[16:57]you ready can we start with a please um it's been a
[17:08]while so I'm going to go a little bit over Quran City
[17:11]if I can get used to this have I got it right
[17:16]oh down okay so I brought Quan City last time and you
[17:19]saw it we've got the different suburbs you have a map like
[17:26]this hopefully somewhere um if not there's a book here which has
[17:29]a map in it we went over the difference between mad and
[17:33]Maki chapters there was a chronological order of the Quran and you
[17:37]can see the yellow ones are all Maki the green ones are
[17:41]M so maky were revealed first and then M the demarcation like
[17:44]um line is actually Hijra so anything before Hijra is maki anything
[17:49]after Hijra is madini I mentioned this before that there will be
[17:52]m aat in Maki Surah and there'll be makat in M Surah
[17:59]okay um we talked about the gates and I talked about the
[18:03]various different um suburbs today we're going to look at viewpoint Terrace
[18:09]which is and in essence if you and I believe in the
[18:14]Quran and we do that's why we're here um we do that
[18:20]because we're M and we do that because we want to be
[18:23]Companions of jna Zummer actually means compa companions or a faction of
[18:31]or a part of so it could mean both Janam and jna
[18:34]as we will see in zumar but we're going to look at
[18:39]Companions of Jenna there's an Ayah in Sur zumar that we will
[18:41]do that the prophet said if I were to be given the
[18:45]Treasures of the heavens and the earth I would not exchange it
[18:48]for that Ayah and we'll talk about that when we come to
[18:51]it so we're looking at M and Zumer basically because there's a
[18:54]tick box in Zumer and in M basically in both of them
[18:58]about who who it is is an actual mman and then obviously
[19:03]when I talk to Children whom I'm more used to than adults
[19:06]it's people who Zoom to jna so you can't forget Zoomer okay
[19:12]so zooming to jna um we've done we've looked at most of
[19:14]these as in section so I'm not going to go over each
[19:19]one what I'd like to go straight to is and hopefully it
[19:23]should be in here there you go that's you have it in
[19:26]your books that's the first thing you will look at is its
[19:31]focus which is something that I've been talking about for quite a
[19:34]while so the focus is actually tick boxes is the quality of
[19:41]one who believes now you'll see in the Quran very often there
[19:45]are those ayat that say oh you who believe but AMU is
[19:52]a verb and a verb is changeable one day you may believe
[19:58]one day you may not believe and covers a whole range of
[20:03]people it even in covers people who believe for a short period
[20:07]of time while is a noun it's like done deal that's it
[20:13]you you you don't have a noun doesn't change a noun is
[20:16]as it is an apple is an apple is an apple you
[20:19]can't say was an apple and now it's not an apple it's
[20:24]just dumb example but it's an example so when it says it
[20:27]is talking about the qualities of the people whom it's a done
[20:33]deal they don't change and therefore when the Surah starts off by
[20:43]saying it's saying it is a done deal those who tick these
[20:51]boxes are successful now and in the here after and it's not
[20:54]rocket science to look at these this tick box and say well
[20:57]if I tick those Bo boxes you don't have to look at
[20:59]other people go look at yourself if I tick those boxes then
[21:03]definitely I've I'm done so what we're going to look at today
[21:06]is actually those tick boxes if you look at your building on
[21:10]top it says qualities of those who TR truly believe contrasted to
[21:13]those who deny Divine guidance and resurrection and in your buildings in
[21:19]your book you will see there's six sections to Sur M Minon
[21:24]so we're going to focus on section one and section four which
[21:26]are the tick boxes and I'll go I can't go through all
[21:31]the ayat because there's a lot of ayat in here um as
[21:35]you can probably see but I will only go over the ti
[21:37]boxes so let's look at these tick boxes so this says definitely
[21:43]without any doubt it's a done deal those who are M are
[21:45]successful now it gives you the tick tick box or it tells
[21:50]you what you're supposed to focus on number one it says in
[21:58]their Salah they haveu now I was trying to find out how
[22:05]I can describe right so if you look at Surah number seven
[22:10]later on you can look it up in your qurans you will
[22:14]see that the people of MSA the bani Isel they were a
[22:20]little bit skeptical even the wise ones of Musa were skeptical because
[22:24]they were saying yeah okay fair enough in the end Allah gets
[22:27]the Mountain to hover over them for a minute imagine a mountain
[22:34]hovering over you that is is being in awe and the only
[22:41]way I can be in awe of something or someone is if
[22:43]I understand and I think I I say this all the time
[22:49]you can only be in Salah if you understand it otherwise you
[22:55]can't cuz you're actually in the presence of the one who created
[22:58]you the one you going back to okay so the first first
[23:03]tick box is those who are um in awe of their creator
