[0:59]yeah yeah Abdullah peace be upon the master of martyrs having Abdullah
[1:08]Al Hussein and upon his sons of Adeem Yamakawa tell OMA oh
[1:23]you was the mercy of Allah on the ship of salvation hurry

[1:47]falls and javi [Laughter] we wish we were with you so that
[1:55]we may fight for your sake and gain martyrdom Allah Subhanahu WA
[1:57]Ta'ala Hassan the Holy Quran well Kathy meanin life wanna FINA in
[2:08]see Allah who you born worsening in honor of Imam Sajjad Oklahoman
[2:18]Solara Mohamed Mohamud the human being was given three powers which if
[2:28]used properly can lead him to high levels of perfection on the
[2:33]other hand if misused can lead him to low levels of imperfection
[2:42]these three powers are essential for our current test and they are
[2:47]the power of the intellect which you can also call the Faculty
[2:52]of reasoning anger and desire the scholars of Allah have presented a
[3:00]short statement which summarizes what is in need of us in this
[3:07]world in order to attain success in the hereafter they said what
[3:10]does it need to do what you what you need to do
[3:17]is to place the intellect in control of the anger and desire
[3:21]a statement which seems quite simple but in reality if we think
[3:30]about it it is more complex much more complex than we can
[3:34]imagine the reason behind this is that both powers the anger and
[3:38]desire try to take control of the intellect and this is where
[3:46]a great battle takes place within the human being an inner battle
[3:50]this is the inner battle thatís what Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam thatís
[3:59]what Allah referred to in his famous tradition when speaking about the
[4:04]major jihad and he said that she had enough struggling with your
[4:12]own South is the major struggle or the major form of striving
[4:16]this inner battle is quite difficult thus if the human being is
[4:21]able to place his intellect in control of his anger and desire
[4:30]he will reach high levels extremely high levels of perfection thus Imam
[4:38]Ali Salim Allah he is narrated to have said the hero and
[4:45]Fusako min Dennises shahe wat to Derek or afiad Arijit he is
[4:53]narrated to have said purify yourselves from the impurities of desire what
[4:58]he means to say alehissalaam is that if we fallen into sin
[5:05]due to our desire firstly we need to repent from the past
[5:09]sins secondly we need to control from now on we to control
[5:16]this desire of ours by doing only what is lawful and avoiding
[5:19]the unlawful if that is done what's gonna happen he says you
[5:22]will attain high levels high levels of perfection you'll attain a lofty
[5:30]status in the eyes of allah subhanahu wa tada in a second
[5:33]tradition an imam who saw the peace be upon him stresses on
[5:39]the same point as he says salawatullahi are they man Malik enough
[5:48]Sahu Allah Habib Allah either rahiba were either rahiba worry - Taha
[5:56]Haram allahu jihad Aharon are the Imam says if one controls himself
[6:00]in four states he will be protected from hellfire allah subhana wa
[6:05]ta'ala will not place that individual and hellfire what are those four
[6:12]states he says the state of anger the state of desire the
[6:15]state of fear and the state of interest when you have interest
[6:22]in a certain issue now if you ponder upon this hadith you'll
[6:26]see that it's not quite surprising that allah subhanho wa taala will
[6:31]save such a person from hellfire because if you control yourself as
[6:35]you're angry or as you desire a certain thing or as you
[6:41]have interest or as you fear something it means this means that
[6:44]you will not cross your limits with allah subhanho wa taala whatsoever
[6:47]which means that you'll not you won't sin and if you don't
[6:53]sin allah subhanho wa taala will not have a reason to put
[6:55]you in Hellfire thus the Imam says Salam allahi allah he stresses
[7:00]on this point of controlling yourself during these four states if you
[7:05]do it your body will be protected from Hellfire on the other
[7:11]hand if the desire or the anger takes control of the human
[7:14]being he will reach deadly conclusions he will reach low levels of
[7:24]imperfection why because these two powers anger or desire will take control
[7:29]of the intellect now instead of using his power of reasoning for
[7:34]the sake of Allah spano Dada instead of using it in order
[7:41]to combat his anger desire he'll be using it in service of
