[0:00]Allah foreign foreign foreign foreign respected brothers and sisters these days the
[2:29]end of the month of Safar the second Islamic month we commemorate
[2:36]the departure anniversary and the martyrdom anniversary of our holy prophet Muhammad
[2:43]who is according to narrations he passed away on the 28th of
[2:52]the month of Safar in the year 11 after hijrah 11 years
[2:57]after the migration the Hijra of rasulullah at the age of 63
[3:07]at the young age of 63 rasulullah left this world and in
[3:14]fact this was also the age that was struck on and killed
[3:19]at the age of 63.
[3:21]of course rasulullah he is the final of the hundred and twenty
[3:30]four thousand prophets and Messengers he is the Seal of The Messengers
[3:35]and he is the most successful of The Messengers where he was
[3:42]able to accomplish and he was able to achieve that which other
[3:46]prophets before him did not achieve he was able within a span
[3:54]of 23 years only within a span of 23 years he was
[3:56]able to change all of society and this is why rasulullah has
[4:04]considered to be by non-muslim historians by non-muslims considered to be the
[4:13]most influential person that has lived there is a famous historian by
[4:18]the name of Michael Hart and he wrote a book named The
[4:24]Hundred most influential persons and he chose number one to be rasulullah
[4:30]some people they objected to him then many years later he he
[4:37]made some revisions him chained he removed some names and added some
[4:41]names but he kept rasulullah is number one and he writes why
[4:45]he says I kept him as the number one most influential person
[4:49]because he was supremely successful in both Realms in the religious realm
[4:58]and in the non-religious realm because rasulullah was not just a messenger
[5:03]of God who brought spirituality to people but he was a person
[5:08]who started a nation he became the head of government and he
[5:11]established a military and he was successful in everything that he did
[5:19]now unfortunately many Muslims during the time of the Prophet did not
[5:26]know and truly appreciate the prophets and until today many of us
[5:31]do not really know who rasulullah is you ask some Muslims tell
[5:34]me a few things about rasulullah and many are not very familiar
[5:45]and sometimes you hear about all of this islamophobia you hear about
[5:50]all of this misinformation about rasulullah most of that goes back to
[6:00]the Muslims not being familiar with the prophets or misrepresenting to the
[6:05]world today some people they say some bad things about rasulullah not
[6:09]because of who rasulullah was as a person but because they saw
[6:15]some Muslims doing some things that are inappropriate things that are wrong
[6:19]things that are oppressive things that are inhumane and go against the
[6:24]teachings of Islam and the teachings of the Quran this is why
[6:27]my dear brothers and sisters we need to familiarize ourselves with the
[6:34]life of rasulullah if we want to be good Muslims we need
[6:38]to study the life of rasulullah in detail we need to know
[6:44]more about the life of this great man how many of us
[6:46]know about the life of our Prophet I sometimes you know I
[6:51]see some of the youth or some of the adults they know
[6:53]more it's funny but it's not that funny actually we know more
[7:00]about the lives of actors and actresses and politicians and athletes you
[7:05]know there are some some of the youth they'll tell you exactly
[7:11]how many goals Messi has scored exactly how many um assists Michael
[7:15]Jordan and LeBron James and Co all of these individuals they know
[7:18]everything about them how many points they scored but we don't know
[7:22]much about the life of rasulullah so we need to study the
[7:27]life of the prophet and when we know the life of rasulullah
[7:30]then we will be able to represent rasulullah then we will be
[7:34]able to show the true image of rasulullah to the world the
[7:42]Quran describes him hasana and rasulullah you have the best role model
[7:55]meaning life follow him if it's business look at him how he
[8:00]was a businessman rasulullah was a very successful businessman look at him
[8:04]when it comes to family look at him when it comes to
[8:08]compassion look at him when it comes to dealing with the neighbors
[8:09]when it comes to dealing with everyone was the best role model
[8:19]now how can we understand the life of the prophets what is
[8:23]the best way to learn about the life of rasulullah there are
[8:27]many ways there are many historians they've written books about the life
[8:32]of rasulullah they've written about the seera the seera when they say
[8:37]sira that defines as the traditions and the life of rasulullah however
[8:42]perhaps from the best ways to learn about rasulullah is to look
[8:48]at the Quran what does the Quran say about rasulullah the Quran
[8:53]has a lot of verses that talk about rasulullah and describe rasulullah
