[3:40]is people think that after the 23rd of the month of Ramadan
[3:45]the month is finished but people don't realize actually these last night
[3:53]of the month actually the holiest of the whole month as I
[3:57]mentioned last night we don't exactly know when lailatul that there is
[4:01]it may be on the eve of the 25th the eve of
[4:05]the 27th the eve of the 29th we don't really know but
[4:09]people have this kind of psychology I think the minute they finish
[4:12]they let some other kalos that's that the month of Ramadhan is
[4:18]over smell of manna raheem alhamdulillahi rabbil aalameen belharra at the edge

[5:40]me so the Palani you know the salam hamid mohammed rasoolallah mohammed
[5:50]mohammed from tonight onwards until the salah the last lecture which I
[5:54]believe will be on Thursday night so about a week from today
[5:58]we will continue our discussion about Surat Maryam inshallah so far brief
[6:05]recap of what we discussed is the first verse of the surah
[6:15]which consist of those alphabets and we said 29 sewers of the
[6:18]holy quran start with these alphabets and we gave three interpretations although
[6:24]there are many interpretations as to why these alphabets are there about
[6:29]17 of them we only discussed three of such interpretations where we
[6:33]said it may be possible that Allah subhana WA Ta'ala keeps this
[6:39]as a secret something so simple as the alphabets people are intrigued
[6:44]by them they may not know how to explain them so sometimes
[6:49]in this life it is the secret the little things in life
[6:52]that sometimes really make us wonder and ponder and reflect another example
[6:58]or another interpretation of these alphabets is that those who challenge that
[7:04]the Quran is the word of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala Allah is
[7:07]saying here are the alphabets that's what the Quran is made up
[7:12]of words and words are made up of alphabets if you doubt
[7:14]that this is the word of Allah word of God come up
[7:18]with a copy like the Quran go ahead and it's been 1,400
[7:22]years and no one has been able to meet that challenge a
[7:24]third interpretation that we spoke of is Allah subhana WA Ta'ala trying
[7:32]to teach us that every word that we say matters every letter
[7:36]matters so make sure you pay attention to every word that you
[7:41]speak to every sound that you make every gesture everything matters it's
[7:47]all of value and significance so we should really pay attention to
[7:51]our language these are the three interpretations we gave then we moved
[7:56]on to the story of Prophet Zechariah or zakariya alehissallaam as the
[8:01]second ayah in Surat Maryam says Vic meteora Becca a Buddha who
[8:08]Zachariah and mentioned the mercy of your Lord upon his servant Zachariah
[8:12]where we spoke about servitude and the importance of submission to allah
[8:20]subhanahu wata'ala we said submission to Allah is the absolute freedom to
[8:26]be free in the Aaronic definition to submit to allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala
[8:32]the more you submit to allah the more free you are because
[8:36]then you're not attached to any worldly desires to anything but rather
[8:41]their pleasures of allah subhanahu wata'ala that submission then we spoke about
[8:48]the importance of optimism and positive psychology always look at things as
[8:55]the cup is half full don't look at the chairs look at
[9:02]the thing half full huh okay so you have to have an
[9:05]optimistic view on life one way to train yourself to doing so
[9:12]whenever you have a problem whenever you encounter a problem in life
[9:17]try not to think of all the negatives because usually we try
[9:23]to focus our concentration on the negative how is your week oh
[9:28]it's just terrible I lost my job for example like this happened
[9:31]that happened we start listing all the negative things in life how
[9:36]is your day oh it's just been miserable you know the weather
[9:38]is so humid outside I'm fasting I can have a drink of
[9:41]water and so on so forth next time what you can do
[9:45]and that's what psychologists recommend it's been shown to be effective sit
[9:51]down on a daily basis and think and write down what are
[9:57]some of the positive things that happen in my life today just
[10:00]couple things to three things good things for example today I went
[10:06]to the shop and somebody held the door open for me and
[10:09]they actually said thank you you know instead of me telling them
[10:12]thank you they actually said that's a nice for example you know
[10:17]today I attended check osama la paz lecture it really cool you
[10:20]know he's laughed a little bit he's funny guy oh that's that's
[10:22]pretty cool ok so these are some positive things sharla positive i
[10:27]hope this is not one of the negative things that you like
[10:30]you know they made my life miserable so try to think of
[10:35]the positive things that happen in your life write them down on
[10:39]a daily journal I have a journal call it back that the
[10:42]positive journal or the journal of positivity then you'll start thinking my
[10:46]you know what actually it's not so bad it's not as bad
[10:50]as I thought it was life is not as miserable an edition
[10:54]try to speak positive things you know at night when you go
[10:57]home those of you who are married that's what this husband or
[11:02]the wife are for just to listen to you complaining but try
[11:05]to tell them some positive things tell them today you know something
[11:09]good happen this happened try to speak of the positive so get
[11:15]in the habit of speaking of positivity this eventually will be make
[11:18]you think in a positive way move towards positivity that's something important
[11:23]we spoke about that is there something positive happening out there in
[11:30]chawla you know I'm not sure how positive is that but anyway
