[0:20][Music] alhamdulillah so this is our first class uh regarding the biography
[0:53]of the Prophet sallallah for this year but similar to what we
[0:57]said yesterday uh we've been having this class for a few years
[1:03]um we've covered the um the certain details regarding the the life
[1:10]of the Prophet sallallahu Al before descended upon him we also covered
[1:16]uh certain incidents that took place when he was in Mecca we
[1:23]talked about the migration of Al imi's with concer the migration we
[1:33]mentioned important events that took place when he came into Medina during
[1:38]the first year and we stopped at the second year now one
[1:42]of the most important events that took place uh on the second
[1:49]year after Hijra after migration was the marriage of IM Ali and
[1:55]fatim so we mentioned these details previously we uh we recorded uh
[2:03]a bunch of these lectures and they're on YouTube for those who
[2:07]would like to uh review the the previous lessons you can do
[2:12]so um last year we were talking about the marriage of Ali
[2:15]and and we were dissecting the the long narration or see the
[2:21]narrations that speak about this blast marriage the infallibles as all of
[2:33]you know teach us lessons throughout all of their deeds so any
[2:39]action that the mum that the infallible performs whenever the infallible infallible
[2:45]performs a particular action whatever that action may be there's a lesson
[2:50]behind what he or she is doing so it's very important to
[2:57]come forward and look at the narrations that speak about the marriage
[3:02]of the commander of the faithful and the Lady of Light because
[3:08]it teaches us a lot regarding marriage for example it teaches us
[3:13]what are you know main issues that we should be focusing on
[3:20]when we want to get married and what are some issues that
[3:23]we should disregard we shouldn't even pay attention to or what are
[3:27]some issues that are not too important in regards to other issues
[3:32]in comparison to other issues so on so forth the beauty about
[3:36]this marriage or at least one beautiful uh issue regarding this marriage
[3:41]is that you had three Mas three infallibles who were involved in
[3:47]the marriage was the father-in-law of the Father of the Bride and
[3:55]you had Fatima the Mistress of the women of the worlds who
[3:58]was the bride and you had the commander of the faithful who
[4:02]was the groom so we did mention a few points regarding um
[4:09]this marriage and we want to continue where we left off okay
[4:16]so if you want to um watch the lectures uh that we
[4:19]gave last year you can you can do so they're on my
[4:24]page youtube.com hum3 Okay you can find the lectures over there we
[4:27]mentioned that there was a command from Allah subhana directed at telling
[4:34]him to marry Ali and the prophet made it clear to his
[4:42]companions that was no ordinary lady and that her issue meaning the
[4:52]issue of her marriage lied in the hands of Allah so it
[4:59]was Allah who was going to choose the uh the husband of
[5:05]Bear in mind that several companions sought say Z's hand and that's
[5:15]something normal uh any companion would would wish to be you know
[5:19]the husband of the daughter of especially that this would give him
[5:29]a unique position in the Muslim um amongst the Muslims Mak sense
[5:34]so for example Abu Bakr he sought her hand refused s alai
[5:38]Omar sought her hand refused they all sought s Fatima's hand and
[5:46]the prophet would not accept sallai nor would fatim accept anyone other
[5:57]than interestingly from her birth if you read the narration about's birth
[6:06]from the day she's born she speaks when uh the Four Women
[6:12]of uh the four Great women Oram the sister of mus SAR
[6:23]and Asim they come to and also a bunch of they come
[6:30]to welcome the Lady of Light into this world z speaks with
[6:35]Allah's permission obviously it's a miracle similar to how Isam spoke when
[6:39]he was in the cradle and amongst the words she says is
[6:44]that I testify that my husband is the master of the successors
[6:49]so from day one she already knows who will be her husband
[6:53]and it will be none other than the master of the successors
[6:56]meaning Ali Allah chose Ali to be husband we mentioned that IM
[7:20]Ali came to seeking Fatima's hand in marriage and asked IM Ali
[7:25]this was one of the final points we mentioned so I want
[7:29]to mention it and then we carry on where we left off
