[0:35]in our last lesson we mentioned a lengthy story regarding a young
[0:43]man who went through difficulty at the time of death when he
[0:50]was in sakaratilmat and the reason behind this was that he mistreated
[0:56]his mother was present when this young man was on the brink
[1:04]of death and he told him to say there is no god
[1:09]other than allah but he was not able to say it why
[1:12]because he had mistreated his mom and his mom was not pleased
[1:16]with him at that point however rasulallah told his mother who was
[1:25]also present in the same gathering to be pleased with him and
[1:29]so she became pleased with him for the sake of rasulallah and
[1:34]the prophet taught him a dua he told him to recite a
[1:40]dua which helped him in sakaratil mode it relieved him from difficulty
[1:43]from a good amount of difficulty is a very important dua to
[1:50]be recited during sakaratil mouth and actually even before sakaratil mode it's
[1:55]important that we make this dua part of our daily or weekly
[2:03]or monthly habits it's a very important and very powerful short [Music]
[2:20]so after telling him to recite the dua as we said he
[2:26]was relieved from uh the difficulty he was going through and the
[2:31]story did mention that he was able to say la illaha illallah
[2:35]he was able to say it at the end then we also
[2:41]mentioned uh two deeds that help us during sakaratul mode two other
[2:46]deeds so up until now we've learned that treating our parents with
[2:54]care kindness and respect helps us during sakaratul rahim also helps what's
[3:02]to uphold and and maintain your bonds and ties with family members
[3:10]we've learned that clothing the men giving clothes to a believer such
[3:18]as a shirt or for example uh you know a robe uh
[3:24]a dish dasha any type of clothing giving him clothing to wear
[3:29]that in itself also helps a person during sakaratilmat in fact we
[3:35]mentioned a tradition last week that mentioned four rewards for the person
[3:41]who gives clothing to a brother in faith when i say brother
[3:49]in faith we mean a brother or sister in faith we've also
[3:54]learned that giving the believer sweets giving him sweets feeding him sweets
[4:00]does what it also relieves a person uh or exempts him from
[4:07]the bitterness of death we mentioned a tradition on this record last
[4:13]week but we also mentioned that the same tradition has another version
[4:18]there are two versions for that narration one version says the bitterness
[4:25]of death and one version says the bitterness of the stance what
[4:35]stands the stance of the human being on the day of judgment
[4:39]today inshaallah we're going to look at other deeds that also help
[4:47]us during sakarat al-maut the first one is a supplication very short
[4:58]uh supplication or you can say avikr an invocation a very short
[5:04]invocation that has that powerful effect which in fact the effect of
[5:07]uh making you feel comfortable at the time of death this dua
[5:15]or this thicket this invocation is the following is that it yes
[5:38]that's it this short invocation has the power to do what to
[5:44]relieve you to make you feel comfortable at the time of death
[5:51]how do we know this obviously we know it from us the
[6:05]book is foreign whoever [Music] says these words any believer any believer
[6:45]who says these words will receive benefit or will receive a gift
[6:53]in this world and in the hereafter the imam says i guarantee
[7:01]that he will receive a gift or a benefit in this world
[7:10]and the next meaning in the hereafter is he says ask for
[7:19]the gift or the benefit he receives in this world it is
[7:26]the following the angels will give that person glad tidings at the
[7:32]time of death they will give him glad tidings meaning when he
[7:37]is about to die the angels will do what will tell him
[7:44]you have nothing to fear you will be from the dwellers of
[7:49]heaven you will not be punished by allah subhanahu wa this gift
[7:58]to be honest is uh beyond description this is a great gift
[8:06]a beautiful gift because you could imagine how much worry or stress
[8:13]a person goes through at the time of death when the angels
[8:19]tell him you have nothing to fear your future meaning your future
[8:24]in the hereafter is a bright future you will be living in
[8:29]heaven this word will take away all forms of sadness and all
[8:35]forms of worriness from the human being at that point he will
[8:41]truly dwell in what we call everlasting happiness so this is the
[8:48]first gift he receives if he says the invocation that the imam
[8:52]alaihissalam he says ask for in the hereafter he will receive the
[9:20]following benefit or gift for every word he utters out of the
[9:26]words in this invocation allah will give him a house in heaven
[9:31]he will give him a house for every word he utters in
