[2:00]Elders brothers and sisters last night we spoke about the qualities and
[2:15]the attributes of a high quality woman and I'm sure the sisters
[2:25]have been anticipating this talk tonight I was going to do a
[2:28]part two but I thought there would be a revolution if I
[2:30]do a part two so let's speak tonight about what it means
[2:34]to be a high value man as I mentioned last night this
[2:39]is a pop culture term that refers to a set of traits
[2:48]and qualities that make a man desirable in the modern era this
[2:53]is the type of man that a company wants to hire this
[2:57]is the type of man in whose presence people want to be
[3:01]and this is the type of man who would be considered marriage
[3:05]material and the list goes on now the question is what does
[3:12]it mean to be a high value man from an Islamic perspective
[3:15]because if you look on social media you'll see many posts about
[3:20]you know this is what a high value man is and you
[3:21]have a list of traits a list of things that you should
[3:25]aspire to develop within yourself but the question for us as Muslims
[3:31]who want to attain nearness Allah who understand that there is a
[3:36]higher purpose to life we want to know what does Islam say
[3:39]about high quality men because unfortunately when you look at the literature
[3:44]that's available today when you look at social media and you want
[3:48]to understand what a high value man is usually it revolves around
[3:54]making yourself more marketable to women a high value man if you
[3:58]really look at what's available today it offers a very gynocentric worldview
[4:04]gynocentric means develop these qualities so you don't have to chase after
[4:09]women women will chase after you but Islam teaches the man that
[4:19]you should not have a gynocentric worldview you should have a god-centric
[4:24]worldview therefore the First Quality of a high value man just like
[4:33]we mentioned with respect to a woman is taqwa and Iman if
[4:38]you don't have a relationship with Allah if you are a faithless
[4:45]person if you are a Godless person if you live a life
[4:51]of rebelliousness a life of sin and you have no regard for
[4:56]the presence of Allah you are not a high value man we
[5:02]have a beautiful narration from a man by the name of paulus
[5:06]was a contemporary of Imam he says one day I was in
[5:24]Mecca and it was night time at that time night means there's
[5:29]it's really dark there's no electricity it's Pitch Black he says I
[5:34]entered into Masjid al-haram and I could hear a voice coming from
[5:38]near the cab a very beautiful voice supplicating to Allah [Music] o
[5:48]Allah the stars of your the stars of your Sky have set
[5:54]foreign and this person who's reciting the Dua he could just hear
[6:01]the voice oh Allah the stars of your Sky have set and
[6:04]the eyes of your creation have closed its eyes to sleep and
[6:12]the Kings have locked their Gates your gate is still open he
[6:23]says I was listening to this beautiful Dua and I was moved
[6:29]by it I was moved by the spirituality of this man who
[6:34]was reciting the Dua so I came I had a lantern with
[6:40]me and I came closer to see who this man is and
[6:42]he says lo and behold I saw that it was Imam he
[6:50]says I looked at him and I said this is how you
[6:54]speak to Allah with eyes filled with tears begging Allah for forgiveness
[6:58]you're begging him for his Mercy he says to him why are
[7:08]you praying in such a way why are you crying in your
[7:11]Dua you are the son of Ebby Abdullah Hussain your grandfather is
[7:18]your great grandfather is the prophet your great-grandmother is Lady Fatima your
[7:24]great great grandmother is say the Khadijah his understanding is you are
[7:33]a high-value man because of the family that you come from what
[7:40]does he saying he redefines what it means to be a high
[7:43]value man he says don't tell me about who my father is
[7:55]and who my grandfather is because a high value man is not
[8:00]about who your dad is it's not about who your grandfather is
[8:02]or what family you come from Imam said John says he says
[8:18]Allah has created Jannah for his obedient servant even if that person
[8:24]is an Ethiopian slave and Allah has created the Hellfire for his
[8:33]disobedient slave Allah has created the Hellfire for his disobedient slave even
[8:42]if he is from the tribe of the prophet what makes you
[8:48]high value is how obedient you are to Allah this is what
[8:52]Imam is highlighting we have another narration from the prophet where he
[9:00]says you know sometimes you look at what meaning you might think
[9:08]that this guy's a nobody he is not popular he's not a
[9:10]prominent person in the community the prophet says is more known in
[9:20]the heavens is as known in the heavens though he says is
[9:28]as known in the heavens as he knows his own family on
[9:34]Earth is known in the heavens and then then the prophet says
[9:45]a motorman to Allah is more dear to Allah than the Angels
[9:54]who are closest to him not just the Angels who are in
[10:00]closest proximity to him a Mormon has more honor this is what
[10:04]a high value man is a man who is obedient to Allah