[8:58]as a person what kind of a person he was the characteristics
[9:03]and the qualities and some of the positions and ranks that he
[9:07]has here one verse Allah describes him Allah says the Quran says
[9:22]answer the call of God and the messenger of God for he
[9:29]has brought you a message of life and this is what Islam
[9:31]is my dear brothers and sisters through Islam Islam is the package
[9:38]that God has given every single one of us that through that
[9:41]package if we accept it we will live a quality life we
[9:47]will live a complete life if we truly fulfill the orders of
[9:51]God and the ways and the traditions of Allah in one verse
[9:58]Allah says meaning the signs of the prophets his characteristics and his
[10:13]qualities they're mentioned in the tauratan and the angel and this is
[10:17]why the Christians and the Jews during the time of the Prophet
[10:19]they knew exactly that he was a prophet they knew his signs
[10:25]in another verse Allah says they know the signs of rasulullah the
[10:34]same way they know their own children because the taurat and the
[10:39]angel were filled with many descriptions of rasulullah what are some of
[10:45]the descriptions of rasulullah that were in the Bible now the Bible
[10:47]today has gone through Fabrications and it's gone through changes but the
[10:52]original Bible had signs of the prophet in one verse the Quran
[10:56]says his name is Ahmed that is mentioned in the bible now
[11:02]can you find it today in the Bible perhaps not because the
[11:07]Bible has gone through many changes but some of the signs he's
[11:11]a man who enjoins the good and forbids the evil Hello one
[11:24]of the things that rasulullah did is that he made that which
[11:29]is healthy that which is good he made a halal and that
[11:35]which is that which is filthy that which is wrong what are
[11:40]some things what are some things that are Haram for Muslims gambling
[11:44]is Haram drinking is Haram eating pork is Haram drinking blood having
[11:50]relationships out of wedlock out of marriage these are common sense tells
[11:55]you these are wrong things and this is what Islam comes and
[11:59]makes Haram Islam did not make something that is good for us
[12:02]Haram upon us that which is good for us Islam has allowed
[12:07]it and then he removes the burdens the burdens some some cultures
[12:20]they add their own burdens upon themselves that is that he is
[12:32]described as a witness and as a giver of good news and
[12:36]as a Warner Allah says o messenger oh Prophet we have sent
[13:03]you a witness we believe that rasulullah is a witness upon us
[13:06]and we believe that the prophet sees everything that we do and
[13:11]the Quran says this is in another verse in the Quran do
[13:17]good deeds God sees your actions the prophets and the Believers so
[13:23]he's a Shahid he's a Shahid and in fact he is not
[13:32]only a Shahid he's not only a witness upon us the Quran
[13:35]describes him as a witness upon previous communities a witness upon other
[13:41]prophets and other communities Allah says the Quran says we will bring
[13:56]from every ummah we will bring a Shaheed from every ummah we
[13:58]will bring a witness the prophets meaning Musa is a witness upon
[14:01]his people Isa is a witness upon his people Noah is a
[14:06]witness upon his people when because you are the final and the
[14:15]Seal of The Messengers you're a witness upon all of the creation
[14:18]so this is you're a witness one of the jobs of the
[14:27]prophets and one of the job of rasulullah and one of the
[14:31]jobs of those who speak on behalf of God is to give
[14:34]good news to people there are some people you go to them
[14:36]only they give you bad news this is why some people they
[14:40]say I don't want to go to the Masjid I don't want
[14:42]to listen to the lecture because every time I go all I
[14:45]hear is hell hell the job of the prophets one of the
[14:49]jobs of the prophets talks about good news talks about heaven talks
[14:53]about Paradise talks about the mercy of God and this my dear
[14:58]brothers and sisters we have to focus on the Quran focuses on
[15:00]this yes the Quran also is the war the prophet is a
[15:04]Warner the Quran talks about the day of judgment but you have
[15:07]to gravitate people through that which they love grab gravitate people through
[15:12]good news if you're a movement then you have nothing to worry
[15:19]about if you're a Believer you have nothing to worry about and
[15:23]a Warner yes some people they only want to hear the good
[15:28]news they don't want to hear anything that is bad anything any
[15:32]consequences of their own actions no there are consequences of everything and
[15:41]he calls people by the permission of God and he's a saraj
[15:46]and munira he's a light that guides people imagine you are traveling
[15:53]in the darkness and you need that light you need that light
[15:56]to show you the way the Quran says rasulullah is that light
[16:02]rasulullah has that light that will guide you and this Dunya and
