[0:12]Alhamdulillah.
[0:36]Ali Muhammad Muhammad forchech.
[1:35]forham.
[2:11]Continuing with our discussion about tonight if Allah gives us we'll discuss
[2:18]ayah number nine and ayah number 10 of the surah Allah subhanahu
[2:25]wa ta'ala in these couple of ayat is talking about a dispute
[2:29]that might occur among the If a dispute were to happen among
[2:40]two groups of Mumen, they're both they're both good.
[2:42]Then what do you do?
[2:46]First of all, of course, you try to negotiate, try to discuss,
[2:51]try to settle this issue.
[2:53]War is the last thing that you would want to resort to.
[2:57]And if you remember last night I mentioned when there is a
[3:02]problem between two if there is a person having a problem with
[3:05]another M approach him privately or approach her privately confidentially and explain
[3:13]to him or to her what is the problem how you felt
[3:18]about a statement that was said or an action that was done.
[3:21]And then when someone brings that to your attention in a private
[3:29]manner, then be respectful, be kind.
[3:30]Say to them, I appreciate you bringing this to my attention.
[3:34]I was not aware.
[3:37]At the end of the day, we are not.
[3:39]We might say something, do something maybe unintentionally that might hurt somebody
[3:46]else's feeling or might, for example, harm someone else.
[3:48]So we need to be careful.
[3:52]And therefore if we can establish this in the community then inshallah
[3:55]the problems in the community would be reduced significantly.
[3:58]Instead of going out publicly and sending out emails and sending out
[4:03]messages and so on so forth let's try to figure out the
[4:10]issues confidentially privately respectfully with good intentions.
[4:14]brothers and sisters talking behind people's back and creating problems in the
[4:20]in the community.
[4:20]Unfortunately, they will not usually usually they don't resolve the issue.
[4:24]They make it bigger and if anything they might make it worse
[4:29]where it gets to the point, God forbid the community splits and
[4:32]we've seen how many times we've seen that happens.
[4:34]Unfortunately, we want to make sure that the unity is maintained among
[4:42]the um especially worked hard for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa
[4:55]ta'ala for the sake of the h to prevail it is said
[5:00]the first issue that was brought to Abu Bakr when he took
[5:06]the and he took the and they brought him a problem he
[5:11]had to resolve it what was that problem.
[5:14]They told him, "We caught somebody drinking in Medina.
[5:16]Now we need to discipline him." The man was brought to Abu
[5:26]Bakr.
[5:22]The man said, "Yah Bakr, I am a new to Islam.
[5:28]I did not know that drinking was haram.
[5:32]No one told me." So Abu Bakr then turned to Omar.
[5:38]He said, "Yeah, Omar, what do you think we should do here?"
[5:41]here.
[5:41]He says, "I don't know what to do here.
[5:47]Ask Ab." So they call.
[5:49]He comes.
[5:51]He comes and he says, "Okay, the man is claiming that no
[5:59]one told him that drinking is haram.
[6:01]So why don't you send two men with him to go around
[6:08]the city of Medina and ask has anyone told this man that
[6:13]drinking is haram?
[6:12]If people say yes we have told him then you establish the
[6:19]justice.
[6:20]But if no one says we've told him and the man is
[6:23]genuine he did not know.
[6:26]So then in this case now you let him go but you
[6:29]give him the warning and you give him the heads up.
[6:31]The imam solved the problem.
[6:35]Now this is days brothers and sisters after what they did by
[6:40]taking the away from does that mean Im Ali is in agreement
[6:44]with these people?
[6:45]No, he is not.
[6:47]He's not in agreement with what they're doing.
[6:48]So then why would he do this?
[6:50]Salman asked that question.
[6:56]When Im Ali answered this question and came out of the masjid,
[7:03]he said, "You're helping them after all that they've just done.
[7:07]You're still helping them." He says, "I help them so that it
[7:15]becomes a proof over them." Because Allah says, Is the one who
[7:28]guide to the truth more worthy of being followed or the one
[7:33]who does not know how to guide rather he needs guidance.
[7:36]He says now they know that they are unable to solve these
[7:42]problems and the people can see who solved the problem.
[7:45]It is and therefore he is the one more worthy of the
[7:52]that's why interestingly some of the Sunni scholars they say yes was
[8:04]better than everyone else from the he's the best but the best
[8:11]does not mean he has to become the Khalifa and you can
[8:13]have a Khalifa who's not the Okay.
[8:17]To respond to them, our answer is this ayah.
[8:21]Who is more worthy of being followed?
[8:23]Quran is giving you the answer.
[8:27]Is it the one who guides to the more worthy of being
[8:31]followed or the one who does not know how to guide rather
[8:36]he needs guidance?
[8:35]And then Quran says how do you judge you know use your
[8:44]so try to help and then in a letter later on that
[8:54]he wrote to the people of Egypt.
[8:56]He says people ask why did you help those people before you
[9:00]when you disapprove of their leadership.
[9:02]He said because I saw Islam is about to crumble and if
[9:09]I don't step in the religion of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will
[9:12]be in jeopardy.
