[0:00]foreign [Music] foreign last year we started the stages of the Hereafter
[0:57]class and we mentioned that in this class we're going to look
[1:03]at the different stages or the main stages that the human being
[1:08]goes through um from the moments in which his soul is extracted
[1:15]from his body up until the day of judgment up until he
[1:22]enters heaven or Hellfire God forbid and last year alhamdulillah we were
[1:27]able to analyze the first stage amongst the stages of the Hereafter
[1:33]which is the last stage in this world so it's a transitionary
[1:40]stage it's a stage where a person's transferring from our current world
[1:46]to the uh infinite World of the hereafter and that is the
[1:55]stage of sakuratil mode or call it sakaratelmot we mentioned the challenges
[1:58]that a person faces or at least might face in that stage
[2:04]and what can be done from now based on the words to
[2:12]make the moments of sakuratil mouth easier to facilitate the affairs and
[2:21]the moments of sakaratan mode we also mentioned that amongst the obstacles
[2:28]that a person faces before departing from this world is the Obstacle
[2:34]of hadina what's the Obstacle of adilah we mentioned that foreign the
[2:45]devil tries to mislead the human being one last time before the
[2:50]human departs from this world so before a Believer leaves this finite
[2:58]world is shaytan or one of the Devils comes to him and
[3:07]tries to instill doubt in his heart in regards to what in
[3:11]regards to the truth doubts and for example Allah so that the
[3:23]person may die as a disbeliever or at least die in doubt
[3:29]and doubt of what in doubt of the truth is achieves his
[3:33]goal then the human being will be doomed in the hereafter however
[3:37]Allah the narrations assists the believer at that point he helps him
[3:47]once again now we know that Allah helps us assists us throughout
[3:55]our lives but there's also Divine assistance given to the believer at
[4:02]the time of that he does not allow the devil to mislead
[4:08]uh that believing slave so Allah AIDS the believer in one way
[4:14]or another and the believer remains firm he does not give in
[4:18]to the devil's tactics then we mentioned if you remember a bunch
[4:26]of Deeds that can be done by now uh that can be
[4:30]done from now to help us when shaytan tries to mislead us
[4:38]at the time of that in better terms there are Deeds that
[4:41]can be done from now which will keep a person on the
[4:48]straight path and keep him faithful until his last breath so we
[4:53]mentioned several Deeds if you remember one of them was a Dua
[5:01]a supplication taught by Imam Assad which should be recited after every
[5:06]mandatory prayer it's not wajid but it's recommended it has that effect
[5:12]one of the Deeds that we mentioned possibly the last one last
[5:17]year was a Salat a prayer that is done on the Sundays
[5:24]of uh delkada it's done On Any Sunday uh in the month
[5:32]of the and we read a lengthy tradition that described the reward
[5:40]of the person who performs that simple yet important Salat today we're
[5:45]gonna carry on where we left off and we're going to mention
[5:50]other Deeds that can be done from now which will keep our
[5:55]faith firm and will protect us or contribute in protecting us from
[6:00]deviation at the time of death the first one we mentioned today
[6:07]is a Dua supplication mentions in the chapter of ali-amran Allah mentions
[6:17]the supplication of those who are firm and knowledge meaning or their
[6:26]shihas the supplication of their followers nonetheless what does this application say
[6:33]realize when Allah mentions these supplications in the Quran which start with
[6:42]Rabbi or rabbana he's teaching us to say the same so they
[6:49]say that is let me send you the verses with the English
[7:03]translation and then we'll explain the verses briefly foreign section our Lord
[7:30]make not our hearts to deviate what does that mean we know
[7:38]Allah does not mislead people it is not misguide human beings rather
[7:43]Allah guides us to the street path however sometimes as we've said
[7:55]multiple times the human being will persist at being misguided and will
[8:02]give his back to Allah [Music] and will commit awful Deeds to
[8:10]the point Allah will abandon him and he will allow him to
[8:17]be deviant in other words he will allow him to deviate so
[8:23]in this Dua found in Surat Allah is do not allow us
[8:35]to go astray do not allow us to deviate it's as if
[8:43]we're telling Allah it's as if we fallible human beings or telling
