[2:16]one of the greatest miracles or amongst the greatest miracles of rasulullah
[2:23]is the holy quran the holy quran is in fact considered the
[2:32]greatest miracle of islam and the greatest miracle of rasulullah because it
[2:41]is not only a book that we read it's a living book
[2:48]that we interact with a book that interacts with us a book
[2:55]that is relevant to our times a book that is universal that
[3:03]is everlasting it's not limited to a specific time to a specific
[3:09]era and the holy quran is an inimitable book meaning that it
[3:16]is a book that could never be imitated no one is able
[3:22]and no one has been able throughout history to produce something similar
[3:28]to the quran this is one of the features of the quran
[3:33]that makes it a miraculous element the feature of ijaz the quran
[3:39]is an inimitable book many attempted to make something similar to the
[3:46]quran but no one has been able to produce anything that comes
[3:51]close to matching with the quran so it is known amongst muslims
[3:59]that the quran is a miracle of rasulullah and the quran is
[4:04]an inimitable book but today we ask some muslims how is the
[4:11]quran a miracle how is the quran an inimitable book we find
[4:17]that there are many muslims that are unable to answer this many
[4:22]muslims are unable to prove or say a few sentences on how
[4:29]the quran is a miracle and the answer the reason for that
[4:35]my dear brothers and sisters is clear the reason is because there
[4:40]is a lack of association with the quran from amongst the muslims
[4:46]many muslims are not connected with the quran many muslims do not
[4:51]recite the quran many muslims have nothing to do with the quran
[4:56]even though the quran is the holy book for muslims today the
[5:03]quran has become a decoration prop for many people in the weddings
[5:08]in the engagement when they do the they come and they bring
[5:12]out a quran as a decoration prop or when someone passes away
[5:19]the quran is being recited when we go to funerals we hear
[5:23]the quran being recited as if the quran is a book for
[5:26]the dead not a book for the living not a book of
[5:30]life we treat the quran as a book that has nothing to
[5:36]do with our lives we find that some of us sometimes in
[5:41]the month of ramadan if we want to put some efforts we
[5:45]go and we pick up the quran and we read a few
[5:47]pages allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes a scene on the day of
[5:52]judgment where rasulullah stands in front of god on the day of
[6:00]judgment and he complains to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala about the ummah
[6:06]about the muslims what does rasulullah say rasulullah says and this is
[6:14]described in the quran the messenger will say you rabb oh lord
[6:28]my my nation my have neglected the quran they have abandoned the
[6:35]quran they don't care for the quran even though the quran is
[6:39]the the living miracle of islam and muslims my dear brothers and
[6:45]sisters since we are in the season of muharram the time where
[6:51]we remember imam al hussein this is the time that we have
[6:55]to renew our allegiance to the quran we renew our allegiance to
[7:02]allah and to the message of rasulullah season of muharram is a
[7:10]spiritual revival for all muslims and one thing that we have to
[7:16]all strengthen our allegiance to and our ties to is the holy
[7:20]book the quran we find there are many muslims that have neglected
[7:26]the al bayt they sideline the al bayt and there are some
[7:31]muslims and some of them amongst the shias they are those who
[7:35]only focus on the al bayt and neglect the quran whereas both
[7:41]are wrong wrong we have a duty towards both we have a
[7:44]duty to cherish and uphold the quran and the teachings of the
[7:48]quran and make the quran a part of our lives and we
[7:52]have to also uphold the al bayt and remember the and show
[7:58]to the this is the hadith of rasulullah we have to have
[8:04]a balance rasulullah and his hadith he says in front of all
[8:09]the muslims and this is narrated by sahih muslim and many other
[8:14]sources he says i am leaving behind the two weighty things you
[8:28]put them on a scale they have to be equal they're both
[8:32]heavy weighty the book of allah and my family he says they
[8:45]shall never separate from one another until they both arrive at the
[8:53]pond of on the day of judgment in paradise this means that
[8:58]the quran is inseparable from the today if we are reviving the
[9:04]if we are crying for imam al hussein where is the quran
[9:08]in our lives or some of those who only recite the quran
[9:12]and they neglect the al bayt they're also breaking the order of
[9:17]rasulullah my dear brothers and sisters we have a duty towards both
[9:24]we have a responsibility and let us not be from those who
[9:28]rasulullah will complain about on the day of judgment so we have
[9:38]to familiarize ourselves with the book of allah we have to read
[9:42]how can i defend the quran if i don't read the quran
[9:46]how can i learn about the quran how can the quran be
[9:49]a part of my life when i have nothing to do with
[9:51]the quran the quran is just a decoration prop let us read
[9:57]the quran let us understand the quran and this is what the
