[0:14]foreign is foreign in our last lesson we shed light on a
[0:52]narration by imam al-baqara that spoke about the nawafil prayers the daily
[1:01]nawaf and prayers and the reason we shed light on that narration
[1:04]is that imam al-baqara at the end of the narration said that
[1:09]he who does not perform the nawafil prayers the daily now and
[1:15]prayers will have disobeyed allah but he won't have sin he won't
[1:26]have sin and he mentioned that the one who refrains from inferiba
[1:30]from the mandatory daily prayer as in he doesn't pray the man
[1:36]mandatory daily prayers that person is a kafir is a disbeliever hence
[1:42]we said in the dictionary of salam those who do not pray
[1:47]or kuffar even if they are reciting or they recite the two
[1:53]testimonies thus they should rush towards learning salat and praying as soon
[1:59]as possible so they may exit the realm of disbelief and enter
[2:04]the realm of belief the realm of imam so the tradition confirmed
[2:14]that not every form of disobedience is a sin whereas the opposite
[2:22]is correct every sin is a form of disobedience then we looked
[2:26]at the gift that allah azzawajal gave adam after he approached the
[2:31]tree and that was the gift of ishtaba so after adam approached
[2:50]the tree and disobeyed god he reached a new level of perfection
[2:56]he became the mujtaba of god so allah selected him and brought
[3:01]him even closer to him so the position of adam salam instead
[3:07]of dropping actually elevated which indicates that did not sin although he
[3:15]did not reach the position of are much higher than adam and
[3:23]the rest of the prophets [Music] of course i believe we all
[3:31]know when we say we're talking about muhammad hence no one should
[3:37]object and say that you know you're favoring the imams over uh
[3:42]rasulallah muhammad on the contrary rasulullah muhammad so we mentioned the gift
[3:53]that allah gave adam and we mentioned the meaning of and how
[3:57]the root letters these three letters when they're considered to be root
[4:11]letters in a specific word they they point to what to gathering
[4:19]they point to gathering a particular thing hence i told you if
[4:26]you remember that uh a pond in arabic is called jabia it's
[4:29]called haut but it's also called jabi why because it gathers different
[4:36]parts of water inside of it today inshallah we want to shed
[4:47]light on what we want to shed light on uh adam's words
[4:51]after the disobedience and his response you see after adam alaihissalam approached
[5:01]the tree he spoke to god subhanahu wa so we want to
[5:05]see what did adam say and what was he taught by god
[5:12]after he disobeyed him and after he came down to earth those
[5:18]are the main two points we want to focus on insha allah
[5:27]wa if you remember if you remember maybe two classes back or
[5:33]maybe three classes back we mentioned how allah called adam when adam
[5:38]approached the tree there was a call from allah to adam and
[5:46]eve and that call was mentioned in surat so i want to
[5:48]start with the call although we've explained it just so we can
[5:53]understand adam's response [Applause] [Music] let me send you the verse this
[6:11]is verse 22 of by the way it's not the whole verse
[6:19]but it's the last portion of it didn't i tell you not
[6:28]to approach that tree the tree that all of a sudden became
[6:31]distant and didn't i tell you that the devil is an apparent
[6:43]enemy to you both to both of you adam and eve this
[6:46]word by the way indicates that the devil is an enemy to
[6:53]all humans whether they're males or females wants to lead us to
[6:58]our doom whether we're males or females so he comes to the
[7:01]males and tries to lure them into sins as he knows their
[7:07]weaknesses and he comes to females and tries to lure them into
[7:12]sins as he also knows their weaknesses now some of our weaknesses
[7:17]are the same and some are different he's an expert in this
[7:25]field so he knows from which angle to attack you thus we
[7:28]need to be strong and seek refuge in allah azzawajal and use
[7:35]the teachings of the quran and to fight him because ultimately this
[7:39]fight won't end it's an ongoing battle up until our last breath
[7:46]after allah calls adam and eve mentions that they responded to god
[7:55]so this is the first response that we want to analyze tonight
[7:58]what do they say here's the verse they said our lord we
[8:21]have been unjust to ourselves what our and if thou forgive us
[8:34]not and have not mercy on us we shall certainly be of
[8:39]the losers here we have multiple points to mention firstly firstly this
[8:45]verse also can be used to say that adam committed a sin
[8:54]because the verse is explicitly saying adam and eve confessed that they
[9:00]did injustice to themselves secondly they tell allah on us then we
[9:14]will be from those who lose from the losers so this verse
