[0:11]thank you very much it's nice to be here in your beautiful
[0:15]country your beautiful city New Zealand the city ofland alhamdulillah it's pleasure
[0:25]to be here and I was told that this is now your
[0:28]uh winter starting pretty soon this is winter I wouldn't mind to
[0:35]live here actually [Music] [Music] B [Music] [Music] Muhammad mamamad brothers and
[2:04]sisters in Islam we have what's known as the roots of the
[2:10]religion something called the roots of the religion are the fundamentals and
[2:15]the basis for this religion every Muslim needs to believe in this
[2:20]and there are five of them in the school there are five
[2:25]and the other school of thought there are three the first and
[2:28]foremost is the concept of and the belief in monotheism that this
[2:35]world this universe has a Creator God created it and this Creator
[2:41]is only one there's not two or three other ones and there
[2:47]are many things associated in the description of you can find them
[2:51]in the books of this is not the topic for tonight but
[2:56]that's one thing monotheism second is the belief the fundamental belief in
[3:05]prophethood so now that we believe that Allah subhana tala there is
[3:11]a God that God created us the next question comes what does
[3:14]this God want of us why did he created us how does
[3:17]he want to us to worship him if that's what he created
[3:22]us for so he send us prophets those individuals whom Allah subhana
[3:26]tala has chosen they're infallible beings who come to guide us so
[3:30]that's a second fundamental belief third in the school thought of is
[3:35]the fundamental belief in the Divine succession to prophethood IM that there
[3:40]are imams Divine successors to the prophet fourth the fundamental belief in
[3:47]the day of Resurrection that you know we live in this world
[3:50]we can do whatever we want but one day when we leave
[3:54]this world one day we will all be resurrected again and we
[3:56]will be held accountable for our actions it's not going to be
[4:03]just vanity whatever we do here it's done and that's it it
[4:05]doesn't make much sense so there has to be a day of
[4:09]resurrection and fifth in the scho again we believe in the Divine
[4:16]Justice Divine Justice that Allah subhana waala is divinely just in other
[4:22]words everything that happens in this world is out of Allah's Justice
[4:29]I remember one day a person asked you know this was back
[4:31]in the high school days a person said that you know if
[4:35]there is a God babies would not be dying today would not
[4:39]so so this individual the logic that this individual is using is
[4:46]that because children are dying is this indicates that there is no
[4:50]God now those of you who study logic and philosophy you can
[4:53]immediately tell this is an invalid argument the argument is not valid
[4:58]you have premise one premise two and the conclusion the conclusion does
[5:02]not support or the premises do not support the conclusion so obviously
[5:05]it's an invalid argum it's not even a sound argument but here
[5:08]we tell this individual that you know what take a look at
[5:11]a lot of the poverty that's happening in the world today is
[5:15]this a you know can we blame this on Allah can we
[5:17]blame it on God in fact we blame it on the greed
[5:21]human greed human is so greedy he's he's responsible for a lot
[5:24]of this that we observe today we cannot blame it on Allah
[5:30]subhana T nonetheless these five fundamental points are known as the roots
[5:36]of our religion with regards to the roots of our religion we
[5:40]believe in them and we can prove them excuse me using reason
[5:50]and logic we can believe in them without the need of me
[5:54]for example using a verse from the Holy Quran or a Hadith
[5:58]of the holy prophet no it's it's something that we can prove
[6:03]with reason and rationale that's why these five things in our faith
[6:08]we have to believe in them with conviction for example I believe
[6:15]that Allah is one because I'm convinced this is the truth not
[6:19]because for example my father told me this is the way it
[6:22]is so I love my father and I obey my father so
[6:26]I'll believe in this or because let's say for example The Scholar
[6:28]that I follow this that I follow tells me that there are
[6:31]prophets I have no these things in fact we have to believe
[6:35]in them ourselves we have to be convinced of what the truth
[6:38]is because it can be proved and I'm sure I'll come to
[6:42]that when it comes to however the branches of the religion like
[6:46]when it comes to Sal when it comes to when it comes
[6:51]to and so on so forth these things yes we either become
[6:55]Scholars ourselves jurists that we can figure F out what's right and
[7:02]what's wrong what's Hal and what's Haram or we follow a scholar
[7:05]and there's a third option we won't discuss it for the time
[7:09]being but nonetheless these are the common most most two common options
[7:12]either one studies to become a jurist or you follow aurist this
[7:18]is when it comes to with sometimes we have answers sometimes we
[7:23]don't have answers it's a matter of Faith because once you submit
[7:28]and agree that there is a God for example once you submit
[7:30]and agree that this God sent us prophets once you submit and
[7:35]agree that for example there are IMS and there's a day of
[7:37]resurrection and Allah is just now you [Music] submit that's it I
[7:50]submit everything my whole existence is to Allah subh whatever Allah tells
[7:54]me to do I'll do it that's what the branches of the
