[0:26]alhamdulillah Musta muham [Music] illuminate your malalis and your hearts with a
[0:49]loud salawat from Muhammad muhamad respected brothers and sisters we mentioned last
[1:05]night that in the same way our bodies can get sick can
[1:10]be afflicted with viruses diseases and sicknesses the souls that Allah subhah
[1:17]wa ta'ala has given us our soul our spirit our heart as
[1:22]the Quran calls the soul can also be afflicted with disease and
[1:26]illnesses and Allah subhah wa ta'ala mentions this in various verses in
[1:33]the Quran we mentioned some of them the first example that we
[1:37]went over that the Quran highlights and mentions a particular type of
[1:43]spiritual disease and sickness when our hearts our souls become sick was
[1:50]the example of hypocrisy nfak and we said that hypocrisy can come
[1:57]in three different forms hypocrisy in belief hypocrisy in oured deeds and
[2:00]hypocrisy in our conduct and we spoke about that Allah considers this
[2:07]as a spiritual disorder because it is similar to bipolar disease how
[2:12]you have two faces you have two personalities a hypocrite Has Two
[2:19]Faces and two personalities and that's why it is considered as a
[2:24]disorder but a spiritual disorder a disorder that afflicts the soul the
[2:29]heart rather than the body and the mind let's continue and mention
[2:37]some more examples that the Quran mentions of how the soul can
[2:41]become struck with disease Afflicted with disease how the heart can become
[2:45]sick so we can be careful and take our precautionary measures not
[2:50]to be afflicted by these diseases the second example is Allah subhanahu
[2:55]wa ta'ala in the Holy Quran he mentions it in verse 32
[3:04]in this verse Allah mentions some of theam of hijab of modesty
[3:13]the goal of the physical hijab is to promote modesty between the
[3:18]opposite genders between a man and a woman and that's why the
[3:25]word hijab if you ever look you want to search for hijab
[3:28]in the Quran you may not find in the way that you
[3:32]want because hijab in Arabic means barrier it doesn't mean the scarf
[3:36]that sisters wear hijab means barrier that's why we see in Du
[3:42]abam IM says that sometimes there is a hijab between us and
[3:48]Allah and th that hijab is our sins it is a barrier
[3:57]between us and Allah so hijab just means barrier you're just creating
[4:04]some room between the opposite genders to promote modesty so Allah mentions
[4:10]the laws of hijab in the Quran and he shows us that
[4:13]there's two types of hijab the first is the physical hijab and
[4:19]this is the hijab that we usually understand that's the physical cover
[4:25]the Allah asael orders Muslim woman to maintain the dress code Allah
[4:32]mentions this in and tell the believing woman to lower their gaze
[4:45]and guard their Chastity and then the Quran says Allah says two
[5:00]things regarding the physical hijab tell the believing woman number one to
[5:06]not show their beauty they have to conceal their beauty from men
[5:10]that are not Maham Maham is your father your son your brother
[5:16]your uncle nephew grandfather if it's not that and it's a male
[5:20]a woman has to conceal her beauty she has to conceal her
[5:26]body from all men but the Quran makes one exception they have
[5:35]to cover the entire body except the apparent the apparent Beauty now
[5:42]what is the apparent Beauty this is amongst the allegorical and ambiguous
[5:48]verses meaning the Quran doesn't make it clear anytime the Quran does
[5:52]not make something clear and it's vague and it can be subject
[5:57]to interpretation what do we do the Quran teaches us we have
[6:00]have to go back to as the verse in mentions and when
[6:08]we go back to the tell us that the entire body of
[6:13]a woman Muslim woman has to be covered except the face and
[6:16]the hands because that is the apparent the apparent Beauty so that's
[6:21]one part of this verse that's the physical hijab and then right
[6:26]after that Allah mentions the scarf the head the Veil and then
[6:32]they have to wear the is this hijab that we call hijab
[6:36]means barrier if you're looking for the word that matches the head
[6:44]scarf it's and Allah mentions that and they have to make sure
[6:47]that they wear their that they wear their all the way to
[6:53]their chest they have to bring it close to their head and
[6:58]over their chest so Allah mentions the physical hijab in this verse
[7:04]but hijab brothers and sisters is not just the physical aspect that's
[7:13]only half of hijab there's also the social hijab what do we
[7:18]mean social hijab how someone conducts themselves my behavior my speech the
[7:27]way I talk my tone how I I speak to others and
[7:32]how I walk my all my behavior this has to always be
