[0:01]foreign in our last lesson we shed light on the word in
[0:58]the first verse when Allah says he is Allah he is one
[1:09]we mentioned that uh the word I had here refers to the
[1:20]two types of meaning that Allah has absolutely no matches and no
[1:30]likes in existence and at the same time Allah is not composed
[1:34]of any parts he is not composed of any uh components and
[1:41]is indivisible foreign we also promised that in the future inshallah in
[1:48]the near future inshallah we're going to shed more light on this
[1:51]issue of him being indivisible we also presented a few logical proofs
[1:59]confirming both types of tawheed confirming and finally we presented a few
[2:16]more words that were mentioned by some of assyrin specifically the last
[2:30]point we stopped at was the word of say that about when
[2:35]he was explaining the meaning of Ahad so we'll continue from there
[2:43]insha Allah we mentioned that he said Ahad is one who has
[2:54]no matches and no likes in the outer world and cannot have
[2:57]any likes even in the world of imagination or the world of
[3:02]the intellect what does that mean it means that if someone has
[3:08]a basic understanding of the necessary being a basic understanding of God
[3:14]then he will know by using his intellect that there cannot be
[3:23]multiple gods there could only be one God he cannot imagine multiple
[3:32]gods he can only uh you know understand that there is one
[3:39]God in existence ask for believing in multiple gods although some people
[3:47]are polytheists and do hold that belief this belief is actually uh
[3:55]a result of a misconception or a misunderstanding and has no proof
[4:03]to support it there's absolutely no proof no proof confirming the presence
[4:10]of two or more gods there's only proof confirming the existence of
[4:15]one God in fact there are proofs negating the presence of more
[4:25]than one God we mentioned the word of said last week and
[4:32]today we're going to mention a word that mentioned in measurement regarding
[4:40]regarding the word Ahad when Allah says and then finally will go
[4:48]into the narration that I promised you the narration of Imam Muhammad
[4:53]on this regard several uh opinions regarding the meaning of Ahad and
[5:08]that is one of his Styles when you read you realize that
[5:17]well present different opinions regarding the verses of Al-Quran as in he'll
[5:27]present what several interpreters said in regards to one specific verse on
[5:36]top of that he will mention what said in many cases he'll
[5:43]tell you so and so he'll mention the words of Albert and
[5:52]sometimes he himself will give you his interpretation of the verse when
[6:02]he gives his interpretation you realize that the man is very precise
[6:06]very precise and his interpretations are very nice at the same time
[6:12]he is very precise in the Arabic terms usually before he goes
[6:22]into the meaning of the verses he presents uh literal meanings for
[6:27]the worst the the words that are used in those verses and
[6:34]then he explains you know what is the meaning of for example
[6:38]let's say the word shajara what is the meaning of in Arabic
[6:44]and if there are multiple meanings for the word he also presents
[6:48]that so he's very experienced in Arabic thus um if you read
[6:57]the these parts of his tafsir where he explains the Arabic terms
[7:02]you will gain a lot of knowledge in regards to Arabic vocabulary
[7:09]when he explains the word Ahad he says the following let me
[7:16]send you the passage and we'll explain it inshallah yeah foreign which
[7:50]is translated to one in English he says someone some interpreter said
[7:59]that Ahad here refers to several types of unity the first is
[8:08]unity in actions that all of Allah's actions are one how are
[8:13]they one meaning they're similar because the actions of Allah which are
[8:21]in reality creations of his the actions of Allah are forms of
[8:27]isan favors and forms or say manifestations of goodness that Allah presents
[8:35]and bestows upon his creations he does not do what he does
[8:42]for the sake of receiving benefit or for the sake of repelling
[8:50]harm away from himself which is true Allah is so powerful and
[8:58]independent that nothing absolutely nothing benefits him he does not need benefit
[9:07]from anyone at the same time no one can harm him so
[9:11]even if we disbelieve in Allah day and night and say the
[9:17]worst words about God Allah will not be harmed yes he won't
[9:21]be harmed even if everyone disbelieves he or he won't be harmed
[9:26]yes he does not need anyone's worship so why does he command
[9:29]us to worship Him and why does he threaten us telling us
[9:34]that if we don't worship him we will enter Hellfire for us
[9:39]for our own benefit because Allah azzawajal is a caring Lord and
[9:45]a kind Lord he pushes you without actually forcing you he pushes
[9:53]you towards his obedience and away from his Disobedience so you and
