[1:58]in the year '61 after hijra on the tenth of muharram imam

[2:05]al hussain alaihi salam was killed along with his family and companions

[2:14]on the day of ashura in a battle that did not last

[2:18]more than a few hours imam al hussein was killed his body

[2:25]was trampled his head was taken to kufa and bani ummayah thought

[2:32]that that was it they thought that imam al hussain had been

[2:37]killed in fact bani umayyah had waged two battlefronts against imam al

[2:45]hussain alaihi salam there was the physical battle the battle that was

[2:51]on the ground that killed imam al hussain and crushed the bones

[2:56]of abba abdullah al hussain al hussain hussain hussain hussain hussain there

[3:01]was another battle and that was the propaganda war that was the

[3:07]battle which did not use the swords and the spears but rather

[3:13]it used the poets and the scholars it was the battle which

[3:19]used the fatwas from the scholars to bring down the ahlul bayt

[3:26]and imam al hussein and everything that they stood for imam al

[3:30]hussein was not only killed in one battle they tried to kill

[3:36]imam al hussein through the propaganda through the use of the poets

[3:43]that would come up and speak against imam al hussein alaihi salam

[3:48]they would use the fake scholars which would issue fatwas against imam

[3:54]al hussein how do you think at least 30,000 went out to

[4:00]carmela to kill the grandson of the prophet did they just go

[4:03]for that no there was a fatwa that was issued against imam

[4:09]al hussain by the judge in kufa by the name of sharay

[4:13]al qadhi he took money from and he issued a fatwa making

[4:20]the blood of imam al hussain halal and therefore they went out

[4:25]to fight the grandson of the prophet and they thought some of

[4:29]them thought that what they were doing was going to bring them

[4:33]closer to allah omar ibn saad on the day of ashura after

[5:07]today against the ahlul bayt against imam al hussain the physical battle

[5:15]came to an end but the propaganda war began before ashura and

[5:20]continues to this day bani umayyah they started started the sunnah of

[5:27]cursing ali of the first muslim the first defender of rasulullah the

[7:07]alive until today today my dear brothers and sisters you who are

[7:12]listening to the of imam al al hussain you who are carrying

[7:16]out the of imam al hussain you are not only commemorating a

[7:20]man who was killed fourteen hundred years ago you are reliving and

[7:26]you're carrying the legacy of imam al hussain hussain if it's not

[7:29]for you then the message of imam al hussain would be stopped

[7:35]the they relied on the they relied on the believers like yourselves

[7:41]to attend the of imam al hussain to cry for imam al

[7:45]hussain to shed tears for imam al hussain to visit the grave

[7:50]of imam al hussain this is why you should feel that you

[7:55]have been privileged you should feel honored that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[8:00]gave you the privilege to be of those amongst those who shed

