It discusses how Islam is often misrepresented, especially in Western society, urging a deeper understanding of the Prophet's message. The speaker reflects on the Prophet’s role as a guide who reformed society through kindness and gradual change, rather than imposing abrupt transformations. His leadership is highlighted as one marked by compassion, particularly toward children, and generosity, while emphasizing that Islamic laws aim to liberate, not restrict. [0:16]alhamdulilla mam ald for [Music] [Music] Salam alaykum brothers sisters and respected
[1:50]Scholars I begin by giving my condolences to all of you and
[1:56]to the Imam of our time for the demise the anniversary of
[1:59]the demise of the holy prophet and the Shah IM Hassam and
[2:03]also on the eve of the shahat of IM I also give
[2:08]my condolence to all of you and the Imam of our time
[2:11]when we look at the stories of the holy prophet Sall alai
[2:16]and we look into his life unfortunately in today's day and age
[2:21]there's been a Corruption of that here living in Canada today sometimes
[2:27]we hear a different narrative about our holy prophet profit from that
[2:31]which we learn for unfortunately we are at a time where Islam
[2:37]is seen in different different ways it's very polarizing to the public
[2:42]today for the westerners that live here they see very different versions
[2:47]of Islam and they see very different versions of the life of
[2:52]the holy prophet s and it's very important that we understand his
[2:56]message for us to truly be able to share that and to
[3:01]share those who don't truly understand the holy prophet in the way
[3:05]that they can truly comprehend his life they can truly comprehend his
[3:10]character to understand that this holy prophet that came and he was
[3:13]sent to insan he was sent to mankind he was not sent
[3:18]for any other reason but to give good news bash and to
[3:24]to give Glad Tidings and to warn people of the Hereafter and
[3:29]tonight on the anniversary of the demise of the holy prophet I
[3:34]want to look into this discussion a bit further for us to
[3:37]truly comprehend and for us to be able to share that character
[3:40]of the holy prophet in a way to others for them to
[3:45]view Islam in a better manner for is it not the holy
[3:48]prophet who in the Quran Allah subhana wa tala says Allah subhah
[3:55]wa ta'ala says oh Prophet truly you are an outstanding character truly
[4:01]you are the best of characters of your time we have see
[4:08]in Allah subhana wa tala found you within those when the dirt
[4:14]within those who were of the those who are the unbelievers he
[4:20]saw you a diamond within this dirt within this dust for and
[4:26]truly you are an outstanding character and tonight I want to look
[4:30]into that story Into the life of the holy prophet and understand
[4:32]what a gentle and what a kind man he was during his
[4:37]time and what Allah subhana wa says in regards to him in
[4:39]the Quran we know that there's a lot that the Quran describes
[4:43]in regards to our holy prophet but tonight I'm going to look
[4:46]at two important verses and inshallah understand the prophet's character through these
[4:51]verses so that when people see that Islam in a certain manner
[4:56]or or we see those who use Islam to justify their barbaric
[4:59]actions for them for them to understand that this is not the
[5:04]Islam of the holy prophet rather this is a different version an
[5:09]incorrect version of Islam and begin We Begin of course with the
[5:13]verse that I recited at the beginning those who follow the Prophet
[5:21]The unlettered Prophet so why do we say Umi first of all
[5:26]many people they assume that Umi means that the holy prophet was
[5:28]never able to write and in the Quran Allah subhana wa says
[5:42]Allah subh says you oh Prophet could not read any writing before
[5:49]this Revelation nor could you write at all otherwise the people of
[5:52]falsehood would have been suspicious many people during that time of Jah
[5:56]they said the holy prophets he made this up but Allah says
[5:59]that no no you were Omi you were someone who did not
[6:04]have any formal teaching you know you were not someone who was
[6:07]learned within a madrasa or within a school but rather Allah subhana
[6:15]wa ta'ala gave you that ability to use it but there was
[6:18]of course a wisdom behind not writing and for him to reveal
[6:22]it and Allah Quran Allah subhana wa tala says that the PE
[6:25]people of falsehood would have been suspicious of you so we continue
[6:28]what Allah subhana says that which which prophets which the injil and
[6:39]the taat had revealed about you we see that both in the
[6:43]taat and injil there are is there are ways that they're trying
[6:48]to point you towards the holy prophet and uh previously we had
[6:54]this discussion about this that a word that's very famously used in