[10:02]I can benefit as for he he does not benefit he does
[10:08]not need anyone or anything he is the one who is an
[10:14]needy and completely independent so his wife all of his actions are
[10:22]one in the sense that they're similar none of his actions are
[10:26]done for the sake of attaining benefit or pushing away harm from
[10:31]himself and he says this interpreter is saying that this is a
[10:52]unique trait in Allah a trait that you don't find in anyone
[10:56]other than Allah because the rest of the beings meaning Allah's Creations
[11:07]they do what they do for the sake of attaining benefit or
[11:12]pushing away harm from themselves this is what The Interpreter is saying
[11:18]right this is what The Interpreter is saying now I'd like to
[11:26]comment on this point specifically had he said that Allah is the
[11:36]only being who is completely independent and does not need anyone it
[11:42]would have been better his words would have been more precise why
[11:48]because you might find a creation of God a being who does
[12:01]what he does not for the sake of attaining benefit not for
[12:07]the sake of receiving benefit or repelling harm away from himself let
[12:14]me give you an example when they worship Allah they worship God
[12:22]out of fear of entering Hellfire no for the sake of entering
[12:31]Heaven no do they love Heaven of course do they want Heaven
[12:37]yes do they want to be saved from Hellfire obviously that's a
[12:41]given the Quran about in suratul insane so they they do fear
[13:02]Allah's punishments and they do desire his rewards who wouldn't but they
[13:05]don't worship him for that reason they worship him for him subhanahu
[13:13]wa ta'ala because they love him so their worship was the worship
[13:17]of who the worship of the free men as they said Ali
[13:19]him those who worship Allah out of fear their worship is the
[13:26]worship of the businessman sorry um the slaves and those who worship
[13:37]Allah out of greed their worship is the worship of the businessman
[13:42]and those who worship Allah out of love in and in a
[13:50]second narration out of shukur out of thankfulness their worship is the
[13:54]worship of the free this is why I'm saying it's possible at
[14:01]least theoretically right to find a creation who does a specific deed
[14:10]um not for the sake of attaining benefit nor for the sake
[14:17]of repelling harm away from himself although those two issues attaining benefit
[14:25]and pushing away the harm are a natural natural result of what
[14:33]of worshiping Allah subhanahu so had this sir said that Allah is
[14:41]the only being who's completely independent his um his words would have
[14:48]been more precise nonetheless I think it's quite obvious that it's safe
[14:58]to say most Creations do what they do for the sake of
[15:04]attaining benefit and or pushing away harm from themselves is completely independent
[15:15]as great as they are although they are independent of God's creations
[15:24]from certain perspectives certain perspectives they're still dependent on what on Allah
[15:31]they need Allah to exist and to have everything they have everything
[15:37]they have all their Excellence knowledge virtues all of that is from
[15:43]Allah if Allah takes it away from them they will not have
[15:51]it Allah will never do that but they need Allah ask for
[15:57]Allah he does not need anyone even then Allah made dependent on
[16:05]what certain Creations when when they were in this world to show
[16:10]us that they're creations of God so for example example the infallible
[16:14]Imam or asaida Zara they would need food right they need food
[16:23]they need food they would eat they would need to be nourished
[16:29]they would need drinks sometimes they would ask help from people Imam
[16:34]Hassan on the day of Ashura would call out for help for
[16:40]example is there anyone who will defend us Allah would put a
[16:48]handlebay through these you know States so that he reminds us that
[16:56]they're creations of God because as we said once and we'll say
[16:58]it again did not eat nor drink nor sleep they did not
[17:10]you know um get sick for example people would have said these
[17:15]are God these people are God but they're not God they are
[17:19]habirullah the slaves of Allah and his closest servants so this is
[17:27]the first word that is regarding the um the passage we just
[17:37]read then he says again he's narrating the word of an interpreter
[17:45]he says is also one from a worship perspective and then no
[18:03]one deserves to be worshiped other than Allah this is completely correct
[18:09]no one deserves worship other than Allah says he says that Allah
[18:37]is the only one who deserves to be worshiped because he's the
[18:41]only one who has the ability to provide his creations they are
[18:52]the bases of His blessings meaning very important and crucial blessings that
[19:01]a person needs in order to um benefit in order to benefit
