[23:58]of our sponsors and with that I would like to welcome after
[24:13]muham muham alhamd muham may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accept all of
[25:20]your some of you had six nights ofal like me and some
[25:27]of you had three nights may Allah subhah tala accept from us
[25:34]the and inshallah the was an accepted for all of us may
[25:43]Allah answer your wishes anyone who did Dua may Allah forgive us
[25:46]during these nights and I know we are coming towards the end
[25:51]of the holy month of Ramadan um inshallah we could pull through
[25:55]it and celebrate Eid and insh Allah accepts us accepts from all
[26:02]of us there's no question that we are living in the age
[26:13]of social media probably everyone we know and their grandma has some
[26:20]some type of social media some type of um either WhatsApp Instagram
[26:28]Facebook Tik Tok something it's something that is widely used and we
[26:36]see that we can't even we we we can't live our lives
[26:42]without it it's become a part of our lives and if you
[26:44]see someone that is disconnected that doesn't have it people look at
[26:50]this person like really you know it's you you really don't have
[26:53]social media even though there are some people that don't they're trying
[26:58]to fight the the wave and they're trying to you know withstand
[27:02]that's something unique that we see when it comes to social media
[27:10]it has a great impact on our lives it has a great
[27:18]impact on our perspective on our Outlook towards life and you see
[27:24]that through social media The Narrative could be changed and that's why
[27:30]right now there's a struggle over control over social media when it
[27:36]comes to social media you see that there's a positive impact there's
[27:41]a lot of good things that come out of it and there
[27:45]are certain things that might be seen as negative and that we
[27:48]have to be very careful of we have to watch out for
[27:52]when it comes to the positive impact from amongst the positive impacts
[27:56]of social media of for example you YouTube Facebook WhatsApp and Instagram
[28:02]and Tik Tok and all of these platforms from the positive is
[28:07]that now you could spread information and you have access to information
[28:14]much easier than before now this year during the month of Ramadan
[28:19]there are tens of speakers tens of qur Quran tens of Educators
[28:23]that are spreading their knowledge during this time so not everyone could
[28:29]leave their home some people they they sit at home and they're
[28:31]watching lectures and they're being educated and they're learning about their faith
[28:37]and this is one of the positive aspects of social media where
[28:42]you are able to receive knowledge and you're able to spread knowledge
[28:50]to a much greater group of people and in fact there are
[28:54]many people they're probably very learned and very educated in Islam but
[28:59]they don't go and personally attend lectures in person but they're listening
[29:02]and they're researching online and they're listening to lectures as a result
[29:06]of social media and as a as a result of the accessibility
[29:10]of the Islamic lectures and good information online of course having access
[29:19]to knowledge you also have access to bad things as well so
[29:22]there's a good side to it and there's a bad side to
[29:24]it so this is something that we have to kind of be
[29:26]very careful with but with regards to spreading information and spreading information
[29:33]very fast you see that very times it becomes very positive right
[29:39]now for example the genocide that's taking place in Gazza if we
[29:43]were just to rely on mainstream media we wouldn't know what's going
[29:46]on we would have no clue what's going on on the ground
[29:50]over there but because there are reporters there are people just average
[29:54]people that have their phones they're recording and they're posting it and
[29:58]the news is being spread like wildfire everyone knows about it it
[30:03]cannot be contained and even though the mainstream media the the big
[30:08]channels the big cor corporations and governments they're trying to suppress and
[30:12]they're trying to censor but as a result of social media as
[30:17]a result of your average child walking around with a phone in
[30:20]their hand they are able to spread the information that's going on
[30:25]and that's why you see for example over 100 journalists have been
[30:31]killed in Gazza so far over 100 have been killed this is
[30:34]the ones that are accounted for that means there's a targeting of
[30:39]people that are spreading knowledge and spreading uh information on what's going
[30:42]on on the ground and this comes this is a plus that
