[0:28]ald for dear brothers and sisters today or this occasion coincides with

[1:40]the day of IM and also the same week or couple of

[1:50]days as well coincide with the of the ninth IM of the

[2:08]imams of so let us take a look at some of the

[2:20]lessons given to us by these two Noble imams a lesson from

[2:28]IM in kindness in controlling one's anger and forgiveness and forgiving people

[2:45]and forbearance this is what we can learn from at the same

[2:50]time we learn about generosity from IM and of course course these

[3:01]are the imams that Allah subhana wa ta'ala has given us out

[3:08]of his blessing to us as role models and brothers and sisters

[3:13]it is up to us to see how much do we follow

[3:18]these imams how much do we hang on to these imams how

[3:21]much do we invest time in following and obeying and commemorating and

[3:28]remembering these imams Alam it's a great day it's a great time

[3:34]the im's the birth of the IM their their MMS how many

[3:41]of us invest the time to come and learn about them how

[3:46]many of us invest the time to come and hold on to

[3:48]their and to hold on to we read to IM what you

[4:09]know Allah also tells us he refers to this literally means a

[7:14]this until he died he died this man later on in the

[7:22]dream was seen and this man who was standing next to him

[7:29]he was asking him he was seen in the dream in the

[7:32]dream they saw him and this man was standing next to him

[7:37]he was asking him yeah why were you taking Contracting your legs

[7:40]every time I extend them you contract them I extend them you

[7:45]contract why he said this man who was with me he used

[7:52]to give me a lot of trouble at that moment because I

[7:55]saw I saw imass and Imus standing there at my feet they

[10:23]for this when you see a shrine in pictures with two domes

[10:25]you know this is the shrine of IM and IM and brothers

[10:36]and sisters these great symbols of kindness of generosity in this Hadith

[10:45]of IM explain to us what is the significance of the kindness

[10:52]and generosity IM says means the generous one the generous one who

[11:05]has good manners he is under the protection of Allah subhana we

[11:17]will not leave him until he makes him enter J this individual

[11:24]who is generous who provides who helps whenever people need donations even

[11:31]if it's a little amount he can help with he goes and

[11:34]he helps with you know brothers and sisters we are the followers

[11:38]of we are the followers of this school of thought the school

[11:42]of generosity the school of giving used to give even to people

[11:50]who insulted them even to people who were their enemies they gave

[11:52]them a man who came to IM insulting him in the Masjid

[11:57]of and the companions of IM wanted to kill him he said

[12:02]no don't kill him leave him IM then went and visited him

[12:05]visited this man in his farm and he gave him money he

[12:11]said here take this when this man saw the generosity of the

[12:14]IM the kindness of he said Allah knows whom he chooses to

[12:24]carry his message and they saw him they saw the companions this

[12:30]man coming to IM praising him in the Masjid they told him

[12:34]what happened what changed you all of the sudden he said this

[12:39]man has such great morale such great such great ethics such great

[12:43]manners such a great character that I could not stop myself but

[12:47]from being humbled before him and to believe in him Imam then

[12:56]turned to his companions and said see which was better what you

[13:00]wanted to do to him killing him or with great little bit

[13:06]of and manners he now became one of our supporters what's better

[13:11]what's better so brothers and sisters this is very important we have

[13:16]to learn from this Imam the concept of being kind to people

[13:19]what brought a lot of people to Islam is the the manners

[13:25]when you see somebody visiting this place or or a new place

[13:31]a center an Islamic Center some guest comes to an Islamic Center

[13:34]if you see this individual and you don't recognize him immediately go

[13:39]speak to him kindly be gentle to him or her smile at

[13:45]them stay with them don't let them go don't leave them stay

[13:48]with them say how can we help you do you need anything

[13:52]when it's time for example for chai or Ser don't just have

[13:58]the chai and just leave this guy no give him also a

[14:00]little bit or give her a little bit make him or her

[14:05]feel that they are welcomed these are the of the manners when

[14:09]including the holy prophet sallu alai when they used to see somebody

[14:15]a stranger they would always talk to him communicate with him discuss

[14:19]with him don't just leave him somebody approaches you for example sometimes