[10:09]who's God conscious who's God fearing and this is why my dear
[10:14]brothers and sisters if you look at the Quran the Quran gives
[10:16]us examples of people who are not known at their time at
[10:22]their times they were unknown was a slave luqman was not a
[10:27]man of wealth he was not the best looking man in fact
[10:30]he was an unknown person during his time Allah reveals an entire
[10:37]Surah in the Quran after him he's a high value man because
[10:43]of his faith because of his takawa because of his Iman this
[10:46]is number one so I have 10 qualities that we're going to
[10:50]go to we'll try to go through them as quick as possible
[10:52]but these again this is not an exhaustive list but these are
[10:57]some of the what I believe are qualities that we really need
[10:59]to focus on in order to truly be high value men in
[11:05]the sight of Allah because as I said it doesn't matter what
[11:08]people think people can put you up on a pedestal if Allah
[11:13]has not elevated you you're not high value number two the second
[11:20]quality of a high value man is a high value man is
[11:26]truthful and trustworthy a man is only as good as his word
[11:31]if you want to be a high value man that means your
[11:36]words have to mean something when you make a promise you fulfill
[11:41]that promise Allah in the Quran when he speaks about real men
[11:48]from among the Believers there are men who are true to their
[11:55]promise to Allah first and foremost be a man of your word
[12:00]with God that's a promise you're making your words should not be
[12:11]meaningless a high value man honors his words he honors his promise
[12:18]to Allah and he honors his promises to his wife to his
[12:24]children do not be the type of person who over promises and
[12:29]under delivers that's not a high value man a high-value man is
[12:35]actually the one who promises and over delivers a high value man
[12:41]is someone like Abel father La Abbas that he would guard the
[12:50]women of the children do you think he was sleeping at night
[12:52]on the eve of Ashura he made a promise and he lived
[12:58]up to that promise he promised Imam Hussain that your family is
[13:04]safe with you and that's why he gave his arms because a
[13:08]man is only as good as his word so if your words
[13:13]don't mean anything you're not a you're not a real man you're
[13:15]not a man of high value and this applies to even our
[13:19]interactions with potential spouses if you're recording a young lady don't promise
[13:24]to marry her and fool her and trick her be a man
[13:29]of your word if you don't intend on marrying this girl say
[13:33]it don't hide don't be manipulative be a man of Truth be
[13:39]a man of Honor a man is only as good as his
[13:42]word we have nothing in this life except our words everything can
[13:45]be taken from you but at least hold on to those promises
[13:49]that you make this is number two number three is modesty don't
[13:58]think that Allah only requires the women to be modest is the
[14:06]quality of male or female in fact we have a narration from
[14:12]Imam Imam Assad he says Allah if you don't have modesty you
[14:29]don't have faith don't have Iman you can pray as much as
[14:32]you want you can be the best reciter of the Quran you
[14:36]can go to ziara every month if you don't have shame if
[14:42]you don't have Haya you don't have modesty you don't have faith
[14:46]we have to learn how to dress modestly and how to behave
[14:53]modestly some of us we don't behave modestly with sisters we don't
[14:59]we're too flirtatious we cross the line we cross the line and
[15:06]if you want a rule of thumb how should I conduct myself
[15:10]when I'm interacting with sisters it's actually very simple it's not rocket
[15:15]science interact with that sister the way that you would want someone
[15:19]to interact with your daughter would this be acceptable if someone did
[15:23]this to your daughter it's very simple we don't need to complicate
[15:27]things we know that's why Allah even if you've never read ah
[15:32]Hadith or you've never read the Quran Allah is still going to
[15:35]hold you accountable on the day of judgment because you have a
[15:41]conscience you know when you're crossing the line if you look at
[15:44]the story of Musa in the Quran Allah tells us about his
[15:47]interaction with the daughters of shahib when he came to medium well
[15:55]he came to media and he was fleeing Egypt he saw a
[15:59]bunch of shepherds around the well done and then he saw two
[16:07]young ladies standing away from the crowd and this is one of
[16:10]the beautiful isharat one of the beautiful subtleties of the Quran the
[16:14]reason why those two girls are not mixing with the crowd is
[16:19]because they're the daughters of shribe it is indecent for a lady
[16:22]to mix and brush shoulders with men he sees these young ladies
[16:29]and what does he do what's why are you standing here he
[16:35]gets straight to the point this is what we need to learn
[16:39]from Musa there are some guys they sit around and they just
[16:41]talk they just like to chat with girls do you have something