[30:47]comes from social media and that's why a few weeks ago there
[30:53]was uh there's an attempt right now it's ongoing Congress voted to
[30:59]block tick to and they've been talking about blocking Tik Tok now
[31:03]when you hear them talking about it you see that they're talking
[31:06]it they they make it seem like they're talking from genuine you
[31:12]know they're they're worried about the youth they're worried about children being
[31:15]exposed to all of these bad things that might be on Tik
[31:20]Tok but when you look at when you see the reality behind
[31:24]it you see that they're just trying to censor the information that
[31:27]Tik Tok is spreading spreading to the world because Tik Tok is
[31:31]one of the one of the um platforms social media platforms that
[31:37]is not not under control of um the those who are controlling
[31:42]the mainstream media Tik Tok they're kind of a little bit different
[31:46]they might have a different agenda I'm not saying their agenda is
[31:52]positive I'm just saying their agenda is different it's not it's not
[31:56]in in line with Instagram and Twitter and the other the other
[31:59]social media platforms the way they are controlled so therefore there's an
[32:04]attempt to silence and sensor things that are being revealed on Tik
[32:09]Tok and what is a lot of what's being revealed is pro
[32:14]Palestine and things revealing things that are going on on the ground
[32:17]in Gaza so here you see this is one of the benefits
[32:23]of social media where information that mainstream media tries to hide information
[32:30]that uh is being censored is being revealed so this is one
[32:34]another uh benefit when it comes to social media is that it
[32:36]gives us an opportunity to connect with people at the end of
[32:42]the day humans are social beings we have to connect we have
[32:44]to communicate and connect with other people and social media gives us
[32:52]that platform to connect to communicate with friends there are some people
[32:56]they have probably a very strong relation relationship maybe they don't see
[33:00]each other maybe they live far from one another but as a
[33:03]result of the use of social media the use of WhatsApp and
[33:07]these platforms of communicating with one another you see that they are
[33:10]connected and they have a very strong relationship so this is good
[33:16]a third positive another positive thing that comes out of social media
[33:23]is activism right now you have many youth they are learning about
[33:26]what's going on on the ground and they're becoming Ive and they're
[33:30]mobilizing others they're spreading awareness it's very easy to start a movement
[33:36]just by the use of social media so there's a lot of
[33:40]Pros there's a lot of good things that come out of the
[33:44]use of social media and then there's also a lot of bad
[33:47]things social media could be used to to fight for the rights
[33:53]of others and Allah subhana says in the Quran we have a
[34:04]duty and a responsibility to not only defend our rights but to
[34:09]defend the rights of other people and through social media we could
[34:12]see the genocide that's going on we could see other acts of
[34:14]Oppression we could see other suffering that's going on and it gives
[34:17]us the platform and the voice to raise awareness now while you
[34:25]have a positive side you also have a negative side to it
[34:28]and everything out there everything has some things that are good and
[34:35]some things that are bad we need to be very careful and
[34:37]especially when it comes to social media because social media gives you
[34:41]access to spread knowledge and receive knowledge very quickly so it's basically
[34:46]socializing and when we see the religion of Islam it gives us
[34:52]laws on how to socialize with people for example Allah subhana T
[34:56]says in the Quran and do not spy and do not backbite
[35:08]refrain from wrongful assumptions because some of it could be Haram and
[35:14]stay away from namima meaning going and causing FNA going and telling
[35:18]someone this one was talking about you stay these are all social
[35:23]diseases the Quran fights these social diseases but the Quran is addressing
[35:28]these problems while it's in a small circle of friends maybe people
[35:31]that you're seeing people that you're socializing with when it comes to
[35:37]social media when it comes to WhatsApp for example when it comes
[35:40]to Instagram when it comes to Twitter when it comes to these
[35:45]um these social media platforms that could spread knowledge a lot of
[35:49]good things could happen you could spread awareness you could educate people
[35:53]you could fight for the rights of people but at the same
[35:55]time a lot of bad things could happen could happen on social
