[2:16][Music] when my servants ask you oh Prophet about me I am

[2:25]truly near I respond to one's prayer when they call upon me

[2:30]so let them respond with obedience to me and believe in me

[2:36]perhaps they will be guided to the right way dear brothers and

[2:42]sisters and respected Scholars the verse that I recited here when I

[2:50]started is one of the important verses for us to play Clos

[2:55]attention to and I specifically chosen it tonight because it has a

[3:00]lot of importance for us on this special occasion of when Allah

[3:07]subhana waala says he says when my servants ask you oh Prophet

[3:11]they're going to ask you about about me the servants are going

[3:16]to ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala they're going to ask about him

[3:20]from the prophet tell them what Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells the

[3:23]holy prophet tell them I am close I am near I'm not

[3:31]how you think of me as something that's far away and something

[3:33]that you will see someone you will see at the day of

[3:35]judgment he says truly I am near and what does he respond

[3:44]after that Allah subhana says I respond to the call of one

[3:50]who calls upon me whenever they call upon me I respond to

[3:55]it so let's respond with obedience to me and believe in Allah

[4:00]subhana wa taala this verse is discussing Dua and Dua is one

[4:09]of the most important tools and weapons of a believer in their

[4:14]daily lives for if I have Allah subh who is the my

[4:19]Lord and He is above me and he's asking me every in

[4:25]every moment to call upon him when I'm in moments of distress

[4:28]when I'm in moments of difficulties when I have problems when I

[4:33]have troubles Allah subhana waala says I'm the one that's near I'm

[4:39]the one even though you don't see me you don't feel me

[4:41]I'm truly the one that is there even without the senses our

[4:46]hearts can tell that Allah subhana wa ta'ala is near when we

[4:55]say Dua a lot of people they mistake it for asking Allah

[4:58]for something they'll say that uh Dua is when we pray to

[5:04]Allah when we supplicate to them a word that we use is

[5:06]supplication all of these are good translations but the problem with Arabic

[5:10]is sometimes one word has multiple different meanings a more precise definition

[5:19]to Dua is to mean to call to call upon Allah subhana

[5:22]wa ta'ala for in every single moment you don't need to have

[5:29]a you don't need to have something that want to ask Allah

[5:32]for just the fact that Allah subhana wa tala is there and

[5:36]you call upon Him yaah Allah I'm in this situation Ya Allah

[5:40]you are the one who sees me in this situation in any

[5:43]moment Allah subhah wa ta'ala says call upon me and I'm the

[5:53]one who responds to you so we need to make sure that

[5:54]when we discuss Dua that we understand the profound meanings for this

[5:58]specific word when we say Ya Allah I'm making Dua towards you

[6:03]I'm calling upon you Ya Allah outside of just prayers outside of

[6:07]these Salah that I have five times a day outside of reciting

[6:12]this Quran just simply in our regular lives making Dua to Allah

[6:15]subhana wa tala to call upon him in any specific moment because

[6:21]our connection to Allah is the most important connection Allah subhah wa

[6:25]ta'ala says that he's brought you onto this Earth to be a

[6:31]true servant towards him and how can you be a true servant

[6:33]when you cut cut off that connection to Allah when you don't

[6:37]make that Dua to Allah subhana wa ta'ala that you sometimes we

[6:40]feel that we don't even need Allah subhana wa ta'ala that everything

[6:44]is going well that I don't even need him in this moment

[6:48]there's nothing I need to ask Allah everything is going well Hab

[6:52]in that moment understand that it's not that Dua which you're asking

[6:55]Allah that you need to do it's calling upon Allah in every

[7:01]single moment and being thankful towards him and speaking with him and

[7:05]building that connection with Allah subhah wa ta'ala Allah subhana says in

[7:09]another verse of the Quran Allah subhana wa tala says say oh

[7:19]Prophet you all would not even matter to Allah subhana if you

[7:25]were not to call what if you were to call upon Allah

[7:33]subhah wa ta'ala you would not even matter to Allah you would

[7:35]be nothing to Allah subhah wa ta'ala when we say this of

[7:40]course we don't mean that Allah subhana wa tala doesn't isn't Alman

[7:44]he isn't but it's for us to understand that even for a

[7:49]split second I could not survive without Allah I could not live

[7:52]without Allah subh and his Divine Mercy His blessings upon me and

[8:00]that's why I call to him that's why in any moment that

[8:03]we have an issue we have troubles we need to make sure

[8:07]that we discuss this with Allah subhana wa ta'ala for Allah subhana

[8:11]wa tala says that he responds to our calls when we call

[8:16]to him that's why sometimes for example we know that Allah subhana

[8:22]wa tala is what for example we call someone who is over

[8:25]you just like a child when a child is with their parents

[8:29]they ask to their parents whenever they need something right they'll ask

[8:33]their parents something and that's why we know we have in raas

[8:36]that the holy prophet said when you make a promise to your

[8:38]child fulfill that promise because they are ones who are looking towards

[8:45]you you're the sustainer to that one child who was very young

[8:51]you are that person who gives him everything so don't ever go

[8:55]against that promise that you made for that child muham muhamad [Music]