[16:06]guide you in the afterlife another description of rasulullah is that Allah
[16:16]describes that the words and the actions they are synonymous with the
[16:26]words of God what does this mean this means that everything the
[16:32]prophet says everything that the prophet does this is a why this
[16:35]is a revelation from Allah [Applause] they came and they tried to
[16:58]divide and separate rasulullah from the wahi what did they do they
[17:01]come and they say don't follow everything he does sometimes he forgets
[17:04]sometimes he gets angry sometimes he's happy sometimes he's emotional and this
[17:10]was an attempt even until the day until days before his death
[17:14]the Thursday the Calamity of Thursday what did they say he says
[17:20]bring me a book bring me something so that I tell you
[17:21]that which you will never go astray one of them he says
[17:26]the book of Allah is enough for us the man is hallucinating
[17:30]but the Quran is saying everything he says and everything he does
[17:37]is it is a revelation from Allah this is one description of
[17:45]rasulullah another description is that he is the only one who elevated
[17:51]and elevated until he reached the highest position in Paradise where Allah
[17:59]spoke directly saying Allah in the Israel and the Mirage traveled that
[18:24]night Journey subhanallah the prophet traveled in a miraculous way from Masjid
[18:35]al-haram to Masjid Al-Aqsa and from Masjid Al-Aqsa he elevated he elevated
[18:41]where he saw the cosmic system where he saw the heavens Allah
[18:49]gave him a tour of the heavens and and he met the
[18:51]prophets and he led the prayers over the prophets and there Allah
[19:00]spoke with him that is a position that no one has other
[19:04]than rasulullah even the angel the narration says that he was traveling
[19:08]with the prophets and they were going up and raising from rank
[19:14]to rank to rank until jibrail tells him we have reached the
[19:18]position that I cannot go any further if I go one inch
[19:20]further I will burn he elevated and there Allah spoke directly without
[19:36]an intermediary of course today there are some people who took their
[19:53]from other than the Allah they say that God rasulullah saw God
[20:01]saw the physical image of God and God has a body and
[20:03]they say this verse they say no this is not God how
[20:13]could God have a body God cannot have a physical body Allah
[20:17]could never be seen who is it that he saw when he
[20:23]was coming down once again another description of rasulullah is that he
[20:31]is described to have the highest rank in Paradise in the afterlife
[20:35]and Allah says it was upon rasulullah to pray the midnight prayer
[20:59]either half the night a little bit more a little bit less
[21:07]Ras and Allah tells him and this this is considered to be
[21:22]the position of intercession where rasulullah and we mentioned this last night
[21:30]rasulullah was given the highest position and this is according to some
[21:34]of the Hadith the verse of in the Quran that gives the
[21:39]most hope what is it foreign your Lord shall give you until
[21:49]you are pleased and rasulullah his merciful heart will intercede for all
[21:55]of the Believers now from all of the descriptions of rasulullah perhaps
[22:00]the one that stands out the most is his Mercy his describes
[22:09]him imagine God the Alim describes by saying you have the best
[22:23]of the best of manners the most compassion the most mercy and
[22:28]rasulullah says everyone you're disciplined by your teacher you're disciplined by your
[22:33]parents by people around you rasulullah he was an orphan and Allah
[22:40]says you were an orphan and God was the one who was
[22:46]watching over you Allah was the one who was protecting you and
[22:51]guiding you every step of the way so he says my Lord
[22:53]discipline me my lord gave me my manners my lord gave me
[22:59]my Asana and he gave me the best and this is why
[23:05]and rasulullah has described as a Mercy to Mankind you were sent
[23:14]verily as a Mercy to Mankind my dear brothers and sisters this
[23:20]was lifted from the Earth with the death of the holy prophet
[23:25]sallallahu alaihi wasallam I want to just share one story narrated by
[23:32]IBN Abbas IBN Abbas who is the cousin of the prophet he
[23:37]mentions the story he says that the prophet in his last days
[23:42]in his last days he goes to the Masjid and he tells
[23:48]the Muslims he tells them Allah Allah has made a vow in
[24:02]the Quran that the oppressor will be held accountable if I've done
[24:05]any type of any type of Oppression people will not pass until
[24:12]they are held accountable he says he tells the Muslims these are
[24:27]my last hours these are my last days if I have oppressed
[24:33]anyone if I have hurt anyone if I have done anything to
[24:38]hurt anyone and oppress anyone please tell me now please tell me
[24:43]now he says I would rather face the consequences of my actions