[36:02]media lying spreading false information spreading false news and fake news it
[36:07]could happen and it could happen at an even larger scale so
[36:10]this time you have to be very careful and Allah subhana wa
[36:16]tala tells us that we are responsible for the information that we
[36:20]consume we're responsible for what our eyes see we are responsible for
[36:27]what our ears hear we are responsible for the words that we
[36:31]utter we are responsible for what we bring into our hearts says
[36:44]Allah is going to hold you accountable not only for your prayers
[36:48]and your acts of worship but Allah is going to also hold
[36:53]you accountable for the way you deal with people for your interaction
[36:57]with other people I mentioned the Hadith a few days ago some
[37:00]people are going to go on the day of judgment they're going
[37:03]to find out that they're bankrupt why not because they didn't have
[37:07]prayers or zakat or Hajj or all of the Good Deeds no
[37:12]they did all of that but they go and they realize that
[37:14]this person may might have done all of their acts of worship
[37:19]towards God but they have they have shortcomings or they have acts
[37:23]of Oppression towards other people and this is where social media could
[37:28]become very difficult this is where it could become very very difficult
[37:34]because social media is all about connection with other people you're connected
[37:40]the moment you the moment you sign on the moment you're logged
[37:42]on right away you're connected with people you might be connected with
[37:46]people that have a positive impact in your life and you might
[37:49]also be connected with people that might have a negative impact in
[37:54]your life you might be connected with people that you want in
[37:57]your life and then you might also be connected with people that
[38:00]you don't want maybe people are are choosing to be connected with
[38:05]you and they're going to end up hurting you and harming you
[38:08]so this is why it's very difficult and we have to be
[38:14]very careful when we are being exposed to others and when we
[38:18]are exposing ourselves to other people so we see some of the
[38:25]things that we constantly hear people warnings about for example warnings about
[38:30]online bullying identity theft stealing cheating fraud a lot of that could
[38:35]happen online right now you go and you might have might click
[38:40]you get an email it's called fishing you go and you click
[38:42]on one button you get you you click on one email you
[38:46]think that this is an email that was sent by a friend
[38:47]you click on that and then all of your information is stolen
[38:50]all of your information is gone we've seen it happen we've seen
[38:58]it happen um they say that Jeff Bezos the the owner the
[39:02]Amazon one of the reasons that led to his divorce which was
[39:07]probably the most costly divorce in history because he ended up half
[39:12]of his money went to his wife what ended up happening what
[39:17]ended up happening it was because he clicked on a he clicked
[39:25]on a link and his personal private issues they were they were
[39:29]spread and they became public and that ended up causing his divorce
[39:34]so it's it's it could be very risky could be very dangerous
[39:36]you have to be very careful who you expose yourself to and
[39:39]who's sending you information and who's socializing with you because there's a
[39:43]lot of fake things out there there's a lot of distorted realities
[39:50]maybe I could post an image of my life on social media
[39:53]everyone looks at my life and they say this person has the
[39:57]perfect life picture perfect the Instagram marriage this person has the best
[40:02]the best and the most healthy life and then when you go
[40:05]and you look deep inside you see that no this is just
[40:10]this is just what's apparent this is what the image that people
[40:13]are showing to the world but in reality what's inside is something
[40:17]that's rotten in reality it's something that is not very beautiful and
[40:24]this is we see this happening a lot and it has has
[40:26]a huge impact on on the self-esteem of people because some people
[40:30]they look at oh I saw this picture online this family they
[40:32]look very happy why am I not happy why don't I have
[40:36]this why don't I not have that and they start hating their
[40:38]life and they start hating their success and they're never they never
[40:41]feel a sense of fulfillment so it could be someone is giving
[40:47]off a fake image or it could be someone who is seeing
[40:51]a fake image and they could end up hurting themselves and they
[40:53]could they feel like they're not happy you know you you see
[40:56]for example your wife she cooked this very delicious and then you