[16:45]to say or you just want to waste time a high value
[16:51]man is very straightforward in his interactions he goes to these ladies
[16:58]their response is what we're not going to water our flock until
[17:05]the Shepherds dispersehran and our father is an elderly man notice the
[17:15]daughters of shaib they answer the question that they anticipate Musa is
[17:21]going to ask because this next question would have been don't you
[17:24]have any men in the family why are you doing this so
[17:26]before Musa even asks they answer they give that answer that we
[17:29]have an elderly father why to minimize unnecessary talk between the two
[17:37]genders does Musa flirt with them this very formal Musa is very
[17:44]formal in the way that he conducts himself with these ladies he
[17:47]Waters of their flock and he goes away he doesn't hang around
[17:52]he doesn't chit chat for the sake of chit chatting he goes
[17:55]and sits away from them this is what we need to develop
[18:00]in ourselves and when then when one of the daughters comes back
[18:04]when one of the ladies came back the daughters came back she
[18:10]was walking bashfully look at how respectful she doesn't say I would
[18:14]like to invite you to my house she says my father wishes
[18:18]to invite you to our house to compensate you for what you
[18:23]did for us Musa responds to the invitation as they're walking back
[18:27]look at this look at what it means to be a high
[18:30]value man she's walking in front of him he says please it
[18:34]would be better if you walk behind me because it's not appropriate
[18:39]for a man to look at the backside of a woman this
[18:41]is this is a high value man who has Haya who's decent
[18:48]there's a Hadith from Imam Assad we gave part of the Hadith
[19:03]yesterday for the Sisters about those women who are beautiful but their
[19:09]beauty causes them to fall into sin they Adorn themselves they put
[19:13]themselves out there and they commit Haram because of their beauty now
[19:18]the other part of the Hadith is about those men who are
[19:24]also handsome they're good looking and if you go on their social
[19:29]media they're always posting shirtless pictures of themselves and they're putting themselves
[19:33]out there and they're very immodest in their demeanor and their appearance
[19:38]very flirtatious they do not observe decency in their interactions there's a
[19:44]Hadith above them too a handsome man on the day of judgment
[19:52]will be brought forward a man who fell into sin because of
[20:01]how good looking he was the women were chasing him the girls
[20:04]were all over him holds them accountable so what does he say
[20:12]he'll say the same thing that the the girl said the lady
[20:13]said on the day of judgment you're the one who made me
[20:19]good looking it wasn't my fault they were the ones who were
[20:24]throwing themselves at me that I couldn't help it you you're the
[20:29]one who made me good looking so what is Allah going to
[20:32]say Allah is going to say bring you bring use of a
[20:39]Sadiq and when Yusuf the great prophet of God is brought forward
[20:48]who's better looking you or Yusuf he will say Yusuf is more
[20:57]attractive we made him handsome but he another he never allowed his
[21:05]good looks to take him towards sin my dear brothers when you
[21:15]look at the 50 requirements for male covering of course it's nothing
[21:19]like what is required of women the female covering is much more
[21:27]extensive than the male covering up the Sharia requires women to cover
[21:31]more than men why well we're different however I want to bring
[21:40]your attention to the following point just because something is technically Halal
[21:44]it doesn't mean that you should do it so for example yes
[21:51]from perspective it's not how long for you to wear tank tops
[21:54]or shorts when you go outside but I think as brothers we
[22:02]have to hold ourselves to a higher level higher standard of modesty
[22:07]even Beyond with the Sharia I might require of us because sometimes
[22:12]when you look at a sister who's fully covered and then her
[22:15]husband is standing right next to her with his tank top and
[22:19]his shorts I think as brothers we have to make an effort
[22:24]to dress a little bit more modesty as an expression of solidarity
[22:29]with our sisters because it's very difficult to cover in this type
[22:36]of culture it's very difficult to wear hijab so maybe as men
[22:40]yes technically it's Halal for us to wear shorts but maybe let's
[22:44]be a little bit more modest to show our sisters that you
[22:50]know what we're in this together we both have a responsibility to
[22:56]bring back hayat to the culture so I'll keep my shorts for
[23:00]my wife I'll wear my tank tops around my wife but I'll
[23:03]be a little bit more conservative when I leave the house because
[23:07]I think that if you look at the men of yes it
[23:11]might technically be Halal for you to show a little bit more
[23:15]skin as a man but I think foreign they don't only want
[23:24]us to do the bare minimum I think they want us to
[23:30]excel in these virtues this is number three number four is that
