[0:03]success story of how I met my wife 14 years ago and

[0:07]I got married and I'm gonna tell you a disastrous story of

[0:09]before I met my wife and how it did not work has

[0:42]I started learning about Islam I my first conference I went to

[0:44]was it's not I didn't know what differences between conferences and stuff

[0:47]I thought they're all the same I they go to the conference

[0:50]I'm selling a product in the bazaar this is a true story

[1:09]so strange so I go to the conference and I go there

[1:14]and I'm selling my products and one sister came to me from

[1:19]Canada and she's the ally I was I was wanted by one

[1:23]your products but I only have Canadian dollars can I hold one

[1:25]product for me and I'll come back and buy it that's it

[1:28]sure she came back the next day because Ali I haven't found

[1:30]any place here it's not that exchanges currency you still hold it

[1:34]for me I said no problem the third day she comes in

[1:35]the final day of is snow she keeps coming back and forth

[1:50]part she walks away my friend who's watching the whole thing this

[2:01]find someone for marriage our other friend can fight someone for marriage

[2:03]you may have found someone for marriage oh my brother I'm I'm

[2:35]I'll be right back I'm looking around at it's now I realize

[2:38]there's 30,000 people at its na and I remember she was wearing

[2:43]white hijab I quickly realized there's a lot of sisters wearing white

[2:47]hijab and walk up to it and I saw her no sir

[2:49]and at the very end of a class it wasn't meant to

[2:52]be I'm walking back and she's walking directly towards me I'm like

[2:55]assalamu alaikum she's like why alaikum Salaam and she walks right past

[3:00]me I'm like no that's a Salaam why they come hello not

[3:02]at some welcome goodbye so I walk in front of her again

[3:05]I'm like sister this is very awkward for me I'm new to

[3:07]Islam I don't even know what the rules are I need to

[3:09]ask you one question before I ask you the second question are

[3:11]you single her face blushes red she puts her head down I'm

[3:15]like sister you think you're uncomfortable I'm doing the talking this is

[3:19]way more uncomfortable for me I wrote my information on a piece

[3:21]of paper if you're interested in marriage please contact me if you

[3:26]I'm that does it your story if you're not interested in marriage

[3:28]just throw the paper away that way you do you don't have

[3:30]to say let's be friends but we really can't be friends whole

[3:50]the booth when I went back to the booth that one brother

[3:56]the brothers what I want to do I'm not joking there's six

[4:00]or seven brothers at the booth wandering looking at me like the

[4:03]way you're looking at me who is his sister I didn't know

[4:06]you're looking to get married I'm not who told you he told

[4:45]she probably thought that I went to do this as a dare

[4:47]and this was a joke and this looks all wrong because the

[4:51]story looks wrong and I turned around and I'm like Sam like

[4:53]home she's like why they come Salam and it's the same awkward

[4:57]science as we're having right now just like this it felt forever

[5:00]and she's like okay here's the telephone number of my father so

[5:04]you can talk to him ask permission first and then we can

[5:07]talk I so of course is that it so yeah what else

[5:09]would there be I'm like nothing okay and I quickly realize sivan

[5:14]law you know between that time so the time I met that

[5:17]sister in London I got married I realize there's so many things

[5:21]in marriage that I didn't know that I should ask questions and

[5:24]learn about marriage before I just jump into marriage and I think

[5:28]there's something that we us youth that don't have the appreciation sometimes

[5:32]our parents they know what's best for us their parents help them

[5:36]get married and I know this sounds like a weird message but

[5:38]you know our parents relationships look at our generation of our parents

[5:42]their marriages lasted 20 30 years our generation look how many divorces

[5:45]we have two three four years there's something about our parents knowledge

[5:50]and experience that's helped us find like things that they see in

[5:55]you that thing they think things will counter you like for example

[5:57]you have a quick temper someone who's very patient or if you're

[6:00]like this someone who balance you out if you're a good speaker

[6:02]you want a good listener if you're two people talking no one's

[6:07]listening there's a problem so I learned all these things in marriage

[6:11]and I try to help people get married and I started a

[6:14]project called half our Dean and I help people get married about

[6:20]832 success stories since I launched into July 2010 and I'm helping

[6:24]people like myself I'm one of the few people hamdullah that comes

[6:33]from a family that's not religious at all and my parents is

[6:38]zero zero taught me about religion and I hamdullah Allah showed me

[6:41]Islam and I found it right here in America and I said

[6:45]how am I going to go and find my other half if

[6:46]you have parents that you have take that as a blessing because

[6:50]if you don't have the right connections or you don't find something

[6:53]I look into my project
