[0:25][Music] foreign foreign all right [Music] did you send the link okay
[1:54]alhamdulillah respected brothers and sisters inshallah we are beginning the second course
[2:22]of a 10-week course talking about Islamic beliefs and a recap of
[2:31]last week's session so that will refresh our minds and then we'll
[2:34]go into what we're talking tonight so we began by talking about
[2:41]how the search for a higher power is something that is within
[2:49]our innate Consciousness it's within our fitra this is why you see
[2:53]people all over the world ever since the beginning of time people
[2:56]have been worshiping now whether they're worshiping the Sun the moon the
[3:02]stars whatever it is there have been worshiping and that is because
[3:06]they're driven by something the way we've been programmed we've been driven
[3:11]to find a higher power and the reason for that we mentioned
[3:15]there are two what Scholars point out they are to show thanks
[3:22]and appreciation for the blessings coming my way so I worship more
[3:27]and to remove any harm so people before they even know who
[3:33]God is they just know that they have a need a drive
[3:39]to worship for these two reasons thinking and removing any harm as
[3:43]a sense of protection so this is why people have been worshiping
[3:48]and then we mentioned that although you don't really need a proof
[3:53]to prove God but we mentioned three proofs and there are many
[4:00]that philosophers and Scholars point out the first we mentioned the intelligent
[4:03]design argument you look at the creation you look at the cosmos
[4:09]system from the smallest most minute of God's creation to the largest
[4:13]you see that everything has been created with sophistication with with their
[4:20]Precision very clear Precision if there is one thing that's off then
[4:25]the whole picture falls apart imagine a puzzle a puzzle that has
[4:32]a hundred thousand pieces if one piece is missing this puzzle is
[4:38]not going to match this puzzle is not going to work there
[4:41]are everything in this life it's all a puzzle your your DNA
[4:47]the way your eyes work the way the moon the Sun the
[4:52]Stars the solar system the nervous system the respiratory system all of
[4:57]these systems that Allah has created these are all systems that are
[5:01]very precise in the way that they have been made in the
[5:05]way that they have been created in the way that they have
[5:08]been engineered so today you find some people they say oh this
[5:12]just happened by chance you know that the likelihood mathematically the likelihood
[5:18]of this universe falling into place by chance is something that you
[5:24]can't even accept the the mind and the logic cannot accept imagine
[5:30]just imagine this imagine winning the lottery or imagine winning a yes
[5:38]imagine uh winning the lottery that has a trillion pieces a trillion
[5:44]numbers they all have to go in order and you have to
[5:48]win that Lottery a trillion times is that possible is that something
[5:51]that could happen now someone could say yes it is possible it
[5:56]could have happened but how much time would it require for it
[5:59]to happen they say Evolution every couple million years every millions of
[6:03]years there's a there's a switch there's there's a change so how
[6:08]long does the universe have to be for all of these changes
[6:13]to take place for all of these changes to happen and everything
[6:16]has to fall in order everything has to fall correctly all together
[6:21]so this is why this is why we we say that it
[6:28]is it's impossible the chances of everything happening in chance are very
[6:33]very minute and and it's very impossible because there's so many pieces
[6:38]that all have to go in correctly and it's not just one
[6:41]puzzle like imagine someone says I won the lottery what's the chance
[6:46]of you winning the lottery once in your life now imagine you
[6:49]have to win the lottery trillions of times all all in order
[6:54]right back to back right right after one another that's something that
[6:57]is you know the age of this universe they say it's not
[7:00]even long enough for all of that to happen so this is
[7:04]why when we look at the universe we look at the design
[7:09]we look at the structure of the universe we say someone has
[7:11]to have put it together just like you look at a watch
[7:14]you look at a car you look at anything you say someone
[7:16]has to have engineered it the same with this creation second we
[7:23]said the contingency argument the contingency argument meaning that everything has to
[7:28]have a cause everything is contingent upon something else okay I came
[7:33]some something that was mumkin and brought me my parents and someone
[7:37]brought them and brought them and brought them but eventually you have
[7:41]you can't have infinite regression you have to go to a point
[7:48]where there is where there is a beginning otherwise for how long
[7:51]are you going to go infinitely you can't keep going infinitely I
[7:56]came because my parents their parents their parents you can't go infinitely
[7:59]there has to be a starting point scientifically there has to be
[8:03]a starting point that starting point we say is God that starting
[8:09]point is and the third we said it's the Pascal's wager which
[8:12]is that it makes more sense to be ready makes more sense
[8:18]to be prepared because the if if let's say there was no
[8:23]God we're not going to lose anything we and those who say
[8:25]that there is no God we're all the same but if there
[8:29]was a god which there is a God we have so much
[8:32]to win and the one who says there's no God has so
[8:35]much to lose so it even makes more sense to believe and
[8:40]follow Allah so now does anyone have any questions regarding what was
[8:46]already covered from um from the previous session from the previous session
[8:50]we did not use Quran we did not use Hadith we don't
[8:54]need to use anything to prove that there is a higher power
[8:56]that has created us now today we move on to talk about
[9:04]the qualities of this higher power so wait first of all could
[9:08]there be more than one God so we prove that there's a
[9:12]Creator now what if there's more than one Creator what if there
[9:15]is an army of creators what if there's 20 what if there's
[9:21]30 second this Creator who is this Creator what are the qualities
[9:25]what are the safat of this Creator can it be the sun
[9:27]can it be the moon can it be a cow can it
[9:29]be the Stars we've just proved that there's a need to have