[14:25]the youth they come and they ask you questions don't immediately start

[14:30]shouting at them no what you're doing is Haram what you're doing

[14:35]is wrong this is not right you can win them with the

[14:38]holy prophet s says to you cannot Encompass all people with your

[14:49]wealth and money but you can Encompass them with your you can

[14:55]win people with your manners with your manners with your with your

[14:59]kindness and that's why we have to train ourselves to follow the

[15:07]paths of the path of kindness the path of generosity the the

[15:10]poet an Arabic poet says he says if Allah blesses you with

[15:29]good manners then indeed he has blessed you with something great Allah's

[15:34]blessings can be divided into categories according to the poet you know

[15:41]he says some people are blessed with money and some people are

[15:46]blessed with knowledge and others are blessed with the gr good manners

[15:52]the greatest manners that's why I remind myself brothers and sisters and

[15:57]remind you as well to constantly read Dua it teaches us about

[16:03]great manners so if this is the school of shouldn't we be

[16:10]following the school of with greatness with kindness you know recently I

[16:15]was reading in the news recently they said there is a homeless

[16:18]man a homeless man he went to a lady he found a

[16:26]lady who used to be a banker she used to work in

[16:27]a bank and this lady lost her job and because of losing

[16:32]her job she's also a single mother she lost her house and

[16:36]then she went and lived in a hotel until her money ran

[16:39]out so they told her that if you don't have a place

[16:43]to support your child then we have to take the son away

[16:45]from you the child away from you now this lady she was

[16:49]kind to a homeless man she was kind to him when she

[16:53]had money she used to give him money all the time donate

[16:55]to him you know this is recently in the news this homeless

[17:00]man when he learned about this lady losing her job and then

[17:03]losing her house and she's about to lose her her child as

[17:05]well he started going and donating money to her he started paying

[17:12]for the bills of her accommodation her hotel bills and it is

[17:15]said he paid about the equivalent of $9,000 $9,000 you know he

[17:23]says whatever you know he says I'm homeless people give me money

[17:26]whatever money they give me whatever I collect at the end of

[17:30]the day I take a little bit for my food and a

[17:31]little bit for the bus Fair he says the rest I keep

[17:35]on collecting and I donate it to this lady I go pay

[17:40]off her bills know because he says she was kind to me

[17:42]when she had money now I'm it's fine for me to return

[17:45]the if this is an individual who is not from the school

[17:48]of by God when I read this I felt embarrassed of myself

[17:54]that I'm a follower of B I'm a follower of bate I'm

[17:56]a follower of the school the School of giving the school of

[18:01]kindness the school of generosity I'm a follower I have an IM

[18:04]by the name of IM ja the IM of generosity and yet

[18:11]I don't even do a fraction this man used to give everything

[18:15]he had you know almost everything he had whatever he had extra

[18:18]he gave it and some of us even the money money we

[18:23]don't want to pay it off we see children who are orphans

[18:27]dying in some parts of the world and we don't support them

[18:30]we see families striving with difficulties in different parts of the world

[18:35]and we say it's only me it's only me let me only

[18:40]concern be concerned about myself yes be concerned about yourself and your

[18:43]family that's important it's good at the same time help others IM

[18:47]says IM in thisi says that the generous person and the person

[18:53]who has good manners a generous and has good manners this individual

[18:59]of course of course when comined when we say good manners huh

[19:01]when we say good manners we don't only mean that he is

[19:06]good mannered because good manners the good manners is an umbrella if

[19:09]you read du you see the first sentence in the Dua is

[19:23]he says oh Allah bless Muhammad and his family and and make

[19:31]my IM reach the state of perfection my completion and make my

[19:36]my certainty become the best of the certainties and so on so

[19:41]forth so he starts by talking about the inside because the a

[19:47]person's generosity a person's kindness should stem from the inside it's like

[19:52]a fountain from the heart the heart is kind the heart is

[19:54]generous the heart is pure and then this pure Purity comes out

[20:00]and spells onto the hands and onto the eyes and into the

[20:02]ears and into the tongue and so on so forth so that

[20:07]a person's should come from the inside from the inside from the

[20:12]inside should be genuine and that's why the Imam says a person

[20:14]who's generous and and has good manners this individual is under the

[20:18]protection of Allah is under the guidance of Allah until he enters

[20:26]J until he enters Jen and then he says and Allah has

[20:28]not sent a prophet but he was generous all prophets are generous

[20:34]all of them they're all generous they're all giving they all donate

[20:39]and they help others and then he says and my father continuously

[20:43]used to admonish me and advise me of generosity and having good

[20:52]manners and as I mention good manners not only just the until

[20:56]he left this D so IM used to admonish IM continuously about

[21:02]generosity about kindness it is said at the time of three individuals

[21:10]those three individuals they they did you know a they did a

[21:20]vow by the gods that they used to worship was one of

[21:22]the Gods and they were nonbelievers they vowed they said we swear

[21:25]by the and theza that we will go and kill them the

[21:30]prophet they will go and kill him so Allah subh T revealed

[21:35]to the holy prophet their plot andan and Allah and the holy

[21:39]prophet s told he said these three individuals have plotted to kill

[21:47]me so go and get them runs and he is like the

[21:54]lion indeed he rushes at those three individuals without hesitation without fear