[7:45]anger or desire which means he'll be making plots in order to
[7:48]sin plots to fight allah and his prophet alayhi wa salam plots
[7:58]to in still enmity between people etc hence it is very important
[8:03]that the human being pays attention to this issue and tries his
[8:07]best to restrain his anger and desire when looking at anger specifically
[8:13]many traditions warn us from this power for example an imam as-sadiq
[8:21]alehissalaam presents a short statement a short narration that is very deep
[8:31]as he says Allah Babu Neph tahoe coalition anger is the key
[8:39]to all evil look at this beautiful narration very short but very
[8:45]deep evil what is evil well every sin is a form of
[8:48]evil hence you have minor forms of evil and major forms of
[8:54]evil the Imam is telling you that anger will lead you will
[8:58]open the doors to all sins anger might lead you to backbiting
[9:08]holding grudges Envy verbally abusing people instilling enmity between people fighting them
[9:14]killing them and possibly committing suicide you hear sometimes the stories where
[9:22]someone commits suicide and when you go back to see what happened
[9:25]exactly you'll find that the start of the problem was what anger
[9:33]he had an issue with anger he lost his temper and committed
[9:37]a vicious deed or a hideous lead as a result he felt
[9:45]guilty and he decided to commit suicide so he can put an
[9:48]end to his guilt which means anger that to what to suicide
[9:53]an imam al baqarah salaam confirms this point where he says in
[9:58]a second tradition in rasoolallah allah Fajardo Abbadon hat : r he
[10:04]says sometimes a human being will get angry will become angry and
[10:09]will not be satisfied at all until he sees himself in Hellfire
[10:15]which means what if a person has the habit of losing his
[10:18]temper gradually that loss of temper that anger will help him accumulate
[10:23]since once in over the other one day he back bites one
[10:30]day he insults Philon one day he hits another person etc so
[10:33]when the curtain is lifted and he sees himself in in in
[10:40]the hereafter he'll find himself in Hellfire due to what do to
[10:46]his anger if this tells us anything it tells us that we
[10:50]must combat anger we must control it allah subhanahu wata'ala knew from
[10:56]day one that the human being is quite weak thus allah sawas
[11:04]on guided us to two traits which help us control anger the
[11:09]first one is cosmalite where allah azzawajal tells you to restrain the
[11:15]anger all right you've gotten angry now you don't have to exact
[11:23]your anger on anyone you don't have to let it out what
[11:25]you need to do is close the doors on it meaning keep
[11:30]it inside do not let it out verbally or physically allah azzawajal
[11:35]points to the importance of this deed as he describes the pious
[11:43]in surah al-e-imran and says well quell the mean alive when -
[11:48]Ana's says the pious are people who restrained their anger and forgive
[11:54]people why does he mention forgiveness after restraining anger because when you
[12:02]restrain your anger you don't let it out that anger ultimately comes
[12:06]back to you goes back to you and it might turn into
[12:13]a grudge why do grudges happen sometimes because someone oppressed you and
[12:19]so you felt anger but you were not able to exact your
[12:26]revenge as a result what happens a grudge appears or a grudge
[12:31]forms within your soul if you want to get rid of grudges
[12:34]what do you do you forgive you forgive others hands Allah tells
[12:40]you that these people do not only restrain their anger but they
[12:44]also forgive those who mistreat them and on top of that well
[12:50]know who you have will moistening he says Allah loves those who
[12:54]do good pointing to what he's pointing to the fact that if
[12:59]you want to be a Morrison if you want to be someone
[13:01]who does good then you must restrain your anger and forgive people
[13:07]after forgiving them perform good deeds perform some sort of good towards
[13:13]the person who wronged you why because you might get rid of
[13:18]the enmity or the grudge which lies in your heart by forgiving
[13:21]them but how do you get rid of the enmity or the
[13:26]grudge that lies in their heart when you do a good deed
[13:28]towards them when you do them a favor that will attract them
[13:33]to you this is exactly what Imam Sajjad salawatullahi wa salamu alayh
[13:38]taught us an imam mr.
