[0:00][Music] [Music] ald muhamad m [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] brothers and [Music]
[1:11]sisters first of all before I begin I would like to congratulate
[1:18]everyone on this auspicious occasion the beginning of the holiest month out
[1:24]of the year that is the month of Ramadan the month of
[1:31]worship worship the month of Allah subhanahu wa taala and the month
[1:37]that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given us the greatest opportunity to
[1:41]seek nearness to him so I congratulate all of you and I
[1:47]ask Allah subhanahu waala to give us all the strength the to
[1:52]that we are able to fast during these blessed 293 days accumulates
[1:58]a few good deeds and I I ask Allah subhana tala to
[2:04]accept our and to forgive us of all our sins if we
[2:10]were to analyze the history of the successful human beings that walked
[2:19]on this earth and the unsuccessful human beings or in other words
[2:27]the failures and if we were to compare between these two the
[2:31]successful and the unsuccessful we would find many interesting and noticeable differences
[2:42]between them but amongst the major differences between those that were successful
[2:47]in this world and those that weren't successful that failed now whether
[2:54]it may be economic success financial success educational success political success social
[3:02]success any form of success you find that a major difference between
[3:12]between the successful and the unsuccessful is that the history of the
[3:15]successful human beings is a history of seized opportunities while the history
[3:22]of those that failed is a history of wasted opportunities and you
[3:33]find this evidence across everyone you see in society there are those
[3:39]that do not waste opportunities there are those that seize every opportunity
[3:44]that they can find they never delay they never procrastinate you may
[3:49]find him he's a businessman he never wastes any opportunity to buy
[3:53]a piece of L to strike a deal to make profit from
[3:58]here or there and then you'll find some other person no who's
[4:01]much more lazy you'll find some person who wastes time who delays
[4:05]who for example Waits a week until he makes his decision and
[4:12]then it's too late he wasted that opportunity and that's why he's
[4:16]a failure or for example you find some people when they pursue
[4:19]a career and they study in the University some they know exactly
[4:25]what they want to do from the beginning they have a they
[4:27]have a strategy they have a plot they have a plan they
[4:32]know exactly I'm going to study two years this four years this
[4:35]get my masters get my PhD and then work there and they
[4:40]don't hesitate they don't waste time and going after their goal while
[4:43]we find other people they don't know what they want to do
[4:48]two years they study one field and then they change their uh
[4:50]their their field and then they change again and then they go
[4:52]back to what they wanted to study in the in the first
[4:56]place you see them 15 years they're studying they're nowhere I personally
[5:00]know a friend who studied probably 15 years University he had like
[5:06]four Masters and nothing why because he had no strategy because he
[5:13]had no plan he don't know what he he didn't know what's
[5:15]he doing so you find those people that success they get to
[5:21]the point they don't waste any opportunity they know what they're doing
[5:24]they have a plan and they seize every opportunity in order to
[5:27]do that and you like like I said every human being can
[5:32]find this true in his life how many people here sitting here
[5:35]can say I wish I would have done that I wish I
[5:40]would have done this I wish I would have not wasted that
[5:44]opportunity I wish I would have studied this instead of my fi
[5:47]I wish I would have made that transaction we delayed we procrastinated
[5:51]and we were left with nothing but remorse and guilt and regret
[5:55]at the end of the day so this is what differentiates between
[6:01]the successful and those that are not successful seizing the opportunities and
[6:07]that's why it is very important brothers and sisters that we take
[6:12]advantage of every opportunity that we have in every field but especially
[6:18]with our relationship with Allah subhanahu wa taala we should be extra
[6:22]cautious we should be extra careful and not wasting any opportunity that
[6:29]the of says if anyone sees that Allah subhah waala has given
[6:47]him an opening has given him an opportunity has given him time
[6:53]to do something good then that person should not hesitate that person
