[0:04]uh Muhammad regime Bismillah alhamdulillah [Music] Allah [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music]
[1:38][Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] respected Elders brothers and sisters in the
[2:36]Quran in numerous places highlights that the primary mission of every Prophet
[2:47]that was sent to their respective communities was twofold there are two
[2:54]main missions the first is the mission of spiritual enlightenment and the
[3:02]second is social Reformation if you look at the quranic descriptions of
[3:08]The Messengers you see that Allah describes them as he says he
[3:20]says Messengers who are bearers of glad tidings and Warners so on
[3:28]one level The Messengers offer the glat tidings that o human being
[3:33]you were created for a higher purpose o human being You Are
[3:40]Not Alone you have a lord who loves you who is compassionate
[3:42]who has invited you to have a relationship with him and The
[3:48]Messengers of Allah they spoke about the Prospect and the prosperity of
[3:54]living with Allah living a life that is god-centric but in addition
[4:04]to that you find that The Messengers also sought social Reformation they
[4:09]spoke about the social ills of their time if you look at
[4:15]the messages of the prophets you find that the messages they're always
[4:23]relevant and they always spoke to the issues of the time if
[4:27]you take for example the story of yes schweib invited people towards
[4:36]the worship of one God he spoke at length about about monotheism
[4:40]but also spoke out against the prevalent social issue ill of the
[4:46]time he condemned the financial exploitation he condemned the unethical business dealings
[4:55]that were occurring in his Society if you look at the life
[5:03]of Musa Musa called people to tohed but he also spoke about
[5:07]the issues of the time he addressed one of the great social
[5:13]ills in ancient Egypt which was the political oppression the discrimination against
[5:18]the Israelites if you look at the life of Islam also invited
[5:25]people towards to read also addressed one of the social and the
[5:31]spiritual ills of the time he spoke out against the corrupt clerics
[5:37]who were obsessed with the letter of the law but they were
[5:43]heedless of the spirit of the law and hence you see time
[5:48]and time again emphasizing on the moral values of the religion speaking
[5:53]about love and mercy and humility and and so on and so
[6:02]forth now the Quran also tells us that is one of the
[6:05]Messengers was a contemporary of Ibrahim in fact the Traditions tell us
[6:17]that Ibrahim was actually the uncle of lul so Lut was the
[6:23]nephew of Ibrahim the Quran tells us that he was also a
[6:28]bearer of glad tidings he invited people towards to head and what
[6:31]life could be if you live a life in accordance with the
[6:37]Commandments of Allah also spoke to one of the issues of the
[6:42]time and he spoke out against the sexual immorality in his community
[6:49]when you look at the Quran you find that Allah makes mention
[6:57]of about 25 prophets by name out of a hundred and twenty
[7:03]four thousand prophets Allah makes it a point to mention about 25
[7:06]of them a very very small percentage among the 25 or so
[7:13]that are mentioned in the Quran you find that Allah mentions the
[7:18]mission of prophet lul in about a hundred verses in the Quran
[7:23]so this is an issue of significance out of a hundred and
[7:29]twenty four thousand prophets Allah chose about 25.