[6:57]the injil is paracletus in regards to the holy Prophet that there
[7:00]is someone who will be coming after you and this is the
[7:05]holy prophet now let's pay pay attention to this very important point
[7:13]he says to the holy prophet who enjoins upon them the good
[7:18]and forbids for them the evil and this is what the holy
[7:27]prophet in essence he was sent down to do IM he says
[7:29]in his in in the famous sermon in sermon 26 he says
[7:34]verily Allah had sent the holy prophet as a Warner for the
[7:37]people while you people of Arabia you were believing the worst religion
[7:43]you resided among stones and venomous serpents you drank filthy water and
[7:48]you ate filthy food you shed blood of each other and you
[7:51]cared not for your relationships the idols were fixed among you and
[7:54]the sins they were Clinging On to you this was the landscape
[7:58]of Arabia at that time we have to understand understand the J
[8:02]that existed during that time and the holy prophet we he says
[8:05]that I didn't come here to change your fundamentals I'm not I
[8:11]didn't come here to change completely what you believe rather the prophet
[8:16]said if you're doing good you're doing continue doing good and if
[8:22]you're doing he does of it many of us we understand when
[8:28]we try to teach others who for example aren't all the way
[8:31]up here in their Iman within their faith they start a bit
[8:34]lower they start on the first steps we Tire them out with
[8:39]we say this is this is this is must you should do
[8:43]this you should do that this Isam you can't do this you
[8:48]can't do that we we give too much or we put too
[8:49]much importance Within These and this Juris Prudential discussions rather after that
[8:55]the holy prophet is said Allah subhah wa taala says to the
[9:07]holy prophet to tell them he give Halal to the that which
[9:10]is good that which which conforms to your the holy prophet says
[9:14]keep on doing it you care about your familiar relationships please continue
[9:22]doing that very fundamental very easy to understand stuff on a first
[9:26]level the holy prophet says this is the tat that you're doing
[9:29]this is the goodness that you're doing continue uh continue these actions
[9:35]you're giving to those who are weaker you're giving charity he says
[9:42]keep on doing this but if there's something that you're doing wrong
[9:46]the holy prophet he says these are the these are things that
[9:53]don't conform to your own to your innate nature for the holy
[9:57]prophet on a very simple level he was bringing them towards Islam
[10:01]by making sure all those actions aligned with the F of insan
[10:06]to make sure that those actions were understood by those people within
[10:10]that period of Jah so it's very important for us to understand
[10:13]that if someone is doing good we want to increase thatat we
[10:17]want to increase that which one way we can understand it is
[10:22]it gives your soul it keeps your soul at rest you become
[10:25]happy as a result of this this is what aligns with the
[10:29]F this is that that we discussed about in the verse that
[10:32]the holy prophet says increase to this actions keep going with these
[10:36]actions and that which is leave them aside Salat so these are
[10:50]the and the of the holy prophet for he was teaching them
[10:54]simply what aligns with your F continue to do so and then
[11:00]he continues in the qu in this verse it continues and the
[11:08]holy prophets he freed he relieved them from those burdens that they
[11:12]had and those shackles that existed upon them these this these shackles
[11:20]that existed within those people in J and here there's an important
[11:25]discussion to be had this is a very larger discussion uh which
[11:27]we can go into but tonight we'll go through a very brief
[11:30]understanding of it some people they view Islam in the way what
[11:36]the holy prophet sent down in a way that it shackles us
[11:40]down it restricts us but we can see that it's the opposite
[11:43]in this verse Allah subhana wa tal says we've sent the holy
[11:48]prophet to relieve them of these shackles to relieve them of these
[11:51]burdens not to give them more burdens what were these shackles these
[11:55]were the shackles of Jah these were the shackles in the burden
[12:02]of ignorance these restrictions that Allah subhana wa ta'ala gives to insan
[12:08]it's not meant to restrict us in any way it's meant for
[12:11]us to flourish insan we're here to find that Cala within ourselves
[12:15]we're here to find that Perfection within ourselves and how can we
[12:19]do so without Allah subhana wa ta'ala Paving that path for us
[12:24]for you don't say someone who has laws within a country these
[12:27]laws are restricting them from their freedoms when you're driving on the