[7:59]for example a person might asked why is four I want to
[8:07]PR and three you can't Allah dictated Allah said that's the way
[8:14]it is finish why Allah knows best I submit I agree Allah
[8:17]is the greatest Allah is the now I submit he tells me
[8:22]Hal Hal end of story sometimes there is a reason that we
[8:26]become aware of sometimes there's no reason that we become aware of
[8:31]but this is a matter of submission that's why it is important
[8:34]in the religion to strengthen this Foundation The Roots the Roots that's
[8:40]really important and you find there is a great book by the
[8:45]name of those of you who read Arabic you can refer to
[8:48]this book by In This Book and there's another great book which
[8:51]has been translated to English called that book has been translated to
[8:55]English those two books are really great in them you'll find find
[9:01]a lot of discussions between IM and between some non-believers atheists in
[9:08]his times they were called so some people at the time of
[9:13]they rejected religion altoe and they used to come and question IM
[9:20]on a regular basis for example one day one of those individuals
[9:23]by the name of comes to meet he tells him he calls
[9:41]by his name he tells him show me my Lord show me
[9:44]tell me there's a God show me prove it to me IM
[9:49]had a son who was playing with an egg he tells his
[9:54]son can you pass this egg on to me please he passes
[9:58]the egg he says do you see this egg said yes he
[10:02]says look at this egg on the outside it has a hard
[10:08]shell said yes on the inside there is a soft shell says
[10:12]yes he says inside this egg there is a white fluid or
[10:21]a clear fluid and there's a yellow fluid said yes he said
[10:24]the yellow fluid does not mix with the white fluid or the
[10:29]clear fluid nor does the the white fluid mixed with the yellow
[10:32]fluid do you agree he said yes he said nor is there
[10:38]anything from our side that can go inside this egg to tell
[10:41]us whether this egg is good or bad we can't tell if
[10:45]this egg is good or bad nor is there anything that comes
[10:47]outside of this egg to tell us whether this egg is going
[10:52]to be a a chick or for example a male or a
[10:56]female you can't you can't nothing he says do you think all
[10:58]this happens by coincidence now although he was as in he was
[11:06]an unbeliever atheist yet he was a he was a scholar and
[11:10]there is a huge difference when you discuss with a or we
[11:12]discuss with with a scholar someone who uses logic and rational versus
[11:18]when you discuss with a J and by J ignorant I don't
[11:20]mean someone who has not gone to University no no no no
[11:24]no sometimes you might have this person with a PhD or even
[11:26]a Noel or someone who got the Nobel Prize but he's [Music]
[11:41]he's was one of those really well expressed in the Arabs time
[11:49]you know he was really good linguist very good in language one
[11:54]day he goes to the prophet and he tells him read to
[11:56]me some of your Quran the prophet reads verses of the Quran
[12:01]he comes to he says he says to them these verses whatever
[12:04]Muhammad is reading whatever he's reading this is not ordinary words I
[12:12]hear a lot of poetry and I know a lot of poetry
[12:18]this is not poetry this is something different so he realized these
[12:23]verses of the Quran is different yet he didn't want to believe
[12:26]in them what can you do there are people who are like
[12:30]that whatever you tell them they just won't accept that's why it's
[12:34]difficult to discuss with a J with someone who just will not
[12:37]accept someone who says it's my way or the highway someone who
[12:43]a stubborn that's why sometimes the IM someone used to come and
[12:47]ask them a question they would tell them ask the question of
[12:51]someone who wants to learn not someone who's arrogant and just wants
[12:56]to show that he is bright doesn't work that way I mean
[13:01]look at the world of Academia the academic world in many cases
[13:04]scientists do not agree in fact I'll give you an example in
[13:11]2005 in 2005 the Nobel Prize for chemistry was awarded to three
[13:17]chemists three of them for some experiment or for example for some
[13:21]invention they did in chemistry called metaphysis one of them the reason
[13:28]he won the Nobel Prize he was was included one of them
[13:31]is because he discovered the mechanism of the reaction how how does
[13:34]the reaction actually work he figured it out back in 1971 he
[13:40]figured out the mechanism he said this is how the reaction occurs
[13:46]at the same time at the same time the second person who
[13:48]also won the Nobel Prize he had proposed a second mechanism an
[13:52]alternative mechanism he himself so you had two people two mechanisms in
[14:00]1974 3 years later the second person conceded he said you know
[14:07]what I agree with the guy with the first guy his mechanism
[14:09]is more accurate than mine his mechanism is right my mechanism I
[14:13]proposed it but it's wrong that mechanism appears to be more accurate
[14:22]so I consent he's right many years later they both wondered about
[14:25]in fact a third person also was included but I'm trying to
[14:27]get at in the world of Academia you have people who have
[14:31]different opinions it happens one scientist says one thing another scientist says
[14:34]another thing one scholar says one thing another scholar says another thing
[14:38]however once the logic is shown once the experiment is shown once