[9:04]and we discussed this two nights ago when we discussed our position

[9:11]in respect to Allah subhana wa taala we say that we are

[9:13]nothing in response to Allah he is the one who is great

[9:16]and we are the one who's weak we recite this in but

[9:22]let's look at says what says yaah Allah suppose that I can

[9:36]be patient for your suppose that I can last against and I

[9:39]can have S in response to that Affliction on the day of

[9:44]judgment how am I supposed to sa have how am I supposed

[9:50]to Ure the fact that I cannot see your glory Subhan how

[9:54]can I be in this moment and IND day of judgment that

[9:59]I'm not able to look towards you that I'm not able to

[10:02]see you over me to be seeing that you Allah subhah wa

[10:06]ta'ala is in charge of my Affairs when we discuss this is

[10:11]something that we look towards we're completely dependent on Allah subhana wa

[10:17]ta'ala and that's why Allah says it means when we say Dua

[10:21]Allah subhana wa tala is saying call to me whether it's day

[10:27]whether it's night if it's a week day if it's a weekend

[10:31]if you're at work if you're at school if you're at home

[10:36]call upon me because Allah subhana wa tala we know that he's

[10:39]everywhere and we know that we're truly dependent on him but many

[10:44]of us we choose to ignore that call the verse that I

[10:49]repeated before well when Allah subhana says he continues onward he says

[10:57][Music] those people who do not call upon me those people that

[11:06]are too proud to worship me these people they have arrogance they

[11:10]say that Allah subhana wa tala I don't want want to worship

[11:15]him I don't want to call towards him I can do my

[11:17]own matters I can manage them myself he says those are the

[11:23]ones who will say Allah subhana wa ta'ala is saying that those

[11:27]people who don't call upon him those people who have who have

[11:33]an arrogance those are the ones who will enter Hellfire so Allah

[11:37]subhana tala many of us we feel that I don't want to

[11:39]be a true Muslim right now it's not my moment right now

[11:43]inshallah I'm going to get married inshallah I'm going to get a

[11:45]job inshallah this inshallah that then I'm going to be a true

[11:51]Muslim Allah subhana wa taala is telling you don't wait for that

[11:53]moment to call upon me because then of course you're going to

[11:56]be those who are you're acting as if you don't need Allah

[12:01]subhana wa tala you're act acting as if Allah is completely unnecessary

[12:08]in your Affairs in this moment that you don't even need Allah

[12:12]so Allah is making sure that we pay attention to him and

[12:16]now let's look at what does he say in letter 31 of

[12:22]after the battle of s he writes a letter to IM Hass

[12:27]and he discusses this Dua and I'll recite it in English instead

[12:34]of Arabic so we can understand he has opened for you the

[12:37]door of repentance therefore whenever you call him he hears your call

[12:41]whenever you whisper to him he knows your whisper you place before

[12:48]him your needs unveil yourself before him complain to him your worries

[12:53]beseech to him your troubles seek his help in all your Affairs

[12:56]and ask them from the treasuries of his Mercy that which no

[12:59]one else has the power to give namely length of Life Health

[13:05]of body and increase in sustenance and he has placed the keys

[13:08]of his treasuries in your hands in the sense that he has

[13:11]shown you the way to ask him Allah subhana T is showing

[13:14]you he's giving those those when we discuss ma what's this word

[13:19]of ma the keys of heaven Allah subhana wa tal is telling

[13:24]you here are the keys I'm giving you all of these and

[13:26]you able to enter your Jenna through this so you should be

[13:31]able to use these keys and now sometimes we feel that Allah

[13:35]subhana wa tala doesn't respond to our Dua many of us are

[13:41]like this Ya Allah I asked you so many times I asked

[13:43]you for this Dua but you didn't answer this Dua I felt

[13:48]hopeless listen to ma it's not me who says this but and

[13:54]whenever someone would go to his would have a member and he

[13:59]would listen will say that it wasn't your member that we were

[14:04]listening to it was the member of this is Ma's M that

[14:10]we're listening to so let's listen to maa's m in response to

[14:13]this concern Ya Allah you're not responding to me I don't feel

[14:20]that you hear me what does MAA say therefore Wherever You Wish

[14:22]upon the doors of his favor with prayer let abundant Reigns of

[14:25]his Mercy fall on you delay in acceptance of prayer should not

[14:30]disappoint you because a grant of prayer is according to the measure

[14:36]of your intention sometimes the acceptance of your prayer is delayed with

[14:41]the view of it being a source of a greater reward to

[14:43]the asker and of a better gift to the expectant sometimes we

[14:48]don't receive that that we wish for Allah subhana wa ta'ala says

[14:51]that this Dua is delayed but why because there's something bigger that

[14:55]I want to give towards you there's something greater that you're expecting

[14:58]down the line just because you don't see this small small thing

[15:02]in your road that didn't you didn't achieve doesn't mean that you're

[15:05]not going to achieve even something even greater than that Allah says

[15:08]it's been delayed because sometimes we'll give something that's even greater than