[9:35]that invocation uh he will give him a house in heaven bear
[9:41]in mind the hadith bait house but god knows how that house
[9:50]is or what that house is and how it looks like and
[9:55]what it contains for one house in heaven is better and greater
[10:03]and more luxurious than all of the mansions and castles of this
[10:09]world put together that's one house let alone having multiple houses in
[10:16]heaven so the hadith says house but god knows how spacious that
[10:20]house is for all we know it could be the size of
[10:26]a planet if not more for all we know it could contain
[10:31]in fact it does contain it does contain what your mind cannot
[10:36]even imagine i remember hear the word of asia she says this
[10:58]word according to holy quran in surat she says let me pull
[11:06]out the verse for you now my lord build for me a
[11:39]house with you in heaven in house a house with you in
[11:47]heaven come on bear in mind allah is not physically in heaven
[11:49]he is not physically anywhere because he's not physical he's the creator
[11:57]of time and space subhanahu wata'ala but when you're in heaven you
[12:03]feel spiritually not physically spiritually close to god because it's the abode
[12:09]of god's pleasure the abode of peace the abode of proximity to
[12:16]allah spiritual proximity to god so she tells me allah i want
[12:19]a house in heaven what does she want a house then she
[12:24]says she tells him save me from pharaoh and his deeds and
[12:32]save me from those who are unjust from the people who are
[12:37]unjust what's interesting here is that this is the word of a
[12:41]queen realize asia was the queen she was pharaoh's wife she was
[12:45]the queen of egypt right a queen is used to what mansions
[12:51]castles she doesn't say allah build me a castle or a mansion
[12:57]or a palace he says bite a house is enough one house
[13:03]in your havinya allah is better than all of the palaces and
[13:07]mansions and castles of pharaoh put together let's go back to the
[13:17]hadith so now we've understood that the person who recites this invocation
[13:22]this dekker which you shall hear will receive those two gifts number
[13:31]one angels will give him glad tidings at the time of death
[13:35]and number two allah will give him for every word he utters
[13:43]from that invocation a house in heaven so what is the invocation
[13:48]let us read it just give me one minute inshallah i will
[13:52]listen to your comment or question just after we read the invocation
[13:57]imam says m this is what we find where in bihar anwar
[14:20]as he cites korbel is not but but if we go to
[14:27]the book quran is not we find a bit of difference a
[14:34]small difference in the narration we find a few extra words in
[14:39]the narration that are important based on this narration we understand that
[14:44]saying it once is enough if you say this invocation once you
[14:49]will receive the two gifts that the imam mentions but in karbal
[14:58]is not mentions saying it 70 times let me share the tradition
[15:02]with you as i told you the the difference is not big
[15:08]there's a small difference but in general the narration is the same
[15:15]it says i'll read it in arabic here we realize that there's
[15:56]also a wow after the word hasibin which we did not find
[16:01]in the in the tradition in bihar anwar there's another wall mentioned
[16:08]also in quran islam that we don't find in bihar anwar but
[16:11]other than those two wows and other than the fact that the
[16:18]imam here says recited 70 times the narration is the same so
[16:22]out of precaution if you want to guarantee that you get those
[16:27]two gifts um recite that invocation 70 times based on the hadith
[16:37]we understand that reciting it 70 times during your lifetime during your
[16:43]life is enough so it's not reciting it 70 times per day
[16:47]or 70 times per month or per year even if you recite
[16:53]it 70 times only 70 times throughout your life then you will
[16:58]receive the rewards that the imam are mentioning one might say could
[17:08]it be allah will give us such reward such immense rewards for
[17:12]such a simple deed yes you're talking about allah the most merciful
[17:20]out of those who are merciful and the most generous out of
[17:25]those who are generous now what does this invocation mean what do
[17:34]those names those beautiful names of god mean we'll mention what they
[17:37]mean after we listen to binary you have a comment or a
[17:40]question yes i do i'm not sure if that's my hand i
[17:48]don't think that's my hand so yeah sister sofia also has a
[17:52]question let's go ahead yes um you know i guess i i'd
[18:17]like to know it could be any meaning correct well we said
[18:22]bait means house right yeah yes now how does that house look