[7:38]modest in front of the opposite gender and this second aspect of
[7:45]hijab the social hijab does not pertain to woman only woman and
[7:50]men Allah Asel says that you have to be modest in your
[7:54]dressing you have to be modest in your dress and in your
[7:59]conduct that's why when Allah begins to speak about the laws of
[8:02]hijab he begins with men Allah says tell the Believers to lower
[8:10]their gaze when you see something that is inappropriate you have to
[8:13]lower your head you have to lower your gaze do not look
[8:15]this is a part of hijab yes this is a part of
[8:20]modesty and Allah mentions the same thing for sisters for woman but
[8:27]in addition there is the physical hijab now in this verse that
[8:38]I mentioned verse 32 Allah mentions one of theam one of the
[8:43]laws of the social hijab meaning our Behavior Allah says Allah addresses
[8:57]the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alai he tells them oh wives
[9:02]of of the messenger of the Prophet you are not like other
[9:11]woman you hold a very high and prominent position you're the wives
[9:16]of the prophet of Allah so then Allah tells them what they
[9:20]have to do Allah tells them if you fear Allah then you
[9:33]have to be mindful of your tone in front of other men
[9:38]and Allah gives them an explicit commandment Allah says do not soften
[9:45]your voice in front of men you see sometimes a woman is
[9:55]able to soften her voice in a way that is tempting to
[10:02]the opposite gender remember once a brother told me he was telling
[10:06]me we were having this discussion on hijab and the social hijab
[10:09]and he said my sister he was talking about his sister when
[10:17]she speaks to random other men her voice is so soft sounds
[10:25]like a squirrel like a chipmunk sometimes but when she talks to
[10:29]me at home she sounds like a bear or when she talks
[10:33]to my father and mother what's going on Sometimes some sisters unconsciously
[10:39]do that where the voice softens but not in a modest way
[10:46]in an immodest way the Quran says beware of even your tone
[10:52]when you speak to other men now someone may say why what's
[10:55]a big deal right just my voice what damage can it do
[11:00]wrong Allah tells you to be what to be realistic Allah says
[11:15]Allah says maybe you don't have any bad intentions when you soften
[11:23]your voice in front of men but Allah says but know that
[11:25]amongst men in general in the world there are some who in
[11:32]their hearts there is sickness their hearts are sick their hearts are
[11:38]afflicted with disease so maybe you don't mean anything from that soft
[11:42]voice you're not trying to Signal anything but that individual because of
[11:47]that sickness of the heart of the Soul they will get the
[11:53]wrong message they will misinterpret that soft voice oh her voice is
[11:56]soft that means she's probably sending me a message Maybe she wants
[12:01]to go out with me and no it's something completely normal that
[12:04]the sister is doing so Allah subhana wa tala says be extra
[12:07]sensitive because you may have good intentions but not everyone is like
[12:15]you not everyone has good intentions and what's interesting brothers and sisters
[12:21]about this verse is Allah subhana waala considers those men that cannot
[12:29]control their desire their intimate desire those men that cannot lower their
[12:35]gaze that cannot look the other way that cannot control their desire
[12:39]and discipline themselves Allah considers these individuals as being diseased their hearts
[12:47]are diseased let's say a woman did something wrong she wore inappropriate
[12:58]and immodestly she spoke in an immodest way Allah obviously will hold
[13:06]that person accountable but Allah says that you as a man have
[13:10]a responsibility to what to do tell yourself no look the other
[13:17]way if you don't if you cannot control that desire the Quran
[13:21]says then there is sickness and disease in your in your soul
[13:25]in your heart the one who is tempted by the soft voice
[13:36]and not just tempted but also act upon you see being tempted
[13:39]is one thing the human being has natural Temptations and that's fine
[13:45]but following those Temptations and acting on those Temptations is where Allah
[13:53]subhana T draws the line Allah says I give you intellect Allah
[13:56]subhana wa tala says I give you free will where where's J
[14:00]where's the resistance that you're able to do patience and resistance so
[14:07]Allah subhana T says if someone is not able to resist when
[14:10]they see something they just have to stare this person in their
[14:16]heart there is a disease it's a sickness when they hear they're
