[0:14]a [Music] foreign [Music] respected brothers and sisters in this session we

[1:07]will be concluding the tafsir of the 79th surah in the quran

[1:13]and in this session which is the fourth session of this surah

[1:19]inshallah we will be concluding it beginning with verse 37 of the

[1:26]quran to verse 46 we mentioned that this surah surah nazar being

[1:31]that it's a meccan surah the surah focuses on the creed and

[1:38]on the ideology and it focuses on the akita and one of

[1:42]the most important principles and aspects of the of a person's ideology

[1:50]is the belief in the afterlife belief in the belief in the

[1:54]day of resurrection the day of qiyama and we see that this

[2:00]surah just like many of the other meccan surahs they focus on

[2:05]arguing and debating and proving that there is a qiyamah and the

[2:09]quran uses many ways as we covered in the surah and several

[2:14]other surahs that the quran uses many ways to discuss and talk

[2:21]about and prove prove that there is a day of accountability a

[2:25]day of hisab a day of judgment now in this final part

[2:33]the quran moves on from trying to prove it but now it

[2:36]begins describing the day of judgment when metal when the great calamity

[2:51]the overwhelming calamity comes that day people will remember everything that they

[3:00]do everything that they have done and hellfire will be ready in

[3:06]front of their eyes it will be exposed in front of anyone

[3:10]who sees so now what happens on that day we covered these

[3:15]three these three um verses we we covered them in the previous

[3:22]session today we're moving on to talk about the way where the

[3:27]quran talks about the method and the way which people will pass

[3:32]and fail on the day of judgment there is a system there

[3:38]is a method which method does allah subhanahu ta'ala use what is

[3:42]the calculation what is the equation that allah uses to take people

[3:48]to paradise and other people to the hell fire after the day

[3:52]of judgment and this method for some people it's not difficult but

[3:58]for others it is indeed the greatest calamity that is the greatest

[4:06]calamity because that is the day people will receive the consequences of

[4:11]this life that they lived they lived for 70 80 90 years

[4:15]but now they will have to live every lap for forever after

[4:22]based on those 70 years based on those 80 years based on

[4:27]that life that they were living in this life so what is

[4:31]this equation that allah gives us and this equation my dear brothers

[4:36]and sisters if we live by it if we try to abide

[4:39]by it if we constantly remind ourselves of it this life will

[4:44]be an easy life and the afterlife will also be a much

[4:47]better afterlife but if we ignore this equation if we don't think

[4:50]about this equation if we don't remind ourselves of this method and

[4:56]this system that allah has put in place then our afterlife will

[5:02]be a miserable afterlife allah says clearly in the quran so as

[5:17]for he who transgressed and preferred the life of the world then

[5:23]indeed hellfire will be their refuge his refuge and then the quran

[5:29]also says so for those who transgress who do who oppress and

[5:35]they choose this life over the afterlife then in the akhirah they

[5:41]will fail because they chose this life they didn't choose the afterlife

[5:45]so in the afterlife their refuge the hell fire will be their

[5:52]refuge that's where their abode will be that's where they will be

[5:56]going to and likewise and as for those who fear the position

[6:08]of their lord the one who fears the position of his lord

[6:14]they feared the position of not only fear but also prevented the

[6:23]soul from unlawful action prevented the soul from desires my soul tells

[6:27]me a lot of things my soul craves and desires many things

[6:30]as everything that the soul desires halal is that necessarily healthy is

[6:34]that necessarily good no nafs my dear brothers and sisters this is

[6:47]a very simple equation that the quran has given us and this

[6:50]equation if we abide by it it will determine whether we pass

[6:54]in this life and in the afterlife or we fell so it's

[7:00]as simple as that allah says as for those who transgress and

[7:10]hear scholars they say the transgress the transgress this the stems from

[7:14]oppression the stems from arrogance and pride when you don't want anyone

[7:19]to tell you what to do when you don't want a god

[7:22]giving you orders do this this is halal this is haram this