[7:30]out of these 25 Allah dedicates a significant number of verses to
[7:38]the story of Luke now Prophet Salam by name is mentioned 27
[7:45]times in the Holy Quran so therefore you find that the moral
[7:51]story in the story of Luth is significant it's important the Quran
[7:55]dedicates many ayat discussing the story and the mission now when you
[8:04]look at these verses you find that has a number of conversations
[8:11]with his community among the conversations and by the way it's important
[8:16]for us to realize that these prophets were not meant to be
[8:20]individuals who are just left in their historical context meaning that we
[8:26]just speak about them as figures of the past Allah number 90
[8:32]he says to the prophet he mentions a list of prophets and
[8:43]then Allah tells us those are the ones whom Allah has guided
[8:45]Luth is not just this historical figure that has no bearing on
[8:51]my spiritual life Allah says these are people whom Allah has guided
[8:55]and then what does Allah say so seek guidance from their example
[9:03]so what do we find in the conversation that is with this
[9:11]community among the things that he says and this is mentioned in
[9:15]Surah 26 of the Quran he criticizes their sexual deviance what does
[9:21]he say he says are you approaching males with desire and then
[9:31]what does he says you're going towards the males he's addressing the
[9:40]man you are going towards the males with sexual desire and you
[9:45]are turning away from what Allah has created for you in the
[9:50]form of mates does not approach this problem with the mindset of
[10:02]it's okay it's their business let them do whatever they want says
[10:07]what you are indeed a transgressing people it's not okay what you're
[10:16]doing is immoral he condemns it now what's interesting is that the
[10:22]Quran doesn't only mention the condemnation of Lord Allah also mentions the
[10:30]response of his people what was the response of homelt Allah says
[10:37]and this is Ayah 167 of Surat is if you do not
[10:53]abstain and refrain from condemning us from speaking against us what are
[10:57]we going to do we will surely expel you we will kick
[11:05]you out we will cancel you we will Exile you now it's
[11:13]interesting here that the Quran which is a book that rarely goes
[11:17]into details when it tells a story Allah makes it a point
[11:24]to mention the reaction and the attitude of umlut their attitude was
[11:29]what what was Luke doing loot was simply articulating the Orthodox position
[11:35]of all of the abrahamic Traditions he was simply he was simply
[11:41]preaching what is sanctioned sexual morality and the response was what if
[11:48]you speak out against our lifestyle we will expel you now I
[11:53]ask you has the reaction of Home Luther changed today if you
[12:01]are a professor in a university and you simply state that my
[12:06]religious beliefs are not aligned with homosexuality what will happen to you
[12:10]you lose your job you'll be fired in fact just last month
[12:17]a teacher in Canada publicly chastised her Muslim student because one of
[12:25]the Muslim Students in the class did not want to participate in
[12:28]Pride celebrations if you are if you have a job and you
[12:34]simply Express where you stand on this issue you will be tagged
[12:40]as a bigot as someone who's engaging in hate speech you will
[12:44]be expelled from your job you will be expelled from school potentially
[12:49]you might even lose custody of your own children you might even
[12:54]lose your business license what's interesting is that you see that the
[12:59]Quran mentions this reaction and it shows you that the same individuals
[13:05]that speak about tolerance and inclusivity that only applies if you embrace
[13:11]our lifestyle so the attitude of a significant portion of gold has
[13:19]not changed the cancel culture exists even today and it began with
[13:26]Salaam now unfortunately my dear brothers and sisters you know after 9
[13:34]11 Islam especially in the western world became Public Enemy Number One
[13:39]and in the aftermath of 9 11 you see and by the
[13:45]way it's important to mention here that is saying this and he
[13:47]knows that his words are going to offend his community he understands
[13:54]that preaching truth takes priority over protecting people's feelings sometimes you have
[14:01]to risk speaking the truth because if you're going to live your
[14:07]life trying your best not to offend anyone you'll never be able
[14:10]to speak the truth because no matter what you say you're going
[14:13]to offend somebody so our political correctness has resulted in what the
[14:20]loss of Islamic values you know after 9 11 what happened the
[14:25]Muslims found themselves especially in America and in Europe they found themselves
[14:31]being demonized by political establishments for example in the U.S the Republicans
[14:37]weren't mincing their words about how Islam and Muslims are a threat
[14:40]every single Muslim in America in Europe was considered a potential terrorist
[14:44]so what happened Muslims decided to do what they started they decided
[14:52]to because they felt like they were political orphans they needed a
[14:56]protector so they decided to align with the left they decided to
[15:02]align with the Liberals the progressives so what happened the left and
[15:08]the Liberals the progressives whatever label you want to use they decided
[15:12]to embrace the Muslims but it was a conditional embracing meaning that
[15:18]we will embrace you we will work with you but if you
[15:24]challenge our liberal values we will cancel you and therefore in order
[15:29]to be a Muslim politician in the liberal party or in the
[15:33]Democratic Party you essentially have to compromise certain Islamic values and what
[15:40]happens is as time progresses you have Muslim politicians who are participating
[15:45]in Pride Paris what happens is that in an attempt to secure
[15:51]political interests you even have some Muslim Scholars of course they might
[15:55]have their own justifications but I'm speaking about the natural consequences what
[16:00]when you have Muslim politicians and Muslim clerics aligning themselves with the
[16:04]political left naturally what happens is that you have an entire generation
[16:11]of young Muslims who see Scholars rubbing shoulders with individuals who are