[14:19]walking and all of a sudden they hear a soft voice of
[14:22]a sister they have to right away look to the side see
[14:24]what is it the Quran says you have a problem in your
[14:28]heart and soul you you have to discipline yourself you have to
[14:35]seek treatment in order to be able to control this desire so
[14:40]this is another example that Allah subhanahu waala mentions in the Holy
[14:45]Quran of a type of disease that can afflict the soul and
[14:52]unfortunately now you see it so persuasive and rampant in society that
[14:56]there's no such thing as lowering your gaze anymore if you find
[15:03]someone that lowers their gaze in front of the opposite gender you
[15:07]find that first of all it's rare and if you do do
[15:12]see someone like that people will even be confused why doesn't he
[15:18]look why doesn't he look at that person in their eyes when
[15:21]he speaks to them or when she speaks to him what's the
[15:27]issue because it's become so rare that we do not even even
[15:30]understand the value of this virtue anymore that Allah orders men and
[15:37]women when you walk lower your gaze when you see something inappropriate
[15:41]lower your gaze they're doing something Haram maybe they're doing it intentionally
[15:45]unintentionally I don't care my responsibility is to lower my gaze my
[15:51]responsibility is to look the other side that's why the famous Hadith
[15:56]it's mentioned by The Prophet by more than one IM the first
[16:00]luck the first look is for you meaning it's okay Allah will
[16:04]forgive you because the first look you may not know what's there
[16:09]but the second look is against you so let's say you're just
[16:12]looking and then you see something what happens you see it once
[16:17]but then you go back you quickly turn your head again that
[16:20]second turn is where Allah will hold you so the first one
[16:26]you didn't know what was there so that's fine move your head
[16:29]don't look again if you do look again then Allah says then
[16:37]you have a problem in your heart you have a disorder a
[16:39]sickness and because of this disorder you can't help but look so
[16:45]this is the second example of sickness of the soul that Allah
[16:51]mentions in the Holy Quran third example of sickness of the heart
[17:03]and the soul that Allah highlights in the Holy Quran is when
[17:08]we human beings lose our moral compass when our moral compass breaks
[17:13]the Quran considers this as a disorder but it's a spiritual disorder
[17:20]it's a disorder that afflicts the soul the r the heart the
[17:28]Quran says there are some individuals their moral compass breaks and because
[17:44]it breaks they start seeing evil as good and good as evil
[17:53]they're not just doing evil because they don't care I don't care
[17:58]about being evil no they do do evil thinking they really think
[18:03]that they're doing something good and they will refrain some from something
[18:09]that is good thinking that it's evil this the Quran says is
[18:15]a disease of the heart it's a spiritual disorder it's similar to
[18:22]schizophrenia why because you live in a delusional world where you can't
[18:26]see the reality of things good things are bad and bad things
[18:31]are good let me give you a couple examples and there's so
[18:34]many examples today in society and every year we're seeing newer examples
[18:39]of how this disorder this spiritual disorder is becoming worse and worse
[18:47]and more rapid same gender attraction homosexuality if someone a human being
[18:58]is attracted Ed to the same gender what do we call this
[19:05]this in reality is a disorder it's a psychological disorder and by
[19:11]the way it was considered a psychological disorder until a couple of
[19:18]decades ago when the the lobbyists the gay movement lobbyists they pressured
[19:26]the world of psychology ology and and pssy psychiatry in order to
[19:34]remove it from disord so it's no longer an abnormal something abnormal
[19:38]it's no longer a disorder but being attracted to the same gender
[19:44]is a disorder it's a psychological disorder it's a mental disorder that
[19:51]means there's a problem in my body in my mind I'm not
[19:56]supposed to by Design I'm not supposed to be attracted to the
[20:01]same gender now usually what you'll hear today is well what if
[20:06]someone is born with that desire they're attracted to the same gender
[20:10]so what that does not mean it's no longer a disorder some
[20:13]people are born with disorders there's hundreds of disorders that everybody accepts
[20:21]they are disorders but you'll find children are born with it does
[20:25]that mean if you're born with something it's not a disorder no
[20:30]I never chose to be attracted I never chose to be gay