[7:26]is meaning that you're saying i'm the one in charge god is

[7:29]not in charge god doesn't dictate my life god doesn't tell me

[7:33]how to live my life i tell myself why do we call

[7:39]a tyrant a dictator an oppressive person a target because this person

[7:43]has no boundaries this person does not want to be controlled does

[7:48]not like to respect the law so the greatest act of transgression

[7:54]is the one who disregards the laws of allah subhanahu ta'ala may

[7:59]be this person is not a powerful person not a president or

[8:04]a king or prime minister or someone with so much money we

[8:06]oftentimes we we associate those who oppress those who are tyrants those

[8:13]who transgress as those who are in positions of power no you

[8:17]could be a simple person but you don't accept the laws of

[8:22]allah subhanahu ta'ala then this is transgression because you're not abiding by

[8:26]the laws of your creator you're not abiding by the laws of

[8:32]allah so this transgression it's a part of the belief system and

[8:37]how is that translated it's translated into actions when you are when

[8:41]a person rejects god when a person rejects the rules when a

[8:44]person rejects the boundaries that allah has put what are they going

[8:50]to do that means this person is going to consequently choose this

[8:56]life over the afterlife they're going to the decisions that they make

[9:01]in this life are only centered around this life they're only centered

[9:08]around the materialistic benefit in this life the rule in this life

[9:13]power in this life enjoyment in this life you choose the life

[9:21]this shorter life over the afterlife this life it's called a dunya

[9:26]why is it called dunya dunya because it's dani when when they

[9:30]say something is low they say dani something is very low this

[9:35]dunya it is the low life because eventually everyone will lose in

[9:42]this life eventually everyone will have to be separated the real life

[9:45]is the achara the afterlife that is the life that is eternal

[9:51]that is the life that is everlasting and that is the life

[9:54]that allah will give to those who receive it those who work

[10:01]for it but those who transgress so here it's as simple as

[10:20]that the equation is very simple if you transgress and you choose

[10:23]this life over the afterlife then you will feel the afterlife this

[10:31]is common sense we use this common sense every day in our

[10:34]lives when it comes to business when it comes to family when

[10:36]it comes to school when it comes to every anything if i

[10:39]want to be successful in my business i have to struggle if

[10:42]i struggle now then i will reap the rewards later if i

[10:46]want to struggle if i want to raise my children properly i

[10:49]struggle with them when they're young then once they're older then they're

[10:52]raised well they're well mannered they they're well disciplined though they're raised

[10:59]well if i want to be successful in my in my work

[11:02]and my school i have to study if i don't study if

[11:06]i don't strive then i'm going to fail why is it that

[11:09]this this law of life we understand it if i want success

[11:13]i have to work for that success but when it comes to

[11:17]the achra when it comes to the afterlife we want heaven to

[11:19]be free no if you choose this life over the afterlife you

[11:25]won't have the afterlife and this is what allah is telling us

[11:40]for those who fear the position of their lord and they block

[11:46]and they stop the self the nafs from seeking unlawful and haram

[11:53]desires for is the it's the end now my dear brothers and

[12:05]sisters many scholars they ha and the mufasareen the scholars of the

[12:10]tafseer they have analyzed this let's sit and think about this we're

[12:13]supposed to do tadabur when it comes to the quran we're not

[12:16]supposed to just read the verse and just pass by it sit

[12:19]and try to analyze it here scholars they come and they see

[12:24]that there's a correlation between transgressing and choosing this life over the

[12:31]afterlife and similarly there's a correlation between fearing the position of your

[12:41]lord that will consequently it will make you stop yourself and you

[12:46]will stop yourself from going to seek the unlawful desires and this

[12:54]is something that they're there there's a correlation between them the one

[12:58]who is a target the one who oppresses this person doesn't care

[13:04]this person doesn't this person they're they're not controlled by anything they're