[19:12]from other blessings or in order to enjoy other blessings an example
[19:17]of these bases of blessings are hayat life having power having the
[19:25]ability to do or not do is having desire Etc so he's
[19:31]the only one who has the ability to give you these these
[19:38]blessings which are the bases of other blessings he says no one
[19:49]else has the power to give you these blessings which is true
[19:54]as in no one has the independent power to give you these
[20:01]blessings other than Allah but if Allah wants if Allah wants he
[20:11]can give some of his Creations what he can give some of
[20:14]his Creations the power to Grant other creations these blessings here that
[20:23]creation of God is giving that blessing with Allah's permission so without
[20:31]Allah's permission he can't do anything hence we can say only Allah
[20:37]has the power to give you those blessings meaning only Allah has
[20:41]the independent power to do so a clear example on this regard
[20:49]Islam revive the dead right with Allah's permission he also would use
[21:02]clay and would make the shape of a flying animal one narration
[21:07]says it was the shape of a bat and he would blow
[21:13]in it and then the that clay would actually turn into a
[21:17]living bat so he would give life to Clay but with whose
[21:23]permission with Allah's permission without Allah wouldn't have been able to do
[21:31]so then he says uh is one in regards to what to
[21:42]his actions his actions are one he's one in regards to worship
[21:45]as in he is the only one who deserves to be worshiped
[21:50]and he's one in regards to giving us meaning he's the only
[21:59]one who's able to give those bases of blessings give the basis
[22:03]of blessings which are blessings themselves you have a question no should
[22:24]I say no all right now we come to the narration of
[22:35]Imam let me copy it and send it to you this narration
[22:51]is found in the book at tahid for saluk so it's a
[23:07]narration that goes back to Imam sadak says that his father Muhammad
[23:15]al-balkar said what you're about to hear as he explained the verse
[23:32]foreign color cool Allah said say now he explains what does say
[23:47]mean I often a lake or Muhammad reveal what we revealed to
[23:54]you like so it doesn't reveal what we've revealed to you and
[24:08]what we've informed you by connecting the letters that we've descended upon
[24:15]you meaning have brought down the verse and I've worded the verse
[24:27]in a specific way and I want you to convey it in
[24:32]the same manner so attach each of the letters that I've descended
[24:36]upon you the same way I've attached them to each other so
[24:42]in other terms convey what has been brought down upon you without
[24:50]any change without any alteration and the prophet will do so Allah
[24:54]he would deliver Allah's word as it is without any changes foreign
[25:09]and connecting the letters that we've read to you that we've descended
[25:16]upon you Leah why should he read what Allah brought down upon
[25:27]him he tells him he says so that those who listen to
[25:37]you with attentiveness those who listen to you with Focus maybe guided
[25:42]so that those who listen to you as their they focus on
[25:48]what you say maybe guided ultimately one of rasulullah's rules Humanity then
[25:57]the Imam goes to the second word Hua so he says foreign
[26:12]foreign of course I'm gonna exert all effort to translate this narration
[26:33]in the best of manners um usually when we Translate narrations it's
[26:40]normal to lose some meanings but most importantly I will not insha
[26:47]Allah convey any incorrect meanings and I'll try my best to convey
[26:53]all the meanings that the Imam presents in this Hadith nonetheless here
[27:01]the Imam says that the word Hua points to a being that
[27:08]is meaning a being that is hidden hidden or you can say
[27:18]absent is absent Allah is Not absent Allah is with us wherever
[27:21]you are Allah is with you yes wherever you are he's with
[27:28]you because he knows everything about you and about the things that
[27:33]are around you wherever you are he sees you and hears you
[27:36]wherever you are he has power over you you are lying within
[27:43]his Dominion subhanahu wa ta'ala and you can never Escape his Dominion
[27:46]thus wherever you are Allah is with you although he's not physically
[27:49]with you because he's not physical foreign so yes he's with you
[27:58]in the sense that we just explained but at the same time
[28:06]he's absent in what sense he's physically absent right is Allah physically
[28:11]here no he's not physically here because he's not physical he is
[28:16]not made made up of matters so the Imam says that the
[28:22]word Hua points points to a being Allah who is hidden whose
[28:28]absent how is he absent he cannot be felt by your senses
[28:38]you cannot smell Allah or see Allah physically or taste him or