[8:51]Allah if you see us committing sins and falling into minor or
[9:01]major sins then even then keep on helping us keep on assisting
[9:08]us and do not abandon us because if you abandon us if
[9:11]you let go of us what's going to happen if you do
[9:15]not provide us with guidance we're gonna deviate and once we deviate
[9:19]we will be doomed make not our hearts meaning our souls to
[9:28]deviate after thou Hast guided us a right and grant us from
[9:37]the mercy here they ask Allah for special Mercy or a great
[9:45]form of Mercy one can come to this conclusion if he has
[9:51]you know a bit of knowledge regarding Arabic grammar and he sees
[9:55]how the the verses worded so when they say and grant us
[10:02]from thee Mercy they're asking for special Mercy or great Mercy from
[10:10]Allah and I believe we all know that all of us are
[10:13]in need of God's mercy in this world and the next surely
[10:22]Thou Art the most liberal Giver is the one who gives but
[10:32]there's a difference between is the person is the the being that
[10:39]gives you something is the being who gives an abundance so he
[10:46]keeps on giving they tell him and that justifies why they ask
[10:52]Allah for Mercy why are they asking Allah because he said he's
[10:56]the one who gives in abundance and indeed a person who turns
[11:05]to Allah will not come back empty-handed a person who turns to
[11:12]God and asks Allah to fulfill his need will not come back
[11:16]empty-handed either Allah will give you what you want or not and
[11:22]if he does not give you what you exactly want then be
[11:27]certain he's going to give you something better than what you're asking
[11:34]for for example we might ask Allah for you know certain worldly
[11:39]uh Pleasures or blessings and sometimes Allah for a certain reason for
[11:46]a certain wise reason will not give us the specific thing we
[11:54]want does that mean Allah let us down no it means he
[11:57]has something better in store for us and I'll prove my point
[12:01]see when you do Dua the least you are receiving is what
[12:08]is reward the least the least you're getting from the Dua is
[12:12]a reward from Allah in Heaven because Dua is a form of
[12:14]worship and trust me the reward that Allah gives the human being
[12:25]in heaven is much better and much greater than that worldly item
[12:32]or worldly blessing we ask Allah for subhanahu wa so a person
[12:41]who turns to God will not come back empty-handed or NASA our
[12:50]Lord surely Thou Art The Gatherer of men on a day about
[12:58]which there is no doubt meaning you will gather the human beings
[13:00]at Allah on which day on the day of judgment you will
[13:06]gather them for what for his son to question them for a
[13:13]reckoning and there is no doubt in that day why is there
[13:15]no doubt in that day they present a proof why there is
[13:20]no doubt uh in in the day of judgment so they they
[13:26]provide a proof confirming that there is no doubt in that day
[13:30]which is what the last part of the verse surely Allah will
[13:43]not fail his promise will not break his promise see Allah promise
[13:49]the human beings and promised the Believers that there will be a
[13:56]day of judgment there will be a day in which he will
[13:58]reward the Believers a day in which he will punish the disbelievers
[14:04]a day in which he will retrieve the rights of the oppressed
[14:07]from their oppressors he promised us many times in the Quran and
[14:12]many times through the words of salamatullah does not break his promise
[14:22]why he is not able to do it he's able to do
[14:26]it he's able to do it but he'll never do it because
[14:29]it's improper and Allah is too perfect he is perfection itself he's
[14:37]too perfect to commit a deed that's evil or about or improper
[14:55]now you might ask how do we know that reciting uh these
[15:04]verses or at least the first one or at least the first
[15:09]part of the first one how do we know that this will
[15:16]help us in regards to alhadillah and will you know protect us
[15:22]from deviating at that point of Our Lives when our lives are
[15:27]coming to an end the answer is there is a narration by
[15:35]Imam telling us to use this verse to be protected from deviation
[15:38]the Imam says as you can find the narration goes back to
[15:57]Samar IBN maharan he says [Music] recite this word our Lord do
[16:19]not allow our hearts to deviate after you have guided us recite
[16:25]it recite it abundantly he's us so take the habit of reciting