[7:32]inh the prophet asked IM um what will you give me as
[7:43]in what will you give Fatima as a doy what will be
[7:48]your doy Ali think we know that when two people get married
[7:51]the husband presents what presents something called a Mah a dowy to
[7:55]his wife and that Mah is like a isn't a gift but
[8:01]similar to a gift that he gives to his wife so the
[8:07]prophet asks the Imam what will you give fa and the IM
[8:11]tells him I have three things I possess three things only tells
[8:19]them I have my sword and I have my horse and I
[8:23]have my armor in another narration he tells him that I have
[8:31]my horse my camel and my armor so those are the items
[8:34]that the IM possessed the prophet tells him what he tells him
[8:39]ask for your sword you're going to need it to fight in
[8:41]the path of Allah subhana wa tala meaning to defend the truth
[8:46]to defend Islam using that sword and as for the the horse
[8:49]uh sorry the camel you're going to need it also to you
[8:55]know carry your family or your wife from place to place meaning
[8:57]it will be your means of transport ation but we will accept
[9:04]what the armor so the im's armor was here the prophet tells
[9:16]to go and sell the armor okay and this is a very
[9:22]important point that I want you to keep in mind because it
[9:24]makes us understand uh how expensive or let me say how cheap
[9:33]our do should be because the doy of fatim was not an
[9:40]expensive di anyone who thinks that fa's di was you know humongous
[9:44]was expensive is beyond wrong it was a cheap dowy and when
[9:49]I say cheap someone might say you know this is quite offensive
[9:52]no it's not offensive say Z described her her doy saying that
[9:56]it's a cheap dowy meaning it's monetary value is what is low
[10:03]why was its monetary value low because they want to set an
[10:13]example for the rest of the people telling them follow our lead
[10:17]when you get married let your Diaries be uh cheap Diaries not
[10:26]expensive ones the expensive doy is not good it's look down upon
[10:31]by Allah and by this is something that uh fathers should keep
[10:41]in mind fathers the father of a particular lady should keep this
[10:46]point in mind the expensive di is looked down upon it's dispraised
[10:52]by so he goes to the market and he sells the the
[10:58]armor for how much we have a few Traditions some traditions say
[11:15]500 silver coins and this is quite known 500 and another tradition
[11:31]says 400 silver coins a third says 400 plus so 400 silver
[11:40]coins what we call Dirhams plus one dinar one golden coin so
[11:53]we can fairly say that the DI of zaham was between 400
[12:00]silver coins to what to 500 silver coins what's the value of
[12:05]500 silver coins one silver coin equates approximately approximately three grams of
[12:14]silver so one silver coin approximately equates what three grams of silver
[12:34]which would mean that 500 silver coins equate approximately 1,500 grams of
[12:40]silver J so look at the you know the the value of
[12:48]silver today and then convert uh 1,500 grams of silver to any
[12:56]you know currency and you'll know approximately what was s fatim z
[13:01]in our day and age it was approximately approximately $1,000 ,000 US
[13:07]Dollars that's it done deal that was the doy of the Queen
[13:12]of the Universe clear inshallah this is something we should keep in
[13:26]mind again because the traditions of told us that we should not
[13:35]exceed the Dow of when we get married not saying that if
[13:42]the Mah exceeds her doy the marriage is invalid no it's still
[13:46]valid but we're doing something wrong when we're exceeding her yes way
[13:58]I looked at okay he gave one away and like that's all
[14:12]he owed so but we also say it was valuable in the
[14:17]sense like he gave like of what he only had of his
[14:23]like last like it was his own possession and he gave it
[14:26]away and it was like it was it's very dear to him
[14:30]because it's something he uses in the battle and so on uh
[14:33]and it's one of the only three things he possesses so like
[14:38]if imagine you have the choice to give your house away your
[14:42]car away or for example your TV right they're all very valuable
[14:46]but whatever one means the most to you it really depends like
[14:51]for IM Ali to like say it was only 400 I agree
[14:56]with the price but it's like the thought maybe the the whole