[8:05]tears for imam al hussain alaihi salam from those who on the

[8:09]day of judgement will stand in front of rasulullah and you will

[8:14]tell rasulullah we were of those muslims who cried for your grandson

[8:20]and there were many others that took the day of ashura as

[8:23]a day of aid there were many others that took the day

[8:26]of ashura as a day of celebration but for us it was

[8:30]a day of azza it was a day of calamity it was

[8:33]a day of masaib the al al bayt they relied on the

[8:38]mumineen and this is why the al bayt they would encourage the

[8:42]believers to remember the al bayt we have to do for the

[8:47]al bayt all of them beginning with rasulullah all the way to

[8:51]imam al mahdi we have to remember them imam the imam says

[8:55]our shias they were created from the remainder soil that we were

[9:08]created from and they are comfortable and happy during our occasions of

[9:13]happiness and they are sad during our times of grief imam he

[9:20]tells one of his companions he tells him do you sit amongst

[9:27]one another and you talk about the ahlul bayt alaihi musalam then

[9:31]the companion says yes we do then the imam says i love

[9:39]this majalis we love when you gather and you remember the al

[9:44]bayt alaihi musalam my dear brothers and sisters the al al bayt

[9:49]encouraged us to show our love and this love that you're showing

[9:55]the al al bayt will reciprocate it allah will will they will

[9:58]show you the mercy many times more imagine if there is a

[10:03]friend who's sick and you keep going and visiting that friend you

[10:07]keep going and visiting this person you keep going and checking up

[10:11]on this person then once the person is better what will they

[10:15]do they will come and they will repay you back we believe

[10:19]that these sessions where we are gathered for the al bayt the

[10:23]al bayt will repay us and the al bayt are much more

[10:27]generous much more loyal than anything that we have done furthermore my

[10:33]dear brothers and sisters we have a religious duty to remember the

[10:38]we have a religious duty to remember because when we remember imam

[10:44]al hussain we are upholding our values and principles we are strengthening

[10:51]our imam when we remember imam al hussain this is why millions

[10:58]are guided every year by the love of aba abdullah by the

[11:01]message of imam al hussain by the of imam al hussain people's

[11:07]lives transform as soon as they're connected with imam al hussain this

[11:13]is why the imams of the insisted on their followers to visit

[12:31]say and when you do that your salaam will be counted and

[12:43]you will bring joy to the heart of rasulullah in another hadith

[12:52]the imam tells his companion and when you visit imam al hussein

[13:05]rasulullah will be doing dua for you amir al mumineen will be

[13:09]doing dua for you fatima tazara will be doing dua for you

[13:14]imam al hadi alaihi salam he fell ill he goes and he

[13:18]takes money the imam is in samarrah or in medina he takes

[13:23]money and he gives the money to one of his companions he

[13:27]tells him go to karbala and pray for me next to the

[13:31]grave of imam al hussain the man is shocked he says he's

[14:11]those places is the grave of ababdullah al hussain this is why

[14:16]in our traditions we we understand that the dua beneath the dome

[14:21]of imam al hussain is accepted and this is one of the

[14:25]small gifts that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given imam al hussain

[14:30]so the imams of the al bayt they insisted on their followers

[14:36]to visit and year after year more people would visit the grave

[14:41]of imam al hussain there was more traffic karbala had no one

[14:45]sitting in it it was bani asad slowly people started migrating and

[14:49]living close to the grave of imam al hussain and as more

[14:54]people began to be guided by imam al hussain the enemies of

[14:58]the they would have a grudge against the followers of the they

[15:51]of imam al hussain four times four times one of the times

[15:57]he has he's a caliph he's a king in his palace he

[16:01]hears that one of the maids that works in the palace has

[16:04]gone missing so once she comes back he asks where were you

[16:09]she tells him i was in the hajj he tells her it's

[16:12]not the hajj it's not the season of hajj where were you

[16:16]she tells him i was visiting the grave of abu abdullah al

[16:20]hussain he becomes so angry that he sends an army to go

[16:27]and dig the the euphrates that imam al hussain did not drink

[16:33]a drop of he orders for the the euphrates to come and

[16:38]drown the grave of imam al hussain alaihi salam so they kept

[16:42]digging and digging and digging once they came close to the grave

[16:46]of imam al hussain the euphrates instead of going over the grave

[16:51]of abba abdullah the euphrates started circulating around the grave of imam

