[0:21][Music] [Music] in our last lesson we mentioned a few other deeds
[0:55]that help us or protect us against al hadillah and the note
[1:01]that help us against also protect us from it we mentioned the
[1:07]dua of imam which is the 11th dua of asahifa sajjadiya we
[1:14]said reading that is definitely beneficial and hopefully allah subhanahu wa will
[1:20]answer our call for he has promised to do so as long
[1:26]as we uphold the conditions of supplication when he said call upon
[1:31]me and i shall answer you which means that whenever we uphold
[1:38]the conditions of supplication or say the conditions of the supplement that
[1:45]allah will definitely answer us sooner or later we also mentioned we
[1:55]also mentioned a few other deeds i believe we mentioned two other
[2:03]deeds we mentioned praying on time and we read a lengthy tradition
[2:08]by imam assad explaining what happens at the time of death and
[2:14]how the angel of death helps the believer against the shaitaan he
[2:20]pushes this shaitaan away from the believer if he realizes that this
[2:28]believer did what this believer would pray on time the believer would
[2:35]pray on time last but not least we mentioned advice from imam
[2:38]assad regarding glorifying allah's rights today inshallah we're going to mention other
[2:47]deeds that also protect us from al hadilla and and you'll realize
[2:54]that there are you know there's a good amount of deeds that
[2:57]we can do from now to protect ourselves against al-hadilah and that
[3:04]shows you that allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala doesn't want anyone to fail the
[3:10]test allah azzawajal wants us to pass and he wants us to
[3:13]end up in heaven that is the ultimate goal but unfortunately human
[3:19]beings due to their persistence at disobeying allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala lead themselves
[3:26]into hellfire god forbid so the first deed we're going to mention
[3:31]today is a prayer that one can perform in the kahda the
[3:39]month that we are currently living the qadha al-haram there is a
[3:49]prayer that is recommended to be done on sunday the sundays of
[3:55]the qadha and the reward of that prayer the reward of that
[4:01]prayer is quite enormous part of the reward is that the human
[4:08]being will die as a woman so his his iman his faith
[4:11]will be preserved and when he leaves this world what what will
[4:17]happen he will leave it as a movement which means he will
[4:20]not give in to the devil's whispers at the time of death
[4:27]he will not give in to a shaitaan if the shaitaan tells
[4:31]him to disbelieve or to doubt in the truth again this is
[4:35]part of the reward of the prayer how do we know this
[4:40]we know it from a tradition by rasulullah was one of our
[4:58]grand scholars and uh he was uh he was a scholar with
[5:06]high spirituality when you read his his works the way he talks
[5:11]about allah subhanahu wa ta'ala the way he talks about allah you
[5:17]realize that he has immense knowledge but he also has a really
[5:23]high level of spirituality and connection with allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and
[5:34]so say that in the book mentions the following tradition i'm going
[5:40]to mention it from the book as he cites uh let me
[5:54]send you the tradition before we read it one second sorry so
[6:09]i sent you the tradition on the chat section we still have
[6:14]one last part of it which i will send later inshaallah when
[6:18]we get to it so the tradition says that anas ibn malik
[6:22]anas ibn malik said kharaja rasulullah prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi came out
[6:37]to the people on sunday on which month the month of the
[6:44]qadha which is the month after shawwal and before the who amongst
[7:00]you wants to repent to allah or which one amongst you wanted
[7:05]to repent they said all of us want to repent o messenger
[7:20]of allah so the the muslims the companions of the prophet salallahu
[7:30]they told him what we all want to repent was so he
[7:56]said perform a ritual bath and perform and pray for erica's now
[8:04]when the tradition says to pray for or to perform for rikaz
[8:08]it means that we should perform um two prayers two prayers and
[8:15]each prayer will consist of what of two decades so after the
[8:20]two decades you will be performing the shahood and tesleem once you're
[8:24]done the first two records you'll do the second two decades in
[8:30]each require he says read surat al-fatiha once three times and surat
[8:39]al-falaq and surah once a person finishes his prayer he should seek
[8:55]forgiveness from allah subhanahu wa seventy times now just as a note