[14:59]idea behind it like give whatever is deest to like of most
[15:07]important that understanding of the ntion is interesting and uh one might
[15:15]incline towards this idea had there not been other narrations specifying that
[15:23]you need to uh you cannot exceed 500 Dirhams make sense so
[15:30]you have other Traditions telling us that we shouldn't exceed 500s what
[15:38]we callah when we you know present a Mah to our wife
[15:41]or to our wives make sense again when I'm saying you shouldn't
[15:47]I'm not saying it's Haram it's not Haram your doy can exceed
[15:50]in the sense that it is lawful to have an expensive D
[15:55]it's lawful it's not Haram but is it good no it's looked
[16:00]down upon and there are commands commands given by the imams telling
[16:05]us that we should not exceed the do of right so yes
[16:13]someone might understand that you know actually's di was quite expensive because
[16:18]he gave one of the three items he possessed so it's as
[16:23]if as if he's giving onethird of his wealth right but that's
[16:25]not the case there's a lot of emphasis on the number 500
[16:32]500 silver coins and as we said one silver coin equates what
[16:35]three gram of silver review for example zakat the chapter of zakat
[16:44]uh in the uh the the book of say Muhammad his book
[16:49]of jurist prudence or the other book I believe it's called if
[16:53]I'm not mistaken in it he mentions that one gram of silver
[16:58]equates approximately three grams it's a little bit less by the way
[17:04]than three grams um so then we'll understand that 500 Dirhams equate
[17:14]approximately 1,500 grams 1,500 grams of of silver there's a very nice
[17:19]narration a beautiful narration that perhaps we'll read one day uh which
[17:24]speaks of a dialog that took place between and one of his
[17:30]closest companions called in that narration speaks about the da and he
[17:39]keeps on asking Allah questions right and left about the dowy and
[17:43]he tries to find you know what we call a loophole the
[17:48]kind of um give a dowy which exceeds M and the prophet
[17:56]does not give him permission he tells him if that is going
[17:59]to happen as in if someone if a husband wants to give
[18:04]his wife something that exceeds Mah then let his D equate Mah
[18:09]500 Dirhams and whatever exceeds it will be given under the title
[18:17]of b b means doing good to someone else so suppose I
[18:21]want to give let's say my wife $10,000 will agree that our
[18:27]Mahar our di is the Mahar of Fatima nothing else whatever exceeds
[18:33]Mah is a gift for example what we call but not Mah
[18:40]the changes on a practical level she's gonna get this she's going
[18:45]to get the same amount of money right or the same amount
[18:48]of wealth but it makes a difference uh in regards to certain
[18:55]to certain uh rules make sense so now we'll carry on where
[19:07]we left off we're going to read a tradition obviously since this
[19:10]is a a class that revolves around the the life of there
[19:14]will be a lot of reading you know we're going to read
[19:18]a lot of narrations because we want to read about the prophet
[19:21]sallallah alai what what happened in his life and then as we're
[19:24]reading obviously we'll stop at certain points and an and analyze those
[19:33]points uh inshallah subhana I think someone has a has a question
[19:37]yes I have a question yes so so Fatima's Dary was between
[19:44]I'm confused is it D or silver coins between 400 to 500
[19:48]silver coins or Durham a Durham is a silver coin oh okay
[19:52]all right okay because you were saying silver coins and you were
[19:57]saying durhams uh just wanted to make sure okay no problem no
[20:00]problem so a Durham is a silver coin and a dinar dinar
[20:06]is a golden coin so again based on the different narrations we
[20:16]have we can say with confidence that her do was between 400
[20:19]to 500 Dirhams the reason I'm saying so is one IR said
[20:26]it was 400 another said 500 and a third said 400 plus
[20:34]one golden okay which is not that big of a difference long
[20:37]story short it was a cheap dowy not an expensive one J
[20:45]here we go to a narration let me just share it with
[20:49]the students who are online before we continue I'm going to send
[21:04]it to you guys through the chat section so we have a
[21:15]ntion the students who are present you can find it on the
[21:18]paper in the book by muhamed may Allah bless his soul remember