[18:30]like what is it built from that's a different story but it's
[18:33]a house doesn't mean family either the word byte does uh can
[18:41]be uh used in the meaning of household yeah yes sometimes you
[18:47]say bait and you don't mean house you mean household sahih but
[18:53]in this hadith it seems that the imam is talking about a
[18:57]physical house now uh there are quranic verses and narrations indicating that
[19:05]you don't live alone in heaven heaven is not only about having
[19:09]good food and lands and rivers etc you're going to have all
[19:16]of that but there's also a social life in heaven you will
[19:19]be with the people you love it's enough to know that you'll
[19:24]be in heaven and you'll also be in heaven with the righteous
[19:32]believers you'll be in heaven with your family members who were also
[19:38]believers in god subhanahu wata'ala and salam that in itself comforts the
[19:45]human being that's one of the the most beautiful rewards in heaven
[19:51]to dwell with the people you love in the abode of peace
[19:53]not for a month or two months rather forever or eternity sister
[20:06]sofia uh yes i have a question that the heart that you
[20:11]wrote there's a four next to it yes do i say it
[20:16]four times like yes yes uh no that four um was basically
[20:29]used uh to refer to a footnote so the website from which
[20:35]i brought it yeah they put a four beside it and then
[20:38]uh in a footnote they wrote four and they mentioned that specific
[20:45]note oh okay yeah you recommend it's better to you know no
[21:11]problem okay so this helps us from sakuratan mode it helps us
[21:16]during sakhara tillman and when the angels tell you you have nothing
[21:21]to fear you're okay you're gonna dwell in heaven then that will
[21:26]that will comfort the believer right and it will remove him from
[21:30]a lot of stress a lot of stress a lot of fear
[21:36]he might be afraid of what what to expect what's going to
[21:40]happen next right but when they tell him don't worry your test
[21:44]is over and you pass the test he'll relax so is it
[21:49]just a sakurati remote well also been covered in the hayatum uh
[21:57]the narration mentioned that you'll benefit in sakaratil mode and in jannah
[22:01]could there be other benefits maybe but the narration did not mention
[22:06]it so we can't say um that you know it has other
[22:14]effects in itself it's a good deed and we know every every
[22:17]good deed helps the human being in the hereafter right but i
[22:23]cannot mention an effect a detailed or specific effect that the imam
[22:29]did not mention uh for the imam knows best thank you very
[22:37]much you're welcome fine so what is the meaning of these beautiful
[22:48]names of gods upon let's start with ya we said all these
[22:55]are names of allah you're calling upon allah using these names is
[23:01]a name that pertains to allah's hearing allah hears but his hearing
[23:11]is different than ours we hear sounds and voices with our ears
[23:19]allah's hearing is different allah hears without the need of a particular
[23:30]object or a particular part for allah is not composed of parts
[23:34]he he's completely absolutely simple by simple i mean he's indivisible you
[23:41]can't divide him whatsoever this is confirmed through logic and we're also
[23:47]a hadith is indivisible you cannot divide him in the outer world
[24:05]nor through your intellect nor through your imagination so he's indivisible what
[24:13]is the meaning of his hearing in that case what is the
[24:18]meaning of his sama we know that one of his names other
[24:26]than asm is a samia the all-hearing so what is his hearing
[24:30]the scholars of beliefs whom we call milk say that his hearing
[24:40]is his knowledge but his knowledge regarding what his knowledge regarding what
[24:45]can be heard regarding sounds for example and voices allah subhanahu wa
[24:52]knows all issues right he knows all affairs he knows about everything
[24:58]what you can imagine and what you cannot imagine so part of
[25:08]what exists are sounds and voices allah knows these sounds he knows
[25:20]these voices before they even exist he knows them when they exist
[25:24]before they exist and after they exist for his knowledge is what
[25:28]timeless he himself is timeless and his knowledge is infinite so the
[25:36]knowledge of god that pertains to what can be heard what we
[25:47]call masmohat that is his hearing in simpler terms when allah says
[25:53]asami when we say allah hears we mean he knows what is
[26:00]sad and he knows all sounds that are produced by any creation
[26:07]not only humans rather by any creations now the the word said
[26:19]what the the vicar said he doesn't only hear he is the
[26:27]best he has the best hearing out of those who hear his
[26:34]hearing is supreme because he hears everything think of the human being
