[0:09][Music] allahar [Music] allahar as Allah [Music] Allah muham all [Music] [Music]
[1:34]Sal [Music] [Music] allahar [Music] ill illal [Music] alayum alhamdulillah muham muhamad
[3:29]muham mamam respected brothers and sisters when we look when people look
[4:23]at the lives of those who are successful those who have achieved
[4:28]something in life or in the afterlife people only focus on the
[4:37]success and sometimes people do not look at the struggles and the
[4:45]troubles and the obstacles that people went through to attain that success
[4:50]and this is how this life Works in order to achieve greatness
[4:58]in order to achieve success whether that is wor worldly success or
[5:02]that is success with regarding to God and the and the afterlife
[5:08]every person has to struggle every person has to face obstacles and
[5:13]challenges in life and one of the Prime examples of someone who
[5:21]faced many obstacles and challenges was today when we look at the
[5:31]prophet people will come and and point out the successes of the
[5:35]Prophet the mo the fastest growing religion he his his religion began
[5:40]to grow he became powerful he became strong but this did not
[5:44]happen overnight this came with struggles this came with endurance this came
[5:50]with many years of his life being threatened when we look at
[5:55]the life of the prophet he was delivering the message for 23
[6:01]years the first 13 years in Mecca every day his life was
[6:07]threatened every day he was harassed there were obstacles in his way
[6:11]he had to leave his hometown and he had to leave and
[6:14]go to Medina and the battles and the wars were waged against
[6:17]him in fact it was in the last one year or two
[6:22]years in the life of the Prophet that things began to change
[6:28]so 22 years 20 years of struggling then success came at the
[6:35]end and my dear brothers and sisters this is a big lesson
[6:42]for us some people they want immediate success and when they do
[6:47]not achieve that success what they want their goals when they see
[6:50]don't get it right away they quit but when we look at
[6:56]the life of when we look at the lives of the prophets
[6:58]and you look at anyone who has attained success you see that
[7:04]there was a ladder to success there were there were steps there
[7:09]were struggles there were obstacles that these people faced is one of
[7:14]them so one of the lessons that we learn is that we
[7:18]have to be patient we have to be patient this is one
[7:20]if I want to be successful with God or in this D
[7:24]I have to be patient I have to endure I have to
[7:28]sacrifice I have to face obstacles and second very important lesson is
[7:32]that especially with God that Allah subhah wa ta'ala is not going
[7:38]to look at your final destination where you have reached but Allah
[7:42]subhah wa ta'ala will judge you in the experience that you had
[7:45]how were you every day how did you deal with your challenges
[7:51]this is how Allah subhah wa ta'ala will judge you today I
[7:55]want to talk about one of the difficult events in the history
[8:01]of of Islam one of the difficult events in the life ofas
[8:05]and very difficult and traumatic experience in the life of and that
[8:13]was when sent out Muslims in the Battle of M in the
[8:20]Battle of mut and the reason I'm talking about this is that
[8:25]these days are the anniversary of that event this was a battle
[8:28]that the prophet did not participate in in but he sent the
[8:31]Muslims and from amongst those who he sent was his cousin the
[8:40]brother of and he appointed him and he appointed two other generals
[8:44]after him if he dies then someone else after him and the
[8:47]third person and they were all killed they were all killed and
[8:54]Ja the brother of his arms were cut off in the battle
[8:56]and he was killed and this was a very very difficult experience
[9:02]for the Muslims this was a very shocking and traumatizing times for
[9:07]the Muslims but we learned that just three years later the Muslims
[9:11]were able to take over and they were able to conquer and
[9:17]victory came to them but it required patience this battle of mut
[9:20]and today the location of this battle is in current day Jordan
[9:28]Jordan so this is this was the first encounter that the Muslims
[9:32]had with the Byzantine Empire with the Roman Christians you look at
[9:37]most of the battles of they were either with the mus of
[9:43]meca the mus the polytheist within the Arabian Peninsula and there was