[13:08]not they don't abide by any laws they don't like to abide

[13:12]by anything so they're going to give up without even realizing they're

[13:16]going to because of their arrogance because of their pride because they

[13:19]don't want anyone to tell them what to do and this is

[13:24]what this is what religion does religion all that it does is

[13:27]it tells you these are laws these are rules that you have

[13:30]to abide by but some people they say no no i don't

[13:33]want to abide by any rule i don't want anyone to tell

[13:38]me what to do my life my choice i get to make

[13:41]my own decisions you know if you if you speak to someone

[13:46]who doesn't believe in god they would probably tell you that a

[13:50]lot of the principles and values that people who actually believe in

[13:55]god a lot of them they make sense for example praying scientifically

[13:58]it's proven that praying helps a person they'll say yes i'm not

[14:01]going to pray but i'm going to meditate i'm going to go

[14:05]do yoga instead you come and you tell them okay religion comes

[14:08]and tells the person give charity it's good to come and give

[14:12]charity you give back to society they're coming they'll tell you this

[14:14]sounds very nice yeah we'll come and we'll give and this is

[14:18]why you find that many of those who don't believe they also

[14:22]give they also make donations and they give back but they're not

[14:26]doing it because god said so they're doing it because they're they

[14:28]want to do it similarly with for example fasting they'll come and

[14:33]they'll tell you yeah intermittent fasting is very good it's something that's

[14:37]very healthy i'm going to do it i'm going to go on

[14:41]a diet what's the difference between the one who believes in god

[14:43]and fasts and prays and gives zakat and gives homes and the

[14:47]one who does not believe in god yet they they do intermittent

[14:52]fasting they exercise they do yoga they meditate they give they give

[14:56]back by taxes or doing whatever they help out charities what's the

[15:00]difference between the two the difference is that the one who believes

[15:04]in god is abiding by the laws of allah subhana tala the

[15:09]one who believes in god is accepting that there's a power that

[15:14]is greater than me that tells me do this and do that

[15:17]and i will follow the laws of the one who created me

[15:22]but the one who doesn't believe in god they might do good

[15:24]but they'll do it because of their selves the moment they don't

[15:27]want to do it they'll say no one can control me no

[15:31]one tells me what to do i am the one who does

[15:32]what i want with my life but here allah subhanahu ta'ala says

[15:38]that that will consequently without even realizing that will make you make

[15:45]decisions that are counterproductive to your afterlife that won't help you in

[15:49]this life and it won't help you in the afterlife because when

[15:56]you have that when you have that no one tells me what

[16:00]to do i'm my own boss i don't want god or anyone

[16:03]to come and say this is haram this macro this is then

[16:07]i'm going to without even realizing i'm going to be favoring and

[16:12]working for this life and not the afterlife why because the person

[16:16]who doesn't believe in the afterlife they say why should i work

[16:21]for the afterlife why should i work for something that comes after

[16:24]my death let me have all the pleasure in this life let

[16:27]me have all the enjoyment in this life let me have all

[16:30]the power all the money all the wealth in this life and

[16:32]this is why a lot of those people who don't believe in

[16:35]god they probably have a lot of money in this life they

[16:37]work and they're so focused on having the pleasure in this life

[16:41]because they don't believe in the afterlife they don't believe that there's

[16:44]pleasure in the afterlife because they don't even accept it but when

[16:48]you are only focused on this life when you're only focused on

[16:51]materialistic blessings and benefit in this life power in this life wealth

[16:56]in this life authority enjoyment in this life what's that going to

[17:02]do if that's your only focus and goal in life you're going

[17:05]to start ignoring the principles and values of righteousness of doing what's

[17:11]right of standing up for justice because now you're focusing only on

[17:14]my benefit i either make money or i come and i give

[17:18]those people who are in need but now if my only benefit

[17:22]is i'm only focused on this life i'm not going to think

[17:24]of those people who are in need in a way this is

[17:28]how capitalism works it's as long as i have the capital as

[17:32]long as i have the money as long as i have the

[17:35]benefit who cares about anyone else so here allah subhanahu ta'ala says

[17:41]if you have that sense of arrogance and pride and there's no

[17:45]rule no one tells me what to do you're going to without

[17:50]even realizing you're going to choose this life over the afterlife and

[17:58]then the consequences are jahim and the afterlife and the hellfire he

[18:06]comes in he talks about this from a different angle he says

[18:13]the two things that i'm most worried about you about people are

[18:19]two things he says two things i'm worried about people what are

[18:25]they the first is following desires blindly following desires because when you're