[11:36]so these are some of the things that we spoke about then
[11:40]then we turn to the importance of dua prayer and allah subhana
[11:47]wa ta'ala accepting our doors and prayers and that's when we gave
[11:55]the example of the korea alayhis-salam the korea as we said the
[12:01]Prophet he was married to the sister of Maryam Mary the mother
[12:05]of Jesus ISA alehissalaam it was married to a sister her sister
[12:11]grew old he grew old and they did not have children from
[12:19]the biological perspective it was impossible for her to become pregnant she's
[12:28]passed the age and she did not have any fertility however did
[12:34]Zachary Ali his salon give up no Zechariah alehissalaam one day went
[12:42]to visit Maryam as we mentioned a few nights ago because he
[12:45]was in charge of Miriam Miriam was born as an orphan her
[12:49]father who was a prophet by the name of Imran died while
[12:51]her mother was pregnant with her she was born an orphan and
[12:58]her mother Hannah that smells mother what she gave birth to her
[13:02]she was expecting a boy because the prophecy that was given to
[13:09]Imran that of your progeny will be a boy a man who
[13:10]will spread peace so he thought this is the boy but a
[13:17]girl was born however the mother of Maryam Hannah was a very
[13:20]pious virtuous lady she turned to Allah and said my lord this
[13:24]is a girl this is not a boy however you take care
[13:31]of her you take care of making her a great lady and
[13:34]indeed allah subhana wa ta'ala made prophet Zacharias Zachariah in charge of
[13:40]her upbringing so he puts her in a chamber at the place
[13:46]of worship and we said that at that time among the children
[13:50]of Israel it was not common in fact it was unacceptable for
[13:58]a woman to stay at the place of worship however they made
[14:01]an exception - Maryum Ali has salon because they realize this is
[14:06]not an ordinary child so she was the first woman to be
[14:09]raised at the place of worship in a chamber in a room
[14:15]and the Curia had the key to that room whenever he used
[14:18]to go to visit her and he would find some fruit winter
[14:22]fruit the time of summer summer fruit at the time of winter
[14:25]so he is asking where do you get this from Maria she
[14:31]answers as pursue at al-e-imran the third chapter of the Quran it's
[14:35]from allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala he gives home where he wills that became
[14:38]the inspiration to Zachariah alehissalaam so he turned to allah subhana wa
[14:43]ta'ala and he did to us soon he asked allah through the
[14:50]intercession of our holy prophet muhammad wa ala muhammad sallallaahu made to
[14:58]accept his dua and to grant him a virtuous child and indeed
[15:04]allah subhana wa ta'ala answered his call and the ayah that i
[15:07]just recited was the good news given to Zakaria alia Salaam he
[15:14]was in the place of worship the angels come down and they
[15:17]tell him Allah has answered you draw your gonna be granted a
[15:23]boy not only that this boy's gonna be unique he'll be the
[15:26]first person to be named yeah yeah or in English he's known
[15:32]as John the Baptist yeah yeah and he will have some unique
[15:37]characteristics that people before him did not have he wanted to be
[15:43]reassured my lord true seriously I'm old and my wife cannot have
[15:52]children well the answer came your God created you from nothing so
[15:56]he can create your child from nothing as well God is capable
[16:02]of everything give me a sign my lord the sign was for
[16:05]three days you will be able to pray to me you can
[16:09]talk when you're praying but you cannot talk to people you cannot
[16:13]communicate with people so there's nothing wrong with your tongue when you
[16:17]speak of prayers you can't speak but when you talk to people
[16:22]you will not be able to do so and that's what's the
[16:24]sign and the deed he came out of the place where he
[16:27]was worshiping and he communicated with the people using sign language that
[16:31]God is gonna give me a son so go pray in an
[16:35]of gratitude to allah subhanahu wata'ala and he started praying for three
[16:44]days brothers and sisters zakariya alehissallaam faced a problem he had this
[16:51]issue of not having children when he realized that all doors are
[17:04]shut he had troubles he had problems but who cares if he
[17:10]had spoken to people he knows maybe they would not really answer
[17:16]him so what did the Curia alayhis-salam do when all the doors
[17:26]were closed which door remains open a loss of Hana Hana Hana
[17:33]hypothetically speaking what if hypothetically speaking what if is a courier a
[17:43]Salaam did not have a God to believe in and he had
[17:47]this calamity he had this problem then what would he do hypothetically
[17:51]speaking can just make assumptions you sorry get into depression possibly when
[18:01]you feel that all the doors are closed you're drowning in problems
[18:07]and no one cares who cares who are you gonna speak to
[18:15]and even if someone listens can anyone help you imagine when you
[18:21]have such a feeling then what will that make of you what
[18:24]will happen to you that's when people fall into depression the right
[18:31]in fact I don't know how many of you are familiar this
[18:34]week then use all over the news are mentioning to famous personalities
[18:42]one of them just today who unfortunately have taken their lives away
[18:47]interestingly they say it is not only because of depression it's because
[18:58]of loss of hope people lose hope I was reading an article
[19:03]today and it said the title of the article why suicide is
[19:11]more than a mental health issue more than a mental health issue
[19:17]the leader of the center this for Disease Control is a little
[19:24]lady who's in charge of the Center for Disease Control her name
[19:28]is dr.