[9:49]the Battle of kber with some of the Jewish tribes that were
[9:52]within the Arabian Peninsula now above the Arabian Peninsula areas like right
[10:00]now Jordan Damascus us Lebanon these areas they were the shamad Sham
[10:05]and during the time of the early days of Islam these areas
[10:08]were all under the Roman Byzantine Empire and the Muslims were not
[10:18]in that area but Al in the eth year after the Al
[10:23]he sent out Messengers to spread the message of Islam and to
[10:30]to tell people invite people to the religion of Islam so he
[10:33]sent a messenger to the Persian Empire he sent a messenger to
[10:36]the Roman Empire he sent a Messengers all across the world and
[10:43]this shows you how was farsighted today some Muslims were very insular
[10:48]we want to practice Islam and live in our own home and
[10:52]we live in a box and we don't want to tell anyone
[10:53]else about Islam Allah was not like that Allah came with a
[10:59]message for all of humanity Islam is not only if for you
[11:01]if you're from the Middle East Islam is for everyone and was
[11:07]inviting people to The Message of Islam and to the religion of
[11:11]Islam in that way he sent Messengers so he sends a messenger
[11:19]to the leader who was in that area in the area of
[11:21]Jordan today and this is the beginning of sham the beginning of
[11:26]the whole Levant area and he sent that messenger and the leader
[11:32]in that area his name is he killed the messenger of the
[11:35]Prophet so sent a messenger to with a letter and this man
[11:43]sh who was the the buenting the Christians at that time they
[11:48]killed the messenger he found out so he gathered the Muslims and
[11:55]he told them we are going out of Medina we're going to
[12:01]meet outside of Medina where we are going to prepare an army
[12:05]and he prepared 3,000 men and he tells them to come and
[12:12]wait outside of Medina and there he appointed the commanders of this
[12:16]group 3,000 men he tells them your first leader is jaali the
[12:25]very cousin of the brother of and Ja was from amongst the
[12:30]early Muslims the early Muslims when it was only and there's a
[12:38]narration it says that was praying and next to him was praying
[12:42]next to him and Abu Talib the father of Imam Ali he
[12:48]he takes his son jaar by his hand and he tells him
[12:51]go and complete the wing of your cousin Muhammad meaning get on
[12:55]the other side and pray with him on the other side ja
[12:56]was from the early Believers and Al so he goes and he
[13:08]he appoints and after ja he says if ja is killed then
[13:12]z z was the adopted son of he says if ja is
[13:20]killed after him is z and if Z is killed then so
[13:26]he had plan a plan B and plan and then he says
[13:31]if abdah is killed then you guys find someone from amongst yourselves
[13:34]and choose this person to be a commander so the Muslims 3,000
[13:43]they March and they reach that area in current day Jordan the
[13:48]Battle of mut the area of mut and the Muslims when they
[13:51]reach there they see that the Byzantine Empire the Byzantine Army is
[13:59]much greater than the 3,000 Muslims many times more so some of
[14:04]them they said wait are we supposed to fight them let's wait
[14:07]with let's wait and see for to send reinforcements abdah who was
[14:14]the third man put in command he comes to them and he
[14:17]tells them oh Muslims we are here this is exactly what we
[14:24]want either we have Victory or we have shahada and those are
[14:27]two paths to Victory either e we're going to be victorious or
[14:32]we're going to be killed there's no losing path in this both
[14:35]ways are going to be victorious for us and this is what
[14:38]happened they remained they stood and the battle began and as the
[14:46]battle began the commanders started falling one after the other sh today
[14:51]we think Islam came to us easy today we we take our
[14:56]religion very granted we take it for granted no there have been
[14:58]sacrifices there have been many that have been killed just to deliver
[15:01]this message and keep the truth for us his arms were cut
[15:09]off in the battle and then he was killed and then Z
[15:14]then then the leader after him Z he takes the the lead
[15:20]he carries the flag and he falls and then abdah takes the
[15:22]lead and he falls and then the flag fell to the ground
[15:27]the Muslims They carried it and they gave it to KH and
