These are lessons given about the stages of the hereafter. In these lessons, light is shed on the various stages that a person goes through in the afterlife, and the challenges/frights, punishments or rewards that a person faces or might face when living these stages.

[0:29]Allah all right before ashur we were looking at uh the stage

[0:55]of s we're still in that stage and that is the first

[1:01]stage from the stages of the Hereafter and the last stage from

[1:04]the stages of aun so it's a transitionary stage and that is

[1:12]when the soul is being pulled out of the human's body up

[1:17]until now we've covered multiple topics regarding s we've mentioned the difficulties

[1:24]that a person goes through when he's about to pass away we've

[1:27]also mentioned what are certain Deeds we can do from now in

[1:31]a that will make our moments in s easier meaning they will

[1:41]facilitate those deeds will facilitate the Affairs or the matters of Sak

[1:46]we also mentioned what is the danger of losing faith God forbid

[1:54]before dying and losing our test in uh in in aun um

[2:00]not losing our test sorry fa our test in um so we

[2:04]covered all those topics and uh today inshallah we want to focus

[2:11]on two points number one we want to start with a narration

[2:15]by IM Ali in which he gives an admonishment to his companions

[2:19]and to us and we are always in need of these admonishments

[2:23]because they cleanse our souls remind us of Allah subhana wa tala

[2:29]and the Hereafter and bring us closer to God subhanahu wa tala

[2:34]especially if we're you know sinking in the uh oceans of sins

[2:39]God forbid secondly we're going to mention what should be done or

[2:48]what uh is recommended to be done by those who witness a

[2:54]believer in s we mentioned what can someone do before he dies

[3:00]before he gets to that stage to make his moment in s

[3:05]or S easier but what about us if I have a family

[3:08]member or a friend or you know a brother in faith who's

[3:13]dying in front of me what is my duty in that case

[3:18]what can I do or what should I do in regards to

[3:19]that believer that's what we will focus on inshallah I don't think

[3:24]we'll have enough time to cover the the topic fully today so

[3:26]there will probably be a continuation to this topic next week if

[3:29]we are still alive inshallah all right so we're going to start

[3:38]with a Hadith the narration in by IM Ali I sent you

[3:51]the Hadith on the chat section so the the the author of

[4:04]that book says that IM is near to have said the commander

[4:15]of the faithful went by the graveyard which graveyard it does not

[4:20]say perhaps he went by the graveyard of perhaps he went and

[4:27]buy a different graveyard and it is narrated that he went by

[4:33]graveyards not just one multiple graveyards so he said he saluted those

[4:43]who had passed away peace be upon you oh people of the

[4:51]graveyard and oh people of the soil or the dust he says

[4:57]this because we know that the human being is buried in inside

[5:00]the earth so inside the soil or the dust he tells them

[5:11]no I have something to tell you no be certain that other

[5:17]people are living inside your houses so it's as if he's saying

[5:22]if you if you ask us about your houses the houses are

[5:26]still existing but there are new inhabitants in those houses perhaps their

[5:32]relatives their inheritors or other people God knows or you can read

[5:41]it he says ask for your wealth after your death your wealth

[5:48]has been distributed so your wealth exists but it has been taken

[5:55]by someone else again perhaps by their inheritors and ask for your

[6:06]spouses they've gotten married to other individuals and this applies to both

