[5:11]come and he asks you to fight and you do not fight

[5:13]what are you going to do at that time they say no

[5:17]we will fight because we have been oppressed we were kicked out

[5:19]of our homes our children have been killed we're oppressed right now

[5:23]we have to defend ourselves so then allah says we sent to

[7:04]that he is going to save you is that he's going to

[7:09]box that hidden box that will bring tranquility they came and they

[7:14]tell the king they tell the prophet ishmael they tell him no

[7:20]send us a king who is rich how are we going to

[7:25]follow someone who's poor if he's poor how are we going to

[7:28]follow him is your king follow him they say we deserve to

[7:45]be kings he doesn't deserve to be king because he doesn't have

[7:49]the money doesn't have the position and talut was from the descendants

[7:53]of binyamin and because all of the jews all of the israelites

[8:03]so they are bani israel the children of israel and the kings

[8:08]and the prophets from bani israel were from the children of lawi

[8:13]and the children of yahuda so they come and they say he's

[8:17]from the children of binyamin there's class system even with the children

[8:23]of yaqub so they say he's from the sons of binyamin why

[8:29]are we supposed to follow him doesn't he have the power he

[8:32]doesn't have the wealth allah says allah gave him knowledge and allah

[8:45]gave him a strong body so he says the prophet says you

[8:57]have to follow him allah is the one who has appointed him

[9:00]for you and the sign of his power is that he is

[9:04]going to find the tabut and he is going to save you

[9:08]from the army of goliath so now talut comes and the prophet

[9:14]tells him you are the king you are going to lead them

[9:17]and you are going to lead them to war to go and

[9:55]the prophet of allah talut he's not a prophet taalut once he

[10:08]comes he wants to test them he tells them there is a

[10:16]river we're going to pass by it whoever drinks and quenches their

[10:22]thirst from that river then this person will not be able to

[10:25]be with me and whoever drinks just a handful just enough to

[10:30]remove the thirst this person will be with me he's testing them

[10:33]and this is what they do in the military this is what

[10:35]they do in the army anything in life you're tested to see

[10:39]are you willing to control yourself they reach the river 90% of

[12:47]the muslims believe in this dawud he was able to throw a

[13:02]talut they were able to go back and take back their land

[13:07]then allah subhanahu wa ta'ala goes on to explain how dawud became

[13:11]the king after talut either talut gave up his kingdom or after

[13:16]his death dawud became the king and he was not just the

[13:21]king david he was not just the king he was a king

[13:24]and he was a great prophet of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allah

