[0:01][music] [music] Alhamdulillah.
[0:27]Mustafa Muhammad.
[1:06]for Allah.
[1:34]My dear brothers and sisters, illuminate your hearts and minds in this
[1:40]majus with another loud salawat.
[1:50]Prophet Unice peace be upon him is amongst the greatest of prophets
[1:57]allahel has sent mankind.
[1:57]This story still resonates with us today, centuries and millennia after it
[2:04]occurred because the story of prophet ununice is a story that at
[2:13]its essence and at its core is a story we all go
[2:16]through.
[2:17]Prophet Ununice peace be upon him.
[2:21]He and the stories that occurred that are mentioned in the holy
[2:26]Quran.
[2:27]This all occurred geographically within an area of northern called prophet ununice
[2:35]peace be upon him.
[2:38]He was sent to his community.
[2:39]He was sent with great character and an even greater message to
[2:44]leave behind your old backward ways.
[2:48]Not built on logic, not built on rationality.
[2:51]Doesn't make sense.
[2:53]Simply I'm just doing what I saw my mother doing, what she
[2:57]saw her father doing, what he saw his mother doing.
[3:00]But all the great teachings of prophet Ununice would fall upon deaf
[3:07]ears.
[3:05]years and years and years and years and years and years of
[3:11]preaching and nothing in return.
[3:12]He does not ask for anything in return.
[3:14]The prophets of allahel, they don't ask for a salary.
[3:16]They don't ask for gifts.
[3:19]They don't ask for anything in return.
[3:21]The best way their communities can repay them is to simply follow
[3:27]their message which is to their own benefit.
[3:32]Eventually, Prophet Ununice, peace be upon him, he reaches the point of
[3:42]no return.
[3:41]He's reached the tipping line.
[3:45]He's had enough.
[3:49]According to one narration, it said that he goes to two of
[3:54]his close friends.
[3:54]These two individuals, they were followers of Prophet Unice peace be upon
[3:58]him.
[3:59]One was a great a worshipper and the other was a great
[4:05]a knowledgeable scholar.
[4:07]So he goes and he tells them that I've had enough.
[4:12]I've preached for so long and it's barely had any effect and
[4:16]I've had enough.
[4:19]I am going to do a dua against my community.
[4:22]Now, in normal circumstances, if you've oppressed someone, you have to be
[4:27]very careful of that person's dua.
[4:32]The hadith says, "Be careful when oppressing and harming someone that is
[4:42]not armed, someone that has no strength and no supporters.
[4:46]If you have beef with someone that's powerful, that has connections, maybe
[4:48]they're physically strong, they can fight for themselves and they might best
[4:52]you.
[4:54]It'll be a clash, but you'll have a fair shot.
[4:58]If you fight someone that's harmless, allahel says, "I will be their
[5:03]defense." [laughter] You might be, you know, Dwayne the Rock Johnson.
[5:09]You could be the biggest guy alive, but you have no chance
[5:14]when it comes to the creator of the universe.
[5:19]The dua of a prophet does not go unanswered.
[5:22]Sometimes we make duas and our duas are not answered.
[5:28]And sometimes we complain, why is it that our duas are not
[5:32]answered?
[5:33]Well, first of all, if allahel was to answer every single dua,
[5:36]this would be, you know, every time you know the kid starts
[5:40]throwing stuff around in the house, messing in the kitchen, what does
[5:42]the mom say?
[5:44]And then when two guys fight, this guy does dua against this.
[5:48]When neighbors fight, they start making dua against each other.
[5:51]Alhamdulillah, that most of our duas are not answered.
[5:55][laughter] We'd have big problems if all of our duas were answered.
[5:58]And inshallah, another night we can discuss more into detail on what
[6:01]kinds of duas are answered, how to properly relay your dua such
[6:05]that it ascends into the heavens and to allahel.
[6:10]The dua of a prophet does not go unanswered.
[6:14]And to illustrate this point just a bit more, once during the
[6:19]time of Im peace be upon him.
[6:22]His companions came rushing to his house.
[6:24]They came and they said, "Yeah, we need you right now.
[6:29]If you don't come right now, the Muslim ummah will go astray."