[6:11]you know males and females a husband loses his wife after he

[6:15]loses his wife he naturally remarries a lady Me loses her husband

[6:21]after she loses her husband very likely she'll get married again some

[6:27]women say they you refrain for marriage after they lose their husbands

[6:30]but it's not W on them to do so it's Halal for

[6:35]them to get remarried so the IM the spouses have gotten remarried

[6:42]this is the piece of news that we have for you so

[6:47]he's informing them of what has happened in it's as if he's

[6:53]saying that life continued after you and that is the sad reality

[6:57]right someone passes away life continues life has to continue but what

[7:05]piece of news do you have for us what do you need

[7:11]to tell us or have to tell us here someone answered the

[7:19]IM someone answered the IM meaning someone who had already passed away

[7:27]and Allah subhah waala based on the context we understand Allah created

[7:32]this miracle for IMI so that the people such that the people

[7:36]heard they heard what that person who passed away was saying if

[7:42]we go and visit the the the who passed away they hear

[7:45]us and they know about us J they know about us but

[7:49]we don't hear them in this case because IM aliam was speaking

[7:52]to the Dead uh Allah subhana wa tala excuse me Allah T

[8:00]allowed those who were with the IM to hear the response of

[8:04]a person who had passed away so what did he say it

[8:09]says here someone answered the Imam and his voice could be heard

[8:20]but his figure could not be seen they did not know who

[8:23]who it was obviously Ali knew peace be upon you oh commander

[8:38]of the faithful and may Allah's blessings and mercy descend upon you

[8:44]ask for the piece of news that we have to uh to

[8:50]say or the the piece of news that we want to convey

[8:56]he said I have three things to tell you number one we

[9:02]found what we were promised that's number one and I want you

[9:08]to think about this because it's a deep message we found what

[9:13]we are promised meaning we found that death was a reality one

[9:17]might say do people even doubt in death theoretically no practically yes

[9:24]right theoretically no one doubts in death but on a practical level

[9:28]some people behave as if they will not die especially certain tyrants

[9:34]who you know shed blood of thousands and thousands in fact millions

[9:39]of people if they believed in death and believed in the Hereafter

[9:42]they wouldn't do that so we found death to be a reality

[9:48]what else did you find we found what came after death we

[9:51]found it there is a there is for example there truly is

[9:56]an angel called the angel of death who came to us and

[9:58]took our souls we found that there is something called Heaven There

[10:04]is something called Hellfire so he says we found what promised second

[10:18]the second thing he wanted to say he wanted to convey the

[10:24]second message he wanted to convey was we gained whatever we brought

[10:28]forth and that's also a deep message meaning whatever we gave in

[10:34]the path of Allah subhah wa tala we found it waiting for

[10:39]us you give Sak right for example Sak is a very clear

[10:44]example you give Sak you pay charity when you're paying charity at

[10:49]first glance it seems like you're losing money but Quran says you're

[10:56]not losing anything why because number one that money that you've paid

[11:01]as s you'll find it waiting for you in the Hereafter you're

[11:06]placing it in the Divine Bank the bank of Allah subhana wa

[11:09]ta'ala the Eternal Bank secondly Allah tala returns he gives you back

[11:18]whatever you paid in but he multiplies it so the least you

[11:25]get by paying sodak is that the the money you paid will

[11:29]be multiplied by 10 pay a dollar you get $10 from Allah

[11:31]tal you pay $2 you get 20 at least that's a promise

[11:36]from Allah subhah wa taala and if he wants to give more

[11:38]he can give more he's the all generous so he says whatever

[11:45]we brought forward we we actually gained it we didn't lose it

[11:51]we found it in in the Hereafter does this only apply to

[11:57]money what do you think no does it only apply to money

[12:00]it applies to other matters as well right like what you think

[12:04]of an example Salah says helping a Believer so when you get

[12:23]for example when you sacrifice your time the path of Allah you

[12:30]sacrifice your energy right for the sake of Allah you do something

[12:37]good to please Allah to help your community those deeds you'll find

[12:46]them where waiting for you in the energy you're wasting is not

[12:53]actually being wasted being stored in the time you're wasting is not

[12:58]being wasted there's no such thing so no such thing as wasting

[13:02]my time on H you're not wasting time you're making use of

[13:09]your time then he says the third message is he says but

[13:16]we've lost whatever we left behind we lost it for example we

[13:22]go back to money you have an amount of wealth you don't