[14:42]the proofs are laid once the logic makes sense us it's done
[14:48]and people can see this is it so why don't we apply
[14:51]the same principle when it comes to the discussion about Allah subhana
[14:55]wa taala about faith about religious matters let's apply the same principle
[15:02]here so here used this logic with was a scholar he was
[15:10]was said to he said nobody has ever used this kind of
[15:19]logic with me this makes really good sense and he says I
[15:26]submit I submit and he became he did and he said the
[15:32]second as well that's one example a second example of a beautiful
[15:37]discussion between also he discussed with a lengthy discussion you'll find it
[15:48]few pages long long discussion until the time of came when the
[15:56]time of came told he said I'm going to have to call
[16:03]it off now the discussion because it's the time of says wait
[16:10]wait says I'm I'm softening here you know I'm accepting your logic
[16:18]here you make sense IM says that's good but you're going to
[16:21]have to wait because it's the time of Sal look how important
[16:24]Salat is even when the IM is guiding a person person to
[16:30]Islam and the prophets if Allah were to guide one person through
[16:45]you it is better than having this whole universe what's this universe
[16:48]it will one day end finish your life will end and finish
[16:54]but if a person is guided through you this is not just
[16:56]one person this person will will get married he will have children
[17:02]his children will have so this will continue for generations to come
[17:05]until maybe the day of judgment that's an investment that's a true
[17:09]investment so even though IM was in this kind of investment where
[17:15]he could have [Music] guided which he was a very well-known debator
[17:21]and Scholar of his time IM tells him it is the time
[17:27]of Salah Sal comes so let us think ourselves you know how
[17:31]many of us actually take so much care of our Salah as
[17:33]well you know when it's the time of Sal how many of
[17:36]us say you know what let me go and stop what I'm
[17:41]doing here and say my few of or usually we come up
[17:43]with excuses let me finish my work let me finish my school
[17:47]let me finish this let me do that there is a rugby
[17:49]game or there's a football game let me finish the game a
[17:53]movie is playing Let me watch the movie or I'm playing my
[17:56]Xbox or whatever it is you're playing and so on so forth
[18:02]and we don't want to give it up for our nonetheless IM
[18:05]goes to pray comes back continues the discussion with until he does
[18:11]again and he says that's when it comes for example to proving
[18:22]that there is a God there is a Creator there is a
[18:27]Creator how could one accept the fact that this whole universe for
[18:31]example came through a coincidence came through a coincidence how can that
[18:37]be acceptable how can one accept such a thing when it's it's
[18:43]all so perfectly designed so perfectly laid off and then all by
[18:47]coin okay a coincidence occurs how many times once twice 10 times
[18:52]100 but a million times how is that even possible that's why
[18:56]there is a person who some mathematics by the name of William
[19:01]demsky williiam demsky he used the chaos theory those of you who
[19:07]studied math there was something called chaos theory he was a probability
[19:10]as well he says if you have for example I'm going to
[19:14]simplify what he said but if you have 10 pebbles in your
[19:19]hand 10 Pebbles and you number them 1 10 1 2 10
[19:21]then you throw them on the floor then you mark where each
[19:26]one of those Pebbles fell so 1 2 3 10 and then
[19:30]you collect them and then you throw them a second time what
[19:35]is the probability that each one of those Pebbles will fall exactly
[19:38]where it fell the first time it will land exactly where it
[19:43]landed the first time what is that probability so he did the
[19:47]mathematics he showed the probability is almost zero almost zero so so
[19:55]he said that if this is the case with mathematics this is
[20:01]mathematics La of math he said then how can I accept that
[20:04]this whole universe occurred through a random process that happened once and
[20:11]twice and 10 times and 100 times a million how is that
[20:14]possible that that's just unacceptable to me I just I can't take
[20:18]that a second scientist came who was a professor at one of
[20:22]the best universities in the United States called Lehi University Lehi his
[20:27]name is actually Michael beeh Michael beeh is a biochemist he studies
[20:36]bacteria now bacteria of course is a one cell organism you know
[20:38]just one cell you know we have billions of cells in our
[20:42]bodies B has just one but within this one cell you got
[20:45]so many machineries that exist in this one cell Subhan Allah this
[20:49]one little organism yet it's so complicated so this one cell he
[20:56]studied it very well and then he came to the conclusion that
[20:59]all all these machineries within the cell of the bacterium are so
[21:06]interdependent they need one another it would not just make any sense
[21:10]for one Machinery to exist without the other it would not do
[21:18]anything it can't once you put it all together then you'll have
[21:21]something functional and he says how is it possible that you had
[21:29]one Machinery in exist Sy and then it just had the they
[21:31]didn't do anything until an evolution process occurred for the second Machinery
[21:34]to exist and the third and the fourth says that's impossible I