[16:56]al hussain this is why today karbala and the area the vicinity

[17:03]right by the grave of imam al hussein is called why because

[17:12]quran quran quran followers to visit imam al hussain in any time

[17:29]to shed tears for imam al hussain to hold majalis for imam

[17:32]al hussain to cry for imam al hussain they would invite the

[18:07]if it's dangerous to go to hajj hajj does not become wajjib

[18:10]anymore if you don't have money hajj is not wajjib anymore but

[18:15]the imams of the al al bayt they encourage their followers to

[18:18]visit imam hussein at all costs even while they were cutting off

[18:22]the hands and the legs the imam the imams encouraged their followers

[18:26]why because it is through the remembrance of imam al hussein the

[18:31]hajj remains it is through the remembrance of imam al hussain the

[18:35]salah and the zakat and the and the religion remains so the

[18:41]imams encourage their followers to perform the of imam al hussain to

[18:46]visit and you see that in every occasion there's a for imam

[18:51]al hussain and rajab and shaban i said thank you and rajab

[18:57]and shaban and ramadan and al hajjah and and safar and muharram

[19:03]there's always a for imam al hussain alaihi salam and each one

[19:09]of those it has a special meaning each one of these ziyarahs

[19:14]the imams of the al bayt just like we spoke yesterday the

[19:18]imams of al bayt they teach us how to speak to god

[19:22]they give us the language of love which teaches us who our

[19:25]lord is and the principles of our faith the imams of the

[19:29]they also teach us how to speak to imam al hussein and

[19:33]how to do ziyara when you visit the imams what should you

[19:37]say because each ziyara it has specific words that will increase your

[19:43]that will increase your understanding and build the foundation of your faith

[19:49]muhammad the first my dear brothers and sisters when we examine the

[20:00]of imam al hussain we see that the of imam al hussain

[20:06]show us exactly who imam al hussain was connected with the enemies

[20:12]of imam al hussein they wanted to show that bull that imam

[20:16]al hussein was a heretic that imam al hussein was going against

[20:20]the quran and rasulullah but the of imam al hussain shows us

[20:27]that imam al hussain was connected with the quran and connected with

[20:31]rasulullah as much as bani ummaya and bani abbas they tried to

[20:38]make imam al hussain look like a rebel the imams of the

[20:41]al bayd they go and they recite the ziyara and they say

[20:58]the ziyara shows us that imam al hussain is not only connected

[21:03]with god not only connected with rasulullah but imam al hussain is

[21:09]the inheritor of all of the prophets if you're a follower of

[21:14]abraham look at hussain as a role model if you're a follower

[21:19]of moses hussain on the day of ashura represented everything moses stood

[21:24]for if you're a follower of jesus hussain represented jesus and the

[21:29]mission and the vision of jesus if you're a follower of rasulullah

[21:34]then hussain was the embodiment of the message of rasulullah hussain on

[21:39]many anam and hussain furthermore my dear brothers and sisters the tells

[21:51]us what was the purpose and the goal of imam al hussain

[21:54]today there are some people they know imam al hussain is the

[21:57]grandson of the prophet but they don't know what was the goal

[22:00]what was the mission of imam al hussain today some people they

[22:04]say hussain went for the sake of power he went to take

[22:08]a position of power but imam al hussain his goal and his

[22:15]mission was for the sake of allah this is why in the

[22:20]we say i bear witness that your mission was for the sake

[22:34]of salah that your mission was for the sake of zakat that

[22:38]your mission was for the sake of enjoining the good and forbidding

[22:41]the evil today many muslims don't know and they confuse what was

[22:46]the goal and the mission of imam hussain some say hussain went

[22:49]for the sake of power for the sake of authority and he

[22:52]got killed doing so no the imams they tell us this was

[22:57]the goal and the mission of imam al hussein and this should

[23:00]be our goal my dear brothers and sisters if i am a

[23:03]true husseini if i'm a true follower of imam al hussein then

[23:09]my goal should be salah and zakat and amr ibn maruf and

[23:12]nayan and munqar i can't just love imam al hussein and be

[23:17]from those who just cry for ten days in muharram and then

[23:21]that's it there's no imam al hussein in their life there's no

[23:25]no values and principles that imam al hussain stood for the ziyara

[23:31]of imam al hussain shows us that imam al hussain had a

[23:36]goal and we have to align ourselves with the goal of imam

[23:40]al hussain alaihi salam shows us that imam al hussain had a

[23:45]goal and we have to align ourselves with the goal of imam

[23:49]al hussain alaihi salam now one of the greatest ziyarahs there's ziyarahs

[23:56]there's ziyarahs which on a daily basis you could do that ziyarah

[24:01]there are ziyarahs ziyarahs many ziyarahs many visitations you could find them