[41:01]go and you see your friend had something else that day for
[41:04]example another meal and it looks a little bit better because she
[41:09]used Photoshop or something to to make it look nicer and then
[41:12]you're coming and say why didn't you know why didn't I have
[41:15]that meal for example and this is just talking about meal and
[41:20]you could talk about everything else with that um with that logic
[41:23]when it comes to social media it becomes very dangerous for many
[41:30]categories and many different groups of people perhaps one of the first
[41:37]and most susceptible people to the harms of social media are our
[41:41]children our children you might not realize it but if you have
[41:48]a child has a phone in their hand or they have access
[41:51]to social media we don't know what they're being exposed to they're
[41:58]sitting you might have your child probably sitting right next to you
[42:01]on the couch just opposite of you and they might be talking
[42:07]to strangers they might be seeing things that you don't even know
[42:10]about and today you go to the schools and you see most
[42:16]kids have Tik Tok most kids have social media platforms they have
[42:19]Instagram and Tik Tok and sometimes some parents they think that they're
[42:24]doing their children a service by giving them them something that's empowering
[42:29]them but in fact they're harming their children because now the children
[42:35]have access to something that could be potentially harmful potentially toxic to
[42:42]their lives because you probably want to filter what your kids see
[42:47]what your children are exposed to but the moment they're logged into
[42:50]social media the moment they're logged in now you have other people
[42:56]talking to your children you have other people showing pictures and showing
[43:00]images and showing Dance videos and showing everything to your children and
[43:05]in fact there are corporations that spend billions of dollars they bring
[43:10]the top brains in the country the top Minds that have graduated
[43:14]from the best universities and their only job is how to advertise
[43:18]how to come and talk directly to these children they're spending billions
[43:26]and this is why today parenting is probably one of the most
[43:30]difficult tasks because when you're become a parent you're competing with multibillion
[43:36]dollar corporations over the attention of your children so this becomes very
[43:41]dangerous a lot of times when you're when you're scrolling on social
[43:45]media platforms you might see things that are suggested perhaps everything that's
[43:51]suggested is not something that you as a parent would suggest for
[43:56]your children to watch sometimes you might see ads that are promoted
[43:59]so they're paying money to promote this and it's catered and it's
[44:04]going directly towards this category of people they could Target for example
[44:07]we want this to go to a seven-year-old we want this to
[44:10]go to a 10-year-old we want this to go to someone who
[44:12]lives in this area who goes to this school so we have
[44:16]to be very careful we have to be very careful what we
[44:19]give in the hands of our children one of the most dangerous
[44:24]things is giving unlimited access to Internet and to social media to
[44:28]a child because they have full access to everything that's why even
[44:35]a computer it should be for example in the living room of
[44:38]the home it should be somewhere where everyone has access to it
[44:44]because sometimes it becomes um it becomes very toxic for a person
[44:48]especially if someone's still young you wouldn't come and give something harmful
[44:52]to this child when we are giving them full access to social
[44:56]media it becomes harmful um second it becomes dangerous to people who
[45:01]are susceptible to addiction to mental health problems to um challenges in
[45:08]life so this is this is a major issue because a lot
[45:14]of times especially Youth and adults as well especially youth when they
[45:19]see a picture perfect life on social media when they see an
[45:26]image of something that is very beautiful they're going to say I
[45:29]want that as well or maybe sometimes there's bullying there's cyber bullying
[45:33]in fact um the center of Disease Control and prevention data shows
[45:41]that 14.9% of adolescence have been Cyber Bullied and 13.6% of adolescents
[45:50]have made a serious attempt at committing suicide as a result of
[45:55]cyber bullying so this is something that we have to be very
[45:58]careful of and just a few months ago the top doctors in
[46:05]the nation the US Surgeon General they issued a warning this warning
[46:10]was not about drugs it was not about smoking it was not