[9:33]a Creator Now we move on to go and talk about the
[9:36]qualities of this Creator and this is where we see the Quran
[9:41]and the Hadith and the words of the Prophet they come to
[9:43]explain the Quran as we mentioned last week it doesn't Focus so
[9:48]much attention on proving that there's a Creator because this is something
[9:53]that is this is something that is within your own Consciousness your
[9:56]mind your mind will come to the conclusion that something must there
[10:01]everything that has that happens there has to be a cause behind
[10:03]it and you keep going back to the cause until you go
[10:07]to the highest cause and that is Allah but where people confuse
[10:12]is how many creators and what are the signs and qualities and
[10:17]characteristics of this Creator and this is why we see the Quran
[10:19]it focuses on tohed for example or it focuses on describing Allah
[10:26]and Allah says in the Quran God has the beautiful names the
[10:34]qualities and characteristics so no God through those characteristics and we have
[10:41]Hadith Sunni Hadith that say that God has 99 names we know
[10:46]the 99 Names of Allah the Hadith says that the one who
[10:53]memorizes and truly comprehends and understands and has full marifa of these
[10:58]names this person goes to Paradise so when you study the names
[11:01]of God study what it means and then you will be closer
[11:05]to Allah you'll be able to understand Allah better so when we
[11:10]go to the fitra the when we go to monotheism the belief
[11:15]the one God first of all what does this mean and how
[11:20]do we prove that there is one God so inshallah this is
[11:22]what will we will be focusing on tonight in the previous session
[11:28]we proved that there's a Creator now we need to come and
[11:30]talk about the qualities and the safat of this Creator is it
[11:34]the sun is it the moon is it the stars is it
[11:38]a cow is it this or is it Allah and what are
[11:39]the qualities of Allah so one tohed it means that God is
[11:47]Not composed of Parts like the way you and I are composed
[11:50]of parts I have a head I have a body I have
[11:54]hands I have legs I have a heart I have lungs I
[11:57]have kidneys I have all of these things that make me who
[12:01]I am you put them together they make me who I am
[12:03]God is Not composed of parts because the moment you say God
[12:09]is composed of parts that means God is in need of his
[12:11]parts that means God is in need I need my help to
[12:14]survive I need my heart to survive if my heart fails I'm
[12:16]going to die so I'm in need of certain uh certain organs
[12:22]I'm in need of many things in life I'm in need of
[12:29]people Allah is not in need of anything and second God is
[12:32]Not composed of parts and God does not have a partner there's
[12:38]we can't believe we can't say that there are multiple gods in
[12:41]the universe uh what the polytheists say that means there's more than
[12:45]one God so how do we know that there is one God
[12:48]and not multiple one there are several proofs for this one is
[12:56]that the Creator the one who created remember we said there's there's
[13:01]the mumkin and then there is so everything in this universe that
[13:11]has been created is because one of the signs of mumkin meaning
[13:15]something that is possible to be and possible to not be what's
[13:18]something that's possible to be impossible to not be anything that's born
[13:22]anything that's born means that at one point it did not exist
[13:28]anything that dies because at one point you're not gonna be you're
[13:32]not gonna be around so when we say the Creator the Creator
[13:37]is the one whose existence has to always be the one who's
[13:43]always been around must exist at all times is not born and
[13:50]does not die and the qualities because if you say he died
[13:53]or if you say he was born then that means there must
[13:56]have been someone before him right and if you say he died
[14:01]then that means there's no God then that means where that means
[14:05]he is also so this who died needs to go back to
[14:12]something that brought it into existence so the way meaning the one
[14:16]that is necessary to be is the one that is that does
[14:20]not die and is not born he's the original one remember we
[14:23]talked about the contingency argument you said you keep going back until
[14:26]you reach the the original initial Creator who was not born and
[14:33]who does not die the the qualities and the signs of the
[14:43]one who created the one who's always been around has to have
[14:50]power and Authority in order to create right you have to have
[14:53]power in order to create and we're saying there must have been
[14:56]a creator that Creator who created everything that is contingent everything that
[15:01]goes and comes everything that is born and dies must have some
[15:07]sort of power right the one who created has to have power
[15:10]that word is omnipotent omnipotent means the one who has absolute power
[15:15]and absolute Authority in order to create the one who created the
[15:18]sun and the universe and the stars and everything has to have
[15:24]power this is one second the one who created has to have
[15:27]knowledge you go and you look at the creation you see subhanallah
[15:34]someone must be extremely sophisticated and knowledgeable in order to create this
[15:36]bird in order to create this egg in order to create me
[15:40]and you and life and everything all of these cycles and functions
[15:43]in the universe someone has to have knowledge in order to have
[15:48]created them and third this Creator is omnipresent so I'm omnipotent all-powerful
[15:55]omniscient all knowledgeable omnip present meaning always present and everywhere so when
[16:05]we believe in that when when we believe in that can you
[16:11]have more than one with absolute power the God is the one
[16:19]that has absolute power he's the one who has created if I
[16:21]say that there's another God that has absolute power then what does
[16:27]that mean that means that one of them does not have power
[16:30]because you're saying has absolute Authority the moment you say there's two
[16:35]gods that means one of them is either either they're both the
[16:40]same either they're both they have the highest power and this is
[16:45]the argument either they're both the same which which means that one
[16:49]is limiting the other one is limiting the other or they're both
[16:55]weak that means they're both they're both not God so then you