[21:37]cannot accept that so he introduced and he's interesting he's a scientist
[21:44]pure scientist he introduced a theory that he called the intelligent design
[21:50]Theory intelligent design which means basically this whole universe has an intelligent
[21:53]designer someone who designed he says you can call him whatever you
[21:59]want God something else says that's irrelevant to him it's what do
[22:03]you call it but there is a designer intelligent designer so here
[22:08]we see interestingly scientists mathematicians using logic and philosophy to prove indeed
[22:17]there has to be a Creator there is a God it just
[22:19]can't be there has to be someone who created this whole universe
[22:25]and who planned everything that occurs through it and that's of course
[22:29]what is the difference between the creation of Allah subhana wa tala
[22:32]and the creation of a human when a human being creates how
[22:35]many times I don't know if you guys remember a couple years
[22:39]ago Toyota the big car company in the United States they made
[22:43]a huge recall remember the huge recall was like you know massive
[22:46]the biggest recall in the franchise history so they had to recall
[22:50]everything they made a mistake you may have a problem this is
[22:56]the creation of man it can have defects but Allah subhana tala's
[23:02]creation is perfect and that's why M when when asked him who
[23:08]is your lord when he asked him and Har both of them
[23:10]he said who is who's your god tell me because I'm also
[23:16]a God what's the difference between your God and my God and
[23:20]me I'm a God so you claim you have a God and
[23:24]I'm also a god let's see what's the difference between your God
[23:29]and Me interestingly the answer M gave he said my Lord God
[23:35]is the one who created everything created everything then gave it guidance
[23:45]gave it guidance you'll never see for example the sun saying that
[23:58]you know what I'm I'm too tired every day I Rise and
[24:02]you know and said rise and said I'm going to take a
[24:04]vacation for a week vacation I'll just go and never come back
[24:07]for a week or the moon says you know what I'm tired
[24:11]how come I come up at night and the Sun comes in
[24:14]the daytime I want to come in the day come as well
[24:16]how come this never happens if the moon is controlling itself then
[24:23]why wouldn't it do so if the Sun is controlling itself then
[24:26]why would it not do so it's controlling itself decides I I
[24:30]don't want to come up today I'm on break just like you
[24:35]guys taking a spring break and a summer break and whatever I
[24:37]want us to bring break as well how come this IM used
[24:43]this as an example that the sun does not have a control
[24:47]of its own it's not it doesn't control itself there there is
[24:50]someone who's controlling so you can see all this is a proof
[24:52]that there is a this all through logic rationale we're not using
[24:58]an Ayah from the Quran or aith from the for example from
[25:01]no it's all using logic reason you can prove it makes sense
[25:07]now there are people who say you know what this makes I
[25:09]agree I submit to it and there are those who no matter
[25:13]what you say to them they'll say I don't accept course what
[25:14]can you do to them what can you do the prophet s
[25:18]read this Quran to Abu he read it to him and he
[25:23]also read the Quran to look at how he how the Quran
[25:29]transformed him how the verses changed him from being a thief he
[25:35]was a thief before he became a Muslim he used to come
[25:37]up at night and steal from people from Caravans who used to
[25:41]walk in the deserts he was a thief this Abu he hears
[25:43]the Quran he listens to the Quran and all of the sudden
[25:48]this man becomes transforms transformation this is and ab he listens to
[25:58]the samean from the holy prophet the same Prophet s but at
[26:03]the time when he is dying he says when he's dying the
[26:11]prophet said even is better than at least when he was dying
[26:13]he said I believe in in the god of when he was
[26:18]dying say no I believe in the LA the idols so what
[26:24]is the difference what can you do is it our prophet's fault
[26:30]no of course not is it the Quan's fault no it's not
[26:34]otherwise how come you have and Abu accepted the logic he accepted
[26:40]the admonishment he was willing to take it in because it's logic
[26:47]rationale makes sense AB didn't want to accept even though he knows
[26:50]this is the truth that's why the Quan [Music] says there s
[26:58]agree to this they realize this is the truth they realize you
[27:05]know Brothers one day when I was doing my PhD I had
[27:06]a colleague I was telling the brothers today I had a colleague
[27:09]of mine who was doing his Masters he said to me you
[27:12]know one day we were just having a casual conversation he says
[27:15]you know this world is it you know once we die it's
[27:18]finished that's it you know once we live you know we live
[27:20]whatever we live in this world when we die and then interesting
[27:24]look what he said he said even though it's sad to think
[27:27]like this that's what he said it's sad to think like this
[27:30]so I told him you know subh the Instinct Allah has given
[27:34]the instinct to every human every human being realizes this is not
[27:39]it can't be the end it's so sad that's what he's saying
[27:44]I told him well you know what my friend it does not
[27:48]have to be sad if you believe that there is a God