[24:07]in the books of the ziyarah the books of the dua one

[24:11]of the greatest and perhaps the most encouraged ziyarah of imam al

[24:18]hussain is ziyarah to ashura the that is recited on ashura visiting

[24:25]imam al hussein on the day of ashura and by the way

[24:28]this is a that is not only recited on the day of

[24:32]ashura the imams of the al al bayt they encourage their followers

[24:35]to recite this at all times at all times it's just called

[24:40]ziyarah to ashura but you recite it at all times and today

[24:45]from my experience from the scholars that i have heard of and

[24:49]i have heard their advice to the mu'mineen they encourage the mu'mineen

[24:54]to recite ziyara to ashura if you have a problem in your

[24:58]life if you're going through a difficulty they say recite ziyara to

[25:03]ashura for forty days and you will see that by the love

[25:08]and the honor of imam al hussain allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will

[25:12]answer your dua allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will give you what you're

[25:17]asking for imam al baqir he narrates to us this ziyara ziyara

[25:22]to ashura he asks his companion he tells him do you know

[25:27]who visits imam al hussain on ashura he tells him the grave

[25:33]of abba abdullah has thousands of angels circling the grave visiting imam

[25:40]al hussein on ashura and they do dua they say ameen for

[25:46]whoever visits imam al hussein for whoever needs imam al hussein for

[25:50]whoever loves imam al hussein and cries for imam al hussein and

[25:55]and then he tells his companion the of ashura is worth greater

[26:01]than 20,000 hajj and 20,000 umrah no don't underestimate the of imam

[26:09]al hussein hussain imam al hussain for the sake of the hajj

[26:13]he left mecca for the sake of preserving the sanctity of the

[26:17]kaaba because they had threatened to kill him someone would have came

[26:20]and stabbed him and killed him while he's performing tala'af but imam

[26:24]al hussain did not want the kaaba the sacred house to be

[26:30]disrespected by bani umayyah so he allah gave him his own shrine

[26:36]where the dua is answered beneath the dome of imam al hussain

[26:41]alaihi salaam also there are several factors this is passed on to

[26:49]us from imam al bakr as several chains several very important points

[26:54]one is that we have to acknowledge who imam al hussein is

[26:59]who is imam al hussein we're not sitting and crying and remembering

[27:03]someone who was a nobody we're crying for someone who was the

[27:08]very grandson of rasulullah one of the statements to talk about imam

[27:38]al hussein he's referred to as you know you have revolutionaries are

[27:45]called what do revolutionaries stand for they stand for their own rights

[27:50]they revolt against an oppressive government they revolt when their rights are

[27:55]taken away from them but how many people will stand and revolt

[28:00]for the sake of god when the god when god the of

[28:05]god is not being given to him when you do that you

[28:09]become imam al hussein he is he stood when everyone was silent

[28:16]for the sake of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala furthermore the ziyara ziyara