[15:30]they were able to retreat and come back to Medina now as
[15:37]this was happening imagine there's a battle going on hundreds of miles
[15:44]away but is in Med and he is describing scene by scene
[15:50]event by event Moment by moment to the Muslims what is happening
[15:56]so he tells them the Muslim army they have encountered the army
[16:00]of the byzantines and they are much larger than them then began
[16:03]to cry and he tells them the right hand of Ja has
[16:08]been and the Muslims they began to cry and then he tells
[16:13]them the left arm of Ja has been K and begins to
[16:17]cry and then he tells them ja was killed Z was killed
[16:22]abdah was killed and the Muslims imagine they're watching a movie Allah
[16:27]is telling them the story and the Muslims are crying for their
[16:32]fellow brothers and sisters now the Army has not come back yet
[16:37]the Army has not come back yet the narration says he goes
[16:45]to the home of Ja he goes to the home of jaar
[16:47]and he sees his wife as this lady as she's a very
[16:54]important lady in the history of Islam she was married to jaar
[16:56]she migrated with jaar to Africa ja took Islam to Africa they
[17:02]migrated there and then they came back and then when her husband
[17:05]was killed she ended up marrying Abu and then when Abu Bakr
[17:09]died she ends up marrying so she was a lady that was
[17:16]very uh she had a great role in the history and in
[17:19]the development of Islam goes to Asma and he tells her bring
[17:23]me the children of Ja my nephew they're they jaar is the
[17:29]cousin of and has three sons Abdullah and Muhammad and Abdullah becomes
[17:38]the husband of s Zab later on he ends up marrying say
[17:40]Zab later on so he tells them bring them to me and
[17:45]he brings them and R Allah begins to cry and he begins
[17:46]to wipe his hand on their head so as she tells him
[17:52]y Allah I see you treating my children the same way you
[17:58]treat the orphans so tell tells her yes jaar has been killed
[18:02]jaar has been killed and she began to cry but he tells
[18:08]her but don't cry because Allah subhanahu waala has given ja wings
[18:11]to fly in Paradise with the angels and this is why ja
[18:18]is known as because ja he he said ja has wings that
[18:25]he will fly with the angels because his arms were cut off
[18:30]in the battle and the IMs of the they say that whose
[18:34]arms were also cut off in the battle Allah will give him
[18:41]Wings the same way he gave Wings to ja so then then
[18:45]he goes to Fatima his daughter Fatima and he tells her oh
[18:52]Fatima prepare food for the family of jaar they are in Shock
[18:56]jaar has just died prepare for them food and this became the
[19:02]Sunnah in Islam the Sunnah of that when someone dies it is
[19:05]recommended to go and take food to the family of the one
[19:10]who has died today in some cultures you see it's the other
[19:11]way around the one if they have if they have people that
[19:15]died in their family they have to come and feed hundreds of
[19:17]people in some cultures this is how it is Islam Islamic culture
[19:23]is the other way around if someone has lost people you're supposed
[19:25]to take food for them and she prepared prepared food for the
[19:30]family of Ja and this and it is actually there's a Hadith
[19:36]that says that it's m to eat from the food of those
[19:41]who have just lost lost the loved one not because you don't
[19:43]want the Tha to go to other people here and there but
[19:48]you don't want to burden them you don't want to burden them
[19:50]Islam tells you don't burden those who have just lost the loved
[19:54]one it's Mak to eat at their from their food instead you
[19:57]take food for them instead you deliver food for them now there's
[20:01]also aith that says that when ja died of course it's his
[20:11]brother IM Ali began to cry as well and IMI IM he
[20:15]says this Hadith and this is a Hadith narrated by from IM
[20:20]from he says when died he said I made it I had
[20:27]a covenant between myself and Hamza my uncle and jaar my brother
[20:34]and UHA that we us four Anda is also the nephew of
[20:41]the cousin of rol Allah he said we had a covenant that
[20:46]us for we will give our lives for that we will sacrifice
[20:52]everything in the cause of but then when Hamza was killed when
[20:58]was killed when ja was killed I felt guilty I felt guilty
[21:06]that they kept their Covenant and I was not killed and then
[21:09]this verse came down from the there are men who keep their