[46:16]about heart or lungs or whatever this warning was about the harmful
[46:20]effects of social media on mental health so this is something that
[46:29]we have to be very very careful of because when a especially
[46:32]a youth or a child or even an adult Sometimes some people
[46:36]they see something they say I want this and it become it
[46:39]starts to become harmful so this is something that we have to
[46:46]be very careful of another challenge that comes from social media is
[46:49]that it's a danger to marriages a lot of marriages are shaken
[46:53]as a result of social media as a result to Facebook and
[46:59]Instagram and Twitter and Tik Tok and all of these platforms out
[47:03]there when you have unlimited access or someone has unlimited access to
[47:10]you then this could potentially test a marriage this could potentially test
[47:16]a relationship and in fact go and read some studies they say
[47:20]that most divorces right now most divorces that go on when they
[47:23]go and they see what is the reason one excuse one reason
[47:28]that that allowed and led to this divorce and this breakup was
[47:32]the use of social media the use of Facebook for example the
[47:38]use of Instagram the use of Tik Tok because now you're talking
[47:41]to people other people are talking to you and I've had many
[47:43]times when I'm doing marriage counseling you see many times one of
[47:50]the complaints is one person in the relationship is using social media
[47:54]is talking to people in social media is looking at certain things
[47:57]in social media and this becomes um dangerous for a marriage it
[48:04]could begin an illegitimate relationship it could begin talking and conversation with
[48:08]someone that would not be good for the marriage and not be
[48:14]good for the person as a whole you have access to looking
[48:17]at pictures and images that are destructive to families destructive to marriages
[48:24]destructive to relationships and this is an addiction that many people have
[48:30]the addiction of looking at the Haram content that's out there Haram
[48:34]images Haram pictures that are out there and this is not just
[48:37]something that causes a spiritual disease to a person it it it's
[48:43]a it becomes a barrier that brings this person away from connecting
[48:49]with Allah subhana wa taala but it also becomes a an obstacle
[48:52]in the marriage an obstacle in the relationship now a husband does
[48:56]not look at his wife in the same way that he should
[48:59]be a wife does not look at her husband in the way
[49:03]that she should be and it changes it changes the perspective and
[49:06]the perception that people have towards women that women have towards men
[49:12]as a result of looking at and watching Haram content online another
[49:19]um difficult um or Challenge and danger that comes from social media
[49:26]is one that we already addressed is is the distorted reality that's
[49:30]out there it gives a distorted reality right now you could come
[49:34]and look at something with the picture maybe using some photoshop using
[49:38]some editing and you could totally change the image you could totally
[49:42]change things it distorts the reality as a result of social media
[49:47]and this is how the narrative is written you see politicians they
[49:52]use this why is the US election for example the most expensive
[49:58]election because it's all about the Imaging it's all about the advertising
[50:04]you need to the politicians they raise money so that they could
[50:08]advertise and they advertise even if this person you know the they
[50:15]have the most horrible policies they have the worst the worst uh
[50:19]history but with advertising they could come and make this person who's
[50:23]trash look like they're very you know they're very a very good
[50:28]candidate to be president to be Senator to be Congress to be
[50:31]so it's all about the distorted Realties and and social media contributes
[50:39]to that this is why we have to be very careful of
[50:42]the information that we are subjected to and we also have to
[50:48]be very careful of what we are posting does it mean just
[50:52]because I have a phone and I had dinner does it mean
[50:54]that I had to post my dinner that night no or I
[50:58]went on vacation does it mean that I should post everything that
[51:03]I did no but you see some people they have this this
[51:06]need where they feel like in order to achieve happiness for this
[51:11]vacation to be worth it worth the money that I paid for
[51:14]I have to post the picture so everyone sees while we really
[51:19]when when a person goes on vacation they go to enjoy their
[51:22]time with their family but you find most people while they're on
