[1:06]enlightenment of the hearts and for the hastening of the reappearance of

[1:15]Enlighten your souls in the atmosphere with the recitation of salawat upon

[1:21]Muhammed Muhammad respected SCH Scholars Elders brothers and sisters assalamu alaykum one

[1:35]of the habits of human beings that you often practice and enjoy

[1:40]performing is traveling we yearn to travel for many reasons some of

[1:50]us travel for the purposes of leisure for holidays for vacations others

[1:55]travel due to business a third category of individuals they travel for

[2:02]Discovery to tour other places to seek experience from those who have

[2:07]come before them to look at sites and places of interest especially

[2:15]for religious purposes traveling therefore is a common behavioral aspect of the

[2:19]human being we find that traveling also has its difficulties sometimes has

[2:28]its dangers and challenges I recall that most of us when we

[2:36]come to travel on the flight on the plane we often are

[2:39]wary by the fact that we are Muslims and individuals may judge

[2:44]due to for instance the atrocities of what happened in 911 and

[2:49]may make us uncomfortable in this journey for this example I recall

[2:54]that a couple two individuals two friends were traveling on the flight

[2:59]when they they were traveling on the flight one of their names

[3:02]was Jihad and you all know what I'm going with this of

[3:07]course what happened was that they were not sitting next to each

[3:10]other on the plane they happened to sit on the same row

[3:15]but between them a few people were sitting on the seats the

[3:19]final individual sitting next to the window a window seat his name

[3:23]was Jihad he said I'm tired to his friend he said that

[3:28]I wish to sleep when it comes for Salah time for wake

[3:33]me up after a few hours his friend who is sitting a

[3:40]few seats later notices it's time for Salat he looks and his

[3:44]colleague Jihad is sitting a few seats away he's unable to stand

[3:50]up and poke him and wake him up therefore he cries out

[3:54]Jihad it's time which of course Panic caused the Panic alarm to

[4:02]go across the flight sometimes traveling comes with its difficulties yet when

[4:07]it comes to traveling normally you and I do what we prepare

[4:11]how do we prepare we ensure that we buy the ticket we

[4:17]have the passport we get the visa for the destination that we

[4:21]are going towards ensuring that we have the right currency also what

[4:27]we do is that we leave people in charge of our affairs

[4:30]is if we have a business or if we have a house

[4:34]in which we need someone to look after someone to make sure

[4:39]that everything's going well when it comes to the most important journey

[4:43]of Our Lives a journey which has two important characteristics it is

[4:49]unavoidable and it's unpredictable and that is the Journey of death this

[4:56]important Journey that the Quran says Allah says to the prophet you

[5:07]will die and everyone will die this is indeed the most significant

[5:10]and important Journey that you and I undertake yet the question is

[5:14]have we prepared for it I recall reading that once a minister

[5:20]a priest was going to go for vacation he was driving and

[5:25]he said to himself I need to get some gas here you

[5:27]guys call it gas we call it petrol he was queuing on

[5:32]this particular station until he saw that the queue and the line

[5:35]was very long he looked at the person who was administering the

[5:42]gas and the petrol he said to him what's happening here he

[5:46]said I'm sorry it's vacation season everyone leaves getting ready for their

[5:51]holiday to the last minute the minister looks at him and says

[5:58]don't worry it's the same in my business in other words what

[6:00]in other words when it comes to the journey of the afterlife

[6:04]too often people neglect the preparation for this journey how do we

[6:09]look at it when it comes to a journey similar to this

[6:10]world there is the need to get the ticket what is the

[6:15]ticket Allah has purchased it for us there's no need to buy

[6:18]the ticket when it comes to what about the passport if you

[6:24]wish to enter J passport is IM belief the Quran says if

[6:31]wish to God forbid Enter Hell there's no need for a passport

[6:34]you can get there what about the Visa the visa to go

[6:40]to once again when it comes to J the Visa is the

[6:43]righteous Deeds is is Salah and and S and charity likewise you

[6:50]do not need the visa for the punishment of God what about

[6:56]the currency what currency do we need to take with us indeed

[7:01]currency is what currency is the pleasure of Allah the fact that

[7:04]Allah subhah wa tala is pleased with us the clothes that we

[7:09]can take with us the only thing that we can take is

[7:11]the Cen what do we do when we travel we appoint people

[7:16]to look after our Affairs and likewise before we depart from this

[7:20]world we need to make sure that we have the will therefore

[7:23]this journey is crucial yet when it comes to reflection contemplation and

[7:30]Ponder wondering about the ultimate Journey that the human being undertakes too

[7:34]often we indeed have not be able to understand it how we

[7:41]think that it's the end we think that it's the start of

[7:44]annihilation it's gloomy it's not something to indeed have some anticipation about