[21:19]Covenant with Allah subhana tal they made a covenant to defend and
[21:31]from those they are those that have given their life and they
[21:36]made the sacrifice and from them there are those who are waiting
[21:43]for that day to come the day of the day of sacrifice
[21:48]and they do not change so tells you are from those who
[21:54]are waiting and you have not changed your Covenant you have not
[21:58]given up on the Covenant that you you had with and for
[22:03]the sake of Islam so these are some of the events that
[22:05]took place in the Battle of M where ja the cousin of
[22:11]was killed and the narration say that when the Muslim Army came
[22:18]back when they came back to Medina the people of Medina they
[22:20]did not welcome them the people of Medina they said how could
[22:25]you come back when three of your generals were killed when ja
[22:28]and ZB and abdah were killed how could you come back and
[22:34]they all felt the guilt and they felt the shame that they
[22:37]came back where their generals were killed and the Muslims they started
[22:40]calling them you are the ones who ran away in the battle
[22:47]but he was still optimistic even in difficult times and this is
[22:52]a lesson for us my dear brothers and sisters even in the
[22:54]most difficult times while the whole Muslim Community was telling them you
[22:59]guys ran away from the battle says inshallah he says no they
[23:10]are not those who ran away in the battle inshallah they will
[23:13]go back and this is exactly what happened within three years just
[23:17]within three years the whole Levant area Damascus and Jordan and all
[23:23]of these areas they were under the rule of Islam so sometimes
[23:26]one of the most important lesson lesons that we learned from the
[23:30]life of is that success comes gradually today some of us we
[23:36]expect success to come right away immediate but it doesn't happen that
[23:39]way sometimes you have to make sacrifices sometimes you have to see
[23:43]difficulties you have to see obstacles you have to give up some
[23:47]things and eventually success will come we ask Allah subhanahu wa taala
[23:56]to bring success to the do we ask Allah subhah wa tala
[23:58]to bring bring success to the Believers today so that despite the
[24:01]losses that the Muslims are seeing this doesn't mean that it's the
[24:06]end of the day there is always going to be another day
[24:09]and by the will of Allah subhah wa ta'ala Allah has promised
[24:15]victory for the Believers my dear brothers and sisters alhamdulillah mamuh h
[26:01]muham muham my dear brothers and sisters the last few days if
[26:32]you have been following what's going on in the news especially with
[26:36]what's going on in the Middle East in Syria this brings mixed
[26:42]feelings for many people some people don't know whether to be happy
[26:49]or to be sad or to be confused with what's going on
[26:55]from one side our religious teach teachings us following the following the
[27:03]Quran following the way of our religion teaches us that we should
[27:10]want dignity for ourselves and dignity for everyone else we want to
[27:17]live in honor and we should want every other person to live
[27:20]in honor despite their religion their beliefs their culture their skin color
[27:28]our religion tells us that we should want for M for other
[27:33]people whether they're Muslim or not Muslim we should want them to
[27:36]live in honor and dignity because Allah subhana wa ta'ala created every
[27:40]person with honor and dignity and we should want that compassion towards
[27:46]other people because at the end of the day everyone deserves to
[27:52]live a life of fulfillment of honor and dignity and when he
[27:59]appointed he tells him people are in two categories meaning people are
[28:10]either your brothers and sisters in faith or they're human beings just
[28:13]like you just like you want to eat just like you want
[28:15]to travel just like you want to live comfortably you should want
[28:20]that for other people and our religion never tells us to discriminate
[28:26]and tell people oh you don't deserve to live unhappiness and you
[28:30]deserve to live a miserable life just because of your religion whether
[28:33]you're Muslim whether you're Christian whether you're Jewish whether you're an atheist
[28:38]whatever it is this is a life that Allah subhana wa tala
[28:42]has given people and this is something that we want for everyone