[10:00]quran ordered us to do do they not ponder about the quran
[10:10]do they not realize the quran my dear brothers and sisters is
[10:13]not a book that we put on the bookshelf the quran is
[10:18]the message of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in fact if you compare
[10:22]it with all other scriptures the torah and the the bible the
[10:28]quran is unique how is it unique the quran is the actual
[10:32]word of god bible even christians and jews they'll tell you it's
[10:38]not the actual word of god you have simon you have matthew
[10:42]you have mark you have luke you have these individuals who transmitted
[10:47]the bible to people however the quran is the actual word of
[10:52]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala which was revealed on rasulullah and rasulullah related
[10:59]to the muslims throughout the twenty three year period of his prophethood
[11:04]when he was the messenger delivering the quran to people so how
[11:09]is the quran a miracle this is a very important question that
[11:13]we have to be able to answer but before going into that
[11:18]what is a miracle and why is it necessary to have a
[11:23]miracle this is the first point second how is the quran a
[11:29]miracle and third what is the role of the quran in our
[11:34]lives today and how have muslims treated the quran throughout history and
[11:40]what are the divisions regarding the quran and the perspective on the
[11:44]quran and perspective on understanding the quran and fourth what does the
[11:51]quran do to those who truly understand it those who truly delve
[11:57]into the quran and are attached to the quran the first point
[12:03]my dear brothers and sisters what is the reason for a miracle
[12:07]why do we have miracles miracles according to our scholars every prophet
[12:15]has a miracle every prophet came to their people with a miracle
[12:23]first of all the prophets they don't need miracles all the time
[12:27]we don't need to see a miracle to believe in god someone
[12:31]says okay i don't see a miracle today then therefore i don't
[12:34]need to believe in god right now maybe during the time of
[12:37]jesus and moses and the other prophets the people saw miracles so
[12:41]therefore they believe do we all need to see a miracle with
[12:45]our eyes in order to believe the answer is no the prophets
[12:50]they were sent to speak to people with eloquence they were sent
[12:56]not only to invent new concepts all they did was remind people
[13:02]of that which they already know this is why the hadith in
[13:06]description of the prophets the hadith says allah sent the prophets not
[13:16]to invent new concepts the the believing and worshiping this is something
[13:23]that we have been programmed with this is something that is innate
[13:27]in our innate subconscious in our fitra we don't need to be
[13:31]convinced to believe but yes over time sometimes we don't see with
[13:38]clarity so the prophets all they do is they come and they
[13:42]bring out what's already within us they don't create new concepts the
[13:57]quran quran quran quran prophets allah says in the quran the those
[14:12]who have those who have knowledge they understand they comprehend that your
[14:18]message that you are delivering to the people rasulullah the message of
[14:22]the prophet is the is the truth they don't ask for miracles
[14:26]in fact those who have the those who comprehend those who realize
[14:32]those who use their intellect we see miracles everyday every day in
[14:38]our lives we see a miracle but some people they say i
[14:41]want to see a miracle when you wake up that's a miracle
[14:44]when you sleep that's a miracle when you look at the sun
[14:46]when you look at the stars when you look at your own
[14:49]self in the mirror that's a miracle allah says in the quran
[14:53]we shall sow we shall show you our signs in the horizons
[15:07]and in yourselves until you realize that it's the truth today if
[15:12]you want to convince someone in god look at the sky look
[15:15]at the order in the universe look at the creation the perfect
[15:19]creation that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has created from the biggest cosmos
[15:24]system to the smallest dna and cell in your body there's order
[15:29]there's precision what does that lead to that leads you to understand
[15:33]that someone has created this so those who understand they realize that
[15:38]this is the truth the words of the prophets but throughout history
[15:43]all of the prophets opposition they faced those who reject logic and
[15:49]reject the truth those who reject facts don't we have people today
[15:54]that reject facts you come and you bring them the truth and
[15:57]they say this is fake news this is alternative facts this is
[16:00]this and that they reject the truth there are people right now
[16:04]scientists experts they tell them something based on an experiment based on
[16:09]truth based on a reality and they reject it the prophets they
[16:13]had to deal with same people so what do the prophets do
[16:17]here comes the role of the miracle the miracle is something that
[16:22]someone else cannot reproduce something that someone else cannot do this is
