[2:53]Avenger recite aloud muhamad my dear brothers and sisters two important characteristics

[3:10]every successor has to have I know I'm kind of skimming through

[3:15]all of these these are very in-depth discussions that require lengthy discourse

[3:20]but I just want to uh make sure that people have enough

[3:26]so as to develop a solid set of beliefs two characteristics that

[3:33]these prophets have to have number one they have to be the

[3:39]most knowledgeable is that too hard to accept is that too hard

[3:43]to believe I have gone in depth as to the requirements of

[3:48]the khif according to the Sunni School in the faia lecture series

[3:57]in a nutshell our belief is that they have to be superior

[4:02]in terms of their knowledge at the very least at the very

[4:08]least we could talk about bravery we could talk about uh their

[4:12]uh perhaps conduct with other people and we could talk about all

[4:16]these things but at the very least they have to be superior

[4:21]in their knowledge why number one because someone who is inferior shouldn't

[4:26]be in a position of leading others who are superior I mean

[4:30]it goes without saying it's the most basic logic plus Allah subhana

[4:35]wa tala says in the Holy Quran who is supposed to be

[4:45]the leader and the follower Allah says the one who guides to

[4:48]the truth is he not more worthy of being followed or the

[4:57]one who cannot guide until he himself is guided Allah subhana T

[5:02]then says what's wrong with you can't you understand this can't you

[5:06]fathom this this is basic logic the one who is Superior in

[5:13]his knowledge should guide everyone who is inferior to them the others

[5:16]tell us that no that's not necessarily the case he doesn't have

[5:19]to be the most knowledgeable sure it took him seven years to

[5:24]memorize a Surah and the Holy Quran but what's wrong with that

[5:26]right there are other people who memorize the Quran sure had to

[5:33]call on to multiple times and say may I never live to

[5:39]see the day when I have a problem and you're not there

[5:42]to help me well if is the one guiding you if he's

[5:47]the one teaching you shouldn't you get off that pulpit and let

[5:55]sit instead again basic rationality and logic so the IM has to

[6:02]have knowledge that is superior to everyone else so that's comparative knowledge

[6:08]number two he has to know everything about religion everything about the

[6:13]Quran so the minute aif says I don't know the meaning of

[6:17]this verse they said to him what is we understand that Allah

[6:24]says that we have given you fruits and ABA but what what's

[6:28]the meaning of this he said you will not be asked about

[6:32]this on the day of judgment get away from me he doesn't

[6:34]know the answer so he says no one should know the answer

[6:39]the minute the khif says I don't know the meaning of this

[6:43]verse I don't understand the application of that verse that Khalifa is

[6:49]automatically disqualified why because the of should know everything about the Quran

[6:54]should know everything about religion otherwise what's the point his position isn't

[7:00]just the position ition of an executive office where he appoints the

[7:05]chief of police and he appoints the head of the Border force

[7:07]and he appoints someone to be the minister of Education it's not

[7:15]that the ultimate job of the successor of is to guide people

[7:19]and teach them matters of religion so that's the first feature that

[7:25]the Khalifa has to have and we have plenty of evidence it's

[7:31]an Undisputed fact that that the were not only Superior to everyone

[7:39]else it's a shame that we even have to compare them to

[7:42]others or put the names of others in the same sentence as

[7:48]any member of the the household of Purity and infallibility of not

[7:51]just that but also they had knowledge of the Quran in its

[7:59]entirety and all of its multiple layers the most basic proof that

[8:03]can be presented in this regard is the holy prophet's statement they

[8:17]will never separate until they reach me by the pond of K

[8:23]if the had any lack or deficiency in their knowledge of the

[8:26]Quran they would be separated from it the fact that they're never

[8:29]separated means that they have complete dominance and understanding of the knowledge

[8:36]and science of the Quran that's just one proof so you can

[8:41]have something to take home with you inshallah the second thing that

[8:47]a successor has to have is to be infallible again the slightest

[8:54]mistake the slightest error the slightest Act of sin or transgression and

[8:59]this person becomes automatically disqualified because how he how can he be