[21:28]we said there were two individuals who had the same name Muhammad
[21:34]okay one was a sun scholar who wrote the famous book of
[21:39]history and also has a book of a book through which he
[21:46]explains the Quran and then you had a you had a person
[21:49]with the same name but he was he was from the sh
[21:54]so he has a book called which contains fabulous traditions in it
[21:59]there's a narration by IM where he mentions the marriage of Ali
[22:02]and Fatima and the IM says IMI meaning he went and he
[22:19]sold the armor okay for as we said you know 500 silver
[22:23]coins and according to certain Traditions 400 silver coins nonetheless then he
[22:28]brought those coins to the prophet so I poured the the coins
[22:35]in front of the prophet he says I swear by Allah the
[22:47]prophet did not ask me how many coins were there he didn't
[22:51]ask me how many coins did I bring him is there a
[22:58]lesson here here when the prophet doesn't ask IM Ali how many
[23:05]coins did you bring there is a lesson what's one lesson we
[23:16]can derive from this part of the narration drun question anything that's
[23:32]a given aid aid definitely he would trust Amir uh fully had
[23:39]no doubt in IM Ali's actions or intentions but is there something
[23:43]else we can understand um I think he um he doesn't care
[23:50]the prophet doesn't care about the amount of money he knows who
[23:53]he was giving his daughter to so the prophet I'm not going
[24:00]to say he doesn't care but Prophet is teaching us here that
[24:08]you know um a person a man a father should not be
[24:13]super picky in regards to his daughter's dowy the dowy is a
[24:21]secondary issue the primary issue in marriage is not having an expensive
[24:26]diary or a wedding that costs $20,000 or $40,000 the primary issue
[24:36]in marriage is finding finding the right spouse for your son or
[24:41]your daughter that's the main issue here I'm talking to parents if
[24:44]I'm talking to people who want to get married then I would
[24:47]tell them the primary issue is to find the right spouse for
[24:51]yourself find the right person the M who's who has good morals
[24:59]who Pi or the who's she has good morals she's patient she's
[25:03]tolerant so on so forth and Pious obviously for parents it's essential
[25:08]that they focus on what not on the diary not on the
[25:13]wedding these issues will come regardless focus on what on the spouse
[25:20]on finding the right husband for your daughter or the right wife
[25:27]for your son that's the most important issue right what we call
[25:33]the suitable match the suitable spouse for your son or your daughter
[25:40]before I continue I think brother Hussein had a question Hussein you
[25:45]have a question husin Shar um it got solved got to answer
[25:58]okay on then it says says meaning the prophet was a generous
[26:05]man he says he was generous in fact he was the embodiment
[26:10]of generosity here the prophet summon was one of the companions of
[26:22]he was black he was habashi from ABIA modern day Ethiopia and
[26:26]he was a loyal a a loyal follower of he was one
[26:33]of the companions who did not backstab IM Ali after the prophet's
[26:36]death and after died did not performan for anyone except one individual
[26:52]that's it he would not perform aan for the you know the
[26:59]uh the individuals who opposed he wouldn't but when asked him to
[27:07]perform Adan he did it after's death s so he yes very
[27:34]okay I don't recall him being there I'd have to check again
[27:41]but I don't recall him being there uh he was basically told
[27:44]to leave certain individuals who opposed told him to leave uh yeah
[27:56]yes kind of yeah he went to sh sham and he died
[28:02]in sham yeah he died in sham but he was a good
[28:07]man he was a good man so bil was summoned byas Allah
[28:13]and the prophet uh the prophet gave him uh a bunch of
[28:15]silver coins and told told him to do what here it says
[28:19]which could mean one of two either Allah you know grabbed silver
[28:26]coins with his hand such that it filled his hand the silver
[28:29]coins filled his hand or he did that and he put those
[28:34]silver coins in the hand of B he told him go and
[28:44]uh buy perfume with these silver coins for my daughter Fatima then
[28:51]the tradition continues it it says that the prophet also commanded um
[28:56]Sal he commanded to buy uh a mattress for S zah and
[29:09]a few pieces of clothing and then the Imam says let me