[28:22]to ashura it helps us acknowledge the magnitude and the greatness of

[28:28]the day of ashura and the tragedy of imam al hussain today

[28:31]people undermine what happened imam al hussain some say so what people

[28:37]die all over the world people are killed all the time but

[28:43]imam al hussain his tragedy is greater the imam in the ziyara

[28:50]he says the tragedy is very grave the tragedy is very difficult

[29:09]islam your tragedy breaks our hearts it breaks the hearts of the

[29:14]imam and the hearts of all muslims and then he says it's

[29:25]not only the people that cry for imam al hussain you know

[29:29]who else cries for imam al hussain the angels cried for imam

[29:33]al hussein the angels shed tears for imam al hussein this universe

[29:38]cried for imam al hussein these are not my words my dear

[29:42]brothers and sisters go and look at the sunni narrators of hadith

[29:46]ibn hajar tha'alabi several of the sunni narrators of hadith they say

[29:52]that after the event of ashura the the sky cried for forty

[29:57]nights and days and they saw a redness in the sky all

[30:02]over the world even in jerusalem they say they would lift the

[30:06]rock and they would see blood boiling beneath it and allah talks

[30:11]about this in the quran allah says about the the sky and

[30:21]the earth does not cry for them he passed by karbala and

[30:26]on one of his trips and then he recited this verse and

[30:30]then he says however the sky and the earth will cry for

[30:38]hussain and the martyrs who were killed with imam al hussein this

[30:44]is why zainab three days after ashura she was taken to kufa

[30:50]she stood in front of the people of kufa and she began

[30:53]to rebuke them and in one of her words she says she

[31:01]tells them are you surprised that the earth cried rain that the

[31:05]earth cried blood for hussein she tells them this this was something

[31:10]that had happened and this is something that has been documented that

[31:17]the sky cried for imam al hussein the earth cried for imam

[31:21]al hussain the of imam al hussain was not just one that

[31:24]shocked the humans it shocked everything it shocked everyone and everything and

[31:31]the creation of god another very important point that makes unique from

[31:40]the other is that recognizes who the enemies of the were and

[31:48]this is what makes it a little bit different and for some

[31:51]it's controversial because some people they say we're going to love imam

[31:57]al hussain we're going to cry for imam al hussain but let's

[32:00]not mention the names of the enemies of the al bayt let's

[32:03]not mention the names of those who participated in the murder and

[32:08]encouraged the murder of the grandson of rasulullah but the quran tells

[32:15]us to disassociate ourselves from the enemies of god the quran teaches

[32:21]us to draw a line i can't love god and love the

[32:25]enemies of god at the same time i can't love imam al

[32:29]hussein and love the enemies of imam al hussein at the same

[32:32]time i have to choose which camp i want to be on

[32:35]do i want to be on a night like this do i

[32:38]want to be on the camp of abu abdullah al hussein or

[32:41]do i want to be on the camp of omar bin saad

[32:45]i can't choose both today there are some muslims they say let's

[32:48]choose both let's be at peace let's choose both may allah be

[32:53]satisfied with everyone the quran does not teach us this my dear

[32:57]brothers and sisters in fact a part of our is at we

[33:03]need to disassociate ourselves from the enemies of god and the enemies

[33:08]of rasulullah and the and this is what does we say in

[33:16]the this is a day the day of ashura that bani ummayah

[33:27]took as a day of barakah today you see some people celebrate

[33:31]on the day of ashura they say mubarak on the day of

[33:35]ashura they hold carnivals on the day of ashura this is a

[33:59]day that bani ummayah took as a day of eid and yazid

[34:05]and those who are with yazid they celebrated on this day so

[34:10]what should i do should i say okay you know what let's

[34:13]be satisfied with them let's be okay with them even though they

[34:17]committed the worst crime in history by killing the grandson of rasulullah