[16:27]why it's called meaning that other people are unable to produce this
[16:34]thing so the prophets they had miracles so that people believe in
[16:40]them and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will allow them to carry out
[16:45]a miracle so that people accept that what they're doing is from
[16:49]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and no one else is able to reproduce
[16:53]what they're doing imam he says that each prophet that allah sent
[17:00]allah sent the prophet to carry out a miracle that resembles and
[17:06]is relevant to what is popular during the time so for example
[17:12]during the time of prophet moses what was popular and what was
[17:18]relevant and something that many people would talk about during the time
[17:23]was magic this is why when musa goes to pharaoh he talks
[17:29]to firaun he tells him believe in god and free the israelites
[17:34]he tells him i need to see a sign that you're a
[17:37]prophet so musa moses he has a staff in his hand he
[17:44]has his cane a piece of stick in his hand he throws
[17:48]it on the ground and it becomes a huge python it becomes
[17:52]a huge snake so pharaoh during his time something that was very
[17:58]popular was magic so he called all of the sahara he called
[18:02]all of the magicians he tells them i'm going to give you
[18:06]top dollar i'm going to give you money and i want you
[18:09]to also produce snakes they tell him if you do will you
[18:13]be happy with us will you give us positions of power he
[18:16]tells them yes so they go and they drop their sticks and
[18:21]their and their strings they throw them the ropes it looks like
[18:28]snakes but it's not it's magic magic is fake magic is not
[18:32]real then musa he throws the staff and it becomes a huge
[18:40]python that goes and eats all of the rope the ropes that
[18:45]they were using then the magicians that firaun brought immediately once they
[18:52]saw the truth they did sujood to allah subhanahu wa they prostrated
[18:58]to god because they realized that what moses did this was not
[19:02]something that a normal human being can do this was a miracle
[19:07]and then pharaoh he tells them you believe and you follow this
[19:11]man i'm going to crucify you they tell him do whatever you
[19:15]want do whatever you want because we have believed we have believed
[19:21]in what musa has brought forth for us and those were called
[19:27]the they were those who rejected they rejected and they believed in
[19:34]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala jesus what was the miracle of jesus the
[19:40]miracle of jesus was through medicine because what was popular during the
[19:44]time was the subject of medicine so allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes
[19:50]in the quran that jesus used to heal the leper and he
[19:55]used to raise the dead and cure the blind something that no
[19:59]one was able to do at the time and during the time
[20:03]of rasulullah what was very popular was the poetry of the arabs
[20:10]they were very proud of their eloquence and their poetry so rasulullah
[20:15]he produced something that no one was able to produce something similar
[20:21]to it so now how is the quran a work a miracle
[20:27]how is the quran a book of jaz there are many features
[20:34]which make the quran a miraculous book the first my dear brothers
[20:40]and sisters is that rasulullah he was 40 years old when he
[20:46]began and the message was revealed upon and never before that did
[20:52]rasulullah recite poetry in fact we don't have any speech recorded of
[20:57]rasulullah before the age 40 we don't have anything written by rasulullah
[21:03]he didn't used to read or write and he never used to
[21:07]do any public speaking in front of people and he never went
[21:10]to school to be educated so suddenly at the age of 40
[21:18]he begins to recite the quran which captivated the hearts of everyone
[21:25]in arabia because they truly admired the arabic language and poetry prose
[21:31]and poetry suddenly they see rasulullah he brings something which is not
[21:37]poetry it's not prose but it's something that is very great and
[21:43]something that no one is able to produce anything like it and
[21:48]the fact that never used to read or write before that that
[21:52]was something that captivated their attention and allah says in the quran
[21:56]you never used to read and you never used to write with
[22:08]your right hand if you did then people would have said okay
[22:13]he went and he copied it from someone else but you never
[22:16]used to do that you never used to read or write in
[22:20]front of people in fact the quran is signs it's verses that
[22:34]come in the heart of those who have been given the knowledge
[22:40]the arabs they were looking for someone who is strong in their
[22:44]oratory skills in their eloquence to come and produce something similar to
[22:49]the quran so they found one of the kufar one of the
[22:53]rich men of the kufar by the name of al walid ibn
[22:56]almogira this man was known for his eloquence his oratory skills they
[23:02]tell him go and listen to muhammad and see what he's reciting
[23:07]and try to produce something similar to it try to produce something
