[0:00]is the duty of society to make sure that the marriages are

[0:05]are healthy see one of something that makes islam different from other

[0:16]enjoining the good and forbidding the evil in islam we all have

[0:23]a duty to enjoin the good meaning if you see someone not

[0:28]doing something correctly you come and you tell this person if you

[0:31]see someone doing something wrong if you see someone jumping off a

[0:37]bridge do you come and say you know what i have nothing

[0:39]to do with this this is everyone everyone they make their own

[0:43]decisions they do whatever they want no from an islamic perspective you

[0:52]are all shepherds and you are all responsible you all you all

[0:57]have responsibilities so even if i see a couple that i know

[1:01]them a family and they're going through difficulties right now should i

[1:04]just sit on the sideline and say you know what let me

[1:07]not get involved no from an islamic perspective we have to every

[1:12]single member of the community has to do whatever they can to

[1:17]try to preserve the family because when a family is broken don't

[1:21]just look at it as one family here no when that family

[1:27]is broken you will find that slowly everyone in the community will

[1:31]pay the price and society will break apart as a result this

[1:39]is why the hadith says if you find two people two brothers

[1:55]two family members two of the menin doesn't have to be husband

[2:00]bringing two together if you are able to bring peace between them

[2:06]the reward what does that mean that means that if you're able

[2:19]to bring two people together two people they're not talking they're they're

[2:23]upset with one another you bring them together the reward is greater

[2:29]than all of salah and all of fasting imagine that this is

[2:34]the beauty of islam this is the beauty this is the akhlaq

[2:37]that the religion of islam instills within us and if you see

[2:44]a couple that have children that have a family if you see

[2:48]them they're on the brink of divorce if you see that they're

[2:50]going through trouble you have a duty to try to get involved

[2:53]you have a duty now some people they just want to get

[2:57]involved to hear the gossip to hear what's going on oh yeah

[2:59]did you hear they're upset with one another they're fighting some people

[3:02]they're in it just for that but no islamically we are supposed

[3:09]to try to bring people together and allah says if you are

[3:20]afraid that they're fighting with one another a couple a husband and

[3:22]wife newlyweds they've been married for a year or whatever if you're

[3:27]afraid that they're they're they're fighting with one another send a hakam

[3:33]a judge from her family and a judge from his family if

[3:41]they want islam if they want reform allah will give them the

[3:46]reform sometimes some people they say i don't want reform i don't

[3:48]want to find a solution they shut all of the doors allah

[3:52]says if they want it allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will bring it

[3:56]in and here my dear brothers and sisters this is the role

[4:01]of the community this is the role of the elderly in the

[4:03]community and it is also the role of the mosques the mosque

[4:07]is not just the place where we go and we pray and

[4:10]we you know listen to lectures the mosque is supposed to be

[4:14]a hub the mosque is supposed to be a place where we

[4:20]find solutions to our problems if a person is going through a

[4:23]problem come to the mosque and try to find the solution try

[4:26]to bring people together it's the job of the clergy sometimes some

[4:30]people they think that the sheikh or the sayyid and the masjid

[4:33]let me call them when i want to get married and i'll

[4:36]call them when i want to get divorced no questions asked let

[4:39]them give me the divorce let them give me the marriage now

[4:42]marriage yes we welcome it whoever wants to get married will do

[4:46]the marriage of course marriage also requires some people they go and

[4:52]they say allah let's get married do you know what responsibilities you're

[4:55]getting yourself into do you know what duties that you have when

[5:00]you get into this relationship because you're entering into a contract marriage

[5:04]is a contract are you going to go sign a contract with

[5:07]a company with a person without knowing what your duties and responsibilities

[5:11]are we don't do that but a lot of people when it

[5:14]comes to marriage they go and they make sure that they have

[5:17]the hall set up and the dubka band that come and and

[5:21]they sing for us and they dance for us and the cake

[5:24]and all of these things but we don't know what responsibilities we

[5:28]have when it's actual time to get married so this is one

[5:30]and more importantly some people they call sheikh na say it yeah

[5:35]i want to get divorced now that's not the job of the

[5:39]shaykh and the sayyid yes the job of the sheikh and the

[5:44]sayyid and the clergy is to counsel before giving a divorce you

[5:47]can't just come and give a divorce just for the heck of

[5:50]it but sometimes you tell them you know what you we have

[5:52]to cancel you they'll say okay bye-bye i'm going to call another

[5:56]sheikh i'm going to call another say this is what happens because

[6:00]some they think that they just they're they're going to skip this

[6:04]part where counseling is very important it's very so
