[0:55]Alhamdulillah.

[1:00][Music] Alhamdulillah.

[1:10][Music] [Music] [Music] I'm hallelujah.

[1:47][Music] Which one?

[2:07]They meaning they pleaded to Allah.

[2:14][Music] We fear that we may be quick to harm us that

[2:21]he may act irranically towards us.

[2:25]meaning Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala responded to the calls of M [Music]

[2:35]and Allah said in this verse of the [Music] Quran do not

[2:48]be afraid rest assured have no fear here.

[2:54]Surely I am with you all hearing and all seeing.

[3:01]This verse of the Quran that we recite is an important verse

[3:07]for us to pay attention.

[3:08]On a very simple level, we can understand that Allah subhanahu wa

[3:14]ta'ala gives Musam reassurance when they are afraid to go towards because

[3:22]they are afraid to go and go back to their people to

[3:28]go and save them from the Egypt.

[3:30]Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells them that do not be afraid that

[3:33]I am with you and I am all seeing and I am

[3:38]all hearing tonight in the in the on the second night the

[3:46]20 the night of the 21st of Ramadan we continue to build

[3:50]our connection with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala we continue to build this

[3:55]decree of Allah subhana wa ta'ala we ask for our hajat Because

[3:59]as we said this is a night that is greater than a

[4:05]thousand months.

[4:06]This is a night in which your year gets planned for you.

[4:09]So you want to ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for any kind

[4:11]of you have.

[4:14]And I know that many of us here we do have haj

[4:18]of our own.

[4:20]We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to help us in all of

[4:23]our difficulties in these times.

[4:26]And this important point is what we need to look at when

[4:32]we understand to put Allah's all our affairs in the hands of

[4:37]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that's the important point of tonight we are

[4:40]the ones who say ya Allah it is your decree tonight when

[4:46]I say when I say this is the night of decree whose

[4:48]decree am I talking about we're discussing the decree of Allah subhanahu

[4:52]wa ta'ala so when I make my towards Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

[4:58]I'm asking him, ya Allah, I put my affairs in your hands.

[5:04]You are al you are the one who takes charge of the

[5:06]affairs of the believers.

[5:09]So it is I who is who comes to you and asks

[5:14]for your help in all these matters.

[5:15]And Allah subhana wa ta'ala of course says in a verse of

[5:20]the Quran Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is in charge of all affairs.

[5:28]He says put your trust in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for him

[5:32]is enough for him is there is no other trustee that you

[5:37]require except for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

[5:40]We're all in in stress.

[5:44]We are all in moments of distress.

[5:46]We are all in moments of difficulties.

[5:49]But tonight when you are in the state of when you are

[5:55]in the state of asking Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, make sure to

[6:01]understand that it is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala who is the master

[6:04]of the affairs.

[6:05]It is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that you are asking but no

[6:08]one else.

[6:09]It is him who makes that plan for you.

[6:12]It is him that you need to have that towards that trust

[6:15]towards that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will make a path for me

[6:21]no matter what that path is.

[6:22]We don't see the full picture sometimes.

[6:25]Sometimes we're in a moment of difficulty and we feel distressed.

[6:29]And that's why Allah subhana wa ta'ala says Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[6:37]says do not be afraid for I am with you.

[6:43]And there's a very beautiful story or or or example that we

[6:45]can use in this case that I've heard once before.

[6:49]When you see an ant, for example, it's on a colorful carpet.

[6:55]It's walking on a carpet and it only gets to see a

[6:57]certain color of that carpet.

[7:00]So it's walking through this carpet and it only sees red because

[7:02]that's the only thing that is within their peripheral vision.

[7:04]You who is above that ant say, "Look at that ant.

[7:09]It doesn't get to see the whole picture.

[7:10]It doesn't get to see that.

[7:12]No, other than red, there's also green.

[7:14]There's also blue.

[7:16]There's also black.

[7:16]There's also white.

[7:19]But you can only see the color red.

[7:21]As that ant starts to crawl, it starts to see a different

[7:24]color and it becomes afraid.

[7:27]I y I thought that it was only red that I get

[7:29]to see.

[7:30]But no, now I'm seeing blue.

[7:32]So that ant only has a very limited kind of vision.

[7:38]It only sees a certain aspect and it's under stress.

[7:41]It's afraid of what else it's going to see.

[7:43]But you who is overseeing that ant, you're looking over that ant.

[7:49]You see that?

[7:49]Alhamdulillah, he's going to be able to get across.