[23:11]similar to it so he says okay he goes and he listens
[23:16]to rasulullah reciting the quran and suddenly he realizes that this is
[23:23]something very strange even as strong as he is in the arabic
[23:28]language in his oratory skills in his eloquence he's not able to
[23:33]produce anything similar to the quran he goes back to his people
[23:38]and he tells them he says what he says it's halawah it's
[23:49]sweet and above it is you know when you have something sweet
[23:54]and you go and you pour some more sweets on top of
[23:56]it he says basically he says what he is producing right now
[24:15]is something that no one can produce it's beautiful it captivates the
[24:20]attention it's sweet but then it also sends a message and the
[24:25]message is relevant the message is something that is universal the message
[24:30]is accepted so the kufar they tell him oh walid we're not
[24:36]going to accept for you to come and say that because that
[24:39]means that you're joining the religion of islam and if you join
[24:42]the religion of islam then this man muhammad is going to change
[24:46]your life he's going to make you leave the idols and he's
[24:49]you're going to have to change your whole lifestyle so he tells
[24:53]them let me go and i'll come back and i'll tell you
[24:55]exactly what i what i think of what muhammad is producing he
[25:01]comes back after a while after he thinks after he contemplates he
[25:05]comes back and he says this is magic what rasulullah is producing
[25:11]is magic and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes in surat al madathar
[25:17]what this man did allah says in the quran i gave him
[25:27]wealth he was extremely wealthy extremely rich and he had children that
[25:34]he could see them he had a big family and i gave
[25:40]him everything he was comfortable he was happy he was rich but
[25:45]he did not believe in god he wants me to give him
[25:50]more he rejected the signs of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he is
[26:03]going to be punished in the hellfire he went and he realized
[26:10]he knew that this is the truth he went and he thought
[26:34]and then he came back and he said this is the work
[26:37]of man this is magic of course the quran is not magic
[26:42]but they accused the prophet of being a magician they accused the
[26:47]prophet of being a poet but what the prophet produced was something
[26:51]that no magician was able to produce because what the prophet produced
[26:55]was connected with allah and what the prophet produced was something that
[26:59]no poet at the time was able to produce and no one
[27:02]until now is able to produce anything like the quran this is
[27:07]why the quran several occasions challenge the moshrakeen in one verse allah
[27:13]subhanahu wa ta'ala tells them go and bring 10 chapters like the
[27:16]quran if you think that this is a fabricated made up book
[27:21]go and bring 10 chapters they were not able to do that
[27:25]and then later on the challenge comes if you don't believe that
[27:29]this is the quran if you don't believe that this is a
[27:33]miracle go and produce one chapter one chapter the shortest chapter is
[27:38]surah al qautar three verses go and produce something like that and
[27:43]then allah subhanahu wa ta'ala finally says if the and the and
[27:55]the humans they gather together to try to produce something similar to
[27:59]the quran they will not be able to because the quran is
[28:03]an inimitable book the quran is a book of miracles another very
[28:10]important we mentioned the eloquence another very important quality which makes it
[28:16]which makes the quran a miraculous book is that the quran the
[28:20]message of the quran is a universal message you and i we
[28:25]change over time our moods and our attitudes things that are accepted
[28:30]twenty years ago are not accepted now things that used to not
[28:34]be accepted now they're being accepted people change over time but the
[28:39]principles and values remain the same the quran speaks of values the
[28:45]quran speaks of truths that do not change fourteen hundred years since
[28:50]the revelation of the quran and they have not changed the quran
[28:54]speaks against oppression no matter who the oppressor is the quran speaks
[28:59]against racism today in the united states we have a major problem
[29:03]of racism a very advanced country a country that has the greatest
[29:10]economy all of the weapons but there's racism there's a problem the
[29:15]quran solved that fourteen hundred years ago the quran gives rights to
[29:31]every member of society men women animals children husbands wives the quran
[29:38]gives rights these are universal truths that don't change with time the
[29:43]quran spoke of them fourteen hundred years ago furthermore the quran speaks
[29:48]of technical miracles scientific miracles fourteen hundred years ago many people did
[29:56]not even understand a lot of what the people scientists are discovering
[30:01]now in the last century regarding the quran for example the quran
[30:07]talks about the force of gravity were people talking about gravity fourteen
[30:12]hundred years ago no one was but the quran talked about it
[30:16]the quran talks about technical scientific miracles that today scientists are discovering