[6:58]should not waste a single minute because sooner or later this opportunity
[7:01]will go away and like I said I'll be regretful I delay
[7:06]and delay until it's gone so it's especially important that I seize
[7:11]these opportunities Allah subhana wa taala has given me with my relationship
[7:15]with Allah subhanahu wa taala and I don't delay and that's why
[7:17]you find you ask many people many brother and sister especially the
[7:20]young ones sister why don't you are hijab brother sister when will
[7:26]you start praying brother sister when will you go to Haj when
[7:29]will you repent to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala later 5 years 10
[7:35]years 20 years 30 years why procrastinates Allah has G if Allah
[7:39]subh has given me the opportunity to do something good do it
[7:44]right away don't waste the single second and this is the attitude
[7:51]that Islam teaches us brothers and sisters find some people in their
[7:55]lives they're so relaxed oh I'm so young I have a long
[7:57]life ahead of me what's the rush they feel absolutely no rush
[8:01]who cares in 20 years I'll go to Haj no when I'm
[8:06]50 years old I'll wear the hijab why now there's no rush
[8:08]but when you find when you come to Islam you find a
[8:12]completely different mentality Islam is always rushing us do it now don't
[8:16]do it later don't waste don't procrastinate don't delay Allah subhanahu waala
[8:21]says in the Holy Quran he says run rush towards the mercy
[8:29]of Allah subhah waala and towards don't waste your time you can't
[8:38]go slowly and and you know take taking your time Allah subhana
[8:49]tells us you have to rush and another Hadith we read that
[8:52]the Hadith the IM says if a person's yesterday was equal to
[9:02]today then that person has lost before that the Imam he says
[9:11]if yesterday was better than today then I'm miserable if yesterday was
[9:16]better than today then that's miserable I'm going completely the wrong way
[9:21]but if yesterday was equal than today I still have lost because
[9:24]I gain nothing as a Muslim I have to always progress yesterday
[9:28]today is better than yesterday tomorrow is better than today that's the
[9:32]only way I will progress or else we'll never progress we'll always
[9:37]stay at the same level and another Hadith the IM says he
[9:41]speaks about the qualities of a he says a quality of a
[9:51]m is not a m is not that person who's always relaxed
[9:56]and you find him always has nothing to do you see some
[9:58]people they're always bored they always don't know what to do they
[10:01]always want to kill time this is not a quality of a
[10:04]m a m is a person who never has time he works
[10:10]so hard that he brings pressure upon himself he overwhelms and burdens
[10:15]himself because of how much he tries to please Allah subhah wa
[10:21]tala he has no time to lose and there are some people
[10:23]brothers and sisters that you find especially some you find that's true
[10:27]their entire lives you find they don't have a single moment to
[10:33]sit and relax they're always late they're always rushing they're always overwhelmed
[10:38]this is a quality of a m not someone that just relaxes
[10:41]it's not Haram to relax but if I'm a true M and
[10:46]I I'm a wise M and I know that I have a
[10:49]goal in this short life I will understand I have no time
[10:54]to waste and thus I must always be on alert and I
[10:57]must always be working diligently now you might ask what's the rush
[11:05]why why shouldn't I you know take everything easy and wait and
[11:08]wait and procrastinate first of all brothers and sisters before I mention
[11:13]the reasons we have to understand that the most precious gift that
[11:19]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave us is what if I were to
[11:24]ask you what's the most precious gift Allah subhana wa ta'ala gave
[11:27]you yes you want to answer brother the brother is saying yes
[11:36]this is very precious but however there is something brothers and sisters
[11:45]that is more precious then will in what sense will obviously is
[11:51]the greatest thing but there's something more precious then will IIT for
[11:55]me as a m why because it's through that thing that I'm
[12:02]able to attain without this I can never have without this I
[12:05]can never please Allah without this I can never achieve Jen what
[12:10]is that thing time time that Allah subhana tala gave us brothers
[12:16]and sisters is the most precious thing Allah if Allah doesn't give
[12:19]you any time how can you be a follow ofit so all
[12:24]the precious gifts like like pleasing Allah subhana wa tala like going
