[1:01]Surah number thirty-one in the Quran.
[1:08]is known as a wise person who Allah subhanahu WA Ta'ala has
[1:13]given the heck and the wisdom.
[1:17]and Allah subhanahu WA Ta'ala discusses some of the admonishing that.
[1:25]the wise man he gives his own son.
[1:31]So look.
[1:30]Is speaking to her son and the Hadith says that was not
[1:37]a prophet Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala gave him the option if he
[1:40]wants to be a prophet or not, and he chose not to
[1:46]be a prophet because being a prophet has responsibilities has duties and
[1:50]Allah did not force him to become a prophet Allah did not
[1:53]make him become a prophet so he chose to not take the
[1:58]role of Prophet hood, but he receives the and the praise.
[2:03]And the hema of someone who is a prophet so Allah subhanahu
[2:08]WA Ta'ala describes in the Quran some of the diminish some of
[2:11]the wisdoms, Allah says.
[2:23]We gave the wisdom what does wisdom mean here?
[3:36]You don't find it you don't find the parents admonishing their sons
[3:42]admonishing their children the way they're supposed to today some parents, they
[3:46]say no.
[3:47]why should I tell my son Ahmad?
[3:49]Why should I tell my son to pray?
[3:51]Why should I tell my son to do this and that they
[3:53]don't want to because it's convenient for them to just let their
[3:58]children do whatever they want and you also have some of the
[4:02]sons and daughters that when sometimes their parents they come to them
[4:08]and they tell them.
[4:08]This is wrong, You have to do this in this way you
[4:12]have to do that in that way they don't accept the admonish
[4:16]so from both sides you find that there's you find that there's
[4:20]shortcoming the parents.
[4:20]they're not admonishing because the parents are not even in the lives
[4:24]of their children.
[4:26]They don't even know what's going on with their sons or daughters
[4:28]and their children.
[4:32]the teenagers or those who are the sons and the daughters they
[4:36]refuse to accept the they refuse to accept the admonish Allah.
[4:40]Shows us the role of the parent and especially the role of
[4:45]the father here.
[4:47]is the father and the parent has to always give more of
[4:51]a some people they say.
[4:52]I'm a good father.
[4:53]I'm a good mother because I bought my I bought my son
[4:56]$100 shoes.
[4:57]I put them in the best school I paid for this I
[5:00]paid for their for this school here.
[5:04]they their tuition.
[5:05]Yes, that is a sign of being a good parent but being
[5:10]a good parent is the parent who is vigilant a parent who's
[5:13]careful about the future of.
[5:16]Their children and we're not only talking about near future the future
[5:22]in this dunya we're talking about future of the.
[5:25]Can you make sure that the day you leave this life the
[5:29]day that you die that you have passed on the faith to
[5:32]your children that your children know their prayer know their know their
[5:36]Islam and their quran.
[5:37]some parents they don't can't.
[5:39]They can't guarantee that so here he gives advice to his son,
[5:46]he tells.
[5:54]Oh, my dear son Don't associate a partner with God because that
[5:59]is the greatest act of volume.
[6:01]That is the greatest act of oppression.
[6:05]Is when you do not give God his rights, God is the
[6:10]one who created you God is the one who gave you everything
[6:14]you have, but you go and worship someone else's.
[6:16]and then Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala moves on to talk about the
[6:23]parents.
[7:39]Having this disease, if someone has this disease, that is the cause
[7:46]and the root of all problems in life, what is that?
[7:51]that is?
[7:56]arrogance arrogance and pride?
[7:58]Islam stands against arrogance and in fact someone who's.
[8:04]someone who's great.
[8:06]What is it?
[8:08]What does this person think this person thinks they are greater than
[8:12]anyone else greater than taking advice?
[8:13]you come in.
[8:15]you want to give this person advice they don't listen you come
[8:17]and you want to tell this person.
[8:20]This is wrong.
[8:20]They don't listen.
[8:21]They're not humble.
[8:22]They think they're bigger than everyone, but this is this is a
[8:28]problem.
[8:25]Why because the Who who is the one who's the Kabir?
[9:02]Will begin to live a miserable life well, they were what they
[9:07]will destroy their own life because sometimes you see someone doing something
[9:13]wrong, you come and you tell this person but there are people
[9:16]they come and they say thank you for teaching me.
[9:18]Thank you you for telling me.
[9:20]thank you for guiding me.
[9:21]Thank you for admonishing me.
[9:23]This is good a good habit to have but then there's other
[9:27]people anyone who comes and tells them this is what you're doing
[9:31]wrong.