[7:53]No matter how many different colors he crosses, there's no problem for

[7:56]him.

[7:57]When we should look at ourselves in that place of that, Allah

[8:02]subhana wa ta'ala is in charge of all our affairs.

[8:08]no matter how many times others plan against Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[8:15]is Allah subhana wa ta'ala that is the best of planners.

[8:17]So that's why I ask tonight on this that even if you're

[8:23]feeling in despair, you're feeling stressed, you're feeling that there's no way

[8:30]that Allah subhana wa ta'ala can hear you.

[8:38][Music] And of course, we'll stumble.

[8:46]It's part of our goal to stumble to to take these tests

[8:48]and these trials and to fall in these tests.

[8:51]We need to make sure that we don't commit a sin here.

[8:57]When we fall, sometimes when we fall and we have our own

[9:01]shortcomings, we ascribe these shortcomings to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, we say,

[9:07]"Ya Allah, I asked you for this, this, this.

[9:11]Why did it not happen?

[9:11]I put all my faith in you that you should that that

[9:16]I was going to pass this test that I was going to

[9:21]get this thing that I wished for." But when we look at

[9:25]it, we see that you yourself did not strive towards it.

[9:29]You yourself did not look to try to attain it.

[9:31]And you just waited for Allah subhana wa ta'ala to give it

[9:37]to you.

[9:38]For example, when someone comes to a mother's hand for their daughter's

[9:44]hand in marriage, she does and then the becomes good.

[9:46]She gives that her daughter to that person and that they realize

[9:49]later on that person was a bad person.

[9:51]Does ya Allah why is it that you gave my daughter we

[9:55]gave it and it came out good and we gave her a

[9:59]hand and it wasn't a good marriage.

[10:01]You have to pay attention that you might have had shortcomings in

[10:05]looking towards this character.

[10:08]This person that came for that daughter's hand you didn't ask around.

[10:12]You did not look to it.

[10:13]It doesn't mean to put all your faith in Allah subhana wa

[10:17]ta'ala to jump in anything blind.

[10:18]We need to make sure we strive towards something and then for

[10:22]that other rest we keep that in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala or

[10:28]on the flip side sometimes we have Allah subhana wa ta'ala's perfections

[10:32]and we make it a part of ourselves let's say you're someone

[10:40]has beauty someone is very smart someone is knowledgeable someone has power

[10:44]this these are aspects of Allah subhanaa tala and they describe them

[10:50]to themselves.

[10:49]It causes them to feel arrogant.

[10:51]They they get very proud that I I have this or I

[10:55]have that.

[10:56]We need to make sure that we avoid this kind of shortcoming

[10:58]as well.

[10:59]Either on one side where we ascribe our shortcomings to Allah and

[11:03]on the flip side that we ascribe Allah subhana wa ta'ala's perfections

[11:08]in his characteristics towards ourselves.

[11:11]That's why sometimes our scholars would say the best blessing you can

[11:16]have, the best that you can have is sickness.

[11:20]Because when you're sick, you realize that nothing that you had, that

[11:25]power that you had, that beauty that you had, that wisdom or

[11:31]knowledge that you had, it was nothing but Allah subhana wa tala.

[11:33]In a moment, Allah can take that from you.

[11:37]So it's very important that we pay attention to that and to

[11:40]make sure that we make use of these tests because these tests

[11:45]are for us and our growth for no one really grows without

[11:48]a test.

[11:49]We need to make sure that even in all of these trials

[11:52]that I receive in this world that I keep my in Allah

[11:57]subhanahu wa ta'ala for if this life was without tests then what

[12:01]would be the point of let's say you're in a football team

[12:04]or a soccer team and you're in a championship you keep playing

[12:10]every match and of course there are going to be moments of

[12:12]heartbreak.

[12:13]You're going to lose a game.

[12:15]You're going to get injured for example throughout the season.

[12:19]You might get hurt.

[12:19]These are all evils.

[12:20]No, these are all difficulties.

[12:23]But even after that, when you've gone through all of that and

[12:29]you come back and you fought even harder, when you win that

[12:32]championship at the end of the day, does that not taste so

[12:34]sweet because it was those blood, sweat, and tears that you put

[12:40]in to get that?

[12:40]And they had these trials.

[12:44]Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows that their trials are much more than

[12:49]ours.

[12:50]Ours are nothing compared to the holy prophet and his family's trials

[12:54]that they had to go through.