[15:12]that sometimes you ask for a thing but it is not given

[15:17]to you and a better thing is given to you later or

[15:21]a thing is taken from you for some greater good of yours

[15:23]because sometimes you ask for a thing which contains the ruin of

[15:28]your religion and if it is given to you sometimes we ask

[15:31]for th we ask for money from Allah subhana wa tala we

[15:36]ask to be successful Allah says if that success was to be

[15:40]achieved it was possible that it would cause you to leave Allah

[15:44]sometimes the thing that we're asking causes us to move away from

[15:49]Allah subhana wa ta'ala therefore you should your request should be the

[15:52]things of beauty that will be lasting and whose burdens will remain

[15:55]away from you as for the wealth it will not last for

[16:01]you nor will you live for it these are the words of

[16:11]tonight we enter into I want to end off on this for

[16:16]all of you so please pay very close attention to this point

[16:20]the night of the 23rd of Ramadan is a night in which

[16:26]according to our is most likely the night of it is the

[16:30]one that is the most likely of the nights so let's say

[16:36]the past two nights of you weren't able to do your you

[16:39]weren't able to do the Dua like you wanted to know that

[16:42]tonight is a very special night where you now have an opportunity

[16:45]to make that Dua you have an opportunity to call Allah subhana

[16:51]waala because it's the most likely of the nights the night of

[16:56]is better than a thousand months how much is that in years

[16:59]80 83 years 83 a bit over that so imagine of course

[17:07]a human's life is about 83 years you're making the Dua you're

[17:12]making a supplication you're calling upon Allah the extent of a lifetime

[17:17]most humans they don't live up to 83 possibly they live to

[17:22]a matter of maybe 80 years Allah is saying a thousand months

[17:25]this amount of time of a lifetime call upon me in these

[17:30]moments sometimes we have uh at Superstores we have a special discount

[17:34]right they say okay it's a Black Friday discount let everyone runs

[17:39]towards the Black Friday discount they're like okay I I need to

[17:42]get this a special discount I don't usually get this Allah is

[17:47]saying run to me in this manner tonight is the night where

[17:49]you're getting a very special discount for your duas you're going to

[17:52]get all of that Saab of a lifetime of Dua so let's

[17:57]not make sure that we use this night let's say we use

[17:59]this deal inshallah to call upon Allah subhana wa tala and inshah

[18:06]if you're going to also make use of this special deal when

[18:18]we recite Dua tonight we're going to recite a very special Dua

[18:24]a Dua which is for Allah subhana wa ta'ala I want you

[18:27]to try if you can pay closer attention to it listen to

[18:33]what Allah subhana wa taala is saying if you can find before

[18:36]the Dua recites try to find a website or an application that

[18:43]has both the farsy or rather the Arabic and the English or

[18:47]if you prefer fary have the the Arabic and the farsy translation

[18:50]because there's so much Beauty in this there's so much of these

[18:57]duas that we ignore we feel that this du is a task

[18:59]it's a chore for me Ya Allah I'm going to recite for

[19:04]a third time I'm going to have to sit for another hour

[19:08]of this Dua if you take this time to understand what this

[19:14]Dua is telling you you'll realize how much of a Saab you're

[19:17]receiving from it how much you're calling upon Allah subhana wa taala

[19:23]in it so we can't treat it in the same way we

[19:24]treat a chore like for example taking the trash out or cleaning

[19:28]dishes oh man I have to go to it's very important that

[19:35]we try to make sure we make use of this time that

[19:37]Allah subhah wa ta'ala is giving you an opportunity you're asking from

[19:44]someone who says I'm going to give if you ask I give

[19:46]you even more you're asking someone who when they give you they

[19:51]don't lose sometimes when we give something to someone I give something

[19:55]to my friend I'm losing it right whether it's my time whether

[19:58]it's something that's material I will lose it but if we pay

[20:03]attention to Allah he doesn't lose anything when he gives on the

[20:07]contrary Allah subhana wa taala says when I give I want to