[20:34]okay you never chose that but that does not mean it's not
[20:38]a disorder people who are born disabled never chose to be disabled
[20:40]but they're still disabled there are people who have all these weird
[20:45]types of disorders and they're born with it does that mean it's
[20:48]not a disorder no being born with something or it develops later
[20:58]has nothing to do with it being normal or it being a
[21:02]disorder or else if the rule and the standard is whatever you
[21:08]are born with is okay it's normal it's moral then why do
[21:14]we find that our society stigmatizes pedophiles there are some people with
[21:20]this specific attraction towards children they're called pedophiles right why are they
[21:26]stigmatized I was born with it I never chose to be attracted
[21:33]to Children why are they stigmatized why is that seen as being
[21:36]immoral why there's no answer it all goes back to our desire
[21:38]whatever we like is a disorder and whatever we don't want to
[21:44]consider as a disorder is not a disorder you'll even find when
[21:47]you read about disorders there's a disorder called masochism and that's when
[21:53]someone loves being humiliated and pain through that intimate desire this is
[22:00]considered as a disorder they put it under the different why well
[22:04]I was born with loving humiliation and pain what's a problem with
[22:08]that just being born with a inclination with a desire does not
[22:15]make it normal brothers and sisters this is the biggest fallacy that
[22:18]is used today I was born with it who am I hurting
[22:24]if you're hurting someone or you're not hurting someone that is not
[22:28]the definition [Music] rug and pretend as if these problems don't exist
[23:32]I get calls brothers and sisters from people in our community who
[23:38]tell me that I am struggling with this desire from parents who
[23:43]find out that their children are struggling from their it's not a
[23:47]surprise yes it's disappointing but it shouldn't be a surprise because it's
[23:51]become so pervasive why should I think that our community is immune
[23:58]to this no our community lives in this country just like all
[24:05]other communities and definitely these immoral and liberal ideals and ideologies they
[24:13]will start penetrating even our own communities so we have to protect
[24:16]ourselves we have to protect ourselves physically morally and spiritually if someone
[24:26]has that urge meaning they find themselves attracted to the same desire
[24:31]what does that mean is that a sin listen carefully please do
[24:39]not distort my words and do not take them out of context
[24:42]let me finish the entire paragraph then you can start objecting if
[24:48]someone has these urges is that a sin does that mean Allah
[24:55]hate them Allah hates them absolutely not if someone feels that they
[25:00]are attracted to the same gender you know what that means it
[25:03]means they have a disorder just like pedophile just like masochism and
[25:09]all hundreds of other disorders this is a disorder that Allah has
[25:15]Afflicted with and it doesn't mean that Allah hates me why because
[25:20]this is life this is D Allah is going to test me
[25:23]with so many different ways physical disorders physical diseases mental disorders there's
[25:30]all sorts of problems in this life so if someone finds that
[25:34]they have this urge what do they have to do they just
[25:40]have to practice J they have to fight this urge and resist
[25:43]it just like any other immoral urge that we have doesn't the
[25:54]Quran say that if you don't lower your gaze and if you
[25:57]are tempted by a woman's soft voice and you cannot look away
[26:02]you have a disease in your heart this is a disorder if
[26:05]someone is attracted to the same gender this is a disorder but
[26:10]that doesn't mean this person is evil doesn't mean this is a
[26:15]sin because it's just a feeling feelings cannot be described as Haram
[26:20]or Halal only acts can be described as Halal andam when does
[26:26]it become a sin when someone ask acts upon that feeling when
[26:32]the feeling is expressed and translated into action this is where Allah
[26:41]writes Halal and this is when it becomes a sin so on
[26:43]the day of judgment if Allah holds someone accountable for acting upon
[26:52]this feeling it's never an excuse to say well I just I
[26:55]had this urge so what I have an urge to Rob a
[26:59]bank I could just go rob a bank having an urge and
[27:04]a desire doesn't mean you have to follow it that means I'm
[27:06]an animal animals follow whatever desires that comes across their mind a
[27:11]human being has desires and has intellect and his intellect is supposed