[13:44]Shah Dar es Salaam was the embodiment of this verse where he
[13:51]was mistreated countless times yet the imam salam ala ali would apply
[13:55]the verse with cal demon alive when Athena and a nurse well
[13:57]know who you have bul meridian for example one day a man
[14:06]comes forward and insults the Imam he swears I am when the
[14:10]slaves of Zainul Abidin alehissalaam cedis they charged forward in order to
[14:16]restrain the man or attack him obviously the slaves remember Seshat loved
[14:21]the Imam right imagine if you were his slave Saruman Lyle a
[14:25]he would be a father to you right you'd feel like you
[14:27]are living in the house of your father so they came to
[14:32]him they charged towards him to defend the Imam Ali said I'm
[14:37]only to be told by Zine El Abidine Salaam ooh-la-la stop this
[14:41]man and these people do not know who we are then he
[14:48]turned to the man and he said is there anything I can
[14:51]do for you listen he insulted him he did not reply with
[14:57]an insult he said what can I do for you the man
[15:03]felt embarrassed right because when you treat someone who's mistreating you with
[15:05]goodness they're gonna feel embarrassed they're gonna feel like they're nothing like
[15:10]they're very low so I was embarrassed at that moment Imam Sajjad
[15:14]Adi Salaam gave him a piece of clothing of his and gave
[15:20]him a thousand silver coins the tradition says the following it says
[15:25]the man left Imam Sajjad screaming he was not speaking normally he
[15:31]was screaming saying I testified that you are the grandson of rasul
[15:40]allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam in a second tradition a famous tradition one
[15:51]day Imam Sajjad alehissalaam wanted to perform model so one of his
[15:59]she slaves was pouring water for the Imam as she's pouring water
[16:03]she drops the jug or the pot on the imam and makes
[16:09]him bleed now does she drop it accidentally or purposely that tradition
[16:13]does not say she dropped at that moment she felt some sort
[16:17]of fear and so she said to the Imam she said well
[16:21]Kathleen Elias as if she's telling the Imam RA salaam master do
[16:25]not punish me please restrain your anger although I highly doubted that
[16:30]Imam Sajjad I said I'm got angry at that point nonetheless the
[16:33]Imam said I have restrained my anger she told him what our
[16:37]fina ana Ness he said I have forgiven you she told him
[16:41]Allah who your hip will mean and Allah loves those who do
[16:46]good he told her I have freed you for the sake of
[16:48]allah subhanahu wata'ala here you see that the Imam RA sought Salam
[16:52]is exemplifying what allah subhanho wa taala is saying in the holy
[16:56]book first restrain the anger secondly forgive thirdly do some sort of
[17:04]good deed towards the person who mistreated you one can say that
[17:09]these states that you just mentioned about zainal abidin alehissalaam are not
[17:16]that important as in if I was in Imam Sajjad shoes or
[17:22]you were in his shoes we might do the same correct one
[17:25]might say this but now let me take you to an instance
[17:32]where most of us who would lose it most of us would
[17:38]lose our temper and we would reply in a negative manner towards
[17:43]the person who's addressing us imagine if you were in the shoes
[17:47]of Zine El Abidine are es Salaam and you were standing on
[17:57]the the chairs sorting out the chairs on the data along solanum
[18:03]it's a lot of on the stairs of the great mosque in
[18:15]sham after what after witnessing the massacre of care about out with
[18:20]his own two eyes after spending about twenty days in captivity seeing
[18:26]his aunts and sisters and his own wife fatima tesora daughter Ronald
[18:32]Hassen who was with them at him Salaam beaten by their enemies
[18:36]insulted by their enemies finally the enter sham and you know what
[18:40]was shown they enter shop and they see that people are a
[18:46]joy seing the whole city was beautified with different types of ornaments
[18:51]the women were dancing there was music people were were rejoicing for
[18:57]the killing of Abdullah all of those calamities follow him a massage
[19:01]and now put yourself in his shoes all of a sudden as
[19:06]he's standing with his aunts and sisters and a home of Salaam
[19:08]on the stairs of the Great Mosque an old man comes out
[19:16]holding the Koran telling the Imam what homological may Allah reward you
[19:22]know he tells him all praise belongs to Allah for annihilating you
[19:28]and all praise belongs to him for granting the Caliph victory over
[19:36]you now imagine if we were an imam associates shoes we would
[19:40]have told him simply may Allah curse you may allah subhanho wa
[19:43]taala place you in the lowest levels of hellfire but Imam Sajjad
[19:49]he said I'm exemplifies diverse well Calvin inna life he knows that
[19:55]this man was misguided and so he tells him all old men
[19:59]have you read the Quran he says yes he tells him have
[20:04]you read the verse Cola aloe Kumari here Sharon in Elma what
[20:10]data Carabas say I do not ask any recompense for it save