[18:34]only following your desires your unlawful desires you're going to start forgetting

[18:40]your principles and your values and what you need to stand for

[18:45]and the second thing that he says i'm worried about is when

[18:50]you have so much hope in this life yeah i'm going to

[18:53]live forever next year in 10 years from now 20 years from

[18:57]now 30 years we're always living and working for this life we're

[19:02]always giving ourselves more time in this life and we're not focused

[19:07]on the afterlife and then he says as for following desires it's

[19:13]going to block you from seeing the truth it's going to block

[19:17]you from living a life of principles a life of values and

[19:22]as for having so much hope that's going to make you forget

[19:27]the achara because all you're living for is this life and you're

[19:31]not even focused on the achara so here i'm in this is

[19:38]what he says in another hadith he says the one who lives

[19:46]that life of arrogance and pride and no one tells me what

[19:51]to do is without even realizing they're going to go astray without

[19:54]hajja without even a proof because that's you're just following your own

[20:00]desire sometimes you go against common sense you're going against what's right

[20:03]and what's wrong you're just following and giving the desires what they

[20:07]want now the next part the one who fears the position of

[20:16]their lord and stops the soul from following the unlawful desires now

[20:21]here one person might come and say why do we have to

[20:27]fear god i i love god god is the merciful why should

[20:30]i fear god why are people always scaring us of god god

[20:36]if you do this then this is going to happen the answer

[20:40]my dear brothers and sisters is that fear is not always a

[20:44]bad thing yes there are several drives that drive in an individual

[20:50]to worship and worship allah and love is more powerful than fear

[20:54]we have to love god and we have to worship god because

[20:58]we love god and then there's another there's the other according to

[21:02]the hadith of that the worshipers are three there's the one who

[21:07]is afraid and that's the worship of the slave then there's the

[21:09]one who is only wants the akhirah that's the worship of the

[21:12]merchant and the one who loves god and sees god worthy of

[21:17]worship therefore this person worships god so that the highest level is

[21:21]love but there's nothing wrong with fearing god we have to have

[21:27]fear we have to have fear fear is healthy my dear brothers

[21:30]and sisters imagine if you had absolutely no fear in your life

[21:33]imagine if you live your life without fear people are going to

[21:38]be speeding people are going to be taking drugs doing things that

[21:42]are unhealthy living an unhealthy lifestyle people are going to put their

[21:45]lives in danger every day fear is a gift from allah subhanahu

[21:49]ta'ala has given us yes when this fear becomes irrational when this

[21:56]fear becomes out of control then it starts destroying our lives then

[21:59]it becomes destructive to a person's family to a person's faith to

[22:05]a person's relationships to a person's life when when we are afraid

[22:10]of things that we should not be afraid of and that's when

[22:12]shaytan comes and sparks fear in our hearts and allah says allah

[22:24]says tries to bring fear to the hearts of those who follow

[22:29]and abide by his orders but don't fear shaitaan fear allah when

[22:34]you fear allah you're going to be living a straight lifestyle when

[22:38]you fear shaytan shaytan is going to make you lose out in

[22:42]this life and in the ahra and in the afterlife for example

[22:46]shaytaan comes and says worry about your money worry about your sustenance

[22:51]worry about these things allah says don't worry about that live your

[22:54]life work struggle but don't worry about that i am the one

[22:58]who has been given you your sustenance your whole life i'm the

[23:00]one who has been providing for you this whole time don't worry

[23:04]about these things or some people they worry about for example their

[23:09]income a few days ago i saw a post yesterday i saw

[23:12]a post this person he comes and he's burning his restaurant down

[23:17]because during kovid his restaurant lost business and he's burning it down