[9:20]is also somewhat problematic when we come to the infallibility of adam
[9:26]as in you have people who will tell you adam committed a
[9:32]sin adam you know he wasn't infallible all of the time because
[9:37]here the verse is saying that he committed injustice what's the response
[9:44]to this question the response to this question is the same response
[9:49]we mentioned when we analyzed the verse in surat al-baqarah when allah
[9:54]says to adam and eve not to approach the tree he said
[10:02]don't approach this tree last you shall become from those who are
[10:06]unjust we explain the meaning of injustice what was the meaning of
[10:10]injustice it was that adam and eve will put on themselves more
[10:19]than they can bear so they will put a burden on themselves
[10:24]by doing what by leaving a luxurious gordon in which they don't
[10:35]experience any hunger or thirst or other forms of pain and going
[10:42]into a world in which they'll experience any form of pain a
[10:48]world in which they'll get hungry they'll get thirsty they'll get sick
[10:51]they might get killed like habit was killed by kobe etc the
[10:56]list goes on so there is no problem actually with this verse
[11:00]if we link it to the verse in surat al-baqarah we say
[11:04]adam and eve when they said our lord we have done an
[11:12]injustice to them to ourselves confirming that they put on themselves more
[11:17]than what they can handle but who said that's a sin who
[11:28]said putting a burden on yourself putting a heavy a heavy load
[11:33]on yourself is a sin on the contrary sometimes it's not a
[11:39]sin sometimes it's it's a good deed take the example of a
[11:46]person for example who stays up at night worshiping god especially during
[11:53]the holy nights you know there are a few nights throughout the
[11:57]year that are very important and very whole like number one [Music]
[12:03]right night of destiny the most important night throughout the whole year
[12:07]a lot of meaning alhamdulillah do they feel tired by the end
[12:15]of life yes they do do they feel sleepy yes they do
[12:19]they probably sleep tall next day yes if not till after but
[12:23]ultimately it's good they're they're worshiping allah and they're making use of
[12:31]a unique night similarly you have the second most important night throughout
[12:34]the whole year the night of the fifteenth of shaaban meaning the
[12:40]eve of the fifteenth of the eve of sahib is a man's
[12:45]birth then again you have for example which passed last week the
[12:54]night of wishes the first evil friday in rajab and other important
[12:59]nights nights like the eve of the 15th of rajab so staying
[13:03]up at night worshipping allah is not is not the easiest it
[13:11]comes with difficulty when you do it you are putting a burden
[13:14]on yourself but you're doing something that allah loves similarly sometimes you'll
[13:23]have students especially university students studying for you know 10 or 20
[13:31]hours straight yes they take breaks here and there but they study
[13:34]excessively especially when they have an exam or when they have a
[13:40]project and the due date is very close you find university students
[13:44]sometimes not sleeping for a night or maybe two nights straight lesh
[13:50]why because they want to study and they want to acquire good
[13:56]marks so are they putting a burden on themselves yes they are
[13:59]it's a heavy load but it comes with what it comes with
[14:06]benefit it's it's not as they say it's not for free they're
[14:09]getting they're acquiring some sort of benefit from it so long story
[14:15]short when the verse says our lord we've done injustice to ourselves
[14:23]the injustice here is the same injustice which was mentioned in surat
[14:29]al-baqarah if you remember it was verse 35 of surah so the
[14:45]word vladimir sorry the word value and the word does not indicate
[14:50]that adam and eve sin now we've answered the first question the
[14:59]second question which comes to mind when reading this verse is why
[15:05]would they ask for magathera they said what are then our lord
[15:13]we have been unjust to ourselves and if thou forgive us not
[15:17]and have not mercy on us we shall be certainly we shall
[15:22]certainly be of the losers so why ask for a metaphyra if
[15:28]they did not sin that's also a question which comes to mind
[15:31]by the way this question doesn't only pertain to adam it pertains
[15:36]to multiple infallibles such as musa and other prophets when we read
[15:42]the quran we find that the quran tells us the prophets used
[15:47]to ask for amerifera we used to ask for from god when
[15:52]we come to the world of traditions 70 times daily every day
[16:01]he would say i seek allah 70 times and he would say
[16:13]70 times which means i return to allah or i turn back
[16:21]to allah 5 000 times daily 5 000 times in general they