[23:09]in Salah which actually suggests that they they are more in awe
[23:12]in Salah but they're in awe all the time next one um
[23:21]they don't engage in anything that is unb beneficial that's probably the
[23:30]best way I can put it so none of their actions are
[23:33]not beneficials everything they do they keep away from something that's non-beneficial
[23:38]activity and somebody I was listening to was actually suggesting that very
[23:44]many times we get so used to the um the games on
[23:48]our phone that they become the absolute beat and oit of life
[23:52]or Nintendo or whatever it might be so they keep away from
[23:58]that which is not beneficial okay I'm not going to go through
[24:00]all the things because there's many things I think chilling out is
[24:04]that beneficial I don't know you got to work it out yourself
[24:09]okay they doesn't say they give zaka let's go over it again
[24:16]they don't look at the translation that's a those are different translations
[24:21]they do zaka they don't give zaka when I say they don't
[24:27]give that means they give zaka anyway but the these people are
[24:31]those who do zakat now if you look up zakat sadly um
[24:36]as we tend to think that zaka is only 2 and a
[24:40]half% or whatever percentages of gold coins and whatever and we say
[24:44]we don't have to give zaka however everywhere in the Quran is
[24:50]so it cannot just be that part it is about Zak actually
[24:56]means to be able to cleanse oneself so so continuously they're looking
[25:01]at ways of improving themselves so that's the other tick box so
[25:07]they do so they engag constantly in trying to change themselves their
[25:16]intimate Behavior or their behavior is I'm going to try and put
[25:26]this in the in the right way okay so they are mind
[25:27]ful of their intimate Behavior they don't do things that are permissive
[25:34]they're very very mindful that's what it's trying to say except that
[25:41]which is halal basically and if they do go beyond the limits
[25:46]then they're well they're exceeding the limits so I I'll just put
[25:52]it in one sentence they are engaged in um Decent Behavior can
[25:56]I put it that way that makes it more easy easier to
[26:00]understand okay they're very trustworthy one of the things we call the
[26:12]prophet is TTC truthful trustworthy and compassionate so these people tick boox
[26:18]are they trustworthy or not can you entrust them with something especially
[26:22]a secret can you tell them and will they keep him do
[26:24]they keep their promises or not and again it's talking about myself
[26:29]not about everybody else so that's my tick box next one they're
[26:35]very protective about their Salah very very protective now the MU have
[26:41]suggested that not only do they feel unsettled if it's time for
[26:48]Salah and they've not not praying that's one bit but the other
[26:52]bit is they recite the and CU na protects your main Salah
[26:56]that's what the MU you can look at me and smile but
[27:03]hey that's how that's how that works okay so do you feel
[27:06]unsettled when it's time for Salah I talk to the children at
[27:09]workshop and every single assembly I ask them for times of Salah
[27:16]now because they are K and I very proud to be a
[27:19]k they only know fa Z and so what happens to and
[27:26]is whenever I ask them they're in fact stanmore is quite good
[27:31]now because if you look at Stan more Salah time it's got
[27:33]ass and is as well you do not become not you don't
[27:38]become a nonay if you pray and is separately okay it's just
[27:44]a thought so incidentally if you have work and school and you
[27:50]can't pray at those times at least at the time of Salah
[27:54]raise your hands because your duas are heard these are the inheritors
[27:58]of there is nobody here who doesn't want to go to Jenna
[28:06]nobody I mean nobody who doesn't want jna on Earth and on
[28:11]in the and in the and the these tick boxes that we
[28:13]went through and I'll go over them again number one they're in
[28:17]awe of Salah they keep away from non-beneficial activity they do zaka
[28:21]so they give zaka as well but they do zaka so they're
[28:23]engaging and correcting themselves they're decent there's DEC in them they're trustworthy
[28:29]and they go out of their way to guard their Salah are
[28:35]you comfortable okay so that's your first section that's section one which
[28:39]goes from Ayah 1 to 11 section two and I'll just whiz
[28:43]through it is basically reflection of creation and if you look at
[28:50]your books it goes from 12 to 22 it starts off with
[28:52]the creation of the human being it tells you you're going to
[28:56]die it tells you you'll be Resurrected Ed and then it talks
[28:59]about the heavens it talks about water that means rain it talks
[29:06]about what grows from the earth in fact there it talks about
[29:08]olive oil and its importance and it talks about cattle it talks
[29:12]about milk that you drink from it and then it says look
[29:16]at the ships that Sail on the sea they're so heavy and
[29:18]they sail on the sea and immediately in section three he goes
[29:22]to Prophet no and the moment you think of prophet no you
[29:24]think of the Ark now this section this session looks at those