[9:15]So for the sake of Allah for the sake of religion I
[9:17]stepped in to help.
[9:20]You see brothers and sisters if that's our imam whom we claim
[9:26]to love then shouldn't we be following his example?
[9:28]If that's how he deals with such people who attacked his wife,
[9:34]who attacked his house, who were the reason to kill his son
[9:37]and yet for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, for the
[9:43]sake of Islam, he's working with them and advising them and consulting
[9:48]them.
[9:49]Okay?
[9:48]Well, I mean, they're consulting him.
[9:50]He's giving them the answer.
[9:53]Not that he consults them.
[9:55]They consult him, but he's providing advice for them.
[10:00]So does that mean for us we are all alhamdulillah we are
[10:03]all we may have disagreements about few things how we run things
[10:07]how we do things then we don't need to be call name
[10:12]calling people and calling each other and then saying this group and
[10:15]that group and this and so on so forth this is something
[10:19]important we learn from from this day onwards we should try to
[10:24]always reconciliate between groups if there our problems we approach them in
[10:31]a rational manner illogical manner in a confidential manner and we try
[10:36]to resolve the issue inshallah and when you are given advice again
[10:40]don't be stubborn don't say no I am right and it's my
[10:44]way or the highway it doesn't work that way when you're given
[10:48]advice listen but sometimes you know as the im says he says
[10:52]attaining the pleasure of people is a wish that cannot be fulfilled
[10:59]you Some people will say start the program for example with salat.
[11:02]Some people say no no no don't start with salat because then
[11:04]people need to doar.
[11:06]What are you going to do withar?
[11:07]Start after salat.
[11:07]Then you you start with salat people will be unhappy.
[11:10]You start after salat people will not be happy.
[11:14]You can't please everybody.
[11:14]So you do whatever it is in the best interest of the
[11:19]community the community.
[11:19]And that's where sometimes brothers and sisters we need to be careful
[11:23]not to judge the decision of people.
[11:25]You can ask go clar ask for a clarification why did you
[11:29]choose to do this and those in the position of leadership need
[11:33]to explain because of one two three this is why now someone
[11:36]might say well I don't agree with your logic because of one
[11:42]two three then they can have a discussion and they say okay
[11:44]let's work on something that is the best interest of the community
[11:48]we cannot please everyone it's impossible you cannot please people okay and
[11:53]that's why it's so much easier to Please Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[11:57]because Allah says do this and we're Allah will be pleased with
[11:59]us.
[12:00]Pleasing people is so difficult.
[12:01]So my brothers and sisters what we learn from the history of
[12:08]and especially we are now in the days of imam is that
[12:13]we need to work together as collaborate and we need to stay
[12:21]together as a community.
[12:21]All right.
[12:23]Now if a dispute were to happen then you try to mediate
[12:26]have some mediation have some discussion try to resolve the problem and
[12:32]the first time such a dispute happened was during the of Muhammad
[12:41]during the time of man started appointing beni he is from beni
[12:48]man is from beni the third khalifa So he started appointing benny
[12:54]omea in positions of power, governors and so on so forth.
[12:57]And then they started taking the money.
[13:00]So they would take the money to themselves.
[13:03]So the benome started getting richer and richer and people getting poorer
[13:08]and poorer.
[13:09]And then he started for example when people started to speak he
[13:15]would discipline them literally.
[13:15]He would beat them up like Yasf for example spoke.
[13:20]He said, "Why are you doing this?
[13:22]This is not right." So they beat him up.
[13:25]Literally, physically, they beat him up.
[13:27]But then he recovered.
[13:28]Another person, Abdullahb Mas, he also spoke.
[13:32]He said, "You cannot do this." They beat him up and then
[13:37]they stopped paying him his monthly allowance.
[13:38]So he became poor.
[13:42]He didn't have his monthly allowance and he became ill.
[13:44]And as a consequence of this beating up, he died.
[13:49]He died.
[13:50]They and they killed him.
[13:51]Okay.
[13:52]Before his death, few days before his death, man goes to visit
[13:55]him and he says, "Forgive us for what we did.
[13:58]We will give you the money now.
[13:59]You know, we've deprived you of the money." He says, "Now you
[14:02]want to give me the money now that I'm dying.
[14:04]What am I going to do with the money now?" You know,
[14:05]so subhan Allah, they beat people up and then just before they
[14:10]die, forgive us.
[14:10]Forgive.
[14:10]Don't beat them up in the first place.
[14:12]You know, don't hurt people in the first place.
[14:15]And there are people like that unfortunately in this world.
[14:17]They hurt.
[14:18]they bother and then when someone is about to die or when
[14:21]they're about to die, please forgive me for what I've done, you
[14:26]know, Allah is there.
[14:27]Allah is just, Allah is merciful and Allah is going to take
[14:30]a look at what's going to happen.
[14:33]Justice is going to be served.
[14:36]Nonetheless, Abu Dafi, you heard the story.
[14:38]He used to get sent in exile.
[14:40]So that's how they started treating the Sahabah.
[14:43]If someone were to speak, either gets beaten up or gets sent
[14:46]in an exile.
[14:49]So people became, you know, upset and angry at at his leadership.