[25:01]in this Dunya that is more beloved to me than being exposed
[25:04]and humiliated in front of the angels and in front of the
[25:07]prophets on the day of judgment if I have done anything let
[25:12]me pay the price for it and this Dunya rather than the
[25:17]akhara there was a man in the Masjid by the name of
[25:27]the urban case he stands and he says may my father and
[25:36]my mother be sacrificed for you but I have one thing to
[25:41]say he says one day when you were when you when if
[25:46]you were traveling and on your way to Medina from I saw
[25:55]I came to you and you were on the camel by the
[25:59]name of this was the camel of rasulallah and in your hand
[26:05]you had the stick and the whip to make the camel go
[26:08]so he says he says you raised the Whip and you want
[26:18]to get the camel to move and that whip it hit my
[26:24]stomach it hit my stomach while you were you were doing this
[26:32]I don't know if this was on purpose or an accident he
[26:40]says no of course I did not do it on purpose if
[26:44]it happened it was not on purpose go to the home of
[26:55]my daughter Fatima go to Fatima and bring that whip bring that
[27:02]whip that I used it and hit this man well he started
[27:12]walking across the Muslims and he's going to the house of Fatima
[27:17]and he's saying in the alleys of Medina he's saying us he
[27:34]says o people where have you seen anyone who is going and
[27:40]he wants to face the consequences and the punishment of their actions
[27:44]in this Dunya before the day of judgment this is Muhammad this
[27:51]is our Prophet who is willing to do so and then Bilal
[27:54]he brings the Whip and he hands it to rasulullah says where
[28:01]is that man where is that man Allah so either he comes
[28:13]forward across the Muslims to take his revenge from Allah he tells
[28:20]him come and take your Casas until you are pleased until you
[28:28]are pleased so then the man he says he says he tells
[28:35]him Allah the day your whip hit me my trust was uncovered
[28:41]so I need your trust to be uncovered as well I want
[28:47]to see your chest so then rasulullah he removed his shirt and
[28:51]so saw the trust of rasulullah and the stomach of rasulullah and
[28:55]then he says do you allow me to kiss your stomach and
[29:08]kiss yes so then the man he puts his chest he puts
[29:16]his head on the chest of rasulullah and he says he says
[29:29]I seek refuge in rasulullah from the Hellfire in I seek refuge
[29:36]in rasulullah tells him are you going to forgive or are you
[29:46]going to take your kasas and then he says I will forgive
[29:55]raises his hands and he says and be merciful with him the
[30:10]same way he forgave rasulullah so this man he just wanted to
[30:15]get nearer to rasulullah during his final moments and rasulullah passed away
[30:22]on that Monday after in the end of Safar we ask Allah
[30:29]to grant us and the ziara of our dear Prophet Muhammad I
[30:36]will end here to transition to the next shot foreign Muhammad amen
[32:45]my dear brothers and sisters in the last week there were two
[32:52]natural disasters and catastrophes that fell upon two Muslim countries predominantly Muslim
[33:01]countries one was an earthquake that took place in Morocco and this
[33:06]earthquake took the lives of close to 3 000 people and it
[33:12]caused a lot of Destruction a lot of displacement and a lot
[33:17]of suffering amongst many people and the second natural disaster and catastrophe
[33:23]that fell was in Libya where close to 20 000 people were
[33:30]killed eleven thousand they've said have been killed and there are many
[33:33]that are missing thousands that are missing unaccounted for and they estimate
[33:39]that the number of casualties is rising close to 20 000 people
[33:43]killed due to the flooding so my dear brothers and sisters just
[33:48]several quick messages one is that we have a religious Duty we
[33:55]have an obligation to help reduce the suffering of those who are
[33:59]across the world it doesn't matter what religion they are it doesn't
[34:02]matter what sect they are it doesn't matter what nationality or color
[34:05]they are we have a religion we have a religious obligation and
[34:11]responsibility to help others and if they are Muslim then the obligation
[34:16]becomes even more rasulullah he says the Muslims are like one body
[34:23]if one part of the body is in pain then the whole
[34:24]body suffers and when we see there are Muslims we see that
[34:30]there are people that are displaced people that are unwell we have
[34:33]to remove them and when we give sadaqa my dear brothers and
[34:37]sisters when we give charity we are protecting ourselves when we give
[34:41]sadata to other people we are the beneficiaries we are the ones
[34:48]who benefit when we do good deeds when you give sadaka the
[34:51]Hadith says that Allah will protect you from a Calamity that is
[34:55]supposed to fall down upon you this is why some people they