[23:24]so that so that the insurance is going to come and give

[23:29]him back and compensate him for his losses but this person there

[23:34]there because this person was driven by so much fear the person

[23:39]forgot to turn off the cameras that's one thing even though doing

[23:43]that is not even right and not that's something illegal and haram

[23:46]but this person because of so much you know driven by fear

[23:52]that this person forgot to turn off the cameras and this person

[23:55]got arrested and he was burning his own restaurant why because he's

[24:01]afraid oh i'm not going i didn't make enough money this year

[24:04]i'm not going to be able to survive allah says i am

[24:08]the one who has been given you your whole life your sustenance

[24:12]until now if you're alive right now that means god has been

[24:15]given you your sustenance why are you worried about tomorrow this is

[24:19]sometimes the fear is irrational now i'm not saying don't work don't

[24:22]struggle don't plan but i'm saying don't have irrational fear that's the

[24:27]negative fear that we should that we shouldn't have or some people

[24:29]they say if i if i for example pray at work i'm

[24:33]going to lose my job if i wear hijab i'm going to

[24:36]get fired i'm not going to get the position that i want

[24:39]this is irrational fear this is fearing people and not fearing allah

[24:43]subhanahu ta'ala and that's not healthy we have to fear allah subhanahu

[24:48]ta'ala when i when i fear allah then therefore i'm going to

[24:57]fear the consequences i'm going to fear the the justice of allah

[25:01]subhanahu ta'ala and that is good that is healthy fear that is

[25:05]the fear that makes successful people successful because they they pray they

[25:09]prepare themselves they work they strive hard and therefore they become successful

[25:13]another very important point so we said why fear and we mentioned

[25:18]there's two types of fear there's healthy fear negative fear there's the

[25:21]positive fear and the negative fear the positive fear is the fear

[25:24]of allah and the negative fear is the fear of shaytan and

[25:30]anyone else second why does the verse say the one who fears

[25:36]the position of their lord why doesn't the verse say say hatha

[25:41]the one who fears their lord why does the verse say here

[25:47]scholars they have given several interpretations to this one is that the

[25:52]person is afraid of makamahu and on the day of judgment what's

[25:59]my makkah i'm going to be what's my how is god going

[26:01]to look at me am i going to be from ashabi i

[26:04]mean am i going to be from which group of people am

[26:09]i going to be in the eyes of god what's my makam

[26:15]so here fearing their position on the day of judgment where am

[26:17]i going to be am i going to be in the people

[26:20]of heaven or the people of the hell fire this is one

[26:23]another is the one who fears the knowledge of god because allah

[26:29]subhanahu wa ta'ala knows everything about me allah has the knowledge allah

[26:35]knows everything that i'm doing and this is mentioned in the quran

[26:47]allah is the one who sees allah is the one who is

[26:55]seeing everything he's the one who's in a position where he sees

[26:58]everything so are we not afraid that allah sees everything so this

[27:05]is the one who knows that god sees them and hears everything

[27:34]you say and knows everything from good or evil that you have

[27:41]done and therefore that stops you from doing the wrong that stops

[27:46]you because i know god is watching me if i want to

[27:49]commit haram i say no allah is watching me if i want

[27:53]to do good i say god is watching me i'm doing it

[27:57]for god anything that i do in life i realize allah is

[28:01]watching me you know sometimes some people when you go to a

[28:04]store or there's a camera recording you're very careful we're always careful

[28:07]when there's cameras because someone's going to see that but when there's

[28:12]no camera when no one's watching we do whatever we want to

[28:16]do but here's the difference the one who believes in god and

[28:19]fears the maqam of their lord this person knows that allah is

[28:23]watching at all times so the imam says the one who knows

[28:27]that god is seeing and hearing and watching everything and knows everything

[28:30]and because they know that then therefore they change their actions and

[28:34]they live their life in accordance to that this is the one

[28:38]fedali that is the one who fears the position of their lord

[28:48]and stops the soul from following falling into the unlawful desires the

[28:55]third scholars they say afraid of the justice of allah we're not

[29:01]afraid of god you're afraid of the justice of allah subhanahu ta'ala

[29:05]allah we're not you know this opinion says you shouldn't be afraid

[29:11]of god but you should be because god is god is the

[29:15]merciful but yes god is also god is the just and allah

[29:21]subhanahu wa ta'ala does not allow those who commit injustice and oppression

