[1:23]companions and his servants and those who die defending him inshallah and
[1:27]may Allah grant us the shaf of Hussein to us and our
[1:34]progeny until the day of judgment in this in the I may
[1:45]request you brothers and sisters to read the dua with me inshallah.
[1:50]So we get the and theab together.

[4:56]Ali [Music] [Music] what for [Music] Hassan Hussein.
[5:52]for [Music] [Music] [Music] Allah.
[6:23]Oh, [Music] [Music] [Music] knowch.
[6:58][Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] hassle.
[7:59][Music] All enough for [Music] knowch.
[8:28][Music] [Music] Allah.
[8:53][Music] [Music] is [Music] Y [Music] [Music] Hassad.
[10:09][Music] Foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] Muhammad Foreign [Music] Ymon.
[11:34][Music] for [Music] Allah.
[12:22]for [Music] together and [Music] [Music] Haj.
[13:22][Music] ill to become [Music] only Allah.
[13:51][Music] [Music] Amen.
[14:05][Music] May I request the to please move forward as much as
[14:26]you can.
[14:25]Please come on up.
[14:29]Move up.
[14:29]If you can move up, please as much as you can.
[14:32]So this way inshallah we can accommodate them as they come in.
[14:39]Alhamdulillah.
[14:45][Music] [Music] Mustafa Muhamad.
[15:08][Music] [Music] Yeah.
[15:46]Abdullah.
[15:50][Music] [Music] [Music] is All [Music] suhammed Muhammad When prophet Ibraim was
[17:26]thrown into the fire and Allah subhana wa ta'ala saved him, the
[17:31]king of his time who was called he then called him and
[17:38]said okay let's have a discussion you know it seems we can't
[17:41]kill you so let's talk to So he tells him okay says
[17:47]to Ibraimis I am a god what's the difference between your god
[17:54]and me so ibraim in this ayah from bakar he tells him
[18:02]my lord what gives life and takes life away this king said
[18:10]what's so special about I also give life and take life away.
[18:18]How do you do that?
[18:18]He says no problem.
[18:19]Bring me two prisoners.
[18:22]So they bring two prisoners from prison.
[18:24]Nam says kill one.
[18:27]So they killed him.
[18:27]Says see I just took life away.
[18:31]Free the other one.
[18:33]Free him.
[18:32]Said free.
[18:34]See I just gave life to someone else.
[18:36]There you go.
[18:38]So what's the difference?
[18:38]I also give life and I take life.
[18:42]Now think about it brothers and sisters.
[18:43]When Ibraim said that my lord gives life and takes life away
[18:48]is is this what he was talking about like prison and so
[18:53]on so forth?
[18:55]No the actual life but he twisted this whole world you know
[18:58]this whole thing around and the interesting thing is people believed him
[19:02]and now I see people smiling you know but in reality that's
[19:06]what happened.
[19:07]People were like, "Oh, that's right.
[19:09]He does know how to give life and take life away." And
[19:13]you're like thinking, "Wait a minute." Like you guys have, Subhan Allah.
[19:17]He managed to convince people.
[19:19]He managed to convince people.
[19:22]Now this kind of people exist throughout the history.
[19:26]This is not something people are laughing.
[19:30]But then Ibraim wanted to show him the evidence, the proof that
[19:34]no, this is not what I'm talking about.
[19:36]You cannot compare yourself to Allah.
[19:39]So then he told him, okay, my God makes the sun rises
[19:45]from the east and sets on the west.
[19:47]Change it if you can.
[19:49]That's when he like, oh my goodness, no, that I cannot do.
[19:54]Okay.
[19:55]Well, Ibraim, you know, get out of and so he kicked him
[20:00]out.
[20:01]He sent him in an exile.
[20:01]He sent him in an exile.
[20:02]He didn't have an an answer to his argument.
[20:05]He's like, "Get out." So then he kicked him out.
[20:10]But brothers and sisters, you see this kind of twisting the truth,
[20:15]twisting the realities is nothing new.
[20:17]This is back at the time of Ibraim thousands of year ago.
[20:25]Then you come to the time of now this is thousands of
[20:32]years after Ibraim in Egypt.
[20:32]again.
[20:33]Now imagine brothers and sisters, imagine you are where at the time
[20:38]when you saw the stick turning into a snake and it you
[20:42]know you saw that miracle and it was like a huge miracle
[20:44]at the time.
[20:45]This was not some think like an ordinary thing.
[20:49]It was like big deal.
[20:50]So you imagine they say the mufas say 600,000 people witnessed that
[20:55]event the changing of the stick into a snake and it ate
[21:01]the snakes or the ropes of the magicians.
[21:04]Okay.
[21:05]So 600.
[21:04]So you just witnessed this.
[21:06]Now wouldn't you believe like what else do you want so that
[21:09]you believe in MSH?
[21:11]I mean what else would you like to see?
[21:12]Okay.
[21:13]And then comes it's like guys you think this guy is is
[21:19]for real.
[21:21]This is in now Quran comes says you think this guy is
[21:24]for real?
[21:24]Come on guys look at him.
[21:26]Look what he's wearing.
[21:29]He's wearing the skin of a sheep.
[21:32]This poor fella, he can't even feed himself.
[21:35]He can't even look after himself.
[21:37]He's going to save you.
[21:38]He claims that there are like, you know, there's a God and
[21:40]there is heavens and all this nonsense.
[21:43]If at least some gold can fall upon him.
[21:47]If we can see him getting rich or let him bring the
[21:52]angels, this is Quran, you know, gold or angels can come with
[21:59]him.
[22:00]Maybe then we can negotiate.
[22:01]But look at this guy.
[22:05]And then look at me.
[22:05]Do you not see the rivers flowing from underneath me?
[22:11]I have the power.
[22:11]I have the kingdom.
[22:12]Quran says he fooled his people and they obeyed him.
[22:20]They listened to him.
[22:22]Now you think really?
[22:27]Yeah.
[22:29]Really?
[22:26]Namud did it and people followed him.
[22:30]did it and people followed him and today today this day and
[22:38]age we have social media social media and what people are following
[22:46]in social media.
[22:45]So today inshallah I will very briefly talk about the distractions of
[22:50]social media and the shorts the short videos you know the YouTube
[22:58]shorts the Tik Tok shorts the Instagram shorts etc the distractions of
[23:02]these and their big influence in the lives of people people are
[23:06]following these social media the average person it is said spends 2
[23:15]hours 24 minutes per day on social media 2 hours 24 minutes
[23:19]per day guys people sleep for like 8 hours in the day
[23:24]right yeah approximately some sheh now it's summer time we sleep 15
[23:33]hours per day no summertime you know we hibernate no so 12
[23:40]8 hours eight hours you're working if you're going to work if
[23:44]you're going to That 16 hours of the day is gone.
[23:48]That leaves you with eight hours out of this 8 hours, 2
[23:50]hours, 24 minutes you're spending on social media.
[23:54]My goodness.
[23:56]Okay.
[23:57]And then on what?
[23:58]Just you know flipping nothing useful, nothing that would benefit you in
[24:02]duny and in.
[24:04]And it's having a huge impact.
[24:06]There's research about this.
[24:07]There is a lot of research about this.
[24:10]So there's a paper that's was published in 2019 from Australia.
[24:16]The lead author of this paper, his name is or the name
[24:22]is Roundsville.
[24:22]R O Kim Roundsville.