[12:28]to heaven this is all d through time if Allah doesn't give
[12:33]us time in this we can't do anything so time is the
[12:36]most precious gift and that's why in one Hadith it's narrated that
[12:39]he tells AB His companion he tells him the prophet tells Abu
[12:52]you have to be more greedy about your time about your life
[12:56]than you are with your money some people they're very greedy with
[13:01]with their money $1 is wasted it's the biggest deal if money
[13:05]is wasted if he doesn't make a profit it's the biggest deal
[13:08]some people brothers and sisters they have heart attacks they die over
[13:12]money you're supposed to use money to what for your time to
[13:19]make your time valuable not lose your time because of money I
[13:25]remember a few maybe two three years ago I was in one
[13:27]of the Muslim countries and I saw they had put a a
[13:32]picture of a deceased person and he wasn't very old he was
[13:34]about 50 years old and he was a businessman and I asked
[13:39]some people in the neighborhood why this person died and they told
[13:46]me because this person he was a businessman and something the economy
[13:50]went bad he began losing losing losing until he could no longer
[13:53]barar it he had a heart attack because of all the stress
[13:56]all the anger the frustration and he died over what over his
[14:04]will the holy prophet s he says be more greedy about your
[14:09]time don't waste your time usually usually you don't find people wasting
[14:13]their money no they are very careful with every dollar that they
[14:16]spend is it worth it is it not worth it but with
[14:21]their time they never think is this hour worth it to do
[14:23]this or not I want to sit and watch a 2hour movie
[14:25]is it worth my time or not why why don't they care
[14:31]because they don't understand the value of time if you don't understand
[14:35]the value of something obviously you will not respect it you'll not
[14:39]value it if I bring you a diamond you think it's a
[14:43]it's a rock it's just a nice rock you're not going to
[14:45]Value it you know probably just put it in your closet that's
[14:49]it if we don't understand the value of something we will not
[14:53]value we not we won't appreciate it we won't take care of
[14:58]it we won't be careful with it time brothers and sisters is
[15:02]something that most human beings are not aware of its precious being
[15:05]they're not aware of its precious state of its value and its
[15:09]importance so why we have to always hurry and make sure we
[15:14]don't waste time number one brothers and sisters is because time is
[15:19]indispensable it's Irreplaceable you cannot replace time brothers and sisters let's say
[15:27]I am 25 years old and I spend this entire or my
[15:29]25th year I waste it Wast it after my desires when I
[15:34]turn 26 let's say I regret it is there any way I
[15:38]could go back in time and change what happened in my 25th
[15:43]year never it's impossible it never happened for anyone through from the
[15:49]beginning of Adam till this day even prophets Allah subhanahu wa taala
[15:55]didn't give them the chance to go back in time no one
[15:57]has the chance to go back in time one once your 25th
[16:00]year is gone it's gone once my 30th year it's gone it's
[16:03]gone my 40th it can never be replaced so that's why I
[16:09]am dealing with a very hazardous delicate material here brothers and sisters
[16:15]substance time be careful when this minute goes It goes it's never
[16:20]going to go back if my youth goes I waste it it's
[16:25]not going to come back even if I regret it even if
[16:30]my mentality changes even if if my My Views change that's it
[16:32]it's gone it's gone there's no way it's going to come back
[16:35]there there's a very famous line of poetry in Arab in Arabic
[16:39]that most of you that know Arabic have have memorized that says
[16:49]an author a a poet he he writes a poem and he
[16:54]says I wish and the word later in the Arabic language is
[16:59]used for wishing something that's impossible something that will not happen and
[17:06]it's called is wishing something that's impossible I wish for example that
[17:11]I could you know for example reach the moon with my hands
[17:15]from the from Earth or I wish I could go back in
[17:20]time or I wish or I wish things that are not possible
[17:24]so time brothers and sisters once it goes that's it it's never
[17:27]going to come back so that's why we have have to be
[17:31]very careful and think before I spend an hour or two on
[17:33]this or that is it worth it or is it not worth
[17:37]it that's number one number two why we have to be extra