[51:27]vacation or while they're doing something fun and entertaining with their family
[51:31]they're on their phone and they're they're trying to just take that
[51:36]picture so that they could show the world so it changes our
[51:39]perspective we start thinking about what people are thinking about us and
[51:44]trying to please people more than trying to please Allah or doing
[51:51]something that actually brings a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment to our
[51:55]lives when it comes to uh couples there's a lot of in
[52:02]there's a lot of Instagram and social media YouTube couples YouTubers just
[52:06]a few days ago I was reading of this famous couple you
[52:09]know they always post with one another they're they're joking with one
[52:14]another they're playing with one another and they're they they they make
[52:19]their life look like it's such a perfect life you come and
[52:23]you're hear a few weeks a few months a few years later
[52:25]they got divorced and they're they're not talking and they're this one
[52:29]is posting here and this one's posting on their own here why
[52:34]because they're making it seem like they're living very happily but in
[52:38]reality they go through challenges just like just like everyone else so
[52:41]we have to not fall for that we have to be very
[52:46]careful some people they waste their whole time and their whole day
[52:49]and many hours just looking at how people live their lives looking
[52:55]at reality TV shows instead of looking at how people people are
[52:58]living their lives go and live your life go and enjoy your
[52:59]life and this brings us to another danger and that is the
[53:06]danger of time Allah subhana tala talks about time by time indeed
[53:14]people are in loss we're losing time every second that passes every
[53:19]day and every moment that passes this is a moment that's gone
[53:22]that's it that moment is not going to come back how many
[53:27]moment moments have we spent doing good things that's a moment that
[53:30]we will not regret Allah says everyone is in loss the day
[53:38]of judgment one of the names of the day of judgment is
[53:40]the day of regret and warn them of the day of regret
[53:49]when everything has been already written down everything is finalized no one
[53:54]could come and say let me go back that's it there's no
[54:04]going back so Allah says in the Quran everyone is a l
[54:14]except several categories except the time that you had believing in Allah
[54:18]subhana tala that's going to help you and they do good deeds
[54:26]and stand for righteousness and Justice and being patient if you could
[54:32]identify times in your life where you had these four categories four
[54:38]qualities applying to your life then that's going to be a time
[54:41]and a moment that you will not regret but if we were
[54:45]just spending our life scrolling scrolling good exercise for the thumb and
[54:53]watching other people live their lives watching other things that are Haram
[54:57]things that could potentially ruin my marriage ruin my family ruin my
[55:00]health my mental health ruin my spirituality it's not going to help
[55:05]me so this is yeah a lot of time is spent wasted
[55:12]in fact ACC on average 2 hours and 23 minutes every day
[55:18]this is the average I know some people probably 7 eight hours
[55:23]2 hours and 23 minutes every day is wasted on on social
[55:30]media platforms and Everyone by the way you could you could go
[55:33]and see how much you've spent on social media right now with
[55:35]these smartphones you could just go and see how long have you
[55:39]spent on each app some of it is a little bit you
[55:42]know we probably wouldn't want people to know how much we've spent
[55:47]because it's embarrassing probably so this is um with regards to time
[55:52]being spent and finally one of the dangers of social media is
[55:58]it causes a spiritual disease when we're always looking at what other
[56:03]people have when we're always looking at the materialistic aspect and dimension
[56:07]of people's lives now if I'm spending my time listening to Dua
[56:15]Dua Abu Hamza Dua Joan reading Quran then there's nothing wrong with
[56:18]that that's going to be useful but if I'm spending my time
[56:21]hours and hours every day looking at for example cars looking at
[56:25]houses looking at Furniture looking at these things it might not be
[56:31]it's not Haram no one said it's Haram to look at these
[56:33]things it might not be something that Isam but we are distracting
[56:39]our mind and we're distracting our heart from something you from Allah
[56:45]subhana tala by looking at something that's not going to really help
[56:48]me instead what is it going to do instead it's going to
[56:53]make me Chase this D more it's going to make me be