[6:32]What's going on?
[6:35]A Christian man had come and he had invited Muslims to join
[6:39]his faith.
[6:39]And in order for him to prove the superiority of his he
[6:43]could not prove it through logic.
[6:44]I don't think you can prove the trinity through logic.
[6:49]Right?
[6:47]You need faith.
[6:50]Whereas Muslim foundational beliefs do rest on logic.
[6:52]He resorted to using some type of supernatural method.
[6:57]So the imam said, "What is he doing?
[7:00]Why is it that people are being fooled?" They said he goes
[7:05]out in the desert under the clear skies and he raises his
[7:07]hand and he says you know by the power of Jesus by
[7:12]the power of the son of Mary and the rain comes down
[7:14]so people they see this and they start to get shaken they
[7:20]don't know is he on should we follow him the imam says
[7:26]take me to where this man is they go they meet him
[7:30]in the desert the imam says says, "Let me see you making
[7:31]that dua." Clear skies.
[7:35]The antithesis of the weather we have tonight.
[7:38]Clear skies, you know, it's hot as heck.
[7:42]This man raises his hands and it starts pouring.
[7:47]The imam, he knew what was going on.
[7:50]Others, they might have gone fooled, but the imam does not get
[7:55]fooled.
[7:56]He told his companion there's something in his hands.
[7:58]when he raised his hands in dua, he told them, "There's something
[8:04]in his hands.
[8:03]Go give it to me." So they go, they find there's something
[8:07]in his hands, but they don't understand what it is.
[8:09]They bring it to the im.
[8:12]The imam says, "Look, it's bones.
[8:14]This is bones of an old ancient biblical prophet.
[8:18]Somehow this man had acquired these bones and Allah out of honor
[8:25]to the bones of one of his messengers, one of his prophets,
[8:28]he answered this person's request.
[8:31]Such is the sanctity of a prophet that even if someone is
[8:39]not on just out of respect to those bones, the dua will
[8:44]be answered.
[8:44]Thus, Prophet Yun says, "I've reached my melting point, my tipping point.
[8:51]I've had enough.
[8:51]I want to make dua against my community.
[8:54]What do you think?" The the worshipper, the one who spends his
[8:58]nights, you know, reciting, spends his days fasting, he tells the prophet,
[9:06]"I'm with you 100% through thick and thin.
[9:07]Yes, and I will join you in making dua against these people.
[9:11]You know, we've had enough.
[9:11]We enjoin them to do good again and again year after year
[9:17]after year and they don't listen.
[9:18]The He says, "Wait a second.
[9:23]Oh messenger of God, don't be so hasty.
[9:26]You are a prophet.
[9:26]Your dua does not go unanswered.
[9:28]If you make dua against this community, we're done for.
[9:35]And there will be no more room for repentance for Toba.
[9:42]Allahel sometimes he sees us servants as we sin day in and
[9:52]day out.
[9:53]I say tomorrow I'll change my habits.
[9:56]Tomorrow comes I'll say you know what I'll wait till the end
[9:57]of the week.
[9:59]The end of the week comes I'll say the start of the
[10:00]next week and Allah is looking at me all this time.
[10:05]I've not changed my ways.
[10:08]But Allah gives me another chance.
[10:10]He gives me another chance.
[10:11]He gives me another chance.
[10:12]He gives me another chance.
[10:15]He gives me another chance.
[10:17]He gives me another chance.
[10:17]When will I learn?
[10:21]Prophet Ununice.
[10:23]He had enough.
[10:26]So he said, "I will side with the worshipper." The worshipper went
[10:29]with him.
[10:30]They went far away from the city near the shore.
[10:32]And he started making dua against this community.
[10:35]Immediately the people they notice some signs of now the hadith are
[10:43]not exactly clear what happened perhaps an earthquake something else but they
[10:48]immediately know something was going something bad is going to happen to
[10:51]them.
[10:54]The signs of adab start increasing in severity and intensity until they're
[10:58]scared at this point.
[11:01]They know that this might be their last day here.
[11:04]They go out into the desert and they start seeking that scholar.
[11:07]He didn't go with prophet Ununice.