[34:21]no the ziyara teaches us to disassociate ourselves and we have to

[34:30]everyday decide whether we are with imam al hussein or we are

[34:35]with the enemies of imam al hussein you can't be with both

[34:38]imam al hussein draws the line the day of ashura draws the

[34:41]line this is why in the ziyara we say i'm at peace

[34:55]with whoever is at peace with the and i'm an enemy of

[34:59]who is an enemy of the today some people they say no

[35:03]no no don't do don't say this and that this is in

[35:05]the these are in the words of the imam and the quran

[35:09]uses at least 30 times the imams they did we're not doing

[35:14]over individuals who are good and what is laan laan is just

[35:19]asking allah to remove his mercy from someone because of their actions

[35:27]because of their crimes they remove the mercy from allah subhanahu wa

[35:31]ta'ala upon themselves so this is what the does because iman my

[35:38]dear brothers and sisters it's all about love and hate someone comes

[35:43]and asks imam sadiq he tells him how could imam be about

[35:47]love and hate he tells him that's all that imam is you

[35:54]love those who are with god you love the good deeds you

[35:58]love the good people those who do good and you disassociate yourself

[36:03]from those who are doing bad this is what the quran teaches

[36:06]us this is what rasulullah teaches us yes we're not saying you

[36:13]go and you become violent with people but in your heart you

[36:16]have to disassociate yourself from the enemies of god and the enemies

[36:20]of the fourth my dear brothers and sisters one thing unique about

[36:28]it is that gives us hope for a day that imam al

[36:34]hussain will be victorious when we cry for imam al hussein when

[36:39]we remember the al al bayt we this sometimes puts us in

[36:43]a state of depression and stress imam al hussein was killed what

[36:46]could we do no there's a lot that we could do when

[36:50]you gather and you remember imam al hussain you're strengthening your ties

[36:54]with the grandson of imam al hussain imam al mahdi al muntalar

[36:59]who will seek vengeance for the martyrdom of imam al hussain imam

[37:06]al mahdi he is the he is the one who will seek

[37:10]vengeance for the martyrdom of imam al hussain alaihi salam because no

[37:15]one has sought vengeance for imam al hussain to this day why

[37:19]is there a a red flag over the dome of imam al

[37:23]hussain alaihi salam the arabs they had a habit that if someone

[37:28]has been killed and no one took vengeance for this person's life

[37:33]then they raise a red flag over this person's house over this

[37:37]person's grave meaning that this person was killed this person was oppressed

[37:42]and no one took vengeance for him by the imam of our

[37:45]time that red flag will be brought down by imam al mahdi

[37:53]this is why in the ziyara we say the only one who

[38:11]will seek true vengeance for imam al hussain and he will establish

[38:15]justice and fulfill the goals of imam al hussein as his grandson

[38:20]imam al mahdi al muntadar this is why in duan nudbah we

[38:25]say imam al mahdi will not only seek vengeance for imam al

[38:38]hussain he will seek vengeance for all of the prophets that were

[38:43]oppressed all of the prophets that were killed many prophets were killed

[38:48]yahya was beheaded zakaria was killed thousands of prophets were killed because

[38:54]they stood with bihaq and imam al hussein is also one of

[38:58]those who were killed because he stood for the truth finally my

[39:04]dear brothers and sisters at the end of the there's a sujood

[39:11]there's a sujood and in that sujood we thank allah subhanahu wa

[39:15]ta'ala we say why would anyone thank god why would anyone say

[39:22]for such a tragedy that imam al hussain and his family went

[39:28]through yes we thank god that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala made us

[39:35]from those who cry for imam al hussain we thank god that

[39:40]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala chose us amongst those who shed tears and

[39:46]remember imam al hussain because it's a privilege that you have my

[39:53]dear brothers and sisters to be able to attend the majalis to

[39:57]be able to visit imam al hussain to be able to shed

[40:01]tears for imam al hussain because when you do that this brings

[40:05]peace and comfort to the heart of fatima to zahra and rasulullah

[40:11]allah chose you out of the billions of creation to be amongst

[40:16]those who cry for imam al hussein and remember imam al hussein

[40:21]this is why we say the fact that you're crying thank allah

[40:36]for it the fact that you're mourning imam al hussein show shukr

[40:41]to allah show thanks to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for that and

[40:46]then we say allah oh allah make me from those who receive

[40:56]the of imam al hussain on the day of judgement now my

[41:02]dear brothers and sisters it's the ninth of muharram let us turn

[41:06]our hearts to karbala on the ninth of muharram the day the

[41:11]night before ashura several events several things happened imam al hussain he

