[17:45]set the foundation that will teach our kids how to be good

[29:27]the merciful for all good originates from Allah and everything that we

[29:34]do that is good originates from Allah subhana tala and if we

[29:39]perform any evil then it is not from Allah subhana tala tonight

[29:43]I'd like to sort of summarize because I've got I think tonight

[29:47]and tomorrow is my last lecture I'd like to summarize some very

[29:51]important issues which I think is essential for us to sort of

[29:57]rejuvenate our Spirits in Ramadan and of course for the rest of

[30:01]our lives and inshallah forever for there is no doubt that Allah's

[30:05]Mercy has created us and we have a function on this Earth

[30:11]and if we reject it we become our own enemies we cause

[30:16]ourselves harm and in this blessed month Allah revealed the Quran in

[30:24]you know in the night of Allah revealed the Quran in this

[30:34]month the Quran was revealed and all the scriptures actually tat zabur

[30:37]injil were revealed in Ramadan in the month of uh on the

[30:44]nights of it's very important to understand that and of course that

[30:48]one night ofad as you know is better than a thousand months

[30:51]thousand months is about 82 years and that's a long time that's

[30:55]actually a lifespan so that one night is equivalent to a very

[31:03]good lifespan of 82 years and Allah subhana tala wants us to

[31:06]indulge in the Quran because they said the Quran is the light

[31:12]that will turn on in the our Graves and in the Hereafter

[31:15]and if you and I make friends with different chapters of the

[31:19]Quran then each chapter is a creature it's a person it has

[31:25]a manifestation it's very beautiful you might think this is some kind

[31:29]of of metaphorical talk but no it's real every chapter in the

[31:33]Quran from f toas are 114 persons of the same large person

[31:39]called the Quran and if you fall in love with one of

[31:42]them or many of them and you make them part of your

[31:48]life and it guides you and me then it becomes a friend

[31:54]forever when the prophet was explaining you know and the AY that

[31:58]came in I think it's you know this verse when Allah says

[32:13]the beauty of this world is your wealth and your family what

[32:16]is left are your good deeds and the explanation by our Scholars

[32:20]is one of the greatest Deeds is the manifestation of making friends

[32:25]with the Quran and if you can absorb to a certain degree

[32:29]that your capacity has the chapters of the Quran and live by

[32:36]them then they will become your friends Imam writes this in Salah

[32:39]where he says on Judgment day you will see magnificent beings spectacular

[32:43]looking and you will be mesmerized by their beauty and you will

[32:48]wish to possess them because you'll be so impressed by the way

[32:53]they look and that beautiful creature will look at you and said

[32:55]I could have been your friend had you been mine on Earth

[32:59]and I would have stayed with you forever so please I advise

[33:04]us all spend as much time and don't make excuses I'm not

[33:08]an Arab Arabic is not my language okay while I speak many

[33:12]languages Arabic is not my language but I love Arabic I do

[33:18]believe that Allah has chosen this language as the finality of the

[33:21]law and it is imperative that every Muslim on Earth even non-arabs

[33:26]and the majority of the Muslim population is non-arab and some of

[33:30]the best Quran reciters in the world are non-arabs but the excuse

[33:35]is not to say well you know I'm not Arabic Arabic is

[33:39]a difficult language Allah four times repeats in we've made the Quran

[33:49]easy to remember who will pay heed and I mentioned before even

[33:52]5y olds in Islam memorize the Quran where the only religion where

[33:57]the scripture of God is memorized no religion Christians Jews Hindus Buddhists

[34:01]all religions in the world nobody memorizes their scriptures to the degree

[34:06]we have it's a miracle the Quran in and of itself is

[34:11]a miracle and it's from the perspective of the message that it

[34:14]has and the beauty of the Quran the way it presents itself

[34:19]is it has many stages it's got Universal verses which we call

[34:24]verses Universal they address all of Creations all of mankind typically the

[34:30]Quran is addressed to mankind so Allah is addressing mankind then it's

[34:39]addressing a specific group of mankind in the Quran it's addressing a

[34:47]specific group among mankind Quran has general principles and has specific principles

[34:53]the verse I'm reading right now inat is Allah says all mankind

[34:58]this is a universal verse and it's elegant it's very beautiful it

[35:03]establishes the fundamental social principle of Life which when Imam says to

[35:09]Malik that there are two people under your toled they are your

[35:11]Believers in faith or your equals in humanity it comes from this

[35:18]verse indeed we created you two genders we have only two genders

[35:25]we might have a third from the perspective of hermaphrodites who kind

[35:31]of Teeter between the two but there are two main genders and

[35:39]you notice by the way our biggest social problem in life is

[35:46]what the misogynist men who put down women women have suffered tremendously

[35:50]in history they've been marginalized for centuries if not for thousands of

[36:06]sexually abused physically abused financially abused psychologically abused let's State the facts

[36:14]the way it is and I'm not here to please our sisters

[36:16]but this is the truth and in societies if if societies can

[36:21]choose a gender they tend to go towards the male because they

[36:26]find an economic benefit that the son will inherit and therefore the

[36:30]wealth will stay within the family it's cruel there's a lot of

[36:34]Cruelty in that and it has brought such an imbalance in society

[36:38]you know in America up to the early 20th century women couldn't

[36:42]vote they were considered second class citizens and the level of morality

[36:50]among women with all due respect which we must recognize is that

[36:53]the Europeans when they migrated to the United States one of the

[36:57]the cultures of the Europeans is alcohol the Germans the Irish the

[37:02]English you go to their countries every block there's a pub they

[37:11]drink Beyond thought you know they just are inebriated constantly and Quran

[37:18]calls it rids it's filth it's nudis it's bad stay away from

[37:22]it but look they live by it so they brought alcohol to

[37:27]the United States and who who are the biggest opponents to alcohol

[68:01]I forgive him so Imam Ali turns around and looks at the

[68:04]man who slapped and Imam slaps him he was stunned he said

[68:11]what I did is I'm the Hakim asari you did this in

[68:17]public I will teach you a lesson don't ever do this in

[68:19]public for he has forgiven you personally but you've done a social

[68:23]breach of justice and I will not allow this violation therefore as

[68:29]the judge as the Khalifa of the time the Justice demands that

[68:38]you and don't ever do it again now that's Justice Imam Ali's

[68:42]Shield was taken he's the Khalifa of the time he calls the

[80:34]same Surah in Allah mentions clearly that the mother your mother has

[80:38]a greater right on the womb but these women don't have a

[80:43]right in your inheritance if if the wives of the Prophet are

[80:45]our mothers then we need to give them some inheritance when we

[80:47]die notice none of that happens so there's a breach of Justice

[80:54]here but IM is facing that and look how he addresses it

[86:38]of History you will never find this level of Justice being practice

[86:42]may Allah give us the to every one of us to practice