[29:25]to go freely so fear of the justice of your lord and

[29:29]that is the maqaam of allah subhana tala now here this is

[29:39]the system one one group of people is on the day of

[29:45]judgment two groups of people the people who who who uh transgress

[29:50]and they chose this life over the afterlife then they go to

[29:54]the hellfire there's no third category there's the good and the bad

[30:02]now some people they come and they say what about those who

[30:05]are in between those who sometimes they're good sometimes they're bad scholars

[30:09]they say the quran and this verse only puts two categories because

[30:13]at the end of the day you're either a winner or a

[30:17]loser in the eyes of allah you either pass the test or

[30:22]fail the test it's a past fell test so if you pass

[30:27]if you make it into paradise now yes paradise has levels and

[30:30]the hellfire also has levels but this is the perspective you should

[30:35]have the day of judgment it's pass and fail if you pass

[30:39]then you have you're victorious and if you fail then you are

[30:44]from the losers so this is why there's no third category in

[30:50]this now we move on after after talking about this description this

[30:56]um calculation and equation that allah will judge between people now we

[31:00]move on to the last part of the surah we move on

[31:05]to the fight one of the arguments that those who did not

[31:08]believe in the day of judgment have and what was that okay

[31:13]you say there's judgment yellow when is it tell us tell us

[31:18]when it's going to be is it tomorrow is it the day

[31:22]after you have to tell us when it's going to be so

[31:23]that we prepare ourselves and they used to always ask when is

[31:29]it going to be you say there's accountability okay tell us when

[31:31]and this is a silly argument that they come and they bring

[31:36]does anyone know when they're going to die does anyone know all

[31:38]these things i'm a messenger from allah i'm just delivering a message

[31:46]i'm a warner my job is to deliver the message i'm not

[31:48]going to come and tell you exactly when this is i just

[31:52]have to prepare you so now in verse 42 allah says in

[31:59]the quran yes they ask you about they ask you oh muhammad

[32:06]about the hour when is the arrival of this hour you keep

[32:10]telling us there's a qiyamah there's accountability there's hassab when is this

[32:15]going to be and then the second verse says and in what

[32:19]position are you to mention it meaning even you don't know the

[32:24]day of judgment when it's going to be so if you don't

[32:27]know when it's going to be then how are how is everyone

[32:31]else going to know even there are things that rasulullah he wouldn't

[32:36]even this is the knowledge the knowledge of the hour this is

[32:39]one of those things that belongs god is the one who has

[32:49]the exact time of the hour tell them that the knowledge and

[32:55]the time of the sa of the hour of judgment this is

[33:00]with allah subhana tala so the verse says and who are you

[33:05]to know and here you see the eloquence of the quran sometimes

[33:10]it's talking to them sometimes it's talking to rasulallah it keeps shifting

[33:13]this is this is the eloquence of the quran and this is

[33:21]the inimitability of the quran where others can't imitate the quran no

[33:24]one could come and imitate the quran sometimes it's speaking to the

[33:27]prophet sometimes it's speaking to them sometimes god is speaking sometimes speaking

[33:30]in second person third person so you see this often in the

[33:38]quran and then fema entem in the this is the day of

[33:43]judgment belongs to allah to your lord is its finality meaning that

[33:46]god is the only one who knows when the day of judgment

[33:49]is don't come and ask rasulallah rasulullah is just a warner is

[33:55]just a messenger all that you are innama this is it means

[34:04]meaning you are only you you don't your job is not to

[34:09]come and tell people when is the day of judgment you don't

[34:11]give these type of prophecies your job is to just warn people

[34:17]because some some of those people some of those pagans they would

[34:21]come okay tell us how are we going to live am i

[34:22]going to be rich am i going to be poor am i

[34:24]going to be they want prophecies rasulullah is a prophet sent by

[34:29]allah subhanahu ta'ala who delivers the message of god he doesn't come

[34:34]in you know like the at that time there was the kahin

[34:36]the soothsayer they come and they predict the future this is going

[34:40]to happen and that's going to happen this is we don't believe

[34:43]in that god is the only one who knows what will happen

[34:46]sometimes he tells the prophet and the prophet knows by the permission

[34:51]of allah rasulallah doesn't know independently he knows because god tells him