[7:54]yet the holy prophet muhamed s says that Allah has created you

[8:08]for what he has created you for eternity Allah has created you

[8:16]not so that you get annihilated he has created you so that

[8:20]you stay so that you live that you get this life that

[8:26]the Quran speaks about the Quran tells us that our notion of

[8:29]death is not necessarily the right one that too often we have

[8:33]misunderstood it too often we have not grasped the concept in the

[8:39]right way why because we're surrounded by materialists empiricists who say what

[8:45]who say that death is the end of man death is where

[8:48]human beings are completely finished whereas the teachings of the beautiful religion

[8:54]says no says death is only the beginning of a journey is

[9:01]the trans transfer of the soul from one existence to another it's

[9:06]the collection of the Soul this is the meaning of the term

[9:16]say that the angel of death that is responsible for you comes

[9:23]and collects your soul which means what which means that we pay

[9:27]emphasis towards the belief that the human being is made up of

[9:33]two entities the physical body and the spiritual soul and the disc

[9:37]connection between the body and the Soul signals the beginning of death

[9:43]and the commencement of essentially that's our belief it is not the

[9:50]end of human beings yet when it comes to this idea what

[9:55]do we find how do we interpret it how do we come

[9:59]across it too often we think that when it comes to this

[10:02]notion of Soul how do we justify it how do we believe

[10:07]that there is this soul that exists because people tell us it's

[10:10]only the body this notion of a soul existing may not necessarily

[10:17]be proven in the eyes of some people we come forward and

[10:20]say the following and it's important for us to understand this that

[10:23]the belief in and whatever will happen in the metaphysical world the

[10:31]world that is unseen is not something that we can completely prove

[10:38]through the rational mind we cannot come forward and say I can

[10:42]claim that I can prove that the soul exists using my no

[10:48]and that's where the comes in that's where the traditions and the

[10:52]importance of referring back to the Holy Quran is present yes the

[10:56]philosophers have said we can also contrib I give you one philosophical

[11:03]argument so that we can understand how and in which complexity this

[11:06]discussion is all about in order to prove the existence of the

[11:09]Soul some of the philosophers have said consider the following example that

[11:17]an individual is buried they're buried in a cemetery 2 3 400

[11:22]years later the cemetery is forgotten it's turned into what it's turned

[11:27]into a farm whereby people place and plant crops somebody comes and

[11:34]plants a apple tree in that particular place so what happens is

[11:40]when the body decomposes there are the roots of the tree that

[11:44]are deeply embedded in the soil and some part of the human

[11:49]being which is under the soil would then be absorbed by the

[11:52]roots of the tree there after apples will be produced from this

[11:55]tree somebody comes and plucks an apple and starts eating it are

[12:02]we here saying that they are eating a part of the other

[12:09]human being who died seven several hundred years ago no of course

[12:13]not the argument is presented in which way the argument is told

[12:16]that the human being and when I say I when I refer

[12:21]to any individual or to myself I am referring to the soul

[12:24]because the body decomposes the body then may become part of something

[12:32]else part of this apple or something else that a human being

[12:35]may eat or an animal May consume therefore the real existence of

[12:38]the human being is what is the soul is the nefs and

[12:44]that soul is the one that begins this journey to the afterlife

[12:49]to this idea of is mentioned three times in the Holy Quran

[13:01]what's a is a curtain it's a barrier it's a barrier that

[13:08]exists between this world and the intermediary World question why should we

[13:14]have Barak why can't there be the day of judgment straight away

[13:20]for people what is this idea of bar why should it exist

[13:23]of course if you look at the Quran Allah subhana wa tala

[13:26]categorically of course demonstrates and places evidence for the existence of bar