[29:30]who in essence disbelieved in accountability so the first person you've got
[29:35]here is Prophet new and this actually goes in for quite a
[29:39]bit so you've got Ayah 23 you've got Ayah 24 they called
[29:46]him a Madman you can imagine if somebody Portsmouth is near water
[29:50]but if somebody in stanmore in the car park said I'm going
[29:53]to build an ark I mean you're really going to think he's
[29:57]is mad they weren't you know they were logical that's what they
[30:02]thought that's how they worked their way through but their logic this
[30:05]is what they said they said he's building an ark in the
[30:06]middle of kufa kufa was where Prophet new built the ark there
[30:12]wasn't any water so they said he's mad and he said help
[30:14]me they're calling me a liar because he said I will need
[30:20]this Ark so the first thing they do people who are not
[30:26]m is they will call prophets Liars they will say this is
[30:32]not right right and this is a Dua that you all read
[30:34]if you go on to a to a Muslim flight they will
[30:39]tell youin you should have it in your cars as well by
[30:46]the way so this is a traveling Dua that Prophet no was
[30:50]taught it's just slipped in somewhere then he says there are signs
[30:54]in this for you to think about another generation more prophets were
[31:01]sent and again they disbelieved the reason and the second thing that
[31:07]people who disbelieve do is they say these prophets were just like
[31:11]us they're human beings they eat they drink they walk we did
[31:14]foran exactly the same thing and if we start believing in people
[31:19]like that who are changing our way of life we're going to
[31:23]be losers and you know what they say they say the prophets
[31:26]say that you will die and then you will be resurrected and
[31:30]he says how can you how can that be possible there's nothing
[31:35]but the life of the world we die we live and we
[31:37]shall not be raised again so people who are not M do
[31:43]not believe in that's what this Quran is saying okay he's just
[31:46]a man he's lying that's what they called him and again these
[31:51]prophets said who came after Prophet new help me against those who
[31:58]are calling me lying he said in a little while you will
[32:05]see what will happen and when the punishment came they were gone
[32:07]so the punishment will come then we raised another generation and then
[32:15]we sent another messenger and they said now the other thing they
[32:19]say is that these are just stories these are just ancient stories
[32:24]then it talks about M and Haron so had prophet then all
[32:28]the other prophets up to M and Haron were put in one
[32:32]batch and they were they said these were ancient stories now it's
[32:35]got Musa and Haron got to Fon who was arrogant and they
[32:40]said shall we believe in two people who are like us they
[32:45]don't even have the dignity that we have they're poor look at
[32:48]the way they're dressing they were rejected them and so the people
[32:51]of Fon were destroyed and then MSA was given a book to
[32:56]follow in the right direction then you come to Isa and I'm
[32:58]just going through this section so you see how it works through
[33:02]so we can see how Allah describes Prophet Isa they're told each
[33:06]of the good things I know what you do every single messenger
[33:17]brought this message they cut off their religion into sects they said
[33:21]I am right and you are not and each part thought they
[33:25]would be right that's his that's where they comes from so Allah
[33:28]says leave them leave them in their own sections I will deal
[33:34]with them and do they think that if we gave them wealth
[33:36]in children that they've got the good things they don't understand and
[33:42]he says the only ones who are have got again that word
[33:47]comes up now the word means petrified all right I'll go again
[34:00]they're absolutely petrified they're scared of doing anything wrong basically now these
[34:11]are the good people again we are now into section four by
[34:14]the way sorry I didn't tell you that that's section four we
[34:20]go to another tick box um let's go back here they have
[34:27]and hereu means they are petrified they're petrified of doing anything wrong
[34:34]next T box they believe in the Quran the Quran is known
[34:40]as a unifier you can be of any of those sects that
[34:47]this talks about but the Quran brings you together it makes no
[34:51]difference which of the sex you belong whether you're Sunni or Shia
[34:55]or whoever you are you pick up the Quran everybody wants to
[34:57]to do the lesson with you you pick up Arabic everybody wants
[35:00]to do Arabic with you because it doesn't have anything it's known
[35:03]as a unifier so he says they believe in that which unifies
[35:09]they don't associate anything with Allah this is your T tick box
[35:14]going along if you look at your books you've got that on
[35:16]your building so you may not need to write it when they
[35:26]give out when they give charity they give charity because they know
[35:31]they will return to their rub not because of anything else they
[35:36]don't want to name they don't want to put anything out there