[9:32]This is immoral this goes against.
[9:33]This goes against common sense this goes against teachings and principles and
[9:39]values, but they say no my choice.
[9:42]my life.
[9:43]I make my own decisions in life.
[9:44]This is.
[9:45]this is arrogance and pride.
[9:48]You know who was the first who committed the sin.
[9:56]a Bliss Shay Shay was a worshiper shayan used to I used
[10:00]to worship he was from He was a gin who had entered
[10:05]himself from amongst the Angels so Allah.
[10:07]When he created Adam, he tells them.
[10:19]when I create him.
[10:22]bow and do to him now this we don't do to people
[10:26]we do to Allah.
[10:30]This was a SU to God but Allah tells them do it
[10:35]where Ibrahim is where where Adam is your.
[10:40]Adam the first creation.
[11:11]Person now this is something that.
[11:15]happened before and it still happens today today you find the person
[11:21]who's white.
[11:21]they say I'm better than the one who's black the person who's
[11:25]lighter skin.
[11:26]They say I'm better than the one who's darker skinned the one
[11:30]who has this passport, They say I'm better than the one who
[11:34]has that passport the one who is from one religion they come
[11:37]and they say I'm better than the one who's from the other.
[11:40]Right now this whole issue of Jerusalem and Palestine.
[11:44]why because one group of people they come and they say we
[11:48]are God's chosen people.
[11:50]We are chosen by God There's no other foundation.
[11:52]nothing else that comes and says you belong in this land.
[11:56]in fact, even scientifically they come.
[11:59]and they say that we are the oldest people in this land.
[12:03]No there were people before you before.
[12:05]that lived in land of Jerusalem before you do they come and.
[12:11]We were here first, No why don't you make it a land
[12:14]that everyone lives in peace with one another everyone lives in harmony
[12:17]with one another.
[12:19]Why is it that one group of people has to live in
[12:22]peace while the other people they're living under a apartheid and they
[12:28]are suffering and they're living as second or third or fourth class
[12:30]citizens.
[12:31]Why?
[12:32]it all goes back to it all goes back to arrogance it
[12:36]all goes back to pride when one group of people they see
[12:40]that they are God's chosen people in Islam, we don't have.
[12:45]In Islam, and all the best in the eyes of God is
[12:50]the one who has the most piety the one who has the
[12:55]most faith the one who has the most.
[12:58]that is the best person in the eyes of Allah.
[13:00]WA ta'ala but people who refuse to live with this rule this
[13:05]rule of Allah Subhanahu WA ta'ala this rule of equality and equity
[13:12]Then they go and they resort to arrogance and pride and that
[13:13]leads to problems that leads to war that leads to that leads
[13:18]to.
[13:19]That leads to economic instability where one group of people they are
[13:25]wealthy one group of people.
[13:27]they're comfortable one group of people.
[13:29]they're healthy, they have access to all of the world's resources and
[13:33]another group they have nothing.
[13:35]They have nothing is this fair.
[13:39]This is not fair but the ones who have arrogance and pride.
[13:43]they say no I deserve to live comfortable and even if it's
[13:48]at the expense of other people.
[13:49]this is.
[13:51]This is something that the religion of Islam stands against and the
[13:57]root of this problem.
[13:57]Is.
[13:58]the root of this problem?
[14:01]The roots of greed?
[14:02]Why are some people greedy and stingy and they like to just
[14:06]hold on for themselves.
[14:10]Greed is a side effect of.
[14:13]the original problem is arrogance when you regard yourself better than anyone
[14:17]else Racism racism is a side effect of arrogance.
[14:20]racism is a problem.
[14:23]It's a disease, the roots of is arrogance.
[14:26]Allah to Allah someone who's someone who breaks the boundaries of Allah.
[14:33]This is a problem, but the roots of it is arrogance why
[14:39]because you say, God tells me what to do?
[14:41]Yeah, but I tell myself what to do.
[14:43]I don't need God to tell me what to do why should
[14:45]I live?
[14:46]according to God's rules?
[14:48]Let me live with my own rule people.
[14:53]who.
[14:57]therefore, I have the right to take something that.
[15:02]There's and I take it for myself so here.
[15:05]He is teaching his son.
[15:10]He's telling his son.
[15:14]he says.
[15:21]And then he tells him in verse eighteen.
[16:12]Humble yourself.
[16:14]Allah says so for some people, especially, for example for your parents.
[16:22]lower yourself, humble yourself.
[16:28]don't raise your face raise your cheeks to people.
[16:35]and do not walk in the.