[26:43]and the limits of his hearing we have limits regarding what we
[26:51]can hear sounds or voices that exist outside these limits cannot be
[27:00]heard by the human being i've given this example before and i'll
[27:04]give it again when you use a whistle used for dogs you
[27:12]don't hear a sound stemming from the whistle you don't hear it
[27:17]but the dog does because the hearing of the dog is what
[27:22]uh stronger than the hearing of the human being confirmed this issue
[27:31]that there are creations that can hear things the humans and the
[27:37]jinns do not hear and we'll get to that inshallah later on
[27:42]when we get to um and the questioning so the human being
[27:55]is limited even in his hearing he doesn't hear everything all the
[28:02]sounds or voices that lie outside the limits of his hearing cannot
[28:06]be heard by the human being whereas allah is asthma he hears
[28:16]all sounds all voices even if the sound is extremely faint take
[28:25]the example of the sound produced by the step of an ant
[28:32]when an ant is walking and it's taking you know small steps
[28:39]logically speaking there should be a sound to that step right there
[28:43]should be a sound because it's walking and it is putting you
[28:49]know parts of its body on particular objects objects or particular things
[28:54]but you don't hear the sound it's very faint extremely faint allah
[29:00]hears it if there is a sound and logically speaking there should
[29:06]be a sound allah hears it that other human beings might not
[29:18]hear he hears for example the invocation or the supplication of a
[29:22]fish that lies in the bottom of the ocean he hears you
[29:30]know what for example ants say or utter sounds what i mean
[29:41]to be more precise in my terms he hears the sounds that
[29:45]stem from ants from small creations big creations from everyone he hears
[29:52]everything subhanallah with that when we look at the human being himself
[29:56]the human being himself the human being sometimes talks between him and
[30:04]himself right sometimes you talk to who to yourself you don't move
[30:10]your mouth but you say something that you can hear with your
[30:15]soul but not with your ear allah hears that inner conversation that's
[30:24]happening within you so this is the meaning of asma asami the
[30:37]one who's hearing is the best hearing out of those or amongst
[30:43]those who hear up is similar to asthma assaying but it speaks
[30:52]about allah's sight allah's sight just as allah hears allah also sees
[30:59]he mentioned this explicitly in the quran that he is all hearing
[31:05]and he's also all seeing what is the meaning of allah's sight
[31:14]i see with my eye but we said allah is indivisible he
[31:20]doesn't have parts he doesn't need an ear or an object to
[31:29]hear similarly he does not need an eye or an object or
[31:33]a device to see so what is the meaning of his sight
[31:38]the scholars of beliefs say the sight of allah is what is
[31:45]um his knowledge regarding what can be seen his knowledge regarding what
[31:58]can be seen he knows everything that can be seen before it
[32:09]exists when it exists and after it exists whether that thing can
[32:14]actually be seen by a human being or not just as our
[32:22]hearing has limits our sight also has limits we don't see everything
[32:25]that exists in this world there are creations or beings that lie
[32:33]around us yet we don't see them because our sight our vision
[32:41]is limited anything that lies outside the limits of our vision cannot
[32:47]be seen by our physical eyes for example we don't see infra
[32:55]red rays we don't see ultraviolet rays we don't see wi-fi waves
[33:02]but they exist they exist there is something called wi-fi waves there
[33:08]is something called infrared rays ultraviolet rays you don't see them but
[33:17]they exist on a spiritual level you don't see angels fallible human
[33:28]beings usually don't see angels can allah make them see angels yes
[33:32]he can hence at the time of that we will see the
[33:35]angels the curtain will be lifted and will be able to see
[33:40]the angels we will see the angel of death but at the
[33:46]moment we don't see those angels it doesn't mean they're not there
[33:57]allah is what absurd the one who has the best sight out
[34:06]of those who can see out of those who gaze he can
[34:18]see everything as small or big as it may be look at
[34:25]your hand can you see microbes for example on your hand you
[34:31]can't you can't see microbes you can't see bacteria you can't see
[34:39]for example neutrons electrons protons they're too small you can't see the
[34:44]atom it's too small to be seen hence in arabic it was
[34:50]called the arabs used the word to refer to an atom because
[34:53]the word dara is used to refer to something really small but