[28:45]touch him or hear Allah's essence you can see and or taste
[28:53]or here or feel touch or smell his Creations which are signs
[29:06]of his you can feel with one of the five senses the
[29:11]creations of God but she cannot feel with any of your senses
[29:15]the five senses and so from that perspective he's absent or say
[29:27]he's hidden Imam says habit here Imam al-bakar divides the word Hua
[29:35]into two and he tells you the ha points to a reality
[29:40]and the Wow points to a different reality tell me who can
[29:46]do that sir can actually come and present such a meaning to
[29:55]you and at the same time be right in what he says
[29:58]other than who has the audacity to say to say this right
[30:07]without being called a liar other than because they are the inheritors
[30:17]of the book they know the book inside out and so he
[30:22]says it confirms Allah's existence so by simply saying who we're confirming
[30:37]that Allah exists and the Wow points to the fact that Allah
[30:48]is absent meaning he cannot be felt with any of the five
[30:51]senses here one might say but didn't Musa alaihissalam here Allah didn't
[31:04]Musa hear Allah's voice yes he heard Allah he spoke to Allah
[31:11]and heard in fact based on our narrations even Banu Israel at
[31:18]least in some instances or at least one instance they also heard
[31:25]Allah's voice but what was that Allah does not literally have a
[31:34]voice as in he does not have a throat like me and
[31:35]you from which a voice stems no Allah created a voice for
[31:42]Musa so it was a creation of God but because Allah chose
[31:50]that this creation which was a sound or had a sound this
[31:58]creation I will use in order to address considered it the words
[32:08]of Allah doesn't have a physical voice he does not have a
[32:19]physical voice if we say if if you hear someone saying that
[32:21]Musa heard Allah's words right what is meant is that he worked
[32:36]he heard the created words of Allah earlier I think I said
[32:41]that he heard Allah's voice what I meant is that he heard
[32:47]the the words created by God subhanallah yeah so he says [Music]
[33:13]in another version of the same narration instead of using the word
[33:20]Shahid the narration says let me explain what the Imam saying he's
[33:26]saying you have two words in Arabic and Hatha Heather is what
[33:32]Hada is a ishara meaning it's a it's a word used to
[33:40]point to something close remember when we were learning about Adam Ali
[33:47]salaam and the story of the garden Allah told Adam what at
[33:52]the start of the story do not approach this tree by using
[33:59]hadihi we understand that the tree was close to Adam or Adam
[34:05]was close to the tree pointed to a specific tree telling him
[34:09]don't approach this tree yeah Adam so here the Imam says the
[34:20]word Hatha is used to point to something that you can feel
[34:28]with one of your five senses foreign s furthermore and he says
[34:51]that the disbelievers they pointed to their gods using what using the
[35:00]ism ishara they pointed to their gods and so they were confirming
[35:04]that their gods can be felt their gods for example can be
[35:12]seen with the physical eyes their gods can be felt with your
[35:16]hands and so he said he said these are our Gods they're
[35:24]over here they're close to us look you can see them you
[35:29]can feel them their fault and they're also seen by our physical
[35:38]eyes by our let's say physical sight we can see them we
[35:51]want you to point to your God you're saying you have a
[35:57]god these are our Gods we want you to point to your
[35:59]God where is he we want to see him we want to
[36:04]feel him point to him point to your God the god to
[36:17]which you call so we may see him meaning we may physically
[36:22]see him and so we may reach him with our physical sights
[36:30]and so we may not remain in a state of confusion as
[36:35]we search for that God and so the response was what is
[36:48]and so Allah brought down foreign let me send you the next
[37:01]part of the tradition a and Jeff I have a question okay
[37:17]sorry so he says confirms Allah's existence and he says by using
[37:28]the word Imam is saying that Allah exists whether we know he
[37:36]exists or not whether we believe in him or not that will
[37:40]not affect his existence he is present subhanallah his existence is a
[37:45]must right but Allah confirms it once again by simply using that
[37:53]ha who is as for the wow the wow is used to
[38:02]point to the god whose absent in what sense foreign he's absent
[38:25]in the sense that the physical eyes cannot see him and he
[38:32]cannot be felt by the five senses then the Imam says he
[38:46]says that Allah is too exalted it's too high not in a
[38:59]physical sense it's too high to be seen by the physical eyes
[39:01]or to be felt by one of the five senses and he
[39:09]reminds us of this reality with the wow rather he is the
[39:18]one who sees the sights meaning he has full knowledge absolutely full