[19:30]Anne Schuchat she's the principal deputy director of the Center for Disease
[19:37]Control she says suicide is more than a mental health issue before
[19:42]they used to designate it as a mental health problem now it's
[19:46]far more than a mental health problem why because they say actually
[19:50]50% approximately of those who commit suicide do not suffer from mental
[19:55]health problem they're not they're not depressed they're just people who appear
[20:01]to be fine but they're kind of struggling there they're having issued
[20:05]the one who the famous personality who just unfortunately took his life
[20:10]today in fact all the news apparently he did not suffer from
[20:13]mental health problems but a year ago in an interview he was
[20:17]complaining about his divorce from his wife and how that had a
[20:24]toll on him and apparently unfortunately when he lost hope that's it
[20:30]when he sees all doors are closed and there is no faith
[20:37]in allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala that's when people unfortunately find there is no
[20:39]reason to live so here you can see the significance of the
[20:47]belief in allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala that's one second the significance of realizing
[20:54]and believing and having the conviction that not only will he listen
[20:58]to me but he's capable of answering my call and changing my
[21:04]states that is extremely important I was reading in the news doing
[21:09]some statistics some readings in the United States alone only in the
[21:14]United States about two hundred forty five thousand people took their lives
[21:21]away in 2016 two hundred forty five thousand people in the United
[21:31]States alone took their lives away in 2016 I was trying to
[21:36]put some perspective to these numbers so I actually went out and
[21:40]I tried to see what is the population of Dearborn Dearborn's population
[21:45]is ninety five thousand you add Dearborn Heights that's another fifty five
[21:52]thousand you add Ann Arbor oh that's 120 thousand so basically you
[21:57]put Dearborn Dearborn Heights and Ann Arbor a-- all three of them
[22:01]are wiped out in one year can you imagine that's just to
[22:06]give you a perspective of what we're talking about here that's one
[22:12]year that's when people lose hope people just realize that there is
[22:18]nothing out there so what does religion do do people who follow
[22:24]religion live a happier life that's in question psychologists ask that question
[22:31]what did they find what did they come up with in a
[22:39]paper that was published in 2009 by Baylor University now Baylor University
[22:44]is at a Christian University okay nonetheless let's take a look at
[22:49]this but then I'll move you on to another paper that will
[22:51]support what these guys found out in 2009 this paper that came
[23:00]out in Baylor University by stark the author's name was dark he
[23:07]finds out that those who are religious are indeed happier that they
[23:14]found out from the research that they did in addition what they
[23:23]found interestingly listen to this the people who felt that they are
[23:28]close to Allah no it's just perspective so they asked how close
[23:31]do you think you are to God how near do you think
[23:34]you are to God are you near God like you think he's
[23:38]close to you is he somewhat close to you is he far
[23:40]from and so on so forth those who answered that we believe
[23:47]God is very close to us those lived happier those who practiced
[23:51]religion were more happy than those who did not practice religion so
[23:57]those who pray those who fast those who adhere to the laws
[24:07]they live a happier life for two reasons they suggest one reason
[24:12]is because they feel that they have a connection to Allah to
[24:16]God there is a connection to God so when they have a
[24:22]problem what do they do they pray we know as followers of
[24:26]Islam that when we pray God listens to us and God answers
[24:33]our prayers I mentioned this few nights ago and I repeat it
[24:37]now again if you think back from ten years ago until today
[24:43]from 10 years until today think back think of how many problems
[24:48]you faced ten years ago and how many of them do not
[24:53]exist anymore how many of these problems are gone fellows they've been
[24:57]resolved or they're over in other words Allah answered you - ha
[25:02]Allah answered you dog you may had a problem for example financially
[25:06]but now it turned alerts over you may had a political problem
[25:13]but now it's finished you may have had a health issue that
[25:17]you know someone got resolved and so on so forth if you
[25:23]think about it many of our bras are answered by allah subhanahu
[25:28]wa'ta'ala yes some allah subhanaw taala keep out of his wisdom and
[25:33]I mentioned this concept of wisdom verses mercy so I'm going to
[25:39]repeat this again okay last night what did I ask you guys
[25:41]to do do you remember write down write down that's right make
[25:47]a wish list think about this wish list a year from today
[25:50]by next a month of Ramadan I may not be here amongst
[25:55]you but say oh the Sheikh I remember you know it's really
[25:57]nice Sheikh who made me funny you know you were the funny