[11:09]He decided to stay back.
[11:12]They said, "Please, please, we know that you are a pious person.
[11:17]You are connected to Allahel.
[11:17]Our prophet is no longer here.
[11:20]We want to change our ways." But it's too late.
[11:26]This worshipper, he tells them, this scholar, he tells them, "We're in
[11:33]the desert.
[11:33]Separate the young from the old.
[11:36]And he even specifically says separate the infant from the mother.
[11:42]Separate the wife from the husband.
[11:43]Why?
[11:44]So that in that moment you feel like you're alone.
[11:46]The mother when the infant child is not nearby, you feel very
[11:52]stressed.
[11:53]That dua becomes more powerful in that moment.
[11:56]So they start crying and they start beseeching Allah.
[11:58]Oh Allah, we know we messed up.
[12:00]You gave us so much time.
[12:05]We saw all the signs that were necessary.
[12:05]We know we messed up.
[12:08]We know it's too late.
[12:12]But oh Allah, we have mercy.
[12:12]We have hope in your mercy.
[12:17]What's astonishing, my dear brothers, sisters, you see some brothers, some sisters
[12:20]in our community, they haven't been on the best behavior.
[12:25]Sometimes they try to do their best, but they'll have some slip-ups
[12:28]here and there and sometimes that'll snowball a bit more and then
[12:31]they'll say, you know what, there's no hope for me.
[12:34]You ask them, why don't you attend the mosque?
[12:36]I'm not someone that's, you know, attends a mosque.
[12:38]Why is it that you no longer play?
[12:40]You no longer do your salah.
[12:43]You know, I really feel like there's no point if these people
[12:52]>> [laughter] >> Man, they destroyed him so much that he wanted
[12:56]to leave the city, leave the country and make dua against them.
[13:02]If even these people had hope in Allah's mercy, who am I
[13:05]to say that I have no hope in Allah's mercy?
[13:07]Now for all the catastrophes I may have done, [laughter] I did
[13:11]not enrage a prophet and send him into exile or self-exile.
[13:16]They start crying and crying and crying and beseeching Allah to stop
[13:23]the signs of and punishment.
[13:25]As this was happening, prophet Ununice peace be upon him, he sees
[13:32]a ship by the shore.
[13:38]In that moment, Allahel decides to answer their duas and the signs
[13:47]of are gone and Allahawel has accepted their repentance and he's offered
[13:53]them his divine forgiveness.
[13:55]A while later, news of this reaches prophet ununice.
[14:00]Prophet Ununice, he's angry.
[14:04]He said, 'You know what?
[14:05]All these years I would preach and preach, I gave everything that
[14:09]I had and that I didn't have for these people.
[14:11]And when I finally had enough, you know, the straw that broke
[14:17]the camel's back, when when I finally had enough, now that they
[14:18]want to repent, I want nothing to do with these people anymore.
[14:20]So he's so angry, he looks at that ship that's docked and
[14:25]he says, I'll just, you know, go so far away from these
[14:27]people, even if it means going into the ocean.
[14:30]So he boards the ship and they set sail.
[14:36]These people, you know, the sailors, they can tell that this is
[14:39]a godly man.
[14:41]This is no normal individual.
[14:41]His tongue is pure.
[14:44]He has the best of mannerisms.
[14:49]He puts others before he puts himself.
[14:51]And just from the way he looks from his face, from the
[14:55]n on his face, they can tell this is no average man.
[14:59]When one day they start experiencing severe waves, they go through a
[15:08]storm and there are extreme waves, they don't know what to do.
[15:11]According to our narrations and you know this is mentioned within the
[15:17]Holy Quran, it's expounded upon by our narrations.
[15:20]So we have no reason to doubt this.
[15:23]According to the narrations, a whale surfaces from the ocean with its
[15:28]mouth wide open.
[15:32]Now, there's been a lot of discussion within Christian circles, Jewish circles,
[15:35]Islamic circles.
[15:36]What kind of whale was it?
[15:38]Back then, maybe they didn't know too much about whale biology, all
[15:41]the types of species of whales.
[15:42]But what kind of whale would be able to swallow a human
[15:50]alive?
