[0:00]foreign [Music] [Music] in our last video regarding tawasun we mentioned the
[0:43]beautiful tradition by Imam found in the book of and that traditionally
[0:53]mentioned a dialogue that took place between rasulullah Muhammad and a Jewish
[1:02]man and in that dialogue The Prophet mentioned how several Prophets including
[1:11]Ibrahim and Khalil performed tawasul they used the names of Muhammad Muhammad
[1:21]Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad peace be upon them as a
[1:27]means to achieve the Fulfillment of their need or their needs with
[1:34]Allah's permission subhana today we want to mention another tradition in which
[1:44]the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam mentions and we want to make a
[1:57]connection between this new tradition and the old tradition being the one
[2:00]found in al-amadi for Allah because once the connection is made we
[2:08]will come to a better understanding that tawasun does not contradict it
[2:17]does not contradict believing in Allah's unity in Allah's Oneness nor is
[2:24]it a form of polytheism the new tradition that we're speaking about
[2:29]is found in the book and it is a lengthy tradition by
[2:37]Imam alaskari our 11th Imam Alaskan he mentions that one day the
[2:42]prophet salallahu alaihi debated with five different groups of people he debated
[2:50]with a group of Jews a group of Christians a group of
[2:56]idol worshipers and others it was debating with these individuals when he
[3:05]was debating with the Christians the topic of Ibrahim was brought up
[3:10]and the title of Ibrahim was mentioned now means what you'll find
[3:27]in many English books that the title law is translated to the
[3:33]friend of Allah or say the close friend of Allah which is
[3:38]a decent translation but in the tradition we're talking about found in
[3:45]Allah presents two meanings two meanings four the title we're going to
[3:56]look at only one meaning today in order to make the connection
[4:00]that we mentioned so in that tradition the prophet sallallahu alaihi says
[4:07]he says Allah so he says that when we say Ibrahim alaihissalam
[4:23]is the Khalil of Allah the word Khalil here is derived from
[4:31]the word I'm pretty sure many of you are asking what does
[4:36]mean so the prophet says he says Allah foreign Ty and need
[4:55]what's the meaning poverty and need then the prophet continues and he
[5:04]says he says Ibrahim certainly Ibrahim was a Khalil to his Lord
[5:21]meaning he was in need of his Lord and he was fully
[5:26]devoted to Allah he was so devoted to Allah azzawajal he had
[5:39]turned away from anything other than Allah and was a needy of
[5:48]any being in existence other than Allah here we need to pause
[5:55]for a minute or two in order to understand this prophetic statement
[6:01]the statement of rasulullah what does it mean it means believed and
[6:13]was certain that the Fulfillment of his need lied solely in the
[6:23]hands of Allah hence he knew believed and was certain that he
[6:28]was in need of who of Allah and he was unneedy of
[6:33]anyone other than Allah however this does not mean that Ibrahim salaam
[6:39]never sought help from a creation of Allah nor does it mean
[6:51]that Ibrahim would never ask a particular being other than Allah or
[6:57]a particular creation to help him or to fulfill his need how
[7:01]can we say this while we say it based on the quranic
[7:05]verses that speak about the prophets and based on the biography of
[7:16]rasulullah who is the master of Ibrahim and the master of all
[7:20]prophets also based on the biographies of for example when we look
[7:28]at the biography of rasulullah we find that Prophet Muhammad although he
[7:36]was fully devoted to Allah and he was the embodiment of believing
[7:43]in Allah hate and Allah's Unity Prophet Muhammad would still seek help
[7:48]from fellow creations he would ask her ask certain people for help
[7:56]in fulfilling his need take the examples or the example of his
[8:04]battles when there would be an Islamic battle the prophet wouldn't only
[8:07]do Dua he wouldn't only say Ya Allah grant us victory over
[8:11]our enemies although he would ask Allah for help but on top
[8:16]of that he would tell the Muslims to do what to get
[8:19]ready for battle and in the battle he would tell them what
[8:24]to do he would command them to do the following deed or
[8:27]that deed he would seek help from Emmy in many instances and
[8:39]so when we see rasulullah the master of Creations the master of
[8:45]the prophets seeking help from fellow creations we know that this is
[8:57]not a form of a form of police a polytheism so long
[9:00]that the person believes this creation or that creation cannot help me
[9:11]without Allah's permission so when I have full belief that the Fulfillment
[9:17]of my need lies in the hands of Allah seeking help from
[9:22]a creation whilst believing that he cannot help me without Allah's permission
[9:29]does not contradict the belief we just mentioned which is knowing and
[9:35]believing that the Fulfillment of your need lies solely in the hands
[9:40]of God let me give you another example another example a quranic
[9:48]example before we continue with the narration of rasulullah as he speaks
[9:53]about Ibrahim take the example of suriman Suleiman was a king and
[10:00]a prophet Allah mentions the issue of of Sabah and the queen
[10:10]of Sabah known as Belkis who ultimately you know becomes Muslim she
[10:16]submits to Allah and believes in suriman when Allah mentions her story
[10:23]uh Allah says that addressed addressed his people or to be more
[10:31]precise certain individuals special individuals amongst his people and what did he
[10:41]say s in verse 38.