[30:24]that the quran spoke about this fourteen hundred years ago allah subhanahu
[30:28]wa ta'ala says about gravity allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allah placed something
[30:45]that's holding the earth down or holding you down so that you
[30:50]don't and so that you don't lose yourself imagine if there was
[30:56]no gravity imagine if there was no gravity we would not be
[31:00]able to live our lives as we live it right now allah
[31:03]subhanahu wa ta'ala says we have placed things in the ground that
[31:06]hold you down this is what the quran refers to when the
[31:10]quran is talking about gravity another the quran talks about the ozone
[31:16]layer when you look at the sky do you see a roof
[31:20]do you see a ceiling in the sky no you look you
[31:23]see the sun you see the moon you see the stars you
[31:26]don't see a roof you don't see a ceiling but in fact
[31:30]there is something that's protecting us and that's the ozone layer that's
[31:35]protecting the air within the atmosphere if there was no ceiling on
[31:41]earth then we would die we would not be able to breathe
[31:46]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the quran and we made the
[31:56]sama we made the sky a ceiling to protect you today scientists
[32:04]are talking about the importance of the ozone layer and how it
[32:08]needs to be protected and how it needs to be preserved because
[32:11]without it we will suffer without it there will be global warming
[32:15]without it we will die the quran says we we gave you
[32:19]a cover a ceiling when you look at the sky you don't
[32:22]see it but scientists have discovered that another these are these are
[32:29]there are many of these you could look them up you can
[32:31]read i just brought a few another is the movement of the
[32:35]tectonic plates now when you look at a mountain you don't see
[32:40]a mountain moving but beneath us there are tectonic plates that are
[32:45]moving and shifting you look at the map of the earth a
[32:50]couple million years ago you see that the the continents have shifted
[32:55]the mountains have shifted allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the quran
[33:01]you look at the mountain you see that it's frozen but in
[33:10]fact it's moving just like the clouds you don't see the clouds
[33:13]you don't realize that the clouds are moving similarly you don't realize
[33:18]that the mountains are moving but science has discovered that yes the
[33:23]tectonic plates are shifting and the earth is moving around and it's
[33:28]changing another is gender who chooses the gender when a lady is
[33:37]pregnant when a mother is pregnant which is it the father or
[33:41]the mother that chooses the gender of course it's allah that chooses
[33:46]but it's one of the genders that chooses what this embryo will
[33:50]be a male or female science has discovered that it's the male
[33:57]the male sperm that dictates whether the embryo will be a female
[34:02]or a male because the female has the xx chromosome and the
[34:08]male has the xy chromosome so if the y chromosome is passed
[34:12]on the female gives the x chromosome and the father either gives
[34:17]the x then it will be x x it will be female
[34:20]but if the father gives the y chromosome then it will be
[34:25]a male allah subhanahu wa ta'ala talks about this in the quran
[34:29]allah says in the quran allah says in the quran and god
[34:39]created the pairs the male and the female which is dictated and
[34:45]decided from the sperm when it's released allah subhanahu wa ta'ala talks
[34:51]about this so this is the scientific the technical miracles in the
[34:56]quran we mentioned the eloquence we mentioned that rasulullah he never used
[35:02]to read or write we mentioned the universal truths we mentioned the
[35:07]scientific miracles also another fear feature is that the quran gave information
[35:13]about the unknown rasulullah he is amongst the arabs amongst his people
[35:19]he would speak about the past things that the arabs and no
[35:23]one knew about he would speak about the present things that no
[35:27]one knew about and he would speak about the future the quran
[35:33]is filled with stories the story of prophet nuwah the story of
[35:37]prophet yusuf the story of several prophets the people the arabs they
[35:42]didn't know about these prophets they knew about some of the prophets
[35:46]they knew about prophet hud and prophet salah because they were arabs
[35:50]the people of ad and the people of tamud but a lot
[35:53]of the details that took place in the israelites and with nu
[35:57]and with musa and isa and all of the prophets no one
[36:01]knew about rasulullah he begins to tell people and through the quran
[36:08]specific details of the life of musa the birth of prophet isa
[36:13]and this was something that the quran through the quran rasulullah was
[36:21]revealed was telling people allah says in the quran this is the
[36:30]this is the unseen that we are revealing to you you did
[36:40]not know it and your people did not know it the people
[36:43]did not know about nu and musa and isa they didn't know
[36:47]about it and if the people did know about it they would
[36:51]have came and objected they would have came and said you rasulullah