[13:28]speaks about dawud numerous times in the quran allah says allah gave

[13:45]him the mulk the kingdom and allah gave him the hikmah allah

[13:49]gave him the prophethood and allah gave him many other features one

[13:54]of the things that dawud had was that allah made iron very

[13:59]easy for him he was able to mold the iron with his

[14:03]hands he was a blacksmith and the hadith says that dawud he

[14:09]used to eat from bayt al mal he used to live off

[14:12]bayt al mal and bayt al mal the treasury at that time

[14:16]it's for anyone that works for the government and he's a king

[14:19]so he's allowed to eat from that allah tells him o dawud

[14:23]i like everything about you except the fact that you eat from

[14:27]bayt al maal so for forty days he cried and he asked

[14:32]allah for forgiveness even though as we mentioned a few nights ago

[14:40]work for the government and he's the head of the government but

[14:43]he cried and he asked allah for forgiveness it's so allah taught

[14:54]the iron with his hand and he would make an iron he

[14:58]would make a vest a vest to an armor an armed vest

[15:06]out of iron every day he would make one and he would

[15:09]sell it and that was how he would survive that was his

[15:12]work that was what he used to do for a living and

[15:16]of course dawud allah gave him the zaboor the psalms of david

[16:07]mountains and the wind and everything would listen to the dua of

[16:11]dawud a very beautiful way he used to recite and do dua

[16:16]and ask allah that the creation of allah they would also listen

[16:21]to the dua of dawud and they would recite with dawud this

[16:26]was the prophet of allah prophet dawud he had the zaboor now

[16:32]we have a book that is also called the zaboor of al

[16:36]muhammad what is that book that book is the sahifa sajjadiyah sahifa

[16:43]sajjadiyah the duas the munajat of imam zain al abideen which are

[16:49]not less than the zaboor of dawud recite these duas they teach

[16:54]you how to speak to allah how to have a dialogue with

[16:57]allah how to speak to allah from away from the perspective of

[17:03]the 'abd the servant to the master and this is what we

[17:08]learn from imam zainul abdi now because of the lack of time

[17:14]and the shortage of days that come we're going to also speak

[17:18]about prophet sulaiman prophet sulaiman is the son of dawud and allah

[17:25]says in the quran also we gave dawud he is also he

[17:38]is the best and the very good servant of allah and he

[17:44]also returns to allah now sulaiman was also a prophet and he

[17:51]was also a king and the most powerful king on earth on

[17:57]the face of earth and he had a kingdom that no one

[18:00]before him or after him had that kingdom this is what allah

[18:04]says in the quran now of course in the bible sulaiman is

[18:09]mentioned in a derogatory way he's mentioned as a king who used

[18:14]to do wrong things but we as muslims we believe that he

[18:17]was a prophet and a king and his power was from allah

[18:23]allah says in the quran allah says we gave them dawood we

[18:41]gave them the the knowledge and it is knowledge that is more

[18:45]important than power because through knowledge you'll you'll be able to keep

[18:50]power and you'll be able to gain power and it's the knowledge

[18:55]that made them surpass all others and then allah says they said

[19:17]was able to speak to the animals he was able to understand

[19:23]what the birds in the sky are saying what the insects are

[19:26]saying what the animals are saying and this was one of the

[19:29]signs of allah for allah it's not difficult just like allah allowed

[19:33]musa to throw his staff and it becomes a snake just like

[19:37]he allowed prophet ibrahim to be saved from the fire and all

[19:40]of the prophets they had miracles why is it difficult for allah

[19:44]subhanahu wa ta'ala if he created us and he created the animals

[19:48]why is it difficult for allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to allow all