[9:02]or a side note this word can be understood as seek forgiveness
[9:11]seventy times in the prayer but it seems that the prophet sallallahu
[9:18]alaihi is talking about doing after the prayer not inside the prayer
[9:25]so it says then seek forgiveness 70 times which means there is
[9:53]no power there is no power nor might save in allah the
[10:00]exalted the great perhaps one day we can explain the meaning of
[10:13]then he says recite the following supplication so after you say say
[10:21]the following so he tells them to call upon allah using two
[10:35]names the name haziz which means the one who is so mighty
[10:39]he cannot be defeated cannot be conquered and which means the one
[10:48]who conceals and forgives abundantly conceal my sins ya allah meaning forgive
[11:00]my sins and forgive and conceal the sins of all believers male
[11:09]and female believers for surely it is only you who forgives the
[11:19]sins now this is what this is the way you perform the
[11:27]prayer as you realize it it is not a long prayer it
[11:31]doesn't take very long to perform it it takes maybe about 10
[11:34]and 15 minutes to finish this prayer but what is the reward
[11:39]of the prayer this is where the prophet mentions the reward he
[11:53]said that any muslim any individual amongst his nation amongst the muslim
[12:02]nation meaning any muslim or a muslim who performs this deed will
[12:07]be called from the sky will be called from the sky what
[12:13]will the caller say is the caller will say o slave of
[12:29]allah o slave of allah your repentance has been accepted your repentance
[12:36]has been accepted and now you can start performing deeds you can
[12:48]you can restart performing your deeds as in you have a fresh
[12:54]start all of your sins have been forgiven all of your sins
[12:57]have been forgiven your repentance has been accepted so it is as
[13:03]if you've been born into the world again it's as if you've
[13:11]just you know started with your days of tech leaf so now
[13:15]you have what you have a fresh start make sure you look
[13:19]at your deeds make sure you supervise yourself well and you choose
[13:26]to do the deeds that please allah subhanahu wa so the caller
[13:35]tells him what yeah for surely you your repentance has been accepted
[13:46]and your sin has been forgiven the prophet says before we continue
[13:57]up to here the tradition does not mention who that caller is
[14:02]who is it for all we know it could be allah as
[14:08]in allah creates a voice allah creates a voice and the voice
[14:14]addresses what that individual or it could be one of the infallibles
[14:18]maybe rasulallah maybe or a specific angel in short the tradition does
[14:28]not tell you who that caller is then the prophet says then
[14:37]an angel makes a second call an angel makes a second call
[14:43]that stems from what from below the throne so the angel calls
[14:49]that individual from below the throne he says o slave meaning o
[15:00]slave of god you have been blessed and your family has been
[15:07]blessed and your progeny has been blessed uh he says someone else
[15:14]will make a call this is the third call addressing who addressing
[15:20]the person who performed this prayer [Music] o slave of god your
[15:31]opponents on the day of judgment will be pleased with you what
[15:37]does that mean who are these opponents well these opponents are the
[15:44]people or the people that this individual will have oppressed or will
[15:51]have done some sort of injustice towards see when we live in
[15:56]in this finite and limited world because we're fallible sometimes we might
[16:02]you know do injustice to our family members or friends or neighbors
[16:10]or companions or co-workers etc it's possible for example one day you
[16:18]slip and you back bite someone now when you backbit this individual
[16:24]you did injustice to him so now he has a right over
[16:30]you he has a right over you and he can ask allah
[16:31]subhanahu wa'ta'ala for his right on the day of judgment one day
[16:37]for example you know you um you get into a fight with
[16:45]someone and you injure that individual right or you physically attack him
[16:53]now he has a right over you of course as long as
[16:57]you injured him or physically attacked him when you did not have
[17:00]the right to do so he has a right over you make
[17:03]sense so in short um the mistreatment we show to fellow human
[17:13]beings when we don't have the right to show them such mistreatment
[17:18]gives them what gives them a right over us on the day
[17:24]of judgement so those people who were oppressed by us those people
[17:29]we did certain forms of in justice towards they can ask allah