[16:16]promoting these ideas you have Muslim politicians who are like that and
[16:22]then all of a sudden what happens the shock value that should
[16:25]be there as a reaction to this deviant behavior is lost now
[16:30]I'm not saying that Muslims should have aligned with the right I'm
[16:35]simply stating that that political Alliance came at a cost this lecture
[16:41]the reality is a lecture like this should have been given 20
[16:44]years ago should have been given 15 years ago because now homosexuality
[16:52]is something that is accepted in fact if you look at the
[16:59]United States in 2007 homosexuality was accepted by 27 percent of American
[17:06]Muslims in 2007 in 2017 it went up to 52 percent in
[17:15]2007 so in a span of 10 years 25 of American Muslims
[17:21]don't have any issue with homosexuality it's not an issue anymore now
[17:26]going back to the verses there's something very important here and that
[17:33]is the statement Ayah number 168 of Surah what does he say
[17:38]so even though they threaten him with Exile they threatened to expel
[17:46]him but this this issue is so important that if you turn
[17:50]a blind eye to this issue the traditional family unit becomes under
[17:56]threat and if you don't have healthy families and healthy families are
[18:01]there to govern the sexual desire that Allah has placed in us
[18:04]if that is threatened then you don't have a society if you
[18:08]don't have Healthy Families if you don't have individuals who understand how
[18:12]to regulate their sexual desires you're not going to have healthy families
[18:16]and if you don't have Healthy Families you don't have a society
[18:19]you cannot build civilizations so despite the threats of expulsion what does
[18:27]he say and look at the Precision of his words [Music] he
[18:37]says and I am towards your action among those who detest it
[18:46]notice Here My Dear brothers and sisters that he refers to what
[18:56]we call today homosexuality he refers to it as an act not
[19:01]as an identity and that's very significant there is no word in
[19:10]the Arabic language especially in classical Arabic that is equivalent to the
[19:15]word homosexuality in fact even heterosexuality as the term did not exist
[19:20]many of you may not know that the term homosexuality or homosexual
[19:27]is a recent term it was coined in the late 19th century
[19:32]by a Hungarian journalist but by the name of karma Maria his
[19:38]name is Carl Maria Kurt Benny Carl Maria Kurt Benny coined the
[19:46]term homosexual and originally by the way it was a medical term
[19:50]referring to those who have sexual attractions towards the the same gender
[19:55]now why is this important why is this important why do we
[20:02]see about 150 years ago or so you see a shift from
[20:07]action to Identity the reason is my dear brothers and sisters is
[20:15]the idea of people identifying themselves through their sexual desires allows them
[20:22]to gain legal sanction for their behavior because there could be a
[20:29]law against a specific Act but how can you have a law
[20:35]against an identity so this transition is very important now when you
[20:41]look at the Quran from a quranic perspective Muslims should even have
[20:46]an issue with the term homosexuality and heterosexuality why because these terms
[20:52]are philosophical assumptions and the philosophical assumption is what that a person's
[21:03]desires are important identity markers the Quran never teaches us that we
[21:11]are our desires the Quran does not teach us that we should
[21:15]equate who we are as people with our sexual inclinations in fact
[21:22]the Quran has a very powerful Ayah where Allah he says have
[21:29]you seen the one who has taken his desire as a god
[21:34]and one of the ways that we take desires as Gods is
[21:39]that we make our desires our essence we make our very desires
[21:46]our complete ident who we are as people so you see that
[21:53]sexuality used to refer used to be what a person does not
[21:58]not who a person is so therefore he emphasizes that this is
[22:07]a Act now if you look at the usage of the term
[22:10]homosexuality in its contemporary usage homosexuality conflates three things it conflates desire
[22:21]so even if someone for example has a same-sex attraction and they
[22:27]don't act upon it such a person by definition will still would
[22:30]Steve would still be considered homosexual if someone acts on the desire
[22:38]they will be considered homosexual now from an Islamic perspective now so
[22:43]what you see today is the term homosexual refers to what it
[22:50]conflates desire behavior and more so than that it has now become
[22:54]a personal and a social identity in Islam we don't have any
[23:02]notion of sexuality as being an identity marker in fact lewad refers
[23:07]to specific sexual acts it's never considered an identity and the problem
[23:12]my dear brothers and sisters is that when you start to think
[23:15]of sexual orientation as an identity the implication is what you can't
[23:24]change it see if you argue that sexual orientation is an identity
[23:32]then this is who you are is saying what this is an
[23:39]action you have free will you have determination you have willpower to
[23:44]resist this action therefore it's very important for us as Muslims to
[23:52]even challenge the language as a Muslim we should say that listen
[23:59]we don't believe in desires being identity markers there's only one identity
[24:03]marker that Allah gives us in the Quran that he has endorsed
[24:06]Muslim the identity that Allah has sanctioned and endorses what the identity
[24:18]of Muslim that you are to be one who submits to Allah
[24:20]not submits to your desire in fact this is even worse than
[24:25]submitting to your desire this is making the desire the identity now
[24:30]my dear brothers and sisters how did we get here how did
[24:37]we see this radical shift from action to Identity how is it
[24:48]that in America in 2007 to 2017 there's a 25 increase in
[24:52]approval of homosexuality among Muslims how did that happen is this something
[24:57]that just organically took place or was this the result of an
[25:04]aggressive propaganda campaign I want to share with you a book and
[25:09]this is a book that I recommend all of you actually read
[25:12]there was a book that was published in 1989.