[16:34]this supplication at least every once in a while once a week
[16:38]for example if not every day once a week or once every
[16:44]two weeks keep on reciting it throughout your life then he says
[16:47]foreign do not feel safe from deviation this is a an important
[17:00]word and a dangerous one as well you're saying do not feel
[17:05]safe from deviation meaning today you might be guided but you never
[17:09]know what will happen tomorrow if you're guided right now it does
[17:15]not mean that you have necessarily succeeded in the Hereafter why why
[17:22]because the test is still running the test is not over even
[17:29]if you've passed several tasks in your life you're still being tested
[17:37]and the test will keep on running until your last breath if
[17:41]you remember we said this and we'll say it again every part
[17:45]of our life is a test whether it's something we like or
[17:50]dislike whether it's a happy moment or a sad moment it's a
[17:55]task from Allah during sad moments Allah wants to see and of
[18:01]course he knows the outcome will you be patient or not during
[18:04]happy moments he also wants to see and he already knows the
[18:10]outcome will you be thankful or not so everything is what everything
[18:14]is a test happy moments are a task sad moments are a
[18:18]test receiving a particular blessing is a task losing a particular blessing
[18:22]is a task Etc so the task keeps on running today I'm
[18:26]guided inshallah tomorrow am I guided or not I need Allah's help
[18:36]subhanahu what are there were people who were guided but then they
[18:45]deviated like Iblis like like any and others so we ask Allah
[18:59]not to be afflicted with what those people were Afflicted with foreign
[19:21]for protection from deviation especially near the end of our lives thus
[19:30]you realize in other supplications they ask Allah the following they say
[19:43]allahumma foreign this is something around these lines Ya Allah let the
[19:50]end of our Lives be a good ending meaning when our lives
[19:58]come to an end let us be in a state that pleases
[20:02]you let us leave this world as Believers number one and let
[20:05]us be in a state in which we're doing something that you
[20:11]are pleased with how beautiful is it for example if someone right
[20:16]before he dies he you know recites for example or right before
[20:24]he dies he fulfills the need of a particular believer which is
[20:27]one of the best Deeds you could do or why right before
[20:32]he dies you know he reads a book about and seeks knowledge
[20:38]and we're told by rasulullah to seek knowledge from the Cradle to
[20:44]the Grave here we remember the heroes of Ashura and how each
[20:57]one of them had an impeccable stance on the day of Ashura
[21:00]which was his last stance before his soul deported to the hereafter
[21:14]like this is one deed which helps us against what illah do
[21:21]we have another one yes alhamdulillah we have plenty we have plenty
[21:28]of Deeds the second one for today is none other than this
[21:36]we have the Lady of Light this doesn't be as you may
[21:44]know has many effects and many Secrets one of its effects is
[21:51]protecting the person from deviation at the time of that how do
[21:54]we know this from the following tradition which I sent you on
[21:57]the chat section the tradition is found in foreign [Music] he tells
[22:30]him oh about harun we command our children to perform this Fatima
[22:36]peace be upon her just as we command them to perform prayer
[22:43]yasubhanallah this statement in itself tells you a lot about the importance
[22:49]of Zara for we know that after Salat is what is not
[22:58]worship it's not mandatory it's recommended it's the best talking the best
[23:05]invocation that you could recite after Salah you know we have a
[23:09]lot of talkibat to perform after Salat and if someone wanted to
[23:15]do every single takib after his prayer he might not finish in
[23:19]an hour or two so usually people don't have enough time to
[23:25]perform all the takibat so we're asked what's the best talking or
[23:33]you're asked right people ask what is the best talking after prayer
[23:36]the best talking is that's it yeah but it's short even if
[23:43]it's short it doesn't have to be super long for it to
[23:48]be the best so it's not about quantity it's about quality Imam
[23:53]assadic says we command our children to perform this just as we
[23:58]command them to pray so when they raise their children they obviously
[24:05]teach them to pray and they also teach them to perform for