[10:47]he said o Elite which of you will bring me her throne
[10:54]before they come to me in submission it's upon Allah was seeking
[11:02]help from his what from the Mela right he was seeking help
[11:10]from these uh Elite these individuals he was asking them who will
[11:14]bring me her throne although he could have said yeah Allah bring
[11:17]me the Throne of Bill case that deed in itself indicates that
[11:24]if you seek help from a creation of Allah this does not
[11:29]necessarily mean you're performing as long as you believe that this individual
[11:35]cannot help me without Allah's permission then you are not falling into
[11:43]you're not following falling into any form of you're not falling into
[11:49]a form of polytheism so let us continue with the tradition of
[11:53]rasulallah as he speaks about Ibrahim the prophet says after he says
[12:07]he says foreign he says that when the people wanted to throw
[12:26]Ibrahim alaihissalam Into the Fire meaning the fire of nimrod this belief
[12:36]that we're talking about this abrahamic belief that we're talking about was
[12:41]was manifested in fact it was greatly manifested so he says when
[12:50]they threw Ibrahim Into the Fire what happened Allah it says go
[13:06]and save my slave meaning rescue Ibrahim a [Music] who can live
[13:24]here the tradition says that Ibrahim as Ibrahim was in mid-air so
[13:37]Ibrahim is on his way to the fire meets him in midair
[13:42]and he says what he tells him command me command me and
[13:48]I shall fulfill your command tell me what do you want me
[13:52]to do whatever you want me to do I shall do for
[14:00]certainly Allah has sent me to support you who were killed he
[14:15]said Allah is sufficient Allah is sufficient for me and he is
[14:21]an excellent trustee he told him I will not ask anyone to
[14:30]fulfill my need other than Allah I do not need anyone other
[14:41]than Allah the prophet says granted Ibrahim the title of what the
[14:57]prophet says is the one who is in need of Allah and
[15:03]the one who is fully devoted to Allah such that he turns
[15:11]away from anything other than God subhanahu now let's make the connection
[15:18]Ibrahim alaihissalam didn't ask Jabra IL for help he did not ask
[15:30]him for help brother he relied on Allah and he depended on
[15:37]God he knew that the Fulfillment of his need lied solely in
[15:40]the hands of Allah and to be honest that's a beautiful an
[15:51]outstanding manifestation of ibrahim's tawakul ibrahim's Reliance on God but that same
[16:01]Ibrahim who did not ask Jabra IL for the Fulfillment of his
[16:09]need use the names of Muhammad Muhammad in order to achieve the
[16:17]Fulfillment of his need and in order to be saved from the
[16:19]fire of nimrod how do we know when we refer to al-amali
[16:25]and we go back to the tradition that we mentioned in our
[16:32]previous post regarding tawasul we find rasulullah Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam saying
[16:41]the following saying was thrown into the fire meaning the fire of
[16:52]nimrod called Allah he said oh Allah I ask you for the
[17:05]sake of the right of Muhammad and The Prodigy of Muhammad to
[17:08]save me from it meaning save me from that fire he made
[17:19]the fire cold and peaceful to who to Ibrahim or upon Ibrahim
[17:26]alaihissalam so when we see that same Ibrahim the Ibrahim who refrains
[17:33]from asking to fulfill his need that same Ibrahim performs and uses
[17:43]the names of Muhammad Muhammad Ali him in order to achieve the
[17:47]Fulfillment of his need we come to a better understanding we understand
[17:56]more that tawasul does not contradict our head in fact the soul
[18:03]is part of tawheed it does not contradict it and it is
[18:12]not a form of shirk a form of polytheism to keep us
[18:15]on the path of Muhammad alhamdulillah foreign [Music]