[16:34]would constantly seek so the answer we're going to present right now
[16:43]regarding adam helps us understand it helps us understand why other prophets
[16:51]and or imams would ask for the first point i want you
[16:59]to keep in mind is i don't fully agree with the translator
[17:05]and the reason i present the translation of a particular translator and
[17:11]then i kind of criticize it sometimes is to show you that
[17:18]you you you cannot fully uh depend on the translation of the
[17:24]holy quran when you have a translator who's translating the quran for
[17:30]you in english or french or spanish or any language other than
[17:36]arabic that person is conveying what he understood so he's giving you
[17:42]a translation of what he understood from the quran this is why
[17:48]it's so important to learn arabic because when you learn arabic and
[17:51]you become an expert in arabic you can look into the quran
[17:55]and try to understand what allah is saying obviously using the guidance
[18:02]we can't detach ourselves from but if a person fails to learn
[18:08]arabic properly then he'll be like a captive you're captivated you're captured
[18:14]by who by the mufasirin or the translators you can't escape their
[18:22]interpretations so it's really important if you want to look into the
[18:28]quran and understand it more it's really important to learn arabic and
[18:36]become an expert in that field here one would will say what's
[18:44]the meaning of if it's not forgive us then what's the meaning
[18:52]well let's go back to the literal meaning of is the literal
[18:58]meaning of masifira is concealment it's not forgiveness you see the word
[19:08]magifirah and the word and the word and and similar words all
[19:14]of these words have three root letters what are the root letters
[19:21]here sorry these three root letters point to the meaning of concealment
[19:35]not forgiveness take the example of um a particular helmet that soldiers
[19:47]would wear when they would go to the battle methalam was the
[20:01]king of the jews in khaibar and was really strong the tradition
[20:05]says he had on his head it's it's a helmet some sort
[20:14]of helmet that would protect marhaba's head but when you're facing amir
[20:20]al-mu'min no helmet will do you any help the tradition says amir
[20:25]al-mu'min struck him on his head and the sword penetrated through the
[20:31]helmet and through the head of marhaba until it reached his molars
[20:35]meaning his teeth that's the strike of so is a word used
[20:46]to refer to a particular helmet that troops would wear during the
[20:52]days of rasulallah why is it called because it conceals it conceals
[20:59]the head and it also protects the head from harm or damage
[21:07]so if we understood this if we understand this point we'll understand
[21:14]that when adam and eve say they're saying allah if you won't
[21:20]conceal us that's what they're asking for they're asking for concealment asking
[21:29]for concealment not necessarily for forgiveness here you might say why do
[21:37]we use the word for forgiveness when we want to ask allah
[21:43]for forgiveness we say why do we use that word why do
[21:48]adults use it when they teach us how to repent to allah
[21:52]the answer is the answer is um when we sin when we
[22:01]sin we deserve to be punished by allah so when we say
[22:08]rabb we're asking allah to conceal us number one from jahannam from
[22:16]the punishment of god it's as if we're telling him ya allah
[22:19]place some sort of blockage between us and the punishment so we
[22:24]may not be punished that's one number two we also deserve to
[22:33]be exposed we deserve to be exposed i mean if allah wanted
[22:35]to expose us he could right he could put some sort of
[22:40]sign on us saying this is a sinner this guy or this
[22:42]girl this man or this lady right now sin he could do
[22:47]that on the day of judgment some people will be exposed this
[22:51]is one of the worst punishments in the hereafter some people will
[22:54]be exposed but in front of who in front of the angels
[23:03]the prophets and the rest of the world hence we ask allah
[23:09]azza we ask him not to expose us in front of everyone
[23:12]on the day of judgement in sha allah he won't because he
[23:17]is a sattar subhana so when we say or we're asking allah
[23:25]to protect us from hell fire or different sorts of punishment and
[23:33]we're asking him to conceal us from exposure we don't want to
[23:39]be exposed in front of fellow human beings or jinns and other
[23:44]creations but the main point is what the main point is literally
[23:53]means concealment now the third point we want to mention concerning this
[24:07]verse is why would adam and eve ask for concealment and mercy
[24:10]from allah azzawajal you see they're saying if you won't bestow your
[24:18]might on us and if you won't bestow your mercy upon us