[29:18]just send the next part of the tradition he says he says
[29:42]I observed patience and days passed and I wouldn't mention anything to
[29:50]in regards to meaning the IM would not tell the prophet y
[29:55]Allah I want to live with my wife wife I want to
[29:59]move into the same house he wouldn't mention that to the prophet
[30:02]although he did want that thing to happen he wanted to live
[30:07]with he says so discontinued until I entered upon told the IM
[30:25]oh Ali why don't you tell the prophet Sall that you want
[30:31]to live with fa as then you want the wedding to take
[30:36]place and you want to you know start your marital life with
[30:47]he told that I am shy because of my shyness I I
[30:55]cannot mention this thing to or anything similar to it so here
[31:00]what do you understand you understand that is teaching us that being
[31:09]shy from your father-in-law in such uh phases is is normal right
[31:20]was extremely close to Allah their relationship was beyond mesmerizing and was
[31:27]beyond WR the prophet raised him s so he treated Ali from
[31:35]his childhood like a son and the IM treated like a father
[31:41]then uh then again we can't forget that he was his cousin
[31:48]his direct cousin then again you know he was his on the
[31:53]day of which we mentioned previously the prophet chose to be his
[31:59]spiritual brother he was the spiritual brother of he was his his
[32:06]main Aid he was his successor the so their relationship was Beyond
[32:11]close in fact the prophet says sallu Al that at a certain
[32:17]phase he and Ali were one light Allah created one light right
[32:21]and then Allah split that light into two one portion became Muhammad
[32:30]and the other became Ali even then although he's extremely close to
[32:38]he says shinness is what prevents me from mentioning these issues to
[32:51]so here here the IM is teaching us that it is normal
[32:58]in fact it's proper for the groom to be somewhat shy of
[33:03]his uh [Music] father-in-law intervenes and she tells him enter upon the
[33:16]prophet and the prophet will know what is going through your mind
[33:26]he says at that point I entered upon the prophet but then
[33:32]I came out as in he came out without mentioning anything I
[33:36]entered upon the prophet once again and I came out once again
[33:42]without mentioning anything all because of what because of his shyness told
[33:54]him I assume that you you want the the the wedding to
[34:01]take place you want to basically live with your wife I told
[34:09]him yes may my father and mother be sacrificed for you this
[34:14]is what I want he told him tomorrow inshallah you will move
[34:22]in with your wife meaning tomorrow the wedding will take place and
[34:25]you will start your marital life with the Lady of Light here
[34:32]we realize that the narration is this part of the narration is
[34:39]quite short right which explains what happens when uh what happens uh
[34:43]prior to uh the wedding ofi better terms it's quite short when
[34:51]it's informing us of Ali going to and uh wanting to mention
[35:01]to the prophet that he wants the wedding to take place but
[35:03]there's a second tradition which gives more detail and this one you
[35:09]can find it in the book for let me also share the
[35:24]tradition the students who are present you have you have the tradition
[35:28]right in front front of you it's on the back of the
[35:38]paper by the way the the tradition I was reading was in
[35:42]front of you on the paper huh whatever we were reading a
[35:47]few minutes ago it was on the paper with you so if
[35:49]you flip the paper you'll find this tradition over here let me
[36:04]just send the students online the Hadith so this one is in
[36:23]for which obviously is not a source of Hadith it's a book
[36:28]of s it's a book of it's a book about the biography
[36:33]of fatim it's called the house of Sorrows it mainly focuses on
[36:38]the tragedies of and it's called the house of Sorrows because when
[36:45]passed away unfortunately the people certain people were Disturbed from F's crying
[36:52]they were Disturbed from her crying so she had to leave leave
[36:59]Medina and go to Bak to cry over in IM Ali built
[37:03]a house for her that was called the house of Sorrows and
[37:09]up until the days of shd Hussein sh that house was still
[37:16]in Bak today unfortunately you won't find it in Bak but up
[37:20]to the days ofus the house was still there nonetheless uh it