[35:38]but they know they will return to their R and that is
[35:43]why they give in charity or they do something good you you
[35:51]talk about is to run so whenever they see a good deed
[35:55]they run and they always always win they don't wait I'll give
[36:01]you an example because you're all looking like you're going to sleep
[36:05]so what we did at stano one day on a Saturday was
[36:07]um we have we it's changed now but we have stairs that
[36:11]go upstairs that the back if you've been to stand you know
[36:13]that so we took a packet of crisps and we spilled it
[36:18]all down the the stairs yeah don't look at me like that
[36:21]okay we did that and then we thought at the end of
[36:26]Workshop we'll go and have a look at what happened I can
[36:30]tell you that the crisps were Ground into the carpet not one
[36:34]person picked them up yet home if I see a tiny little
[36:39]hair I will pick it up from the carpet so that in
[36:41]essence is saying when you see a good deed to be done
[36:46]whether it is picking up whatever it is crisps from the floor
[36:49]they will run to do it and they will win so I'll
[36:54]tell you about Al modul maybe I've said it before but I'll
[36:59]repeat it again so Al Mai is known to have written bhar
[37:01]you know bhar anir right the oceans of light it's about 114
[37:08]volumes whatever it is and he used to do a plat and
[37:13]he used to pin his plat to the to the to the
[37:15]wall so that if sleep came over it will wake him up
[37:19]again that is Al Maji that's a guy he is so Al
[37:23]Maji when he dies or rather he and his friend do a
[37:25]PCT whoever dies first will come in the other person's dream so
[37:31]Al Mai dies first and his friend narrates that I didn't see
[37:34]him in my dream at all and there was quite a long
[37:38]time and he said after I saw him after a long time
[37:41]and I said what's the problem how took you so long to
[37:42]come in my dream so he said when I went into my
[37:45]grave they said Maji what did you bring he said what do
[37:48]you mean what did you bring bear so many volumes I wrote
[37:53]it so they said mjy what is on the cover he said
[37:57]my name he he said well whoever reads it till will give
[37:59]you the you know the a that you have but what did
[38:04]you do that you did solely for Allah he said I couldn't
[38:06]remember just couldn't remember so he said that two things now two
[38:09]things come up one is that when I was writing this book
[38:14]a fly came and sat on the ink and I thought oh
[38:18]God is this fly is stopping me from writing but I waited
[38:21]till the fly had finished drinking its water or its share of
[38:27]the ink and then I started writing and Allah accepted it the
[38:31]second one says that Al M says that I was called to
[38:36]the king's court and I had to go there and they came
[38:40]in all their magnificent you know wherever people they came with their
[38:44]horses and whatever they were their carriages they came to take me
[38:46]and he said I got into the carriage and this man who
[38:50]talks to me all the time all the time was sitting on
[38:52]the on the on the side of the road and he said
[38:55]Maj see I have one more question and he said my first
[38:59]instinct was you know what he'll be there when I come back
[39:01]and these people I can't make them wait but then as I
[39:05]went across I thought no no no no it's not right so
[39:08]I went all the way back got these soldiers really angry at
[39:10]me I sat down on the ground and I answered his questions
[39:15]and Allah accepted that so that is a Good Deed by the
[39:18]way okay all right he will never ever give you more than
[39:26]you can bear Never So when you say had enough can't take
[39:31]anymore it's that's not what he does he gives you more and
[39:34]the more he gives you the more he reckons your ability is
[39:38]um you do not give an a-level exam to a to a
[39:41]kindergarten student so you got to take that get difficult times in
[39:46]life this is what it's all about so that in essence gets
[39:49]us through section three now we come to section four again I'll
[39:54]I'll put it all together in a minute so now let's see
[39:56]what they do this is talking about those who deny Divine guidance
[40:06]their hearts are preoccupied with everything other than Allah there is no
[40:13]balance in D in this says they're always distracted so if you
[40:25]told them come to a Maus come to class uhuh too much
[40:30]there's too much distraction going on and then he says until their
[40:34]easy lives and this is talking about the elite are those who
[40:40]do are the Elite he says when they are even touched with
[40:46]a little bit of difficulty they cry out for help and he
[40:51]says don't cry out now on that day this is a warning
[40:56]by the way you will not get help from us and he
[41:00]says look we recited our Communications to you but you thought you
[41:05]didn't want to listen to the Quran you didn't want to learn
[41:09]about the Quran and you were when anybody talked about the Quran
[41:16]you left it you ran away from classes you didn't want to
[41:23]be part of it and he says did you not ponder over
[41:30]it but no you said these are old stories these are ancient