[15:51]Now, you'd think probably the biggest whale alive, the blue whale, would
[15:55]be the most likely candidate.
[15:55]But the teeth or the mouth, the opening of a blue whale
[16:01]is very small because the only thing that a blue whale eats
[16:03]is krill.
[16:05]You know, those tiny shrimplike stuff.
[16:06]So, it can't eat something massive.
[16:09]So, although it has the size to be able to swallow human
[16:11]being, it can't really doesn't have the mechanism, you know, its anatomy
[16:14]in order to do so.
[16:16]So some, you know, people who've done some research on this, they
[16:19]say most likely it was a sperm whale because it's still very
[16:22]large and it does eat other, you know, it's a carnivorous.
[16:27]It does eat other animals.
[16:27]So very likely it could have been a sperm whale or any
[16:32]other type of well that was mentioned within the Holy Quran.
[16:36]So a whale emerges.
[16:37]These people, they figured that this whale is hungry and this whale
[16:43]will not stop until it has something to eat.
[16:46]So they say someone has to go overboard.
[16:47]How do we decide who?
[16:50]They say let's do a fair process law.
[16:52]We put someone's name on a piece of paper.
[16:57]We put everyone's paper in a cup and we draw.
[16:59]So they place everyone's names including prophet Ununice in that cup.
[17:04]They draw whose name comes out?
[17:09]Prophet Ununice.
[17:09]According to one narration, the people on the ship said, "No, you
[17:13]know, this person is not someone that you feed to a whale.
[17:17]This is a holy human being.
[17:18]We don't know who he is.
[17:20]We just met him a few days ago, but this is a
[17:21]this is, you know, not a normal human being.
[17:25]This person is more akin to angels than to human beings." So,
[17:30]the hadith says they recast the lot.
[17:33]They draw another name.
[17:35]Who comes out?
[17:35]Prophet Ununice.
[17:37]According to our narrations, for a second time they recast the law.
[17:43]On the third time, whose name came out?
[17:50]Prophet Ununice.
[17:48]Prophet Ununice.
[17:50]His name comes out.
[17:53]Meaning that this is the divine will of God.
[17:55]There's no escaping it.
[17:58]So they say, "We've already done this several times." And they offer
[18:02]Prophet Ununice to the well.
[18:04]The whale swallows Prophet Ununice and it descends to the depths of
[18:07]the ocean.
[18:10]Now my dear brothers and sisters, imagine yourself in three layers of
[18:15]darkness in the pit, the stomach of a whale, in the depths
[18:22]of the ocean.
[18:22]There are areas deep in the ocean if you go deep enough
[18:27]that are darker than caves simply because light cannot penetrate in the
[18:33]midst and darkness of the night.
[18:34]Three layers of darkness says what do you do?
[18:43]Call the coast guard.
[18:46]What are they going to do?
[18:48]Who do you call?
[18:51]Who do you ask?
[18:53]Who do you turn to?
[18:55]Even the biggest Hulk, biggest Dwayne the Rock Johnson is not going
[19:00]to be able to help you.
[19:01]All the militaries of the world with all their might combined, they
[19:04]can't help you.
[19:06]Who can help you in the scenario like this?
[19:12]Only one person can help you.
[19:13]That is Allah.
[19:18]Thus, prophet Ununice from the bottom of his heart, he faces towards
[19:26]Allahel in that moment of distress and he calls out.
[19:39]Immediately when he makes this dua, Allahel answers We have answered his
[19:57]dua and we will save him the same way we will save
[20:01]all believers.
[20:02]What happens next?
[20:04][clears throat] The Quran itself elucidates.
[20:07]Allahh states in the holy Quran prophet Ununas is one of my
[20:15]messengers.
[20:17]He boarded upon that ship headed for the seas.
[20:25]It is at that moment that the whale swallowed him whole and
[20:30]alive.
[20:37]If it not had been for the fact that prophet Ununice was
[20:42]one of the he would do of Allah.
[20:44]He would glorify God.
[20:46]He would mention God's name.
[20:47]Had he not done that, to this day, he would be in
[20:49]the pits of the well's stomach.