[17:35]for their rights on the day of judgment these people are called
[17:38]opponents and so the tradition says here that the person who performs
[17:47]the salat allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala will basically make his opponents pleased with
[17:55]him on the day of judgment so that means his opponents will
[18:07]forgive him his opponents will do what his opponents will forgive him
[18:11]on the day of judgment because of this blessed salah allah will
[18:26]in one way or another convince those people to forgive that individual
[18:47]another angel will call the slave and will tell him o slave
[18:52]of god when you die you will die as you are on
[18:57]the path of belief meaning as you are a believer this is
[19:02]the golden statement that we're looking for in our lesson you will
[19:08]not die as a disbeliever your your faith will not will not
[19:12]disappear before you pass away your faith will remain in your soul
[19:22]until you pass away and your grave will be spacious there will
[19:34]be space in your grave or say space will be made in
[19:42]your grave so it will not be a tight disturbing uncomfortable grave
[19:49]no la tala will make it spacious and on top of that
[19:53]allah will enlighten the grave you know it will not be dark
[19:57]it will be enlightened so another call will be made and the
[20:36]caller will address that person saying o slave of god your parents
[20:43]will become pleased with you now after this word the tradition says
[20:53]this could be part of the prophet's word or explanation or it
[21:00]could be actually part of the call the call that is stemming
[21:06]from the caller means what it means even if they're displeased with
[21:13]you so what the tradition is indicating is if someone's parents were
[21:18]displeased with him performing the salat changes their their say their mood
[21:28]or their perception of their child and they become pleased with the
[21:34]child and your parents have been forgiven subhanallah the parents have been
[21:44]forgiven because of a deed performed by the child that that tells
[21:48]you a lot about the importance of what of having children and
[21:52]raising them while teaching them you know islam teaching them the islam
[21:57]of allah teaching them to be righteous children because ultimately the good
[22:04]deeds they do might might cause the forgiveness of their appearance as
[22:11]in it might cause allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala to to forgive that child's
[22:19]parents now after it says it says here there are two interpretations
[22:39]we can derive from this segment the first one is your parents
[22:47]have been forgiven because of you so for your sake because you
[22:54]did the salah and you are a good slave of allah your
[22:58]parents have been forgiven and your progeny has been forgiven the second
[23:06]interpretation is your parents have been forgiven you've been forgiven and your
[23:11]progeny has been forgiven so the deed doesn't only affect the parents
[23:20]it affects also the children because you've done the salat your sustenance
[23:33]your sustenance will be wide or say will be abundant in this
[23:46]world and in the hereafter all of these segments are part of
[23:54]one call part of one call so we realize that the salat
[24:07]also has an effect on what on on our current life it
[24:12]expands our sustenance in this world and also and it also causes
[24:18]what our sustenance to be wide or abundant in the hereafter bear
[24:28]in mind that there are different forms of sustenance wealth is only
[24:33]one form of sustenance health a good spouse children faith piety smartness
[24:42]clothes shelter medicine all of those are examples of sustenance or manifestations
[24:53]of sustenance ah now the master of the angels or one of
[25:00]the masters of the angels makes a call salam what does he
[25:06]say he tells that person i will come to you with the
[25:15]angel of death what an honor will be present when that person
[25:21]dies and i will tell the angel of death to be gentle
[25:30]with you let me send you the final portion of the tradition
[26:02]i will come with the angel of death to you and i
[26:07]will tell him to be gentle with you thus your soul will
[26:16]be removed from your body with gentleness it will be removed from
[26:20]your body in a gentle manner a manner that is not painful
[26:29]and you will not be scratched by the effect of death this
[26:38]is the literal meaning of the word meaning that basically when the
[26:47]soul is removed that person will not will not get hurt will
[26:54]not feel pain when his soul is departing from his body so