[37:27]mainly for focus on her what on her sorrows on her tragedies
[37:30]but it also has narrations about her marriage and her virtues so
[37:36]in that book she Abbas obviously cites some of the books of
[37:41]Hadith and he say he says after that incident one month passed
[38:12]and in that month I would pray behind the prophet sallallah alai
[38:15]wasallam and I would go back to my house so IM Ali
[38:21]had officially sought lady Fatima's hand and the prophet obviously welcomed him
[38:27]the prophet was thrilled to hear that the IM wanted to marry
[38:29]Fatima zah agreed Allah subh had given the command that Ali should
[38:36]marry Fatima Fatima should marry Ali after these incidents the IM says
[38:40]one month passed one month and in that month I would pray
[38:46]behind and I would go back to my house but I would
[38:56]not mention anything pertaining to uh fa as I wouldn't tell the
[39:02]prophet that I want to live with her I want the wedding
[39:03]to happen Etc says than the wives of the Prophet they intervened
[39:24]so in the previous tradition it mentioned right here it's mentioning the
[39:29]wives the wives of the Prophet which could mean that Sal was
[39:33]talking on behalf of the other wives of or it could mean
[39:39]that not only Sal spoke to IM Ali other wives as well
[39:42]did so they told him should we ask to uh should we
[39:55]ask to to uh basically allow you to live with should we
[40:03]ask him should we tell him that you know Ali wants the
[40:08]wedding to take place I told I told them go ahead do
[40:25]so was present and she told oh messenger of Allah if if
[40:42]Sor if Khadijah was still alive she would have rejoiced upon witnessing
[40:51]the wedding of fa the reception of fatim surely Ali wants his
[41:03]wife meaning he wants to live with his wife so we ask
[41:15]let Fatima Rejoice by allowing her to live with Ali and let
[41:25]us rejoice as well through this beautiful reception this beautiful wedding um
[41:35]Sal I'm pretty sure you've heard of this name in in the
[41:43]season of was a very good lady a Lady Of Heaven said
[41:47]if anyone wants to look at uh uh a person or a
[41:53]lady from Heaven meaning a lady who will enter Heaven then let
[41:56]him look look at she supported after the prophet's death regarding the
[42:04]issue of fed she was one of the witnesses that brought and
[42:08]witnessed in favor of fatim regarding the land of fedak and her
[42:16]son aan was one of the martys of uh H he was
[42:25]marted in H so here the tradition says Prophet saidai why doesn't
[42:45]Ali ask me why doesn't he ask me to allow him to
[42:48]live with his wife for certainly we were waiting for him to
[43:02]do so as in I was expecting that he would come and
[43:05]speak to me about this issue half one aliam told the prophet
[43:31]it seem Ali was present he told the prophet uh shinness stopped
[43:35]me from doing so because I'm shy I'm unable to mention this
[43:42]issue to you I'm unable to make that request here the prophet
[43:56]addressed his wives and he told them who is present now this
[44:01]is a very important word when he says who is present why
[44:04]because up to this point you'd imagine you'd imagine that uh the
[44:13]women are standing or sitting in front of he's also present in
[44:18]front of them right you'd imagine that it's a mixed Gathering possibly
[44:22]right but that's not the case because in in this day and
[44:29]age we're used to mixing with the opposite gender especially in in
[44:32]the west when you read these Traditions you might think that you
[44:37]know the wives of were in front of he was in front
[44:43]of them there was no no barrier but that's not the case
[44:46]yes the wives were present but what does the prophet say he
[44:52]says who is here which means that he's not seeing them with
[44:54]his eyes does he know who is there yes he does he's
[44:58]a prophet Sall Al he knows with his prophetic knowledge who's behind
[45:01]the curtain but the fact that he says who is here means
[45:04]there's a curtain and the wives of are behind that curtain so
[45:12]IM Ali is not you know seeing them and they're not seeing
[45:17]him Mak sense this is an important point because when you read
[45:26]the traditions of and then you read or hear that for example
[45:29]someone entered let's say Upon A nonah man entered upon or some
[45:37]nonah entered upon let's say keep in mind that the tradition doesn't
[45:45]imply doesn't imply that there's no barrier when it says he entered