[34:59]make it a habit to give sadaka every day what's a dollar
[35:02]two dollars five dollars whatever it is putting it a day putting
[35:08]a box in your house and you put it every day this
[35:12]will protect you there are many many narrations there are many verses
[35:16]in the Quran that talk about the power of sadaka the same
[35:20]way Dua protects you the sadaqah will also protect you and the
[35:23]Hadith it will remove the Bella even though it has been written
[35:35]down it's supposed to happen it's supposed to fall upon you but
[35:38]it will stop it it will remove it and there are many
[35:43]stories of this one story is of prophet is where Prophet Isa
[35:48]one day he sees a group of people they were celebrating he
[35:51]says these people they're celebrating Now by morning they're during the in
[35:57]the morning in a few hours they're going to be crying you're
[36:00]going to hear the cries out of this house some of the
[36:04]Muslims they said what he said someone's going to die in that
[36:08]house he's not speaking from himself Prophet Isaiah's knowledge he used to
[36:13]raise the dead he used to speak of things Knowledge from Allah
[36:22]so the next day in the morning nothing happened no sounds of
[36:30]crying nothing happened so this man the mus the the disciples and
[36:33]the companions of Isa they asked Isa they tell them what's going
[36:38]on you said that someone's going to die we don't hear anything
[36:40]he tells them go and see the house there was a people
[36:44]they had a wedding the night before he says go and see
[36:49]the house they go and they remove the bed of the person
[36:51]sleeping there the groom and they find a poisonous snake meaning that
[36:55]death was very close that was supposed to come but it did
[37:00]not come so they must have done something so he asks them
[37:02]he says ask them what they did they said that the night
[37:07]before they had food and they gave sadaka they gave poor they
[37:09]gave to the poor people extra food how many times do we
[37:14]have extra food and we end up throwing it away my dear
[37:16]brothers and sisters there are a lot of people that will eat
[37:20]that food maybe some of us some people unfortunately this is a
[37:23]bad habit if a food one hour or two hours it's not
[37:26]and then they won't eat it anymore this is from Allah there
[37:31]are people that need that so when you give Allah will protect
[37:35]you and this is one so if there are any channels any
[37:40]ways that we could help out those who are suffering then this
[37:43]is something that we have to do another very important point my
[37:46]dear brothers and sisters and this is sad to say but the
[37:51]reality is that a lot of the suffering a lot of the
[37:55]pain that we see taking place in natural disasters in some parts
[37:59]of the world predominantly many of the Muslim countries a lot of
[38:05]it is avoidable pain avoidable suffering why is it avoidable why did
[38:09]it happen this way why are twenty thousand thirty thousand people killed
[38:12]in one earthquake or one tsunami or or some things that happened
[38:18]because of mismanagement because of corruption because of cheating and the building
[38:22]codes a few months ago there was the earthquake in turkey and
[38:27]they were saying that a lot of these buildings they fell because
[38:31]they were built not according to the correct standard people cheated when
[38:35]they were building they didn't build it according to code or a
[38:39]lot of the suffering right now due to the flood that took
[38:42]place in Libya they're saying the articles are saying that it happened
[38:46]because of the mismanagements because they did not warn people early enough
[38:50]and then you know what happened when people suffer they come and
[38:54]they say why did God do this to us Allah does not
[38:57]do this Allah gave us the intellect and the means to protect
[39:02]ourselves but when there is corruption when there's mismanagement there's going to
[39:07]be suffering and this is a rule wherever we are in life
[39:12]if we do not have our Affairs and control then there's going
[39:14]to be suffering this is in his last will to his sons
[39:22]he tells them he says I ask you my will to you
[39:36]is that you have to have taqwan God and meaning correct your
[39:40]affairs do not be sloppy in your job in whatever you do
[39:43]make sure you do things correctly if you do things correctly then
[39:47]it will be efficient then you will protect yourself and you will
[39:51]be correct in what you do today you go and you travel
[39:55]to some countries you see the dirt and the trash and the
[39:57]roads are broken and you see other places no they're they're well
[40:00]they're clean because they brought the good to themselves and others bring
[40:06]the suffering to themselves so these are two points that I had
[40:10]regarding the um the natural disasters that took place the last point
[40:14]is that my dear brothers and sisters on Sunday October 22nd we're