[34:58]the atoms are there they exist allah sees the neutrons the electrons
[35:07]the protons the extremely extremely small creations just as he sees the
[35:18]large and enormous creations like the sun the moon jupiter galaxies etc
[35:42]the quickest out of those who question this is one meaning of
[35:53]asral hassari another meaning is the quickest out of those who count
[35:58]let's start with the first one so what i'm trying to say
[36:03]is there are two different meanings we can derive from this word
[36:08]and both are correct as we shall hear both are correct could
[36:15]mean o quickest of those who reckon those who question allah will
[36:28]question the human beings on the day of judgment correct there's a
[36:31]stage called the stage of questioning now we're told in narrations uh
[36:40]the narrations questions everyone at the same time at the same time
[36:48]they're all questioned by allah so he can finish the questioning quickly
[36:58]that is a manifestation of his power subhana it's a manifestation of
[37:06]his power can you talk to two people at once and stay
[37:09]focused you can't you can't as in can you have two separate
[37:13]conversations with two different people at the same time you can't hands
[37:19]if two people two of your kids for example talk to you
[37:23]at the same time you tell them what stop pause let me
[37:27]hear the first one and then i'll hear the second one i
[37:30]want to understand what you're saying right allah isn't like us he's
[37:37]not limited hence he can hear all of us at the same
[37:39]time and he can judge us all at the same time the
[37:50]second meaning of oh he who is the quickest at counting count
[38:07]as we said knows all matters knows everything he knows all of
[38:15]the new miracle issues related to his creations see this universe if
[38:26]you think about it is greatly connected to what two numbers greatly
[38:33]connected to numbers everything in you and everything around you is connected
[38:40]or related in one way or another to a number to a
[38:46]number so there are numerical issues regarding everything regarding all the creations
[38:55]that exist allah subhanahu wa tahana is the quickest at counting this
[39:04]doesn't mean that allah who literally counts his creations for example he
[39:12]counts how many raindrops descend from the sky to the earth when
[39:19]it rains he counts how many creations has he created from the
[39:27]day he created until now that's not what we're saying allah doesn't
[39:32]do that he doesn't physically count his creations the way we count
[39:37]for example money cash coins or for example lands and or other
[39:47]creations but when we say he is he is the quickest at
[39:56]counting we mean that allah is what fully aware of his creations
[40:05]and fully aware of all the numerical issues pertaining to his creations
[40:15]so he knows for example how many creations he is going to
[40:24]create before even creating them he knows how many raindrops will come
[40:28]down from the sky to the earth from the day he creates
[40:32]the sky and the earth until the day of judgment he knows
[40:38]how many human beings will enter heaven on the day of judgement
[40:41]when did he know that not today not yesterday he always knew
[40:49]it subhana he always knew it he knows how many people will
[40:54]enter hell fire on the day of judgment when did he know
[40:59]it he always knew it subhana wa he knows azzawajan how many
[41:06]heartbeats how many how many heartbeats take place in this world from
[41:18]the time adam salaam allah came to earth until the day of
[41:27]judgment when did he know it he always knew it subhana he
[41:30]knows how many breaths i take or i will take until the
[41:35]day i die he always knew it so allah azzawajal knows all
[41:39]of the issues and all of the numerical issues regarding his creations
[41:47]when we say we're referring to that knowledge if means what means
[41:57]the one who is the quickest at counting means the most merciful
[42:14]out of those who are merciful the most merciful subhanallah he is
[42:26]so merciful that he will accept individuals that are not accepted by
[42:35]their societies and he will have mercy upon individuals people will not
[42:43]have mercy over see sometimes you cross your limits with people to
[42:50]the point where they start to detest you they start to hate
[42:58]you and they feel no mercy towards you even at that point
[43:03]when you're rejected by your own society when people despise you when
[43:07]people don't have don't feel a drop of mercy for you there
[43:13]is someone who is willing to accept you and to bestow mercy
[43:20]upon you if you repent and that is allah subhana wa hence
[43:25]the dua said the one the one who has not shown mercy
[43:48]by people who has not shown mercy by the servants of god