[24:23]then surely we will be from those who lose why are they
[24:27]asking this because at that point at that point in fact in
[24:35]all points throughout their lives they were in need of allah and
[24:45]at allah point if you remember we said adam and eve felt
[24:52]uh changes in their bodies and the clothes that they had on
[25:00]them fell off right the clothes of that garden nibasil janna fell
[25:05]off their bodies why because they were changing and it was time
[25:10]to move from the garden to earth so they felt needs that
[25:13]they had not felt before such as hunger thirst and other needs
[25:20]so when they say when they say they're asking allah for help
[25:27]it's as if they're telling him right now we're feeling changes and
[25:32]we're in need of you so you may you know help us
[25:41]fulfill our needs and you may uh bring us to a state
[25:46]of tranquility we feel that there's a sense of agitation in us
[25:51]there are a lot of needs that have popped up we need
[25:55]you to help us fulfill those needs that's one this is one
[26:02]reason why they would ask i repeat because at that point we
[26:09]felt certain needs that they had not felt before so they were
[26:14]going through difficult times hence their best option in fact their only
[26:19]option was to do what was to seek aid from the one
[26:23]who could truly help allah second secondly adam and eve in fact
[26:35]all prophets in fact all imams in fact all human beings and
[26:39]all creations are always in need of allah they're always in need
[26:44]of allah's concealment and allah's mercy without allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala we can't
[26:51]do anything we need his help in every second we need his
[26:55]help even right now yes even right now right now we're breathing
[26:58]right and we're and i'm talking you're listening to me you need
[27:02]allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala so you can listen so i can breathe etc
[27:12]without allah's mercy without his aid we can do absolutely nothing again
[27:18]this doesn't only apply to us fallible human beings that applies even
[27:23]to adulthood the greatest creations of god they knew that without allah
[27:31]they couldn't do anything so it's only normal for adam and eve
[27:36]to ask allah azzawajal for concealment and mercy what i'm trying to
[27:43]say here is even if adam and eve didn't disobey god even
[27:48]if they didn't approach the tree they would still be in need
[27:54]of god's concealment and god's mercy so it's only wise to ask
[27:59]for his concealment his methyl and his mercy if you understood this
[28:04]point then you'll understand why the infallibles and other prophets would constantly
[28:16]ask for what foreign from allah azzawajal and why they would ask
[28:22]allah for because they're always in need of it i have a
[28:26]i have a question uh so you're saying um what was adam's
[28:33]words is it this um what you know the whole thing was
[28:46]are those his words yes that was this this is the first
[28:52]word that i wanted to shed light on yeah and this was
[28:55]said apparently in the gordon apparently was said in the garden thank
[29:05]you no problem how do we know what was said in the
[29:08]garden the innu because after this verse allah mentions that he tells
[29:14]them to go down which implies that the words were said where
[29:19]in the garden so this is the first word and it's a
[29:26]quranic word meaning it's it's a word that the quran mentioned regarding
[29:31]now later on hopefully today if you have enough time and if
[29:37]not then next week we're going to shed light on what the
[29:41]narration said the words of adam and eve according to the narrations
[29:53]so the prophets the imams in fact all human beings are all
[30:01]in need of allah's mercy hence it's not bizarre to see the
[30:08]infallibles such as rasulullah performing is 70 times every day or imam
[30:15]al-qaeda performing as tifa 5 000 times every day etc it's not
[30:18]it's not bizarre because they need allah azzawajal they need his help
[30:23]they need his concealment they need his mercy subhanallah not to forget
[30:29]this is the third point not to forget that allah loves when
[30:39]his slave puts himself down for him we shouldn't be arrogant right
[30:45]allah dislikes arrogance he hates it one of his beautiful sermons and
[31:00]all his terms are beautiful in najal balaga it says that ibilis
[31:07]lost 6 000 years of worship through an hour of irritance one
[31:10]hour of arrogance made him lose six thousand years of worship allah
[31:18]arrogance but he loves humbleness he loves it when you put yourself
[31:24]down for him so adam and eve this is what they're doing
[31:27]and this is what what the prophets and what used and he
[31:50]taught him to recite this dua when on the evil friday and
[31:56]on the eve of the 15th of sha'a ban by the way