[12:55]So we need to make sure that we understand that these trials

[12:59]are a way for us to find perfection are a way for

[13:05]us to find in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

[13:08]So inshallah we can ask Allah subhanana wa ta'ala to give us

[13:11]that to give us that trust in him even through difficulties even

[13:19]through distress through problems alam in his he keeps on saying you

[13:24]are the one who is strong I am the one who's weak

[13:28]you are the one who's powerful you are the one who is

[13:30]rich and I am the one that's poor yeah ma Allah subhana

[13:34]wa ta'ala it is in your hands all my affairs cares and

[13:39]I am the one who is in need of you.

[13:41]So it's important that we understand that these trials that we get

[13:44]but there is even a higher position outside of this we have

[13:50]but even higher than that is what and what do I mean

[13:58]by and there is an aspect that is even higher than in

[14:02]which we are completely fine with these affairs that Allah subhana wa

[14:09]ta'ala leaves for us no matter which difficulty I have no matter

[14:13]those happy moments or that sad moments I am still with Allah

[14:16]subhanahu wa ta'ala Allah subhana wa ta'ala says perhaps you like something

[14:29]but it's evil for you so it's bad for you it's not

[14:31]good for you Allah subhana wa ta'ala is aware about that and

[14:36]we have a narration from kafi Imam he said he's asked what

[14:39]makes a believer believer a believer he [Music] says submission to Allah

[14:51]subhana wa ta'ala makes a believer a believer a mmin becomes a

[14:55]mment only true through through submission through even through hardships or difficulties

[15:02]they find that submission to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala salawat And I

[15:14]finish off on this discussion with a narration from Bakaram.

[15:20]He says to Jab Abdah, he sat asked Jabar, "Yah Jab, what

[15:26]state are you in?" Jab responds, "I am in a state where

[15:30]I prefer illness to health.

[15:34]I prefer poverty to wealth.

[15:36]I prefer death to life.

[15:37]Im says we are not like this.

[15:39]What are the imams like?

[15:42]He says what whatever Allah subhana wa ta'ala brings to us we

[15:46]are content in that in illness in health in calamity in well-being

[15:51]death or life.

[15:53]We are in complete contentment with what Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives.

[15:58]Jaba's position is that of patience that I would prefer illness towards

[16:03]health.

[16:04]Jabra is showing that he has but the say what their position

[16:13]is that of submission to Allah to say that even ya Allah

[16:17]in my moments of difficulties I have that true true contentment that

[16:23]you are in charge of my affairs and even if this moment

[16:28]is difficult that I entrust all my affairs in you and with

[16:32]that said Tonight is a night of trials and tribulations for the

[16:37]family of the holy prophets.

[16:39]Imam two nights ago or three nights ago was struck by Muljim

[16:47]and now on the 21st the night of the 21st of Ramadan

[16:52]he stands in he's he lays in his bed and he's around

[16:57]his sons and daughters and his companions and they cannot bear to

[17:02]see him in this state.

[17:02]When he struck Im Ali, it wasn't an ordinary sword that he

[17:08]struck Im Ali.

[17:08]He struck Im Ali Alisam with a sword that he covered with

[17:12]poison.

[17:13]A very very potent poison that once it strikes it spreads throughout

[17:18]the body.

[17:21]And this poison that is going throughout his body is making him

[17:26]very weak.

[17:27]Sometimes when we have a loved one and their passings, it's something

[17:32]that happens very instantaneously, they pass away and you realize about it.

[17:38]But that's very difficult.

[17:39]But what's more difficult is when someone has an accident and slowly

[17:45]you can see that life fade away from them.

[17:48]In those three nights, the sons and the companions of Amir Alm,

[17:54]they stood by his bed as he was slowly getting weaker.

[18:00]And there was a doctor around them.

[18:03]And that doctor, he took off his the cloth of his head.

[18:06]And as he unfolded and he looked at the cloth, he told

[18:10]everyone the news that I am would not be able to recover

[18:16]and he that he would have passed away in that moment.

[18:18]and to make his moments, his last final moments very easy for

[18:22]him.

[18:23]And it's in that moment, let's take our hearts to to the

[18:30]house of Ali and the companions and his sons and daughters were

[18:35]all around him.

[18:38]The poison of had struck on the head of Alm in the

[18:44]same place when where Abdul had struck on the battle of Kandak

[18:51]and it's gone that that poison in his sword has spread towards

[18:55]the blessed brain of Im Ali and now his skin it changes

[19:02]his skin changes to a yellow and Im Ali is slowly losing

[19:05]his energy he's slowly feeling that life being drained away from him.