[25:16]by Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen Marshall Kirk was a gay man
[25:25]he was a neuropsychologist Harvard grad Hunter Madsen was a marketing executive
[25:34]he's also gay and he was a Harvard grad they came together
[25:40]and they wrote a book in 1989 it was published and the
[25:46]book is called after the ball in 1989 it was published the
[25:51]book is called after the ball how America Will Conquer its fear
[26:00]and hatred of gays in the 90s this book became what it
[26:07]became the manifesto for the normalization of homosexuality in America in fact
[26:15]in Western societies and this is not my claim if you read
[26:20]in the beginning of the book there's a paragraph where the authors
[26:23]actually articulate their intention behind writing this book they say for example
[26:32]the campaign we outline in this book after The Ball though complex
[26:39]depends centrally upon a program of unabashed propaganda depends centrally upon a
[26:51]program of unabashed propaganda firmly grounded in Long established principles of psychology
[26:56]Marshall Kirk is a psychologist neuropsychologist and advertising which is the expertise
[27:04]of Hunter Matson so you have a marketing executive and a neuropsychologist
[27:10]they come together to lay out a plan on how we can
[27:13]transform a conservative country like America and by the way the United
[27:16]States is a religious country don't think of LA and New York
[27:23]City the majority of Americans the majority of America is quite conservative
[27:27]now they mention six strategies that should be used to change societal
[27:37]attitudes about homosexuality and I'll share them with you six of them
[27:42]number one they say talk about gays loudly and often talk about
[27:53]them as much as possible why the goal of this is to
[27:59]do what is to desensitize you the more we speak about gay
[28:05]lesbian homosexual the more desensitized you will be and it will become
[28:09]normalized it will become mainstream we should mention it as much as
[28:14]we mentioned Straits so just as there's no Stigma attached to heterosexuals
[28:19]the more we mention gays and lesbians and so on this will
[28:26]achieve the desensitization these are not my words this is what they
[28:29]literally say they say talk about gays often and loudly this is
[28:36]number one number two portray gays as victims not as aggressive Challengers
[28:44]you see human beings See Marshall Kirk understood something about the nature
[28:50]of human beings human beings in their nature they want to come
[28:54]to the rescue of people who are oppressed and therefore if you
[29:00]portray gays as people who are being bullied as people who are
[29:04]victims of hate and abuse if you portray them as victims that
[29:08]means these people need protection these people need support by portraying gays
[29:15]as victims what happens you can gain sympathy you can solicit that
[29:23]sympathy again these are not my words this is an excerpt from
[29:28]the book they say what in any campaign to win over the
[29:30]public they're right gays Muscat be cast as victims in need of
[29:38]protection so that straights because they realize that if we want to
[29:42]change America we need to form an alliance with heterosexuals with straights
[29:47]so that Straits will be inclined by reflex to assume the role
[29:53]of protector it's not an accident this is a very well thought
[29:57]out campaign this is number two number three they say give protectors
[30:05]a just cause human beings love to join a campaign that serves
[30:08]a noble purpose so what do they say they say our campaign
[30:14]should not demand direct support for homosexual practices they say that you're
[30:18]not going to be able to to gain support and build allyships
[30:21]with heterosexuals if you make the theme of your campaign we want
[30:27]to engage in homosexual Behavior no one's going to support you but
[30:30]if you make the theme something Noble what do they say our
[30:36]campaign should not demand direct support for homosexual practices but rather take
[30:41]anti-discrimination as its theme no no you're not supporting homosexual Behavior you're
[30:48]supporting anti-discrimination you're supporting equality so we have to give this a
[30:56]noble cause something that people can sign up for because if this
[30:59]is about sodomy no one's going to sign up for that they
[31:02]say that this has to be about anti-discrimination number four make gays
[31:09]look good these are their words make gays look good if there's
[31:15]any person who is great an athlete who identifies as a homosexual
[31:20]puts them up on a pedestal celebrate them in fact I'm sure
[31:25]you guys have noticed that if there's any prominent figure in human
[31:30]history there's always going to be an allegation of or maybe he
[31:32]was homosexual I saw a documentary about Abraham Lincoln a few years