[27:17]to teach him which desires to follow and which to say no
[27:22]when I see that basket being being carried maybe I have this
[27:25]desire just to put my hand and put in my pocket it's
[27:28]not my fault it's just a desire in my heart that means
[27:33]I can act upon whatever desire that I have I see someone
[27:35]driving an expensive car I have a desire to have that car
[27:40]let me just go steal it since one is having a desire
[27:44]an excuse so Allah will tell me you had the desire I
[27:46]tested you with it but you had Free Will and intellect you
[27:51]could have said no don't tell me you couldn't say no don't
[27:54]tell me that you were forced to do this no this is
[27:59]what life life is about it's about patience and J in so
[28:03]when someone acts upon this desire and urge this is when it
[28:10]becomes a sin now that's not the worst of it because when
[28:22]someone acts upon this desire or any bad desire any abnormal desire
[28:28]and they commit that sin they can always repent the door of
[28:33]repentance never closes Allah subh no matter how big my sin is
[28:43]no matter what I did I truly repent and I stop Allah
[28:45]will forgive me so acting upon that desire is a sin but
[28:49]it's not the end of the world because what because you can
[28:52]repent to Allah just like any other sin but do you know
[28:55]what is a travesty do you know what makes this a serious
[29:04]spiritual disease it's when I start to normalize this desire and think
[29:10]that it's okay it's not a disorder that's the problem the problem
[29:17]isn't with just having the desire and Ne and really it's it
[29:21]is a problem but it's not as big when someone acts upon
[29:26]it privately but knows that they're doing doing something wrong and they
[29:31]feel guilty about it and they wish to repent one day that
[29:38]is good that sense of guilt with every sin if there's guilt
[29:41]that will lead me to repent it's not a big deal it's
[29:45]a Haram it's a sin but there's a way out of it
[29:47]but the greatest sin or problem is when you commit the sin
[29:53]and you don't believe it's a sin and this is what the
[29:58]Quran says not only does he commit the evil act but he
[30:04]sees it as good he sees it at this is my right
[30:09]I have the right to act upon this desire I have the
[30:16]right to marry someone and this is normal moral and no one
[30:22]has the right to tell me otherwise this is a disease a
[30:28]disease that afflicts the heart and it's a very very difficult disease
[30:32]to get rid of because if you do not acknowledge your mistake
[30:36]if you do not acknowledge that it's wrong why would you ever
[30:40]repent why would you ever change and that's why brothers and sisters
[30:44]as a general law never stigmatize someone who is struggling with a
[30:50]sin no matter what that sin is as long as they accept
[30:54]it a sin and they're trying so they may not successfully be
[30:58]able to get rid of that said but as long as they're
[31:01]trying that's good we're human beings we make mistakes but we're supposed
[31:09]to repent so do not Stig stigmatize someone as long as they
[31:13]accept it a sin and it shouldn't be talked about and it's
[31:17]kept private and I'm trying to stop it because every single one
[31:22]of us commit sins who's a mum here who's a mum here
[31:24]nobody we all commit sins but we acknowledge that there sins and
[31:27]we try to rep the problem where we draw the line with
[31:30]these individuals is when they no longer acknowledge it's a sin and
[31:38]they want us to accept it no this is my Red Line
[31:43]This is where I'm sorry I cannot accept this anymore because now
[31:48]you're playing with morality you're trying to change the notion of Good
[31:56]and Evil and if people no longer acknowledge evil and good for
[31:59]what it is right and wrong then nothing makes sense in this
[32:02]world so this is one example of when the heart becomes diseased
[32:08]it's when you no longer acknowledge your sins when you long longer
[32:13]see evil for what it is another example from the same category
[32:18]is you can see right now the gender movement right transgender and
[32:23]people that are labeling themselves with all these different genders when a
[32:31]man a biological man feels like a woman is that bad what
[32:35]did we just say not necessarily it's a disorder a man feels
[32:40]like they're a woman that's a disorder there's something there's a imbalance
[32:46]somewhere in their body in their brain it's a disorder if a
[32:50]man feel like feels like a woman or a woman feels like
[32:52]a man it's a disorder when does it become a spiritual disease
[33:02]and problematic when you start lying to yourself and telling yourself that
[33:10]I am really a man and you're not a man I'm really