[27:03]we realize that this salat not only helps with doesn't only protect
[27:14]you from al hadidah and then mode it also facilitates the affairs
[27:22]of what sakaratilmat because the soul comes out in a gentle manner
[27:26]it comes out with peace or in a peaceful manner they said
[27:49]what if someone performs the deeds you mentioned meaning that he performs
[27:58]the prayer and the supplication that the prophet mentioned sallallahu is that
[28:16]they're asking him what if someone performs not salat and that supplication
[28:22]the supplication you perform after the salah in a month after uh
[28:27]in a month other than he told them that the effect will
[28:47]be the same the effect will be what will be the same
[28:51]if someone performs this prayer on a sunday in a month other
[28:58]than the qadha for example or muharram then he will receive the
[29:06]same reward the same effects of that prayer will take place however
[29:13]there is a second possibility or a second interpretation for the word
[29:21]fee and that is they're asking the prophet salallahu what if someone
[29:33]performs that prayer in the but does not perform it at the
[29:40]beginning of the qadha he doesn't perform it in the first sunday
[29:43]he performs it say in the second sunday of the qadha or
[29:47]the third sunday or the fourth sunday and so the prophet tells
[29:53]them what mithla the effect is the same so as long as
[29:57]you do it on a sunday in the you will get what
[30:03]the reward of that prayer and the effects that we mentioned you
[30:07]might ask me what leads us to this interpretation what leads a
[30:15]citizen interpretation is the word shahr shahr the word shah literally means
[30:23]month but it also has a second literal meaning and that is
[30:25]uh the crescent moon when the crescent moon is in its first
[30:34]stages in its first stages but it's not extremely small to the
[30:42]point where people can't see it no on the contrary it is
[30:45]you know um apparent for the naked eye so when the crescent
[30:54]moon is in its in its early stages but it is in
[30:59]a phase where people in general can see it with the naked
[31:02]eye it's called what it's called it's called hands i told you
[31:08]there are two interpretations for the for their question either either they're
[31:12]asking will we receive the same reward if we perform this prayer
[31:19]in a month other than or they're asking him what if we
[31:26]perform the prayer on a sunday other than the first sunday of
[31:32]the qadhafi so there are these two possibilities the prophet says so
[31:42]if you know if you want to be precautious and you want
[31:47]to ensure that you receive the reward of this prayer and the
[31:50]effects of this prayer make sure that you perform it in one
[31:56]of the sundays of the now unfortunately for this year we don't
[32:02]have any more sundays in the qadhafi will be um will will
[32:09]finish either on wednesday or thursday i believe today is the 28th
[32:18]sorry so we'll finish either on tuesday to tomorrow might be the
[32:24]last day or wednesday might be the last day of the radar
[32:27]but you can always perform the salat in the upcoming if we
[32:34]are still alive by then insha allah so he says this prayer
[32:51]and these words what i should say in the prayer and what
[32:54]i should say after the prayer one when i was on the
[33:01]night journey ayama usriyabi when i was on the night journey enjoy
[33:18]it now before we continue i'd like to mention a comment regarding
[33:38]the the chain of narrators or specifically one narrator in this hadith
[33:49]i'm not sure if you realize but the person narrating the hadith
[33:53]is anas ibn manik the tradition says so anas ibn malik as
[34:04]you may know was not one of the followers of yes he
[34:09]was a companion of the prophet and he was a servant of
[34:13]the prophet but unfortunately he was not a moali he did not
[34:19]believe in the guardianship and authority and so one might say well
[34:28]how can we you know apply this hadith if anas ibn malik
[34:31]is the narration is the narrator when he is not even a
[34:35]moani and the answer is here the hadith is simply stating a
[34:44]salat that was supposedly taught by rasulallah the content of the hadith
[34:51]does not contradict and does not contradict the you know the traditions
[34:57]and the teachings of it [Music] hence even if anas bin malik
[35:05]is the narrator it's very likely or there is a high chance
[35:09]that whatever is mentioned is true because even though he was not
[35:15]a muwali even though he was not a friend of albert salawatu
[35:20]that doesn't necessarily mean every single word he said was bogus no