[31:35]ago in the documentary apparently Abraham Lincoln he had a boyfriend you
[31:40]are Aristotle the great thinker oh he was also gay Plato was
[31:46]gay this guy all of the greats there is discussion about their
[31:52]sexual orientation why because the goal is to do what pains and
[31:57]portray gays as Superior pillars of society this is this is what
[32:01]they wanted to achieve number five make the victimizers look bad so
[32:10]portray gays as victims and make the victimizers look bad so we
[32:17]got to start getting tough with the so if if these first
[32:21]four steps haven't worked those who are still against homosexuality we got
[32:25]to be a little bit tougher on them we have to vilify
[32:29]those who oppose homosexuality make anti-gaze look nasty show pictures and footage
[32:40]of the KKK show images and footage of Isis of daesh speaking
[32:44]about how they want to terminate gays why do you do this
[32:52]because if you make the anti-gaze look evil Americans will naturally want
[32:57]to disassociate no no no no don't call them these are homophobes
[33:00]you want to be like them no no no no associate and
[33:06]number six is what solicit funds now that you've built this campaign
[33:11]you've portrayed them as victims who need support now you can ask
[33:17]for money and some of the most powerful lobbyist groups in the
[33:21]West in America are the lgbtq now what do they do with
[33:28]the funding they spend their money for example targeting countries abroad Islamic
[33:32]countries that might want to implement an Islamic legal system they start
[33:40]for example abolishing hadud relating to the punishment they for example they
[33:46]decriminalize homosexual Behavior that's why a lot of them were up in
[33:50]arms about you know uh what was going on in Papa during
[33:54]the World Cup a lot of them wanted to kind of publicize
[33:56]and promote even though that behavior is criminalized in certain countries legalize
[34:02]LGBT spaces legalize gay marriage and probably and of course introducing hate
[34:12]speech to Simply preach morality is hate speech to Simply state that
[34:19]Islam and homosexuality are inconsistent you cannot act on these desires to
[34:24]Simply state that you're a bigot you're a hateful person you can
[34:29]get into legal trouble simply for expressing these ideas and probably the
[34:34]most dangerous is make LGBT education mandatory this is what has happened
[34:41]lgbtq lobbyist groups they pressure and they fund certain politicians so they
[34:46]can introduce legislation to make lgbtq and gender ideology a part of
[34:53]the curriculum that's taught to your kids this is what's happened and
[34:57]it's even had as I mentioned it's had a damaging effect on
[35:01]the Muslim Community as I mentioned about half of American Muslims don't
[35:05]oppose homosexuality it's acceptable to them in fact some have gone even
[35:12]further than that in recent years you have some reformist Muslims who
[35:20]are now arguing that the Quran doesn't condemn homosexuality you misunderstood the
[35:28]story of luld so what's the meaning in fact there was a
[35:31]an author Scott kugel he wrote homosexuality in Islam and in his
[35:39]book he basically argues that the sin the crime of om Lut
[35:45]was not same-sex relations it was rape and therefore Allah in the
[35:52]Quran is condemning rape if it's consensual relations between two men that's
[35:58]absolutely fine there's nothing wrong with that now when you go to
[36:05]the Ayah anyone who even has a basic understanding of the Arabic
[36:10]language it's very obvious what is being condemned here if you look
[36:15]at the Quran Allah in Ayah 81 of Surah what does he
[36:17]says Nissa Luther's criticizing he says you are going towards men with
[36:32]desire instead of women if the crime was rape why would Luth
[36:38]say instead of women so do you want me to believe that
[36:44]is saying do not rape men rape women is this saying condemning
[36:51]their sexual behavior with men are you having relations with men instead
[36:57]of women meaning instead women to have it with women is natural
[37:03]is is in accordance with the filter now this is an argument
[37:09]number one if you look at the Ayah it's very clear that
[37:11]what is being condemned is sexual desire and acting on sexual desires
[37:18]with the same gender the second argument is that if the sin
[37:23]of om Lut is simply rape why is it offers his daughters
[37:34]say he says because when the Angels Came to announce The Descent
[37:50]of adab upon them his people came they saw you know handsome
[37:55]young men who were actually Malaika they didn't know and he says
[38:02]what he says these are my daughters they are pure for you
[38:06]if these people were committing rape does it make sense foreign it's
[38:13]very obvious that the sin is acting on these same-sex attractions now