[16:58]have to conclude that one has to have more power than the
[17:02]other and the moment you say one has more power than the
[17:04]other the one that has the more power is the God and
[17:07]the one that does not have power is not God because God
[17:11]by definition is the all-powerful all present always around always uh the
[17:18]one who has all the knowledge and this is one of the
[17:23]arguments that Imam used and of course we will we will discuss
[17:25]several others but I just wanted to mention this Hadith this man
[17:30]this atheist he comes we mentioned him last week who we mentioned
[17:39]he ended up believing in the Imam he ended up believing in
[17:44]God he kept until the rest of his life he did not
[17:46]believe he was the one who who the Imam used the Pascal's
[17:52]wager argument with this man he comes to him and he tells
[17:57]him and Allah he tells the Imam don't you say that God
[18:01]created everything yes so he comes and he says I also create
[18:09]so the Imam tells him how do you create he says I
[18:15]go and I defecate somewhere the feces I leave it for a
[18:20]while and then you see there's going to be worms in it
[18:22]and there's going to be bacteria growing on it and worms he
[18:27]said this is what I did this is this is this is
[18:28]a byproduct of me he tells him he tells him that Allah
[18:39]is doesn't the creator of something know about his creation if you
[18:48]created something you must have full knowledge of it right so he
[18:53]said yes the creator has to have knowledge then the Imam tells
[18:56]him do you know when you see worms do you know the
[19:02]difference between the male and the female and the worms and do
[19:06]you know their ages the man stayed quiet because he doesn't know
[19:09]so he is not the Creator there are people they think they
[19:15]have some sort of power and then they come and they assume
[19:18]that they have authority but Allah is the absolute creator so God
[19:23]is not limited God is not limited by space God is not
[19:29]limited by time God's knowledge is not limited God's power is not
[19:32]limited the moment you say there is another deity there's another God
[19:36]then that means you're limiting you're limiting God that's like saying there's
[19:40]two presidents at the same time of one country you can't because
[19:46]one's Authority is going to overstep the authority of the other and
[19:50]this is something that if we say God's Authority and power is
[19:55]limited then he would not be God anymore this is what second
[20:00]how do we know that there is one creator so the first
[20:05]the first argument is that one if there's two then the authority
[20:10]of one and power of one will limit the power of the
[20:13]other and God is not limited by definition a second way to
[20:17]know that there is one Creator is by looking at the creation
[20:20]looking at the marks of a creation right now when you see
[20:26]for example phone's operating system you look at an Apple phone right
[20:32]away what do you say you say this is made by Apple
[20:34]you look at Android right away you're going to say this was
[20:39]made by Android you know who is the maker of that which
[20:43]was made that creation that object that you look at you're going
[20:46]to know who made it when you see it now when we
[20:51]look at the creation when we look at the universe you might
[20:56]see isolated Parts you might see for example things that are on
[20:59]their own different parts but if you look at it from a
[21:06]holistic perspective if you look at the overall picture you see that
[21:09]everything is connected with one another right now for example someone could
[21:15]come and say we look at the respiratory system in a body
[21:18]then we come and we look at the for example the vascular
[21:21]system we look at the lungs we look at the we look
[21:24]at all these systems that a person has but then later on
[21:30]you come you see that they're all interconnected they're all intertwined you
[21:33]look at the Moon you look at the stars you look at
[21:38]the sun the sun has a correlation with the Earth and the
[21:40]Earth has a correlation with the moon and the moon with the
[21:44]Stars and everything is connected the way the ocean works the way
[21:47]the everything is connected you might look at things and you say
[21:50]that this is on its own but it has an impact on
[21:55]something around it everything is synchronized everything is one system when you
[21:59]look at creation you see that it's all system it's not different
[22:02]parts you look at the rain the clouds the Earth the grass
[22:07]the plantation photosynthesis the way plants grow they need air they need
[22:12]the sun they need the Earth they need all of these things
[22:15]in order to function so when you see there's all one system
[22:18]it's not multiple systems creating to get living together there it's all
[22:26]one system functioning all together so when you look at one system
[22:29]what do you conclude what do you conclude you see one system
[22:36]you conclude that there is one creator that we don't see multiple
[22:41]systems in front of us if you see multiple systems right now
[22:45]a doctor they in medical school they come and they study the
[22:49]body the anatomy of the body then they come and they apply
[22:54]what they've learned on hundreds and thousands of bodies because it's all
[22:59]one system the the body that you're looking at right now that
[23:02]you're studying right now it's been created by the same Creator it's
[23:05]all one system and therefore that is the one Creator and Imam
[23:11]he says he says when we look at creation we see everything
[23:19]is synchronized everything is organized find me something on earth that is
[23:26]a creation that is not that is not connected to something else
[23:29]something that is absolutely on its own everything is connected to something
[23:35]else and that thing is connected to something else all of it
[23:39]is one system everything is connected so the moment we see the
[23:46]creation it's all muntavam it's all organized and when we look at
[23:52]the solar system we look at the moon the stars the function
[23:54]of the Earth the way that the way the Earth revolves around
[23:59]itself the moon revolves around the earth the Earth revolves around the
[24:02]Sun all of that you come in you see there's a function
[24:05]there's a plan and it's being executed there's a plan in play
[24:11]with and you see that there is one organization the night and
[24:18]the day and the Sun and the Moon when you see it