[28:45]and we wish that for the Syrian people and we wish that
[28:50]not only for the Syrian people but for every people this is
[28:52]one side but then From Another Dimension you see that the people
[28:58]that have come come to power after the topple of the regime
[29:05]and the government in Syria you see the people that have come
[29:09]to power are people that are not coming with clean records individuals
[29:13]that were known to be members of Isis members of Al individuals
[29:19]whose hands have been stained with the blood of innocent people individuals
[29:24]that have spread Terror within the region individuals that have invested and
[29:31]focused on sectarianism dividing People based on color based on religion based
[29:37]on ethnicities and beliefs and this is what's going on right now
[29:43]so today we see some people celebrating and some people they're holding
[29:47]back on celebrating not because I don't want the Syrian people to
[29:50]live a life of dignity but because the people who you are
[29:52]saying are going to come and bring you Liberation and dignity and
[29:57]freedom and honor there are people whose hands are stained with blood
[30:01]this man who are they're making him be the hero of the
[30:04]day Abu mammed Jani ahed this man he was a member of
[30:13]Isis he was imprisoned in Iraq this man has committed crimes in
[30:15]Iraq you we all know the crimes that Isis committed against innocent
[30:20]minorities against Christians against sh against the aidis against other people against
[30:26]the sunnis themselves and he was the second man in in command
[30:31]after Abu Bakr Al bagdadi and he was known to be a
[30:33]terrorist a man who was imprisoned in Iraq he was there was
[30:39]a $10 million bounty on his head by the US government so
[30:42]it is this man and it is this ideology that is coming
[30:50]in so-called liberating Syria today so if you don't see me and
[30:53]if you don't see some people celebrating what's going on you can't
[30:57]blame them because you're getting rid of one Tyrant you're getting rid
[31:00]of one person that had occupied you but you're allowing another group
[31:05]of people that are coming and today videos are coming out of
[31:10]certain Shia areas for example the area of Zab where the shrine
[31:13]of Z the daughter of is or the grave of the daughter
[31:19]of IM Hussein is you see that they're entering and they're saying
[31:23]B have come back meaning They're bringing back they're bringing back the
[31:28]hatred that is over a thousand years ago they're bringing it back
[31:34]today and they're saying B have come back and now you are
[31:37]under our feet and now you are under our Command so this
[31:42]is why some people are not very excited with what's going on
[31:46]furthermore they're coming and they're saying these people have liberated Syria yes
[31:51]you might have gotten rid of Assad but today who is Conquering
[31:59]Syria now the same day Assad fell which government and which group
[32:03]of people and which regime started bombing Syria over 500 Air Raids
[32:09]Israel did Israel did they came and they they they're 20 kilometers
[32:13]away from Damascus now is this something that the Muslim umah should
[32:19]be happy about is this something that the Muslim umah should be
[32:22]cheering and you see some of the imams they're celebrating yes the
[32:24]fall of Assad the fall of Assad okay Assad fell but look
[32:30]what happened happen no Israel within two days they had the biggest
[32:33]air strikes in their history with over 500 raids they were worried
[32:37]that they ran out of weapons even though they have a promised
[32:43]guarantee of weapons from Biden and America but over they destroyed the
[32:46]whole Syrian military they sunk all the ships they destroyed all of
[32:53]the airplanes and the whole world is silent to this so this
[32:56]is one point that we have to to look at as well
[33:01]another thing today some people they come and they say but this
[33:04]Assad yes they were criminals they had people in prisons and this
[33:09]is what the media has been focusing on yes we'll come and
[33:12]we're not defending ASA my religion does not tell me to defend
[33:14]someone who if they have committed crimes if they have done wrong
[33:20]I cannot come and defend this person but for those who are
[33:23]cheering and celebrating the fall of Assad have you looked at what
[33:27]your own governments are doing have you looked at how many are
