Religion & Patriarchy; Are Religions Male Dominated? - Sayed Mohammed Baqer Al-Qazwini

One infamous argument against religion is the notion that men are viewed to be superior than women, and hence why religions are patriarchal in their structure.

Sayed Mohammed Baqer Al-Qazwini addresses this argument by analysing the generic historic reasoning behind patriarchy in societies, and whether religions were pragmatic by sending male messengers opposed to female ones.

We then examine the meanings behind men being 'maintainers' of women as referred to in the Holy Qur'an, and how modern society is using the male as a standard for women to follow which is a notion that Islam rejects. We then conclude the discussion by examining certain aspects that women prevail in, in addition to sharing some examples of great women figures in various ages and times that were acknowledged by religion.