[20:13]love for my near relatives have you read the verse walamu anima
[20:20]hanim to mention in Faneuil Alejo Massa who was a rasul when
[20:23]Adele Cordoba the verse of homes where a lot tells you to
[20:28]know that whenever you make some sort of benefit some sort of
[20:32]gain one-fifth of that profit of that gain belongs to Allah the
[20:35]messenger and the near relatives meaning the Imams allahumma salatu salam he
[20:39]doesn't have you read these two verses he says yes he tells
[20:46]him old man we are the Kaaba we are the near relatives
[20:50]on lot mentions this was the first chalk the first thunderbolt the
[20:56]man the Imam addresses him again he says have you read the
[21:02]verse in namah original law and you de barranca militia had elevated
[21:04]with a hero come tot hero verily Allah wishes to remove all
[21:14]impurities away from you and elevate and to and to purify you
[21:20]a thorough purification he says yes the Imam tells him we are
[21:26]a little bait who have been purified by Allah Spinola Tana this
[21:30]was the second shock the man was shocked he told him I
[21:37]asked you for the sake of Allah tell me are you really
[21:40]them you are the Kaaba you are a little bait the Imam
[21:45]told him I swear by the right of my grandfatherís Ulala we
[21:52]are them without any doubts this is where the man falls on
[21:55]imam moussa jets feet kissing them and telling him can i repent
[21:57]he tells me if you repent a lot Allah will accept your
[22:02]repentance so he repents and he disassociates himself from the killers of
[22:06]and intubated him Salam when he has Eid hears of this man's
[22:09]news he orders that he be killed here you find that the
[22:15]Imam Ali Salam is doing what his exemplifying manifesting the concept of
[22:19]restraining your anger so if we want to control our anger the
[22:23]first step that we can take is that when we get angry
[22:29]we should think for a moment and try to keep it inside
[22:35]this doesn't mean of course that it is wrong to be angry
[22:38]no it is wrong to be angry over the wrong reasons meaning
[22:44]to be angry over worldly reasons on the other hand sometimes you
[22:49]must be angered you must be angry how so take the example
[22:56]of moosari Salam when Musa Salah milada came back after speaking to
[23:01]Allah and saw that the children of Israel were worshipping an idol
[23:06]were worshipping the calf was moose Ali said I'm pleased was he
[23:10]he wasn't was he angry obviously he was very angry ultimately angry
[23:18]but his anger was right because they were committing shidduch committing political
[23:23]we have certain traditions which tell us that rasool allah muhammad sallallahu
[23:26]alayhi wa ana the transferor allah muhammad sallallaahu and he was in
[23:37]them also at times would get so angry that his face would
[23:41]turn red in Karbala when imam hussain alayhi salat wa salam addressed
[23:46]his enemies and told them why are you fighting me for what
[23:53]reason they told him we are fighting you because we despise her
[23:57]father and we despise what he did to our forefathers in bed
[24:03]and her name the tradition says imam and hussain became ultimately angry
[24:08]why because they were insulting immune many in salam ala ali and
[24:12]so at times anger is needed but the problem is most of
[24:17]us and i speak about myself course most of us sometimes get
[24:19]angry over worldly reasons that's where you to restrain the anger the
[24:23]second deed which will help you control your anger is believe it
[24:30]or not more important than the first deed more important than a
[24:35]first rate which is what hell you can call it tolerance hanim
[24:40]will help you because it will prevent you from getting angry what
[24:47]does hell now lemony raka may Allah bless his soul says in
[24:56]his book JAMA esada he says hellim is to hold a state
[24:59]of inner peace a state of tranquility in which it is difficult
[25:07]to get angry to hold a state of tranquility where a person
[25:12]will not get angry easily and will tolerate hardships as in if
[25:18]he goes through hardships or calamities who will not lose his patience
[25:22]that is hanim so it's a person who can tolerate a person
[25:25]that has a lot of endurance with hellim you're able to do
[25:32]what to refrain from anger so here we find that the Sharia
[25:34]that Islam is giving illusions number one it encouraged you to be
[25:40]Hadean to be a person who tolerates in case you lose your
[25:47]temper even if your Halim or in case you're not had him
[25:49]you can always resort to the second trait which is Kasim Elias
[25:56]Helen was the trait that and in debate alayhim as-salam held collectively
[26:01]all of the Imams Allen Musa al-salaam were Halima to the point
[26:06]where it was quite difficult for their enemies to anger them unless
[26:10]the enemy was committing a hideous deed such as insulting Imam Ali
[26:14]alehissalaam it would be very difficult to get the Imam angry for
[26:22]example one day a man swears our Imam Sajjad salam ala Hardy
[26:26]the Imam does not answer he keeps on walking the man comes
[26:34]to him and he says I'm swearing at you in the Imam