[23:35]a high value man is a man who is generous generous and
[23:42]humble one of the worst qualities of a man is to be
[23:46]stingy so Brothers if you're ever with your wife or you want
[23:50]to take your family out don't be the coupon guy right now
[23:53]I'm not saying that you shouldn't be you know Frugal but be
[23:58]generous have a generous spirit there's a narration from Imam Assad where
[24:10]he speaks about Ibrahim the great prophet of Gods and his generous
[24:18]spirits Imam Assad that says was a type of man who always
[24:29]enjoyed hosting guests his door was always open he was a generous
[24:32]person he never wanted to break bread by himself even if he
[24:37]would go and find he would go out even to find a
[24:41]passing by stranger to join him for a meal one day the
[24:44]narration says that there was no one near his house to join
[24:50]him for a meal so he went out to go look for
[24:54]a guest to invite to his home the narration says that he
[25:01]comes back he's not able to find anyone imagine he actually leaves
[25:04]his house with the intention of searching for someone that he can
[25:08]invite to his house so they could be a guest in the
[25:12]house of Ibrahim the Hadith says he comes back he's not able
[25:15]to find anybody and he finds someone coming out of his house
[25:21]so the Hadith says that Ibrahim sees a strange man coming out
[25:26]of his house and he says with whose permission did you enter
[25:37]this house this is my house who gave your permission the man
[25:42]said I entered it with the permission of its real owner he
[25:47]asked again the man repeated I entered it with the permission of
[25:52]its real owner and Ibrahim realized that this is jibrail in human
[25:59]form the Hadith says that Ibrahim thanked Allah that Jabra Eid that
[26:06]he made an effort to go find the guess and Allah to
[26:10]be his guest says Ibrahim says what have you come for a
[26:25]Brahim says to Ibrahim that Allah has sent me to choose a
[26:33]person from among his servants to be his intimate friend to be
[26:40]his Khalil look at the humility of Ibrahim Ibrahim doesn't assume that
[26:46]it's him he is so humble that he says take me to
[26:50]Allah so I can be his servant a high value man is
[27:00]not narcissistic a high value man doesn't go around and say I'm
[27:03]a high value man a high value man is modest a high
[27:07]value man doesn't worship himself if you look at the the greatest
[27:13]man that Allah created if you want to see who is the
[27:18]greatest of men who has the most value among men it's rasulullah
[27:20]ever go around saying that I am a high value man I'm
[27:26]the best on the contrary the favorite title of rasulullah was Abdullah
[27:31]servant of God so a high value man is a man of
[27:40]humility a man of generosity speaking of generosity there's a narration from
[27:45]rasulullah he says the prophet says if a man goes to the
[28:08]marketplace and he purchases a gift for his family it doesn't need
[28:11]to be the most expensive thing in the world just a gift
[28:15]a token of appreciation an expression of love a man goes to
[28:20]the marketplace and purchases a gift for his family the prophet says
[28:29]Allah gives such a man the reward of someone who distributes food
[28:35]to a village of poor people just to go home and bring
[28:41]a gift to your family the prophet says and when you come
[28:50]to your family with that gift when you distribute the gifts begin
[28:56]with the women folk of your family give the first gifts to
[29:01]the women because it makes them feel loved it makes them feel
[29:04]appreciated it brings sukoon to them when they feel that you prioritize
[29:10]them you prioritize their feelings [Music] the prophet says verily any man
[29:17]who brings Joy to the women folk of his family your wife
[29:24]your daughter your sister your mother whoever it may be foreign it's
[29:33]as if you have done something so great in the eyes of
[29:38]Allah it's as though you have freed a slave from the progeny
[29:40]of Ismael a high value man has this generous spirit a high
[29:48]value man sees his family as the pathway to Allah that he
[29:53]knows that if I treat them well they will intercede for me
[29:56]on the day of judgment my wife will stand on the day
[30:01]of qiyama and say that this was an honorable man my children
[30:04]will pray for me that this was a generous man and a
[30:08]man of integrity be the type of man that when you pray
[30:15]in your house your family wants to pray behind you because they
[30:18]see you as a just man a man because one of the
[30:21]conditions of Imam is to be righteous so if you are a
[30:28]high value man your family should feel comfortable praying behind you because
[30:32]you have these Noble qualities number five a high value man is
[30:38]financially responsible in Islam Islam never places the burden of finances on
[30:48]a woman unfortunately we live we live in a world today where
[30:51]many women women they have to work out of necessity to provide
[30:56]for themselves because many men failed them in their lives they have
[30:59]to they have to defend for themselves if this was actually an