[41:18]was in his camp along with his followers along with his companions

[41:24]as they were in the camp suddenly they heard the trumpet and

[41:28]the sound of war and the army kept getting closer and closer

[41:33]to imam al hussain alaihi salam so imam al hussain he tells

[41:39]abel fadlil abbas he tells him go and see what's going on

[41:43]what's the sound al abbas comes back he tells him arrived with

[41:50]thousands of people to karbala to complete the army of omar ibn

[41:55]saad and he has a letter with him from telling him to

[42:01]begin the war now if omar ibn saad does not begin the

[42:04]war now begins so imam al hussein he tells abel fad he

[42:10]tells him go to them and ask them to give us just

[42:21]this last hours this this last night i want to stay alive

[42:33]this night so that i could recite the quran so that i

[42:37]could continue praying this is why the camp of imam al hussain

[42:42]on a night like this the the camp was buzzing from prayers

[42:50]and from dua imam sajad he says was in the tent and

[42:57]i was extremely sick and my aunt zaynab was taking care of

[43:02]me and imam al hussein was leaning on a rod on the

[43:06]tent he fell asleep for a few moments his eyes struck for

[43:11]a few moments and then imam al hussain he opened his eyes

[43:16]and he began to eulogize himself he began to say imam zain

[43:30]al abideen he says i began to cry because i realized that

[43:35]my father he was eulogizing himself but i kept calm but my

[43:42]aunt zainab she could not control herself she goes to imam al

[43:48]hussain and he she tells him she tells him my i lost

[44:05]my grandfather i lost my father i lost my mother my brother

[44:10]you are the only one who's left for me do you want

[44:13]to leave me and go imam al hussein he tells her have

[44:30]patience and know that everyone will die my grandfather and father and

[44:46]brother and mother who are greater than me they all died oh

[44:51]zaynab this is the path that we have to all take i

[44:55]ask you to be patient in a moment like this he placed

[44:59]his hand on her chest and he did dua for her that

[45:03]brought serenity and peace to the heart of zainab another event that

[45:11]took place on the eve of ashura was that sukainah she narrates

[45:16]she says on the ninth of muharram all of the water had

[45:20]finished in the camp of imam al hussain and the children they

[45:25]were all walking from one tent to another tent calling out looking

[45:32]for one single drop of water but there was no water to

[45:37]give them another event that took place on the eve of ashura

[45:42]was that imam al hussain he gathered his companions in the darkness

[45:49]and he tells them tomorrow whoever remains with me will be killed

[45:55]so i tell you each one of you take one of my

[45:59]family members and go out and escape in the middle of the

[46:04]night all of the companions they tell him you abba abdullah we

[46:10]will be with you until the last moment one of them he

[46:15]stands he says you abba abdullah if i were to be cut

[46:19]up into pieces and burned and this happens to me 70 times

[46:24]i would do it all over again for you you abba abdullah

[46:28]abba al fadlil abbas he tells him you hussein oh my dear

[46:32]brother what is life after you what is value of life after

[46:36]you we will all give up our lives for you oh abba

[46:41]abdullah one of the narrators not one of the martyrs nafir ibn

[46:46]hilal he passed on the story to us he says in the

[46:50]middle of the night i saw imam al hussein he goes far

[46:54]from the camp and he keeps bending over he keeps picking up

[46:58]something from the ground in the darkness i became worried for imam

[47:02]al hussein what is he doing in the middle of the night

[47:05]i come to him i tell him you abab dillah what are

[47:08]you doing in the middle of the night it's not safe it's

[47:12]dangerous says he tells me i'm picking up the thorns from the

[47:17]ground tomorrow after i'm killed my children will be running in this

[47:23]desert and the thorns in the ground will hurt their feet it

[47:29]will injure them on the day of ashura after all of the

[47:35]companions of imam al hussain were killed imam al hussain he came

[47:41]to his camp to say his final farewell they came and they

[47:48]brought him his young child abdullah they brought the child to him