[43:56]and oh he who accepts the one who is rejected by the
[44:03]people of the cities gave us a clear a crystal clear example
[44:19]of his ultimate mercy through the mercy that imam ali showed salah
[44:29]when he of ramadan when s was struck as you all know
[44:38]and all have heard amir al-mu'mineen told imam al-hasan to take care
[44:47]of abdul-rahman to ibn him from the food he eats and to
[44:54]give him from the drinks he drinks although he was his own
[45:02]killer he was the one who struck him with his sword and
[45:05]caused his martyrdom this doesn't mean amir al-mu'min forgave abdul rahman i'm
[45:15]not saying that and it doesn't mean abdul rahman bin muljam will
[45:18]be blessed in the hereafter on the contrary he will be in
[45:23]the lowest levels of hellfire he is known as the i forgot
[45:43]to turn off the other this is the addon of toronto by
[45:47]the way we still have a few minutes um before uh salat
[45:54]in windsor and so uh abdul rahman is known as what the
[46:03]most wrecked the most unhappy individual amongst the first and last generations
[46:24]that was a manifestation that was [Music] one of the greatest manifestations
[46:35]of god's mercy allah wants to show you how merciful he can
[46:42]be he shows it to you he gives you an idea on
[46:46]how merciful he can be through who through the embodiment of allah's
[46:52]mercy so could mean the supreme judge amongst the judges or it
[47:19]could mean the supreme ruler amongst the rulers both are correct both
[47:30]meanings are correct allah is the supreme judge see you have a
[47:32]lot of judges in this world right people who judge whilst their
[47:40]judgment is based on the laws of god such as and people
[47:50]who judge based on their own whims their own desires based on
[47:57]man-made laws one thing is for sure allah is the supreme judge
[48:04]when he passes a judgment all judges have to submit to his
[48:11]judgment subhana it's a given whether these judges are godly judges meaning
[48:20]judges appointed by god like amir al-mu'min darwood and imam al-mahdi peace
[48:25]be upon them or not such as judges who judge based on
[48:33]their whims similarly allah is the ruler the ultimate ruler and his
[48:39]authority is supreme such that when allah gives a command all rulers
[48:46]must bow down to that command they must surrender and submit to
[48:53]that command you might rule a particular city or a country or
[49:00]a continent or a planet but at the end of the day
[49:05]when the supreme ruler passes a command you cannot escape that command
[49:13]for example pharaoh was what an emperor right he he was he
[49:20]was a a tough and vicious ruler who ruled egypt pharaoh thought
[49:29]that he himself was god that's how arrogant he was subhanallah he
[49:37]only ruled egypt right and he he thought that you know he's
[49:43]god what would have happened to him if he ruled the whole
[49:47]planet nonetheless even then pharaoh had to die when allah wanted to
[49:55]put an end to his life he put an end to his
[49:58]life using what using the source of life water the source of
[50:06]life was used to put pharaoh through death he drowned him similarly
[50:14]every ruler in this world one day sooner or later will have
[50:22]to die he cannot escape allah's command every soul shall taste that
[50:28]so even if a ruler rules the planet when allah when the
[50:35]supreme ruler subhanahu watana passes a judgment or a command that ruler
[50:42]the limited ruler cannot escape allah's judgment or command if you remember
[50:50]when we were talking about the reality of death and how it
[50:57]is like sleep uh it's a major form of sleep we said
[51:00]that sleep reminds us of what of our weakness the human being
[51:06]as smart as he may be as strong as he may be
[51:10]as powerful as he may be at the end of the day
[51:15]he must sleep he cannot escape sleep if he refrains from sleeping
[51:18]for a day or two or three or say for example a
[51:23]week at the end either he's going to die or he's going
[51:25]to sleep his body will shut down and he's going to sleep
[51:31]so those rulers cannot escape this command of god allah has commanded
[51:39]that the human being must sleep they can't escape it hence he
[51:45]is the supreme ruler out of those or amongst those who rule
[51:53]these are the meanings of these beautiful names of allah subhanahu wata'ana
[52:02]i thought we'll have enough time today to mention two other deeds
[52:07]that help us in sakaratil mouth but it seems that our time
[52:11]is up in sha allah after the month of ramadan we will
[52:15]continue with these classes the quran classes the biography of the prophet
[52:23]salallahu alaihi classes and the stages of the hereafter classes throughout the
[52:26]month of ramadan we will be having a detailed program in the