[20:53]Don't we believe from our literature, our Islamic literature and our Islamic
[20:58]cannon that Jesus peace be upon him is still alive?
[21:02]He was not crucified.
[21:02]Prophet is still alive.
[21:05]Meaning what?
[21:05]Over a thousand years of existence, perhaps more because he was at
[21:10]the time of prophet Moses peace be upon him and according to
[21:12]some narrations even before that.
[21:13]So maybe over two or three thousand years old.
[21:17]Had prophet Yunis peace be upon him not been amongst the bin
[21:20]to this day he would have been in the pits of the
[21:23]ocean in the pits of the whale.
[21:26]But Allah out of his mercy he decided to answer the dua
[21:31]of prophet ununice.
[21:35]Then the Quran states the whale it came close to the shore
[21:40]and it spit out prophet ununice.
[21:41]He falls on the shore 3 days according to our narrations.
[21:45]He's been in the pits of the whale.
[21:48]He's starving.
[21:46]He's emaciated.
[21:48]We go 16, 17 hours without eating.
[21:51]You know, some people they act like they haven't had food in
[21:54]a week.
[21:55]They're so dramatic.
[21:56]Some people actually pass out.
[21:58]They're not being dramatic.
[21:59]You know, it's tough.
[21:59]Three days he's gone without eating.
[22:02]So, he's very emaciated.
[22:07]He's very weak.
[22:04]What does the Quran say?
[22:10]Allah in that moment grew a type of tree that had something
[22:15]similar to squash, but this was a heavenly fruit, heavenly crop.
[22:21]The moment he took a single bite, he regained all his energy
[22:26]and more.
[22:33]At that moment his followers or his followers you might ask those
[22:39]people in his community who rejected him the mushri who had repented
[22:46]under the leadership of that scholar they decided let's go seek out
[22:51]prophet ununice let's go and repent and seek his forgiveness the moment
[22:54]he was spit out he was welcomed by 100,000 followers those same
[22:58]people that gave him all that hell, all that trouble years ago.
[23:03]They're now his most ardent supporters.
[23:05]Subhan Allah.
[23:05]Prophet Ununice literally went, you know, from rock bottom, like literally in
[23:09]the ocean in the pit of the whale.
[23:14]No supporters.
[23:12]He has no one to turn to.
[23:16]He had to, for God's sake, board a ship just to get
[23:19]away from those people.
[23:18]Allah answered his dua.
[23:21]Not only did he save him, he gave him a community of
[23:23]100,000 believers.
[23:28]Never lose hope in the dua that is directed towards Allahel.
[23:36]You might ask other people for help and they might give all
[23:40]their soul, their blood, their soil, their tears into helping you, but
[23:45]no one can help you like Allahel.
[23:47]No matter what you're going through.
[23:49]Sometimes my dear brothers and sisters, we feel like we're going through
[23:53]so much we can't even speak.
[23:54]Some people say, "I literally feel like my chest is blocked.
[23:57]That's how severe my problems are.
[24:00]Maybe no one else here can understand you.
[24:03]No one else here can help you.
[24:05]Allahel, he can help you.
[24:09]Allah does not turn his back towards you.
[24:12]If you just take that step towards Allah, Allah will take 10
[24:17]towards you.
[24:22]This dua, my dear brothers and sisters, There is no God other
[24:32]than you.
[24:35]There is no God other than you.
[24:39]All glory be to you.
[24:42]I was amongst the the oppressors.
[24:43]This dua, my dear brothers and sisters, is a Quranic dua and
[24:47]it's one of the most powerful dua that we have.
[24:51]a scholar by the name of not from the Shia school of
[24:56]thought he wrote a book in the 4th century in that book
[25:03]he mentions different ways if you're going through severe times how to
[25:07]beseech Allah for help he says this is a tried and true
[25:12]dua for anyone going through any problem and he says I have
[25:15]you know the proof is in the pudding I have a firsthand
[25:19]experience to illustrate this he says one day an issue happened with
[25:23]the local we the local ruler and I had to speak out
[25:28]I used to be patient I didn't want to get on anybody's
[25:32]toes but he did something very impermissible and I had to speak
[25:35]out in the middle of the night that same night I get
[25:38]many knocks on the door and back then you don't want people
[25:42]knocking on your door late at night that's not a good sign
[25:44]you know last night we mentioned poor Andreas and what happened to
[25:49]So, you don't want people knocking at your door late at night.