[32:01]that's how the narration of dua kumail begins his companions that there
[32:07]is a dua that should be read on the eve of the
[32:09]15th of shaaban so who comes to him kumail comes he comes
[32:16]back to the imam and he tells him i want that duha
[32:19]the dua you mentioned that we should recite on the eve of
[32:22]the fifteenth of shaban so he tells him kumail write the following
[32:27]and he begins writing the dua and he as the imam dictates
[32:33]him that important supplication recited that right the imam seeks allah's forgiveness
[32:42]and he puts himself down greatly for a god does that mean
[32:46]not even i be thought of sin no it doesn't it doesn't
[32:50]but that's how advice they put themselves down for god because allah
[32:55]loves that and also to teach us how to seek forgiveness from
[33:01]god the same applies to zainab when you read his duas in
[33:06]sahih for example he says lord my sins have turned me into
[33:19]charcoal look at the beautiful meaning behind this passage saying that my
[33:27]sins have completely contaminated me such that it's as if i have
[33:32]become a piece of charcoal zaid what sin did zaynah abedin ever
[33:36]commit what sin he never committed sins was it when he wrote
[33:46]sahib when he uttered the dua or was it when he taught
[33:53]us the rights of the creator and the rights of the creations
[33:55]through his three treaties of rights or was it when he wept
[34:03]for his father when he never sinned but he puts himself down
[34:10]for god and he teaches us how to speak with allah azzawajal
[34:15]when we sin the same applies to of it so long story
[34:23]short brothers and sisters it's not weird to see adam and eve
[34:27]saying because that is how a close slave of god should behave
[34:43]he should put himself down for god like a third or fourth
[34:50]point i wanted to mention i lost count of the points let's
[34:55]say a fourth point is adam and eve here were extremely polite
[35:03]with god as the mufassirin said why because you realize they didn't
[35:09]ask for concealment and mercy you say how you just told us
[35:16]that they asked for consumeth and mercy yes they asked for those
[35:22]two indirectly but not directly they didn't say ya bestow your mercy
[35:27]and concealment on us they said ya allah if you don't conceal
[35:30]us and if you don't bestow your mercy on us then we
[35:36]will be what from the losers so indirectly they're asking for it
[35:40]but they're not explicitly asking for it and that's due to what
[35:49]that is a sign of their politeness with god it's similar to
[35:55]musa musa if you read his story in surah al-qasas i believe
[36:01]when allah mentions how he killed one of the egyptians and how
[36:07]he went to madyan when he reached madyan and he went to
[36:10]sit in the shade of a tree he said he said my
[36:21]lord i am in need i am a poor man meaning i
[36:25]am needy of you and i'm in need of the good that
[36:30]you've brought down for me realize he doesn't really ask god to
[36:33]give him something he just tells them this is my state to
[36:35]allah right now i'm in need of so and so so it's
[36:39]as if he's telling him i know you're all merciful so please
[36:44]fulfill mine this is a type of politeness when you're speaking with
[36:50]allah azzawajal of course i'm not saying that you're not allowed to
[36:54]ask allah for your need explicitly of course you are allah loves
[36:59]it but then again there are different ways of asking god for
[37:04]your needs sometimes sometimes you'll ask allah azzawajal for your need saying
[37:18]which means you know what i'm going for so you know exactly
[37:25]what i need hence i don't need to explicitly say what i
[37:30]want i don't need to tell you explicitly what i want from
[37:38]you a fifth point we want to mention is if you realize
[37:46]the quran al-karim focuses a lot on the concept of losing and
[37:54]winning where you can say the concepts of the you know losers
[37:58]and the winners in many verses allah mentions that the dwellers of
[38:06]heaven will be successful they will win and the dwellers of hell
[38:16]will lose the loss the loss of those who dwell in hell
[38:21]fire is unbelievable why do we say this because the quran and
[38:26]kareem tells you they don't only lose their belongings what do they
[38:33]lose interestingly it says they lose themselves now i want you to
[38:39]focus with me when a person enters jail or a prison in
[38:47]this world he loses a lot of things correct he's unable to
[38:51]be at his house anymore he's unable to have a lot of
[38:58]the items he used to have such as his you know cell
[39:01]phone his laptop and other accessories in fact when you go to
[39:09]jail you change your clothes right you wear the clothes of a
[39:14]prisoner so even the normal clothes you used to wear you're unable
[39:16]to wear them you lose them when you go to jail but