[14:53]Im Ali Alisam would advise him regularly.
[14:55]He would tell him, "Listen, if this is how you're going to
[14:58]run things, people are going to get angry at you." So then
[15:02]he changes for a little while.
[15:03]When I imam speaks to him, he changes.
[15:06]But then he was very weak in his personality.
[15:09]Marwan Hakim was really the one in charge.
[15:13]Marwan Marwan would come and tell him, "What the nonsense is this?
[15:15]We are the one in charge.
[15:17]let us run things the way we should be running things.
[15:18]So he lets then Marwan run things and Marwan would ruin things
[15:23]for him.
[15:22]He would run them the way he sees fit for himself and
[15:27]his interest and for the benyad when it came to he decreased
[15:34]her monthly allowance.
[15:37]He decreased it.
[15:37]So she came to speak to him told him why would you
[15:41]do this?
[15:42]Why did you decrease my allowance?
[15:43]He says, "Well, why would you deserve a higher allowance than everyone
[15:47]else?
[15:47]I'm the wife of the prophet and the prophet sallallahu alaihi he
[15:52]left us inheritance." He was sitting like this.
[15:58]He's like, "He left you what?" She says, "Inheritance." He says, "You
[16:05]know, Fatima will know today what kind of a good cousin I
[16:12]am." He says, "Didn't you come with another man who does not
[16:15]even understand religion?" He used a different language, different word.
[16:17]A man who does not understand religion and he came and testified
[16:21]before your father that the prophet sallallah.aii wasallam said that us the
[16:28]prophets do not leave any inheritance.
[16:29]Whatever we leave behind is for the Muslims.
[16:33]Didn't you narrate that hadith?
[16:37]And that's what you used against Fatima for her right in Fedak.
[16:41]So she became so angry.
[16:45]She became furious.
[16:44]She left him and she said, "Kill him.
[16:48]Killman because he's a kafir." So she was one of the instigators
[16:53]against Afan.
[16:56]Okay.
[16:57]Among the instigators were also and Zuber.
[17:01]These people became instigators.
[17:03]They're like, you know, what is this man doing?
[17:06]What is he all doing?
[17:06]He's stealing people's money and so on.
[17:09]So people then when they saw some of the Sahabah are speaking
[17:12]against him.
[17:12]The wife of the prophet is speaking against him.
[17:15]Slowly slowly people revolted.
[17:16]The people of Egypt revolted and they came finally killed.
[17:22]They killed him.
[17:21]Okay.
[17:22]Even though Im Ali Alisam was against the killing of the Khalifa
[17:25]but he gave him advice many times.
[17:28]But what can he do?
[17:31]He chooses his path.
[17:32]They killed man.
[17:34]Then they came to Im Ali.
[17:35]The people came overwhelming everybody said you know we've had enough.
[17:40]It's almost been 25 years since the death of and he appointed
[17:47]you as the Khalifa.
[17:50]We want you to become the Khalifa.
[17:52]He told them now if you want me to become the Khalifa
[17:54]now wars will be fought because I will bring back the sunnah
[18:03]of and people will not be happy with that.
[18:04]For example, Omar had created a cast system.
[18:09]If you are a Muslim, a companion from Mecca and you were
[18:16]Muslim before the conquest of Mecca, you get paid this much.
[18:20]If you are from the people of Medina, you get paid this
[18:24]much.
[18:24]If you are an Arab, you get paid this much.
[18:27]If you're non-Arab, you get paid a bit less.
[18:31]So, so he created a cast system.
[18:32]People get paid higher and lower.
[18:35]This was not there at the time of also what Omar did
[18:40]what the prophet sallallahu alaihi used to do is whatever money the
[18:44]prophet sallallahu alaihi would get whatever money he gets at the end
[18:47]of the month for example let's say he gets a thousand dins
[18:51]1,000 gold coin for example from the zakat and the and so
[18:54]on the prophet sallallahu alaihi would distribute all this money evenly in
[18:58]an equal manner upon the people who are in need all to
[19:04]the Okay, he would not leave a single dinar in the Muslim
[19:07]treasury.
[19:08]Everything goes to the people because it belongs to the people.
[19:11]Okay, Abu Bakr did the same thing.
[19:13]Omar came initially he was doing this but then he said why
[19:19]are we doing this?
[19:19]We should assign salaries.
[19:22]We give salary to people.
[19:23]Everyone gets for example one din for example you know that's all
[19:26]you get.
[19:27]So now if there is excess money what happens?
[19:30]Where does this go?
[19:30]In the Muslim treasury.
[19:32]So now the Muslim treasury is now getting rich.
[19:34]He's getting rich.
[19:36]Man comes he loves that of course he takes that money whatever
[19:39]is left over and he distributes it all to the banay.
[19:43]So the started taking all this money just like what we see
[19:45]today.
[19:45]Huh.
[19:46]You see sometimes people when they become in the position of leadership
[19:49]mashallah you know they come poor and then all of a sudden
[19:54]mashallah things will change after a little while.
[19:55]And even those who come rich, it's worth saying this.