[13:34]in numerous aat when it comes to the punishment of when it

[13:39]comes to the Bliss and the comfort that certain Believers enjoy that

[13:51]do not think that those who are killed in the way of

[13:55]Allah are dead no they are alive seeking sustenance with their lord

[13:59]this is another the Ayah that proves the existence of bar question

[14:02]why do we have to have bar of course Allah Knows Best

[14:07]But one idea that is presented by our Scholars is the following

[14:10]that there needs to be a place or a Time by which

[14:17]the souls of human beings are what are waiting for the day

[14:19]of judgment because of course the day of judgment has not started

[14:24]yet there needs to be a place where they are suspended where

[14:27]they are there before the day of judgment number one number two

[14:34]where is where can I find it can I take a flight

[14:36]to it have a tour can I see it somewhere is it

[14:41]pleas present in this world of course when we're talking about when

[14:45]we're talking about the world Realm of the Unseen it is of

[14:51]course a realm in relation to the souls and it is indeed

[14:53]a place or a position that we are unable to determine we

[14:58]do not know where this realm is because we do not have

[15:01]access to it we are unable to see it or to have

[15:06]some kind of communication with it that's number two there was an

[15:09]individual by the name of Hua who was a companion of the

[15:13]holy prophet he kept asking these questions to the holy prophet he

[15:17]kept asking about about the punishment someone came to him and says

[15:21]yah don't you have anything better else to do why are you

[15:27]always asking questions about these Huda said look at his answer he

[15:30]said Allah has created us for Jenna and he wants us to

[15:35]go to paradise yet in order for us to get to Paradise

[15:38]there are obstacles there are impediments I want to make sure that

[15:44]I pass these obstacles I want to make sure that I get

[15:49]to Jenna in good shape therefore I want to know about what

[15:51]I will face hence this is another idea that people present third

[15:56]question people may have about bar is in which shape are we

[16:02]presented in Barak is it the soul or is it the body

[16:06]how do people how do human beings manifest in in the other

[16:12]realm the answer to this is given in the following way that

[16:15]Allah subhana wa tala creates a special body which is immaterial it

[16:23]is called that's why is referred to as what is this the

[16:30]best way in which we can understand the body that God creates

[16:36]for human being soul in that realm is the following that when

[16:39]you stand in front of a mirror what do you see you

[16:43]see your own image true and your image has no what physical

[16:46]attributes to it that is the best and the closest Parable we

[16:52]can give to this particular body this immaterial existence that Allah sub

[16:59]will give human beings in let's go through this journey it's one

[17:06]step at a time asking the following question what can we do

[17:11]to help ourselves ultimately that's the purpose of this discussion what can

[17:16]I do in this world to help myself in that Journey for

[17:18]me to take the provision as I depart from this world the

[17:24]first station is what the first station is yesterday we spoke about

[17:28]it we talked about what we should do if we are in

[17:32]a position where we see a particular individual in the state of

[17:35]in other words just about to depart from this world now we're

[17:39]talking about the soul now we're talking about what happened to the

[17:44]nefs if we are in a state of and each and every

[17:49]one of us one day will be we should not take this

[17:51]for granted I recall a few years ago a young believer a

[17:56]brother of ours 23 years of age he was in a m

[18:02]of abdah Hussein listening to a lecture and he collapsed they came

[18:05]to him and they saw that he departed from this world he

[18:11]had no underlying problems he had no previous medical conditions he collapsed

[18:15]in the Magus and he passed away and people around him were

[18:20]indeed shocked to see this happening right in front of them where

[18:23]was this in the United States in one of the Cities what

[18:27]do we find we find that the state of what is is

[18:31]when the human being meets the angel of death and when we

[18:38]talk about angel of death everyone becomes what becomes frightened true they

[18:43]think of Angel of Death as a frightening creature and this is

[18:47]where the problem start please understand this my dear brothers and sisters

[18:51]this is a wrong notion when we look at Islamic teachings they

[18:56]tell us the following they tell us that the angel of death

[19:03]manifests before the human being in the shape that is indeed in

[19:07]reference to what to our deeds and to our actions we are

[19:12]the ones that determine how the angel of death comes to us

[19:15]and this is proven in the Quran so sometimes we have this

[19:21]idea that the angel of death is this scary Creation with horns

[19:24]and fire emerging from the mouth and so on and so forth

[19:30]this is what prophet IIM one day asked he asked Allah Allah

[19:38]I want to see the angel of death so Allah sent him

[19:39]the angel of death he said I looked at the angel and

[19:43]he was a young man with illumination he was white in color

[19:49]and he was so beautiful that I just wanted to look at

[19:52]him I said to him you know what if it's just this

[19:56]type of reward that the Believers get by looking at you that's

[19:59]sufficient he brought so much happiness and joy in my heart when

[20:05]I saw him then I asked Allah oh Allah is this what

[20:07]happens to all human beings the angel of death would respond and

[20:12]say no this is only for the Believers when it comes to

[20:15]the non-believers the angel of death then manifested himself in the way

[20:19]that he would appear for non-believers a very frightening presentation that caused

[20:27]ibraim to collapse and become unconscious when he saw that frightening scene

[20:34]that petrifying vision and then he said it's sufficient for the non-believers

[20:37]to get the punishment in such a way that they see the

[20:44]angel of death in such a manner Allah waala says those individuals

[20:54]who are believers who have invested you know sometimes we invest in

[20:58]the banks we invest in businesses you need to invest for your

[21:02]invest for your moment of for the angel of death those who

[21:08]invested for that time they are visited by the Angels who come

[21:10]to them in the most Pleasant of ways they say to them

[21:16]they greet them with what they greet them with the Islamic greeting

[21:23]of peace be upon you how beautiful is this because once somebody

[21:26]asked a question why is it that we greet people with this

[21:29]particular greeting by saying why what is the philosophy what's the wisdom