[21:59]fear never entered into the heart of except the fear of Allah

[22:06]subhah waala except the fear of Allah so he would go he

[22:08]ran at those three individuals he faced them they fought one of

[22:14]them got killed by and he managed to take the other two

[22:17]as prisoners and he brought them before the holy prophet sallallah alai

[22:22]the holy prophet told them you two plotted to kill me they

[22:28]said yes we did then the prophet s told one of them

[22:33]he says he said say the Shah he said never I will

[22:43]never do so in fact I it is easier for me to

[22:48]move a mountain than to say the Shah look at the arrogance

[22:51]of some individuals this man is an enemy an enemy he what

[22:58]he came to comat he came to kill and then he still

[23:02]says that never even though the you know it's interesting how sometimes

[23:06]people just choose to close their eyes from the h the truth

[23:11]it's right there who can deny the existence of Allah subhana how

[23:15]could this whole universe come into existence nonetheless you know we've discussed

[23:19]about this many times in the past and this is not the

[23:21]time for it nonetheless this individual denied so the prophet toldi finish

[23:28]him so he got killed then the second man again the prophet

[23:33]Sall said to him say the sh it said never kill me

[23:39]like you killed my my colleague my friend there my companion so

[23:43]the prophet said to kill him then came to the holy prophet

[23:48]he said y Allah subhana waala sends you hisam and says do

[23:50]not kill this man because he is generous and he has good

[23:55]manners so do not kill him the prophet sallallahu alaihi then turned

[23:59]to and he said Ali do not kill him Allah subhana waala

[24:05]has just informed me that this man is generous and he is

[24:08]kind in his people and among his tribe the man then looked

[24:15]up and he said your lord your God told you this he

[24:21]said yes he said indeed the prophet then asked him what do

[24:24]you do how come how come you're kind how come Allah sees

[24:27]you as generous what do you do he says any person in

[24:33]My Tribe who needs help financially I help him and I don't

[24:36]even ask him to give the money back I give them money

[24:39]I help them out and he says whenever I come to fight

[24:44]and combat he says I'm never angry or for example frowning at

[24:47]people I'm always in in peace and and and smiling even when

[24:52]I'm combating against my enemies so you know it's interesting it is

[24:57]always recommended for Muslims to be smiling you know how sometimes you

[25:04]walk here on the streets and you see people who don't even

[25:06]know you they smile at you and say hi for example when

[25:09]they feel they look you in the eye they smile at you

[25:10]and say hi well unfortunately if you go to the Muslim countries

[25:14]you know unfortunately and not all of them but you know say

[25:17]majority of them they look at you and if if you if

[25:20]they see you staring them in the eye they'll come somebody and

[25:22]mallah will punch you in the face as well masallah you know

[25:24]that's you know why you're looking at me what's there a problem

[25:28]do you have a problem you this is unfortunately this is what's

[25:31]happening but this is not the of Islam the prophet Sall Al

[25:36]tells us in the the M his his his troubles his grief

[25:43]is in his heart but his smile is in his face when

[25:49]you look at a m no matter how many difficulties he's experiencing

[25:54]how many calamities he's going through no matter matter how much he

[25:58]reflects and he thinks about Allah subhah wa taala yet when he

[26:04]looks at you he'll smile he'll always feel make you feel welcome

[26:07]he'll always feel make you feel warm and he keeps everything in

[26:13]his heart the pain he keeps it in his heart this is

[26:14]a true this is a and that's why we have another from

[26:19]the that says that being kind to people winning people is half

[26:30]of the Mind what does half of the mind mean it means

[26:36]if you want to see somebody who is wise somebody who's smart

[26:39]someone who has a mind is intelligent this individual tries to draw

[26:44]people close to him he doesn't try to become you know like

[26:47]repelling people against him you know he tries to bring them attract

[26:54]them bring them closer to him so this is the that we

[26:57]learn from brothers and sisters it is time for us that Allah

[27:05]has blessed us with the school of he's blessed us with a

[27:13]treasure with an IM like IM and with IM two great IMS

[27:21]who are symbols of kindness IM is in the prison in the

[27:30]prison and some say that he spent seven years some say he

[27:32]spent 15 years some say he spent 17 years in the prison

[27:35]no matter how many years he spent in the prison one of

[27:41]the people says I heard him saying in the prison oh my

[27:46]Lord constantly I used to ask you and pray to you that

[27:48]Ya Allah you give me the privacy and the time so that

[27:53]I can worship you in privacy and now you blessed me with

[27:56]this Ya Allah thank you alhamdulillah this is the greatness of this

[28:00]IM this is sa his patience and then he was kind with

[28:08]every individual who came his way he was kind even people who

[28:10]used to insult him he's kind to them let us learn from

[28:15]these to follow their path to follow the straight path to follow

[28:19]their generosity to follow their kindness so that inshallah we pray to

[28:24]Allah subhana wa ta'ala to help us make make us among their

[28:30]inshallah in this and in the and IM and are known as

[28:40]mean the Gate of we pray to Allah subhana waala to fulfill

[28:47]our by the blessing and the Barat of for Allah Allah Allah

[29:56]Allah Allah this for Muhammad