[26:01]Sheikh I looked at this and pretty cool yeah you know what
[26:03]out of my wish list couple items were answered one item was
[26:09]answered that's pretty cool that's good think of it that way when
[26:13]we turn to Allah Allah listens to us answers us this according
[26:19]to research makes people feel happy their close connection to Allah so
[26:23]those who follow their religion adhere to their religion they are happier
[26:28]than those who don't follow the religion second they say it is
[26:31]the connectivity the connection look at you right now brothers and sisters
[26:34]look at you you're sitting amongst people some of you may have
[26:38]some friends you're sitting down with your friends you talk to some
[26:41]people there masha'Allah look at that friendship there look at that friendship
[26:44]there masha'Allah wonderful it's that connection when you guys come here to
[26:51]the mosque listen to the lecture sometimes when you have a problem
[26:58]you might approach the shape or the religious speaker and you say
[27:01]you know what if I would like to discuss with you an
[27:04]issue that makes you feel good speaking about a problem is good
[27:13]instead of keeping it to yourself psychologists say it is good to
[27:16]speak to your problem about your problem to someone whom you can
[27:19]trust having a good friend someone whom you can trust speak to
[27:25]them about your problem don't just keep it inside this helps you
[27:28]with it so that social connection also plays a part so this
[27:34]is from a research out of Baylor University now let's move on
[27:40]to Colombia versity in New York in 2009 again in the Journal
[27:44]of religion and health they spoke about a religion and suicide in
[27:48]fact that's the title of the paper religion and suicide the first
[27:55]author is Deering Robin gearing and then there's a second author Dan
[28:00]elizalde what they say is the following they tracked the rates of
[28:06]suicide amongst different religions and they found that those who are religious
[28:12]and those who practice religion those who adhere to the religion they
[28:18]are far less likely to commit suicide than those who do not
[28:23]some of the reasons they suggest is one all religions prohibit suicide
[28:34]so when people practice religion when you're practicing faith and you read
[28:40]the Quran for example the Quran says do not kill yourself do
[28:43]not commit suicide because you're practicing faith you will start to adhere
[28:48]to this you will subconsciously abide by the word of allah subhanahu
[28:54]wata'ala actually you know what something interesting brothers and sisters researchers found
[29:02]that people subconsciously associate with God even those who claim to be
[29:09]atheists very interesting research I don't get you know off track here
[29:12]but I'll just share this very quick topic very quick thing with
[29:15]you they got a whole bunch of words but you know like
[29:21]Scrabble you know Scrabble you need to come up with words okay
[29:24]so they got two groups of people they divided them into group
[29:29]they gave one group whole bunch of worlds the other group another
[29:33]bunch of words one of those two groups some of the words
[29:36]that had that they had had religious connotation to them for example
[29:44]God the Bible so on so forth some words with a religious
[29:47]connotation once the you know scrambled everything they put the words together
[29:53]they managed to no they put the word God together they put
[29:56]the word Bible together they put the other words together and so
[30:01]on so forth then interestingly they asked him a question this question
[30:08]had to deal with some moral issue they found that the group
[30:12]that scrambled the word God they put the word God together they
[30:18]put the word Bible together these religious connotation they were more likely
[30:26]to adhere to the moral value than those who scrambled the words
[30:29]without the word God and Bible and any religious connotation interestingly they
[30:35]say although the majority of that group who scrambled the name God
[30:41]and everything the majority of them declared themselves as atheist unbelievers but
[30:47]the belief in God is sub-conscience their relationship with God was supplemented
[30:55]they say they saw the name God they subconsciously associated with it
[31:00]that had an impact on their answers when it came to moral
[31:03]values it's very interesting people subhanAllah this is what the Quran refers
[31:09]to fit Allah Tala Latifah Taba NASA alaihe this is the natural
[31:16]instinct of the human being a man comes to imam sadiq ali
[31:18]salam our sixth Imam he tells him you have no vassal Allah
[31:24]can you tell me a very solid proof that there is a
[31:26]God don't use Quran don't use some of these heavy stuff please
[31:31]give me something solid Imam Ali Salaam Ashton he said what do
[31:37]you do for a living he says I travel I'm a traveller
[31:41]I'm a business person so I travel a lot have you been
[31:45]to a ship obviously of course I traveled my ship all the
[31:48]time did you ever encounter a storm oh yeah that happened has
[31:54]it happened once where the storm became so heavy the waves became