[24:30]it's all synchronized it's all organized they're all functions correctly you come
[24:34]and you say there's one Creator because if there's two operating systems
[24:39]if there's two operating systems there's going to be a clash they're
[24:44]not going to function the way that they do function but when
[24:46]we look at the creation we see everything is in order everything
[24:51]is working together therefore we say there's one operating system and there
[24:53]is one Command Center and that is Allah and this is what
[25:01]Allah says in Surah verse 22 Allah says Allah if there were
[25:09]more than one Allah if there was more than one deity then
[25:14]you would see everything would collapse you would see everything would crumble
[25:20]does anyone have any questions I'm going to pause yes doctor if
[25:25]you're on Zoom if you have questions also feel free to ask
[25:31]yes dot X okay like for example a cow a idol or
[26:01]whatever an idol whatever okay okay if I don't have access to
[26:15]the Quran that describes to me Allah I wouldn't be ourselves believing
[26:21]in everything you said you said button no because what we said
[26:25]we we said that the khaler has to be the all-powerful has
[26:31]to not be born and not die everything everything you look at
[26:39]the sun the people who worship the sun Stars they come to
[26:42]life and they die Stars die so if you're worshiping the sun
[26:46]and the Sun dies if you're worshiping the moon and the moon
[26:50]this is the argument of Ibrahim he saw the sun and then
[26:56]he saw the stars and then he saw kokab he said my
[27:00]Lord is a lord logic cannot accept that a Lord has weakness
[27:03]or limit so the moment you say that my Lord is whatever
[27:10]anything else that people worship other than God that is limited God
[27:15]by definition is the power that is unlimited the power that is
[27:23]the power that did not come to be born but rather brought
[27:26]everything but we don't we do the Quran helps us understand this
[27:33]but your logic and your mind will accept this argument meaning just
[27:39]like someone might not know a mathematical equation but you come and
[27:42]you explain it to them you'll come and you explain it to
[27:48]them it will make sense to them that's probably the only resource
[27:54]that tells me this higher power that I believe exists and have
[27:59]all these capabilities it is Allah but if someone don't have access
[28:02]to Quran how would they they know they'll they'll know but I
[28:04]mean yes right now we are blessed that we have the Quran
[28:08]to guide us and show us the way but the the Quran
[28:11]if someone for example does not want to use the Quran and
[28:17]they just want to use logical arguments you can use logical arguments
[28:21]to conclude that there's a Creator we use in the last session
[28:23]we used all logical arguments to conclude that there is a Creator
[28:26]right you you agree with me on that okay so now we
[28:31]also said that this creator has to be powerful this creator has
[28:36]to be Unlimited the moment you come and you say that my
[28:41]this Creator is something that has been born like a people that
[28:48]worship right now or something that has been born or an idol
[28:51]that they make is that either limited or unlimited let them think
[28:56]about it it's limited don't use the Quran is that Idol limited
[29:00]or not limited it's limited is that cow limited or not limited
[29:03]it's limited is the sun limited or not limited it's limited so
[29:06]your logic is going to guide you yes you might not know
[29:13]God is all of these details this is why the job of
[29:17]the prophets says God sent prophets to bring out what is already
[29:26]engraved within us what is already hidden buried within your intellect but
[29:31]sometimes we just need something to come and show us the way
[29:33]and the Quran does not invent these Concepts the Quran remind them
[29:40]show them the way guide them so our mind comes and says
[29:45]there has to be a Creator this Creator cannot be limited everything
[29:49]out here is limited this means that everything that my I see
[29:52]everything that is born everything that dies this is limited I can't
[29:58]worship that I have to worship something that a power that is
[30:00]higher than that is that clear or is there more okay anyone
[30:05]else yes sister just second there's someone on Zoom go ahead yes
[30:25]do they worship the cow itself or they worship the characteristics of
[30:31]that car do they worship the sifat or the power behind them
[30:38]I'm not sure what they exactly worship um maybe we need a
[30:44]Hindu crash course but um he asked me what do they worship
[30:46]the people who worship cows but um no let me let me
[30:51]just finish because with me so I joke with him too we
[30:55]have this friendship so um they say they say they believe even
[31:00]the idol worshipers during the time of the Prophet they they worship
[31:08]God but they say these items these Idols this cow whatever it
[31:12]is we worship them because they bring us closer to God right
[31:21]yes okay okay so he said they worship Brahma who is the
[31:35]supreme power and everything else is like the attributes of God so
[31:39]God is loving caring they come and they see that this cow
[31:41]it is giving them food it is giving them milk it's giving
[31:45]them all that it it falls in place so anyways sister yes
[31:55]the Trinity we're going to explain it right now we're going to
[31:59]explain how we cannot accept the Trinity and that also doesn't make
[32:02]sense yes Ali excellent question we're going to go over some of
[32:12]these how are Christians monotheists when they when they say that there's
[32:15]it's three in one and you can't and the Quran says the
[32:21]one the ones who said God is the three in one this
[32:26]is a type of kufur now yes their their level of monotheism
[32:32]is higher is better than the polytheists but it's because even the
[32:37]polytheists even the mushrikeen of courage during the time of the Prophet
[32:39]they used to say we believe in Allah but they say these
[32:43]Idols bring us closer to Allah we worship them because they bring
[32:51]us closer to God so we're trying to say logic tells us
[32:54]that you cannot you cannot accept more than one God we mentioned
[33:01]we mentioned the first argument is that they're going to be limiting
[33:05]one another if this one is limiting this one then they're not
[33:07]going to be God anymore and the second one you look at