[56:57]some someone who's always looking at what other people have and Allah
[57:02]subhana wa tala says and do not stretch your eyes at what's
[57:19]in the hands of other people at what other people have even
[57:29]the beauty of this why because we're testing them with it you
[57:35]know your your neighbor or your friend that has that nice house
[57:40]that has that fast car that has all of these nice things
[57:42]it's nice but they're being tested with it as well so if
[57:49]I don't have that maybe I should be thankful that Allah subhana
[57:51]tala at least is not testing me with this my test is
[57:56]going to be with something else and a lot of times now
[57:58]once again I say it's not Haram to have dun and to
[58:02]have the pleasures of this duny in fact it's actually recommended for
[58:06]a father to make the family be comfortable to have a big
[58:09]house to be to have everything that you need in your life
[58:14]but sometimes some people that's how they define success that's the only
[58:18]way of defining success is just through materialistic aspects in life just
[58:22]through the car that they're driving or the house that they're living
[58:26]in that's their only only way of defining success and that becomes
[58:30]wrong because now as a result of looking at the materialistic lifestyle
[58:35]I've put myself in a trap now that's how I define success
[58:41]that's how I Define failure that's how I Define my life I'm
[58:44]going to only be aiming to have that life and then it
[58:48]makes me be someone who's always looking at what other people have
[58:53]maybe I start losing the Gratitude and what Allah subhana tala has
[59:01]given me and thei of he says the one who's always looking
[59:13]at what other people have this person his H his sadness is
[59:15]going to be forever why because there's always going to be someone
[59:19]that has something nicer than you always you buy you bought a
[59:25]new car next month your friend is going to go buy a
[59:27]newer car and your car is going to be the old car
[59:31]now you bought a new house in a few days in a
[59:36]few weeks someone's going to go buy a newer house and your
[59:38]house is going to be old so constantly looking at what other
[59:44]people have says meaning this person's always going to be sad always
[59:50]going to be regretful why don't I have this why don't I
[59:55]have that and it creates a problem and and this is the
[59:57]capitalistic system capitalism this is what it does they tell you it's
[60:05]okay go and get a loan pay 9% pay 4% 5% interest
[60:06]get a loan and buy this couch get a loan and buy
[60:10]this phone get a loan and buy this whatever it is even
[60:13]they forc people to go and get loans so that they could
[60:18]have that picture perfect life and then they could post it on
[60:21]their Instagram page and show the world show their friends and then
[60:24]when they don't get the enough likes that they want they become
[60:29]upset and they become angry and it causes problems because there's always
[60:33]going to be someone on social media that's going to get more
[60:36]attention than you there's always going to be someone that's going to
[60:39]get more likes and more hits than you and if you always
[60:45]are putting yourself in that mindset that this is how I this
[60:47]is how I judge my success in life then no one's going
[60:55]to be successful so social media could be good if it has
[60:59]a positive impact on your life if you are able to have
[61:03]a positive impact on someone else's life maybe you could teach someone
[61:08]about the religion of Islam maybe you could teach someone some valuable
[61:12]things in life that could be a good thing but if you
[61:14]become someone who's falling in the Trap of social media where it's
[61:21]just wasting time looking at the lives of other people and just
[61:25]doing things in your own life life instead of focusing on God
[61:29]being pleased with you and your family and you being happy but
[61:35]you're doing it just for other people then it becomes a miserable
[61:38]life it's not worth it anymore so this is with regards to
[61:42]social media and the distorted realities we ask Allah subhah wa ta'ala
[61:48]to protect us all from the challenges of the time and every
[61:51]day and every year the challenges are going to become more and
[61:56]more difficult so we have to be very careful we have to
[62:01]ask Allah for protection and we have to do what we can
[62:03]to protect ourselves and to protect our families protect yourself and protect
[62:17]your families from the Hellfire we ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to
[62:23]bless you all let us raise our hands in Dua [Music] [Music]
[62:54]for [Music] [Laughter] muhamed we s