[39:21]there's one thing that guards and governments aren't able to take away
[39:28]from you even if you're put in jail and that's yourself you
[39:33]will remain to be you even in jail in hell fire that's
[39:42]not the case allah says in the quran that the dwellers of
[39:48]hell fire they lose their family members and they lose themselves what
[39:55]does that mean the lo the loss of the family members means
[40:02]one of two if your fan members end up in heaven then
[40:08]losing them means what that you'll be separated from them because they'll
[40:11]be in heaven and you'll be in hell bought for them if
[40:17]your family members end up in hell fire with you then the
[40:21]loss of your family members means that you lose the individuals who
[40:26]were going to be part of your family had you entered heaven
[40:31]like who like your partners your wives in heaven for example [Music]
[40:42]different they become what part of his family they become part of
[40:48]his family so he will lose the companionship of those who the
[40:54]companionship of the angels and the companionship of fellow believers as he
[41:00]dwells in helpful that's that is the meaning of losing your family
[41:03]members what about losing yourself how do you lose yourself ultimately the
[41:10]dwellers of hell they're the same people who were living on earth
[41:15]such as yazid faraon and other criminals so how do they lose
[41:22]themselves here the mufasirin say losing themselves means that they lose the
[41:30]potential instilled in them every human has a potential the least we
[41:36]can say is every human has the potential to reach a level
[41:39]higher than the level of the angels every human being so the
[41:47]energy or the you know the the potential that was placed inside
[41:54]of you is great it's mesmerizing losing all of that energy all
[42:04]of that potential for the sake of you know unlawful desires in
[42:11]this world is sad it's truly sad so long story short the
[42:17]quran kareem says what it says the dwellers of how not only
[42:20]lose their families but they also lose themselves you're not only losing
[42:28]your you know your laptops your iphones your ipads and similar accessories
[42:34]you're losing your own sound this verse here reminds us of that
[42:39]concept why because adam and eve said if you don't bestow your
[42:50]concealment and your mercy upon us then we will be from those
[42:53]who do do me a favor especially this shah ramadan when you
[42:59]do a khatma when you read the quran from cover to cover
[43:04]focus on the word khasir and its antonym for example faizine and
[43:14]you'll see how the quran focuses a lot on this topic the
[43:19]topic of losing and winning like a sixth point that we can
[43:33]derive from this verse is if a person wants to properly repent
[43:42]and wants to reach high levels of perfection in the eyes of
[43:49]god then he needs to confess his sins to who to allah
[43:54]don't tell other people about your sins you see some people unfortunately
[43:59]have bad habits uh when they sin they go on speaking to
[44:03]others about what they did don't do that firstly it's not good
[44:10]for you and secondly it's not good for your society when people
[44:15]speak freely about their sins without noticing they're encouraging others to do
[44:25]the same because we can't forget we human beings get affected by
[44:30]one another positively and or negatively hence if a person falls into
[44:35]sin he should conceal his sin he shouldn't tell others about it
[44:39]you might tell me what if someone needs advice what if i
[44:42]have a sin that i'm having trouble with as in i find
[44:47]myself sinning performing the same sin constantly i'm trying to stop but
[44:51]i'm not able to stop for some reason and i need advice
[44:55]can't i speak with someone about that of course you can you
[44:59]can but even then you don't need to mention what you did
[45:05]explicitly you can tell that individual the person you trust the wise
[45:10]man or the wise woman that you trust um if someone does
[45:15]x y and z how can for example he stop himself from
[45:20]that specific sin if he's having trouble uh stopping or refraining from
[45:26]that sin what can he do you don't have to explicitly explicitly
[45:29]say i've done so and so and i need help i want
[45:37]to suppose that you get to a point where you have to
[45:41]actually mention what you did to someone if you get to that
[45:47]point then at least don't mention it in front of the general
[45:51]public choose someone who you trust someone that you trust that you
[45:56]really trust someone who will conceal uh who will sorry yes who
[46:03]will conceal your sin and will keep it a secret and only
[46:05]speak to that specific individual so he may help you in short
[46:14]teach us we need to confess our sins to the creator not
[46:20]the creations confessing the sin is essential once someone falls into sin
