The search for a life-partner in marriage can be stressful. We need all the help we can get. There is an amazing verse in the Quran that comes highly recommended, not only for finding a spouse but also for a healthy marital relationship as well as righteous children. Sheikh Mohammed Al-Hilli explains.

[0:00][Music] chapter 25 verse number 74 this ayah highlights the relationship the

[0:17]human being should have when it comes to marriage and it's an

[0:20]ayah of great importance because we have been recommended by our ulama

[0:26]to recite this ayah if we are looking to get married to

[0:29]recite this ayah if we are already married for a happy marriage

[0:32]and to recite this ayah if we have children or we want

[0:40]children what is this ayah in the holy quran bismillah are the

[0:55]ones who recite the following they say o our lord grant us

[1:03]from our spouses and our children and descendants those that bring us

[1:12]coolness of the eyes apple of the eyes and make us the

[1:15]leaders of the god weary is narrated to have said this is

[1:25]one of the most common duas he used to recite he loved

[1:29]this dua from the holy quran it was that he would utter

[1:35]and encourage others to utter how is this verse important to you

[1:39]and i today please focus on the examination of this ayah before

[1:42]we look at practical reasons why conflicts happen allah subhanahu wa allah

[1:47]says that those who say ya allah grant us in arabic hab

[1:55]is not like apa to give heb is different to gifts hadiya

[2:00]when you and i give someone something it is usually because we

[2:06]have to reply or give them something in return for something that

[2:09]they have done to us yes if they've been kind to us

[2:13]if they've already gifted us something hab in arabic means when you

[2:18]give something to someone they do not necessarily deserve it but you

[2:23]give it to them allah is saying we supplicate to him and

[2:27]say ya allah we may not be deserving of this but give

[2:31]it to us now min from our spouse meaning husband or wife

[2:40]depending who's reciting and our children yes no in quran means our

[2:57]descendants allah is saying when you get married don't think about your

[3:03]family you are building an institution for thousands of years build it

[3:08]properly meaning what don't think when you look for a wife or

[3:12]you look for a husband you want a good father for your

[3:17]children or a good wife your children no doubt think about generations

[3:21]you are planting the seeds for many many thousands of people that

[3:26]will come after you who will follow your line who will continue

[3:30]who will be your progeny this is the planning islam gives you

[3:35]an eye says build this holy institution marriage so that your line

[3:40]continues to be righteous so that you get thawab and you continuously

[3:45]are blessed by allah that is why the quran says now in

[3:50]arabic when a human being what cries normally tears are of two

[4:01]kinds either they are sad or happiness do you agree sad tears

[4:05]are known as what hot tears happy tears are known as cold

[4:10]tears what do you mean if somebody for example is departing leaving

[4:15]and we are bidding farewell to them if a mother is bidding

[4:18]farewell to her son or daughter they are sad so the tears

[4:22]is normally hot tears but when they come back and the mother

[4:26]for example is delighted and she cries they are cool tears in

[4:31]arabic when the arabs used to be in the desert they used

[4:36]to be sandstorms and they used to hide in caves in order

[4:40]to protect from these storms when they hide in caves they say

[4:46]i have now my eyes are cool and are protected from the

[4:51]storm look at this please understand this this is a gem of

[4:54]an ayan oh the quran is a treasure quran says when you

[4:58]say ya allah i want a spouse and children that give me

[5:03]coolness of the eye because they will protect me from the storm

[5:09]outside because at home it gives me tranquility it gives me happiness

[5:13]it gives me a sense of relief from all the pressures outside

[5:19]all the difficulties outside says that we returned musa to his mother

[5:40]what does it say it is because when that child was returned

[5:47]to the mother she was so delighted her eyes was cool with

[5:53]happiness number one number two is also referred to as somebody who

[6:00]asks in paradise because there is a wonderful verse that highlights what

[6:10]this whole is if you understand this then you appreciate the ethos

[6:15]the philosophy the background of why marriage is there in the first

[6:21]place allah you would not know what allah now you would not

[6:34]know what allah has given you because it will result in same

[6:41]word as the one that is used in the verse of marriage

[6:45]what does this mean allah says sort out your marriage jannah is

[6:52]for you this you are supplicated to allah i want a spouse

[6:56]and i want descendants and children that grant me then the quran

[7:01]says in jannah you can't imagine what allah will give you but

[7:06]i can tell you this it will give you quran and therefore

[7:13]the recognition arises that when it comes to the religion of islam

[7:17]the intentions the philosophy the background the whole ethos of marriage is

[7:22]to obtain paradise together is to attain jannah together is to achieve

[7:29]perfection together is to please allah subhanahu wa ta'ala [Music] together [Music]