[9:04]a guide how can he be a leader if he is someone

[9:09]who is prone to mistakes he has to be inherent he has

[9:14]to be free from sins and multiple verses in the Quran and

[9:17]traditions of the go to prove that this appli to none other

[9:24]than the family of no one else Allah subhah wa tala in

[9:29]proves unequivocally that the Allah subhah wa ta'ala verily surely absolutely there

[9:45]are five instances where Allah emphasizes this point the points of emphasis

[9:51]are absolutely incredible which just go to prove the conclusion that this

[9:55]is a serious matter that Allah subhah wa ta'ala is not just

[9:57]saying this in Allah only and [Music] surely this is a point

[10:08]of emphasis again point of emphasis all of this to mean what

[10:18]that he wants to purify you from physical impurities that your body

[10:23]will never touch we're talking about impurities right Allah wants to purify

[10:28]the from impurities what are these impurities that your bodies will never

[10:33]touch a stain of blood that your bodies will never come in

[10:36]contact with any physical impurity absolutely not this is something that's natural

[10:42]everybody comes in contact with physical impurities so the impurities we're talking

[10:49]about Are Spiritual impurities meaning sins transgressions Allah subhana tal wants to

[10:55]purify you in the most thorough purification so the Imam has to

[11:03]be infallible nobody even bothers to claim that the first three were

[11:08]infallible no one even tries that because their rrap sheet is so

[11:12]long it's like how do you even try forget it let's not

[11:16]even go there let's try and eliminate infallibility as a condition that's

[11:23]what they'll do no one so the same people tell you that

[11:26]this verse was revealed about the wives of the Prophet which of

[11:28]the w lives of the Prophet even at a time when they

[11:34]were at war with when did she come and say do you

[11:37]remember when Allah said about me no which of the wives of

[11:46]the Prophet ever claimed that they were infallible none and so again

[11:51]clearcut unambiguous unequivocal absolutely crystal clear even even if someone was good

[12:03]and moral and didn't commit any acts of sin how do you

[12:06]know what goes on in their private lives sometimes we be sitting

[12:10]together and there's a group of people you might see someone that

[12:14]you look up to that you respect because you see them as

[12:17]being incredibly Pious and M and so forth can you unequivocally and

[12:23]without any doubt claim that that person doesn't commit sins obviously he's

[12:27]not committing any sins in public but that he or she doesn't

[12:30]Comm Comm any sins in private of course not how do you

[12:35]know you just don't have knowledge about that number two if someone

[12:39]happened to be infallible at some point in their lives how do

[12:43]you know what's going to happen to them in the future how

[12:47]do you know whether they'll remain pure when they come to power

[12:52]when they sit on that throne and they begin to write executive

[13:01]statements and their word becomes the means with which others are killed

[13:10]their tongue becomes sharper than a sword how do you know that

[13:13]when they reach that position they'll maintain any sense of perceived Purity

[13:17]that they might have how do you know that I'll give you

[13:21]a couple of examples Abdul Malik IB Maran was someone who used

[13:27]to spend the majority of his time in the Masjid Subhan Allah

[13:30]he's reciting the Quran he's worshiping Allah he's praying prostrating bowing down

[13:37]doing all these great things until they came to him and said

[13:43]that your father has died and now it's your turn to become

[13:45]Theif he closed the Quran and he said see you later and

[13:51]it got to a point they even say that when he was

[13:55]you know in his Pious phase that he would walk in a

[13:57]manner so as to avoid on on on putting his foot on

[14:03]ants he's so compassionate he's like a proper tree hugger hipster type

[14:08]of person where he's like oh nature the environment let's not kill

[14:15]any ants and it got to a point where aah or a

[14:18]who was his advisor says that I went to him one day

[14:21]and I said look there are rumors your majesty that the Khalifa

[14:28]drinks alcohol just tell me that you don't so I can go

[14:30]out and say Theif himself spoke to me and said absolutely not

[14:47]I drink fresh blood and I do so in the holy month

[14:55]I do I even drink fresh blood I bring a 100 every

[15:00]night have them slaughtered and that I drink from their blood and

[15:05]you're telling me you're trying to protect my reputation who cares about

[15:08]my reputation who cares about what other people think I'm the king

[15:12]I get to do whatever I want another example AB muslimas I

[15:18]don't know if you've heard that name but he was an individual

[18:55]if you love us then you have to disassociate from him and

[19:01]you cannot combine Your Allegiance and your love towards us with Allegiance