[17:47]I'm just having that in my mind, this is my attitude and.
[17:52]is when that feeling is reflected into action.
[17:58]That's that's when you come and you say you know I did
[18:01]this.
[18:02]I achieved this.
[18:02]I gave this much donation.
[18:03]I prayed this much.
[18:06]I achieved this.
[18:06]I'm better than this.
[18:07]I'm that's when you start talking about it and typically when you
[18:11]have a feeling in your heart, you start displaying it in your
[18:14]actions in your tongue in your words in your hands in your
[18:18]eyes in your gestures, you start displaying it to other people.
[18:22]Allah Subhanahu, WA, Ta'ala, says Allah does not like the one who
[18:31]is mortal and and then he tells him.
[18:42]and lower lower.
[18:48]the way you walk.
[18:49]you know an arrogant person you you you could tell that this
[18:53]person's arrogant just by the way they walk some people when they're
[18:55]arrogant.
[18:55]They're walking and they have their head up and they're very proud
[19:00]they don't care about anyone around them, Allah says.
[19:03]No.
[19:04]no no when you walk be humble, even when you walk, this
[19:09]is the walk of the prophets.
[19:11]This is the walk of the Ims.
[19:15]was the greatest.
[19:18]person to set foot on this earth.
[19:21]was humble Rasulullah would look down Rasulullah would go to the the
[19:24]lowest of.
[19:26]People who are poor people who didn't have anything they didn't feel
[19:31]that was looking down at them.
[19:33]They felt that was respecting them.
[19:35]He would go and sit with them He would go and be
[19:38]with them.
[19:40]Same with Amir a have never thought same with all of the
[19:44]Ims but you find some people when they have money when they
[19:47]have power, they don't even look at the poor people anymore.
[19:50]They don't even look at the people who don't have name and
[19:55]power or anything.
[19:55]That's it.
[19:57]They're out of your league you.
[19:59]I saw there.
[19:59]there was a man, he says.
[20:01]I had a friend.
[20:04]He was with me and we were always together and this person
[20:07]He wasn't even doing so well, so sometimes I would help him
[20:11]out.
[20:10]then the fall of Saddam took place in Iraq and that man
[20:16]who was not doing so well he ended up becoming in the
[20:20]government and the government in Iraq he says.
[20:22]Now I call him He doesn't even answer me, he says.
[20:27]Who are you who are you now?
[20:29]He doesn't even know me anymore.
[20:30]why because he got some power because he got some money thinking
[20:35]that that power and that money is going to give him real
[20:38]recognition.
[20:39]It's nothing you have a little bit of money in this life
[20:42]at the end of the day you both the rich and the
[20:45]poor are taken to a hole in the ground the grave and
[20:49]the ground, the one who has power or the one who doesn't
[20:52]have power.
[20:52]They're both taken to a grave and and grave does not discriminate.
[20:55]The grave is the same for everyone.
[20:58]The is the same for everyone.
[21:00]It's all.
[21:01]But some people because they have a little bit they start walking
[21:06]with pride so Allah says in the Quran.
[21:12]and lower your voice as well.
[21:21]and the worst of voices is the voice of the or the
[21:26]voice of the donkey and here this is not an insult to
[21:30]the donkey.
[21:32]This is an insult.
[21:32]Who who says certain things that they don't know what they're saying
[21:37]some people they just have to see people talking and they just
[21:39]have to say something they just have to talk They just have
[21:43]to speak they have to yell.
[21:45]They think that with yelling, then they're going to be right The
[21:47]loudest person in the room is you know is the one who
[21:53]wins the argument.
[21:53]but that's not the that's not the you know the key to
[21:59]success.
[22:00]so here.
[22:03]Wa Ta'ala is teaching us a lesson.
[22:04]through the advice of to his son.
[22:08]and this advice is a very important advice for all of us
[22:14]We have to humble ourselves we have take out the arrogance and
[22:20]the pride from our hearts.
[22:25]he says.
[22:32]if someone.
[24:08]Of weakness, according to the Hadith of Imam, a weakness that people
[24:14]have so we have to be very careful.
[24:17]We have to remove that weakness and we have to remove all
[24:21]of the all of the side effects of as we mentioned some
[24:26]of the side effects are racism prejudice sinning lying cheating looking down
[24:34]at other people.
[24:34]These are all side effects and results of.
[24:39]We ask Allah Subhanahu WA ta'ala to make us from those who
[24:46]purify their hearts and remove the arrogance and the pride from their
[24:50]hearts.
[24:53]Muhammad.
[24:56]Assalamu alaikum.