[24:26]R O N S E F L Roundsville in the Journal of
[24:33]Nutrition and Dietetics 2019.
[24:35]The title of the article, listen to this.
[24:38]social media comma body image and food choices in healthy young adults
[24:44]a mixed method systemic systematic review.
[24:47]So they did a review on the impact of social media on
[24:54]body image and food food.
[24:54]Now it's a long article.
[24:58]I'll just read you towards the end the conclusion.
[24:59]See what it says towards the end.
[25:02]Young adults mostly women.
[25:07]He says, "Young adult women exposed to idealic images of celebrities, peers
[25:13]and fitness." Fitness, you know, they look at the images of those
[25:20]guys in fitness or celebrities and so on so forth.
[25:22]What happens to them on Instagram?
[25:26]Reported greater body dissatisfaction.
[25:30]They're they're not happy with their bodies because they look at those
[25:37]images and what do they see?
[25:38]Thin models, beautifully enhanced images and then they look at themselves and
[25:42]they say I am not beautiful and it's having a huge impact.
[25:48]a huge impact.
[25:47]There was a paper that was published in 2008 by a professor,
[25:54]her name is Shelley Grae, G R A B.
[25:56]At that time, this was before social media.
[25:58]At that time she said 50% of girls and undergraduate women in
[26:03]the United States are suffering from mental and physical problems, health problems
[26:09]because of the way that women are portrayed in the media.
[26:14]The way that women are marketed marketed they call it objectification.
[26:20]And they use women as objects because women take a look at
[26:28]other women as objects.
[26:29]They become selfobjectifying.
[26:31]So they become objectifying themselves.
[26:33]These are actually scientific terms.
[26:35]There's are terms.
[26:39]Self-objectification is when you start you know assessing yourself being critical of
[26:44]yourself that I'm fat, I am not be pretty, I'm not beautiful.
[26:47]Now this she says this author roundsful she says this is propagated
[26:57]by those major corporations you know the guys who make up all
[27:01]these beauty products.
[27:00]Well how do they promote them?
[27:02]What do they do?
[27:05]Obviously they get some influencers and they pay them some money or
[27:08]they give them some of these products and they say here present
[27:12]them to your followers.
[27:12]2 million, 3 million, 5 million followers.
[27:15]And these people look at this and they say, "Oh, you know
[27:17]what?
[27:18]I don't look pretty." And brothers and sisters, if you take a
[27:24]look at these products, these products, they're constantly coming up with new
[27:29]products.
[27:28]It's not like, you know, this is it and that's finished.
[27:32]No.
[27:33]Every month, every few months, we have a new product on on
[27:36]well, how do they promote it?
[27:39]How do they get people to buy it?
[27:41]Through the social media, through these influencers.
[27:43]So, this is what they're saying in here.
[27:45]In addition, they say even even when they look at images of
[27:54]people who try to promote fitness.
[27:55]So like you know how to good have a good weight.
[27:59]Now this is supposed to be a good thing isn't it?
[28:04]But usually what is the body of those people?
[28:05]It's very subtle but that's how they market it.
[28:08]They usually choose exactly what kind of people to propagate this kind
[28:12]of message.
[28:14]So then those guys images aim to inspire healthy eating and exercise
[28:19]behaviors.
[28:20]However, content analyses of fitspiration fitspiration means you're looking at those exercises
[28:29]that's exercises.
[28:30]Okay.
[28:30]on social media platforms have found that many images and their messages
[28:38]praise thinners thinness and high fitness levels as ideals.
[28:45]What is the ideal being thin?
[28:50]What is the ideal?
[28:49]Do a lot of exercise, watch your diet, etc., etc.
[28:54]What is this causing, brothers and sisters?
[28:57]A lot of food disorders.
[29:00]Women are more prone to this than men.
[29:02]Men are also subjects to it.
[29:07]But according to the research, women are more subject to it.
[29:09]This is, you know, interesting, brothers and sisters.
[29:12]You know, when I was reading this, there is an ayah in
[29:15]the Quran that talks about hijab.
[29:17]brothers and sisters.
[29:21]Okay.
[29:19]Ay 61 of oh prophet say to your women and the women
[29:28]of the female believers that they should wear you know which means
[29:36]loose clothing loose clothing.
[29:37]Okay.
[29:36]And that loose clothing covers the whole body.
[29:40]Jalbab is a loose clothing not tights that covers the whole body.
[29:48]Okay.
[29:45]And then the ayah says that is best so that they can
[29:53]be recognized so that they would not be harmed.
[29:55]They would not be what?
[30:00]Harmed.
[29:58]Now some people say well this is what men may be looking
[30:04]at women and trying to harm them.
[30:06]Well then men should not be looking at women.
[30:09]We say okay no problem.
[30:10]But maybe the ayah is not talking about men harming women.
[30:15]In these social media platforms, who are the models?
[30:21]Men or women, women, women are the models.
[30:26]They're the ones who are coming up with these beauty products and
[30:29]the standards of beauty.
[30:31]Am I right?
[30:32]So when women are looking at these women or female models and
[30:38]they're setting the standards of beauty according to what these beauty corporations
[30:44]are setting these are the standards of beauty whatever they set being
[30:50]thin etc etc and women are looking at this and they say
[30:53]according to this research they're internalizing it they're internalizing this is how
[30:59]what beauty is because research say communication Research suggests continuous exposure to
[31:06]a message makes one believe that this message is true.
[31:11]If you go to someone, this is real, huh?
[31:13]If you go to a student who may not be very smart,
[31:17]but you tell them you're a smart kid, you're a smart kid.
[31:21]You can do it.
[31:20]You can do it.
[31:22]You know, these words of encouragement actually research shows has an impact.
[31:27]Has an impact.
[31:27]That's why teachers, if you look at teachers, what do they try
[31:32]to do?
[31:33]They try to encourage their students.
[31:35]If someone gets 51% for example, they say, "Nice try.
[31:37]Now you made it.
[31:40]You passed.
[31:40]You've showed me that you understand more than 50% of the course,
[31:45]but next time in the next test, why don't you come and
[31:47]see me before the exam and I'll help you so that inshallah
[31:52]in the next test you shoot up even higher." Now, that motivates
[31:55]the child, motivates the student.
[31:56]He comes, he puts in the effort and then he comes and
[32:00]sees that educator, you know, the teacher and then inshallah it shoots
[32:03]up indeed.
[32:04]Next test he moves up to like for example 60%.
[32:07]Oh that's a good improvement.
[32:08]Good job.
[32:10]See I told you you can do it.
[32:11]Be like yeah I can.
[32:11]Last time I got 51%.
[32:14]This time I got 60.
[32:14]See next time inshallah you'll do even better and so on.
[32:18]So the research actually shows this.
[32:20]The opposite is true.
[32:21]The opposite is true.
[32:23]And that's why parents parents this is a message to parents as
[32:26]well.
[32:27]You know, sometimes we get really angry at our children and we
[32:29]start saying things that we should not be saying at them.
[32:34]Try not to put them down.
[32:35]Try to always encourage them that you are smart, you're good, you
[32:41]can do it.
[32:40]Positive, positive words, they make a huge difference.
[32:44]Similarly, similarly, when you come to a person, to a lady for
[32:50]example, and you tell her, "No, this is a beauty.
[32:52]This is a beauty.
[32:52]This is a beauty.
[32:54]This is a beauty." When you go on billboards, you say this
[32:57]is the standard of beauty.
[33:00]Then what happens?