[13:27]give it you don't use it uh in a way that pleases

[13:33]Allah subhana wa taala rather you just store it you keep it

[13:35]on the side you might think that you're gaining but in reality

[13:41]you're not gaining you're losing because you're not you're not giving it

[13:45]in a way you're not giving it or using it in a

[13:49]way that pleases Allah subhana wa tala one might say so I'm

[13:52]not allowed to you know store a little bit of money for

[13:54]myself for my children in case for example I die no you're

[13:59]allowed that that's fine you store money for the sake of your

[14:02]children provid that you pay your homes you pay your zakat you

[14:05]pay your mandatory payments that's allowed but in this case when you're

[14:09]storing an amount of money for your children in case you pass

[14:13]away consider that deed to be a deed done right because you

[14:22]want to help your children as well J nonetheless here the Hadith

[14:27]when it says now we've lost what we left behind it indicates

[14:33]that when one does not make use of the items that Allah

[14:38]subhana waa gave him in the path of Allah is not actually

[14:43]gaining anything he's he's he's losing those items because it's only a

[14:47]matter of time until he passes away and he abandons those items

[15:04]so here the person who passed away wants to wanted or wants

[15:11]to give the message that we should make use of our time

[15:17]in a d before it's too late and use the blessings that

[15:21]Allah T has given us to please Allah in any way or

[15:28]form that pleases God so the IM turned to his companions did

[15:36]you hear what he said he said yes oh commander of the

[15:44]faithful that being said you heard him right now gather and collect

[15:54]Provisions where the best provision is fearing Allah tal the best provision

[16:02]is piety here the the Imam reminded them and reminds us of

[16:09]the quranic verse which basically tells you that one day you're going

[16:19]to travel you're going to travel to the Hereafter and naturally when

[16:24]we travel we take what we take luggage bags with us right

[16:28]in the luggage bag back you'll find what you'll find the accessories

[16:33]the items and the clothing that you'll need throughout your travel in

[16:40]fact what's interesting is when we travel usually we'll bring items with

[16:45]us that we might need as then we're not certain we're going

[16:50]to need these items but we we assume perhaps all need this

[16:55]so I'll bring it with me method on lotion perhaps I'll need

[16:58]lotion I'll bring it with me perhaps I'm going to get sick

[17:01]I'm not sure I will get sick I'm not sure but perhaps

[17:04]I will get sick I bring medication with me just in case

[17:09]a warm jacket and other kinds of accessories or items if this

[17:16]applies to a person's travel in then it should apply to a

[17:21]person's travel where right the ultimate travel the the the the um

[17:29]Everlasting travel so knowing that ultimately it's only a matter of time

[17:34]before we travel before we go to uh a wise man or

[17:40]a wise woman will try to prepare himself or herself as much

[17:44]as possible for that trouble by doing as many Good Deeds as

[17:50]possible before it's too late every good deed counts and you never

[17:55]know which Good Deed leads you to heaven sometimes we perform a

[18:02]slight light a light a small a tiny Good Deed but that

[18:05]tiny light a small Good Deed leads us to heaven on the

[18:11]day of judgment Subhan Allah so this is the admonishment of the

[18:19]commander that being said let's go back to someone is in the

[18:32]state of he's in what we call right for example you have

[18:38]a family member or a friend who's very sick and the doctors

[18:41]you know they um they assume that it's only a matter of

[18:46]hours or days before he passes away and then you start to

[18:48]see that his state is changing and you know the the his

[18:55]oxygen level is is dropping his heart meth and beats are also

[18:58]dropping so you assume that these are the final moments sometimes you

[19:03]know right you know that someone is in that state so now

[19:05]what do we do what should be done here we have to

[19:08]keep in mind that there are recommended Deeds several recommended Deeds that

[19:14]can or should be done but then again there's a deed that's

[19:18]waj there's something waj that should be done so we'll start with

[19:24]the waj and then we'll go to the recommended Deeds what is

[19:32]waj when someone is in the state of s let me go

[19:34]to the board so we can write these points down I always

[19:42]like to use the board yeah let's go to the board move

[19:54]the camera all right so we're going to write what should be

[20:28]done by fellow Believers when another believer is about to die meaning

[20:56]in the state of sakarat M in the stage of sakarat M

[20:58]about to die so we'll start with the w deed what's W

[21:08]based on mandatory precaution according say is we must direct the believer