[17:39]careful with this time that Allah has given us in this world
[17:45]is because these hours and nights and days and years that Allah
[17:48]has given us in this dun are what will dictate my eternal
[17:55]future my eternal future and the Hereafter is decided based on on
[18:00]what based on how I spend my time here so we have
[18:04]to be very careful brothers and sisters it's only 70 years but
[18:08]it will decide your Eternal fate 70 years if you live 70
[18:14]years this will decide billions upon billions upon trillions upon trillions of
[18:19]years it's only 70 years but look at how important it is
[18:22]everything we do in this D it will echo in The Eternity
[18:27]it will we will see it it will decide our future for
[18:32]forever forever so that's why I have to be careful the hour
[18:35]I spend here I have to make sure that it's worthy I
[18:41]have to make sure that I will benefit from it in this
[18:43]Dunya some people they spend 8 hours a day working for what
[18:48]for a paycheck that finishes in 5 days in one day in
[18:51]one month the time that we spend for our is eternal never
[18:56]goes away brothers and sisters we have to be careful so sometimes
[19:00]a small mistake I waste 5 minutes of my time in this
[19:05]Dunya this will have an eternal effect because if I could have
[19:07]done a good deed that I would have benefited from in those
[19:13]5 minutes for forever but I wasted it smallest smallest mistake could
[19:17]have the largest effect because it's Eternal and that's why if you
[19:23]take a piece of paper and you draw two parallel lines as
[19:29]you know those lines will they ever cross will they ever get
[19:33]closer to each other never if they're perfectly parallel like this they'll
[19:37]never meet but what if you skew or you move the direction
[19:44]of one of the lines for example not a centimeter you move
[19:54]it 0 500 zeros and then put a one M millim if
[19:58]you move it that much now it will look parallel but only
[20:06]for a while after 1 km 10 km 10,000 km obviously the
[20:10]Gap is going to widen so can you imagine after millions of
[20:16]years how big that Gap is you think it's a small mistake
[20:18]but over time you see that the result that the negative consequences
[20:23]and ramifications are so great so that's why I have to be
[20:30]extra careful and that's why there is a question that's posed there
[20:34]is a topic that's always debated and that's why does Allah subhanahu
[20:40]wa taala punish some people eternally for a sin that they did
[20:44]that was limited he committed a sin that took 5 minutes long
[20:47]why does Allah put him in hell for forever some people Allah
[20:53]speaks about not in the Holy Quran they will dwell in the
[20:55]fires of hell for forever for example if I purposely kill a
[21:01]murder him Allah says the Jaz the consequence of that the punishment
[21:04]is Allah will put me in the fires of hell for forever
[21:08]unless I Repent obviously if I don't repent now why I did
[21:13]a limited act a limited sin why is the consequence why is
[21:17]the punishment unlimited now there's many answers I don't want to get
[21:22]into that but one answer that the they pose is they say
[21:24]yes what you did that sin was limited but the negative effects
[21:30]of that are unlimited let's say I kill someone did I not
[21:33]deprive that person of children let's say he wasn't married did I
[21:36]not deprive him of grandchildren he could have had grandchildren from now
[21:40]till 20,000 years his grandchildren every deed if he was a good
[21:47]person and he raised good kids all the good deeds of his
[21:49]kids he will benefit from after he dies of his grandchildren and
[21:54]so on and so forth so you find it's a limited sin
[21:56]and action but it can have unlimited consequences and that's why the
[22:00]punishment will be unlimited that person was 20 years old I killed
[22:05]him he could have lived 70 those 50 years he could have
[22:07]done so many good deeds and those good deeds he would have
[22:12]benefited For Eternity for forever so I deprived him of Eternal deeds
[22:16]and that's why the punishment will be Eternal so this is number
[22:20]two this is why we have to be extra careful these hours
[22:24]these days and nights that we live in this D brothers and
[22:27]sisters they're very important they are what will decide how my life
[22:34]will be and the Hereafter number three why it's very important is
[22:38]because we don't know when it's going to end brothers and sisters
[22:41]who knows when life will end who knows when death will come
[22:45]so when I haven't been guaranteed that I will live 70 80