[33:01]She internalizes that this is the standard of beauty that I have
[33:07]to be in this look and hence she tries to strive to
[33:14]achieve that standard of beauty by stopping eating and not in a
[33:19]healthy way.
[33:20]They don't go see a nutritionist, for example, or a dietician, for
[33:22]example, or a doctor, for example, and say, "What's the best way
[33:26]for me to do this?" No, I'll stop eating.
[33:28]They stop.
[33:29]That's not the right way of doing it.
[33:33]You're harming yourself.
[33:33]And surprisingly, brothers and sisters, I'm a I'm a principal.
[33:38]I see this happening in school.
[33:40]Girls, 12 year olds, 13 year olds, they come to school and
[33:45]they don't eat.
[33:46]So we notice interesting you know they're not having lunch.
[33:49]Upon investigation we find that they're experiencing such issues.
[33:52]They're going online and there are these social media influencers who teach
[33:59]you how to lose weight.
[34:03]The lady is not even a doctor.
[34:07]She's not a nutritionist, not a dietician.
[34:09]She herself doesn't know what she's talking about.
[34:11]But she knows how to talk.
[34:14]She's a good talker and she dresses well.
[34:18]She looks well.
[34:16]So that's it.
[34:19]So people make a connection to her.
[34:21]They make a connection and then they start following her and they
[34:26]start doing what she does.
[34:26]Now you were laughing at and telling their people to do whatever
[34:33]they do and they would follow.
[34:35]We are unfortunately in this day and age are doing the same
[34:37]thing.
[34:38]This person who is not a professional and if she were a
[34:43]doctor, okay, at least she knows what she's talking about.
[34:44]She's a professional in this field, a nutritionist, someone who's got a
[34:49]doctorate degree as a dietician for example, and she's coming out and
[34:52]saying, "Well, this is a research strategy about losing weight, for example.
[34:57]This is what you need to do." Okay, fantastic.
[35:00]That's good.
[35:02]Even then, even then, brothers and sisters, one should not resort to
[35:08]social media.
[35:07]You want to develop a strategy, you have to go to the
[35:13]doctor yourself.
[35:12]The reason is sometimes it is not one sizefits-all.
[35:17]Doesn't work that way.
[35:19]Even if this person is a physician, is a doctor and she
[35:23]says try this.
[35:25]Okay, this may work for some people but may not work with
[35:27]you because you may have a different metabolism.
[35:29]You may have different things that happening in your life.
[35:31]So that might not work for you.
[35:33]You see, but unfortunately it's being propagated as this is how it
[35:40]works.
[35:41]This is how it works.
[35:42]And and sometimes logical fallacies start to play in.
[35:46]What is logical fallacy?
[35:47]It's an argument that appears to be true, but it's actually false.
[35:51]It's false.
[35:52]Like this person would say, you know, ever since I stopped eating
[35:56]and drinking, oh my goodness, you know, I am now getting straight
[36:01]A's in my tests.
[36:04]Well, what does stop eating and drinking have to do with you
[36:06]getting straight A's in your tests?
[36:08]Yeah.
[36:09]That that's fantastic.
[36:11]Okay, who cares about studying anymore, guys?
[36:12]Let's just stop eating and drinking and then we'll all get straight
[36:17]A's in our tests.
[36:17]Do you see?
[36:19]Is there a correlation between not eating and drinking and getting A's
[36:23]in your test?
[36:23]No, there is no correlation.
[36:26]That's called a logical fallacy.
[36:28]But she presents it as if it is true.
[36:31]So people come, oh yeah, you know, I want to get Ace,
[36:33]so I'm going to stop eating and drinking.
[36:35]Come on, man.
[36:37]Use your use your brain no but unfortunately we just follow.
[36:40]So when you were laughing at Namud and his people and his
[36:46]people, that's what we are seeing in this day and age.
[36:48]There is a lot of such social media misinformation happening and unfortunately
[36:55]people are following it.
[36:56]People are believing it because they're developing a connection with this individual
[37:01]and there is something called a comparison effect.
[37:05]Dr.
[37:06]Terra Well, she's a professor at Columbia un at the department of
[37:12]psychology at Barnard College at Columbia University in the United States.
[37:17]Tara Well, w she published an article in a journal called Psychology
[37:22]Today.
[37:23]Psychology Today, Tara Well in Psychology Today.
[37:27]She published it on March 21st, 2025.
[37:30]Just couple months ago, two or three months ago.
[37:36]Okay, you're with me?
[37:36]She says social media is taking over the lives of people.
[37:41]One of the reason is comparison effect because people are comparing themselves.
[37:46]Again she adds this is happening to both men and women but
[37:49]women are more exposed to it than men.
[37:52]More are prone more affected by it than men.
[37:56]Okay the comparison they look at this person oh she's so pretty.
[38:00]Now sisters I don't see you but think about it.
[38:04]How many times how many times have you seen have you seen
[38:07]a lady on these social media platforms said mashallah she's so pretty
[38:11]look at her look this is how many times has that happened
[38:20]okay and that's why some of our in they say there is
[38:24]a problem with women posting their pictures online even with hijab even
[38:29]with hijab because think about it.
[38:32]If women are looking at her saying, "Mashallah, she's so pretty." Well,
[38:36]what do you think the men are doing?
[38:39]They're looking at him like, you see the difference, brothers?
[38:45]That's why there is a problem.
[38:47]They say there's a problem even with hijab.
[38:48]Now, a lot of girls may not be happy now with me.
[38:50]They're like, "She, you know, come on.
[38:52]Don't make life so complicated, brothers and sisters.
[38:55]I'm not making life complicated." Unfortunately, the reality of us posting our
[39:00]pictures online is creating a problem.
[39:03]In fact, research shows Terra well suggests and in this article as
[39:06]well, the one I just quoted from you for you, it suggests
[39:10]that when women and men post their pictures online, they're more subject
[39:16]to evaluation now and critique.
[39:17]The people, you know, they respond, you know, they comment.
[39:20]So sometimes the comment may be innocent innocent but it will have
[39:27]an impact.
[39:26]We had a girl in school who came one day stopping eating.
[39:30]She does not eat.
[39:31]What's the problem?
[39:33]What's the problem?
[39:33]She says the other day my cousin, you know, I had my
[39:38]picture online.
[39:37]My cousin commented.
[39:40]She said, "Mashallah, she's Lebanese." Lebanese.
[39:42]I don't Do we have any Lebanese here?
[39:44]May Allah bless you all.
[39:45]Okay.
[39:45]But Lebanese have a a statement.
[39:47]And they say, you know, you know, mashallah, you're you have you're
[39:57]looking prettier.
[39:57]Mashallah, you've gained some weight.
[40:02]You've gained some weight.
[40:03]You're looking pretty.
[40:04]Her cousin commented on her because she saw her picture.
[40:08]So, what did she say?
[40:12]No, that's good.
[40:14]Mashallah, you're looking prettier.
[40:16]She's like, my cousin said I'm fat.
[40:19]Look, she really Yeah, my cousin said, "So, I'm going to lose
[40:23]weight." Had she not posted her picture online, would have that have
[40:27]happened?
[40:27]You see the brothers and unfortunately, according to comparison theory, this happens
[40:34]a lot.
[40:35]According to this research, this happens a lot.
[40:38]A lot people comment on each other's photos and that's creating a
[40:42]problem.
[40:43]So, brothers and sisters, this is a real problem that we are
[40:46]facing with.