[34:55]and the time of the hour allah says god is the one

[35:01]who knows the time of the hour in all that you are

[35:06]is a warner of those who who are afraid who prepare themselves

[35:12]for the day of judgment meaning that those who are not who

[35:17]do not have and are not afraid of the day of judgment

[35:22]now at the after describing all of these features of the day

[35:27]of judgment if someone still does not have fear of the day

[35:30]of judgment than that warning that we have sent you and we

[35:33]have sent thousands of other prophets that won't work on them so

[35:42]here scholars they say this is also similarly with this quran in

[35:49]surat al-baqarah allah subhanahu ta'ala and in the beginning of surat al-baqarah

[35:53]allah says for those who have taqwa and allah if those who

[36:07]do not have taqwa this book is not going to change their

[36:11]hearts this book is not going to do anything to them this

[36:12]book is for those a book of guidance for the mutual similarly

[36:17]here in nama anta mundi you're a warner to the one who

[36:23]accepts the message those who do not accept them they're not going

[36:25]to be warned because they're even though rasulullah tries to warn them

[36:29]but they're not going to accept the warning and then finally the

[36:35]last verse on the day of judgment it will be on the

[36:44]day they see it as though they had not remained in this

[36:48]world except for an afternoon or a morning thereof this life is

[37:05]going to be so insignificant this life that we're living is going

[37:10]to be nothing compared to the achara it's as if you were

[37:14]here just for a few hours for the afternoon the hour of

[37:17]the afternoon or the morning of it that's it that's it can

[37:23]you remember the afternoon hours you know you sat somewhere somewhere you

[37:28]were doing something those hours they passed by really quickly nothing very

[37:31]significant just like when you go and you take a test a

[37:34]two-hour test and this test it determines your success in this life

[37:38]you're not going to sit and think about that test for the

[37:42]rest of your life it was a short test allah subhanahu ta'ala

[37:45]is trying to say that be patient work for the achara work

[37:50]for the afterlife because this life is nothing compared to your eternal

[37:56]being you're everlasting you're going to be in eternally ever forever in

[38:01]the afterlife so this life is nothing compared to that life because

[38:06]this life comes to an end that life doesn't come to an

[38:09]end you have eternity and you have a number this number no

[38:12]matter how big it is it's going to be nothing it's going

[38:17]to be zero insignificant compared to eternity even if it was so

[38:19]big even if it was a thousand years that you lived they

[38:23]say that prophet nu salam who lived over a thousand years when

[38:28]when the angel of death came to him he felt that he

[38:32]was dying so he goes he tells him let me go and

[38:35]sit under that shade under the shade of that tree he moves

[38:37]from one place he was in the sun he goes and he

[38:41]sits under the shade the hadith says that he says that i

[38:45]felt like my whole life those thousand years that i was living

[38:49]it felt like the short walk from the sun to the shade

[38:53]that's all this life is nothing my dear brothers and sisters let's

[38:57]not waste it let's let's have the fear of allah let's not

[39:01]choose this life over the afterlife because if we transgress and choose

[39:10]this life over the afterlife then we will fail on that ultimate

[39:14]day if we are afraid of allah we control ourselves we control

[39:26]our desires then heaven is the ultimate abode so here there are

[39:33]several verses in the quran that describe how the day of judgment

[39:38]is nothing the time of the hour on the day of judgement

[39:48]the mujira moon the the oppressors the the the sinners what are

[39:53]they going to say they're going to swear that we did not

[39:58]live for it it was just an hour meaning let us go

[40:01]back let us add a little bit to that test allah says

[40:14]my dear brothers and sisters here we are concluding we ask allah

[40:20]subhanahu wa ta'ala to make us from those who recite the quran

[40:23]those who contemplate the meanings of the quran and those who are

[40:31]blessed with the quran in our lives a