[31:05]Islamic government and we were actually implementing Islamic values a woman who
[31:08]does not have the male Guardian she would be assigned a stipend
[31:15]from betul Mal so she doesn't have to work but unfortunately when
[31:20]there are very few high-value men women have to pick up the
[31:28]slack they have to carry that financial burden we as men we
[31:32]have this responsibility and therefore from a young age you should start
[31:35]thinking about how are you going to provide for your future wife
[31:38]for your kids you need to think when you become valid instead
[31:44]of spending hours and hours on video games and wasting your time
[31:48]in shisha cafes you need to think deeply about this responsibility that
[31:53]you're going to take on in your life Allah in the Quran
[31:57]says men are the caretakers the maintainers the Guardians of women and
[32:05]what that means is you have a lot of responsibilities the reason
[32:09]why the man is the head of the household is because he
[32:13]has the most responsibility it's not just this blanket blank check that
[32:18]Allah gave you that you could just do whatever you want you
[32:21]have the most Authority in your family because you have the most
[32:25]responsibility in your family but unfortunately there are some they don't want
[32:31]to take any of the responsibility they want the perks of authority
[32:35]without shouldering the responsibility it doesn't work like that a high value
[32:42]man is a man who works hard who's not looking for handouts
[32:47]who's not looking for okay where's the application that I can fill
[32:49]out so I can get help from the government when you don't
[32:52]need it if you're able-bodied go and work don't take government Aid
[32:57]if you don't need government Aid this is Haram money you're taking
[33:01]someone else's share that might actually need it be a hard worker
[33:04]don't think that there's any job that's beneath you it's better to
[33:10]mop floors and earn a Halal living than to take handouts the
[33:18]prophet always emphasize The Importance of Being a hard worker there was
[33:22]a man who came to the prophet and the prophet greeted him
[33:26]the prophet shook his hand and the prophet felt blisters on the
[33:31]hands of this man the prophet asked him why are your hands
[33:37]torn up why are your hands covered in blisters he says I'm
[33:41]a Lumberjack I work with my hands to provide for my family
[33:45]do you know what the prophet does the Hadith says that the
[33:54]prophet took his hands and rasulullah kissed his hands imagine rasulullah kissing
[34:02]the hands of this man and you know what the prophet says
[34:06]foreign these hands will never touch the fire of hell if you
[34:17]spend your life providing for your family you are performing the greatest
[34:22]the greatest worship for a man is to do this this is
[34:27]how you provide Sakina to your family this is what gives you
[34:32]a sense of worth this is what makes you feel fulfilled now
[34:35]of course we have to keep in mind my dear brothers and
[34:40]sisters that yes risk is in the hands of Allah you might
[34:43]not be able to get rich Allah is not not going to
[34:48]hold you accountable if you're not rich if you don't make a
[34:51]lot of money but he will hold you accountable if you're lazy
[34:55]you don't need to be rich but you're not you're not allowed
[35:00]to be lazy a high value man takes this very seriously number
[35:07]six if Allah grants you wealth let's say you work hard and
[35:13]Allah grants you well a high value man does not flaunt his
[35:18]wealth in front of people today coaches go on social media there
[35:26]are people their entire lives are dedicated to what showing off what
[35:31]I have flaunting my wealth look at my supercars look at where
[35:34]I live look at my watch look at my shoes flaunting being
[35:38]ostentatious there's a quranic story about a man who used to flaunt
[35:47]his wealth and many of these people rarely will they say that
[35:51]this is from Allah's Grace they think that they're Geniuses that I
[36:00]I earned this because I'm a business Guru in the Quran this
[36:06]karun was one of the Israelites during the time of Musa Allah
[36:12]says he had so much wealth that it took a gang of
[36:30]men a group of men just to carry the keys to the
[36:36]storages of his wealth he was obscenely wealthy what did he do
[36:42]with his wealth did you say alhamdulillah let me use my wealth
[36:44]to uplift people because I think it's very cruel actually to flaunt
[36:50]your wealth in a day and age where children are dying of
[36:55]hunger if Allah gave you out if you're driving a Ferrari it's
[36:57]okay keep it in your garage drive it away you don't need
[37:01]to share it with the world that you have a Ferrari keep
[37:02]it to yourself the world doesn't need to know don't flaunt your
[37:10]wealth because there are single moms who are trying to pay their
[37:13]bills and you're flaunting your wealth acting like you're a big shot
[37:16]what does Allah say about karun ostentatious arrogant man he was all
[37:26]decked out his best horse which is which would be his best