[45:52]upon her doesn't mean that there wasn't any physical curtain or barrier
[45:58]between the zah or jaad or similar ladies and the nonaham men
[46:02]on the contrary usually there would be a barrier thus you see
[46:09]when Z delivered her F sermon she delivered it from behind what
[46:18]a curtain she was not standing on a Podium or on a
[46:23]you know on a chair or something Sim SAR to a chair
[46:28]and she delivered the sermon no there was a curtain between her
[46:31]and the man which meant that the man heard her voice but
[46:36]they did not see although she was in full hij she was
[46:39]wearing a cloak that was so wide it was covering all of
[46:44]her pure and blessed body so the prophet says who is here
[46:55]some narration say thatn body a definitely yeah she said uh there
[47:15]was another narration I heard that it's a whole story there's a
[47:19]background towards it like was asking the companions in the MOs what
[47:22]is the best for a woman to do or something like that
[47:28]and then I think it's the same day next day replies for
[47:32]a man to not yeah because she would be the first person
[47:45]who would Implement her own advice right or her her own recommendation
[47:50]it is best for ladies not to see men nor to be
[47:58]seen by men so son I have a question yes okay so
[48:05]you're saying in no for the marriage for Imam Ali and Fatima
[48:08]uh two narration happens and they're different right so one is uh
[48:18]when uh B when the prophet gave B the companion um the
[48:22]silver coins to go by uh perfume I think you said M
[48:28]and um Sal to go buy piece of clothing in a mattress
[48:34]so IM Ali was uh wanted to ask the prophet but he
[48:38]was too shy and so IM Sal told him go see him
[48:42]he's gonna know what you want yep okay and then the prophet
[48:49]Al in you want to marry my daughter so okay tomorrow will
[48:52]be it and then the other narration you're saying no it took
[49:01]a month so there's a contradiction contrad know know it's different the
[49:12]second narration is different but it doesn't necessarily contad contradict the first
[49:18]one yeah I know it doesn't it just adds adds more details
[49:21]okay but is it is it the same like the next day
[49:27]they got married like which one is more accurate for the tradition
[49:30]the other one said a month well the here this one is
[49:36]saying the last one we read it's saying that the Imam waited
[49:39]for a month the first one we read said that he remained
[49:46]patient for days now days right uh days possibly might imply a
[49:56]month because one month equates 30 days s so uh there's there's
[50:01]no contradiction here um even then we can say something else which
[50:10]is when he says that I remain patient for an amount of
[50:15]days this does not negate the fact that he remain patient for
[50:21]a whole month because suppose that when he said he meant let's
[50:24]say seven days or 10 days it wouldn't contradict him remaining patient
[50:29]for a month because 10 days or seven days are part of
[50:36]one month okay but the first tradition I you know it said
[50:40]doesn't the request that's after the prophet after IM Ali enters upon
[50:45]him two times and then comes out and he tells him I
[50:50]assume that you want you know the wedding to take place the
[50:51]Imam says yes tells him okay tomorrow tomorrow it's going to happen
[50:56]now we didn't get to that point yet in this narration oh
[50:59]okay good okay make sense okay thank you no problem so I
[51:05]wanted to mention second narration because it gives more details J and
[51:10]um we're going to see that it has a few points that
[51:15]we need to shed light on as in we it has a
[51:19]few points it holds a few points a few lessons that we
[51:21]should um that we should focus on uh inshallah subhah wa tala
[51:29]for one of those you know one of those points which we
[51:34]should focus on is the word of who is here which indicates
[51:44]that there is a curtain or some sort of barrier between the
[51:47]men and the women so here um Sal spoke and she told
[52:02]him that it's me Sal and here is z meaning Z who
[52:04]was one of the good wives of the prophet and here is
[52:08]Fana and fana she names other wives of what is going to
[52:14]tell them inshallah next week if we are still alive will continue
[52:18]narration we'll take a 10-minute break and then we'll take our Juris
[52:24]Prudence class alhamdulillah m