[46:30]he has two roots he can take the root of iblis or
[46:35]the root of adam when he refrained from prostrating for adam he
[46:44]knew he would excuse me he knew he was wrong and allah
[46:49]showed him that he was wrong even then did he turn back
[46:53]to god and say allah i'm sorry no and up until today
[47:00]he persists at sinning he has made up his mind khalas we
[47:06]are his enemies and he wants to lead us to hell fire
[47:12]with him you know had he turned back to god and actually
[47:19]said ya allah i'm sorry for what i did this was an
[47:23]hour of arrogance i don't know what happened to me i felt
[47:27]arrogant and i you know fell a week before my desires so
[47:33]i disobeyed you now i'm ready to prostrate for adam and i'm
[47:36]ready to repent no matter what it takes be certain allah would
[47:41]have accepted his repentance but the problem is what he never confessed
[47:49]that he was wrong he never said yes you're right i did
[47:54]something wrong on the contrary he was stubborn so we can do
[47:59]the same if we sin we can take the root of iblis
[48:00]where will that lead us to jahannam without doubt or we can
[48:07]take the root of adam adam didn't sin as we've explained multiple
[48:12]times but even then when he approached the tree he didn't try
[48:16]to conceal what he did because he knows you can't do that
[48:20]with god allah knows everything rather he said to allah yes we've
[48:31]done injustice to ourselves so taking the root of adam leads us
[48:36]where it leads us to our salvation and leads us to heaven
[48:44]thus teach us to speak with god and to tell him yes
[48:46]i did x y and z and i did abc etc confessing
[48:53]is important hence i want to share two traditions with you before
[48:57]we conclude tonight in sha allah i thought we'd have enough time
[49:03]to look at the second response of adam but it doesn't seem
[49:10]like it the traditions i'm going to share with you are found
[49:15]in kitable confessing to god regarding your sins and feeling guilt over
[49:31]your sins the first tradition goes back to imam al-baqarah is then
[49:44]i swear by allah only those who confess their sins to god
[49:53]of course only those who confess their sins will be saved from
[49:56]their sins so if you want to be saved you need to
[50:03]admit what you did then he said he said that regret regretting
[50:17]feeling regret over your sin is enough of a repentance you might
[50:26]say how didn't you tell us before that there are multiple conditions
[50:30]for repentance there are but the core of repentance is regret if
[50:38]you actually regret the sin because you understand that you've disobeyed god
[50:42]that feeling of regret will lead you to uphold the other conditions
[50:49]of repentance so it's the core the core of repentance is regret
[50:55]the second tradition says also it goes back to imam al-baqarah it
[51:08]is i swear by allah allah only wanted two things from the
[51:15]people he just wants them to do two things what are these
[51:18]two things the first one is that they admit that allah azzawajal
[51:29]gave them the blessings they have if they admit that allah azzawajal
[51:34]gave them their blessings like health wealth family members faith piety knowledge
[51:42]and other blessings if they admit that all these blessings are from
[51:47]allah azzawajal then allah will increase their blessings what's the second point
[51:51]the second thing allah wants from us he says and he wanted
[52:00]them to admit their sins to admit that they sinned for if
[52:04]they do that allah will forgive them so the path of forgiveness
[52:11]requires you to admit your sins confess your sins to god not
[52:16]to the creations of god subhanahu wata'ala uh bear in mind that
[52:23]the tradition of imam and bacca the second one we read which
[52:25]says allah only wants us to do two things is a deep
[52:30]tradition if you analyze it well if you analyze it well and
[52:36]you dissect it you can understand that all of the commands in
[52:45]the islamic set of laws fall under these two under one of
[52:49]these two things that is mentioned i'm saying this so though so
[52:54]that we don't misunderstand imam al-baqarah because someone might say okay inshallah
[52:59]then from now on i won't pray anymore i won't fast i
[53:03]won't do any of the obligations but i'll admit you know my
[53:07]sins to god i'll confess my sins and all say ya allah
[53:11]yes all these blessings are from you when sha allah will see
[53:14]you in heaven no that's not how it works that's not how
[53:18]it works the hadith of the imam is very deep if you
[53:21]analyze it carefully you'll understand that all of the obligations all the
[53:26]commands of god subhanallah can fall under one of those two things
[53:31]imam al-baqarah mentioned next week if we're still alive in sha allah
[53:37]will mention the second word of adam or his m