[19:52]of that to happen and sulaiman he didn't have just humans working

[19:58]for him usually a king is king of humans a king of

[20:02]people sulaiman was the king of the humans the jinn the shayateen

[20:08]the jinn they were trapped were not able to do anything bad

[20:12]in his kingdom and they would work as slaves as servants in

[20:15]his kingdom and the animals this was the kingdom of sulaiman this

[20:22]was how powerful sulaiman was and this was all because allah gave

[20:27]him this kingdom and of course the story of prophet sulaiman has

[20:31]many lessons because just like allah gave him the kingdom allah also

[20:36]took away the kingdom from him and the story of his death

[20:39]is also a unique one one that brings many lessons to us

[20:44]if we have time we will speak about it so allah says

[20:47]in the quran once after the death of dawud he was the

[20:53]king he was the leader he was the ruler but allah discusses

[20:58]how was tested and every prophet even dawud was tested he was

[21:03]tested with his judgment because he was a judge he was tested

[21:07]once and allah speaks about that story but sulaiman one day he

[21:12]said i became king now i want to have children i want

[21:17]to have children that will help me rule that will help me

[21:20]lead my kingdom and he had many wives and concubines so he

[21:25]says in one night i'm going to go to all my wives

[21:29]so that i have many children i have many children and through

[21:34]these children i will be able to rule i will be able

[21:38]to lead this was what he was thinking he goes to his

[21:41]wives and his concubines then he sees that only one child is

[21:48]born and that child was a paralyzed child that was left dead

[21:53]on a cursi that was left dead on his own throne allah

[21:58]says in the quran we placed he thought he was going to

[22:10]have many children he saw that there was one disfigured it's not

[22:15]even a complete baby infant and it's dead and they placed him

[22:20]on the chair he looked at it and he began to realize

[22:25]what did i do i must have done something that allah did

[22:29]not give me this child and allah did not give me children

[22:32]and this one it's dead and it's incomplete he thought to himself

[22:38]then he said yes i remember what i did wrong what i

[22:42]did wrong what i did wrong was that i said i'm going

[22:47]to have children without saying inshaallah i didn't say inshaallah he he

[22:53]didn't say inshaallah he said i'm going to have many children they're

[22:56]going to help me rule they're going to help me lead and

[22:59]he forgot to say inshaallah now it's not haram to say inshaallah

[23:03]but for a prophet of allah this is tarkil aula he should

[23:06]have done it and allah says i expect more from you because

[23:10]you are a prophet of allah so this one child it was

[23:14]a dead child here he says oh allah forgive me and it

[23:34]is only you that can give me power it is only you

[23:40]my power a lot of us a lot of people that are

[23:45]in power they say i'm the one who came to this position

[23:48]i am the one who worked hard i am the one who

[23:50]did this and that i became rich i struggled i became successful

[23:55]he says no oh allah all success comes from you give me

[24:06]a mulk that no one after me will have this mulk this

[24:11]power this kingdom allah answers the dua of suleiman he gives him

[24:44]a kingdom where the shayateen they are building the jinn they are

[24:48]building and there are divers the wass bringing jewelry and coral from

[24:53]the ocean from the sea but there is one thing sulaiman he

[24:59]was the more most powerful the richest person he was the most

[25:03]powerful king but the hadith of the imams the hadith says that

[25:09]sulaiman is going to be the last of the prophets to enter

[25:12]paradise and this is one of the hikma one of the justices

[25:18]of allah allah tells him you had this dunya you had this

[25:21]murk you're going to enter paradise don't worry you're going to enter

[25:24]paradise but the prophets who did not have the prophets who did

[25:28]were not into this dunya of course shulayman was not into this

[25:32]dunya he was in it for the sake of the afterlife but

[25:36]the ones who did not have who did not live a lavish

[25:40]a very comfortable lifestyle they're going to go first and you are

[25:43]going to be the last of the prophets not the last of

[25:46]the people the last of the prophets to enter paradise now allah

[25:52]mentions another story with regards to prophet sulayman and that is that

[25:57]he had a hood hood a hoopy bird a bird that was

[26:02]always with him and we mentioned he used to speak to the

[26:05]birds he used to speak to the animals and this bird used

[26:08]to always fly with him be with him one day he looks

[26:13]he sees the bird is not with him and then he says

[26:25]where's the bird is he missing i will kill him or i

[26:40]will slaughter him unless he comes and he gives me an excuse

[26:44]where was he this bird was always with sulaiman where was he

[26:50]then allah describes that the hood hood comes to salaam the bird

[27:04]comes and he says no have an excuse for being away i

[27:09]was in sheba i was in sheba and i have news for

[27:12]you from sheba because the bird flies sheba is in yemen and

[27:16]he's in al makdas in the holy land so he says i

[27:23]saw in sheba there's a queen that has a grand throne now

[27:28]salaman he has a very grand throne he has a kingdom from

[27:32]allah but he says she has a very grand throne and her

[27:38]people they are worshipping the sun they pray to the sun she

[27:53]has a arsh a throne that is they are doing sujood to

[28:04]the sun they are worshipping the sun so now sulaiman because he's

[28:10]a prophet of allah not because he's a conqueror not because he

[28:14]wants to invade other places but because he's a prophet of allah

[28:18]he sends a letter he sends a letter to sheba bilqis he

[28:24]sends her the queen of sheba he sends her a letter send