[20:01]In the previous presidency of this current president, this current president of
[20:08]that country.
[20:10]Okay.
[20:11]Okay.
[20:10]In his previous presidency, not this one, okay?
[20:13]His previous one, it was in his final year in January and
[20:18]then November they held the elections.
[20:19]November they held the elections and he lost the elections in January
[20:24]in his final year.
[20:25]So he still had one more year to go, almost one more
[20:29]year to go.
[20:29]I was reading in the New York Times.
[20:31]They said in the New York Times, now the man is a
[20:36]billionaire.
[20:37]Okay?
[20:37]They said in the New York Times that since he became a
[20:40]president, you know, over the past three years, you know, being a
[20:45]president is a very stressful job.
[20:46]So he needs to relax a little bit.
[20:49]How does he relax?
[20:48]He goes golfing in his own golf club.
[20:52]But who pays for it?
[20:54]because he's the president of the United States.
[20:57]Who pays for it?
[20:57]The taxpayers pay for it.
[21:02]So far, the taxpayers have paid $100 million.
[21:05]$100 million for his golfing because he needs to relax.
[21:11]You know, being a president is really, you know, has a tax
[21:14]on you, you know.
[21:15]And who is it paid to?
[21:19]Where does he go golfing?
[21:22]You see brothers, the man is a billionaire and he's taking $100
[21:28]million extra.
[21:29]You see brothers and sisters, yesterday when I mentioned, you know, about
[21:32]cutting the hands of the thieves, you know, Islam, Islam has a
[21:37]there is a reason why Islam has this $100 million.
[21:41]How many homes can you have built to homeless people in America?
[21:46]Leave alone other countries in America itself.
[21:48]How many homeless people are in America?
[21:50]I was one day driving in America in Michigan in the state
[21:55]of Michigan and I saw a billboard.
[21:57]A billboard they said one in six American children sleep hungry.
[22:02]One in six American children sleep hungry.
[22:07]Can you imagine?
[22:08]Imagine how many hungry stomachs in America you could have filled with
[22:15]$100 million.
[22:15]Now you see why there are poor people in the world, brothers
[22:19]and sisters.
[22:21]And Imm Ali Alisam said it 1400 years ago.
[22:24]1400 years ago.
[22:24]He says, "You will not find a po a poor person, a
[22:28]hungry person, but except there is a rich man who has not
[22:30]paid his dues." Subhan Allah.
[22:33]He said it.
[22:35]Yes.
[22:35]When you have someone spending $100 million of taxpayer, spend it of
[22:39]your own money, of your own pocket, you subhan Allah.
[22:44]You see, so Benuaya came and they started doing the same thing.
[22:47]You know, take the money and give it to you know and
[22:52]his family members.
[22:52]So people became angry at him.
[22:57]People started speaking against him.
[22:59]Aisha started speaking against him.
[23:02]Finally they killed him.
[23:02]They came back to Imam and they said we want you to
[23:07]become the Khalifa.
[23:06]He said people if I become the I'm taking you back to
[23:10]the sunnah of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wal the same sunnah however
[23:14]people are not going to be happy with this there will be
[23:19]wars that will be fought we are with you we're with you
[23:23]whatever it is we are fed up so finally unanimously they all
[23:30]give the so he becomes the first day he becomes the he
[23:38]tells Omar, he says, "Amar, open up the Muslim treasury." Open it
[23:43]up.
[23:44]He says, "Distribute the money that's now accumulated in there.
[23:49]Distribute it.
[23:48]Each person should receive three golden coins." This is without him doing
[23:53]statistics, calculating how many people in the city of Medina, how much
[24:00]money there is.
[23:59]He told him, "Everyone, we need to distribute this money now.
[24:05]three dinars for every person.
[24:06]So people start lining up.
[24:07]Those people who used to receive the extra money like who he
[24:11]wants us to line up like the rest of these people.
[24:16]He wants to humiliate us.
[24:18]Ah so from there they started from that day they started.
[24:25]Okay.
[24:26]People stood they lined up everyone was given three dinars.
[24:29]Three golden coins.
[24:31]Three golden coins.
[24:31]Three golden.
[24:32]And just to give you a perspective, brothers and sisters, a sheep
[24:36]to buy a sheep was one silver coin, one silver coin to
[24:41]buy a sheep.
[24:43]A dinar, a gold coin is 10 silver coins.
[24:44]With one dinar, you buy 10 sheep.
[24:48]How much is a sheep today in the UK?
[24:50]I don't know.
[24:49]It's become expensive these days.
[24:51]A sheep is like you have to get a mortgage to buy
[24:54]a sheep these days.
[24:57]And you know what?
[24:57]300200 just to get one sheep, you know.
[25:00]So, so imagine each din now multiply by 10 each sheep if
[25:07]it's let's say 200 for example £2,000 so 6,000 that's the value
[25:11]of the din and that's a lot of money even in today's
[25:16]language imagine back then a din was big every person got three
[25:19]dinars and people were shocked because someone comes and he says you
[25:23]know this guy in front of me he was my slave yesterday
[25:27]I freed him yesterday you're giving giving him three dinars.