[33:12]the creation you look at the operating system you say this is
[33:15]Microsoft you say this is Apple this is Windows when you look
[33:17]at it right away you're going to know it we're trying to
[33:21]say that this whole universe everything everything in existence has the traits
[33:26]and the qualities of God has the marks of a Creator on
[33:29]it just like you look at a car you see the Mercedes
[33:33]sign on it you say this was made by Mercedes so everything
[33:36]in the universe has the prince of a Creator and that is
[33:43]the same Creator so that is how we go to one Allah
[33:45]the Third the um the third we we were mentioning whatever people
[33:54]worship other than God does not have the true qualities of God
[33:57]another point so for example you come and you say Jesus you
[34:02]come and you say an idol whatever it is that people are
[34:06]worshiping other than Allah does this have the fat and the qualities
[34:12]of the omnipotent omniscient omnipresent it doesn't Jesus was born Jesus is
[34:21]going to die if Jesus was born who was the god before
[34:24]Jesus if an idol is put together it's made and people are
[34:30]worshiping it now then where was God when this was made by
[34:34]a human being so everything out there that is in need cannot
[34:39]be God anymore God by definition is the one not born not
[34:47]dies and nothing resembles Allah uh in a debate with a polytheist
[34:55]Imam he tells him we say that there's a lord who is
[34:57]the creator and everything else is beneath this Lord so God is
[35:04]the creator so even right now when like if you were to
[35:10]talk to a Hindu you say how can Gods be at different
[35:13]level we would say the highest one the Creator that is the
[35:17]real God everything else is not the real God everything else has
[35:20]been created by that if they were both to be if they
[35:24]were both to be God then they're going to be limited excuse
[35:26]me yes go ahead brother was someone if you're you have a
[35:35]question go ahead okay please mute yourself if you don't have a
[35:44]question so here this is this is a one point another point
[35:50]is all prophets and Messengers now we we use the logical argument
[35:54]now we come to the prophets and The Messengers all the prophets
[35:56]and Messengers since the time of Adam until the time of rasulullah
[36:03]Musa Ibrahim Suleiman all of the prophets they called people to worship
[36:09]on God God sent prophets and Messengers the prophets their messages were
[36:19]synchronized their messages did not contradict one another foreign he says if
[36:41]there was another God then that God would have sent to prophets
[36:44]and Messengers to guide you as well right just like Allah sent
[36:51]Adam Ibrahim all of these prophets so if there was another God
[37:12]we would have heard about the other God we would have known
[37:14]the sign someone would have came and told us hey guys don't
[37:17]just worship Allah worship there is another God we don't hear that
[37:21]there's no real prophets and messenger that has come with real hajja
[37:25]and proof and later on we're going to once we reach the
[37:27]prophets we're going to talk about what are the signs of a
[37:31]prophet the prophet not anyone who comes and says I'm a prophet
[37:34]or anyone who comes and says worship this is a real Prophet
[37:38]yes Ali Jesus no Jesus he's going to be Bari Jesus he's
[37:48]going to say there's a there's an eye on the Quran Allah
[37:53]tells Jesus did you tell people to worship me Jesus said no
[37:58]I had nothing to do with this once you raised me then
[38:00]they started doing things that I have nothing to do with so
[38:04]and even even Christians right now when you study Christianity the real
[38:08]Christianity you're going to see that during the time of Jesus Jesus
[38:13]was worshiping God Jesus used to pray and he taught people to
[38:15]pray and he used to pray like us he used to do
[38:20]sujood he used to worship Allah it was about a couple hundred
[38:22]years after or a while later there was a conference that they
[38:26]had and that's when they declared that Jesus is God many years
[38:31]after Jesus they came and they said Jesus as God and the
[38:33]whole Trinity concept Okay so we mentioned that it is so so
[38:42]believing in one God it is also for three yes later on
[38:44]the Quran comes and reminds us but it is also the fitra
[38:49]that says there has to be a Creator and this creator has
[38:50]to be all-powerful all present all knowledgeable then there has to be
[38:56]one because you can't have two that are all powerful you can't
[38:58]have two that are always present yeah you can't have two that
[39:02]are all knowledgeable therefore there has to be one okay now when
[39:06]we say when we say God is one what do we mean
[39:12]we mean that God is one there's no other God there's no
[39:18]other deity but we also mean that God is Not composed of
[39:23]parts and this is where the Christianity comes into play this is
[39:27]where some Muslims today right now you go to bukhari you go
[39:29]to some Muslims they'll come and they'll tell you God has a
[39:33]body has hands and face and legs and all of these things
[39:38]so even some Muslims they have this kind of shirk there's levels
[39:42]of shirk so here we say that Allah not only is there
[39:49]no other deity not only is there's no other God there's no
[39:52]other power there's no one that has authority over creation other than
[40:02]Allah and this is there's there's something called The Hidden shirk right
[40:07]now when I get sick I come and I say this doctor
[40:11]is the best doctor he's the doctor that will cure me what
[40:16]is this this is a type of shirk because I've put all
[40:19]my hopes I put all my eggs in one basket I came
[40:23]and I said this doctor is going to cure me when who
[40:26]is it the one who truly cures me there is Allah we
[40:30]come and we put all our hopes and people and things that
[40:35]is a type of shook even though we believe in God but
[40:37]sometimes we live our life as if other people have authority over
[40:43]us or sometimes some people they come and they say you know
[40:47]something this person cast a spell on me this person did Magic
[40:52]this person jinxed me this person gave me the evil eye and
[40:55]you believe that that only that has an impact on you then
[41:00]that is also Haram because you're you're disqualifying Allah subhanahu ta'ala from
[41:05]the equation you're saying God has no impact on my life you
[41:09]have to always believe there's nothing that has an impact on my