[21:36]behind it number one Allah subhah wa ta'ala has called J whatam

[21:43]the valley or the area of Peace the almighty subhah wa ta'ala

[21:51]wants you and I to get ready for Paradise he wants you

[21:53]and I to be in a position to prepare ourselves for Jenna

[21:58]therefore he will want us to greet each other as if we

[22:04]are in Jenna because the Quran says when people are taken and

[22:07]they are about to enter the enter peacefully in other words what

[22:17]do we find that this is a beautiful greeting we should be

[22:20]proud proud of this greeting that we have sometimes I'm disappointed to

[22:24]see that my dear brothers and sisters especially in the west they're

[22:27]in an office or a place where there are non-muslims they receive

[22:31]a phone call on the other side someone says asalam alaykum immediately

[22:36]they feel very uncomfortable they either don't reply and say Hi how

[22:42]are you or they sayum how are you very quickly why this

[22:46]is the Islamic greeting that we should be proud of but there

[22:49]is an important consideration here A jurisprudential F point this greeting is

[22:54]a Dua it says peace be upon you in Arabic when we

[23:00]sayum and somebody else says and the response is this should only

[23:05]happen between Muslims because what is happening out there is that non-muslims

[23:09]are learning it as well and they think it's nice it's fashionable

[23:13]it's cool to come and greet the Muslims by saying alayum and

[23:17]immediately we have the tendency to say our say you cannot say

[23:23]that to non-muslims you could say peace be upon you in English

[23:27]no problem but you can't say why it's a greeting that is

[23:32]reserved only for Muslims specifically for Muslims in other words it's a

[23:37]Dua May the God's PE peace and blessings be upon you therefore

[23:40]it's a greeting that the Mala meet when it comes to the

[23:45]time of death however if you have not prepared for it if

[23:47]you are in a position that for instance you have neglected the

[23:51]opportunities before you Allah says you know always there's two sides to

[24:07]the coin we cannot only speak about what is good and what

[24:10]is blissful and what is happy and tranquil there is always the

[24:12]other side we are given a choice Allah says it is you

[24:17]who determine what shape and what form the Mala and the angel

[24:22]of death come to you the prophet of Islam in his famous

[24:25]he saw the angel of death when he saw the angel of

[24:29]death he saw him plucking like this he said to him what

[24:32]are you doing he said I visit the household of each every

[24:38]house five times a day and when a soul is taken and

[24:44]when the rest cry I say to them don't cry I visit

[24:45]and I come to you five times and it will be your

[24:49]time one day in other words what in other words it is

[24:54]in your hands you are the one who determines it Allah says

[24:57]those individuals who are care less individuals who do not prepare for

[25:02]this journey then the Mala come striking their fronts and in their

[25:10]backs in the form of what in the form of punishment as

[25:13]soon as an individual sees the angel of death what happens their

[25:17]soul is about to be extracted and this is the process known

[25:24]as what I would like to draw your attention to this idea

[25:34]what is this this is a notion that was displayed in the

[25:39]story of saladi who is Salman a famous companion of the prophet

[25:47]and Salman of course was spoken to by the prophet and Salman

[25:54]was told byol that before you die you'll have an opportunity to

[25:58]what to speak to an individual from from those who are dead

[26:05]and so what happened was that we see that one of the

[26:12]companions of he came to Salman before he passed away and Salman

[26:15]said to him carry me on a wooden plank towards the cemetery

[26:20]he was carried on a wooden plank taken to the cemetery in

[26:23]Mad in modern day Iraq today and what happened was that he

[26:27]started speaking to the dead he said to them oh the people

[26:32]who have left this world and are regretful and are remorseful or

[26:37]those who are seeking a return speak to me answer me there

[26:44]was no response he repeated this three times finally he said my

[26:48]beloved Prophet had promised me that one of you will speak to

[26:51]me on the third occasion he heard a voice according to our

[26:57]traditions and it happens that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala indeed fulfills this

[27:02]and grants certain individuals this ability he heard the voice many times

[27:08]and and others will stand and address the people who have passed

[27:13]away people around him will say can they hear you Imam says

[27:20]yes if the veils are removed you will see that they're begging

[27:24]and telling you make sure you prepare for your journey why seek

[27:32]provision for your journey because the best is God Consciousness being aware

[27:37]of the presence of Allah subhana wa tala at all times that

[27:42]man will respond to to Salman and would say ya Salman this

[27:45]is the feeling that I went through at the time of death

[27:52]what did I go through he says you know if you take

[27:54]scissors and you chop my body into pieces and you extract the

[28:01]flesh from the bone that will not equal or equate the pain

[28:07]I suffered when my soul was detached from my body why Salman

[28:12]asked why you might ask why how can I avoid that is

[28:19]it avoidable absolutely absolutely avoidable God in his Mercy has given us