[12:31]road you don't think that red light is a is restricting your
[12:34]freedom do you rather Allah says this is the path this the
[12:37]destination and I have made that path very simple for you very
[12:43]simple I have made these laws these rules and if you follow
[12:46]this you find your Perfection do we feel that those people who
[12:51]were in that period of Jah those people when they treated their
[12:56]slaves in a certain manner when they were when they were beating
[13:00]their slaves was this Freedom did they have freedom with her during
[13:03]that time when these people were killing their daughters because they wanted
[13:07]to have sons instead was this the freedom of those people of
[13:09]the Arabs Allah subhana wa tala says no this is that J
[13:15]these are those shackles that you were putting on to yourself and
[13:19]the holy prophet he has come to go ahead and free you
[13:21]from these burdens what was the reason that the quray themselves they
[13:25]were against the holy prophet when he first revealed his message during
[13:29]the time of the qu in the city of Mecca we would
[13:34]see they were using the they were using the house of Allah
[13:39]as a business as a Tara they were telling people if you
[13:42]don't uh buy from our clothes this then you're you're not even
[13:50]allowed to do Haj there were people who could not pay to
[13:54]have these to buy from the qur that were told to do
[13:58]the TA of Thea naked for them not to have even clothes
[14:01]on is this freedom to us freedom to do whatever we wish
[14:07]to trample on those rights of other people we say no Allah
[14:11]subhana wa ta'ala has given us the perfect religion that conforms to
[14:19]our own f for us to find that Perfection salaat so this
[14:29]this is why the prophet was sent down both as one who
[14:35]gives good news of the Hereafter as a bash and aad to
[14:37]make sure that people are afraid of that Hereafter for people to
[14:42]understand that which awaits them and it's because of this we need
[14:47]to make sure we understand we have to ask ourselves how do
[14:50]we view Islam do I view this Islam as one that is
[14:55]a very harsh religion one that is restricting me from my own
[14:58]personal freedoms or do we find Islam as that which allows me
[15:04]to find that Perfection which allows me to become free from these
[15:08]shackles that which hold me down we need to make sure that
[15:10]our view of Islam is correct before we share this view to
[15:14]others and now we move on to our next point and the
[15:18]next point is the character of the holy prophet in regards to
[15:21]this Allah subhana wa T he says in the verse it is
[15:34]out of Allah's Mercy that you oh Prophet had been lenient towards
[15:39]them had you been cruel or had you been hard-hearted they would
[15:42]have certainly abandoned you we make sure that we follow the person
[15:48]who is the best of people when we say we want to
[15:53]make sure that the holy prophet is the best of characters Allah
[15:56]subhana wa tala says this is our Mercy onto you oh Prophet
[16:01]that you become kind-hearted that you become gentle that you come become
[16:05]very nice to the people and this was the character of the
[16:10]holy prophet this is that kindness that we need to manifest within
[16:13]our own Hearts this is that kindness that used to show to
[16:16]the people Allah subhana wa T says that he asks him later
[16:21]on he says to the prophet so pardon them ask Allah's forgiveness
[16:24]for them and consult with them in conducting your manners and when
[16:28]you make a a a decision then trust Allah in this decision
[16:32]the holy prophet was a very very kind man when we look
[16:38]into his life when he would pray Salah and he go into
[16:40]IM Hassan and Hussein they used to jump on his back and
[16:46]the prophet he wouldn't get up from his SJ until they got
[16:49]off this was the character of the holy prophet this is that
[16:53]kindness that we need to find within our own hearts that we
[16:56]need to reflect within our own character there were kids that were
[17:00]on the street when they saw the holy prophet they said oh
[17:04]Prophet you are always playing with your grandsons come spend time with
[17:09]us the prophet could have said you have your own grandfathers go
[17:13]spend time with them but no he doesn't say that do you
[17:18]think of any Statesman any person who is in charge of a
[17:23]city in charge of people he would take time and he would
[17:26]go spend it with kids no we don't see that the holy
[17:31]prophet he spends time with those children he makes sure that they're
[17:34]happy with him and then when people they saw this the Arabs
[17:39]they see this they told the holy prophets oh Prophet this is
[17:42]a sign of weakness you're here with children on the streets you
[17:46]should be a very strong man you should show your your character