[41:14]life other than Allah so now when we say God is one
[41:21]we mean that there's no other gods and then we also mean
[41:26]that God is one like right now me I'm one I'm one
[41:31]person but I'm not one in the sense that I'm composed of
[41:34]Parts billions and billions and trillions of parts and cells make me
[41:37]who I am that means I'm composed of parts I have hands
[41:42]legs a body head all of that I'm composed of Parts Allah
[41:45]Allah is not composed of any parts a beautiful Hadith and then
[41:51]we'll open it up to questions yes sister go ahead go ahead
[41:54]go ahead like you don't intentionally think like that like let's say
[42:00]you do think it is a Haram so you have to always
[42:03]try to cleanse yourself there's a Hadith that says the Shirk it
[42:09]is like a black ant on a the Shirk is hidden in
[42:15]the heart of an individual like the way a black ant is
[42:18]walking on a black rock in the middle of the night can
[42:23]you see that black ant so that means we all have some
[42:29]type of Circle Cafe in us and this is why we have
[42:31]to always try to purify purify our hearts you have to always
[42:36]this is why we always say Allahu Akbar what does Allahu Akbar
[42:39]mean it means God is greater than anything nothing else has has
[42:48]Authority has power Allah Akbar doesn't mean God is great because someone
[42:52]could say okay this is great that's great that's great God is
[42:55]greater than anything that my mind anything that I could imagine I
[43:02]have to always remind myself of that because sometimes we have that
[43:07]sure kill Cafe in us so this is mentioned he a man
[43:16]and the Battle of Jamal was one of the battles fought during
[43:29]his Khalifa there were three battles the Battle of Jamel the Battle
[43:32]of sophene and the battle of narawan in the middle of the
[43:38]battle a man he comes and he tells him you say God
[43:45]is one everyone they said what's wrong with you right now in
[43:51]the middle of the battle you come and you ask Imam Ali
[43:55]this question God is one and this is this is many years
[44:00]after the establishment of Islam this is in the Years 30 you
[44:04]know 30 or 29 after Hijra because or excuse me more than
[44:10]that this is close was killed in the year 40.
[44:14]so say he ruled for five years the first year months into
[44:16]the into his power the Battle of Jamal took place so they're
[44:22]all Muslim but this guy has question he says they tell him
[44:33]don't you see how Imam Ali is busy he's in the middle
[44:37]of he's in the middle of a barrel he's he's so occupied
[44:39]and you're asking him this question said leave him what do you
[44:49]have against him leave him foreign he says what this man is
[44:58]asking is why we are fighting them they say God they were
[45:03]Muslims there was the first Civil War they say God is one
[45:05]but they don't understand what God is one is and today many
[45:09]Muslims don't understand what God is on us when you go and
[45:11]you read bukhari and you go and you read what what this
[45:14]narration say the wahhabis for example they come and they say God
[45:17]has a physical body God sits on an arsh the way I'm
[45:22]sitting on this chair this is this it comes and it takes
[45:24]away from the torid then he tells him when you say God
[45:37]is one this could be divided into four categories two of them
[45:47]you can't say them for God this is Haram to say God
[45:51]is one having that in your mind and we will explain what
[45:54]it is and two yes they are okay to say so not
[45:59]everyone for as for the two that you cannot say about God
[46:12]what are they Allah when you say God is one in numbers
[46:22]meaning this is one this is one this is one this is
[46:28]one these are to say to in in numbers or or I'm
[46:33]worshiping God the one there's a second there's a third there's a
[46:35]fourth when whenever there's one there's always a second to it as
[46:38]well so that you cannot say about Allah because God is not
[46:50]one as in a numerical number meaning he's the first and then
[46:53]there's a second and then there's a third and there's a fourth
[46:57]like right now I say I was the first person who came
[46:59]here there's a second in person there's a third person there's a
[47:03]fourth person when we say God is one that's not what we
[47:07]mean so is that clear God is one as in a number
[47:14]he says don't you see that those who said God is one
[47:22]of three or the third of the three this is because they
[47:25]came and they said the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit
[47:30]they came and they they put God in a category of numbers
[47:33]this is one that you cannot say s and another that you
[47:47]cannot say about God is to say God is a type meaning
[47:51]we have the god of the son we have the god of
[47:52]the rain we have the god of the Moon we have the
[47:55]god like apples and oranges we have one apple okay we have
[47:59]one apple we have one orange we have one banana we have
[48:00]all you can't come and say God as in there's other types
[48:04]so in number you can't say and you can't say in the
[48:11]jinns and then he says because if you say there's this God
[48:21]and then there's another God that resembles then this is tashmi meaning
[48:26]that God resembles something and this is something that we cannot accept
[48:33]meaning nothing resembles Allah today and some not all some of the
[48:43]Sunni um Scholars and understanding of God they say that God is
[48:47]in the image of Adam God created Adam in his own image
[48:50]so they imagine God to look like a human being except he's
[48:56]more powerful this is why when when the Quran says or God
[49:00]will place his foot in the Hellfire they come and they say
[49:06]God has a physical body just like us it's just a different
[49:09]type no because the moment you come and you give God a
[49:15]resemblance then that is this is something that you can't come and
[49:19]add to Allah because you'll be limiting God you'll be limiting Allah
[49:29]however as for the two that you can say about God when
[49:34]you say Allah what do you mean his unique God is unique
[49:45]nothing looks like God nothing resembles Allah he is the one the
[49:51]unique one and be here and then he says as for the
[50:08]one meaning that he is the one meaning the one is a
[50:09]whole number can you break up a whole number you can't you
[50:14]you can't come and say for example God is composed of parts
[50:20]he is one that's it he is one he's not composed of