[38:23]this is number two number three is and this is very important
[38:28]and I want everyone to pay attention Allah destroys Sodom and Gomorrah
[38:37]the people of lud Olt is completely destroyed among them is the
[38:45]wife of Luth my question is what was the crime of lute's
[38:54]wife she did not she was not a homosexual she did not
[39:00]commit any act any act that was sexually immoral she was punished
[39:06]for what for promoting for being an ally of this community she
[39:12]was punished a lot punished yes Allah we don't need to mince
[39:18]our words she so look at the severity of the sin whereas
[39:20]those who engage it are punished and those who Advocate and promote
[39:26]it are included in the punishment the wife of Luth was not
[39:31]raping anybody she was not engaging in homosexual activity but she was
[39:36]included in the punishment because she was a promoter she was an
[39:44]advocate of this lifestyle now my dear brothers and sisters there are
[39:50]people in our community because we have to be realistic there are
[39:55]people in our community who suffer and who struggle with same-sex attractions
[40:03]it exists but as I said from an Islamic perspective you are
[40:09]not a homosexual just because you have a desire we have to
[40:15]be very clear here do not let anyone convince you that this
[40:18]is a part of your identity and it cannot be changed or
[40:23]controlled those who struggle with same-sex attractions I have a very humble
[40:28]message to you and by the way we should never assume arrogantly
[40:31]that we know what it feels like to live with these desires
[40:36]we have to have the humility to just concede to the fact
[40:41]that we will never understand what it's like to struggle with these
[40:46]desires for those who struggle with same-sex attractions number one is you
[40:51]are still a Muslim do not allow anyone to convince you that
[40:57]you're an apostate you're not a Muslim especially if these desires are
[41:01]involuntary in fact if they're involuntary and you truly don't have any
[41:05]control over them it's not a desire to have that sin assuming
[41:08]that it's out of your control the sin is what to act
[41:13]on that desire so if someone has that same sex attraction you
[41:17]are still fully Muslim no you're not you did not apostate in
[41:21]fact even if someone God forbid engages in same-sex relations you're still
[41:27]a Muslim you committed a sin you committed a major sin but
[41:33]you have not left Islam so even if you have committed this
[41:38]act do not leave your Salah still fast in the month hold
[41:41]on to the rest of your Deen do not let go of
[41:43]everything because the reality is all human beings struggle with desires that
[41:51]they cannot act upon you know usually when we speak about controlling
[41:55]desires we often think about okay homosexuals have to control this urge
[42:00]heterosexuals often also have to control their sexual desires now some may
[42:05]say but but a homosexual has no Prospect of fulfilling that desire
[42:11]but I tell you my dear brothers there are a lot of
[42:14]heterosexuals that are never going to get married and they also don't
[42:16]have a Halal outlet for their desires I've met many Muslims who
[42:21]have certain disabilities they're heterosexual and they're not simply not able to
[42:27]get married that's the nature of this life brothers and sister this
[42:30]life is a place of trial and tribulation so in the same
[42:32]way a heterosexual sometimes has to control their desires they don't have
[42:37]a Halal Outlet a homosexual someone who has these same-sex attractions they
[42:42]might not have they don't have Halal Outlet and in fact my
[42:47]dear brothers and sisters it's important to note here that if someone
[42:53]struggles with same-sex attractions if they are able to curb those desires
[42:59]and not act upon it not only are you not punished but
[43:04]in fact Allah will elevate for your self-control in fact Allah what
[43:09]does he say in the Quran those who struggle in our way
[43:20]Allah says I will guide I will guide them so if you
[43:25]struggle with the same sex attraction do not lose hope do not
[43:30]lose hope in Allah seek his help and I know it's not
[43:36]easy it's difficult but Allah tests all of us in different ways
[43:41]now we have to make a distinction here there are those who
[43:48]understand that homosexuality is a sin and they're struggling with it these
[43:53]individuals are very different from those who are trying who are coming
[43:57]out and saying homosexuality is perfectly okay there's a big difference between
[44:04]it's like someone who doesn't pray and they know Salah and someone
[44:08]who doesn't even believe in Salah are they the same if someone
[44:12]struggles with same-sex attractions and let's say they even end up committing