[17:51]you should show how strong of a man you are if you're
[17:53]if you're images with children here no one's going to view you
[17:56]as a strong character he says if very very important point he
[18:04]says he who does not give Mercy to others he does not
[18:10]receive Mercy himself this is the kindness of the holy prophet and
[18:13]that it would came to even to a point that he was
[18:17]accepting people to come to his home at any time people would
[18:21]come to his house so much and he would never say no
[18:26]to anyone do we think that's a character that is a of
[18:29]a war Lord of someone who is who is looking for Bloodshed
[18:33]no we see the holy prophet's character was such a gentle character
[18:37]the holy prophet could never say anyone say no to anyone until
[18:43]the point that Allah had to send down a verse he said
[18:56]Allah subhana wa T says oh believers do not enter the houses
[19:03]other than your own until you have asked permission and greeted its
[19:06]occupants the holy prophet would have his house open his doors open
[19:12]to anyone they would come in and they sit with the holy
[19:13]prophet and when they said I wasn't sitting there and asking one
[19:18]Mas or two mas and then leaving they sat and they waited
[19:20]for dinner they sat and they waited for lunch this was the
[19:25]manner that the people were treating the prophet as a result of
[19:29]his kindness and after they would eat dinner they would wait for
[19:33]him to begin a this is how the people would have treated
[19:36]the prophets unto the point that Allah subhana wa tala brought down
[19:42]that verse to tell the people do not enter a house other
[19:44]than your own unless you've been granted that permission this is thatl
[19:48]that the holy prophet has brought down for us this is that
[19:54]AK that we need to share to others when people think of
[19:56]the Prophet they should think of that gentleness that kindness that he
[20:01]had given to insan what kind of person that he was it's
[20:06]very important that we show that to people around us salawat so
[20:19]look introspectively look within yourselves look at your own is it a
[20:23]welcoming is it that which aligns with my beliefs and if not
[20:30]we need to make sure that we use these Chances with these
[20:33]majales these majales that we come to for us to change our
[20:39]character for us to grow and only then can we reach that
[20:41]Perfection and tonight of course is the passing of the holy prophet
[20:47]it would be remiss of me to not discuss this and discuss
[20:51]the prophet's passing because the passing of the holy prophet was very
[20:56]difficult for the family of the holy prophet and it was very
[20:59]difficult of course especially to for this was the end of the
[21:08]Holy prophet's this is the end of insan connection and to Allah
[21:10]subhana wa tala this passing of the prophet and during that time
[21:17]the prophet was very sick and when he was sick he asked
[21:20]to come closer to her because he was going to tell something
[21:25]to his her ear so the PO so she comes close to
[21:30]the prophet and the prophet Whispers in her ear she whis the
[21:33]holy prophet Whispers something and then she cries after she's crying the
[21:38]holy prophet then Whispers something else into her ear after the second
[21:43]whisper F she's very happy she's gleaming with joy and then they
[21:50]asked her later on what was it that the holy prophet said
[21:53]to his daughter said that my dear daughter I'm going to pass
[22:00]very soon and that made her cry but then the holy prophet
[22:06]then he said you are the first that will join me in
[22:07]the Hereafter and then she began to be very happy and so
[22:13]much calamities fell upon the the family of the holy prophet so
[22:16]much calamities fell on Muhammad and Ali Muhammad to the point that
[22:29]there there's a very famous poem that's recited by the by say
[22:34]FAA she says he says so many calamities so much calamities fell
[22:49]upon us the family of the holy prophet that if they fell
[22:54]on those day on the day it would have turned into night
[22:56]this was the calamities that had fell after the passing of the
[23:03]holy prophet and this is what those who of the family had
[23:06]to live through after the prophet so much was going is going
[23:11]to happen very soon and she's going to have to go through
[23:14]so much in these difficult times after the passing so inshallah we
[23:21]end off here and we ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala we ask
[23:24]Ya Allah enable us to follow the bright path of am and
[23:30]Ya Allah we ask you to make our actions and make our
[23:35]characters that of our holy prophets we ask Ya Allah Ya Allah
[23:41]make our lives the lives of Muhammad and Ali Muhammad and make
[23:45]our deaths the death of muhamad and muhamad