[28:37]this kitab a letter take it to them and see what they

[28:41]reply now the bird takes a letter to the queen of saba

[28:48]the queen of sheba now allah describes what she says she receives

[28:54]the letter and she's speaking to her counsel she's speaking to her

[28:58]people a letter has come to me but she says this is

[29:09]a good book meaning that she was not afraid of what it

[29:13]had and she says a generous book it is from sulaiman and

[29:25]it begins with and this is in surah the ant it is

[29:33]the only surah in the quran that has two it begins with

[29:37]and this is in the middle of the chapter and of course

[29:42]there's another surah that does not have a which one is that

[29:46]that one does not begin with this one has two so then

[29:53]then he says don't be arrogant with me and come submit to

[30:08]me now of course sulayman is not after power sulayman he's a

[30:13]prophet of allah he wants them to stop worshiping the sun and

[30:17]worship allah subhanahu wa ta'ala this is why he is doing this

[30:22]so she had advisors she wasn't a dictator she came and she

[30:26]talked to her advisors and she tells them what should we do

[30:30]we have this letter from salayman and he says come and submit

[30:33]to me what should we do so some of her advisors they

[30:38]said no we're strong we're powerful we could fight them but then

[30:43]she was a wise woman she says she says i'm not going

[30:56]to make a decision by myself and this is one of the

[31:00]lessons of leadership that allah gives us in the quran she says

[31:03]i'm not going to make a decision by myself i follow i

[31:06]listen to my advisers unlike our president today even she used to

[31:10]listen to her advisers she says i'm going to listen to my

[31:15]advisers and then they said we have strength as well if salayman

[31:29]has an army we also have an army we're a kingdom and

[31:32]then she replied something which also proves her wisdom and what kind

[31:37]of a good leader she was she says destroy it and they're

[31:58]going to take away all of the honor from the people and

[32:01]this is what happens any country that is invaded any group of

[32:05]people any town that is invaded you see that everything dies the

[32:09]good and the bad the good and the bad everyone suffers because

[32:14]of the invasion so she says i would prefer to see what

[32:18]sulaiman has to say what are our options rather than saying no

[32:23]we will go ahead and fight maybe sulaiman is not going to

[32:26]harm us maybe sulayman is calling us for something good so she

[32:31]says let's test him i'm going to test sulayman to see if

[32:43]he is truly a prophet or he is a person who's after

[32:47]this dunya if he's a prophet of allah i'm going to send

[32:50]a massive gift she sent a very very expensive gift something very

[32:56]great historians and hadith they're divided what was it that she sent

[33:01]but this was a very great gift she sent it to salayman

[33:05]to see if salayman going to fall for the gift also like

[33:09]our president he went he had principles he said i'm going to

[33:12]do this i'm going to do that they gave him a few

[33:15]dollars of course not a few dollars a few billion dollars and

[33:20]right away he gave up on everything or is he a man

[33:23]of principles so here she's testing sulayman to see is he going

[33:58]allah has given me is much better than what allah has given

[34:01]you and here this shows that sulaiman was not after this dunya

[34:04]sulaiman he was after the hidayah he was after the principle he

[34:10]did not want them to worship the sun so he says what

[34:13]you're giving me allah has given me much better i don't need

[34:15]your money i can't be bought and sold with dollars i can't

[34:21]be bought and sold with money so then he says i'm going

[34:26]to wage a war i'm going to go and invade them for

[34:31]the sake of allah he says i'm going to prepare an army

[34:36]i'm going to wage a war to bring them but then suleiman

[34:40]while as soon as he says that suleiman has the authority the

[34:43]jinn he has the ants he has the animals working for him

[34:48]so he says to his people who out of you he has

[34:52]the jinn and he has the ants the humans working for him

[34:56]he says who out of you is able to bring the arsh

[34:59]of bilqis the throne of bilqis that same throne that the hudhud

[35:04]says it's a grand throne that is even grander and much greater

[35:08]than the one of sulayman which one out of you is able

[35:20]to bring the throne of bilqis before they come to me before

[35:24]i make them submit to me one of the jinn he says

[35:37]i will bring it for you before you get up from your

[35:39]throne before you get up from your seat i will be able

[35:43]to bring the throne of bilqis all the way in yemen in

[35:48]sheba i will bring it all the way to beit al makdas

[35:53]and then he says because i have the strength allah has given

[36:01]me that strength and then there was another person that was next

[36:05]to salayman another person next to salayman the human asaf ibn burqiya

[36:18]who has the knowledge of the kitab the knowledge of allah the

[36:23]knowledge that allah has given him i will bring it to you

[36:35]before you blink your eyes before you blink your eyes allah does

[36:41]not say he brought him allah says he says before you blink

[36:44]your eyes then he saw it right in front of him right

[36:48]away he saw the of bilqis right in front of him he

[37:20]today the ones who fly a plane the ones who make cars

[37:24]the ones who heal the sick where did they get this knowledge

[37:27]from chemistry physics biology mathematics isn't this all the creation of allah

[37:34]chemistry who created all of this isn't isn't that all from allah

[37:39]the rules of physics aren't they all a creation of allah i'm

[37:43]really amazed at the ones who go and they become physicists they

[37:47]become chemists they become biologists they become educated individuals and then they