[31:57]so high that the ship started rocking back and forth he said
[32:01]yeah has it happened where the ship was rocking hard that you
[32:08]started feeling that's it it's over we're gonna drown it's finished he
[32:14]said yes does he said at that point when you lost hope
[32:19]with all the natural resources did you feel that deep in your
[32:28]heart there is a connection between you and some power and man
[32:33]looks at the Imam and says yes he says and when you
[32:41]felt that connection did you feel that power is capable of saving
[32:47]you the man looked at the Imam and said yes he said
[32:55]that's God when you lost all hope from the natural resources when
[32:59]all the doors now are shuts Cullis you're in the middle of
[33:04]the sea and the waves are taking your boat rocking it back
[33:07]and forth it's over even then when you lost all hope you
[33:14]turn to God Almighty Allah subhana WA Ta'ala you know what's interesting
[33:19]subhanAllah I had I have a friend of mine once who says
[33:21]I was sitting on a plane from Europe to North America and
[33:27]we were crossing over the Atlantic Ocean next to me was a
[33:30]person who was an atheist he says I don't believe in a
[33:33]God you know there's nothing else my friend asked this person he
[33:37]told him you know what you know we're in a plane right
[33:41]now on top of the Atlantic underneath houses the ocean he says
[33:44]yeah he says you know what do you think is gonna happen
[33:49]like you know how would you feel you know let's just think
[33:51]you know what if we encounter this really heavy turbulence and the
[33:56]captain comes and says guys we're falling into the ocean what would
[34:02]you do he said god help us then he says I will
[34:13]pray but he said well were we just a second I thought
[34:18]you're an atheist he says well at that point you know it's
[34:21]over right at that point there is no hope so it's over
[34:26]so interest subhanAllah when my friend told me the story I remember
[34:32]the story we mama saw that Alice and I'm exactly the same
[34:34]story when people really feel desperate when they feel that all the
[34:39]doors now in the middle of the ocean or in the middle
[34:42]of the air on top of the ocean and it's finished it's
[34:45]over the pilot comes up and it's your worst nightmare he says
[34:49]we're falling down that's it what would people do at that point
[34:52]tell us it's over unless you have hope in allah subhanahu wata'ala
[35:00]you have hope in allah allah can't save you a few years
[35:02]ago I remember there was a plane a civilian plane that fell
[35:07]this was about a decade ago maybe even more a civilian plane
[35:10]that fell in Yemen in Yemen there was an award the ocean
[35:15]fell there all people died except one girl one girl who was
[35:17]17 year old Subhan Allah Allah saved that one girl I don't
[35:22]know what droite she prayed on Leila - al Qaeda what -
[35:26]uh she did that the whole plane died except her she was
[35:29]found hanging on the tail wing now somehow she made it she
[35:35]climbed out of the plane onto the tail wing so she was
[35:36]there and they found her finally they say they saved her the
[35:42]only person who has survived subhanim allah scapel of saving you so
[35:49]what they find is most religions prohibit suicide and therefore people who
[35:57]are religious they adhere to the teachings of the religion that's one
[35:59]reason second they say people who are religious they have that again
[36:07]that connection they come and they talk to people about their problems
[36:09]they discuss their problems that makes them feel better that makes them
[36:14]feel good about it third and this is a third interest one
[36:18]listen to this one they say most religions give negative consequences about
[36:25]those who commit suicide in other words this is not the only
[36:30]life we have a Hereafter the belief in the hereafter is extremely
[36:34]important in research that was done out of the University of Oregon
[36:44]they found that in countries that believe in a very merciful God
[36:49]God will forgive everything we do versus in countries that believe in
[36:55]a punitive God like God will punish us if we make a
[36:59]mistake he'll punish us they found that the crime rate in the
[37:02]countries that believe in a merciful God is much higher than in
[37:07]the crime rate in the countries where they believe in a punishment
[37:10]that God will punish me if I murder for example if I
[37:17]do something wrong there will be a consequence so so interestingly the
[37:20]title of the article is why they believe in Hell is so
[37:24]important that wasn't the title of it's important to believe they found
[37:32]it is really important even in this world people will actually watch
[37:37]their behavior and watch their attitude and watch their actions when they
[37:41]believe there is a consequence in the hereafter so what we believe
[37:45]as Muslims that this world is not the be-all at the end
[37:49]of whenever we are stuck with problems who knows what is it
[37:53]recommended to say when you're struck with a problem what is there
[37:55]is a phrase from the Quran there's an ayah Allah teaches us
[37:59]when you have a problem recite this ayah what is it you