[22:52]years and I can die any minute any second obviously it becomes
[22:56]more important for me to take a advantage of every opportunity yesterday
[23:02]I was when I was in the plane there was a young
[23:07]there was a young man a Muslim man he was sitting next
[23:10]to me so when they brought the drinks he told the flight
[23:17]attendant I want some alcohol he took the alcohol before he uh
[23:22]wanted to drink I said let me give a try I'll give
[23:26]him some advice even though I was pretty sure he not going
[23:30]to listen he was he wasn't a practicing Muslim but I said
[23:33]let me give it a try so oh so he began he
[23:40]told me you don't you don't drink I I he said I
[23:42]guess you don't drink I told him no I don't drink told
[23:46]them my religion and your religion both our religion says that we're
[23:51]not allowed to drink so he said yeah you know what I
[23:55]don't believe everything you know in religion I told him do you
[23:58]believe in the Quran he says yeah the Quran I believe I
[24:02]guess I believe in it I told him do you not know
[24:03]that the Quran says it's Haram to drink he says yeah but
[24:08]he didn't want to say I don't care that's very rude he
[24:13]was trying to say it in a more proper manner that I
[24:15]don't care about Allah I don't care about whatever so I told
[24:20]him look if I tell if you were told that you're going
[24:25]to die in a few hours will you still drink that alcohol
[24:29]he started thinking for a couple of seconds he told me I
[24:36]don't think so he told him why you don't believe he says
[24:39]because if I'm going to die in a few hours it's not
[24:43]worth wasting my last couple hours drinking alcohol when I know death
[24:47]is close I don't want to spend my last hours drinking alcohol
[24:52]I told them what will you do so that probably I'll turn
[24:55]to Allah subhana and repent Subhan Allah you see brothers and sisters
[24:59]I told him has Allah given you a guarantee that you won't
[25:04]die tomorrow or in a few hours I don't want to scare
[25:08]you I told him but this plane could easily fall brother you
[25:10]saw in the news this past year 5 10 planes and every
[25:15]time subh Allah I ride for the last year I ride the
[25:19]plane and there's turbulence right away I began begin to read the
[25:22]Shah it's as if my my final moments with all these you
[25:27]know planes that have been falling recently so I told him has
[25:31]Allah subhana given you a guarantee that you won't die tomorrow he
[25:34]started just looking at the alcohol he told me you know what
[25:40]this is the last alcohol I'll drink and after this I'll start
[25:43]listening to you I told him no no you won't listen when
[25:48]you say after the procrastination delay tomorrow Tomorrow Never Comes as they
[25:52]say if you want to do something do it now don't say
[25:53]this is the last time just one more shot just one more
[25:57]whatever do it now because after you drink this alcohol you're going
[26:01]to be at the same point you were before drinking it you're
[26:05]going to want one more and more and more and more this
[26:07]desire that I have is never Fed Up the only thing brothers
[26:12]and sisters that satisfies my desire and that puts me at ease
[26:16]and rest is what is the grave that's the only day they
[26:22]will write on My Grave rest in peace though before that before
[26:25]I'm placed in my grave I never rest I always chase after
[26:29]my desires the desire wants more and more and more it's like
[26:32]giving putting fuel you know on on the fire it's not going
[26:34]to solve the problem it's going to make the problem worse the
[26:38]only time the human being settles is when he's plays in his
[26:41]great so I can't say one more because if I say one
[26:45]more I'm going to say one more after that because it's still
[26:48]one more the word one more still applies so what's the difference
[26:54]between before and after there's no difference anyway so this life Allah
[26:58]has given us brothers and sisters it's not guaranteed I could go
[27:04]any I could leave this depart this Dunya any second so that's
[27:07]why I have to take advantage of every opportunity don't say tomorrow
[27:10]don't say next week don't say next month next month may never
[27:16]come or maybe it will come but you will not be able
[27:20]to do good deeds maybe you will not have the to you'll
[27:23]not have the opportunity anymore so that's why I have to take
[27:27]advantage of every opportunity this is number three the third reason why
[27:35]we have to be very very careful with time and we shouldn't
[27:38]waste any time and number four is because brothers and sisters we