[24:11]example after the prayer they want their children to what to hold
[24:17]on to that here is teaching me and you how to raise
[24:23]our children this is a Jafari recommendation regarding raising children when you
[24:30]raise your child make sure to teach him or her Salah number
[24:32]one and also command them to recite then he tells them who
[24:43]and foreign cling on to it don't let go of it you
[24:56]don't let go of it how you keep on performing this for
[25:05]example after every mandatory prayer right so you keep on doing it
[25:14]throughout your life what is the effect of that foreign and has
[25:35]been Afflicted with what with unhappiness that's the literal translation of the
[25:42]Hadith and I'll explain what he means in a bit inshallah so
[25:48]he's telling him that whoever adhered to Tasman that person would not
[25:55]become a shake shaki is an unhappy person in this context what
[26:02]the Imam means is a person who dwells in Hellfire because the
[26:11]Dwellers of Hellfire will be afflicted with unbelievable grief hence they will
[26:19]be what unhappy the Dwellers of Heaven will be afflicted with unbelievable
[26:23]happiness hence they will be what happy thus you realize that Quran
[26:33]divides the people on their judgment into what into those who are
[26:39]unhappy and those who are happy side now what does that have
[26:46]to do with our topic well if adhering to Islam protects you
[26:57]from it protects you from being a Shockey one who's unhappy in
[27:04]the hereafter then that means when you die you die with belief
[27:09]you don't lose your belief before death consider it to be you
[27:19]know the fuel which keeps the fire of belief igniting within your
[27:24]heart this is the tradition of I want to narrate another tradition
[27:35]by Imam al-baqar salaam it does not mention Adida but since we're
[27:40]talking about this I wanted to mention this extra tradition as well
[27:44]foreign [Music] statements he says the best form of tahit through which
[28:39]you can worship Allah why does he consider it Fatima to be
[28:54]a form of tahmeed to be an invocation through which you praise
[28:57]and thank Allah well number one because part of is saying 33
[29:04]times alhamdulillah all praise belongs to Allah number two when you say
[29:11]Allahu Akbar Allah is greater than to be described or subhanallah Allah
[29:16]is exalted when you say those student invocations you're also thanking Allah
[29:21]how so you're thanking him through the invocation because when you want
[29:29]to thank Allah you can do it in two manners number one
[29:32]you can literally thank him through your tongue by saying thank you
[29:35]Ya Allah or alhamdulillah or praise belongs to Allah number two you
[29:42]can thank him through your actions by doing a deed that pleases
[29:50]God so for example when I pray salato SOB I can praise
[29:52]the intention of what thanking Allah I'm praying to get closer to
[29:56]Allah and I'm thanking him through my Sonata it's as simple as
[30:03]that I am thanking him through my zakat I'm thanking him through
[30:07]you know uh treating my mother and father with care and respect
[30:12]even if you don't say shukran with your tongue the deed itself
[30:17]is a form of thankfulness foreign [Music] would have given that Fatima
[30:52]here Imam bakit is reminding us that rasulullah is the one who
[30:57]gave Zara so we're saying if there was a tahmeed a form
[31:02]of tahmeed better than this would have given that form of tahit
[31:09]to his beloved daughter Fatima interestingly he uses the verb it says
[31:16]what does that mean when you say in Arabic it means that
[31:28]someone gave someone else a particular thing or a particular gift without
[31:34]asking for compensation this is what we call nehla but when you
[31:43]ask for compensation then that's not Aina so the second deep which
[31:59]helps us against deviation before death is do we have a third
[32:17]deed yes we do the third one for today is reciting reciting
[32:31]the chapter of the Believers the chapter called The Believers in the
[32:42]book we have the following tradition by Imam Assad he says now
[32:50]it's called [Music] but uh based on how the Imam Ali Salaam
[33:01]words his narration you can uh he could you can call the
[33:10]the Surah meaning this goes back to what to Arabic grammar so
[33:17]if you if you have some knowledge regarding Arabic grammar you'll know
[33:22]that uh here is uh could could be moved off in a
[33:29]you can consider it to be a modafinlay for that reason you