[33:12]a woman and you're not a woman and everybody has to accept
[33:18]that see the difference someone can feel all these different sorts of
[33:23]feelings I could feel like I'm a rabbit one day I can
[33:28]feel like I'm a car whatever who cares how you feel it's
[33:36]a disorder but when you consider that as normal and everybody has
[33:41]to accept it this is this is when it comes a spiritual
[33:45]disease because now you're playing with morality now you're playing with the
[33:52]laws of Allah because Allah has laws that are specific to gender
[33:58]and if you could easily just switch gender based on how you
[34:01]feel then that means the laws of Allah make no sense why
[34:03]did Allah tala give laws that are dependent on the gender if
[34:10]you can easily just change your gender or if you don't even
[34:13]believe in gender you don't have a gender or you create all
[34:17]these new genders last time I checked there was more than a
[34:20]hundred types of gender if it's just something imaginary in your brain
[34:23]who cares consider yourself whatever but when you act upon it this
[34:27]this is when it becomes problematic this is when it becomes a
[34:34]spiritual disorder you know I was reading about some unusual disorders that
[34:40]can afflict the human beings there's a disorder called The Walking Corpse
[34:45]Syndrome who's heard of that at least you come on weren paying
[34:50]attention met Walking Corpse Syndrome it has another more uh technical name
[34:58]this is a disorder when someone faces this disorder you know what
[35:06]happens to them they're like transgender people they think that they're dead
[35:12]they truly believe that they're dead but they're alive but they identify
[35:18]as being dead or sometimes they think it's I know some might
[35:21]be laughing but it's a real disorder and some of them really
[35:25]believe that they're not I mean it's not like they're trying to
[35:27]fool someone it's a disorder like schizophrenia they're dead they're alive but
[35:32]they think they're dead and you can't convince them otherwise because there's
[35:35]a problem mental disorder or they think they are missing some organs
[35:41]vital organs I've heard I've read some articles where someone goes to
[35:45]the doctor what's the problem I don't have a heart I'm missing
[35:47]a heart what do you mean you don't have a heart so
[35:51]doctors will dismiss it right away thinking this person is e either
[35:54]crazy or they're playing a joke but they have a disorder so
[35:56]they'll have to do an x-ray or whatever where they show them
[35:59]no no that's not my heart this is probably photoshopped right you
[36:01]can't convince them that they have a heart that they have a
[36:03]liver I don't have hands and the hands are there these are
[36:09]disorders brothers and sisters it doesn't mean that you're a bad person
[36:13]it doesn't mean that this is a sin it's a disorder but
[36:16]you have to try your best to acknowledge that this is a
[36:20]disorder do not submit to it if someone feels like they're not
[36:28]a man or not a woman woman meaning different than how biologically
[36:31]they were born that's a disorder it could be a test from
[36:36]Allah subhana tala but you have to fight that urge if you
[36:41]fight that urge as that disorder could elevate your status on the
[36:45]day of judgment the fact that you had these urges and these
[36:51]weird feelings and you thought you were a woman when you're a
[36:54]man but if you fight it and do Jad in that disorder
[36:57]could be the reason why Allah elevates your status on the day
[37:01]of judgment because Allah gave you a difficult test by afflicting you
[37:07]with that disorder but you had the patience and the resilience and
[37:11]the wisdom to say no to think with your intellect and to
[37:16]fight this urge so this is a type of spiritual disease a
[37:23]disease that afflicts the heart brothers and sisters that the Quran speaks
[37:26]about any time when morality starts shifting and this is happening every
[37:33]single day every single day there's new things that used to be
[37:38]immoral are being considered as moral and things that were considered as
[37:42]good are no longer valued in society like modesty modesty doesn't have
[37:47]much value today in this Society me in the US and the
[37:53]liberal Western Society anymore doesn't have too much how many times you
[37:56]see people are praised for being modest and their clothing and their
[38:00]demeanor and their behavior it's no longer of value so this is
[38:07]the third example of a a disease that can afflict the heart
[38:15]muham and finally there's a lot but I will this is the
[38:20]last one I'll mention the fourth example of a spiritual disease spir