[39:27]knowledge of the eyes of his creations and their sights and he's
[39:34]the one who created the senses when there were no senses realize
[39:41]the word doesn't only notify us notifies that Allah created these senses
[39:53]that exist it also notifies us that he created them when there
[39:58]were absolutely no senses what does that imply it implies that Allah
[40:04]did not copy another creation did not copy for example did not
[40:16]make a second copy of a different creation he had created so
[40:24]what I'm trying to say is yes Allah does create different creations
[40:34]of the same kind for example you have millions and millions of
[40:42]humans that were created but at a certain point there was what
[40:46]the first human the first human created by Allah when Allah created
[40:52]him he did not learn how to create him from someone else
[40:58]yes sister did you have a question uh yes I do oh
[41:05]I I understand from today's lesson back in the days Prophet time
[41:14]they used to tell him this is our God we see him
[41:15]they point so they told the prophet and no where's your God
[41:21]are you to let them know and Allah exists not physically but
[41:31]he's around us at all times [Music] explains it in this tradition
[41:40]in this tradition he's saying in the the kuffar had asked rasulullah
[41:48]to show them his God and so this was the response okay
[41:52]so this is one of the reasons okay all right so now
[41:58]if we connect the Traditions together we'll understand that there were several
[42:03]reasons for The Descent of or at least for the Descent of
[42:09]some some of its verses one is the the word of the
[42:17]Jews when they said in siblana and one is the um the
[42:20]word of the kufar that I mentioned here in this tradition uh
[42:25]can you explain again when uh what the Jewish thank you no
[42:40]problem means what it means that Allah creates but he creates an
[42:49]let's call it an innovation in what sense creates something new that
[42:58]did not exist before it was created so sometimes Allah will create
[43:10]a creation that we've seen previously for example you have many trees
[43:19]many trees in existence right we've seen trees if Allah ta'ala creates
[43:24]a new tree all right uh this is a copy of a
[43:30]previous tree Allah had created as in it resembles a previous tree
[43:36]but then you have Creations that were created for the first time
[43:42]previously before their creation there were no copies of that creation there
[43:49]were no previous let's say plans or previous models of that creation
[43:55]and Allah still created those creations so how did he know how
[44:04]to create them how did he have the power to create them
[44:06]he's Allah he has and always had and always will have infinite
[44:13]power and infinite knowledge he is his power and he is his
[44:19]knowledge his knowledge is his power his power is his life Etc
[44:22]so the word badia and the word mobda here in this tradition
[44:28]Imam says is pointing to that reality which is Allah doesn't only
[44:40]create but he also creates things that did not exist previously although
[44:48]they did not exist previously he still knew uh he still knew
[44:58]um what traits he should give those creations and also knew how
[45:09]to create those Creations as in if he wanted to create the
[45:15]creation in a way it goes through different steps in order to
[45:20]become complete he knew without being taught what are the steps that
[45:25]should be taken to complete that being take the example of Adam's
[45:33]Body Adam's Body is which is the human body Allah always knew
[45:38]what are the steps needed to make that body essentially it came
[45:46]from clay so now if I take a bunch of a lump
[45:50]of clay will I have a body no Allah made modifications to
[45:58]that clay he mixed it with water for example and there was
[46:01]a whole process through which the body of Adam was made that
[46:08]Allah knew how to make the body obviously he did he always
[46:13]knew do you always know yes he did he had infinite he
[46:18]always had infinite knowledge subhanahu and thus he always knew how to
[46:25]create his creations make sense yes thank you all right I have
[46:39]a question yeah the word it comes from like it's attached to
[46:49]the war there could be a relationship maybe I'm not sure at
[46:54]the moment but um it's uh strongly connected to the word foreign
[47:03]okay it makes sense yeah you know when someone for example presents
[47:11]uh a new invention something that people had not invented before they
[47:17]say this isn't this is in ebitda or someone presents a lecture
[47:21]that people had not uh heard before with plenty of new information
[47:29]they say you know this is the speaker is right it's all
[47:37]alluding to that my son to him but we'll stop here for
[47:42]uh today uh we'll take a short break and then we'll go
[47:46]to the card class alhamdulillah