[19:09]And then the companions are all around imam.

[19:13]They're the ones who are saying their final farewells to Im Ali.

[19:22]And Imam he says, "Leave me one by one.

[19:26]It's fine.

[19:24]I do not want to cause this pain for you.

[19:28]I do not want to feel you to feel distressed.

[19:31]So leave us." And the companions they left one by one.

[19:37]And they all left the house of Im Ali.

[19:39]And now when they were alone, all of the sons and daughters

[19:47]of Im Ali, they started to cry.

[19:48]But then they hear something.

[19:50]They hear that outside someone is crying as well.

[19:52]Hassan he goes to check.

[19:56]He checks outside and he sees that who is outside and he's

[20:00]crying.

[20:01]He's outside and he's crying.

[20:04]He said he says yeah why are you outside here crying has

[20:09]asked you all to leave himself he says I wish to leave

[20:18]but my feet don't move he says that he's not able to

[20:24]his legs will not allow him to stand up for I fear

[20:27]the pain of my im so he brings him in and when

[20:33]sees the state of Im Ali.

[20:36]He starts to weep.

[20:39]He starts to weep for Im Ali.

[20:41]And Im Ali says what to him?

[20:43]He says, "Why is it that you cry for me?

[20:47]For Jenna awaits me.

[20:50]Do not cry." And asbah says, "What?" He says, "I am crying

[20:55]because I cannot live without you.

[20:58]Even if you leave and you are in Jenna, I cannot live

[21:04]in this world.

[21:06]Not to be able to pray behind you, not to be asking

[21:07]to consult from you.

[21:11]And as in that moment he leaves and the family of Ma

[21:14]is in the house by themselves and they start weeping and the

[21:20]women are crying and the house is filled with tears and cries

[21:24]and Im Ali Alisam he starts to sweat from his forehead and

[21:27]he's asked by his son oh father why is it your forehead

[21:31]is sweating he says oh son I've heard of the messenger of

[21:36]Allah he says when death comes upon a faithful believer his forehead

[21:40]sweats and his cries they calm down and he knows that he's

[21:44]going to depart from this world and he bids all his sons

[21:51]and daughters farewell and he turns towards Hassan and he says yeah

[21:54]Hassan I saw this dream and I talked about this dream two

[21:59]nights ago for that the messenger of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he

[22:02]came to me he said after three nights Allah will bring you

[22:05]to us he says yeah tonight those three nights are terminated.

[22:12]I ask you what what does he ask you?

[22:15]I want you to take good care of you both are a

[22:23]part of me and I am a part of you.

[22:27]He turns his face towards his other sons and he orders them.

[22:32]He says never leave the side and don't go against those instructions

[22:36]and commands of Alassan Hussein.

[22:37]And he says, "May Allah console you excellently this night.

[22:43]I depart you and I follow my dear brother as he has

[22:46]promised me." And then he faints.

[22:47]Ali he faints in that moment.

[22:49]And he regains consciousness.

[22:52]He says to his sons, "I have just seen the messenger of

[22:57]Allah.

[22:58]I have seen my uncle Hanza.

[23:03]I've seen my brother Jaffa." And the companions of the old messenger.

[23:07]And they said to me, "Hurry up.

[23:12]Come to us.

[23:10]We are surely eager to meet you." And Ali Alisam, he says,

[23:17]"I entrust you to Allah.

[23:17]My representative among you is Allah.

[23:20]He is the best of representatives." And the imam soul, it leaves

[23:25]his body in those moments.

[23:27]And he leaves his last breaths on this earth.

[23:31]And then the cries of the house of Ali they start to

[23:39]cry loudly that has passed.

[23:41]And in that moment those people of Kufa they realize that is

[23:50]no longer in this world.

[23:52][Music] Ya Allah, we ask you in this night of we ask

[24:08]you to raise us with the intercession of Alm.

[24:13]Ya Allah, we ask you to bless us with this y of

[24:17]IM Ali.

[24:18]Amen.

[24:19]Ya Allah, we ask you to enable us to serve you in

[24:24]a life of piety.

[24:23]Ya Allah, we ask you to keep us and our children on

[24:28]this right path.

[24:28]Ya Allah, we ask you to benefit for us to benefit in

[24:32]these.

[24:33]Ya Allah, please make our imm pleased with us.

[24:38]In honor of those who have passed, we will end off tonight

[24:41]with a surah.

[24:44]But before that, your list of salawads.