[33:32]can say and what we need nonetheless he's talking about so he
[33:39]says foreign his life comes to an end Allah will bestow happiness
[34:02]on that person which means he'll be from the Dwellers of Heaven
[34:08]which means his life when his life comes to an end he
[34:12]will be in a state that pleases Allah Allah will not be
[34:16]angry at him based on the wording of the narration we understand
[34:23]that reading once in your life once is enough right is enough
[34:32]to do what to lead you to uh to heaven and it's
[34:38]enough to protect you from deviation at the time of death provided
[34:45]that we don't create blockages through our evil Deeds through our sins
[34:53]which stop the effect of from taking place okay sister Sofia asks
[35:06]you have to read it every day so as we said based
[35:10]on the the wording of the narration it seems reading it once
[35:15]is enough but again a person has to do what has to
[35:18]be careful from creating blockages through his evil Deeds that will stop
[35:25]from taking place so what can we understand from this narration we
[35:46]can understand the following that if someone reads and believes in its
[35:53]content and he strives to apply what Surah says then he'll be
[36:01]what he'll be protected from the beach [Music] in foreign um will
[36:37]lead a person where it will lead him to happiness in the
[36:43]Hereafter of course will protect the person from deviation at the time
[36:52]of death and when his life comes to an end he will
[36:54]be in a state which pleases Allah but then he adds and
[36:59]he says if someone takes the habit of reading every Friday and
[37:06]that person his residence in heaven will be with the prophets and
[37:12]The Messengers where in Alfreda Alfredo bear in mind Heaven consists of
[37:20]levels and based on the Traditions the highest level of Heaven is
[37:26]called ferdaus so when the Imam says Allah the literal translation of
[37:34]and ferdausen Allah is the in the um highest or you can
[37:46]translate it to in the ferdaus which is the highest point so
[37:51]the Imam Ali salaam is saying one of two either he's saying
[37:57]this person will be in firdaus and then he says Allah to
[38:03]tell you that in ferdaus is the highest point in heaven that's
[38:08]the first possibility the second possibility is he's saying that El ferdaus
[38:14]itself consists of levels there's a lower level infidels and a higher
[38:21]level or a highest level infidels and this person who reads every
[38:28]week will be in the highest level of the federals those are
[38:35]two possibilities personally I inclined towards the first one more but Allah
[38:45]meant in all cases the person will be aware he'll be not
[38:50]only in heaven but he'll be in with the prophets and The
[38:56]Messengers sister Eva asks is reciting it the same thing as listening
[39:10]to it uh listening to it definitely is beneficial but I can't
[39:14]say it has the same effect so if we want to gain
[39:19]the effect that the Imam alaihissalam is talking about uh let's recite
[39:26]it someone is not able to recite Quran he can uh you
[39:31]know um he can use the Kara in that half transliteration transliteration
[39:40]and you don't read the Quran through transliteration at the same time
[39:46]he can read the translation so he can you know understand um
[39:51]uh the the meanings of the verses that he's reading on top
[39:57]of that what would be even better is listening to a Quran
[40:00]reciter and just following him in his recitation so you open the
[40:06]Quran all right you choose your reciter for example or other reciters
[40:14]and you follow their recitation you're welcome bye here you see once
[40:38]again a beautiful manifestation of Allah's Mercy when you see that there's
[40:45]a simple deed a simple deed right uh which gives you such
[40:51]a great benefit or such a great reward a simple deed such
[40:57]as reciting Surat in can protect a person from what from deviation
[41:05]and lead him to Eternal happiness happen again as I told you
[41:11]what we can understand the least we can understand from the narration
[41:16]is that if someone recites the Surah believes in its content and
[41:20]strives to apply what is in the Surah then he will be
[41:26]protected from deviation foreign this is the third deed for today we
[41:40]have a fourth deed to mention [Music] but our time is almost
[41:49]up all right let me stop here where this class will take
[41:57]a small break and then we'll continue with the second class alhamdulillah