[37:51]come and they say there's no proof for allah these are all

[37:54]the creation of allah that you're playing with that you're that you're

[37:57]using all of these things to do more this is all a

[38:00]creation of allah so here allah says the one who we have

[38:05]given him the knowledge he was able to bring basically teleport the

[38:11]arash the throne of bilqis all the way from yemen to al

[38:17]quds this is all if allah allows something to happen it will

[38:38]karbala tomorrow you could be in mecca and with time this travel

[38:44]will become faster it just it just takes knowledge if you have

[38:48]the knowledge you'll be able to do it faster here this man

[38:51]asaf ibn barqiya allah gave him the knowledge he was able to

[38:54]do it much faster and this was how rasulallah was able to

[38:57]have the israah and the mirage this is how rasulallah was able

[39:01]to go it takes the knowledge if allah allows something to happen

[39:10]allah allows that to happen so bilqis the queen of sheba she

[39:15]suddenly saw herself in front of salaam and the palace of salaam

[39:21]and she's looking around what happened to me allah describes in the

[39:25]quran she's looking around they tell her isn't this your arsh she

[39:29]says yes it is as if it is my arsh it is

[39:32]my throne and then they tell her go inside the palace of

[39:37]sulaiman she goes inside the palace and she sees a river flowing

[39:45]in front of her so she raises her dress so that it

[39:49]does not get wet and then she realizes that she's standing on

[39:53]glass she's standing on glass and it does not get wet because

[39:59]there's a partition there's glass between where she is standing and the

[40:03]water right in front of her this was the mulk of salayman

[40:07]this was the power of salayman as soon as she saw that

[40:11]she says she says says oh allah i have oppressed myself by

[40:27]not by worshipping other than allah and i believe in allah i

[40:35]am a believer with sulayman we both worship allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[40:41]we both worship allah the lord of the universe the lord the

[40:45]lord of all that is a creation allah is the creator now

[40:53]historians say she went back and she was able to rule and

[40:57]then some say she married sulayman others say she married someone else

[41:02]this is not mentioned in the quran because allah brings the story

[41:06]just just what is important the other part is not important what

[41:10]is important is that she believed after seeing the signs from allah

[41:14]now this was a story of the life of salayman now there's

[41:20]a last story and that was the death of salayman and just

[41:24]as much lessons we learned from salaman the way he ruled and

[41:29]his power we also learn lessons from his death and this is

[41:33]also mentioned in the quran allah says that sulayman he it was

[41:42]his day off it was his break so he tells all of

[41:46]his workers the jinn and the inns and the animals to leave

[41:50]him this is his day off he goes and he's standing over

[41:54]looking over his kingdom looking over the shayateen the jinn the humans

[42:01]they're all working everyone is doing what they have to do then

[42:06]and he says i don't want anyone to enter on me this

[42:09]is my private chamber this is my private hour i don't want

[42:12]anyone to come and be with me and distract me at this

[42:16]time he is standing is looking suddenly he hears someone comes behind

[42:22]him he says who gave you permission to enter on me this

[42:27]is my day off the reply was i am the one who

[42:33]does not take permission from anyone right away sulaiman realized that this

[42:40]is the time of his death this is malakil mot the angel

[42:44]of death does he ask for anyone anyone's permission does he ask

[42:48]my permission before coming to take my life no matter how rich

[42:52]how poor how strong you are whatever you are whatever your status

[42:55]is in life so the angel of death does not ask for

[42:59]permission he comes and he comes without permission just like this kid

[43:05]coming here without permission he's going to be a khatib inshaallah a

[43:16]speaker inshaallah he came and sulaiman right away he realizes he realizes

[43:25]that this is his time the angel of death has come this

[43:29]is his time so he tells him let me come down let

[43:36]me go and sit on the ground he was standing leaning on

[43:39]his cane the angel of death tells him not a split second

[43:45]not even one second when the time of death comes allah does

[43:56]not delay it one minute or make it early one minute that

[43:59]is the time that allah has destined for you so he took

[44:02]away the soul of sulaiman while sulaiman was leaning on his cane

[44:07]he was leaning on his cane watching over the people now these

[44:12]the workers the human the jinn the animals they're all working for

[44:15]sulaiman they think he's watching them but salayman is dead and they're

[44:20]still working very hard they think he's still watching them he's still

[44:24]leaning on the cane he didn't fall until allah sent an insect

[44:28]a termite it came and it started eating at the cane in

[44:33]his hand that he was holding until they realized sulaiman suddenly he

[44:38]fell and they realized that sulaiman has been dead all along they

[44:43]didn't know sulaiman was dead until allah sent the termite he fell

[44:48]then they realized that sulaiman was dead and this is a lesson

[44:52]from allah no matter how strong you are you're going to fall

[44:56]on your face you're going to fall and this is a lesson

[45:01]that we learned from this great prophet of allah prophet sulaiman who

[45:05]was so great that the angels the wind the rain the clouds

[45:10]the animals everything would obey his command everything would obey his command

[45:18]but then a day comes that we have to all leave this

[45:22]life and we become weaker than a termite weaker than a small

[45:26]termite so we ask allah to help us learn lessons from these

[45:33]great stories in the quran and then tomorrow we will have another

[45:40]story of another great prophet