[25:29]You're giving me three dinars.
[25:33]How does that work?
[25:33]He says, he picks up two sand.
[25:35]He says, "Look at the sand and the sand.
[25:37]Is there a difference?" He says, "No." He says, "All of you
[25:42]are from Adam and Adam was created from sand." You freed him.
[25:46]He's equal to you now.
[25:49]He gets the same thing as you.
[25:50]That's it.
[25:49]So this is people were not happy with that.
[25:53]the justice of Ali Muhammad Muhammad but they could not criticize his
[26:05]justice until this day and age people love Im Ali because of
[26:08]his justice even if you look at George who's a Christian man
[26:14]he wrote the voice of human justice IM Ali Ali because he's
[26:17]mesmerized with Imam Ali's justice it's like how can you have such
[26:20]a just ruler and leader amazing Amazing.
[26:23]One of a kind only next to that's it.
[26:31]Okay.
[26:33]So people became angry.
[26:33]The news got to man was killed.
[26:37]She said alhamdulillah who became the khalifa after him.
[26:43]They said who?
[26:44]Who?
[26:47]She said man was killed unjustly.
[26:59]This is history brothers and sisters.
[27:03]This is our history and also they're not happy with the pay
[27:11]because now they're getting paid like everybody else.
[27:16]How could we get paid like everyone else?
[27:19]So they decided to plot and conspire.
[27:23]They came although they paid their allegiance to Im Ali as the
[27:27]Khalifa both of them but then they came to Im Ali Alisam
[27:32]and said yeah we want to go for Omrah.
[27:36]He says you don't want you want you want to betray but
[27:40]go.
[27:41]I know what you're pl what you're plotting.
[27:42]Okay.
[27:43]So they go and they start raising an army with Aisha and
[27:48]they all come to Basra.
[27:52]Why Bas?
[27:54]Because the governor of Basra was a governor of man.
[27:55]He was from um he told them come to Bas and I
[28:00]will wage an army for you guys against Ali.
[28:04]So I im Aliham Im Ali then when he hears of the
[28:16]news he tries to negotiate with them of two groups of come
[28:21]to fight.
[28:22]He tried to admonish them advise them people what you're doing is
[28:25]wrong.
[28:26]You pledged your allegiance to me.
[28:27]Why you're turning against me?
[28:29]You guys were the instigators against Oman.
[28:32]You guys were got the people to kill man.
[28:36]It wasn't me.
[28:36]But they said, "No, no, no, no.
[28:40]You are responsible for the killing of man.
[28:40]It's all your fault." And so they come to Basra.
[28:45]Im Ali.
[28:47]Sends his son Al Hass with Omar.
[28:50]Why Omar?
[28:51]Because I im Hassan was young at the time.
[28:56]Omar was older and he had a big reputation as the the
[28:59]companion of Sah.
[29:02]Everyone knew Omar Omar was well known.
[29:05]So he they go to Kufa.
[29:06]They go to Kufa and they start basically admonishing the people of
[29:13]Kufa to come and support im.
[29:14]So the people of Kufa then come to support imam.
[29:18]So it was Imam Ali with the people of Kufa and the
[29:23]people of J with the people of Basra.
[29:26]The majority of the people in Basra were against Im Ali Ali.
[29:28]So then I im Ali tried to admonish these people.
[29:34]He goes to Zuber before the battle begins.
[29:37]He says Zuber you are my cousin because Zuber was the son
[29:41]of Safia.
[29:42]Safi is the aunt of Sah.
[29:43]She's the aunt of and she's buried in we do her Zara.
[29:51]When we go to Bak we read the Z of Safy Safy
[29:52]to Abdib.
[29:54]So he was the cousin of Im Ali.
[29:59]He tells him, "Zuber, Zuber, do you remember the day when you
[30:02]were walking with Allah Sah and I come from a distance and
[30:07]you look at the prophet and you say, "Yeah, look at the
[30:09]way Ali walks." He walks with arrogance, with pride.
[30:13]He told you no, he's walking with with honor.
[30:18]And honor is for Allah, his messenger, and the believers.
[30:25]And he is a mman.
[30:26]And Yazuber, one day you will be fighting against him and you
[30:33]will be oppressing him.
[30:33]You'll be unjust.
[30:35]Do you remember that Yazuber?
[30:40]Zuber paused for a second and he said, "Yes, I remember.
[30:42]I had forgotten about this incident, but now because of what you
[30:46]just reminded me, I cannot fight you anymore." He says, "Okay, then
[30:52]come and join me.
[30:52]go tell the people that we cannot fight Ali.
[30:56]Let's not shed the blood of the Muslims.
[30:59]He says, "No, I will not do that." Why, brothers and sisters?
[31:05]Because Zuber had a son by the name of Abdullah.
[31:09]Abdullahn Zuber.
[31:09]He was a wicked son.
[31:14]Im Ali saysdah was of us.
[31:25]Imagine how close he was of us until his wicked son Abdullah
[31:34]grew up.
[31:34]It's okay to love your children.
[31:37]It's normal to love the children.
[31:38]We all love our children.
[31:38]but not to the point where they deviate you from the h.