[37:30]vehicle covered in jewels flaunting his wealth those who are Dunya inclined
[37:42]they looked at Power and they said oh we wish we had
[37:43]what he had isn't that what people do on social media they
[37:47]scroll wow I wish I had that house I wish I had
[37:52]that car but what does Allah say s we made the Earth
[38:01]swallow him and his home we took it all away because he
[38:07]thought that he was rich because of his own intelligence and instead
[38:11]of using his wealth to lift up others he was using his
[38:16]wealth to make people feel small a high value man does not
[38:19]flaunt his wealth a high value man is low-key if you have
[38:23]wealth enjoy your wealth but don't flaunt it number seven a high
[38:32]value man controls his emotions a high value man is not impulsive
[38:36]Unfortunately today people don't have self-control a high value man controls his
[38:47]anger doesn't lash out doesn't take out his anger and his frustration
[38:51]on the most vulnerable people his wife his poor wife and his
[38:55]kids when he's with other men he's a mouse when he when
[38:57]he when he's when he's with his wife and his children all
[39:01]of a sudden he's a lion to control your emotions control your
[39:06]anger so Allah will control his anger when you defy him control
[39:14]restrain yourself number eight a high value man sees himself as the
[39:26]spiritual and moral leader of his family and he takes that very
[39:33]seriously and in order to uplift your family and guard them from
[39:36]spiritual harm you have to have knowledge just as we spoke about
[39:40]the necessity of knowledge for our sisters I think that it is
[39:45]even more emphasized for the brothers because you're the head of the
[39:51]household and therefore in the same way that you seek Financial advice
[39:54]you need to speak seek spiritual advice a high value man seeks
[40:01]the presence of and spiritual mentors because he knows that he hasn't
[40:06]he has an obligation to take care of his family and part
[40:11]of taking care of your family is to guard them from the
[40:14]things that will destroy their spirituality he once said to his son
[40:24]or my son seek the company of the scholars foreign let your
[40:34]knees touch their knees be that close to Allama foreign just as
[40:52]he revives the Earth through rain sometimes you feel like your heart
[40:59]is dead you feel like a robot just working Monday through Friday
[41:02]seek out those spaces that will revive your hearts because your family
[41:09]feeds off of your energy if you are spiritually dead that's going
[41:12]to have a negative impact on your family you need to increase
[41:16]your spirituality so you can also Elevate the spirituality of your family
[41:21]number nine a high value man has good hygiene this is very
[41:29]important prioritizes self-care just as you want your wife to look beautiful
[41:33]you want your wife to look like a supermodel but you look
[41:37]like a homeless guy you have to have good hygiene you can't
[41:42]have rice in your beard and lettuce in your teeth and you
[41:47]don't put deodorant on your wife also wants to be married to
[41:49]someone who looks good who takes care of himself we have a
[41:54]Hadith that tell us that the prophet used to put so much
[41:59]emphasis on dental hygiene even children used to remember their encounters with
[42:06]the prophet when the prophet would smile they would remember the smile
[42:12]of rasulullah they would recall his beautiful smile and they say that
[42:18]his teeth were like perfectly arranged pearls this is the prophet rasulullah
[42:27]used to spend more on fragrances than on food we all know
[42:36]Hadith what does Imam al-hasan and Imam what do they say when
[42:38]they come to home to their mother father they say ya ummah
[42:43]in the edge or our mother they haven't seen the prophet they
[42:52]say we smell a very pleasant fragrance it is as if it
[42:59]is the fragrance of our grandfather rasulullah it's important for us to
[43:10]take care of our physical bodies your physical body is an Amana
[43:13]you need to exercise you need to eat healthy because if your
[43:18]physical health starts to deteriorate it will be difficult even for you
[43:24]to do Amman to engage in worship keep your bodies healthy stay
[43:31]hydrated eat healthy get enough sleep go for walks take care of
[43:38]yourself this is the Sunnah of the Muslim and finally number 10
[43:44]a high value man is selective when it comes to the women
[43:50]he chooses in his life he's selective about his spouse you're not
[43:56]a high value man if you throw yourself at any woman who
[44:00]gives you attention unfortunately we live in a time where there are
[44:05]some guys if the girl just says salaam to him he thinks
[44:09]that she's proposing to him I think that she's interested how do
[44:14]you believe me she's not interested she's just saying salaam she I
[44:17]don't even think she was saying salaam too she was saying Salam
[44:19]to the guy who's behind you the point is a high value
[44:26]man is not someone who just throws himself at any woman it
[44:31]doesn't matter a high value man has standards when in high value