[27:44]are very needy of Good Deeds we need our time every single
[27:48]second of it to build our brothers and sisters no one gives
[27:52]anything free in this in this dun you have to work for
[27:56]it in the we we can't expect to get anything free we
[28:01]also have to work for it so if I don't work for
[28:05]my I don't do good deeds how can I expect to go
[28:06]there and enjoy my I'll be a homeless I mean the least
[28:11]thing Allah you know will do to me he won't to take
[28:12]me to Hell Allah will just put me in in in rubbles
[28:17]in an empty field says okay live here a homeless man I
[28:21]tell him why he say you didn't do anything to you didn't
[28:23]build any Mansions you didn't build any houses you didn't do anything
[28:27]you spent your entire life building your your D you build your
[28:30]this is the least Allah can do is that what he gives
[28:35]you nothing he just leaves you as a homeless person on the
[28:37]day of judgment we are in need brothers and sisters of every
[28:41]good deed that we can accumulate we're needy we're poor people brothers
[28:46]and sisters Allah subhana says in the Holy Quran you need Allah
[28:52]subh you need his grace and mercy so do something to deserve
[28:55]it do a few good deeds and this D there's a story
[29:02]of one of our by the name one of our greatest that
[29:09]lived about maybe 200 years ago and the story of this Alam
[29:16]is narrated by his son he had a son and they lived
[29:20]in the city of a and every day she he would wake
[29:24]up in the middle of the night when everyone's sleeping and he
[29:27]would go to the Haram of IM the beautiful Shrine of IM
[29:33]Ali if anyone of you has had the honor to go and
[29:35]visit IM Ali it's an experience that's remarkable outstanding it cannot be
[29:40]described by words so he would go there every night and he
[29:45]would take his son his son was old he was probably in
[29:46]his late 20s and he would go and pray Sal there he
[29:53]would pray Sal and he would read Quran and basically just do
[29:58]good deeds so his son says that one day my father woke
[30:05]up he woke me up he says I was very tired I
[30:08]couldn't get up but he said out of respect for my father
[30:12]I didn't want him to go by himself he says I got
[30:18]up and I went with him as we were entering the the
[30:21]uh the gates of the the shrine of IM Ali he says
[30:26]we saw a beggar this this is probably 2:00 a.m.
[30:30]3:00 a.m.
[30:32]everyone's sleeping this beggar is sitting by the shrine by the door
[30:35]and he has his hands out and he's begging so he says
[30:41]we want we prayed we did some good deeds maybe an hour
[30:46]or 2 hours after that we came out we saw that poor
[30:48]person that poor man is still in that same condition His Hands
[30:55]Extended outward and he's begging people for some help he says my
[30:59]father he said such beautiful words to me this he told me
[31:04]Subhan Allah look at this beggar in the middle of the night
[31:07]he has deprived himself from the comfort of sleep he's not sleeping
[31:15]he's awake all night he's begging he's begging in a way which
[31:18]is obviously humiliating it's humiliating for a person to beg and how
[31:23]much is he going to make at the end of the day
[31:27]but anyway he's going to make thousands of of dollars millions of
[31:29]dollars no A din or half a din 10 20 30 bucks
[31:34]maximum he's going to make not nothing more he tells him Subhan
[31:39]Allah look at this beggar he deprives himself from sleep he humiliates
[31:43]himself he goes and begs for all these hours so that he
[31:45]can make 10 20 $30 while Allah subhanahu wa taala he tells
[31:51]us come pray Sal during the middle of the night to read
[31:53]some Quran and the reward that Allah has promised for this is
[32:00]unimaginable that the Holy Quran says about it says no soul knows
[32:16]the Quran says how great the reward that awaits them for their
[32:20]good deeds and according to theith this is about Sal it's unimaginable
[32:25]how much great the reward brothers and sisters is for praying Salat
[32:29]today that Allah cannot describe it because we won't comprehend it we
[32:35]won't understand it nobody knows we can't comprehend it so this he
[32:40]tells his son look at this beggar he leaves all that great
[32:45]reward which you're preserving your honor by doing that and it's guaranteed
[32:53]if you pray it it's guaranteed and it's unimaginable he leaves all
[32:58]of that and he comes in begs for 105 $20 which is
[33:01]not guaranteed some days he won't make it Subhan Allah where are
[33:06]our standards he leaves that great reward for such a small reward