[44:17]it but they fully understand that this is something that is forbidden
[44:21]they're still Muslim but if someone comes out and says homosexuality is
[44:26]halal and I don't care what the Quran says times have changed
[44:30]they're not even Muslim anymore they have left the fold of Islam
[44:38]because of the prohibition of homosexuality is one of the fundamentals of
[44:43]the religion and this is where we have to be very careful
[44:47]if someone struggles with same-sex attractions we should not be like those
[44:55]individuals I mean last month was was known as pride month where
[44:57]you have people coming out you know in Islam we don't have
[45:02]this concept of coming out with a sin if you committed the
[45:07]sin this is between you and Allah to come out for someone
[45:10]to boast and come out and be proud of a sin that
[45:13]they're committing this is the height of ingratitude towards Allah because one
[45:20]of the one of the attributes of Allah is that he is
[45:24]the concealer of faults he's the concealer of sins should not share
[45:31]their sins with the public of course if it's a counseling session
[45:34]and you're trying to work on yourself that's separate and by the
[45:38]way if you go back to the eye it's interesting that if
[45:41]Prophet was alive today his statements towards this community would be considered
[45:51]homophobic if Prophet Luth was alive today his offer to his community
[45:57]would have been considered a harmful practice because they would accuse him
[46:02]of engaging in conversion therapy here are my daughters you don't you
[46:05]know you can change if Prophet was alive today some Muslims would
[46:11]consider him a bigot a homophobe but what does Allah say guided
[46:22]so follow their example so my dear brothers and sisters when we
[46:27]look at this issue we have to be very vigilant what's happening
[46:34]is not something that happened organically this was a campaign to change
[46:40]public opinion and in fact I want to conclude with a statement
[46:43]from Imam there's a narration it's a very lengthy narration where Imam
[46:58]Assad that speaks about the end of times speaks about the end
[47:04]of times and he goes into details about the prevalence of certain
[47:08]sins and among the sins that he mentions is homosexuality will be
[47:15]widespread and then after listing the prevalence of this what is Imam
[47:24]Assad that say s in this kind of atmosphere and climate should
[47:35]be on guard should be very careful you should pray to Allah
[47:45]for salvation you should pray to Allah for guidance because of the
[47:48]complete degeneracy that's that exists in the world today and then what
[47:52]does he says and know that the people are under the wrath
[48:03]of Allah don't be dis deceived by The Pride parades and everybody's
[48:09]Mary and they're singing as if nothing's happening Allah is giving them
[48:19]time he's giving them respite for an affair that is known to
[48:24]him there's a wisdom behind it and then the Imam says what
[48:29]be very vigilant do not let your guard down be very Vigilant
[48:35]in protecting your deed you need to work hard you need to
[48:41]exert yourself um you need to work hard to demonstrate to Allah
[48:50]that you're not like them you're not like them that you are
[48:57]that they're on one side of the spectrum and you are on
[48:59]the other side of the spectrum why because if Allah decides to
[49:09]punish them and you're among them Allah will take you towards Israel
[49:16]and if the punishment is delayed then Allah will not include you
[49:25]among them and then Allah then the Imam says know that Allah
[49:32]does not waste he does not miss he does not forget the
[49:36]efforts of the good doers the Imam says you have to separate
[49:42]yourself from people who engage in this deviant Behavior because you don't
[49:47]want Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to see you as one of them
[49:49]there needs to be a line in the sand that this is
[49:53]where we draw the line that we're different and this is what
[50:00]the Quran says when Allah describes he says the Servants of Allah
[50:14]they are they're not they're not just the ones who don't commit
[50:18]corruption they do not want corruption to be connected the problem is
[50:25]if in your heart you do not renounce homosexuality there's a problem
[50:31]with your Iman you're committing a sin just by not renouncing it
[50:35]with your heart this is for you to be so desensitized and
[50:39]indifferent this is what Imam Assad that was saying when facade spreads
[50:46]you are not allowed to be indifferent now if you might if
[50:49]you can't speak at least at the level of your heart this
[50:54]should bother you you should be distressed you should be very uncomfortable
[50:58]with what is happening you shouldn't celebrate this as progress this is