[26:36]tells him and I pardon you you want to swear at me
[26:42]go ahead I will not lower myself and put myself in your
[26:47]level I'm not going to reply to you in the same manner
[26:50]the second tradition one of the Imams relatives comes forward to Imam
[26:57]Sajjad salamu ala and swears ah now it's one thing to be
[27:04]sworn out by an by a stranger but when your own cousin
[27:08]when your own family members swears at you it's much more difficult
[27:12]because you expect cousins to love each other right you expect that
[27:14]your cousin will support you he swears that the Imam and Imam
[27:22]Sajjad are Islam does not respond the cousin leaves at that moment
[27:27]Imam Sajjad addresses the people present he says you heard what this
[27:34]man said and I would like you to come with me so
[27:39]you can hear what I will say to him the people got
[27:42]up thinking that Zainul Abidin alehissalaam is about to start a quarrel
[27:48]is about to swear as says he swore on him so they
[27:54]get up with him Imam Sajjad Sara malate grabs both of his
[27:59]sandals and recites the verse what Kathleen ilaha il-allah fina ana NOS
[28:04]will know who you have Bulmer sydney in the people realized at
[28:09]that point when he recites this verse that Imam Sajjad will not
[28:12]have a quarrel that he's going to forgive that individual but what
[28:16]does he do listen carefully because whatever he remembers says I was
[28:19]going to mention can solve a lot of problems in our society
[28:25]a lot of problems he comes to him when he comes to
[28:28]his house the tradition says the cousin of the Imam RA salam
[28:34]comes out wanting to fight thinking that Zainul Abidin ra sallam has
[28:40]come to continue what he started while his cousin started Imam Sajjad
[28:44]addresses him firstly he tells him iya okay my brother his on
[28:51]his brother he's his cousin but look at the wording the Imam
[28:54]uses wording that touches that person's heart so he can calm him
[29:01]down he says my brother if whatever you said about me is
[29:04]true then may Allah forgive me however if whatever you said about
[29:11]me is not true then may Allah forgive you if you use
[29:16]this Sajadi statement trust me a lot of problems will be resolved
[29:21]when you address the person who is angry at you the person
[29:24]who's insulting you the person who's mistreating you in this way he
[29:28]will feel embarrassed because when one swears or attacks a person verbally
[29:34]he assumes that he will be attacked as well correct his house
[29:40]him if whatever you said about me is true then may Allah
[29:45]forgive me however if whatever you said about me is not true
[29:48]then may Allah Ta'ala forgive you the man kisses Imam Sajjad Arisa
[29:52]line between his eyes and he tells him no whatever I said
[29:59]was not sure whatever I said about you was not true in
[30:04]short anima massage at aloha tama heiwa ceremony held impeccable tolerance impeccable
[30:14]patience however you find that there's only one calamity one tree made
[30:24]Zainul Abidin alehissalaam lose his patience you might tell me how's this
[30:33]is it possible for an amount patience yes he loses his patience
[30:37]when it's right to lose it there's one tragedy where you're not
[30:42]supposed to be patient you're supposed to be impatient as a tragic
[30:47]of ABI Abdillah and her saying alehissalaam yama saw the southern face
[30:52]in his famous tradition that crying and manifesting impatience are a disliked
[31:02]whenever you're afflicted with a tragedy if you cry or manifest impatience
[31:11]those two deeds will be disliked what he means by dislike in
[31:14]this context and I think we've explained this hadith before is that
[31:17]you will not be rewarded for the tears or the impatience he
[31:24]says in lejana Hussain except for the tragedy of ABI Abdillah when
[31:28]you cry over about the law or reveal in patients such as
[31:35]azad re-write and other forms of impatience you are rewarded for what
[31:38]you what you are doing hence Imam Sajjad re sallam lost his
[31:43]patience over about abdullah hussein salawatullahi wa sallam on day 11 of
[31:58]Muharram when he walked by the Blessed decapitated body of Imam Hussein
[32:04]and the bodies of his family members Imam Sajjad Ali salam went
[32:10]through a heartbreaking state the tradition says that his soul he tells
[32:20]a eda later on he says Aida I felt as if my
[32:21]soul was about to leave my body he was on the brink
[32:27]of dying indeed the traditions of Karbala left a scar in the
[32:30]heart of Zion and a beedi and that could not be healed
[32:35]that day was a dreadful day a day filled with pain however
[32:42]one of the most heartbreaking tragedies for Zainul Abidin alehissalaam on that
[32:50]day was to be unable to support his father hussein imagine the
[32:54]Imam RA his salaam is sick unable to move he wanted to
[32:58]support him but he was unable due to his sickness and due
[33:03]to the fact that he is the next Imam hence he must
[33:10]remain alive the tradition says when ABAB Dallara his salaam lost all
[33:14]of his supporters including Abu fadhl al-abbas Imam Hussain stood on the