[40:48]That's why subhan Allah hijab hijab when it came it came to
[40:51]resolve all these problems.
[40:51]Hijab said you have to cover your body as a female from
[40:56]head to toe with the exception of your face and the hands
[40:58]up to the wrist.
[41:00]Even your feet had to be covered even the feet and you
[41:02]must wear socks when you're in the presence of an Maharam for
[41:08]example.
[41:05]Okay.
[41:06]In addition, this clothing has to be loose.
[41:10]It cannot be tight.
[41:13]Three, you cannot wear makeup in public in front of non-mar men.
[41:16]It's haram.
[41:18]If you adhere to this, then you will see that you don't
[41:24]care.
[41:23]If this lady comes on her social, you know, media and this
[41:27]influencer and says, "Try this beauty product, try that beauty product," you
[41:31]say, "Alhamdulillah, I am pretty the way I am." You develop your
[41:36]self-confidence.
[41:38]Same thing with the brothers.
[41:41]Huh?
[41:39]Brothers, may Allah bless you.
[41:43]Sometimes some people bring me some pictures.
[41:45]The brother is showing with his six-pack and smiling, mashallah, standing like
[41:50]this and taking a picture.
[41:50]Who are you taking the picture for?
[41:53]What are you showing off?
[41:58]Put a t-shirt on.
[42:00]In fact, put a shirt on.
[42:03]Okay.
[42:05]Why Why you taking a picture like this?
[42:09]Is it possible that a lady might be looking at this picture
[42:14]and then some problem might be happening from the religious perspective.
[42:17]So why are you participating in creating a problem in the society?
[42:24]That's why brothers and sisters if we go to our today unfortunately
[42:30]we did not get to live at the time of the prophetam
[42:33]we did not get to live at that time but we have
[42:36]look at them do you see their women posting their pictures online
[42:41]the daughters of the maraj today whomever you follow go search are
[42:47]his daughters posting their pictures online or are his sons posting themselves
[42:53]with a six-pack online well these These are our role models not
[42:56]those so-called influencers whatever they do you see brothers and sisters how
[43:00]we are following the trend we follow the trend this is the
[43:05]trend and that's why when I said few days ago if you
[43:10]remember I said we become desensitized to these things that's why when
[43:13]I'm talking about them people say sheh don't make religion complicated I'm
[43:17]not this is the religion of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala but because
[43:21]we're so desensitized we're so used to watching watching all these and
[43:27]seeing all these images that we feel it's it's good it's fine
[43:30]there's nothing wrong with it we have some girls some sisters may
[43:32]Allah bless them who want to play sports and I'm not against
[43:35]it that's all good but when it's only girls in an enclosed
[43:37]area no men are looking around they say well we wear hijab
[43:43]still have you ever seen a daughter of a running on the
[43:46]field playing soccer no so plays soccer no problem Football.
[43:53]Football.
[43:55]Sorry.
[43:55]We got to make sure you know we're when when in Rome,
[43:59]speak like the Romans.
[44:03]No.
[43:59]Okay.
[44:00]Um, do we ever see this?
[44:04]No.
[44:05]No problem.
[44:04]Play soccer, play basketball, play volleyball, play tennis.
[44:09]No problem.
[44:09]We're not against it.
[44:11]It's not haram.
[44:10]As long as it is in an enclosed area, no men are
[44:15]looking at you.
[44:17]Only women.
[44:16]Only women.
[44:17]Even the ref is a woman.
[44:19]You do this, no problem.
[44:22]Good.
[44:20]Alhamdulillah.
[44:21]So that's a problem brothers and sisters.
[44:24]That's the problem with social media.
[44:25]Now let me come to the shorts.
[44:27]Oh the shorts.
[44:28]Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[44:29]How many of you have watched shorts today?
[44:31]Mashallah.
[44:32]Allah bless you, brother.
[44:33]Yeah.
[44:34]Come on.
[44:35]Come on guys.
[44:34]You know we have some brave souls.
[44:36]Shorts.
[44:36]Okay.
[44:37]Awesome.
[44:38]I think everybody here.
[44:39]Mashallah.
[44:40]You guys all deserve a very loud salawat.
[44:43]Allah.
[44:46]How how much did you watch today guys?
[44:49]Shorts.
[44:50]How much?
[44:51]How long?
[44:51]1 hour.
[44:52]1 hour.
[44:53]Okay.
[44:54]What else?
[44:55]Yeah.
[44:53]Anyone?
[44:54]Any anymore?
[44:55]1 hour.
[44:57]Going once, going twice.
[44:57]Any 3 hours?
[44:59]3 hours.
[44:58]Anymore?
[44:59]Any more?
[45:01]3 hours.
[45:03]Any more than 3 hours?
[45:03]Three.
[45:04]Five hours.
[45:05]You're like five year old, man.
[45:07]You know, mashallah.
[45:10]Four hours.
[45:13]Mashallah.
[45:15]Mashallah.
[45:13]Eight.
[45:16]Okay.
[45:17]But I'm serious.
[45:18]Like if you take the average here now just just amongst us
[45:20]this is very crude survey not not not really scientific at all
[45:24]this is a really terrible science but anyways we'll we'll just go
[45:27]with it 1 hour 2 hours 2 hours let's say 2 hours
[45:33]right each short is how long friends 10 seconds 30 seconds okay
[45:37]let's say a minute a minute one day I asked a bunch
[45:42]of youth I said guys um what like how long are the
[45:46]shorts they tell me 30 seconds one minute.
[45:48]I was like like would you watch a video like 3 minutes
[45:50]long?
[45:51]Like whoa that's too long.
[45:53]3 minutes.
[45:55]I'm like good.
[45:57]I'm keeping you good attention guys.
[45:59]You know like you're listening to for like an hour.
[46:00]Alhamdulillah.
[46:02]Alhamdulillah.
[46:02]Alhamdulillah.
[46:03]I'm think I'm doing something right.
[46:08]Okay.
[46:07]So let's say one minute.
[46:13]Okay friends.
[46:14]One minute.
[46:12]So in two hours.
[46:15]Okay, you guys know math, right?
[46:18]Okay, inshallah.
[46:19]Don't don't don't disappoint me here.
[46:21]How many minutes are in two hours?
[46:23]Alhamdulillah.
[46:23]Thank you guys.
[46:24]I know I know you could do this.
[46:26]120 minutes.
[46:27]So if each video is on average one minute, in two hours,
[46:30]how many videos have you just watched?
[46:35]120 videos.
[46:36]Do you know what's happening to your brain?
[46:40]Now this 120 videos is not like it is one topic you
[46:45]know for example let's say husama tonight speaks for an hour and
[46:51]20 minutes okay as usual mashallah you know okay 1 hour and
[46:53]20 and let's say you take my video and you cut it
[46:58]down into 120 videos okay that's like all one topic you know
[47:01]it's all she talking to you like you know but in different
[47:03]segments all right it's like all one topic what you're watching is
[47:10]not one topic divided into 20 videos you're watching 120 different topics
[47:15]you see what I'm talking about friends your brain now after a
[47:21]few months after a few months what have you just trained your
[47:24]brain to do that it has a very short span to concentrate
[47:30]and focus brain elasticity your brain is getting trained you're training your
[47:35]brain without you even knowing this is not like something you know
[47:38]like workout when you work out you can see the muscles This
[47:40]is brain inside.
[47:43]You cannot see it.
[47:43]But as you're watching these videos, your brain is getting trained to
[47:52]have a short span of focus such that when you come to
[47:56]the lecture of one oh one hour man 3 minutes is too
[48:00]long.
[48:01]One hour she finish.
[48:04]I'll finish soon inshallah.
[48:06]Okay.
[48:07]Just give me I have to give the solution though before I
[48:10]finish.
[48:11]Okay.
[48:11]So here's a problem that's why I find there's a problem here.
[48:15]So first of all the time that is wasted people are wasting
[48:20]so much time 2 hours 3 hours.
[48:22]Are we learning anything about our religion in these if we are
[48:27]that's good that's good alhamdulillah but I still have a problem with
[48:31]the shorts.
[48:32]I still have a problem with the shorts but that's a time
[48:35]wasted time.
[48:36]Second, the other problem I have with this, my dear brothers and
[48:39]my dear sisters, is the attention.
[48:41]Attention.
[48:43]This lack of attention.
[48:44]Now imagine you watched 120 videos.
[48:47]How many of you guys when you go to sleep, you start
[48:51]picking up your phone and start watching mashallah?
[48:53]Video after video after video after video.
[48:56]Okay.
[48:56]On bed, you watch for like an hour.
[49:00]Sounds familiar.
[49:02]Okay.
[49:03]Well, that's causing people there is a correlation now between watching shorts
[49:09]and lack of attention.
[49:12]Watching shorts and lack of sleep creating insomnia because people now think
[49:19]about it.
[49:20]Your brain just watched 120 videos.
[49:23]What's happening to your brain?
[49:24]Your brain's getting stimulated.
[49:26]So you think when you fall when you you put your head
[49:30]on the pillow, you're going to fall asleep.
[49:31]Now imagine brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, what happens to the
[49:37]brain of a child who's watching all this?
[49:40]This friend of ours, may Allah bless him, who watches for an
[49:46]hour.
[49:43]Okay, the brain of a child is developing.
[49:47]It's in the state of development.
[49:49]You're getting it fired up for 120 videos.
[49:53]What do you think is happening to the brain of a child?
[49:58]One day a student came to school and she was exhausted.
[49:59]So I spoke to her.
[50:01]I brought her to my office.
[50:02]I said, "You know what's going on?" She said, "I couldn't fall
[50:04]asleep last night." I said, "Why not?" So, I went to bed
[50:07]at 10:00, but I couldn't fall asleep until 1:00.
[50:11]Why not?
[50:09]A 1:00.
[50:10]And then I said, "Have you been watching shorts?" She's like, "Yeah,
[50:18]like how many did you watch?" Like two hours.
[50:22]Okay.
[50:22]So, that's like 120 videos.
[50:25]That's like, of course, you can't fall asleep.
[50:27]Of course, you're not going to fall asleep.
[50:29]You're a child.
[50:31]You see brothers and sisters what's happening.
[50:32]So one problem is the time wasted on this.
[50:35]Two the attention.
[50:38]There's now a correlation between watching these shorts and attention deficit hyperactivity
[50:44]disorder ADHD.
[50:45]Three, the lack of sleep which again does not help people focus.
[50:55]Okay.
[50:56]Four, what do you think that does to the creativity of these
[51:00]children and the people?
[51:01]When do the children become creative?
[51:03]When they're bored, you give them now something, they start drawing, painting,
[51:08]knitting, crocheting, uh reading, right?
[51:12]But if they got all this, you think there will be any
[51:15]creativity anymore?
[51:17]We are killing the creativity of our children.
[51:23]Children.
[51:22]So got to be careful here brothers and sisters.
[51:26]Okay.
[51:28]And lastly, lastly, the sins.
[51:33]Let me ask you guys, this 120 videos that you've watched, all
[51:38]the content is mashallah halal.
[51:40]Let's be honest, some content is not halal, right?
[51:45]But we become curious and children become curious.
[51:49]So they start scrolling.
[51:50]So what are we having our children watch?
[51:54]And what are we watching?
[51:56]Friends, you see the problem, brothers and sisters?
[51:59]There is a huge problem.
[52:00]Really, I am worried about the doctors we're going to get 15
[52:05]years from now.
[52:07]As a principal, I can see a difference between students who were
[52:11]in grade six 10 years ago versus students in grade six now.
[52:14]I can see the difference.
[52:15]Students who are in grade six now, year six now, they appear
[52:20]to have less attention.
[52:22]They're less mature and the language that they use is different from
[52:28]10 years ago.
[52:30]Leave alone, you know, the goat I told you about yesterday, mashallah.
[52:33]You know, and the sigma and all that.
[52:36]Do you guys have that sigma here in the UK?
[52:38]Do you use it or you don't have?
[52:39]Is that like only North American thing?
[52:40]Do you you know, you know what I'm talking about?
[52:42]Okay, good.
[52:42]Because I thought like last night I was like, I don't know.
[52:46]Do they use this in the UK?
[52:46]Okay, for those of you who may not be aware, like the
[52:49]old school like me, you know, because I'm a principal, I get
[52:51]to learn a lot of things.
[52:52]Sigma means like awesome.
[52:55]It's like the new word for cool.
[52:57]Okay, so this is Sigma, you know, like this is a sigma
[52:59]lecture, you know, she, you know, that's awesome, man.
[53:02]All right.
[53:04]So 10 years ago, if you were to go to your teacher
[53:08]and tell him, teacher, you're a goat, you'd probably be in the
[53:11]principal's office.
[53:14]And if you tell your principal you're a goat, you'll probably be
[53:19]suspended.
[53:18]Nowadays, they come to the principal and say, "She, you're a goat."
[53:23]I'm like, "Man, is that how we speak?" You know?
[53:25]Well, the greatest of all times.
[53:29]Oh, okay.
[53:28]Well, just say that much better than goat.
[53:32]I'd rather be called the greatest of all times than goat.
[53:37]Okay.
[53:38]All right.
[53:39]I think I think the sigma has got people really excited.
[53:42]So can you please stand up and move forward as much as
[53:45]you can for the fulfillment of the Muhammad to hasten the reappearance
[54:03]of our im Butham.
[54:12]So brothers and sisters now because the content is also not a
[54:20]good content here.
[54:19]So I actually summarized this into an acronym.
[54:24]It's called talks with a C.
[54:27]Okay.
[54:26]T for time.
[54:30]These are the problems with shorts.
[54:32]The problems I have with shorts.
[54:34]Talks.
[54:35]T for time.
[54:37]The time wasted.
[54:39]A for attention.
[54:40]Lack of attention.
[54:43]L for lack of sleep.
[54:47]C for creativity.
[54:52]We're killing creativity.
[54:51]And S for sins talks.
[54:54]So these are some of the problems with shorts.
[54:57]What are the solutions?
[55:00]The solutions the acronym is MAI MAI is our solution.
[55:08]Now someone tells me she do you use chatbt for these?
[55:12]No, I actually get them myself guys.
[55:15]I make these you know I spent time doing this.
[55:16]Okay I those of you who've been following my lectures you've seen
[55:21]my acronyms for like over a decade and I've been coming up
[55:22]with acronyms for a while long before AI.
[55:24]I have my own AI you know that's like AI.
[55:28]So what are some of the solutions?
[55:33]Well, first of all, brothers and sisters, m in for mindfulness.
[55:35]We need to become mindful.
[55:37]And what do I mean by this?
[55:38]Honestly speaking, guys, I think it's important for us to stop watching
[55:43]shorts.
[55:44]Period.
[55:45]I know this is really extreme, but really my advice, even if
[55:49]you're watching good content, let's say you're watching, okay, that's fantastic.
[55:53]May Allah bless I really I'm grateful that you're watching but don't
[55:57]watch me on shorts.
[55:58]Watch me on the whole lecture.
[55:58]Like sheh, you speak for an hour and 20 minutes for God's
[56:02]sake.
[56:03]If I think 3 minutes is too long, you think I'm going
[56:04]to listen to you for an hour and 20 minutes.
[56:07]But at least listen guys, I'd rather you listen to me for
[56:12]five, six, 10 minutes and then take a break and then come
[56:15]back and listen five 10 minutes than listening to shorts because you
[56:20]are not training your brain to have a small focus span 3
[56:27]minutes 3 minutes 3 minutes 3 minutes okay so that's why I
[56:30]know this may sound extreme but really on a realistic point of
[56:33]view brothers and sisters sometimes you really have to stop it you
[56:37]know god forbid god God forbid those of you who are medical
[56:40]doctors you know sometimes people have diabetes and because of diabetes they
[56:44]need to amputate a limb and that's an extreme measure very but
[56:47]they say you know we have to we have to go to
[56:50]this extreme to save your life if we don't amputate the limb
[56:55]you're going to die so sometimes you got to go to an
[56:57]extreme measure to solve the problem so mindfulness is being mindful of
[57:06]what social media and shorts are doing to us and that's one
[57:09]thing we need to do.
[57:11]So when we watch these social media influencers, first of all, stop
[57:15]watching them.
[57:15]Stop watching these influencers.
[57:16]Who are these guys?
[57:20]Watch at least scholars, professionals, that's fine.
[57:23]And I'm not talking about, for example, DIY, do-it-yourself videos.
[57:27]You know, sometimes you want to get something done, you look at
[57:30]a short video to do it.
[57:31]That's fine.
[57:32]I'm not talking about those.
[57:32]I'm talking about the things that are useless, things that promote certain
[57:39]ideologies, certain kind of behavior that are impacting our lives for God's
[57:44]sake according to research.
[57:45]So that's one thing.
[57:45]So we got to be mindful and hence have the determination, stop
[57:49]influencers, stop watching shorts, let's go back to watching some real time
[57:54]lectures so that we can benefit inshallah and retrain our brain because
[57:59]there's something called brain elasticity.
[58:01]You can rewire your brain.
[58:02]You can retrain it.
[58:05]Okay, brothers and sisters.
[58:06]So that's one thing.
[58:06]Mindfulness.
[58:08]M a the A in Mahi is Arabic and what do I
[58:16]mean by this?
[58:19]We need to learn Arabic.
[58:20]Teach our children Arabic and learn.
[58:24]and watch videos that teach you rules of salat, rules of learn
[58:32]about your religion.
[58:32]Teach your children Arabic.
[58:33]Brothers and sisters, I don't know how many of you have seen
[58:37]this.
[58:35]I've seen it a lot.
[58:39]I travel during the month of Ramadan and on the you find
[58:44]the parents are reading dua but the children are playing games and
[58:49]then you come and ask the child why are you playing games?
[58:52]says, "She I don't know how to read Arabic.
[58:55]This is like Chinese to me.
[58:56]I don't know how to read." And then mashallah, one hour long.
[58:59]Well, I can't even read it.
[59:02]Well, then our duty is to what?
[59:05]Teach our children Arabic.
[59:05]Teach them.
[59:06]Teach them how to read the Quran so that they can join
[59:09]us when we read dua.
[59:11]Not that I am in the majus reading and my son is
[59:13]playing outside.
[59:15]You see brothers and sisters, if that's the case with my son,
[59:21]then what's going to happen to my grandson?
[59:23]My son is already outside the where will my grandson be?
[59:28]God knows where.
[59:29]You guys see what I'm talking about?
[59:30]That's reality, huh?
[59:33]Reality.
[59:34]So, we have to teach the A for learning Arabic and our
[59:40]religion rules.
[59:41]So, and we got to teach them to our children.
[59:44]Bring them teachers.
[59:47]I know mashallah they put their children in the best of schools.
[59:50]They spend like £10,000 a year per child.
[59:53]Fantastic.
[59:52]Why?
[59:52]Well, I want them to have a good future.
[59:54]Well, make sure that they know how to read Arabic so that
[59:57]at least when you die, they raise their hand and say, "Oh,
[59:59]Allah, forgive my parents." What's the point of me having my son,
[60:04]mah, very successful lawyer, a very successful doctor, but he does not
[60:09]even know anything about religion.
[60:10]I saw this with my own eyes.
[60:13]Believe me.
[60:15]Huh?
[60:16]One day we're attending May for a muaty.
[60:17]So I came to to attend.
[60:21]They told me they introduced me to the son of the they
[60:23]said this is his son.
[60:26]I said condolences.
[60:27]We were standing to pray.
[60:30]I don't know how many of you have prayed but it takes
[60:32]like what 3, five minutes, four minutes.
[60:35]That's it.
[60:36]Salat is very short and you don't have to have forat.
[60:41]Okay.
[60:41]So it's a special salat.
[60:44]There are five and then you read some thing after every until
[60:48]the last one.
[60:50]Okay.
[60:51]It takes more than maximum maximum five minutes.
[60:53]Maximum five minutes.
[60:56]Okay.
[60:57]This person's father just passed away.
[61:01]Wah.
[60:59]Guys, we were praying in the middle of the salah.
[61:04]This guy's phone rings.
[61:07]He picks up the phone.
[61:07]Hello.
[61:08]Oh yeah.
[61:09]I'm busy right now.
[61:10]I I'll call you back later.
[61:11]Yeah.
[61:12]Yeah.
[61:13]Yeah.
[61:14]Yeah.
[61:12]I was shocked.
[61:15]This guy did not even pray on his father.
[61:20]And I'm like thinking to is this how we want to raise
[61:24]our children?
[61:25]When I die, my child will not even pray over my dead
[61:27]body.
[61:29]You guys see the reality?
[61:32]This is where we're going.
[61:32]Huh?
[61:33]So, we have to be careful.
[61:34]Huh?
[61:35]I want my children inshallah at least to remember me.
[61:38]Ya Allah, forgive my father.
[61:40]Forgive my mother.
[61:40]Like we read in the dua and the they read and they
[61:44]give the to my to my soul we will be in most
[61:49]need of dua and Quran at that time.
[61:51]You see guys?
[61:53]So M for mindfulness.
[61:53]We need to be mindful and stop watching the shorts, stop watching
[61:59]the influencers.
[62:01]Really paying attention to our self and our dean and religion.
[62:05]A for Arabic and what's the next letter in H.
[62:12]Good.
[62:13]Some of you are awake with me.
[62:13]Alhamdulillah.
[62:14]Good.
[62:15]Good.
[62:16]Good.
[62:17]The H.
[62:16]Hobbies.
[62:16]We need to come up with hobbies for ourselves and our children.
[62:24]Because you tell your child, "Son, don't play this." You know what
[62:29]happens?
[62:30]Like, "Okay, dad, I'm bored.
[62:31]I'm bored.
[62:33]Okay, son.
[62:35]Read a book.
[62:37]Okay, I'm bored." Okay.
[62:37]So, you got to develop a hobby.
[62:40]Now, initially it will take time.
[62:41]Sports for example, you can take them into sports.
[62:46]develop uh sewing, knitting, um for example, reading, painting, coloring, drawing.
[62:54]Get their creativity out.
[62:56]Get their creativity out.
[62:57]Okay?
[62:58]But we need to invest time with them.
[63:01]Okay?
[63:01]So that's really important.
[63:01]So the H is for hobby.
[63:05]We need to have a hobby.
[63:05]D for dua.
[63:09]Dua.
[63:10]Dua.
[63:12]There is dua number 25 of dua 25 of for the children.
[63:19]Let's read that dua for our children.
[63:20]Let us read dua.
[63:23]How many of us read dua for injust before dua?
[63:32]If you flip just one page, one page before dua and this
[63:36]is dua.
[63:37]I go one page before.
[63:38]There is a short zara of the im after read that z
[63:45]honestly it will not take you more than two minutes it's a
[63:50]short z every day after you start your morning with the remembrance
[63:53]of the imam our imam is alive he sees us he hears
[64:00]us he's not away he's with us but we need to develop
[64:02]that connection I need to extend my hand so he can pick
[64:06]me up but if I have my hand like And they say,
[64:09]"Im come." You see, brothers and sisters, at the very least, we
[64:13]need to remember him in the dua.
[64:14]Remember him in the every day in the those of you who
[64:20]prayed with meat.
[64:22]Which dua did we pray in the inah tonight?
[64:26]Do you remember which one in your read this dua?
[64:31]In the morning and at night at least.
[64:34]So you start your first salat in the day with dua.
[64:37]You end your day with dua remembrance of the im.
[64:43]So dua we need to develop a connection to our 12th imam.
[64:49]We need to develop this connection reading dua praying for him.
[64:54]Reading dua paying every day on his behalf for his security and
[65:01]protection.
[65:02]Praying every day for his security and protection.
[65:05]We should do this.
[65:09]We develop a connection to our im.
[65:10]The deeper our connection to him, then inshallah, the better we can
[65:17]become.
[65:18]And the last one is what?
[65:19]What letter in Mai?
[65:20]I investing time on ourselves and our family.
[65:26]Brothers and sisters, you need to invest time.
[65:29]So M for mindfulness.
[65:30]You got to be mindful.
[65:33]This is what I need to do.
[65:35]And this is what I'm going to do.
[65:37]So from tonight, please, I'm not saying don't use social media.
[65:40]I'm not saying do not, you know, look at videos.
[65:43]I'm just saying be careful, brothers and sisters.
[65:46]They're taking a lot of our time and they're wasting our time
[65:49]and they're manipulating our brain.
[65:50]And on top of this, they're influencing us in wrong directions away
[65:56]from the school of So the M is mindfulness.
[66:01]A for Arabic and for ourselves and our children.
[66:06]The H for hobbies we need to develop hobbies so that we
[66:10]can get involved volunteering you guys this foundation there's so many organizations
[66:17]may Allah bless them all they're all volunteer with them that's a
[66:21]good okay so the H the D for dua and we need
[66:26]to develop a connection to pay attention to our religion and the
[66:33]I is for investing time with our children investing time.
[66:36]That's what we find in the companions of Alam Hussein.
[66:40]What do you think?
[66:41]How did these guys were Subhan Allah came?
[66:43]You think they were like on social media?
[66:47]Those guys were busy doing playing the whole time.
[66:53]No.
[66:50]When got killed, the head of the im Hussein said, "May Allah
[66:59]have mercy on you, Habib.
[67:03]You used to finish the Quran every night for 40 years.
[67:06]40 years.
[67:08]Subhan Allah.
[67:10]He had the Quran probably memorized and he probably as he walk
[67:14]he would read the Quran.
[67:16]As he would do something, he's reading the Quran such that every
[67:19]day he finishes the Quran.
[67:20]Subhan Allah.
[67:23]The companions of Im Hussein.
[67:28]on the eve of on the eve of they were all praying
[67:35]Quran doing dua doing this is their this is was their tradition
[67:40]when Abui comes to the im in the midst of the battle
[67:45]and says there is nothing more beloved to me than being killed
[67:50]in your path defending you but I see it is the time
[67:52]of salat and I would love to meet my lord Having prayed
[67:58]the salat, he knows he's going to Jenna.
[68:01]He knows.
[68:02]But subhan Allah, he is programmed because he programmed himself.
[68:06]When salat comes, I need to pray.
[68:08]So now when he saw the time of salat, even though it's
[68:14]battle and spears and arrows are flying all over the place, Im
[68:17]Hussein did not need Abu Tom about the time of salat, but
[68:22]he wanted to show us these are my companions, guys.
[68:24]Do you think social media influencers will take us that path?
[68:29]These shorts will take us into that path.
[68:31]So that's why I'm telling you guys sometimes we really need to
[68:34]take a bold action.
[68:37]Bold action because we want to be with Im Hussein.
[68:38]What do we read in the Zara?
[68:42]I wish I was with you so that I would win a
[68:44]great victory.
[68:50]Isn't that our wish?
[68:53]Inshallah.
[68:52]Inshallah.
[68:52]We might have missed on but inshallah we are with im.
[68:58]So I have to be someone whom the im is pleased with.
[69:02]The imam is happy with I have to work hard.
[69:06]It's doable.
[69:08]Was not he did it.
[69:13]Wahab was a Christian man.
[69:16]He was not mum.
[69:16]He became a Muslim and he did it.
[69:18]So why can't I do it?
[69:22]Why can't I do it?
[69:22]I can do it.
[69:24]You think they did not have their own distractions at the time?
[69:29]Yes, they did.
[69:29]Just like Namud distracted people and distracted people also had a lot
[69:34]of distractions.
[69:35]But these guys made it through all these distractions and they won.
[69:39]And we can win as well because we love our im.
[69:44]And we love im Hussein.
[69:47]What do we always say to IM Hussein?
[69:52]We say Hussein.
[69:59]What does mean?
[70:01]Means I'm coming for you.
[70:02]I'm with you Abdullah.
[70:05]I'm on your path.
[70:05]And we really mean it.
[70:09]But it means I have to put in now the effort to
[70:10]elevate myself to reach that status.
[70:14]those people those 72 companions give or take some say a little
[70:20]bit more because some people converted from the other side like and
[70:24]others so let's say a 100 people I think one time I
[70:29]read there were 133 in total in total 133 companions in total
[70:33]with Imam al Hussein that including the people who turned switch sides
[70:39]okay so 133 people we want to be with them we want
[70:46]to be amongst them.
[70:46]Inshallah, inshallah, we need to invest time.
[70:52]Those people were amazing people.
[70:53]Im Hussein tells them, "Leave, go." The night before, they say, "No,
[70:58]we will die with you.
[71:01]We will never leave you.
[71:02]If they cut us into thousand pieces and burn us and then
[71:05]resurrect us and then again they do this for us 1,000 times,
[71:09]we will never let go of you.
[71:11]How about it when it's only once?" He tells his family members,
[71:16]his own cousins and brothers, "Leave me." They say, "You, you are
[71:21]our leader.
[71:22]You are our master.
[71:22]What will we say to your mother if we leave you?" And
[71:30]what kind of a life is this?
[71:32]A life without Hussein.
[71:34]We don't want that kind of a life.
[71:39]We want to be with you.
[71:40]And indeed, subhan Allah, on the day of Ash, they remain steadfast
[71:44]with Al Hussein.
[71:47]Even the women who were there, some of the companions had their
[71:52]wives, had their mother.
[71:52]Subhan Allah.
[71:53]A man by the name of Abdullahbn Kali.
[71:56]He was the first person to go and fight.
[72:00]Imam Hussein told him go.
[72:02]He went and fought, got his hand cut off, but then he
[72:04]came back and he stayed with Imam Hussein for some time.
[72:08]Then he went to fight again and then got killed.
[72:11]The first time when he went out his wife came joined him
[72:15]and picked up a pillar and started said I'm coming with you.
[72:19]He told her go back.
[72:20]So then he turned to Im Hussein.
[72:21]He said please send her back.
[72:23]So he told her go back.
[72:27]So she listened to Im Hussein.
[72:28]Later the second time when Abdullah went to fight she also again
[72:31]went after him and she took the pillar with him with her.
[72:37]Im Hussein again told her may Allah have mercy go back.
[72:39]So she went back they killed her husband Abdullah.
[72:43]They cut off his head and they threw it over.
[72:47]She came she picked it up and she started wiping the dust
[72:50]and the blood off of his face his wife and she said
[72:57]congratulations to you.
[72:56]I wish I can also join you in Jenna.
[72:59]Subhan Allah.
[73:01]Allah accepted her dua.
[73:03]heed her.
[73:04]He told his slave, "Go kill her." So the slave of Shimmer
[73:10]went, hit her on her head and she died.
[73:13]She was the first lady, female martyr on the day of Ash.
[73:16]And then his mother, the mother of Abdul, this is his wife.
[73:22]She died.
[73:23]She got killed.
[73:22]His mother then picked up his head and said, "Well done, son.
[73:28]I am so proud of you.
[73:28]I will be so happy when I meet Fatam.
[73:32]And then she throws her head against one of the enemies.
[73:35]It strikes his head and kills him.
[73:37]That's the mother of Abdah.
[73:38]Subhan Allah.
[73:39]These brave hero women in Kbalah.
[73:42]They were with Al Hussein.
[73:47]With Zam those men one after the other, they would come to
[73:52]Im Hussein before leaving with utmost respect.
[73:54]They say Abdullah give us permission to go fight before you.
[74:04]Im al Hussein would give them permission.
[74:11]They would go fighting bravely dying before the im with utmost happiness
[74:17]and joy until Muslim goes to the battlefield.
[74:23]He fights bravely.
[74:25]He falls on the plains of imus walks towards him with he
[74:35]finds him in his final moment.
[74:40]He looks at Im Hussein.
[74:41]What an honor.
[74:43]Im Hussein has walked to me.
[74:45]What an honor.
[74:48]He smiles.
[74:50]Khabib looks at Muslim says, "Muslim, it is difficult for me to
[74:53]see you in such a state.
[74:55]Uh, if I knew that I would be living much longer after
[75:01]you, I would have liked you to give me your will, but
[75:05]I know I'm going to be dying so shortly." Muslim says, "I
[75:10]have a will." Yahib, in a faint voice, as he's dying, he's
[75:14]covered in his wounds.
[75:18]He says, "Yes, Muslim, what is your will?" He raises his arm,
[75:23]points at imus and says, "Habib, [Music] take care of this of
[75:42]don't leave him alone.
[75:45]die fighting before him.
[75:48]Habib said, "I will." Yah Muslim and Muslim then died.
[75:57]Allah im Hussein said, "May Allah have mercy on you Muslim.
[76:01]You remembered you fought before us when you were alive and you
[76:10]made us your will as you were dying.
[76:27][Music] [Laughter] [Music] Then comes Wahab who was a Christian became became
[76:43]a Muslim with Imam al Hussein.
[76:44]He had his wife and his mother and he wanted to go
[76:51]to the battlefield.
[76:50]His mother told him, "Son, go make me proud in front of
[76:58]Fatima Zaham." He said, "I will, mother.
[77:01]I will." His wife held on to him.
[77:03]She said, "Wahab, do not leave me in this world alone." His
[77:06]mother said, "Don't listen to her.
[77:07]Go yahab." So he went.
[77:11]He fought bravely.
[77:10]His hands were cut off.
[77:14]Her fingers, his fingers were cut off.
[77:15]Then he came back to his mother said, "Mother, are you pleased
[77:19]with me?
[77:21]I lost my fingers defending Abdullah Hussein." She said, "No, not until
[77:26]you die defending Abdullah Hussein." At that moment, he wants to head
[77:32]back.
[77:33]His wife holds on to him.
[77:35]She says, "Take me with you.
[77:36]I want to fight and defend Abdah Hussein with you.
[77:42]He says, "What changed you?
[77:44]Just few minutes ago, you were telling me not to leave you
[77:50]and not to go and fight.
[77:50]Now you want to join me in the battle." She said, "Wahab,
[77:57]do not blame me.
[77:57]The call of Im Hussein broke my heart into pieces." He said,
[78:04]"What did you hear him say?" She said, "I saw him standing
[78:10]by his dance.
[78:08]He held on to his holy beard and he said, [Music] [Applause]
[78:24][Music] Is there anyone to help us?
[78:34]Is there anyone to support us?
[78:37]Is there anyone seeking Jenna who would seek us?
[78:40]The cry of Im Hussein broke my heart into peace.
[78:45]I want to join you and fight defending him.
[78:48]He then looks at Im Hussein says please ask my wife to
[78:55]go back to the tent.
[78:56]So I im Hussein says may Allah have mercy on you go
[79:01]back to the tent.
[79:00]So she goes back and he goes back fighting bravely until he
[79:07]is martyed.
[79:09]He comes fighting bravely after repenting after coming to Im Hussein saying
[79:16]I am repenting.
[79:19]Will Allah forgive me?
[79:20]He said yes indeed.
[79:23]He goes and fights bravely.
[79:24]He's lying on the plains of Kbala.
[79:27]Im al Hussein walks to him and he says, "Congratulations y indeed
[79:32]you are a free man free in dun and in the he
[79:37]dies happily." Then one former slave of Imam by the name of
[79:44]W.
[79:44]Im Hussein freed him.
[79:44]He was a Turkish slave.
[79:48]He said go y leave me.
[79:49]He said I will never leave you.
[79:50]Yah abdah even though you freed me I will stay with you.
[79:56]So he fights defending Abi Abdullah Hussein.
[79:58]As he falls on the plains of Kbalam in his final moments
[80:05]he finds Im Hussein coming to him.
[80:08]He puts his holy cheek on the cheek of Wav opens his
[80:15]eyes.
[80:17]He says who's like me and I've got the cheek of the
[80:28]prophet's grandson touching my cheek.
[80:31]I say, "Ya Allah, in our final moment, let the cheek of
[80:36]our imam also touch our cheek.
[80:38]Ya Allah." [Music] Ah, then comes two brothers by the name of
[80:44]Al J.
[80:47]They appear before I im Hussein crying.
[80:51]He says, "Why are you crying?
[80:56]Are you afraid of death?" They say, "No, but we are among
[81:00]the last of your companions with you.
[81:03]And we see how the enemies are surrounding you.
[81:07]We are crying for you, Yah, that we are unable to defend
[81:18]you.
[81:16]Im Hussein says, "May Allah have mercy on you to go and
[81:23]fight and we will join you shortly." When all the companions were
[81:31]martyed, Imam al Hussein stood there looking at the bodies of the
[81:37]companions.
[81:36]He started calling.
[81:38][Applause] [Music] Why am I calling you and you're not answering me