[28:24]the doors and has indeed passed on to us the teachings so

[28:26]can avoid the the punishment and the s in which way the

[28:32]more you are attached to materialism the more you are attached to

[28:35]this world the more you cannot be without your gadgets and whatever

[28:42]you have and your wealth and possessions the more your body cannot

[28:47]separate itself from the soul and the more pain and suffering you'll

[28:50]feel it's a process of extraction it's the separation between the soul

[28:54]and the body imagine if you use the strongest of glue of

[28:59]something that sticks two things together if you want to separate what

[29:02]happens normally if it's a piece of paper you tear the piece

[29:08]of paper because it's stuck together likewise if the soul is attached

[29:12]to the body to the extent that the body has this relationship

[29:17]and Affinity with d and materialism then the pain and the suffering

[29:24]will be extensive if you examine and in many sermons he speaks

[29:37]about two things he speaks abouted and he speaks about death if

[29:40]you want to know more refer to the Holy Quran and specifically

[29:44]to he talks about s he comes forward and informs you and

[29:51]I what will happen and how we can avoid it so one

[29:55]day he was suffering with extensive pain in his eyes and was

[29:59]next to him he said to him Ali what's the problem said

[30:05]I have severe pain in my eyes at that momento tells him

[30:12]and informs him of the punishment that certain individual will attain or

[30:18]will get when it comes to would say can we avoid it

[30:25]is there a way who amongst your community your your will get

[30:31]this punishment says three groups of people first of all a ruler

[30:40]who is unjust an individual who rules unjustly with oppression and tyranny

[30:45]takes the rights of people away an individual who gives false testimony

[30:53]in other words when they asked to give witness they lie they

[31:00]deceive they don't speak the truth and the third one is what

[31:05]those who usurp the wealth of the orphans here we have to

[31:11]press the pause button and reflect on the following that when it

[31:15]comes to the position of theama of the orphans in the Regin

[31:20]of Islam you'll find 22 areas in the Quran that Allah speaks

[31:24]about them make sure that you look after the orphans what is

[31:40]the what is the the cause of the revelation of this Ayah

[31:46]Abu he used to at that time distribute what distribute food to

[31:50]show off to people and one day an orphan came so when

[31:54]he saw an orphan he said Go away You're an orphan I'm

[31:57]not giving you anything and Allah subhana wa tala revealed these verses

[32:02]do you see the individual who lies and denies the day of

[32:08]judgment and does what in other words is disrespectful to the orphan

[32:15]notice how four out of five of the prophets of ibraim Musa

[32:24]Isa and our holy prophet were all Yama were all orphans it

[32:30]doesn't necessarily mean that they should be disadvantaged the religion of Islam

[32:37]says the responsibility lies on people in order to fulfill their financial

[32:44]needs and their psychological ones s he would come one day and

[32:50]he would see giving money to the orphans what did he do

[32:52]he placed his hand on the head of the orphan that's it

[32:57]would say to him whomsoever places his hand on the head of

[33:02]an orphan Allah grants him new for every hair follicle that he's

[33:09]covering on the day of judgment there is that beautiful emphasis upon

[33:14]what upon looking after the orphans and how wonderful it is that

[33:19]when we recall the tragedy of carala which incorporates the story of

[33:24]the Orphans of ab abdah Hussein we make a Comm to establish

[33:29]to look after an orphan do you know how many orphans are

[33:34]there around the world specifically in the Muslim um there are millions

[33:37]of Orphans in Iraq there are hundreds of thousands of Orphans in

[33:41]lebanan and in Syria and in Pakistan and many other countries and

[33:45]they do not have people to look after them there are so

[33:50]many wonderful organizations orphanages centers they just want support they just want

[33:53]somebody to look after somebody to sponsor an orphan in the name

[34:00]of IM Hussein and his orphans notice and I'll give you a

[34:04]story to illustrate the importance of looking after an orphan we are

[34:07]told that a lady who was alah who was indeed a lady

[34:12]who was righteous she lived in with her four daughters they were

[34:16]young her husband had died because of what happened this happened many

[34:23]many years ago M narrates this in and is found in many

[34:25]other books she is desperate she doesn't have anyone want to look

[34:29]after her and her children she's a widow she moves and she

[34:34]travels in Iran to different country to different cities until she reaches

[34:39]a town known as Bel she goes to that town she is

[34:44]hungry it's freeing cold she goes and knocks on the governor's door

[34:49]the governor who's looking after that particular City the governor comes out