[27:49]and there's a day of judgment then it's not sad anymore then
[27:53]there will be justice justice will be served this person who comes
[27:56]and kills a million people for example these dictators that we see
[27:59]in the world and then he takes the gun and shoots himself
[28:04]that's it it's done finish is that it where is justice there
[28:07]but if we believe that no there is a day of judgment
[28:11]this man will be held responsible for the million that he killed
[28:14]this is like one day he bring somebody a dictator also a
[28:22]dictator of this timean was the he appointed as the governor of
[28:31]Bas then the governor of then the governor of KU the guy
[28:34]was very well multitasking yeah multitasking and he says abik Maran this
[28:42]is what he says his his quote he [Music] says he says
[28:51]if every nation if we have a competition in the world today
[28:56]who is the worst of every nation no go to Every Nation
[28:58]tell them bring us your worst guy he says and we present
[29:02]Al ha will win no competition there's no competition ha this is
[29:06]this is what he's saying about him and he appoints him as
[29:10]the governor nonetheless ha One Day brings a man and he tells
[29:13]him choose how do you want me to kill you today what
[29:17]what what how would you like me to kill you democracy we
[29:21]have democracy no problem I'm going to kill you either way but
[29:24]choose I'll give you the option this person looked at him and
[29:29]he said it's up to you how do you want Allah to
[29:31]kill you how do you want Allah to kill you on the
[29:33]day of judgment that's the way you can kill me Allah says
[29:38]every time their skin gets fried then Allah subh will remake them
[29:46]every time no there's no no no death they continuous pain continuous
[29:53]punishment and torture in it says how do you want Allah to
[29:58]kill you kill me that way and Allah will kill you the
[30:00]same death on the day of judgment this is justice justice that's
[30:03]justice so you can prove all this through logic and common sense
[30:09]now some people say Islam is a religion that puts restrictions on
[30:12]me okay you tell me logic logic and all this okay I
[30:16]give into the logic no problem okay no problem I submit but
[30:19]you tell me now okay I become a Muslim come and pray
[30:22]five times a day I'm a Muslim don't I see my friends
[30:27]going partying I can't party with them here I am on Sunday
[30:30]night sitting here listening to this guy talking to me about religion
[30:34]When My Friends Are For example enjoying themselves watching a game doing
[30:36]whatever it is they doing Islam says you know what we the
[30:40]hijab you know don't take up your hijab I'll see all those
[30:44]friends of mine they're all wearing whatever they're wearing putting all the
[30:47]makeup that they're putting in on and me I have to put
[30:50]too too many restrictions we say hold on a second let's think
[30:56]a little bit here this country alhamdulillah is is a so-called free
[31:00]country correct this country is a free country relatively speaking relatively speaking
[31:04]there's democracy right now in this country if you want to drive
[31:13]what do you have to do you have to get a license
[31:17]in order for you to get a license what do you have
[31:20]to do you have to learn the rules and regulations of traffic
[31:24]correct and then they have to test you correct part of the
[31:28]rules among the rules you know is when you see a red
[31:30]light you what you stop see a green light you go except
[31:36]in the Middle East where everything is like never mind say one
[31:41]day you know a guy was driving and go middle e in
[31:45]countries are really Mah Advanced huge red light he goes through it
[31:49]no problem then the police talks him didn't you see that huge
[31:57]red light man are you blind he says off W I saw
[31:58]the red light but I didn't see you you I didn't see
[32:04]I had seen you stop so nonetheless so we have to take
[32:18]these laws now these laws they say at the red light you
[32:20]stop green light you go when you come to a stop sign
[32:24]you have to stop when you see people crossing the street stop
[32:28]now a person will say hold on a second this is against
[32:34]my freedom I want to drive any way I want why do
[32:36]you stop why do you why do you restrict my freedom here
[32:39]why do you tell me to stop at a red light I
[32:42]want to drive anywhere Freedom right this is a free country I
[32:45]don't want to stop at the stop sign why do you tell
[32:49]me to stop at a stop sign that's restricting my freedom if
[32:53]a pestan class I don't care my freedom he have to watch
[32:57]for me not I watch for him what will the government say
[33:03]will they say yeah sure you have freedom of course not they
[33:06]tell you no Freedom yes you have freedom but as long as
[33:12]you do not hurt yourself or hurt others we put these laws
[33:15]in the laws of traffic are introduced to protect you and to
[33:22]protect others so that when people drive on the streets or walk
[33:25]on the streets they can walk in peace or drive in peace
[33:29]I see for example my light is green and his light is
[33:32]red I know I can go through the light without having to
[33:38]worry much gives me a peace of mind gives me a sense
[33:40]of security when I cross the street I know this guy who's
[33:44]driving he will stop for me so he'll stop for me gives
[33:50]me a peace of mind gives me a peace of mind so
[33:56]even though these laws may appear to restrict my freedom they may