[44:35]man wants to court a young lady he's not just looking at
[44:39]her physical Beauty because I tell you no matter how beautiful you
[44:43]are your beauty is going to faint your physical Beauty will fade
[44:46]even if you are married to a supermodel you're going to get
[44:51]used to her beauty you're gonna get used to it it's going
[44:52]to be ordinary to you give it a few years right now
[44:58]you're you're bewildered you're Enchanted by her beauty wait until you start
[45:03]to have a few problems in your relationship s but you know
[45:09]what doesn't fade spirituality and subhanallah that beauty actually grows so a
[45:23]high value man is not just looking for a pretty face a
[45:27]high value man is looking for someone who's going to be the
[45:31]mother of his children that's a high value to be selective don't
[45:36]be desperate any woman who gives you attention you throw yourself and
[45:41]you sell your dean and your just for that woman have standards
[45:44]and the prophet gave us the standards physical attraction is important but
[45:50]make sure that there's Dean make sure that there's and I don't
[45:55]mean to someone who wears hijab and praise someone who truly wants
[45:58]to live a god-conscious life this is what it means to be
[46:04]a high value man there's more but these are some of the
[46:05]qualities that I think we need to develop as men alhamdulillah we
[46:12]the followers we have no shortage of high value men today you
[46:18]have youth who look at this person this you know social media
[46:23]personality and that social media personality as their Idols as Paragons of
[46:29]masculinity because they they don't know better they don't have the role
[46:33]models that we have we have the best role models we have
[46:40]Role Models like Imam al-hasan Imam these are the true men not
[46:47]some internet personality who's desperate for attention on this night we commemorate
[46:56]one of the high value men of the aloobits you might know
[47:08]him as the ambassador of Imam Hussain but before that he was
[47:14]raised in the house of Imam he was a high value man
[47:23]because he was under the care of the master of all men
[47:26]the man of all men the commander of the faithful he raised
[47:32]him as his own son and Imam Hussain yes they were cousins
[47:40]but they grew up together and they were like brothers was very
[47:47]difficult for Imam and Hussein to farewell Muslim he saw him as
[47:54]his own flesh and blood when Imam and Hussein was in Mecca
[47:57]and he was receiving thousands of letters from the people of kufa
[48:03]Imam and Hussein was a man of wisdom he knows that these
[48:06]people have a track record of betrayal they betrayed my father and
[48:10]my brother I have to verify their intentions and I need to
[48:16]send someone for this job for this important task of evaluating and
[48:20]assessing the hearts of the people so what is Imam and Hussein
[48:28]do he summons Muslim he calls upon him before he dispatches he
[48:38]writes a letter to the people of kufa that he sends with
[48:42]Muslim do you know what he says in the letter addressing the
[48:48]people of kufa he says o people of kufa bathroom I am
[48:55]sending to you my brother I'm sending to you my brother my
[49:06]cousin I am sending to you the trustworthy one from my family
[49:18]he farewells Imam Hussain and I think deep in their hearts they
[49:27]knew that this was the farewell was hugging Imam Hussain you could
[49:36]almost sense that they knew that the next time they will see
[49:41]each other is in Jannah Muslim he goes he goes to kufa
[49:47]he arrives there are throngs of people who receive him chanting slogans
[49:55]of support he meets with some of the senior leadership in kufa
[50:01]things are looking very positive foreign has sent his cousin to kufa
[50:12]and he's rallying people and they might start a rebellion yazid he
[50:17]realizes that something has to be done we have to crush this
[50:25]Rebellion he sends an executive order he says now you have to
[50:31]leave Basra and go and take control of the situation in kufa
[50:34]he goes he arrives in kufa and he begins arresting anyone who
[50:40]supports or gives Refuge to Muslims ten thousand people are executed thousands
[50:49]are thrown in prison the narrations say that when Muslim was leading
[50:58]for those of you who went for ziara you saw how big
[51:05]that Masjid was that Masjid was full of people praying behind Muslim
[51:11]he finishes half of the people have left there are only tens
[51:21]of people left he gets to the gates of the Masjid and
[51:23]he is now all alone in kufa it's very easy to say
[51:28]that you're with Imam Hussain but when push comes to Shah and
[51:33]it's a matter of life and death the mother comes to her
[51:35]son and takes him the wife comes to her husband and says
[51:40]come what am I going to do you're going to leave me
[51:45]as with orphans everyone abandons Muslims Muslim now is roaming all by
[51:53]himself through the Alleyways of kufa Muslim now wants to go back
[51:55]he wants to go back to Imam and Hussein but Muslim he
[52:01]grew up in Medina he's not familiar with kufa he's not familiar