[33:12]in this D brothers and sisters we are in need on the
[33:16]day of judgment we need every single Good Deed that we can
[33:21]accumulate and that's why we shouldn't waste any second of Our Lives
[33:25]brothers and sisters look at the lives of our so many great
[33:36]they did not waste a single second of their lives the only
[33:41]day they would stop teaching is the day they died there's no
[33:44]retirement for them why retire from what we have no time to
[33:47]waste they never retired the day they die is the day they're
[33:54]class finishes 90 100 years they live up to 100 years and
[33:58]they spend all those years teaching that's why thei says seek knowledge
[34:05]from the Cradle to the Grave there is no retirement in this
[34:07]D if I say I'm retired that means I have achieved my
[34:11]goal that means that's it I'm said there's no person that can
[34:14]say that that's it those good deeds are enough for me there's
[34:17]never enough Good Deeds for me I always have to accumulate more
[34:20]that's why you find they would not waste a single minute of
[34:25]their life you see some of them they live 40 50 years
[34:27]but they achieved so much that you would think they lived 100
[34:33]years you would think 10 people have to spend time in order
[34:36]to publish these books and in order to you know understand all
[34:43]these theories and give these theories and and and leave this great
[34:46]legacy but why was it it's because they did not waste a
[34:49]single moment of their life they spent it all for Allah subhana
[34:55]wa ta'ala all for seeking knowledge and you find they left such
[34:59]a great legacy so we have to seize brothers and sisters every
[35:03]opportunity that we can and when is a greater opportunity than the
[35:10]month of Ramadan the greatest month in the year brothers and sisters
[35:14]Allah subhanahu wa taala has chosen the month of Ramadan to be
[35:21]the best month out of the year and according to our Ramadan
[35:24]is one of the names of Allah subhanahu waala and that's why
[35:29]the Hadith says do not say Ramadan I will fast in Ramadan
[35:32]I will do this in Ramadan because you're saying in God say
[35:35]Ramadan the month of Ramadan the month of God it's the greatest
[35:41]month out of the year that he sums it up in onei
[35:47]he [Music] says what a beautiful summary of Ramadan what is Ramadan
[35:56]cu the beginning of it is mer Mercy the middle of it
[36:01]is forgiveness the end of it Allah subhana will answer our Dua
[36:04]and he will free us from the fires of hell that's everything
[36:07]we can ask for it's all in Ramadan and that's why we
[36:12]have to seize every single minute of it the says the doors
[36:20]of Heaven are opened the doors of hell are closed that means
[36:23]Allah doesn't want to punish people in this one Allah wants to
[36:28]for forgive people in this month let's put hell aside for now
[36:32]and the Hadith says that the hands of the Devils of aan
[36:38]they're all tied up Allah subhah wa taala wants us to accumulate
[36:40]Good Deeds he doesn't want us to commit sins he's trying to
[36:45]help us let's take the let's take the Devils away but hell
[36:48]away the doors of Heaven are opened it's the month of Mercy
[36:52]it's the month of forgiveness and that's why the Hadith of the
[36:56]Prophet says [Music] brothers and sisters the prophet says that you truly
[37:07]have to be miserable if you did not attain the mercy of
[37:11]Allah during Ramadan what did you do how evil were you that
[37:14]Allah was giving out unconditional Mercy but you did not achieve any
[37:18]of Allah's Mercy why what did you do how evil were you
[37:23]Allah is giving out Mercy I have to just take there's someone
[37:25]sitting in the corner giving out money and I don't go to
[37:30]take can I blame that person or I blame myself why didn't
[37:32]you extend your hand Allah is giving out Mercy during this month
[37:36]but I have to go and collect and I collect through spend
[37:41]this month through I spend it in worship I spend it in
[37:44]supplication reciting Quran brothers and sisters this is the month of quranquran
[37:50]this is the spring of Quran at least read one page a
[37:55]day many people they recite the entire Quran during the month of
[37:58]Ramadan once twice I know some people five times 10 times if
[38:02]you can't do that read one page of the Quran at least
[38:04]every day because Allah subh according to theith for every verse that
[38:07]you read in Ramadan from the Quran he gives you the equivalent
[38:13]of the entire Quran in any other one so don't waste brothers
[38:16]and sisters there's so much extra credit bonus given in this month