[34:00]appear to restrict me but these laws are introduced to actually give
[34:05]me the freedom to liberate me to allow me to move in
[34:12]peace to allow me to move with respect to others and to
[34:14]myself similarly the laws of Islam Allah puts restrictions but he says
[34:22]these restrictions are not really restrictions these are rules to liberate you
[34:28]to give give you freedom to allow you to move further in
[34:32]the society to progress don't drink drinking is Haram cuz I don't
[34:38]want you to lose your mind you lose your mind you may
[34:40]drive kill other people you can kill yourself you can go harm
[34:44]other people you know how many I don't know about your country
[34:47]here but in Canada domestic violence due to drinking is huge in
[34:52]Canada these days people drink and then they lose their mind so
[34:55]they go beat their spouses or they beat their children this is
[35:00]G they lose their minds it's a huge issue now the government
[35:03]is trying to address it but they address it with Band-Aid Solutions
[35:06]these are what we call Band-Aid Solutions not the real solution Islam
[35:10]comes for real solutions it's Haram period plus a person says okay
[35:17]no problem I'll sit at my uh room I'll lock the door
[35:19]and I'll drink all I want says no even then you're harming
[35:23]yourself you're killing your brain cells you're damaging your body plus even
[35:28]a very very small amount of alcohol research has done this you
[35:32]can go and and look it up by the way it's not
[35:35]me saying even even the legal amount of alcohol I don't know
[35:37]what's your legal amount there there's 0.08 over there in Canada even
[35:44]with 0.08% of alcohol in your blood system they have shown that
[35:47]it slows your reaction tremendously your reaction is slowing tremendously your ability
[35:54]to think is slowed down Islam says you are are an individual
[35:59]who contributes to society when you are for example an engineer you're
[36:03]an engineer whether you're at work or whether you're in your house
[36:06]you're still an engineer when you're a doctor you're a doctor whether
[36:10]you're at home or whether you're in the clinic you're a doctor
[36:13]you're a teacher whether you're in the school or whether you're at
[36:15]home you're still a teacher and we want this potential of yours
[36:20]to be utilized to the max we don't want it to be
[36:22]hindered that's why alcohol is not allowed Haram hijab Islam says do
[36:30]not look at the figure of the individual the lady this Society
[36:33]just gives sizes and looks and you have to look like this
[36:38]and you have to dress like this Islam says look at my
[36:40]intellect look at my character this is what I contribute to society
[36:45]now look at my figure and my beauty and all this stuff
[36:48]in fact few years ago a French magazine believe it or not
[36:54]French magazine they printed the pages or pictures of several models models
[37:00]and actresses without makeup no makeup and the whole reason is they
[37:04]wanted to tell the girls the youth that you know what what
[37:06]you see in the models is plastic it's not real this is
[37:12]what they really look like just like you because a lot of
[37:13]the girls they for example become anorexic they don't eat enough food
[37:20]there's anorexia problem cuz they say look at those people this is
[37:22]how they look I should look like them they don't realize this
[37:25]is actually not real it's plastic this is how beautiful she looks
[37:28]I want to look as beautiful as her they don't realiz plastic
[37:31]this is not real this is not so even they're complaining even
[37:35]they're complaining Islam says hold on forget all this mess don't put
[37:40]Band-Aid Solutions go to the real solution the modest dress you cover
[37:44]your whole body with the exception of the face and the hands
[37:47]up to the wrist and don't put this gallon of makeup like
[37:49]some some of our sisters do mallah and a ton for example
[37:53]or or a gallon of of of perfume wear it properly don't
[37:58]wear these tight clothes that reveal more than what they conceal make
[38:02]sure it's clo it's loose and so on so this would bring
[38:04]dignity to the society respect to the society and to yourself to
[38:11]everyone so these are the rules of Islam in the Ayah that
[38:13]we just recited from Allah says Allah subh says to the holy
[38:23]prophet say if I were to summarize this whole Quran for you
[38:26]summarize with one sentence the whole religion of Islam I want to
[38:29]summarize it to you in one [Music] sentence one thing one thing
[38:36]I have one advice for you one thing to tell you what
[38:39]is it Allah tells the [Music] prophet what does that mean means
[38:51]of course you get up get up means you do something you're
[38:57]constantly active in the society in the society always should be active
[39:02]Muslims you know according to the laws of Islam they should always
[39:06]be active a man came to IM one day IM told him
[39:10]what do you do for a living He said I'm retired said
[39:13]there's no such thing as retirement in Islam what is retirement says
[39:16]go back to work he says tomorrow go back to work there's
[39:18]no retirement what do you mean you're reti when you're working you're
[39:23]thinking you're constantly interacting with people you're involved when you retired I
[39:29]don't have anything to do so you start sitting at home watching
[39:32]television maybe walking going out for a walk but you're not as
[39:36]active and dynamic anymore Islam says Be Active go ahead work of