[25:52]He goes, he opens the door.
[25:52]He sees it's the royal guards.
[25:54]What business do you have at this late hour?
[25:56]They don't even speak to him.
[26:00]They say, "Your presence is demanded." He says, "Okay, just give me
[26:03]a second." They say, "No." They shackle him on the spot and
[26:05]they take him to the royal prison.
[26:08]When he gets there, he says, "Why am I taken here?
[26:11]What's going on?
[26:12]What did I do?" They said, "You spoke out against, you know,
[26:15]the Wii, against the local ruler." and basically you're going to get
[26:21]what's coming.
[26:21]So he says, you know, I I didn't know what to do.
[26:25]You know, I don't have a lawyer that I can call and
[26:28]even if I did, you know, back then wouldn't be very helpful.
[26:30]I don't have I don't have a tribe.
[26:33]I don't have a big family.
[26:36]I don't have an army.
[26:37]What do I do?
[26:40]He says, "In that moment, I turned upwards and I beseeched the
[26:46]only one that I knew for sure could help me." And he
[26:49]says, "I recited the following dua." He says, "I began day in
[27:02]and day out reciting this dua.
[27:03]Night one passes.
[27:06]I sleep in prison.
[27:06]I wake up.
[27:08]Nothing happens.
[27:07]They come and tell me the guards tomorrow you'll get your sentence
[27:10]and you know speaking against the definitely carries the death sentence.
[27:15]He says, "I'm reciting the dua.
[27:20]I'm reciting the dua with full full absolute certainty that Allah will
[27:25]answer." Night two, I wake, I sleep, I wake up, nothing happens.
[27:28]On the third night, he said, "I slept that night fully relaxed."
[27:34]That whatever happens, it's in Allah's knowledge.
[27:37]He says, "I wake up, a guard approaches me.
[27:41]He says, look, I don't know what you did.
[27:43]I don't know what kind of connections you have.
[27:46]I don't know who you called, but you know you've got some
[27:49]big connections and you're free to go.
[27:51]He says they opened the gate and I was free to go.
[27:57]He says this is a firsthand experience that I had.
[28:00]Secondly, my dear brothers and sisters, what does the Quran state?
[28:11]This dua is not specific to prophet peace be upon him and
[28:17]likewise we will save all believers.
[28:20]So this dua is a tool that Allah has given us when
[28:25]we really experience calamities when we go through difficult trials we seek
[28:30]refuge in this dua.
[28:33]There is a hadith from Im peace be upon him in which
[28:39]he states I'm surprised that someone they're wary they go through some
[28:48]difficulties and they don't resort to this verse.
[28:49]This is a powerful verse my dear brothers and sisters and another
[28:55]narration attributed to he says this dua it's very short one line
[29:03]he says this is the dua of anyone going through trials you
[29:14]have no other recourse you're going through a problem and you've tried
[29:17]everything and nothing is working We resort to this dua.
[29:32]You recite this dua on a Thursday night.
[29:35]Kind of like last night after the prayer.
[29:40]You do your prayer.
[29:41]You do your prayer on a Thursday night.
[29:43]This is when you recite this dua.
[29:51]Hussein is stating where did he hear this hadith from?
[29:56]He says I heard it from my father Im Bakr peace be
[30:00]upon him who heard it from his father Imam Zim peace be
[30:05]upon him who heard it from his father Im Hussein peace be
[30:07]upon him who heard it from his brother Im Hass peace be
[30:13]upon him who heard it from who heard it from I would
[30:25]like to do a quick discussion inshallah we won't take too long
[30:29]into some other duas that we have supplications that we can use
[30:33]when we are in times of immense need.
[30:35]We've tried every possible normal way to get out of you know
[30:42]the rut and nothing is working.
[30:43]we resort to these hadith these duas found within our hadith literature.
[30:48]The first is a dua narrated by Imam Sadik.
[30:52]He says this is the dua of prophet Ysef.