[33:32]in your own prisons how have you looked at how the Arab
[33:34]countries and the Western countries those who are those who brought thousands
[33:40]of soldiers from foreign soldiers they brought them into Syria and they
[33:44]put in all of the weapons have you looked at your own
[33:47]countries what they're doing today when they come and they make one
[33:51]person look like a horrible monster they forget that they are all
[33:58]monsters when Netanyahu has a genocide on his hand and over 60
[34:02]70,000 people have been killed thousands of lives have been destroyed and
[34:06]he comes to America and he gets 57 standing ovations where is
[34:12]the hypocrisy you could tell and you could see the hypocracy or
[34:16]they're talking about the prisons in Syria you know which country has
[34:21]the most prisoners it's America over 2 million prisoners in the United
[34:25]States over 2 million incarcerated in the United United States and disproportionately
[34:32]incarcerate incarcerated in America the percent of black people is 12% but
[34:38]you go and you look at the prisons you see 50% of
[34:42]the prisoners are black people is this fair is this Justice or
[34:46]we have a single sided approach we have just one approach where
[34:50]the media makes some group of people look like Monsters and other
[34:53]group of people look like Saints you look at these very same
[34:59]Arab countries Muslim countries those who are cheering the fall of Assad
[35:04]you see that in their own countries if you tweet one tweet
[35:06]that the government doesn't like you're going to be in jail and
[35:10]no one's going to hear about you anymore or if you write
[35:12]an article in a newspaper you're going to be cut up with
[35:15]a saw you're going to be beheaded in front of people now
[35:17]suddenly Assad became a bad person yes I'm not defending Assad Assad
[35:21]probably he did commit a lot of crimes and it's the Syrian
[35:25]people who should decide who is their leader in a democratic system
[35:29]but when you come and you see the double standards coming from
[35:32]outside these same people they come and they say Saddam is a
[35:37]Shahid Saddam is a Shahid Saddam when he killed his own people
[35:40]when he gassed the Kurds when he waged the war with Iran
[35:45]he's he's being celebrated as a leader but others who you don't
[35:48]like you come and you make them we have to have a
[35:52]fair and just approach towards what's going on right now for those
[35:55]who are celebrating I tell them you're celebrating a little bit too
[35:58]early is Syria really liberated when you have Americans taking all of
[36:04]the oil out of the country this is they have admitted this
[36:07]when you have other other governments they're coming and occupying land Syrian
[36:12]land are you still celebrating this man Abu Muhammad julani they told
[36:16]him while you're celebrating you're going from one mosque to another mosque
[36:19]celebrating the Syrian land they came 20 km at the at the
[36:25]borders of Damascus and you're celebrating he says no no no our
[36:27]problem is with the Shia so you're going to be silent to
[36:33]what Israel is doing but your problem is the Shia so my
[36:35]dear brothers and sisters this is what's going on in Syria but
[36:38]despite all of that we pray for the success of Syria as
[36:43]a nation as a people and we pray that they are liberated
[36:47]that they live an honored lifestyle just as everyone deserves to live
[36:50]with honor and with dignity and we pray for a free Syria
[36:53]and we pray for a free Palestine and we pray for the
[37:00]Zionist soldiers to leave Lebanon and we want people to live at
[37:04]peace regardless of their religion regardless of their beliefs regardless of their
[37:10]Association so my dear brothers and sisters this is um something that
[37:17]we should continue praying for and we should continue praying for the
[37:21]liberty and success of all people despite their religion and despite their
[37:24]sect my dear brothers and sisters inshallah as the New Year's ending
[37:28]I will be traveling to omra and to Iraq and to Iran
[37:33]and I will be praying for all of you and inshallah the
[37:35]the programs are going to continue here we have three weeks where
[37:39]abdurahman is going to be leading the Thursday Thursday night program and
[37:45]the Friday prayer and inshallah I will come back after the new
[37:49]year and I will keep you all in my duas wherever I
[37:54]go let us raise our hands in Dua Allah Allah