[35:27]yes it gives you what this issue of him being uh you
[35:33]know a person who doesn't believe in allah makes you take a
[35:41]stance from anas bin malik and gives room to doubt in his
[35:49]words but that doesn't necessarily mean every single word he said was
[35:54]what was bogus or was a lie it so since the content
[36:01]of the tradition does not contradict does not contradict the quran nor
[36:07]does it contradict the teachings of salawatu allah then we can simply
[36:13]perform the salat with the intention of what does that mean please
[36:23]speak english okay i'll speak english means we're doing this prayer with
[36:30]the intention that ya allah if you want us to do it
[36:34]then here it is we're doing it for you if you truly
[36:38]want us to do it if rasulullah actually taught the muslims this
[36:42]prayer then we are doing it on sunday so please give us
[36:52]the reward mentioned in this tradition makes sense so you can do
[36:59]the prayer without any problem you can do the prayer you can
[37:02]perform it with the intention of meaning ya allah if you want
[37:07]me to perform the salah then i am performing it for you
[37:11]hence please give me the reward that is mentioned in this tradition
[37:18]here a question comes to mind you know what if this narration
[37:31]is a lie what if anas you know fabricated fabricated ally or
[37:37]made a mistake here we have traditions from not one and not
[37:49]two rather several traditions from which tell us that when when you
[38:00]hear a tradition telling you whoever performs a specific deed will get
[38:12]this reward and then you know a specific reward is mentioned if
[38:19]you do that deep with the expectation or with hope of receiving
[38:28]the reward then allah will give you that reward even if the
[38:35]tradition was false someone might say why in the world would god
[38:42]do that i'll tell you why i'm addressing that person who's asking
[38:46]because allah is the old generous the most merciful he has nothing
[38:57]to lose he loves to give azza and so when he sees
[39:00]that i want to attain that reward and i've applied what the
[39:10]tradition said the tradition said rasulullah said whoever does x y and
[39:16]z will receive a specific reward abc jaid i did the deed
[39:23]in hope of getting the reward but on the day of judgment
[39:28]it seemed that you know the fabric the the the narration was
[39:35]fabricated it was not real allah tells me what he does me
[39:38]even though the narration was false i will give you that reward
[39:42]because you perform that deed in hope of getting that reward yes
[39:52]keep in mind that this does not work when it comes to
[40:01]bidah whatever we just mentioned regarding allah giving you the reward giving
[40:07]you the reward for the deed you performed okay this does not
[40:15]apply to innovations when we know that there's a bidha there's an
[40:21]innovation we're not allowed to do it even excuse me even if
[40:27]people say you know what rasulallah mentioned whoever performs this innovation will
[40:37]get a specific reward because we know it's an innovation and the
[40:42]prophet deliberately told us do not do not create innovations and do
[40:48]not you know do not practice or implement innovations do we have
[40:56]an example of an innovation yes we do a clear example that
[41:02]forbade what is known today as salatu tarawi with all due respect
[41:09]of course to our sunni brothers and sisters it is an innovation
[41:13]created by the second cow of um he says it himself hence
[41:22]one should not and cannot perform salat he himself omar says according
[41:31]to sunni traditions that this is a bada but it's a good
[41:39]bidder it's a good innovation that's his word of course not mine
[41:45]so there is no problem in performing the salat that we mentioned
[41:49]we perform it with what with the intention of getting closer to
[41:54]allah and getting the reward mentioned in the tradition if and i
[42:00]say if the tradition was false it was fabricated or you know
[42:05]ana's made a mistake then allah will still give us the reward
[42:09]because he is the all-generous and the all-merciful subhanahu all right all
[42:39]right i think we'll stop here for today i thought we'd have
[42:44]more time to mention at least another deed which protects us from
[42:49]al hadil and then but we'll stop here and insha allah after
[42:56]um after muharram and safar if we're still alive uh i'll keep
[43:01]you updated on when we will resume our classes and we'll continue
[43:07]with the uh the classes uh regarding the hereafter and sha classes
[43:12]and the biography of the prophet classes [Music] ali muhammad was on