[31:43]Brothers and sisters, when you see your son mistreating his wife, don't
[31:48]side with your son because he's your son.
[31:51]When you see your daughter mistreating her husband, don't side with your
[31:55]daughter just because she's your daughter.
[31:57]Look at the truth.
[31:58]Where is the huck?
[32:00]And that's where a lot of people fail.
[32:02]People say, "My son, no, he's always huck.
[32:04]My daughter, she's always right." and problems start to arise and disagreement.
[32:09]Sometimes it's taken to courts to resolve all these issues and problems.
[32:13]When if the parents come and are fair when they deal with
[32:16]the situation and are wise, they try to settle this issue and
[32:22]they try to resolve it.
[32:22]So be fair.
[32:24]Even if it's your own son or daughter, brothers and sisters, if
[32:27]he is right, you stay with him.
[32:29]But if he's wrong, you tell him you're wrong and you go
[32:34]with the other party.
[32:34]Even if he's your daughter, she's your daughter or he's your son.
[32:39]See brothers and sisters because otherwise the consequences are huge.
[32:46]Here turned his father Zuber who was of us against Imam.
[32:51]Can you imagine?
[32:54]Zuber says I'm just going to withdraw from the battle.
[32:58]He just withdraws from the he does not join the im.
[33:01]He just goes away.
[33:01]And then one day a man sees him in the desert.
[33:05]He says this is the guy who instigated all these fitna all
[33:08]these challenges all because of him.
[33:11]So while he was praying the man comes and cuts his head
[33:13]off.
[33:14]So he gets killed.
[33:14]Zuber gets killed and he brings his head to Im Ali and
[33:18]says here see I killed him.
[33:19]This is the guy who started all this mess.
[33:22]Im Ali Alisam looks at him and says told me to tell
[33:28]the killer of the son of Safi to kill to tell him
[33:33]that he's of the people of Jah.
[33:35]Why?
[33:35]Because he became among the later he became among the man who
[33:43]killed Zuber.
[33:40]He fought against Im Ali and okay so you see brothers and
[33:48]sisters unfortunately I im Ali tried he tried he tried let's not
[33:52]fight try to reconciliate between them.
[34:04]If they don't accept and they fight, then fight against the aggressors.
[34:10]Fight against the aggressors until they come back to the path of
[34:14]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[34:14]And that's why they asked im Ali Alisam, they said, "What shall
[34:19]we call those people in J?
[34:20]Should we call them kufur?
[34:21]He said no they're not kufur hypocrites.
[34:24]No, no.
[34:25]Then who are they?
[34:25]He said they're our brothers, but they have transgressed against us.
[34:31]So we fought them.
[34:32]That's Subhan Allah.
[34:35]Look at how great this man is.
[34:36]And that's why he tells the Muslims then they fought.
[34:37]Unfortunately, they fight the battle.
[34:39]20,000 Muslims get killed in the battle of Al Jamil.
[34:47]20,000.
[34:45]And Imm Ali's army wins.
[34:48]Muhammad Ib Abi Bakr was with Imam Ali against his own sister.
[34:51]When the battle ends, Talha gets killed in the battle.
[34:56]Marwan and those guys, they run away and hide in someone's home.
[35:02]This lady, this lady whom house they they ran into.
[35:06]She starts criticizing Imm Ali after the battle.
[35:08]She's going, "You are the one who killed the Muslims.
[35:11]You're this and that." Subhan Allah.
[35:12]He looks at her.
[35:14]He says, "If I was truly the way the man that you're
[35:16]describing, I would be coming after the people hiding in your house
[35:19]right now.
[35:20]I would not let them hide in your house because she was
[35:23]taking Marwan and Benya, some of them in her house." He says,
[35:29]"Tell us, let them go." And he tells his army, the army
[35:31]says, "Shall we take any prisoners, any booty?" He says, "Nope, you
[35:37]don't touch anything.
[35:37]This all belongs back to the people." He tells Muhammad Ibin Abi
[35:41]Becker, "Go check your sister." He they check her sister.
[35:46]He says, "She's fine.
[35:46]Only one arrow pierced her dress, but she's okay.
[35:50]Nothing has hurt her." He said, "Okay." Imm says because she was
[35:53]riding a camel.
[35:55]His name was Askar, the camel of Aisha.
[35:58]He says, "Kill the camel because it's a shaitan." So they kill
[36:01]the camel.
[36:03]And he tells 40 women dress up as men and take Aisha
[36:10]with all dignity and respect back to Medina.
[36:12]So they take her back to Medina.
[36:14]On her way back to Medina she is saying what is this?
[36:16]He sent me with 40 men.
[36:21]He has exposed that the the wife of as if it is
[36:24]when she came when she came she came with all these men.
[36:28]It was okay.
[36:27]But now that he's sending her back no it's not okay.
[36:32]When they arrived there, those women take off took off their garments
[36:35]and they said, "We are women actually.
[36:37]We're not men." So the whole time you were accusing of breaking
[36:42]the sanctity of and this and this.
[36:45]This is how much he cares for you.
[36:47]So then the battle of Jal took place and it ended.