[39:41]course don't kill yourself in work you know balance balance Islam is
[39:45]about vales and another person you for example you tell them why
[39:51]don't you come to mosque well busy busy busy yes I know
[39:55]you're busy but remember this is also important make this you you
[39:57]know interesting they say a busy man has time for everything that's
[40:02]why he's busy he has time for everything so he should also
[40:05]have time for The Mask as well so we have to attend
[40:09]every Thursday night every Saturday for example every Friday when there is
[40:12]a majalis and not only to just one Center if I know
[40:15]for example this Center for example has a program every Thursday Center
[40:19]X has a program every Friday Center y has a program every
[40:22]Saturday let me try to come as often as I can as
[40:27]often and bring my children because this has a huge impact on
[40:29]them so we need to be active we constantly that human will
[40:38]not get but what he works hard and strives for whether this
[40:42]human is a Muslim a CF a what he will get it
[40:47]the human being if a person for example a he sits down
[40:51]and starts building muscles he'll become muscular He he'll get the muscles
[40:54]and a m says no Ya Allah give me muscles give me
[40:56]muscles of course it's not going to happen it's not going to
[41:00]work out work hard work hard so Islam says go work go
[41:07]work you have to be active but when you're active when you're
[41:10]active you work for the sake of Allah subhah waala I want
[41:15]to get muscles not just to Allah so that people look at
[41:19]me look M look how strong he is but rather to be
[41:20]healthy to help people in my powers in my strength I want
[41:25]to get rich not so that people say oh look at what
[41:29]a beautiful car he has what a nice house so I can
[41:31]help people with my money I can build orphanages I can build
[41:35]centers I can build schools I can help families I can support
[41:38]widows that's why I want to become rich not for me to
[41:41]help others that's great whatever you do you do it for the
[41:45]sake of Allah that's what's difficult whether you're in groups when you
[41:54]do group activities do them for the sake of Allah we want
[41:59]for example to establish a school we don't want to do it
[42:03]just because you know the other Center has a school and we
[42:04]want to compete with them we want to show them that our
[42:08]school is better than yours no this is nonsense that's unfortunate sometimes
[42:10]it happens like unfortunately some people have this limited Vision a limited
[42:14]thinking no e we want to establish a school to complement your
[42:17]school so let us learn from you help us let us work
[42:23]together that's fantastic that's great so when you do things in groups
[42:26]over there you do them in person individually I'll wake up for
[42:31]which is highly recommended because I want Allah to be pleased with
[42:36]me not so that people say oh look he pray what a
[42:42]great to show off so it's all part of this equation one
[42:49]of the professors inan University this person is a professor of Islamic
[42:56]Studies so this professor I think people needed a break or maybe
[43:20]he said sign for I should finish don't have this professor of
[43:29]Islamic Studies told me one day he said he knows back a
[43:35]while back nearly in the last century there was a professor also
[43:39]of Islamic Studies in Iran this professor wrote a book he wrote
[43:47]a book then he took this book to a friend of his
[43:51]to a colleague of his he told him can you please winter
[44:05]this is your winter so he said this professor of Islamic Studies
[44:10]in Iran he wrote a book then he took it to his
[44:14]friend a colleague of this he said can you please review this
[44:15]book read it tell me what do you think if there's anything
[44:20]I should correct because I want to publish this book his friend
[44:23]took the book he read it said Mah this is a very
[44:29]nice book you know what let me publish it under my name
[44:31]back in the old days you know there's no laptop and computers
[44:35]and you can you know there's only one copy so he took
[44:39]it he changed the name of the author back in the old
[44:42]he used to write with wet ink you know the can easily
[44:44]delete it erase it he deleted the name he wrote his name
[44:50]he took the book he published it the book was published it
[44:55]gained some recognition people were were very pleased with it this guy
[45:02]became famous a year later this person who stole the book he
[45:07]hear someone knocking at his door he opens the door he finds
[45:15]the same guy the original author of the book he thought he's
[45:20]there to argue with him to fight with him on the contrary
[45:26]he came to him and he said listen last year that book
[45:31]was published and alhamdulillah it was very good here is volume two
[45:35]here's volume two of the book please publish it again like got
[45:42]shock what are you talking about he said you know it doesn't
[45:45]matter under whose name does the book go out my name your
[45:51]name Allah knows who the true author is Allah knows the auor
[45:54]so on the day of judgment Allah will give me my reward
[45:57]but why should I be selfish and deprive people from the knowledge
[46:02]that's in this book people apparently they found the last book very
[46:06]useful have good knowledge so whether it's your name Allah knows here
[46:10]take volume two and print it please so this guy felt very
[46:15]bad how great manners this guy has this is a this is