[38:04]know you're close mmm close in surah al-baqarah Hinton's Asante that's right
[38:17]well that's Shira saw buried and levena either a father Thomas Eber
[38:22]Paulo in a lillahi wa inna ilayhi Rajjo Allah it can Olay
[38:29]him salawatu and Minerva be him Ramallah eka Holman what I do
[38:32]and give good news to those who are patient when those who
[38:36]are when struck when calamities what do they say in Allah well
[38:39]in na la he returned to God we belong and to him
[38:44]we shall return in other words this world is not forever how
[38:48]long am I gonna live here for 50 years 60 years hundred
[38:53]hollows I'll just need a me know I'll be patient for these
[38:55]few years but I'll get my reward and the Hereafter I'll get
[38:59]my reward then so we'll always have that optimistic view this pain
[39:04]is not gonna last forever Haruna Rashid who was a bossy Calif
[39:13]and he was a nasty a bossy calif i mentioned that he
[39:15]is the one who ordered the imprisonment of imam al cabone alehissalaam
[39:19]and later ordered his poisoning our seventh imam imam al coffin Harun
[39:27]al-rashid when he imprisoned Imam all-carbon imam will carve on ELISA Lam
[39:32]was in the prison they heard him praying to Allah reading adora
[39:37]saying my lord I have long as you for privacy so that
[39:46]I can worship you all alone and now you've given me this
[39:50]privacy so thank you your Allah for giving me the opportunity to
[39:59]worship you without distractions that's how he views prison prison to imam
[40:07]al karim alehissalaam is an opportunity to worship allah without distractions if
[40:14]you have that kind of faith that kind of hope that kind
[40:19]of love to Allah would you feel depressed even when they put
[40:22]you in four walls no a person was put in prison again
[40:32]during the Abbasi time and these prisons were nasty during the Abbasi
[40:36]times the Abbasid caliphs they had prison systems that were very nasty
[40:39]they were like underground under underground you don't have any light you
[40:43]can't tell day from night prisons where you have to stand because
[40:48]there's no room to sit just have to stand up like this
[40:50]that's the kind of prisons that Abbas is designed and designated and
[40:53]mostly was for the Shia most of the shower put in such
[40:59]prisons many of the Shia I would come out of the prison
[41:00]blind because once they keep them there in darkness they don't have
[41:05]they don't see you light for six months one year two years
[41:07]then when they come out tell us they've lost their eyesight so
[41:12]that was the persecution one person was put in such a prison
[41:16]along with some other people those other people some of them died
[41:19]in the prison some of them lost their mind in the prison
[41:24]imagine being in this what they call solitary confinement which accorded to
[41:28]some countries in the world they say it is illegal to have
[41:32]solitary confinement they're not negotiating it nonetheless except one guy one guy
[41:37]comes out he's fine norm yes he lost his eyesight because of
[41:41]the darkness but he's fine they told him how did you survive
[41:48]he says because of the Quran he says all I did from
[41:50]day till night I mean that's again figuratively because he can't tell
[41:53]day from night it's read the Quran he memorized the Quran he
[41:58]says from the morning whenever I wake up I start reading the
[42:01]Quran until I fall back to sleep again and then I wake
[42:05]up again I read the Quran again the Quran kept me company
[42:08]and kept my sanity to believe in Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala so
[42:17]brothers and sisters like prophet zechariah alayhis-salam we learn that belief in
[42:22]allah subhanaw taala is extremely important whenever you think the doors are
[42:30]closed his door is always open this feeling gives us hope optimism
[42:41]when someone says who cares you apply my god cares my Lord
[42:45]cares my Lord hears me he answers me and there are numerous
[42:54]cases in the Quran brothers and sisters if you read so many
[42:58]stories in the Quran like the story of Prophet Musa Moses when
[43:05]the Pharaoh heard that there will be a boy who's going to
[43:08]be born and he's going to overthrow his kingdom what did he
[43:14]do do you guys know what did he do exactly he gave
[43:17]an order kill every boy who's born every child every boy he
[43:21]wait for a pregnant woman the minute she delivers if it's a
[43:27]boy kill him if it's a girl leave her alone they killed
[43:31]twenty thousand boys twenty thousand were killed but finally the boy that
[43:37]he wanted where did he end up in his own palace under
[43:45]his nose he raised him subhanAllah yeah if this were in the
[43:49]Quran you would think this is a fairy tale it's got to
[43:53]be a fairy tale how is that possible well Allah makes it
[43:57]possible so I unwanted but Allah wanted and whatever Allah wanted prevails
[44:02]they killed twenty thousand boys and none of them is the one
[44:10]the one grows up in his own house he raises him read
[44:13]the story of prophet Yousuf Yousuf alehissalaam think about his brothers throw
[44:20]him into the well into the world what are the chances of