[47:53]they tell him oh abba abdullah this baby is going to die

[47:58]regardless go and see if they give him a drop of water

[48:02]before you go before you say your final farewell so imam al

[48:07]hussein he came down from the horse and he carried his six

[48:12]month old infant he carried the baby and he goes out in

[48:17]the middle of the enemies and he tells them oh man if

[48:29]you see that i have done something wrong then what wrong has

[48:33]this baby committed don't you see that he is dying out of

[48:42]thirst the enemy they became divided some said give him water others

[48:47]said don't give him water omar ibn saad he looks at and

[48:53]he tells him oh i don't want my army divided over a

[49:01]six month old baby he tells him what should i do he

[49:05]tells him don't you see the shining neck of the baby he

[49:10]says i took the arrow and i shot abdullah while he was

[49:15]in the hands of his father abba abdullah imam al hussain suddenly

[49:21]he saw that his son has been beheaded by an arrow imam

[49:27]al hussein he began to cry imam al hussein began to say

[49:38]oh allah you punished the people of tamud because they killed the

[49:42]camel this is my son my son he has been butchered in

[49:46]front of me imam al hussein he took the baby covered him

[49:51]beneath his cloak and then he goes back to the camp the

[49:56]children they come to imam al hussein they tell him oh abba

[50:00]abdullah you gave abdullah water we also want water we're also thirsty

[50:09]imam al hussain he says imam al hussain he says they did

[50:16]not give him a drop of water they took they beheaded him

[50:21]instead of giving him water then imam al hussein he went and

[50:26]he buried his son he buried abdullahir radeer because he knew that

[50:31]his body would not be able would not be able to withstand

[50:36]the hooves of the horses he buried him next to one of

[50:40]the tents then imam al hussein now he has no one to

[50:45]defend him his last soldier who was his son has just given

[50:50]up his life imam al hussein he stood next to his stand

[50:58]to say his final farewell there is no one to defend him

[51:04]there is no one to stand with him he began to say

[51:24]this is the last time we see each other the next time

[51:28]we'll be in paradise i i ask you to be patient allah

[51:36]i am leaving god they come to him they tell him you

[51:45]have submitted to death he tells them how can i not surrender

[51:56]when i have no one to support me when my last soldier

[52:00]my six month old baby was killed as well imam al hussain

[52:05]he tells them who their imam is and then he tells them

[52:09]about imam zain al abideen then he goes and he whispers to

[52:14]imam zain al abideen he tells him oh my dear son you

[52:19]are the imam after me be patient after me and then he

[52:24]tells him tell my shia and my shia ama islam and tell

[52:34]them my father was butchered thirsty in karbala as imam al hussein

[52:52]was leaving his last time he was going the children they began

[52:56]to hold on to the horse of imam al hussein who are

[53:00]you leaving us with zaynabshi came to him she tells him mahlan

[53:05]mahla yabna zara wait o salam zara i have something to tell

[53:11]you he turns around he tells her what is it she tells

[53:16]him come down from your horse i have something to do he

[53:20]comes down she tells him oh hussain i want you to open

[53:24]your chest for me he opens the chest she kisses him on

[53:29]his chest and another time she kisses him on the neck she's

[53:34]then she turns towards medina she says ummah fatima i did what

[53:40]you told me to do and then imam al hussein she tells

[53:46]him he tells her what did you do she says she tells

[53:50]him when our mother was dying she called me and she told

[53:55]me when you see your brother in karbala in his last moment

[54:00]i want you to kiss him for me one on his neck

[54:03]because that's where the sword will be and another on his chest

[54:07]because that's where his chest will be stomped on and then imam

[54:13]al hussein he tells her we ask you oh allah by the

[55:49]love and the position of imam al hussain to grant us our

[55:53]wishes to heal those who are sick to answer our duas to

[55:58]remove this plague to remove this pandemic and to make us be

[56:03]able to go and visit the grave of abba abdullah oh