[36:53]Imm Ali then changed the position of from Medina to where?
[36:56]To Kufa.
[36:57]He comes to Kufa.
[37:00]Now that's when he moves to Kufa after the battle of Al
[37:04]Juy says oh great the people of Al and Zuber fought against
[37:09]Im Ali because they were seeking the blood of man but he
[37:15]killed them.
[37:16]He killed the Sahab and therefore I should really take my revenge.
[37:20]It gave him legitimacy to fight against Im Ali and if it
[37:25]weren't for Ju would not have happened.
[37:29]But because of J, it gave Muawi the legitimacy that I need
[37:32]to avenge the death of.
[37:35]So he then raises the war against Im Ali in the battle
[37:37]of Sufi.
[37:39]And there many of the companions of Im Ali Alisam get killed
[37:43]gets killed.
[37:45]Ai gets killed.
[37:49]Hashim gets killed.
[37:49]Many many of his true dear companions get killed and that's why
[37:53]towards the end of his life he stands on the member and
[37:58]he holds on his beard and he cries and he says where
[38:02]is Omar where is where is where are those people who were
[38:12]sincere sincere in understanding the Quran and they fought he says oh
[38:15]and then he starts crying and this was about a week before
[38:19]his martiam Because people then became tired.
[38:23]They got tired.
[38:23]So he would tell them we need to finish the war against
[38:27]Muawia this people said no no no let's wait it's too hot
[38:29]it's too cold this that.
[38:33]So unfortunately then in the battle of Muawa plays a trick as
[38:37]he starts to get losing to starts losing.
[38:39]He tells what shall we do?
[38:41]He says put the Quran on the spears and say let's judge
[38:45]by the Quran.
[38:44]Let's judge by the Quran.
[38:47]We are all Muslims.
[38:47]We're all Muslims.
[38:50]So the army of Im Ali Alisam splits.
[38:53]Some of them tell him they're Muslims.
[38:55]So we should judge them by the Quran.
[38:57]Im Ali Alisam says this is a trick.
[38:59]Don't be fooled.
[38:58]Continue the war.
[39:01]They said, "Huh?
[39:01]You're a kafir." And that's when the split they split and they
[39:09]start calling him a They said to him, "No, they're Muslims.
[39:12]Let's have a treaty.
[39:14]Let's make a treaty with them." He says they're not the people
[39:17]of treaty.
[39:18]Don't listen to them.
[39:19]No, no, no.
[39:20]We have to have a treaty.
[39:21]Okay.
[39:21]Well, who do they appoint?
[39:24]They appoint.
[39:23]He says he will be the representative of Muawia's side.
[39:29]A very cunning man.
[39:29]Very cunning.
[39:30]So, Imam Ali says, "Okay, then appoint Abdullah Abbas.
[39:33]Abdah Abbas will be good, a good match." No, no, no, no.
[39:38]We don't want Abdullah Abbas.
[39:38]We want Abu Mus Ali.
[39:42]Abu Mus is not very naive.
[39:43]He's not fit.
[39:45]He should not be the one to discuss with no no we
[39:47]want him.
[39:48]So they go ask fools fools him.
[39:51]He says listen Ali and they're all fighting and you know we're
[39:58]getting tired of them.
[39:57]How about we say both of them are wrong.
[40:00]You say I don't want Ali and I say I don't want
[40:05]Muawas and let's get somebody else in position.
[40:08]They say okay.
[40:08]Yeah.
[40:08]Yeah.
[40:09]I like that idea.
[40:11]So they go in front of the people on the day when
[40:13]they're about to release their decision.
[40:15]Says, "Yeah, you're older than me.
[40:18]Please go up.
[40:19]You know, you're you're an older man.
[40:21]You're a companion of Ali." So you speak first.
[40:24]So Abu Mus comes up and says, "Thank you.
[40:28]Thank you." Uh people were tired of Muawi and Ali.
[40:32]and I take like I take this ring off my hand or
[40:39]I take this im off my head and he comes down gets
[40:41]up.
[40:42]He says, "You guys heard what Abu Mus said.
[40:45]He represents Ali.
[40:48]I put Muawi in the position like I put this ring in
[40:50]my hand and I put Muawa like I put this imama over
[40:54]my head.
[40:55]So Muawia should be the leader now.
[40:58]And then huge uproar erupts and then people those kawal who forced
[41:01]Im Ali to stop the war in they turn to Im Ali
[41:06]says why did you accept this treaty and this whole agreement and
[41:08]Abu Mus he said I didn't accept anyone you guys forced me
[41:11]to do this I was against it all along they said no
[41:15]no no you made a big mistake you need to do tba
[41:19]you were kafir you became a kafir but you need to do
[41:20]tba you need to ask Allah for forgiveness and will forgive you
[41:23]he said I'm not going to ask for any forgiveness I didn't
[41:26]do wrong.
[41:27]I am I am I don't I'm not going to do this.
[41:34]You're not going to do this.
[41:35]No, we warn you.
[41:34]Do whatever.
[41:36]He's kafir.
[41:38]Let's kill him.
[41:37]And that's how the then broke off.