[19:06]and love towards Abu Muslim I'll give you just one example of

[19:09]who this man is and what he did in his book says

[19:17]that Muslim caused the deaths of 600,000 people 600,000 all under the

[19:25]banner ofin there are many other examples of how people were one

[19:32]thing and it turned out that they were completely different but I

[19:36]want to mention this Hadith to you someone wrote to IM Zan

[19:39]he said to him uh why can't people choose their Imam for

[19:49]themselves because again the other school has a completely arbitrary mechanism right

[19:55]who gets to choose the Khalifa is it one person as the

[20:01]first Khalifa chose the second he appointed him or is it a

[20:05]council of people how many people should be in that Council what

[20:09]qualities should the members of that Council have nothing there's nothing the

[20:14]process the procedure is so halfhazard it makes no sense you'd think

[20:18]that if he wanted this system to be implemented that he would

[20:24]have left some instructions even if it's like vague instructions other than

[20:29]them saying that allowed him to lead that's it what about all

[20:38]the things that happened later on the third the second Khalifa then

[20:41]picks a council of six people he says the six have to

[20:46]choose my successor right and then he says that if the council

[20:49]was split into two so you had three on one side and

[20:54]three on the other side see which side has abdb then kill

[20:57]the other three based on what where are you coming up with

[21:03]this garbage from other than from your back pocket where no process

[21:10]nothing then the third khif gets killed everyone flocks to and they

[21:15]say there is no one else that can do this but you

[21:19]then is killed people go to Mu then from mu they go

[21:24]to yazid from yazid they go based on what exactly anyway he

[21:30]says to the Imam why can't we pick the Khalifa ourselves in

[21:36]other words why can't a group of really wise people let's say

[21:39]for example for argument sake a group of top ranking getting together

[21:43]and saying that this person shall be our leader and he shall

[21:47]represent the holy prophet the Imam said read the Quran Allah subhanahu

[21:56]wa ta'ala speaks about Musa and says that Musa chose from his

[22:03]people essentially the story in a nutshell is that mus came from

[22:07]the mount he told people that God spoke to me when God

[22:11]speaks to me what that means is Allah creates the sounds that

[22:14]Musa can understand it's not the voice of God per se but

[22:19]Allah creates the sound waves that's a simplified uh description of it

[22:25]so Musa says Allah spoke to me the Israelites said to them

[22:30]well you look like you're someone who's really proud of their achievement

[22:33]but how do we believe you so you have to take us

[22:38]so that we could hear the voice of God directly Fair suggestion

[22:45]believe in what you say we have to hear God speak so

[23:07]list down to 70,000 then from 70,000 pick the best among them

[23:12]and reduce the number down to 7,000 and from 7,000 choose the

[23:19]best 700 and from the 700 so you see how many filtering

[23:22]uh States they went through from 700,000 all the way to 70

[23:29]pick the best of the best the highest the most moral the

[23:33]most truthful the most knowledgeable of the 700,000 tribes of Israel or

[23:39]members of the tribes rather take those bring them to the Mount

[23:51]God speak to MSA when they came the Hadith says Imam Zaman

[24:11]heard the voice from six different directions after that Allah says in

[24:17]the Quran oh M sure we heard the voice of God but

[24:25]that's not going to cut it it's not enough we won't believe

[24:29]you until we see God himself Allah subhana says at that point

[24:35]I will send down my chastisement upon you they all died they

[24:43]all died having disbelieved after all of this Iman says to this

[24:46]person he says to him mus was a prophet he was infallible

[24:52]he was among one of the top messengers of Allah he filtered

[24:56]his people all the way down from 7 100,000 to 70 and

[25:02]yet he couldn't pick the ones who were good how can you

[25:04]do that how can you pick someone who's qualified how would you

[25:10]know whether this person's good or not whether he's knowledgeable or not

[25:12]whether he's going to remain good or not other than he was

[25:21]sitting in his house in his little Hut sewing his broken old

[26:53]cry for him they would mourn for him the Muslims lost 70

[26:58]people in the battle of so every District was crying for their