[36:53]no we did know but no one did this is why the
[36:56]arabs when they heard rasulullah talking about moses and jesus and noah
[37:01]they came and they accepted because they did not know about it
[37:04]yes some of the jews some of the christians they did know
[37:08]about some of the stories of musa and asa however rasulullah he
[37:15]comes to his people and he gives them something that they didn't
[37:18]know it is said that surat yusuf surat yusuf was revealed when
[37:24]a group of jews they came to rasulullah and they tell him
[37:29]tell us the story of the man who was the son of
[37:34]a prophet and he got lost and his father cried for him
[37:38]and then he ended up becoming king rasulullah tells them let me
[37:43]go let me wait until comes and then surat youssef came down
[37:48]all of a sudden then he goes and he recites surat youssef
[37:53]some of them believed in others they did not believe in rasulullah
[37:59]the quran spoke of the present some things were happening in medina
[38:04]or in mecca they were happening on the other side of town
[38:09]suddenly rasulullah through the quran he speaks about it people were shocked
[38:15]people were surprised abbas the uncle of the prophet he was forced
[38:21]to come or he came with the people of badr against the
[38:25]muslims when he came he had his money with him he gives
[38:30]it to his wife al fad he tells her he tells her
[38:33]hide the money here just in case anything happens to me the
[38:36]battle of badr takes place al abbas he gets captured rasulullah tells
[38:41]him oh abbas free the people free free yourself with the money
[38:46]that you have hidden with al abbas was shocked he says no
[38:52]one knew about this other than myself and al fahd and this
[38:55]took place in mecca how do you know about it tells him
[38:58]oh abbas this is the this is the revelation the quran was
[39:03]being revealed one of the miraculous elements of the quran is that
[39:07]it was revealed not all at once it was revealed throughout the
[39:11]twenty three year period and therefore whenever something would happen whenever there
[39:15]were new developments a verse from the quran would be revealed and
[39:19]it would talk about that this is why a lot of people
[39:22]it would reinforce their beliefs because they see anytime they go through
[39:26]an event a verse of the quran would be revealed the quran
[39:30]also spoke of the future the quran talked about the the past
[39:35]the present and the future the quran tells the muslims that you
[39:40]will enter mecca when the muslims were so weak they had nothing
[39:44]with them in fact the day rasulullah migrated from mecca he left
[39:49]his hometown subhanahu wa ta'ala tells him quran your lord is going
[39:58]to take you back to mecca don't worry there was a war
[40:02]going on between the jew between the romans and the persians you've
[40:07]read about this the the war of the romans and the persians
[40:10]this was going on during the time of the revelation of the
[40:13]quran the muslims they were rooting for the romans because the romans
[40:18]were closer in belief they were christian while the others they were
[40:22]further away from belief so while the muslims while the quran was
[40:28]being revealed the romans were defeated so allah subhanahu wa ta'ala brought
[40:32]down the chapter the romans allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the
[40:37]quran the romans have been defeated but they will be the victorious
[40:48]ones sooner or later then later on the romans are going to
[40:59]defeat the persians and that's going to bring joy for the for
[41:03]the believers today history says that seven years later the romans defeated
[41:10]the persians the quran talked about this the quran spoke of this
[41:15]so this is a miraculous element regarding the quran another very important
[41:21]feature my dear brothers and sisters is that the quran is independent
[41:27]of rasulullah whereas the miracle of jesus and moses and abraham and
[41:34]all of the prophets they died with the death of the prophet
[41:37]or with the departure of the prophet moses is not around the
[41:41]miracle of moses is not around anymore jesus is not around the
[41:45]miracle of jesus is not around anymore rasulullah is not around but
[41:49]his miracle is with us and that is the quran so it's
[41:53]independent of rasulullah another very important feature regarding the quran which makes
[42:01]it the greatest of all miracles is that the quran speaks to
[42:06]the intellect whereas the other miracles in front of the prophet the
[42:10]prophets they would do miracles it would speak to the senses they
[42:13]see someone raised from the dead they see something they hear something
[42:17]they feel something whereas the quran when you read it your heart
[42:21]feels that this is god speaking to you your sense feels that
[42:26]this is the quran this is why the quran is always speaking
[42:29]to our senses allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants us to use our
[42:38]senses allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants us to think and realize however
[42:45]my dear brothers and sisters today we see that the quran is
[42:49]neglected the quran is abandoned and the muslims they are the ones