[21:24]towards the towards the No No you want to come in h

[21:46]we talk about I'm recording I'll give you the details after if

[21:53]you want to come in you can come in yeah no problem

[21:56]we must direct the believer towards the here we're talking about the

[22:03]the the body the body so how do we direct them towards

[22:18]would be facing the okay this is based on mandatory precaution according

[23:35]the bath that we give to someone who passed away it's not

[23:37]wag on him to take the bath it's wag on his on

[23:41]us to give him the bath because he passed away right so

[23:46]his te is done but it's wag on us to G give

[23:50]the the bath to that person who passed away uh to wash

[23:56]his body basically so because uh right now is that today Tuesday

[24:08]no problem so because the moments of s are connected uh to

[24:23]uh to the topic of in in that chapter or sub chapter

[24:29]the will mention not only they'll mention what should be done during

[24:33]they'll mention and they'll mention what comes after sorry one might object

[24:45]and say but this is not part of it's not part of

[24:48]but it's connected to it it's connected to the topic of death

[24:51]so all of those the rulings regarding the laws regarding the laws

[24:58]regarding burial shrouding the body they're all mentioned in that uh chapter

[25:05]of in the chapter of specifically when they speak about mentions what

[25:14]he says that if the person who's passing away is able to

[25:17]direct himself to the on his own then based on recommended precaution

[25:25]he should do it provided that he will not feel pain or

[25:28]will not get harmed if he does it on his own half

[25:45]one a correction he should do it on his own based on

[25:51]recommended precaution if he's able to do so yeah disregard the issue

[25:54]of of pain and and heart okay now one might say but

[25:59]is this even possible yes sometimes the person who's passing away is

[26:03]still awake and he's aware of what's happening around him and he

[26:08]realizes that these are his final moments an example of that a

[26:18]clear example is someone who's mean fighting and gets shot and then

[26:22]you know he's taking his last breath but his last breath but

[26:25]he he's aware of what's Happening beside him so he he he

[26:32]can if he has the power of course he can face the

[26:46]okay another point that sayani mentions is it is recommended to take

[26:56]the person who's passing away to his Mah meaning to the place

[27:02]where he would pray if uh if he is going through a

[27:11]tough time during sakar sometimes people go through tough times what we

[27:18]call in Arabic so it seems that the soul is being pulled

[27:22]out of the body but the that that event in itself is

[27:30]quite intense so if it's intense if it's being pulled out with

[27:34]difficulty then it's recommended for us to take that individual where to

[27:39]his m to the place where he would pray provided that moving

[27:47]him there will not cause him any pain or harm okay so

[27:53]let's write that down this is recommended it's not W but it's

[27:56]recommended it's seems that taking him to his Mah will help him

[28:05]so the second point we want to write is if the person

[28:22]goes through difficulty as his soul is departing from this world then

[28:59]it will be recommended that we take him to his Mah meaning

[29:24]the place where he would pray provided that he doesn't go through

[29:48][Music] pain or harm because of that again when we talk about

[30:16]difficulty we're talking about that's what is being pulled out um but

[30:22]not with ease okay this is recommended now one might tell me

[30:35]but sometimes we're unable to do that if you're unable to to

[30:39]do that then no problem it's it's not sometimes you can't do

[30:43]it for example your family member is in the hospital on the

[30:46]bed in the ICU J and you can't move him anywhere else

[30:52]if you move him then he'll die so you have to keep

[30:54]him there until Allah T takes his soul yes that's possible uh

[31:05]he's in he's in the hospital that's a good question by the

[31:08]way he's in the hospital J and the the you want to

[31:14]make him face the uh you can simply move the bed move

[31:19]it in a way where his feet will be towards the directed

[31:24]towards the yeah yeah yeah J now the usually the the staff

[31:37]should accommodate you know they should accept these matters if you explain

[31:41]to them that it's a religious issue and and whatnot then they'll

[31:44]they'll help you do it but I think we're out of time