[34:53]looks at this site this is alah a daughter of the holy

[34:56]prophet she looks at him and says you know look at my

[35:02]children I'm a widow I am in desperate need of help is

[35:06]there a shelter is there some food can you help us I

[35:07]don't know where to go do you know what that man told

[35:11]them he was a follower he was a Believer he was from

[35:13]the sh of Ali Muhammad he said to her what is your

[35:18]proof that you're a widow give me proof how can I believe

[35:24]you she said I can't give you any proof How can I

[35:28]support what I'm claiming he says I'm sorry I can't help you

[35:34]she left absolutely desperate walking in the streets we are told in

[35:38]this tradition in this narration that a man who is a non-believer

[35:41]non-muslim saw her he was outside the house he saw her he

[35:46]said to her what are you doing you look desperate your children

[35:50]are freezing she said I don't have anywhere to go I'm hungry

[35:53]and I'm going to freeze to death he says come to my

[35:58]house he welcomed her to his house he gave her a room

[36:01]he looked at his family and he said to his family his

[36:03]wife his children look after them he gave them he switched on

[36:08]some fire for them and he gave them food and comfort that

[36:11]night this lady stayed up praying for this man she said oh

[36:18]Allah guide him to the right path guide him to the path

[36:20]of Muhammad Ali Muhammad this particular individual he slept that night in

[36:24]his dream he saw what he saw himself on the day of

[36:29]judgment but he was extensively thirsty he went what to seek water

[36:32]he asked where can I get water they said there is a

[36:36]pond known as K he went there and he saw next to

[36:39]the pond he came next to the pond he saw the prophet

[36:43]he said can I have some water smiled and said to am

[36:48]give him some water gave him some water he quenched his thirst

[36:54]at that moment he woke up realized what has happened in the

[36:58]morning he went to this lady told her of the dream asked

[37:02]her and told her give tell me information about the religion of

[37:05]Islam she told him he became a Muslim he embraced the religion

[37:12]now that same night that governor who refused saw the same dream

[37:16]that he was thirsty he went toool next to the pond of

[37:22]K and what happened he said I am one of your mu

[37:24]I am one of the lovers of can you give give me

[37:29]water do you know what the prophet said to him what's your

[37:33]proof what's your proof that you are a he woke up frightened

[37:41]sweating Gran to find that lady where is she he asked they

[37:44]said that this person who's a non-muslim has taken her he knocked

[37:49]on the door the non the man who's become a Muslim now

[37:51]opens it in the morning says can I help you oh Governor

[37:54]he said I want that lady I want to look after her

[37:55]he said it's too late she's in my house and today I've

[38:00]been Guided by Allah through her I have indeed decided to give

[38:04]my entire house to her and she indeed is my guest I

[38:09]will never hand her over to you she is the way I

[38:13]would in which I was Guided by Allah subhana wa ta'ala in

[38:15]other words sometimes by helping an orphan you and I are illuminated

[38:19]in our hearts we are told that if your heart is stubborn

[38:24]if you have a hard heart then seek the assistance of the

[38:28]orphans and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will illuminate your heart we are

[38:32]told there are a number of things to do to help ourselves

[38:36]when it comes to the sakarat the first is what the first

[38:40]is respect to parents that the prophet of Islam one day he

[38:53]was told that there is a man who is dying a young

[38:57]man he came next to him him and said say the man

[39:00]wasn't able to do so he was shivering shaking he was at

[39:06]those moments the prophet asked him to say it again but he

[39:08]wasn't able to do so Soo called his mother when his mother

[39:13]came he said to his mother are you upset with him the

[39:16]mother said yes he hasn't spoken to me for 6 years allahar

[39:22]6 years he has severed his relationship with me said forgive him

[39:28]for my sake look at his State look at what he's going

[39:31]through his mother at that moment the mother of that young man

[39:37]said I forgive him for your sakeo allaho Allah looks at him

[39:43]and immediately his condition changes he's now calm and speaks to him

[39:49]says to him say the following oh the one who accepts a

[40:05]small amount however much I do you accept and you forgive my

[40:09]abundance of my deed my sins except take from me this small

[40:16]action and forgive my wrongdoings indeed that particular individual passed away in