[38:27]of a disee disease or sickness that can afflict the heart is
[38:33]this is mentioned in numerous verses in the Quran and this is
[38:39]amongst the worst illnesses that can afflict the heart IM in one
[38:45]verse speaks about this in one Hadith he says he says that
[38:56]there are sicknesses that can afflict the body and the heart and
[38:59]we said the heart means what the spiritual heart your spirit and
[39:03]soul we know what the physical sicknesses are what are some of
[39:06]those spiritual sicknesses how does your heart become diseased and Ill but
[39:13]spiritually not physically the IM says is extracted from a verse in
[39:25]the Holy Quran where Allah subhana T says Allah tala says whoever
[39:31]forgets Allah subhanahu wa taala and does not remember Allah and Allah
[39:35]is not part of their life Allah will afflict them with a
[39:49]spiritual disorder with a problem and that's when people feel emptiness inside
[39:55]void when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is not part of your life
[39:58]life Allah says that know that there will be a time in
[40:04]which you will start feeling this emptiness inside you you'll start feeling
[40:09]this discomfort that cannot be explained by any doctor or physician that
[40:13]comes from the absence of Allah in your heart and in your
[40:17]life the other example he mentions is when worship becomes a burden
[40:32]there are some things that are naturally they're naturally they're naturally we
[40:40]human beings enjoy them naturally there's pleasure in them good food right
[40:45]if someone is offered good food and they're healthy they will enjoy
[40:48]that food that meal but if you're sick if your body is
[40:55]sick sometimes the best meal on Earth they'll bring you the best
[40:58]steak from the best restaurant that's medium rare whatever you like it
[41:06]right and it tastes horrible for you why is there a problem
[41:09]in that steak no you're not a vegetarian or a vegan or
[41:14]whatever the problem is you're sick there's a problem with your body
[41:17]your body does not enjoy the natural pleasures of this Dunya and
[41:20]it can happen to every type of desire and pleasure where you
[41:26]don't enjoy it anymore this is a sick nness you seek treatment
[41:30]IM says one way our hearts and souls become sick you know
[41:34]what's one of the symptoms you want to look for symptoms of
[41:41]your heart being sick your soul being unhealthy is when Salah is
[41:50]boring when Salah is a burden when Dua is a burden and
[41:56]it's boring and you don't like it when conversating with Allah is
[42:03]a burden just know that your soul is sick just like your
[42:06]body could get a flu and you won't enjoy Foods so you
[42:10]have to seek treatment for your soul because naturally Allah subhana T
[42:15]created the soul it should enjoy it should enjoy speaking to Allah
[42:24]reciting the Quran doing good deeds we should get pleasure from this
[42:27]obviously it's not physical pleasure it's also a different form of pleasure
[42:31]spiritual pleasure and that's why when you look at look at the
[42:36]prophet he was asked what do you love from the dun the
[42:37]most he said Salah don't think that Salah is like a chore
[42:42]for the prophet for us it's a chore it's just something that
[42:44]we have to get over with Y Salah time let me go
[42:48]pray and then I'll do what I no it was Allah's love
[42:51]and passion he used to love Salah IM Hussein on the night
[42:56]of Ash you know what he told told his his companions he
[42:59]told his brother AB Abbas go and tell the enemies this was
[43:07]the night of Ash let them give us one more day and
[43:08]let let us spend this night without fighting and then they can
[43:13]start the fight tomorrow let them just give us one night why
[43:15]look at the answer of the Imam so I can spend time
[43:19]with my family so I can enjoy this dun he says so
[43:23]I can spend the night praying to Allah I want to pray
[43:30]Salah and then he says for Allah knows that I love Salah
[43:36]I enjoy Salah like you and I enjoy a good meal or
[43:39]watching sports or watching a movie it's entertainment for the IM but
[43:44]it's spiritual entertainment there is nothing that gives joy to Al IM
[43:53]Hussein to to and not just them to Pious individuals who have
[43:56]what who have kept their souls healthy so if I realize that
[44:03]I don't enjoy these any type of Good Deed sometimes you will
[44:07]not enjoy some good deeds because you're not understanding the philosophy or
[44:11]you don't know what you're saying that's but if you don't enjoy
[44:14]doing all good deeds that means you're unhealthy it's like someone hates
[44:18]walking to some people when they're not fit tell them to walk