[42:53]who have abandoned and neglected the quran you find that some of
[42:58]the teachings and principles of the quran they're being enacted by the
[43:02]non muslims such as human rights and social welfare and care for
[43:06]others whereas in the muslim countries you find the corruption and you
[43:11]find the lack of obedience to the orders of the quran my
[43:17]dear brothers and sisters we need to make the quran a part
[43:21]of our lives we need to recite the quran we need to
[43:25]have the quran be a part of our daily lives recite one
[43:29]verse recite one page recite as much as you can every day
[43:34]from the quran and more importantly try to understand the quran there
[43:39]are many people who recite the quran perhaps they recite it with
[43:43]a very beautiful voice but there's no understanding of the quran some
[43:48]of the biggest criminals in history who have committed the greatest of
[43:53]crimes they were reciters of the quran like abdul rahman ibn muljam
[43:58]like some of those who fought against imam al hussain those who
[44:02]waged the war against amir al mu'mineen they used to recite the
[44:05]quran this is why rasulullah says quran maybe someone is reciting the
[44:12]quran but the quran is cursing that person why because they separated
[44:17]the quran from the interpreters of the quran rasulullah what did he
[44:22]say he says i'm leaving behind the two eighty things the quran
[44:26]and the al bayt they shall never separate you have to use
[44:29]the al bayt to understand the quran and you have to keep
[44:33]them together what did the ummah do the ummah separated the quran
[44:37]from its interpreter and when the quran is separated from the interpreter
[44:43]then the quran is going to be misunderstood then the quran is
[44:46]going to be misanalyzed then people are going to bring up false
[44:51]interpretations of the quran the same way those criminals in history those
[44:56]terrorists did those who killed imam al hussein they used the quran
[45:00]to kill imam al hussein those who waged the against amir al
[45:03]mumineen they used the quran to curse amir al mumineen because the
[45:09]quran it could be interpreted it's the the meanings of the quran
[45:14]could be interpreted you take a verse out of context you understand
[45:17]it differently and then you come and you fool people imam al
[45:21]hussain he was not killed by a group of people who did
[45:24]not know the quran in fact there was a fatwa issued against
[45:28]imam al hussain alaihi salam but yes they separated the quran from
[45:33]the interpreters who are the al bayt and therefore you find the
[45:38]collapse of the ummah the demise of the ummah where the very
[45:42]grandson of the prophet he's killed only fifty years after the death
[45:47]of the prophet why does that happen this happened because the muslims
[45:51]neglected and abandoned the quran but you find that those who truly
[45:57]appreciate the quran you find that they remain with the quran imam
[46:04]al hussain alaihi salam is one of those who sacrificed and gave
[46:09]everything that he had for the sake of the quran on the
[46:13]day of ashura imam al hussain was killed because he wanted to
[46:16]preserve the quran because he did not want to give a green
[46:20]light for a movement or an individual a tyrant to come and
[46:25]misrepresent the quran and imam al hussein you see his love and
[46:31]his attachment to the quran they say that there was a man
[46:36]by the name of abu abdul rahman islami this man he was
[46:41]a reciter of the quran a quran teacher in medina he taught
[46:46]one of the children of imam al hussein surat al fatah surat
[46:51]al fatah the surah that we all recite in our prayers imam
[46:56]al hussein he saw his son his child came and recited surah
[47:00]al fatiha to the father to imam al hussein imam al hussein
[47:04]was extremely happy that this teacher taught his son surah al fatiha
[47:09]so he took a mouthful of pearls and he gave it to
[47:12]that person and then he took so much gold dinars he gave
[47:16]it and he gave him jewelry some people they said he just
[47:21]told him surat al fatiha why are you giving so much imam
[47:25]al hussain says what i gave him is very little compared to
[47:29]what he taught my son surat al fatiha is what opens your
[47:33]heart surah al fatiha is the keys to paradise surah al fatiha
[47:39]means if you recite it you pray i've seen sometimes i go
[47:44]to some funerals there are some who are old in their fifties
[47:48]sixties they don't know how to recite surat al fatahah and they're
[47:53]muslim surat al fatahah is the key to paradise so imam al
[47:59]hussein he gave the teacher so much just for teaching his son
[48:04]surat al fatah this is someone who appreciates the quran this is
[48:09]someone who will give up his life for the sake of the
[48:11]quran just as imam al hussein did have you seen anyone who
[48:17]is reciting the quran and being killed imam al hussein was reciting
[48:22]the quran and they waged the war against him even after he
[48:26]was killed one of the companions sahil bin sa'adhi sa'adi he says
[48:32]i saw the head of abu abdullah al hussain placed on the
[48:37]spear and i heard the head reciting quran he says i heard