[20:14]give even more I I wish to give even more to you

[20:15]so it's very important that we try to make use of this

[20:19]night that we have what it's a very important word to understand

[20:26]here the presence of our our hearts in our Dua when we

[20:32]ask Allah subhana wa tala we should try to pay attention when

[20:35]I'm talking to you for example sometimes you're talking to someone and

[20:40]it's a one-on-one conversation you see that this the person he starts

[20:45]to look around while you're talking to him you notice that he's

[20:49]not paying attention you're like you feel disrespected in a way that

[20:52]this person doesn't want to talk to me he doesn't care about

[20:57]what I'm talking about to him let's use that same kind of

[21:02]view when we look towards Allah subhana wa tala when you're making

[21:04]your duas that's when you're making your Dua that you don't show

[21:08]any kind of disrespect in that manner when you're calling on Allah

[21:14]that your attention is towards Allah and I'm sure it's because because

[21:17]it's an hour it's very difficult I understand but when you have

[21:21]an opportunity why not take that opportunity why not use it inshallah

[21:24]to be able to call upon Allah is so important for us

[21:31]to be able to speak to Allah in a manner that Allah

[21:33]responds to us Prophet M once he was passing by a town

[21:40]and when he was passing by this town he sees a Shepherd

[21:43]he's at uh his house and he's praying he's in s he's

[21:48]in a form of s and he's praying Ya Allah Ya Allah

[21:52]Prophet M he sees this then he leaves because he has a

[21:54]task he comes back the next day he comes back later that

[21:59]evening and that man who a Shepherd is still praying in s

[22:02]Prophet M says Allah because he is he speaks to Allah he

[22:10]asks Allah yah Allah this person who's making this Dua from morning

[22:13]to night towards you are you not going to respond to his

[22:17]prayer are you not going to give him what he wants look

[22:18]at how sincere he is and Allah subhana wa tal because he

[22:24]speaks to our prophet he says yeah mus this person who is

[22:27]praying this Shepherd who's praying he he's not praying with his heart

[22:34]towards me when he's praying towards me it's not he's not looking

[22:38]towards me he's distracted he's preoccupied during this time he's thinking about

[22:42]his sheep his heart is towards his sheep is his attention is

[22:45]not even towards me he's in s but he's not calling upon

[22:50]me it's just his tongue but if his tongue is towards me

[22:52]and his heart is towards something else then his prayer doesn't get

[22:56]accepted so when we recite the when we recite and we call

[23:04]on Allah subhana waala we should make sure that we call towards

[23:07]him with both our tongues and with our hearts so inshallah we'll

[23:11]turn towards Allah many of us have distresses many of us have

[23:17]difficulties many of us have problems within our lives we ask Allah

[23:21]we ask Allah to give his when we ask a Dua when

[23:26]we call upon him we ask him to respond to us what

[23:28]does Allah subal says Allah subhah waala is telling you ask him

[23:38]who responds to the distress distressed when they cry towards him relieving

[23:44]their afflictions who is it that responds to those cries of that

[23:49]person who is distressed let's end off with that inshallah and recite

[23:54]for all of those who are troubled all of those who are

[23:57]distressed all of those who are having difficulties inshallah [Music] [Music] [Music]

[24:38]all you who responds to those who call upon him we ask

[24:42]you on this night of to fulfill our wishes and to remove

[24:48]our distresses inshallah Ya Allah we ask you to enable us to

[24:52]benefit from this Ya Allah we ask you to hasten the reappearance

[24:54]of the Imam of our time Ya Allah we ask you to

[25:00]make us pleased with make be pleased with our actions Ya Allah

[25:03]we ask you do not take us from this world unless you

[25:07]have forgiven us Ya Allah we ask you to make our lives

[25:09]the lives of Muhammad and Ali Muhammad and our deaths the deaths

[25:14]of Muhammad and Ali Muhammad Ya Allah we ask you to enable

[25:16]us to serve you in a life of piety Ya Allah we

[25:20]ask you to guide us on towards the straight path for