[44:24]you being saved you thrown into the well in the middle of
[44:31]the desert all alone it just so happens that a caravan walks
[44:34]by at that moment what if they came by a month later
[44:40]he would have been dead it just so happened they came by
[44:43]at that time it just so happened they wanted water they saying
[44:47]you know they take him out and they find him there what
[44:49]a coincidence well how many coincidences then they take him to Egypt
[44:55]out of all the people who would buy him in Egypt it
[44:56]just so happens that it is one of the Kings advisers who
[45:02]buys him why didn't anyone else buy him he grows up there
[45:08]it just so happens that the Kings wife becomes obsessed with him
[45:12]it just so happens he end up in the prison and then
[45:16]in the prison it just so happens that the King sees a
[45:18]dream and they remember him because of the dream of the king
[45:26]and he comes out of the prison becoming a adviser of the
[45:29]king himself it just so happened a drought happens his family comes
[45:37]he recognizes them it just so happened I mean what at how
[45:40]many coincidence honestly if you eat fewer to reach through its use
[45:43]of and if it's not in the Quran you say mashallah what
[45:45]a great fiction what a great fictional story but Subhan Allah this
[45:52]is what Allah does the brothers of Yousuf wanted something Allah wanted
[45:58]something else the whole thing happened subhanAllah so that Yusuf can come
[46:06]to Egypt and save millions of people from famine and drought do
[46:10]you think about it that way because of Yusuf's interpretation of the
[46:15]dream of the king they managed to save their people millions were
[46:20]saved or thousands hundreds of thousands were saved from the drought from
[46:25]the famine because of the interpretation of you sir aleena see Subhan
[46:30]Allah and how many such stories do we have in the Hall
[46:37]you read them read the story of us Hubble keV the people
[46:39]of the cave who turned against their king and they go in
[46:44]a cave now they're all alone allah subhanaw taala makes him sleep
[46:48]309 years indicate how would that happen allah subhanaw taala destitute and
[46:53]they wake up after 309 years just so that people can find
[46:55]out about their story and they become a sign it is also
[47:02]said that they will be among the Companions of Imam al-mahdi ailment
[47:06]of our agile Allah Ta'ala for a Jewish relief those people of
[47:09]us Haruka they will wake up and they will join the camp
[47:15]of the Imam and it has said when many of the Jews
[47:17]and the Christians see us horrible calf because they know their stories
[47:23]and when they see Jesus peace be upon him ISA alaihi Salam
[47:25]they will all believe in Imam al-mahdi agile Allah Ta'ala philosophically that's
[47:29]one of the means where peace will be united people will be
[47:33]united through peace in a peaceful means because the leadership will follow
[47:36]the imam salam ala Han so you see brothers and sisters there
[47:40]are numerous examples in the Quran in numerous examples not one not
[47:47]two not three several of cases that you think it's impossible but
[47:52]to Allah it is not impossible that faith in Allah that belief
[47:58]in Allah makes one feel tranquility peace hope and hence a person
[48:06]would not consider - god forbid take his life away or her
[48:11]life away because there is always someone who cares and someone was
[48:15]capable of helping me not only does he care he can help
[48:22]me he can change my situation I'll finish with this story we
[48:27]have a Shia scholar by the name of Allah la etapa Rossi
[48:32]may Allah bless his soul he wrote an interpretation of the Quran
[48:34]one of the commentators of the Quran the interpreters of the Quran
[48:40]is a lie Lama policy the story for him writing this Quran
[48:45]or the interpretation of the Quran goals he got a heart attack
[48:53]one day he was a scholar he got a heart attack they
[48:56]came they checked his pulse they couldn't see any pulse they couldn't
[49:00]feel pulse so they declared him dead they washed his body put
[49:10]the cap on the shrouding pray salat we'll make it on him
[49:14]they went and they buried him in the middle of the night
[49:22]he wakes up it turns out he wasn't dead I asked a
[49:26]cardiologist about this he says yes there are cases when the heart
[49:34]rate becomes so low that a person appears dead and without the
[49:38]tools of the technology of today they would not be able to
[49:41]tell because when they put their hand to take your pulse you
[49:43]don't have a pulse or they cannot feel a pulse because the
[49:46]pulse is just so low so apparently this person experienced one of
[49:56]those episodes where his heart did not really stop but it became
[49:59]very slow for whatever reason something happened that was not detectable by
[50:05]the means that they had back in those days he wakes up
[50:10]now what will you do literally you're 6 feet under wrapped in
[50:15]your kapphahn and the sand is all over you what are you
[50:23]gonna do he tries to open open his cafe and he tries
[50:28]to get up but he couldn't all the sand Aldus now that's
[50:34]a state of desperation that's a state of desperation what does Allah