[51:04]not progress this is degeneracy this is regression and this is this
[51:09]is exactly what Imam and Hussain said Imam and Hussein one of
[51:18]his statements one of the most powerful statements when he reaches when
[51:25]he's blocked by from entering kufa Imam and Hussein Ali salaam he
[51:33]pauses for a moment he says in fact before he says that
[51:40]he says what foreign he says indeed the world has changed current
[51:56]and the world has become evil the world has become corrupted and
[52:04]goodness has left this world and then what is the Imam say
[52:10]Allah this was 14 centuries ago at the time of Imam Hussain
[52:18]he says do you not see truth truth is not acted upon
[52:22]no one acts upon how and then he says on Imam Hussain
[52:31]he says I'm living at a time where truth is not upheld
[52:35]and evil is not prohibited and then the Imam he says foreign
[52:51]to me is a source of happiness I don't see death except
[52:56]prosperity for me and to live with the unjust and with corrupt
[53:07]with the corrupt is nothing but misery this was Imam and Hussein
[53:11]this is what makes Imam and Hussain unique in the ummah of
[53:19]rasulullah he was the only one who was willing to stand up
[53:24]against the unprecedented facade of his time he was the only one
[53:30]who was willing to speak up because the so-called Khalifa was violating
[53:38]all of the laws of Islam and the people were now associating
[53:44]his behavior with Islam so Imam and Hussain wanted to break that
[53:47]Association the actions of the Khalifa and Islam he wanted to separate
[53:55]the two he did not want to give sanction or credibility to
[53:58]the khilafa of yazid because he wants to preserve the true Islam
[54:04]and this is why the sacrifice of Imam Hussain is so great
[54:09]that even the prophet sallallahu alaihi wept for there's a narration that
[54:23]um the wife she one day she came to the prophet she
[54:27]said Allah [Music] I saw a bad dream I saw a nightmare
[54:38]rasulullah what did you see she says it's a very terrible dream
[54:47]I'm afraid to share it with you he says what is it
[54:54]what did you see she says to him Allah [Music] in the
[55:06]dream I saw a piece of your flesh being cut from your
[55:12]body and that lump of Flesh from your body was placed into
[55:15]my lap he says you sought a good dream ER to foreign
[55:31]he says I give you the Glad Tidings father and I will
[55:35]one day give birth to a child a young boy and that
[55:41]young boy will be in your lap um she says that indeed
[55:45]the words of the Prophet came true she gave birth to Imam
[55:54]and Hussain and when he was a young baby I used to
[55:59]hold him in my lap she says one day I went to
[56:05]the prophets and I took the young Hussein and I placed him
[56:09]in the lap of rasulullah and then she says she says I
[56:19]placed Hussein in the lap of rasulullah and I began glancing at
[56:27]the face of rasulullah suddenly I saw the prophet's eyes filled with
[56:35]tears I said to him foreign why are you crying your demeanor
[56:51]has changed why are you weeping did something happen is there something
[56:54]wrong with Hussein is there something wrong with the baby [Music] says
[57:11]let's just come to me what did he say and he said
[57:18]to me [Music] your nation will kill this young boy rasulullah says
[57:33]to everyone in the family do not tell father about this he
[57:42]says do not tell do not share this with the prophet wanted
[57:47]to wait for the right moment to share the tragedy of Imam
[57:52]and Hussein the tradition say one day rasulullah he informed about what
[58:01]was Abdullah begins to cry and cry and cry she begins to
[58:14]weep and she says to him when will this happen to my
[58:26]beloved Jose rasulullah says this will happen long after we are gone
[58:36]this will happen after my death this will happen after the departure
[58:41]of Ali after your death after the death of his older brother
[58:45]and do you know what says the question of Fatima breaks the
[58:53]heart here she says if Hussein is going to be martyred after
[59:01]all of us pass away who will cry for Jose [Music] who
[59:15]will hold sessions of mourning for my crusade and this is where
[59:20]the prophet he says he gives father to the Glad Tidings and
[59:22]these are Glad Tidings for all of you brothers and sisters you
[59:28]are the answer to the Dua of father rasulullah says um rasulullah
[59:39]says the women of my ummah they will mourn the women of
[59:49]the men of my ummah will mourn the men of my animals
[59:56]he says and on the day of judgment foreign and I will
[60:24]be the intercessor of all the men who cried for Abba Abdullah
[60:34]and any one of them who shed a tear foreign and they
[60:53]will take them to Paradise foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music]
[62:26]Akbar is [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign
