[0:21]the past few days and weeks have been very difficult for our

[0:31]Community as Lebanon is being bombed it's been probably over 10 days

[0:40]now that the situation has gotten really bad and although we have

[0:47]been in pain for close to a year now because Gazza was

[0:51]being bombed and the people of Gazza were being massacred today we

[0:57]see the same or something similar taking place place in southern Lebanon

[1:02]and this is it brings the pain much more severe because this

[1:10]is closer to home as many people have relatives many people have

[1:15]homes um Family displaced people that they know people that we know

[1:21]in this community that have lost loved ones and this is indeed

[1:26]it is a very difficult time for everyone and in times of

[1:31]tragedy and Times of Crisis and Times of pain the reality of

[1:41]people comes out always whenever there's a test whenever people are going

[1:47]through difficulties and trials in life their reality comes out their reality

[1:51]appears you see there are some people in test in a crisis

[1:59]they crumble they cannot survive they cannot stand they start crumbling and

[2:03]they fall and they lose their faith and they lose God and

[2:06]they lose everything but you also see on the other side there

[2:11]are people that when they are tested when they're Afflicted with a

[2:15]tragedy you see that they begin to shine you see that they

[2:21]show their faith and they show their Iman and their strength it

[2:26]becomes very clear so different people have different realities for example we

[2:33]saw in the past year how many from the Muslim world over

[2:37]1.5 billion Muslims the Muslims they have the money they have the

[2:46]militaries they have the resources they have the lobbies here in Washington

[2:50]DC and across the west but how many of the Muslims use

[2:57]their resources and their power and their voices to speak out against

[3:01]the oppression that's going on in gazah you see that the reality

[3:06]is that not many of them spoke out and this crisis it

[3:10]revealed the reality of the Muslim umah as a whole you see

[3:16]some countries some states some Muslims they decided to stay silent they

[3:20]decided to put their own interests ahead and above the thousands of

[3:27]lives thousands of innocent lives that are being killed this is one

[3:32]group of people that we saw and we also saw other groups

[3:36]and we are proud to say that most of them not all

[3:37]of them most of them they attribute themselves to the followers of

[3:43]the where they spoke out against the oppression they spoke out against

[3:50]the Tyranny and today many of them are paying the price for

[3:53]that today many of them are paying the price for speaking out

[3:57]against the wrong so you see in times of Crisis you see

[4:02]the reality of people one group of people you you see how

[4:08]how much of Hypocrites they are how silent they are how quiet

[4:11]they are and how they just want to appease the tyrants and

[4:16]they want to appease the countries and the money and you also

[4:20]see others who are willing to sacrifice everything that they have for

[4:24]the sake of the H for the sake of the truth and

[4:27]this is what Islam teaches us us Islam tells us that we

[4:33]have to speak out against Injustice and today we saw in the

[4:42]past year we saw stories of Bravery stories of resilience stories of

[4:46]Iman from Gazza and today we are also hearing similar and even

[4:51]greater stories from Southern Lebanon and you see how some people they

[4:56]don't break they don't shatter their hearts are very strong and we

[5:03]saw this in Gaza we saw families the whole families they're wiped

[5:08]out and they don't complain they stay strong they say this is

[5:13]our land and we're going to remain in this land and we're

[5:15]going to remain defending the truth and today we see the same

[5:21]thing in Lebanon a friend was telling me he spoke with someone

[5:23]who just a few days ago he lost both his eyes lost

[5:28]both his eyes and his hands they were lost and he says

[5:34]I was speaking to him I was heartbroken I was saddened and

[5:39]that man who lost both of his eyes he's telling me don't

[5:43]worry about me we're fine he's telling he's telling me be be

[5:47]calm where do you find strength like this where do you find

[5:53]Iman like this where do you find bravery like this because most

[5:57]people in times of Crisis they crumble here in in the US

[6:03]in 2008 there was a financial crisis the the stock market people

[6:07]are looking at the stock market and they see it go down

[6:10]a little some people they lose Faith they want to go and

[6:12]commit suicide they become depressed they become they they they lose hope

[6:18]in everything while you see other families that are seeing their children

[6:22]and their family members and their loved ones and their homes being

[6:25]destroyed and they say no we're going to remain strong the question

[6:29]that we want to look at is where does this come from

[6:35]where does this bravery come from where does this strength come from

[6:38]how is how are some people so strong and others so weak

[6:43]there are several reasons for this but perhaps the most important reason

[6:49]that a group of people or a person can be inspired to

[6:55]have that strength is the faith in Allah subhah wa tala when

[6:58]you have faith in God nothing can break you when you have

[7:02]faith in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala you become stronger you are training

[7:09]yourself today some people they ask why do we have to pray

[7:13]five times a day why do I have to fast during the

[7:17]month of Ramadan why do I have to go to Hajj why

[7:18]do I have to pay zakat all of this praying and this

[7:22]fasting and this zakat and this Hajj this is all training so

[7:25]that when you deal with a difficult moment you become you you

[7:32]remain strong you're training yourself just like an athlete they go and

[7:35]they work out every day they work out so that the day

[7:38]of the marathon the day that they're being tested that day they

[7:41]will not fall they will not crumble this is the role of

[7:44]faith and the power of faith it is indeed very powerful today

[7:49]we live in a time where some people they make fun of

[7:51]prayers some people they make fun of believing in God but you

[7:57]see that the role of Faith shines in moments like this when

[8:00]people are struggling when people are going through trials when people are

[8:05]going through tests in their life you see that this is when

[8:10]the faith shines this is when you see that Faith really does

[8:13]help Faith really does keep me a strong person and there are

[8:19]many benefits when it comes to Faith from amongst the benefits of

[8:22]Faith one of the benefits is that when you have faith in

[8:25]Allah subhah wa ta'ala you teach yourself and you are INSP ired

[8:32]to be patient in difficult times a having patience it's a part

[8:39]of Faith the Hadith says patience is a part of Faith just

[8:42]as the head is a part of the body can you have

[8:46]faith without sa you can't they go hand in hand with one

[8:48]another if a the more Iman a person has the more faith

[8:54]a person has you see the more patient this person will be

[8:59]in times of crisis because Faith inspires you to become patient because

[9:04]I know that there's a day of judgment there's there's there is

[9:09]accountability Allah subhah wa taala is going to reward Allah is going

[9:14]to punish some people the oppressors Allah is going to reward those

[9:18]who are patient those who endured I believe I'm not only looking

[9:20]for the quick reward in this duny I'm wait the real reward

[9:26]is in the this D is just a few days and it

[9:30]passes everyone is tested in this Dunya but when we go to

[9:33]the that is when Allah subhana wa tala will reward us who

[9:38]knows this the one who has faith and the one who has

[9:40]faith will be patient in difficult times this is why Allah says

[9:42]in the Quran oh you people who believe have meaning seek help

[9:58]how do you seek help with what what do I need to

[10:01]help me right now in a time of crisis in a difficult

[10:05]time Allah tells me two things you need patience you need to

[10:09]keep reminding yourself let me be patient let me be patient it's

[10:15]okay I have to be stronger I have to be patient Allah

[10:17]tells the prophet you want to be a prophet you have to

[10:24]be patient just like all of the prophets were patient just like

[10:28]n was patient just like a was patient just like IIM was

[10:31]patient just like M was patient you have to be patient in

[10:40]one verse Allah says oh you people who believe be patient and

[10:46]have other people encourage the patience in other people strengthen the in

[10:52]other people seek seek help and patience and then Allah says in

[11:01]the Quran who is who are the ones who God is with

[11:07]them how do I know if God is with me whether I'm

[11:10]patient or not if I'm patient I should know that even if

[11:15]the whole world turns against me Allah will be with me is

[11:18]God lying to me Allah is telling me God is with those

[11:22]who are patient this is one second when you have faith how

[11:28]do I benefit from faith it gives me S second Faith strengthens

[11:33]my sense oful in Allah subhana tala the cfir the non-believer does

[11:38]not have tole on Allah the cfir will rely on this person

[11:43]and that person and myself and my own talents they don't have

[11:48]in Allah subhana wa tala but a m a m says God

[11:53]knows what's best Allah knows there's some type of secret there's some

[11:58]there's something that my mind does not comprehend that Allah subhana tala

[12:02]knows so I will leave the matters up to Allah subhana wa

[12:05]tala why don't I let Allah lead why don't I let Allah

[12:15]is in the hands of Allah subhana T and I'm surrendered that

[12:18]I will be calm I say Allah will make matters easy yes

[12:22]this doesn't mean that I stayed lazy and I don't do anything

[12:24]and I say we leave it up to God no he says

[12:29]tired camel and then rely on Allah subhana wa tala don't just

[12:35]leave the camel and say I I rely on Allah no so

[12:37]we do what we can we try our best but at the

[12:40]end I've I've did everything that I could do now I leave

[12:44]matters up to Allah subhana tala if God wants it to happen

[12:46]today it will happen today if God wants it to happen tomorrow

[12:50]it will happen tomorrow if God wants it to happen in 40

[12:52]years it will happen in 40 years but Allah knows best and

[12:57]Allah will reward me for my patience Allah subhah tala knows best

[13:02]and Allah subhana says in say oh Believers say nothing will happen

[13:20]to me except that which God decreed yes is being faithful and

[13:25]being Iman meaning every day is always easy easy easy easy no

[13:28]look at the prophets of Allah they all went through difficulties says

[13:39]he endured battle after battle after battle he endured hardship he endured

[13:45]assault he endured mocking but was patient and he left the matters

[13:51]up to Allah he did his job and Allah subhah wa ta'ala

[13:55]did the rest so when you have IM in Allah subhana tala

[13:59]you say that's it I will do my best and I will

[14:02]leave everything in the hands of Allah subhanahu waa and Allah bring

[14:12]Victory look be going through difficulties in life does not mean that

[14:18]Allah has left you Allah does not leave you IM Hussein was

[14:21]butchered on the day of as but did Allah leave IM Hussein

[15:11]is that Faith Allah subhanahu waaa tells me if I'm a faithful

[15:21]dignity I cannot be living a humiliated low lifestyle and at the

[15:28]same time have faith in Allah subhana tala Allah subhanahu wa taala

[15:32]this is one of the beauties of Faith why am I you

[15:36]ask someone out in the street they tell you why should I

[15:38]be a faithful person why should I be a Muslim I tell

[15:42]them because Faith gives you dignity K in this D today look

[15:44]at the people that don't have faith they go and they do

[15:47]the drugs they put the drugs in their bodies they go and

[15:50]they have relations outside of marriage which are degrading which are taking

[15:54]away their self-respect they go and they reveal their whole bodies outside

[15:58]they go and they lie and they chill and they Ste they

[16:03]steal and they cheat and they do everything this is lack of

[16:06]K this is lack of dignity when Allah subhah wa taala tells

[16:11]me follow the rules of Islam Allah wants me to be living

[16:14]a dignified lifestyle Allah does not want any person to look at

[16:19]me and say look how low this person is and there's a

[16:23]difference between being humble and between living a lifestyle that is lack

[16:28]of dignity Allah wants the mmin to have their head raised up

[16:32]high not head raised high as in they're looking down at people

[16:37]but this person is living with Allah says in the Quran Allah

[16:47]subhana T has honored you as a human being and your faith

[16:53]tells you to be on living an honored lifestyle this is why

[16:57]my faith forbid me from doing anything that takes away my K

[17:04]there's a beautiful Hadith where Allah subhana wa tala says God has

[17:07]given the M the authority and the power to do whatever they

[17:10]want you could do whatever you want in your life but Allah

[17:14]has not given you permission to take away your own dignity and

[17:17]K Allah has not given you that permission you have to live

[17:22]a life with dignity and honor where does this come from this

[17:26]comes from faith today we see whe whether it's in Gazza whether

[17:31]it's in Palestine or whether it's in Lebanon or in Yemen you

[17:38]see Believers the bombs are falling over their head but they are

[17:42]saying this is my land and this is my honor and this

[17:46]is my dignity and this is my faith and I shall never

[17:48]give it up where does this come from this comes from Allah

[17:53]this comes from faith faith is what tells you this if you

[17:56]don't have faith then you're going to leave you're going to run

[18:01]away and we see many others as soon as they hear something

[18:03]right away they run away right away they escape but when you

[18:08]have faith you say it's okay I have faith in Allah subhanahu

[18:12]wa'ta'ala when you have faith in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also another

[18:17]benefit of faith is that when a person has Faith you don't

[18:24]lose faith that Allah subhah you you you have faith that Allah

[18:28]is going to give you Victory and you also have faith in

[18:34]Allah that Allah is going to punish the aggressors and the tyrants

[18:37]can aim can an oppressor escape from the justice of God maybe

[18:43]in this dun people they come and they give bribes people come

[18:48]and they give the president they give a judge they give Congressman

[18:51]they give them money and there's no judgment and there's no justice

[18:54]in this duny but the day of judgment the the day of

[19:00]judgment can anyone Escape can someone escape from the justice of Allah

[19:03]subhana tala no no one can theim the oppressor will receive Justice

[19:09]in this D and in the and Allah says in the Quran

[19:18]and do not think that Allah is do not think that Allah

[19:24]is not aware do not think that Allah is not watching what

[19:27]the are doing Allah subhah wa ta'ala is not like you and

[19:40]me sometimes you and I we're in a rush we want if

[19:44]someone did something wrong we want to come and punish this person

[19:47]right away Allah Allah will delay them Allah subhanahu wa taala you

[19:57]cannot escape from the justice of God but sometimes Allah says took

[19:59]okay do what you want to do you think you're going to

[20:03]escape from God's justice you have an extra day an extra year

[20:05]an extra decade you think that's going to make a difference in

[20:09]the whole calculation of God that's not going to make anything Allah

[20:17]is going to delay them to the day that the eyes are

[20:22]going to be everyone's eyes are going to have fear you're going

[20:25]to see the fear in the eyes of people that's when Allah

[20:30]subh is going to hold them accountable and of course the day

[20:36]of Justice on that day is much more sever than Justice in

[20:40]this D this is why thei of he says the day of

[20:52]the the day of the oppressed over the oppressor is much more

[20:56]severe than the day that theim right now the oppressor right now

[21:01]is oppressing people because they have some money because they have some

[21:07]airplanes and they have some sophisticated bombs and they have a a

[21:10]a Congress that is blind and the world powers that don't care

[21:13]about Justice they think that they got their escape no of course

[21:22]not Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala Allah subhah wa taala is delaying them till

[21:29]that day and that is the day of Justice another benefit of

[21:36]faith is that the one who what's the worst thing that could

[21:42]happen to a Believer what's the worst thing that could happen to

[21:46]a person in this Dunya you get killed a m sees death

[21:53]the same as a kafer sees death no there's a very big

[21:58]difference a m knows they're going back to Allah subhana tala a

[22:03]m has invested their whole life for that day the day everything

[22:07]I've done in this life is for that day that I meet

[22:12]Allah subhana tala my whole work everything is I'm doing everything for

[22:19]that day that's the most important day in my life I've worked

[22:23]for that day the kafer has not done anything for that day

[22:25]it's just like someone who goes to a school you you see

[22:29]two kids in a school one kid was studying one kid was

[22:34]very careful one kid was paying attention the day of graduation that

[22:37]kid is very happy that kid is waiting for that day I

[22:43]want to graduate I want to leave whereas the kid that was

[22:45]not paying attention they're dreading that day no no no I don't

[22:48]want that day to come so the worst thing in this dun

[22:54]that could happen for a Believer it's a day ofid it's a

[22:59]Day of Victory do not consider those who were slain in the

[23:11]way of Allah as dead they are alive with Allah subhana tala

[23:15]their souls are alive they're in a much better State than you

[23:19]and I are so when you have faith in Allah subhana wa

[23:23]tala you anticipate this is and then you say the Imam says

[23:48]tala and no one will be able to understand that except those

[23:51]who have a healthy relationship with God those who have worked for

[23:55]that day that day is a day of for them this is

[25:46]is a good guy so they come and they tell you they

[25:53]come they tell you Donald Trump kamla Harris who are these people

[25:57]are these people that I take my morality from them I take

[26:02]my AK from them look at every day every few months we

[26:04]hear of the trash and the stench that comes out of Hollywood

[26:11]and the the politicians they all are corrupt they have no morality

[26:14]they have no but unfortunately you still have people taking them as

[26:19]Role Models unfortunately you still have people saying these people are our

[26:25]role models Faith gives me real Role Models yes Isa Jesus is

[26:30]a role model m is a role model is a role model

[26:39]you have the best role model the they are our role models

[26:46]so Faith gives me people to look at as a lady you

[26:51]could look at say Zab you could look at f as a

[26:55]young man you have people to look at as a older person

[26:59]you have people to look at and be inspired by and of

[27:04]course the greatest role model for all of us is was his

[27:09]life easy did Allah go through very easy times no of course

[27:16]not Allah every day in his life was a test every day

[27:18]was a very difficult test some days were very difficult for the

[27:28]10th year after the was so difficult for the holy prophet that

[27:36]it was known as the year of Sorrow because in that very

[27:40]year lost his protector Abu Talib his uncle when Abu Talib died

[27:47]qur they came and they began to gang up on the prophet

[27:49]because now his protector is not there anymore now they felt empowered

[27:54]now they felt that who's going to defend him anymore they came

[27:58]and they started harassing and abusing his protector was gone and in

[28:03]that very same year Khadijah his wife and someone who he loved

[28:12]so much and the mother of his children now Allah has children

[28:15]that are orphans they've lost their mother and he has to deliver

[28:17]he has to deliver the message and he's being assaulted and he's

[28:23]being attacked became such a difficult year for was referred to as

[28:28]the year of Sorrow he went to he goes to to see

[28:38]that maybe in they're going to listen to him maybe they're going

[28:42]to show him some respect he goes to and they begin to

[28:46]throw rocks and trash at him Allah has nowhere to go he

[28:54]goes and he seeks shelter in a farm he sits under a

[28:57]tree to protect himself from the rocks and from the attacks that

[29:04]are being that that are being thrown at him he goes and

[29:07]he sits under that tree and he begins to recite this Dua

[29:12]he begins to recite Allah oh Allah I don't tell my problems

[29:25]to anyone other than you and I don't have any strength and

[29:38]my weakness and look how people are treating me you are the

[29:47]most compassionate you are the Lord of even those who are so

[29:55]weak that no one no one looks at them no one cares

[29:59]for them and you are my Lord You Are My caretaker who

[30:05]are you going to leave me with you are my Lord who's

[30:09]going to take care of me who should take care of me

[30:19]someone who's far a stranger should take care of me or someone

[30:21]who's an enemy I come to you oh Allah if you not

[30:29]upset and angry with me then I don't mind I will do

[30:33]whatever it takes he does Dua in that difficult time does Dua

[30:53]during that year the 10th after the something very there is a

[31:02]huge gift that came to Al they say in the 10th year

[31:09]after the not the 10th after the the 10th after the the

[31:12]the 10th year after his prophethood so this is in mecah there

[31:17]was a great event in the life of the prophet and that

[31:23]was the is and the the prophets he went to the heavens

[31:25]he went to Jerusalem the is and he went to the the

[31:37]with a gift to all the people what gift was that no

[32:05]upon everyone Salah prayer became waj upon everyone so the first day

[32:10]of Islam Salah was not W only was praying and some people

[32:13]with him after the 10th year the ver the verses and the

[32:18]Order of Salah became mandatory upon everyone what does this teach us

[32:25]this teach us that when the prophet is broken when the prophet

[32:28]loses everything Allah tells him now you and the Muslims have to

[32:31]pray because when you pray what's going to happen you're going to

[32:38]become stronger When you pray you're going to have the IM and

[32:41]the strength to endure and this is what happens and this is

[32:47]why Allah subhana tala says so these are the lessons of Iman

[33:01]and faith in Allah subhana wa tala when you have that Faith

[33:06]then you're not going to break and this is why we have

[33:08]to ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to continue increasing our faith increasing

[33:13]our Iman in Allah subhanahu wa taala and during days like this

[33:23]during nights like this and days like this this is the time

[33:26]that we pray for the m that we pray for the oppressed

[33:32]that we pray for those who are in need and we raise

[33:34]our hands in Dua and we ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to

[33:39]shower His blessings and his mercy upon all of the sh of

[33:44]Islam and to give healing and recovery to all of those who

[33:52]are injured and to bring back to their homes and to give

[33:55]normaly back to the lives of all of those who have been

[34:01]displaced and to give us the strength to continue having the the

[34:05]power and the ability to speak truth to power in a time

[34:10]where many people are afraid to speak the word of the truth

[34:12]we ask Allah subhana wa tala to give us the strength and

[34:18]the courage to continue and defending the oppressed because this is what

[34:23]our religion and what our IM teaches us okay