[40:23]a tranquil state which highlights to us what one of the main

[40:26]problems that we may face at the time of death is what

[40:32]that our parents are unhappy with us our parents are what in

[40:40]a position that should they should not be which is what which

[40:44]is they are displeased with us Allah subhah waala says he places

[40:55]the love and the respect towards the parents straight after the obedience

[41:00]to Allah subhah wa ta'ala IM was asked this is very interesting

[41:06]he was asked what does mean what should we do IM said

[41:13]be kind to them be generous to them to the extent that

[41:15]they should not ask you for something that they may need in

[41:21]other words identify what they require what they need and fulfill it

[41:27]to them before they ask be wary to look at them with

[41:30]anger or R be wary to do so we have Imam very

[41:38]famously says whomsoever causes his parents to be angry with them and

[41:50]they die in this state then they will never smell the fragrance

[41:56]of paradise it is very very serious is a matter of great

[42:03]consideration we have a important tradition a story whereby one day IM

[42:11]and IM Hussein were in where they saw a man who is

[42:24]disabled a young man who was crying and wailing IM Ali told

[42:27]IM go and see what's the problem with this man Imam Hussein

[42:33]came next to him he said to him why are you crying

[42:34]what's wrong this man said I'm sorry who are you he said

[42:40]I am Hussein Ali he said I'm sorry it's dark I didn't

[42:42]recognize you I have a tragic story he said what's your story

[42:49]this man responds and says my father used to respect me used

[42:52]to look after me but I didn't reciprocate this I wasn't an

[43:01]individual who showed him kindness and generosity I used to lie to

[43:04]him and one day I came to him and said I want

[43:08]some money he said no you can't have money today I knew

[43:10]where the money was where the box that my father kept the

[43:15]money I rushed towards the Box my father also rushed towards the

[43:19]box when I saw him rushing towards the Box what did I

[43:25]do I pushed him and when I pushed him he fell to

[43:30]the ground and when he fell on the ground he looked up

[43:33]to the heavens and he asked Allah to punish me allahar if

[43:38]the father asks or the mother asks Allah we are told that

[43:44]the Dua of the parents is must that Allah answers it be

[43:47]careful when it comes to hurting or injuring the feelings of your

[43:53]parents your mother or your father looking at them with anger or

[43:57]wrath Allah says or the bit say if you look at your

[44:02]parents with anger Allah doesn't accept your prayers until they are pleased