[52:08]with the paths he knows that there's a bounty on his head
[52:12]he's walking in the alleyways he's tired he's thirsty and he sits
[52:22]down outside of the steps of a house a woman comes out
[52:29]and she says to him what do you need and he says
[52:37]he says Oh Lady I'm thirsty can you get me some water
[52:42]this woman her name was she was one of the women of
[52:46]kufa she goes back into her home she brings water can you
[52:51]imagine how difficult it was for Muslim to ask a woman for
[52:56]water a strange woman for water the daughter of she takes her
[53:00]mother to the side and she says o my mother who is
[53:06]this man she says I don't know she says to her mother
[53:10]that when you went inside to get water he started to cry
[53:13]she says the mother says I went though I goes to Muslim
[53:18]she says to him oh man I live by myself and I
[53:26]am uncomfortable having a strange man sit at my door she says
[53:30]to him why don't you go back to your family why don't
[53:35]you go to your wife why don't you go to your children
[53:40]your tribe he looks at her and he says Allah he says
[53:53]to her I do not have any family in this city I
[53:59]do not have any tribe in this city she says to him
[54:06]who are you why don't you have any family here he says
[54:11][Music] he says the people of kuffa have betrayed me I am
[54:21]the ambassador of ABBA Abdullah she says you are the ambassador of
[54:29]Imam Al Hussain she says come in come in come into my
[54:31]house she gives him Refuge she says is there anything that I
[54:37]can give you she gives him a small room in her house
[54:40]he says to her I just want you to give me a
[54:40]bowl of water so I can do will do and do my
[54:46]prayers he stays in that room praying thinking about what he should
[54:52]do next her son had heard that there's a bounty on a
[54:57]man by the name of Muslim he sees his mother behaving strangely
[55:01]straight away he discovers that Muslim is inside of his own home
[55:06]out of desire to get a reward from IBN Ziad he goes
[55:10]and tells IBN Ziad that the man that you're looking for is
[55:15]in my house IBN Ziad he dispatches 300 soldiers to capture Muslim
[55:22]they say to him he is only one man why are you
[55:30]sending 300.
[55:31]he says this is a man that was raised we need as
[55:37]many men as possible he comes out of the house he tries
[55:45]to fight against them but how much can a man resist against
[55:48]300.
[55:50]they eventually apprehend him they arrest him and they take him to
[55:54]the Palace of IBN ziyadh he is in shackles and in Chains
[56:00]they tie him in Rome he's standing in front of IBN Ziad
[56:02]and they say to him you must address your foreign they say
[56:18]to him that we're going to execute you for trying to start
[56:22]a rebellion Muslim he says listen do you allow me to give
[56:28]my final wasiya can I give you my final Testament they said
[56:31]go ahead but we are going to execute you he says number
[56:37]one I have a debt to repay I want you to sell
[56:39]my sword and my saddle to repay my debt they say we'll
[56:42]take care of this for you he says number two and this
[56:47]is very tragic that someone like Muslim has to ask this he
[56:52]says my second request is that you give me a proper Islamic
[56:57]burial I want you to give me an Islamic burial they say
[57:01]we're not going to give you an Islamic barrier you're not a
[57:06]Muslim you're an apostate you're a rebel you're a renegade he looks
[57:10]and he says I have one final request they say what is
[57:16]your final request he says I beg you please send word to
[57:22]Imam and her saying not to come to kufa they say we
[57:25]will only Grant your first request and we will deny your second
[57:28]then the Third he asked for some water the narrations say they
[57:35]give him a cup of water but his lip was wounded and
[57:37]there was a drop of blood that fell into that cup and
[57:41]he throws the water and Muslim in his heart he probably thought
[57:45]that it is destined for me to meet my Lord just like
[57:53]this they take him to the rooftop of the palace they take
[58:01]him to the Rooftop the executioners are preparing to slaughter him they
[58:09]sharpen their swords says before you cut off my head give me
[58:13]the opportunity to pray to my Lord they say we'll give you
[58:19]a few minutes he stands for he offers a final tour a
[58:26]prayer when he finishes his Salah the executioners say that it seems
[58:31]that you prolonged your Salah are you trying to prolong your life
[58:34]are you afraid of death he says I swear by Allah this
[58:40]was the briefest too prayer that I have offered as he stands
[58:45]they're about to cut off his head uh right before they cut
[58:52]off his head the last thing that came out of his mouth
[58:55]was what he turned towards Mecca and he said turn back do
[59:18]not come to kufa because the people of kufab betrayed us and
[59:24]they suffered that of Muslim they threw his body from the top
[59:30]of the palace they threw is that from the top of the
[59:34]palace they took the body of Muslim and they dragged his body
[59:41]through the city yet uh yeah who says yeah Hussein outside