[30:56]So we were talking about prophet Ununice all this time with the
[31:00]well.
[31:01]He says this is the dua of prophet Ysef.
[31:03]If you've seen the prophet Ysef series, you know, over 40 episodes,
[31:07]this is his dua when he fell in the well.
[31:10]According to our hadith, Prophet Ysef, peace be upon him.
[31:14]He would go to other children, to other families, and he would
[31:17]brag.
[31:18]He'd say, "Look at all the brothers that I have.
[31:21]You guys want to mess with me, you have to go through
[31:22]them first." He said, "I would brag about them." When his brothers
[31:32]started beating him up, they started viciously attacking him.
[31:36]They saw him laughing.
[31:39]They said, "This is not a time to laugh.
[31:40]You know, this is a serious matter.
[31:43]Why are you laughing?" He said, "Now you're treating me this way,
[31:46]but before I would brag about you.
[31:48]I was the happiest younger brother that I had such wonderful older
[31:52]brothers." And I'm just laughing that this is how it ends up.
[31:56]They throw him in the well.
[31:59]Now imagine like a 13, 12, according to his sonations, even 11
[32:02]year old falls deep in a well.
[32:05]No iPad, no satellite, no internet.
[32:10]What do you have?
[32:11]You have some scorpions.
[32:12]Maybe you have some insects and you have pitch black darkness.
[32:18]This is a kid.
[32:17]This is a young kid.
[32:21]What kind of despair must this poor young child have gone through?
[32:27]At that moment, Gibbrael, peace be upon him, comes down.
[32:31]He tells him, "Oh, Ysef, I'm an angel of Allah.
[32:35]Would you like me to help you?
[32:37]He says no.
[32:37]Imagine.
[32:37]Imagine you see and it's proven to you that an angel has
[32:42]come and that angel is willing to help you.
[32:45]And this is a godsend.
[32:45]Literally, he says no.
[32:48]He says, "Why?" He says, "Because I feel that Allahel, this is
[32:53]the trial that he has for me." He goes back up again
[32:57]and he comes down and he says, "Oh, allahel says, if you
[33:02]want to be saved, recite the following dua." And he says, "Saydul,
[33:12]oh Allah, I ask you by the fact that all praise belongs
[33:17]to you.
[33:18]There is no god but you, the most generous.
[33:26]the originator of the heavens and the earth and the possessor of
[33:33]majesty and honor and that you send your peace and blessings upon
[33:44]Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad.
[33:46]This is the dua of prophet Ysef peace be upon him.
[33:55]and to grant me from the situation that I am in relief
[33:59]and a way out.
[34:00]At that moment is when that caravan arrived and they saw someone,
[34:05]a young child was left in that well and they helped him
[34:09]out.
[34:09]A second dua, my dear brothers and sisters, this is attributed to
[34:12]Al-Mansur, one of the caiffs of the Abbasid era.
[34:17]He was at the time very upset with the Imam Allah peace
[34:26]be upon him.
[34:26]Why?
[34:26]Allah has no army.
[34:29]He has no kingdom.
[34:30]But he has the hearts of the people.
[34:32]And he was upset that no matter how much he tried to
[34:37]imprison, to oppress, to poison, to kill all his enemies and establish
[34:43]his power, you know, his homogeneous power, there's no use.
[34:48]People, their hearts still heads towards the imam.
[34:51]So one day he tells one of his companions, he says, "Go
[34:57]and get me this im.
[34:59]I've had enough.
[34:58]Today is the day that I will get rid of him." says,
[35:02]"I've never seen his face so filled with evil, so angry." And
[35:08]he said, "Prepare the safe one.
[35:10]Prepare the sword.
[35:09]I've had enough.
[35:11]I'm going to end him today." So the guards, they call, they
[35:14]call the imam.
[35:16]Rab says, "When the doors opened and I saw the imam walking,
[35:18]his lips were moving." He goes, he sits by the caiff.
[35:26]He had told, "I'll give you a sign, some type of sign,
[35:30]a clap, something.
[35:31]When I give you that sign, you come from behind and you'll
[35:33]behead him." He says, "I'm on edge.