[44:06]with you your your Salah would not be accepted until your parents

[44:09]are happy with you so this man says I left we were

[44:15]going on a journey towards Hajj my father was where was on

[44:18]a camel I thought to myself my father's unhappy with me I'll

[44:22]come to Hajj and I'll ask for forgiveness you know how we

[44:36]thereafter do not wait you do not know what will happen so

[45:31]you have hardship if you want Allah to forgive your sins it's

[45:35]one of those supplications is found in the books of Dua and

[45:41]others known as taught this man he said if you want Allah

[45:46]to forgive you you should recite muham muhamad you should recite Dua

[45:59]what hence you find that the school of and the religion of

[46:05]Islam places so much emphasis when it comes to the respect to

[46:08]the parents what else you and I should be doing to avoid

[46:13]sakar the important action that we are told we need to do

[46:20]is to serve Humanity especially to to serve Believers in which way

[46:24]we are told that if you instill happiness in the hearts of

[46:29]your believing brother and sister who has a ha who has a

[46:33]need then Allah subhah wa ta'ala alleviate sakar for you you see

[46:37]the religion of Islam is beautiful it's not a religion that espouses

[46:44]monasticism it doesn't say to you if you want to get close

[46:45]to Allah go to a cave barricade yourself it says to you

[46:52]the following the says if you want to get close to Allah

[46:55]then Place happiness and joy in the heart of believing men and

[47:02]women in the subject of when someone comes to you and has

[47:08]a requirement when someone comes to you and has a need utilize

[48:50]line what is that letter the letter says whomsoever comes to the

[48:54]help and the need of other believers Allah Allah will reserve them

[48:58]a special place in J that's it so this messenger this individual

[49:05]takes the letter to that governor in awaz knocks on the door

[49:10]the governor opens the servant opens the door can I ask you

[49:14]who are you she says I the messenger says I am a

[49:19]person whove come with a letter from Imam mus K as soon

[49:21]as the governor hears that there is a name of IM mus

[49:25]he rushes to the door welcomes them messenger and says come in

[49:27]have a seat what is the problem he said I am living

[49:33]here in awaz and I have a lot of debt and you

[49:38]are charging me with taxes here is the letter from Imam Alam

[49:44]this man picks up the letter reads the letter the governor reads

[49:46]the letter kisses it places it on his forehead and calls his

[49:49]servant and said bring me the what the book in which I

[49:55]write the names of people that I have to pay he brings

[50:00]the P the book he takes part of the saliva and we

[50:02]wipes the name of that individual from the book in other words

[50:05]you don't have to pay anything anymore he looks at him and

[50:10]says are you happy now this man said wow I'm very happy

[50:12]I didn't expect you to do that I expected you to say

[50:16]you know what I'll give you 50% discount something I didn't expect

[50:20]you to remove my name from the registry his man said wait

[50:26]wait he called a servant he said bring me half of my

[50:29]wealth he bought half of his wealth he said this rug that

[50:34]we're sitting this is one of the most expensive rugs this is

[50:38]also for you amazing he gives all this so that this individual

[50:42]is pleased that man goes back to Hajj a year later meets

[50:47]Imam Imam asks him did that Governor fulfill your need when you

[51:26]Allah is now pleased with this great action of this individual hence

[51:31]we are told that a requirement a prerequisite for the this particular

[51:37]pain and the pangs of sakar to be reduced is to come

[51:43]to the help of our believing brothers and sisters that if they

[51:48]call us we assist them that one day our was doing the

[51:53]around the and IM was with him he was performing the TA

[52:00]with the IM of his time imagine if today Allah grants you

[52:03]the to do with how would you feel if you're going around

[52:11]the with the IM of your time you'd never leave him right

[52:58]your help go and answer them because if you answer them in

[53:03]the eyes of Allah you'll get more reward than continuous ta for

[53:09]an entire week just by answering them IM sad would say to

[53:13]him therefore don't lose an opportunity to perform a good deed through

[53:17]bringing happiness and joy to the heart of your believing brother and

[53:20]sister when it comes to a lesson that can be learned fromal

[53:28]where IM Hussein would address his companions he would say to them

[53:34]oh people be patient why because death is it's just a bridge

[53:42]from a realm of difficulty and suffering to an eternal place of

[53:48]happiness and Tranquility this was the message of IM Al Hussein who

[53:53]indeed would wish to serve who indeed would wish to give we

[53:55]are told that his house was known as the house of generosity

[53:59]in Medina the poor and the servant and the and the servitude

[54:03]who would come to and the destitute would want to come and

[54:09]seek some help they would find the house of Hussein as the

[54:12]best place to go they would go and knock on the door

[54:16]and Imam Hussein would help them Imam Hussein would extend his hand

[54:20]from outside the door and give them when they would ask why

[54:23]you're extending your hand and not coming out would say that I

[54:28]do not wish to look at you in the face in case

[54:32]you feel undermined or shameful that I am assisting you or I'm

[54:35]helping you this was the generosity and the magnanimity of Hussein Ali

[54:41]and his companions and and one of those was Muslim whom the

[54:47]IM on the 15th of the month of Ramadan 60 years after

[54:54]Hijra chose to be his Envoy his Ambassador towards suf he wrote

[54:58]a letter to the kants in response to the thousands of signatories

[55:02]that these individuals had sent to he said to them this is

[55:09]my brother and my cousin from my family he is the one

[55:28]letter goes towards kufa in entering the city of kufa he is

[55:34]welcomed people surround him he stays in the house of the famous

[55:41]Brave Warrior he stays in his house and the the followers they

[55:45]come one after the other giving to whom to Muslim yazid mua

[55:52]is told if you want to regain control over KU then make

[56:40]Muslim recognizes that there is a need to call for an uprising

[56:43]there is a need to indeed stand against zad yet unfortunately what

[56:50]happened was that many people were caught by the deception of he

[56:58]would present them with wealth he would make them frightened that the

[57:05]army of yazid in their hundreds of thousands is coming towards kufa

[57:09]it will obliterate all all of you none of you will remain

[57:13]and so what happened was one after the other those supporters of

[57:17]Muslim started to reduce until finally on the eth of the month

[57:25]of the 60 years after at night when it came tol prays

[57:34]in M finally he looks behind him and there is nobody left

[57:38]there is none of his supporters he is now a he wonders

[57:43]in the streets and Alleyways of kufa all by himself until he

[57:48]stops he's thirsty outside the house of a famous Lady by the

[57:52]name of to she comes out waiting for her son she looks

[57:58]at this man she says to him yah abdah is there a

[58:03]place that you want to go to I'm uncomfortable for you to

[58:06]sit outside my house he says to her is there water that

[58:15]I can quench my thirst says yes she goes inside the house

[58:19]brings water and when she brings the water Muslim drinks yet he's

[58:26]still sitting down next next to the house she asks him do

[58:29]you not have a house to go to do you not have

[58:34]family to return to Muslim says no I am the envoy of

[58:39]abdah in kufa I am Muslim people have betrayed me and have

[58:43]deserted me recognizes who this person is you are Muslim come inside

[58:53]this is your house she welcomes him inside the house she gives

[58:58]him a chamber a room he spends the night in I and

[59:03]In Worship in his sleep he sees who says to him we

[59:10]are all waiting for you he notices and recognizes this is the

[59:16]final night brings him food and water he doesn't eat he spends

[59:21]the night in the son of comes inside the house he knows

[59:25]there is what there is a bounty for the head of Muslim

[62:19]he is dying of thirst and he calls water a man comes

[62:22]to him and says no Allah you will never taste water until

[62:31]you say that I enter Hellfire whereas you are more worthy of

[62:38]going into it another man feels sorry for Muslim brings a cup

[62:44]of water to Muslim Muslim attempts to drink the water but every

[62:49]time he picks the cup he tries to drink but because his

[62:55]mouth was full of blood the water is mixed with the blood

[62:58]and he is unable to drink he then looks and says it

[63:06]is the will of Allah that I meet him and I am

[63:10]thirsty just like Hussein his family and companions zad calls Muslim inside

[63:18]the palace Muslim is dragged inside the palace he doesn't greetah is

[63:22]angry how dare you do you not want to greet me your

[63:26]Amir says no by God you are not my Amir you're a

[63:33]wretched individual says I will kill you a killing like no other

[63:39]at that moment Muslim asks for a will to be left he

[63:42]looks at Omar and says I wish to leave a will which

[65:55]the news of the mom of Muslim he he says he calls