[41:41]And they started calling him imi became a he's giving on the
[41:50]pulpit in Kufur.
[41:52]And one of those guys gets up.
[41:54]He says, "Wow, this kafir is very knowledgeable." No, he he has
[41:56]a lot of knowledge, but he's kafir.
[41:57]So they fight against him in the battle of Naharawan.
[42:01]They fight against him in the battle of Naharawan.
[42:04]This they start killing his governor in Basra.
[42:08]The his the wife of the governor of Basra was pregnant.
[42:14]They kill her and they open up her stomach.
[42:15]They take out the baby and they kill the baby as well.
[42:19]What kind of people there were?
[42:24]Yeah.
[42:22]The same kind of people we see today.
[42:25]How vicious they are.
[42:28]Subhan Allah.
[42:27]These were the And those people used to recite the Quran and
[42:33]read the Quran and pray.
[42:33]One day Kum was walking with Im Ali Alisam.
[42:37]He says, "I was walking with Im Ali Alisam at night and
[42:42]we hear some beautiful voice reciting the Quran." So I stopped to
[42:46]listen.
[42:47]Imam Ali Alisam looks at me and says Kum don't be fooled.
[42:50]This guy is one of the people of Jahannam.
[42:52]I said subhan Allah.
[42:54]This beautiful voice reading the Quran is going to Jannam.
[42:57]But I did not question Im Ali.
[43:02]So we go after the battle of against the im Ali comes
[43:07]to me.
[43:09]and he says come and he points at someone who was killed
[43:12]from the he says this is the guy who used to recite
[43:17]the Quran in the middle of the night look he came to
[43:19]fight against us he came to fight the Imam of his time
[43:24]but you see brothers and sisters I im Ali's heart was full
[43:29]of pain from these people when you hear about it right now
[43:32]I see some shaking their heads and really is that what happened
[43:37]in history.
[43:37]Yes.
[43:37]Imagine you were living at that time.
[43:39]How would you feel?
[43:42]And you see this in front of your eyes.
[43:43]This Im Ali was so merciful, so kind, so great.
[43:50]Be careful.
[43:52]Let me tell you something.
[43:52]We do not want to be like Zuber.
[43:58]Be careful.
[43:56]Don't say I am alhamdulillah.
[43:58]Zuber was a But then what happened to him?
[44:06]So we need to be careful.
[44:06]Always we say don't deviate our hearts after you guided us.
[44:18]Always be respectful and kind to the brothers and sisters.
[44:25]Don't humiliate a mu because if you do Allah subhana t may
[44:27]turn you away from the religion.
[44:28]You never know this m that you're humiliating his status before Allah.
[44:32]what status he has before Allah and so that could be a
[44:38]cause.
[44:38]So that's why be very careful when you talk to when you
[44:40]talk to your husband your wife your children your siblings the in
[44:46]the community let's make sure we always are kind respectful polite so
[44:51]that Allah inshallah keeps us on the if two groups of fight
[44:58]then try to reconciliate between them but if one transgresses against the
[45:03]other then fight the transgressors until they go back to the path
[45:08]of Allah and then Allah subhana wa ta says be just Allah
[45:14]loves those who are just Allah loves those who are just are
[45:17]fair and that's why because of this justice of Im Ali Alisam
[45:21]although it turned people against Im Ali but it made people love
[45:29]Im Ali because no one can criticize his justice they disagreed with
[45:34]it they did not like it Even Muawi did not like it.
[45:40]But Muawi also had respect.
[45:40]He knew.
[45:41]He knew I im Ali was h.
[45:43]It is said one day a man comes deflects from Imam Ali's
[45:48]side to Muawi.
[45:47]And Muawi says where did you come from?
[45:50]He says I deflected from the stingiest of the people and the
[45:56]the the the the least outspoken of the people.
[45:58]Mahawi says who?
[46:01]He says he says what does not know how to speak.
[46:07]He is the one who established established the conversation and the rules
[46:13]of speech for this is he is the master of eloquence and
[46:17]is stingy.
[46:18]If had two homes one is of gold other one is made
[46:24]of hay he would donate the one out of gold before donating
[46:26]the one out of hay.
[46:30]That's how generous Ali is.
[46:31]Get out.
[46:33]Even Muawia, you know, became angry at this man.
[46:37]So sometimes sometimes although Muawi was but at times he would say
[46:42]the he would say the about imbal not that because he's a
[46:45]good man but because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala makes the enemies of
[46:50]speak the truth about the So this is man.
[46:57]This is Ali.
[47:00]But where is Ali on this night?
[47:01]This is a great man.
[47:05]Now you understand why the city of Kufa is in tears on
[47:09]this night.
[47:09]The orphans they heard that Ali Abi Talib cannot eat.
[47:15]He only drinks milk.
[47:16]So they bring some milk and they gather behind the door of
[47:21]Im Ali and say this is for our father.
[47:24]He used to take care of us.
[47:29]One day they gifted honey to Im Ali.
[47:31]He brought the honey.
[47:34]He turned to one of his companions.
[47:36]He says, "Gather all the orphans in Kufa." They gather the orphans.