[35:35]I'm waiting." What are they talking about?
[35:38]What's going on?
[35:39]He says, "I waited a couple minutes, 5 minutes, no sign.
[35:42]10 minutes, no sign.
[35:45]What's going on?" He says, "An hour passes by.
[35:46]At the end, I see them both get up and he's farewelling
[35:49]the Imam and the IM leaves." What happened?
[35:52]That's not the plan.
[35:52]So he says, "When the Imam passed outside the gates, I rushed
[35:58]after him." I told him, "Oh imam, I saw you.
[36:00]When you walked in, your lips were moving.
[36:00]What did you say?" The im at first was reluctant.
[36:03]He didn't want to answer.
[36:06]I kept on insisting insisting.
[36:08]He said, "When I walked in and I saw how his face
[36:10]was filled with evil, I recited the following dua.
[36:27]This is such a beautiful dua.
[36:31]I'll conclude with this.
[36:32]Just listen to the lines that the im has imparted to us.
[36:37]My lord is sufficient for me against all created beings.
[36:39]Why go to the when you can go to the doesn't make
[36:46]sense.
[36:47]Go straight to the source.
[36:48]My creator is sufficient for me against all creations.
[36:52]You go to the creation to help you when you can ask
[36:57]the creator.
[36:57]Those polytheists, how is it that prophet Abraham was able to convince
[37:00]them?
[37:01]He said, "You create something.
[37:03]It's your creation." Now, at least human beings, we're all equally the
[37:08]creation of God.
[37:07]You create something and then you ask it to help you.
[37:12]Nonsensical.
[37:12]Why go to the creation when you can go to the creator?
[37:15]My provider is sufficient for me against all who are provided for.
[37:36]Beautiful dua imparted to us by the im.
[37:40]He says, "Sufficient for me is the one who has always been
[37:45]sufficient for me." My dear brothers and sisters, has there ever been
[37:48]a time when your was not distributed?
[37:51]Have any of us here in this room starved to death, died
[37:56]out of thirst, out of hunger?
[37:59]Alhamdulillah, from the day we were born to this day, we might
[38:03]have gone through some trials, but Allah has given us subsistence.
[38:05]He's given us shelter.
[38:08]He's given us everything we need to survive and to thrive.
[38:11]If all this time and without even me actively and consciously thinking
[38:16]about it and beseeching Allah, Allah has given me, why in my
[38:19]moment of need do I turn to someone other than Allah?
[38:22]I just have to go back to the source, back to the
[38:24]provider.
[38:26]Allah has sufficient for me.
[38:29]There is no god but him.
[38:30]Upon him I rely and he is the lord of the mighty
[38:36]throne.
[38:35]My dear brothers and sisters, these are duas imparted to us by
[38:40]the holy Quran by our the progyny of Muhammad and Muhammad.
[38:44]These duas we beseech when we go in need.
[38:48]All of us will have moments when we feel so stressed we
[38:53]feel like we're carrying mountains.
[38:54]We don't have to go through this alone.
[38:55]My dear brothers and sisters, know that no matter what your problem
[38:59]is, it could be so deep, so personal, so sensitive, you can't
[39:02]even tell your spouse, you can't tell your mom about it.
[39:05]That's okay.
[39:07]There is someone that you can always turn to.
[39:10]And that is Allahel.
[39:12]May Allah subh always accept our dua.
[39:15]May Allah subhanaa tala ease our burdens and ease our bal.
[39:19]May Allah subhana wa ta'ala bring his ease and comfort to Muslims
[39:22]all across the globe especially those in Palestine, those in Afghanistan, those
[39:28]in Iraq, Iran, Sudan, wherever they may be, if they are an
[39:31]adherent of the faith of Islam, if they are an adherent of
[39:36]the progeny of Muhammad al Muhammad, may Allah subhana tala send upon
[39:40]them his ease and his mercy.
[39:41]May Allahh send his mercy upon our those who have attended tonight,
[39:46]those who couldn't make it, those who are ill.
[39:48]May Allah send his shifa and healing to them.
[39:51]And for our let us all recite.
[39:54]Before that, Muhammad >> [music] >> Here I am.
[40:33][music]