[50:23]parts and inshallah if next time when we come and say even
[50:27]please stop playing with the bottles when we say when we say
[50:31]God is one we mean that Allah is not composed of parts
[50:33]he cannot be he's not made up of any parts that's it
[50:39]right now I'm made up of Parts Allah is not made up
[50:45]of any parts any questions regarding this yes God does not have
[51:02]a physical appearance God is the light of the heavens and the
[51:05]Earth with a moment you come and you say God has a
[51:09]body God has a physical appearance then what are you doing you're
[51:13]limiting God right now I have a body can I be in
[51:18]China at the same time as I'm here I can't I have
[51:23]a physical appearance that means I I'm confined in one thing I'm
[51:29]confined in one place this is something it's not that we say
[51:31]God does not have a body it's something that La yomkin you
[51:36]can't you can't imagine it because the moment you imagine God has
[51:38]a physical body then you're going to imagine God in one particular
[51:42]place can you imagine God in one particular place if you limit
[51:52]God you say God has hands then that means he's in one
[51:56]place that means he's composed of parts that means he's in one
[51:59]particular location and this is something that you cannot attribute to Allah
[52:03]because the moment you say God is in one place then you're
[52:08]taking away his omnipotent you're taking away his knowledge you're taking you're
[52:12]taking away his power the power to be in another place you're
[52:15]taking away his knowledge the knowledge to see what other people are
[52:18]doing if God is here in the room with us then he
[52:21]won't be in in a physical sense and he has a body
[52:24]then he won't be in the room with other people somewhere on
[52:25]the other side of the world we say God is everywhere God
[52:30]is a power that we cannot imagine how today some people they
[52:34]come and they say okay if everything was born who created God
[52:39]or when was God these are all Concepts we mentioned last week
[52:43]the the concept of place the concept of time these are all
[52:49]Concepts that are a creation of Allah God created the concept of
[52:55]time he is the khalik of time so can I confine God
[53:00]to a concept that he created no God cannot be confined in
[53:07]a concept that he created Place objects matter something mattered that you
[53:11]could feel that you could touch that you could see this is
[53:13]created by God can I confine God to something that he created
[53:21]I can't yes we have narrations that say don't think too much
[53:25]of the essence of Allah because we are limited imagine trying to
[53:32]explain for example to an ant the concept of the internet Bitcoins
[53:35]trying to explain it to an end humans don't understand it let
[53:39]alone an ant so same with us our minds our capacity is
[53:42]very limited a man he comes to whom he comes to the
[53:46]Imam and he tells him I want to see God why can't
[53:49]we see God the Imam tells him look at the sun he
[53:52]looks up and then right away he brings his eyes down he
[53:55]tells him you can't see one of the small creation of God
[53:59]how do you expect to see God you can't even we can't
[54:04]even see the creation of Allah how do we expect to see
[54:08]God so Allah it's not that like it's an issue of we
[54:14]are limited and we can't see him God cannot be seen because
[54:19]the moment you see God then that means you're in one particular
[54:22]location and God cannot be in one particular location yes brother the
[54:39]throne and Kursi and the arsh these are all we believe that
[54:46]this is not this is not a throne that God sits on
[54:51]the throne symbolizes something right now when we say for the Quran
[54:55]comes with a lot of metaphors the Quran is full of metaphors
[54:59]when Allah says the hand of God is above their hand some
[55:05]people they come to take it literally meaning God has a hand
[55:11]but when I say hand what do I mean I mean power
[55:13]I'm in the authority of Allah is above their Authority when I
[55:19]say is a hobby person will come and look at this verse
[55:27]and say on the day of judgment and there's a Hadith bukhari
[55:30]mentions he says one day he told the Muslims you see this
[55:35]full moon this is how you will see the face of God
[55:36]on the day of judgment s the day the faces will be
[55:46]looking they will be looking to their lord we say from Imam
[55:49]Ali from Imam from the imams they come and they tell us
[55:56]no you can't look at God God is Not confined in one
[55:57]place what are they looking at then they're looking towards the mercy
[56:03]of Allah they're looking towards the compassion of God that's what people
[56:06]want otherwise you can't look at God Allah tells Prophet Musa you're
[56:12]never going to see me because Prophet Musa he had people with
[56:14]him he saved the miracle after Miracle after Miracle once they were
[56:17]saved they said we want to see God yes sister um so
[56:22]how do we cleanse ourselves from uh from the sin of shirk
[56:27]okay so this is also this question was asked online how do
[56:30]we stop ourselves from envisioning God so two separate questions um cleanse
[56:36]ourselves from shirk is we have to always remind ourselves there is
[56:44]nothing that has an impact on my life other than Allah today
[56:51]there are some people they they have they're always oh they're looking
[56:54]at me they're doing this this one cast a spell on me
[56:56]this is It's Haram to believe in these things to believe in
[57:01]magic someone oh they put a spell on me why because the
[57:03]moment I start believing in it then that means I'm believing that
[57:08]they are equivalent to God God has an impact on me and
[57:10]they also are going to destroy my life so we have to
[57:14]always believe that Allah has power and authority over everything you have
[57:18]Duos from swimming for against protection from all of these things and
[57:22]yes we ask God to protect us we ask Allah to protect
[57:28]us now sometimes someone can harm me someone could come take a
[57:34]gun and shoot me someone could harm me I'm I'm supposed to
[57:38]protect myself but I'm supposed to at the end in the back
[57:43]of my mind have faith that it is Allah Subhan that my
[57:45]life is in the hands of Allah my matters and life are
[57:49]in the hands of Allah surrendering to God that doesn't mean we
[57:52]don't fulfill our duties and responsibilities to protect ourselves but we have