[38:20]let's not waste this month if I can the beautiful du recite
[38:28]a few prayers anything any good deeds that you can this is
[38:32]the month to start and I start from today from tonight already
[38:35]the first day of Ramadan has finished so let's try to seize
[38:41]every minute of the month of Ramadan so that we seek nearness
[38:44]to Allah subhana tala unfortunately in some countries in some especially Muslim
[38:49]countries Ramadan is not the month of Mery Ramadan is the month
[38:52]of watching soap operas as they say Ramadan is the month of
[38:57]eating people gain weights in some Muslim countries in Ramadan they're fasting
[39:00]because in those 6 7 10 hours of nights they eat five
[39:05]times as much as they do during a normal day this is
[39:08]not Ramadan brothers and sisters this is a materialistic Ramadan Ramadan is
[39:14]the month Ramadan is the month of Allah subhah waala this is
[39:17]where I connect with Allah some Muslim countries it's the month of
[39:21]shopping it's the month of just hanging out and chilling and having
[39:23]fun and shisha and just wasting time this is not Ramadan brothers
[39:30]and sisters Ramadan is the month that I take advantage of and
[39:34]I'll end my lecture brothers and sisters with mentioning of some excerpts
[39:40]from passages from the the sermon ofam that you all heard of
[39:48]but just to recharge our spiritual as they say batteries I'll read
[39:54]a few lines from the beautiful sermon of and then we will
[40:01]end inshallah there was narrated that as Ramadan approached ascended the pulpit
[40:09]and he began to admonish the people and to tell them about
[40:13]the greatness of began by saying says oh people the month of
[40:44]Allah has approached and it has come with all of its blessings
[40:47]and all of its mercy and forgiveness the Blessed month of Ramadan
[41:14]is the best month of Allah subhanahu waala its days are the
[41:18]best of days its nights are the best of nights and its
[41:23]hours are the best of ours [Music] he says during this month
[41:38]there is an ultimate banquet and every single one of us is
[41:43]invited Allah subhah waala is the host he's invited every single one
[41:51]of us it's like a banquet look at how beautifully eloquently it's
[41:55]like a dinner that Allah has invited every everyone he's the host
[41:59]and who's the guest of honor every single one of us Allah
[42:05]is inviting there is a special invitation to every single one of
[42:08]you come join Feast but what's being served on the table it's
[42:14]not food it's Mercy it's forgiveness it's the rewards of Allah it's
[42:18]it's our freedom from the fires of Hell come and join Allah
[42:21]subhanahu waala's blessed invitation and feast and then the most beautiful part
[42:27]of Ramadan says every time we breathe our breaths Allah will count
[42:48]that as T Subhan Allah Subhan all you have to do is
[42:52]breathe and Allah will reward you can you see the extra credit
[42:54]how easy it is that's why the prophet says able is he
[43:00]who Allah subh does not forgive during this because just breathe and
[43:05]Allah will reward you and sleep sleep and Allah count that as
[43:09]worship I sleep for eight hours while I'm snoring Allah will write
[43:15]that as a reward for me the prophet then says your deeds
[43:38]will all be accepted during this month Allah will be less strict
[43:42]Allah will be more lenient to accept our Deeds even if we
[43:45]did not fulfill all the requirements and Allah subh will answer our
[43:50]duas even if we don't deserve to be answered Allah will answer
[43:55]our duas in this month and then finally the holy prophet says
[44:14]finally he says so ask Allah subhanahu waala so that he gives
[44:20]you the honor he gives you the privilege the that you fast
[44:24]during the month of Ramadan so many people Ramadan they don't fast
[44:29]they don't Ramadan Muslims ask Allah subhana to give you the honor
[44:33]and the privilege that you fast during Ramadan and he accepts your
[44:36]deeds and he answers your brothers and sisters let us take advantage
[44:43]of every minute of the month of Ramadan let us not waste
[44:45]any time I ask Allah subhanahu wa taala to give us the
[44:51]and give us the power and the privilege of fasting during the
[44:56]month of Ramadan I I ask him to give us the the
[44:57]that we spend some of our time during Ramadan in and reading
[45:05]Quran supplication Dua Salah and I ask you brothers and sisters to
[45:08]keep me in your Dua please inshallah I shall do the same
[45:11]ask Allah subh Allah subh to accept all our deeds and to
[45:17]accept our fasting today [Music] [Music]