[50:41]say in the Quran and manageable Mathare a Dada reaction would sue
[50:49]or one who answers the call of the one in desperation and
[50:54]removes the calamities when you are in desperation you pray in a
[51:00]state of desperation Allah answers Allah will answer you he's in a
[51:09]state of desperation he finds his moments are final every second matters
[51:18]at that point when all the doors are locked when everything is
[51:27]closed there remains one who cares and one who can help he
[51:32]turns to Allah he says my lord I make a vow a
[51:38]promise another if you save me from this I will write an
[51:48]interpretation of the Quran I will interpret the Quran he's they're making
[51:54]dois he's six feet under praying to Allah subhana WA Ta'ala surrounded
[52:00]by sand surrounded by the worms that's where he is and by
[52:07]the way that's a reality that all of us will experience eventually
[52:11]sooner or later we will all go six feet under one day
[52:19]and we'll be surrounded by the worms that they will come and
[52:22]chew our body and then Allah will ask us what did you
[52:27]do in this world that you were living in those 50 years
[52:30]60 years 30 years whatever it is what did you do answer
[52:37]me tell me why did you waste the time playing games doing
[52:39]whatever it is and not praying salat on time why were you
[52:45]wasting time gossiping hurting other people finding yourself better than everyone else
[52:50]well are you better than anyone else now guess what you died
[52:52]like everyone else and here you're buried just like everyone else what's
[52:57]the difference between you and anyone else whatever you are a king
[53:02]or you're the poorest man in the city both of you now
[53:04]are six feet under what's the difference nothing except our deeds now
[53:08]our deeds will speak to us all of us so let's really
[53:14]think about that moment because it's a real moment a moment of
[53:16]reality what have we prepared for our era he makes a draw
[53:22]all of the sudden he hears some noise someone is digging back
[53:33]in those days unfortunately there were people who used to steal strout's
[53:40]steal Kevin's when they hear of a May 8 you know somebody
[53:43]who's died they attend funerals unfortunately some people had that kind of
[53:50]a I don't know if you call it a job or whatever
[53:52]it is that they had unfortunately they attend funerals and they would
[53:57]find where did this person get buried so what they do at
[54:01]night they come and they steal their calf and they go sell
[54:03]it whatever price they get for it that's that's how they were
[54:08]used to make their living it just so happened that one of
[54:12]those individuals starts digging and this individual is about to get the
[54:18]lesson of his life the story does not say what happened to
[54:31]this individual after this incident I don't know if he ended up
[54:34]in that same grave later on or what happened whatever happened so
[54:39]he's digging now the grave thinking that there is a nice wonderful
[54:44]new shroud Renuka fan that he's gonna have a lama paparazzi figures
[54:54]it out he understands he realizes what's going on but he keeps
[55:01]quiet doesn't make a noise doesn't make a move until this person
[55:06]digs out the grave and reaches his body as that person wants
[55:14]to take the calf and the debt is resurrected back alive again
[55:24]while hamdulillah this man shouts get scared and says my god the
[55:33]Dead is back and he runs away from the grave a llama
[55:37]pop of se gets up wearing his Catherine comes home knocks the
[55:44]door can you imagine what subhanAllah he goes back and indeed he
[56:11]fulfills his promise he writes that the fear of the on the
[56:14]turf seer of Allah llama paparazzi that's being used until this day
[56:19]and age people refer to him into his interpretation so my brothers
[56:29]and sisters the door is never closed when someone tells you you
[56:35]have troubles who cares tell them my Lord cares God cares and
[56:38]he can answer me and he can change my situation and he
[56:44]can save me like he saved all those people before me just
[56:48]like he saved prophet yunus jonah from the stomach of the whale
[56:54]in the middle of the night in the darkness of the ocean
[56:57]he saved him Allah can save me so say this word or
[57:02]this say this ayah of prophet yunus repeatedly because it says when
[57:06]you say it in sha allah allah will remove the calamities away
[57:10]from you when prophet yunus jonah was in the stomach of the
[57:13]whale he made this Torah he said subhanak a la ilaha illallah
[57:19]la ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu mina voila mean la ilaha
[57:25]illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu mean of allah mean this is the
[57:29]door there was no god but you glorified be you I have
[57:34]been among those who are oppressors I've been a tyrant individual oppressing

[57:44]door you answer my call la ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu
[57:48]managua demean raise your hands and door our brothers and sisters must
[57:52]keep our faith our hope in Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala just like

[58:01]our prayers and will bless us inshallah and shower us with his