[57:57]to believe that it is God that will ultimately protect us so
[58:02]you have tawakulan Allah but you still have to do your job
[58:04]it doesn't they don't go again they're not mutually exclusive how do
[58:08]we stop ourselves from envisioning God or if a good if a
[58:12]kid asks us what does God look like what should we say
[58:14]we tell them that God is something that we are too limited
[58:21]to imagine we cannot understand Allah we're a creation of Allah but
[58:25]the way Allah describes himself is God is the Noor God is
[58:32]the light God is the life that gives life to everything else
[58:36]a power something that we don't see it gives power and authority
[58:41]to everything else yes yes sister okay so how does Allah allow
[58:55]for example people that are Idol worshipers to continue to receive sustenance
[59:00]and for example they live happy and good things happen to them
[59:02]while they're committing a sin so there's two types of rahma there
[59:08]is so Allah created and yesterday we mentioned this in Surah let
[59:19]me let me um Allah created everything with his what's the difference
[59:31]between these two Rahman is the mercy that encompasses everything meaning everyone
[59:38]receives that Mercy the men the non-muckman the believer this is the
[59:43]mercy that makes the glue of creation meaning everything Allah created with
[59:49]this mercy and Allah says in the Quran meaning that God created
[60:00]God has authority over the throne God has full authority over all
[60:05]of his creation through his mercy so Allah created us to be
[60:10]tested in this life so he's not going to punish everyone right
[60:13]away that they do wrong there is some sort of Mercy that
[60:18]goes to everyone that's it this is automatically written down for everyone
[60:22]however that is the specific Mercy that is for the Believers that
[60:32]you will see that Mercy most of it 99 of it you
[60:36]will see it in the afterlife not in this life so in
[60:38]this life Allah is not going to punish someone who sins right
[60:43]away because the purpose of this life is it's a test imagine
[60:45]your teacher he sees you doing something wrong in the test and
[60:50]he comes and he punches you or he comes and he or
[60:52]he comes and corrects you it's a test it doesn't make sense
[60:56]so let let the test finish and then Allah will give me
[61:02]yes brother among all the languages second letter it will be Allahu
[61:21]and then if you remove the third letter it will be who
[61:24]so it's like whatever you do it's still pointing pointing to Allah
[61:29]yes and Allah inshallah in the next session we're going to talk
[61:33]a little bit yes brother the soul the soul is also something
[61:42]a spirit from Allah God gave us something our scientifically you can't
[61:49]understand the soul it's not something that is sensed so it's something
[61:53]that is metaphysical out of our senses and it comes from Allah
[61:56]we don't really know yes by the command of Allah so and
[62:11]then our knowledge is limited we can't comprehend what that is yes
[62:17]doctor um I'm I'm finishing up I don't have anything else yes
[62:23]um Okay so yes and then we as a Muslims believe that
[62:39]Allah won't be the case for someone um who live in a
[62:51]Arctic or in China okay I believe in this higher power and
[62:59]doesn't even heard about Islam um [Music] right in our belief that
[63:12]Muslims he's maybe mushri right you know he's not following Allah he's
[63:17]following something else so what what would be the case for that
[63:21]person you guys okay so Allah inshallah next week we're going to
[63:33]talk about some of the qualities of God Allah Allah Allah is
[63:39]just and when we say God is just it means Allah does
[63:47]not oppress no oppression whatsoever because he has knowledge therefore he doesn't
[63:53]oppress he knows everything so he you can't oppress when you have
[63:56]full knowledge so Allah does not oppress and Allah we believe he
[64:00]sent prophets and Messengers for all people a hundred and twenty four
[64:03]thousand prophets and Messengers so different people they received Revelation but now
[64:08]let's say there's a group of people first of all we don't
[64:11]know if they received the Revelation or not maybe they did receive
[64:15]a revelation we just have limited knowledge of that that's one second
[64:19]we believe that Allah will hold people accountable for what they know
[64:24]and for what level of knowledge they have so Allah is not
[64:28]going to judge for example a muttman who's read the Quran and
[64:34]read all the Hadith the same way with someone who was not
[64:37]was was did not receive that type of knowledge now there's two
[64:42]types of people there's one group of people they did not pursue
[64:45]the knowledge was available meaning sometimes sometimes you did not receive it
[64:53]the knowledge you did not have access to it sometimes no you
[64:57]did have access to it but you chose not to do it
[64:59]there's two differences but there's there's a difference between that let's say
[65:02]there's a group of people who did not have access and they
[65:06]did not have any shortcomings whatsoever and they tried to pursue the
[65:10]knowledge as best as they could Allah will judge them based on
[65:13]based on how what kind of a person they were at the
[65:17]end of the day the same fitra that tells you to worship
[65:20]God and find the truth we all have that we're all programmed
[65:24]with that to find the truth that same Allah is also going
[65:26]to judge them by their deeds did this person lied this person
[65:31]cheat did this person steal did this person oppress these are Concepts
[65:34]that we are born with you don't need to teach someone stealing
[65:36]is wrong you don't need to teach someone that abusing and hurting
[65:41]other people is wrong this is a universal concept that we have
[65:44]been programmed with so if a person is a good person Allah
[65:48]will know that and Allah will be able to judge them in
[65:51]in the correct way yes yes sister we have to believe that
[66:08]God is higher than all of them I seek refuge in Allah
[66:15]from everything every harmful thing in life so God is higher power
[66:19]God is a higher power than all powers out there so maybe
[66:22]someone's going to hurt me but God is higher than that if
[66:26]I believe God is higher than that then I'm not doing should
[66:27]but if I believe that this person will impact me and God
[66:31]cannot protect me then I'm done I'm doing shirk foreign