[44:22]for 20 feet after 20 feet what does that tell you they're
[44:28]unfit get in shape you're not supposed to be that tired after
[44:34]20 Fe yes if you prayed for three hours you should feel
[44:37]bored and tired but which takes you seven minutes you're already tired
[44:45]and bored that means your soul your spirit is not healthy it's
[44:50]not in shape you have to get it in shape and why
[44:52]does that happen brothers and sisters one reason why this happens is
[45:00]when our hearts Harden the Hadith of the Imam he continues remember
[45:04]he mentioned some of the diseases of the heart the spiritual heart
[45:10]he says and one of the worst sicknesses of the heart is
[45:19]when your heart becomes hard and when we say your heart becomes
[45:22]hard we don't mean it physically it doesn't mean that your veins
[45:29]have come hard and that's why Blood can't go through it no
[45:32]no no no that's the physical illness the spiritual illness is when
[45:39]your spiritual heart becomes hard when you're born Allah gives you a
[45:47]soft heart and one of the effects of having a soft heart
[45:52]is that you enjoy worship is that you connect with the signs
[46:03]of Allah easily when you see the truth it penetrates your heart
[46:08]when you are told an inspiration or inspirational or motivational story it
[46:15]moves you why because that word that story that example can penetrate
[46:24]your heart because it's soft but what happens when your heart is
[46:28]hard and by hard we mean it obviously symbolically nothing will penetrate
[46:38]your heart even if you see and the Beautiful n of his
[46:43]face you'll still go back to Haram you still go back to
[46:45]sin why because that n of the IM can't penetrate your heart
[46:50]because your heart is hard it can't pass just like when the
[46:52]blood cannot pass through your veins and you get a heart attack
[46:55]why does the heart becomes hard one of the main reasons that
[47:05]our hearts become hard and it's hard for us to enjoy worship
[47:09]Dua Salah we're not easily affected and moved by the examples of
[47:19]the Quran and the prophet and the bait is because of the
[47:23]sins that we do brothers and sisters in says when your heart
[47:36]hardens every time you sin your heart it starts becoming a bit
[47:45]harder you sin again and again and again it gets harder and
[47:52]harder until your entire heart is blocked off when that happens nothing
[48:00]will affect you and Allah mentions in this in the Holy Quran
[48:07]some individuals they were never affected by the prophet they were never
[48:12]Guided by the prophet mountains would humble before the prophet but some
[48:17]individuals no what's the problem with them because their sins have completely
[48:22]dominated their hearts it's created their sins a layer a barrier thus
[48:28]nothing can penetrate and when that happens brothers and sisters you just
[48:38]start drowning deeper in sins and in misguidance and nothing can save
[48:42]you there are some people nothing can save them no matter how
[48:45]many lectures how much you speak to them you speak to them
[48:50]nicely aggressively whatever you do there's just no point why because it's
[48:54]the passageway is blocked this is one one of the worst spiritual
[48:59]diseases that may obstruct us so ask Allah subhanahu wa taal to
[49:08]soften your heart and there are certain treatments there are certain ways
[49:14]for us to heal our hearts brothers and sisters to soften our
[49:19]hearts this inshallah I will mention tomorrow night and this is very
[49:23]important we will end inshallah about this series how do we keep
[49:27]our ourselves immune from these spiritual diseases how do I keep a
[49:32]healthy heart such that the Quran says on the day of judgment
[49:41]nothing will help you except the one that comes with a pure
[49:47]and healthy heart how do we purify our hearts and make it
[49:54]healthy such that we have that on the day of judgment inshallah
[49:57]we will mention some of the prescriptions and the guidelines mentioned in
[50:04]the Holy Quran and by the may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless
[50:11]you all and accept your inshallah Monday night Monday night we will
[50:16]be having the celebration of the birthday of Al imass so inshallah
[50:21]we invite you all tomorrow we'll have the program normally but Monday
[50:25]night we will have the celebration we'll have some uh some sweets
[50:29]and candy and we will have inshallah a reciter who will recite
[50:33]poetry inshallah for imass may Allah accept all your forgive us of
[50:41]all our Deeds give us the to and the ability that we
[50:44]are able to purify our hearts during the month of Ramadan