[46:21]this is the example of this you work but for the sake
[46:26]of Allah I don't care people tell me Well Done great they
[46:31]tell me no poorly done alhamdulillah I don't care as long as
[46:34]I'm in the path of Allah subhah I'm doing like whatever I'm
[46:39]let people attack me let people kill me I don't care was
[46:44]standing against 30,000 people or 100,000 people did he care he didn't
[46:48]care I don't care I know I'm on the truth I'm on
[46:51]the so he gave him the second so this teach this is
[46:57]a second person now felt so guilty so bad great manners great
[47:02]so he published a forward to the second volume and he put
[47:05]the name of the original author that's how people came to Noti
[47:08]this he put his name he said you know what this is
[47:12]what happened between me and this individual he is the true author
[47:15]of the book not me this is then think reflect a little
[47:24]bit let the person sit down and say what have I done
[47:26]in my life what have I how much have I served IM
[47:31]how much have I done for them IM Hussein gave his whole
[47:36]life for me so that I can become a so I can
[47:40]learn about Islam what have I done to imin what have I
[47:45]done to how many times do I do back biting in a
[47:48]daily basis sometimes we don't even think about it it's part of
[47:52]like you know like like salt and food you know you you
[47:55]have to have it there spice it up a little bit the
[47:58]conversation har it's har how many times do I procrastinate and delay
[48:04]my Sal for no reason not I have to pray how many
[48:09]people get the opportunity to go to Hajj they have the money
[48:12]they have the time they have the means they have I'm too
[48:16]young I'm still you know 20 years old when I become 60
[48:17]go to now it's to years this is not right a lady
[48:24]says I'm so beautiful I want to show my Beauty I don't
[48:29]want to wear the hij later in also when I become 50
[48:30]60 years old when I become a grandmother then in wear the
[48:33]hij how do you know you're going to live until you're 506
[48:36]years old first of all on the day of judgment it is
[48:40]said that Allah will bring and we'll bring the lady who did
[48:44]not wear a hijab a lady who not and he will ask
[48:47]the lady why didn't you wear the hijab she say Ya Allah
[48:51]you made me so beautiful and this test was so difficult for
[48:54]me that's why you know I wanted to show my beauty you
[48:58]made me beautiful Allah will say to this individual look at Mar
[49:03]who's more beautiful you or her of course her face will be
[49:08]bright and shiny Allah give her beauty she was say she's more
[49:15]beautiful than me he says how come she was a chased modest
[49:17]woman how come she put on her hijab she took the dress
[49:23]of modesty what's your excuse no excuse this is what we love
[49:32]learned from that everything they did we feed you we give you
[49:45]we help you for the sake of Allah we don't expect a
[49:47]reward from you nor do we even expect a thank you a
[49:52]gratitude Allah safeguarded them from the difficulty of the day of judgment
[50:08]but in this D they went through a lot of tests they
[50:14]went through a lot of difficulties and especially look at the proph
[50:21]after the prophet's death how much pain she injured how much difficulty
[50:25]she went through on the last day of her life she tells
[50:32]vacate the house because I have something important to tell you so
[50:40]sends the children outside he comes he starts crying and she starts
[50:43]crying then she tells him today is my last day in this
[50:50]D I will be joining my father and I have few words
[50:55]of a will that I would like to give you says say
[50:56]yes what do you want me to do she [Music] said oh
[51:07]Ali bury me in the middle of the night when people have
[51:12]gone to sleep for I don't want those people who hurt me
[51:14]who took my right away from me who killed my baby to
[51:20]attend my funeral and Ali hide my grave for I don't want
[51:25]them to even know where my grave is located said yes I
[51:31]will do that then she [Music] [Music] tells after me take care
[51:48]of my my children andin never yell at them Never Shout at
[51:54]them for after my death they willon have no one to turn
[51:59]to other than you I say how much love you have to
[52:07]your children Hassan and Hussein but I wish you would see them
[52:11]after your death one was poisoned and the other one was slaughtered
[52:14]and killed all alone in then when she continued with her will
[52:22]left the said I sat down with [Music] [Music] told oh I'm
[52:46]going to rest for some time then after some time call me
[52:52]if I respond to you then it shall be so but if
[52:53]I don't respond then be aware that I have joined my said
[53:03]I sat down reading the Quan after some time I [Music] called
[53:17]I called her she did not reply back [Music] [Applause] [Music] she
[53:40]said I saw that FAA has joined her father at that [Music]
[53:55]moment for [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] way for spe [Music] [Music] [Music]
[55:38]ra your hands for Here We Are The Guest of and in
[55:48]her remembering herah this is the time when the Dua is accepted
[55:57]for [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Ya Allah Ya Allah Allah Allah Allah
[57:03][Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Allah for [Music] [Music] [Music] for [Music]
[58:47][Music] [Music] [Music] for [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Allah for [Music]