[48:42]the head reciting this verse you think that the people of the
[48:54]cave they were this was something strange he says i looked at
[48:58]the head of abba abdullah while the wind was playing with the
[49:01]beard of imam al hussain and i said your head seeing your
[49:10]head on the staff that is something that is shocking imam al
[49:15]hussein was with the quran and the companions of imam al hussein
[49:19]they were also from amongst those who recite the quran from the
[49:25]sahaba from the companions of imam al hussain there were some who
[49:29]were known as the quran habib they talk about him they say
[49:35]he was one of those who used to recite the quran his
[49:41]whole life he was one of the reciters of the quran in
[49:49]fact my dear brothers and sisters from amongst those who were murdered
[49:53]with imam al hussain there were three or several of the sahaba
[49:58]of rasulullah they were with the prophets in badr in uhud in
[50:04]hunayn and then they were with amir al mu'mineen and now they
[50:08]are with imam al hussain one of them anas ibn kahil al
[50:14]asadi he attended badrul and hunayn and karbala another was muslim ibn
[50:21]asaja another was habib ibn mudahir al asadi this man habib ibn
[50:26]mudahir on the day of ashura he was in his nineties he
[50:30]was an old man but he was fighting fiercely for imam al
[50:35]hussein alaihi salam habib ibn he has a story with rasulullah narration
[50:43]say that rasulullah one day he was with his with the muslims
[50:48]he sees children playing he sees a child playing he goes and
[50:53]he kisses that child the muslims they tell who's this child who
[50:58]is this man who is this young child that you went and
[51:01]you kissed he tells them this is habib this is habib one
[51:06]day i saw habib playing with my grandson hussain and i saw
[51:11]that habib he would take the soil from beneath the feet of
[51:15]hussain and he would place it on his head and he would
[51:18]place it on his eyes so imam al hussain tells them this
[51:24]is this is the young man this is a young child who
[51:27]will sacrifice his life for the sake of my grandson hussain so
[51:32]i love this child dear brothers and sisters the companions of imam
[51:39]al hussain were the reciters of the quran they were those who
[51:42]had the firm faith in aba abdullah al hussain they went and
[51:47]they fought one after the other one of those who fought for
[51:51]imam al hussain was a young child i'm rabbi jonad al ansari
[51:57]his father was killed in the battlefield in the middle in the
[52:01]early on in the battle his father was killed he comes to
[52:04]imam al hussein wearing an armor and he's carrying his sword with
[52:09]him imam al hussain he tells his companions send him back to
[52:14]his mother let her grieve with her son around her she has
[52:18]just lost her husband the young boy he tells it is my
[52:34]mother who sent me to come and fight for you imam al
[52:38]hussein he called the mother she came she tells abba abdullah oh
[52:43]abba abdullah how can your mother fatima be grieved with the loss
[52:48]of her son and i don't grieve with the loss of my
[52:51]son then imam al hussain gave him permission to go out and
[53:03]fight everyone from the companions of imam al hussain they would go
[53:07]and they would talk about their name and their family and who
[53:11]they are this young child he goes out in the middle of
[53:15]the battle and he begins to say he goes and he fights
[53:35]they kill him and they send his head they throw his head
[53:38]to his mother the mother she goes and she grabs the head
[53:42]of her son and she tells him may allah bless you and
[53:47]brighten your face in front of rasulullah just as you made you
[53:53]brighten my face in front of fatima alaihi salam there was another
[53:58]of the companions of imam al hussain one by the name of
[54:02]wahab al kalbi this man wahab he was a christian who converted
[54:08]to the religion of islam along with imam al hussain alaihi salaam
[54:12]with his mother and with his wife he had just gotten married
[54:16]his wife she comes to him on the day of ashura she
[54:19]tells him oh wab we just got married you want to go
[54:23]and fight and leave me all on my own so and his
[54:27]mother on the other side she was telling him oh wab i
[54:31]will not be happy with you until you are killed in the
[54:34]way of abba abdullah so wahab he didn't know what to do
[54:39]but he decided to fight for the sake of abba abdullah he
[54:43]was fighting suddenly from far he heard his wife encouraging him she
[54:49]tells him oh wahab i want you to fight courageously defend abba
[54:59]abdullah he comes to her he tells her my dear wife what
[55:04]happened you were first discouraging me to fight and now you're encouraging
[55:08]me she tells him and now i had told hussein oh wab
[55:20]don't blame me i saw the loneliness of abba abdullah i saw
[55:25]that he's a stranger in the slab so i'm going to be
[55:29]like the woman and children of abba abdullah go and fight wahabbi
[55:35]goes and he fights as he is injured and killed his last
[55:40]voice he tells ali al akbar and the family of imam al
[55:44]hussain he says take my my wife and let her be with
[55:48]the woman of bani hashem