[41:36]stories but is it that you didn't recognize the messenger and you
[41:43]denied him because he was changing the way you lived and should
[41:47]the truth if what you said was true then the world would
[41:56]have collapsed or is it or is it that you think that
[42:09]what you did deserves a recompense these are all questions that are
[42:12]asked to the soul that denies and we called you to the
[42:22]right path every single Dua you and I do when 10 times
[42:25]a day we say so he says we we found we we
[42:32]told you where to go we showed you the path if you
[42:34]look at we've shown you the way it's up to you whether
[42:42]you take it or you don't we're not going to force you
[42:45]okay and most surely those who don't believe they will move away
[42:51]the only thing that stops anybody from from doing anything right is
[42:54]when you don't believe in accountability when you think you're not not
[42:57]being watched um just go back here a bit if there were
[43:02]no speed cameras can you imagine what you and I would do
[43:05]just for one minute think if there were no speed cameras what
[43:11]you would would you and I do especially when it was a
[43:14]clear Road there was nobody looking and you thought in your mind
[43:18]that everything was okay so in the same way if I don't
[43:24]believe in accountability I'm going to do what I want and this
[43:28]is exactly what they did so he says one of the one
[43:31]of the things of not being a mman is that you don't
[43:32]believe in accountability and then he says when they have an issue
[43:43]when there's a problem in their lives and we make it better
[43:45]for them call us they forget who we were but when they
[43:49]have a problem they'll tell you do Dua for me do this
[43:51]for me do tby for me show me anal all the rest
[43:56]of it and he says what they don't understand is they have
[44:00]already been punished because they don't have a direction to go towards
[44:04]and then when the door of aab comes they will Despair and
[44:11]he says have you just thought about the ears and your eyes
[44:17]and your hearts have you ever thought about how to be grateful
[44:20]to those you thought about how you multiplied in the earth and
[44:31]he gives you death and it is in it's in control the
[44:33]night and the day these are just Reflections by the way that
[44:37]he gives you and they will still say this is basically what
[44:41]the people the ancient people used to say and again they say
[44:45]how can I believe that I'm am going to die and I'll
[44:49]become dust and bones and that I'm going to be raised again
[44:53]they just cannot get it into their heads and he said says
[44:57]who's is the earth think about it if you say that if
[45:02]you ask them who's is the earth they will definitely say Allah
[45:10]so the problem with the and with everybody else is that they
[45:13]will not say there is not a god they will not say
[45:16]there is not a Creator again if you're ask who is the
[45:22]lord of the heavens and the Earth they will say Allah but
[45:24]the only thing they will say or what the qur said and
[45:29]what many of us say is that I believe there is a
[45:32]God but I don't believe he should tell me what to do
[45:34]I can do what I want this is what the qures used
[45:37]to say so they knew it was Allah all three questions say
[45:43]Allah by the way okay right let's go and he said but
[45:46]you believe there is a Creator but when we give you the
[45:53]truth you don't believe and then he said says about those who
[45:58]say Allah took a son to himself ay 92 says and finally
[46:06]it's not finally it's still got a little bit left if you
[46:14]showed me what they have been threatened with then I will understand
[46:19]this is the prophet saying it let me go back the prophet
[46:23]says show me what they've been threatened with why so he could
[46:26]tell them and Allah is telling them it's going to make no
[46:29]difference at all even if you tell them what they've been threatened
[46:32]with so he says don't put me with the people who do
[46:43]okay and he's telling the prophet I don't have to show you
[46:47]you just have to look at them the way they lead their
[46:48]lives and you'll see what they have been um what they have
[46:52]been threatened with now this is an ay that you hear in
[46:57]many many majales it's so Allah is telling the prophet regardless of
[47:01]how evil they can be how bad they can be you don't
[47:07]change the way you are you will still be good to them
[47:09]so any of us who think that if somebody is bad we've
[47:12]got to be bad towards them that Ayah tells you you can't
[47:17]do that I'll give you an example of IM z abidin um
[47:19]IM Z AB was um in Medina and he was walking outside
[47:24]Medina and he sees the sky his this really looks like he
[47:28]needs some help and heom says why don't you come home I'll
[47:30]give you some food I'll give you some drink and um I'll
[47:35]give you shelter and he says you have not recognized me he
[47:38]said I have he said no you haven't I am the one
[47:43]who put the spear into your brother Ali Al Akbar you have
[47:45]not recognized me so imom said we're not in a court of
[47:50]law now right now you need food drink and shelter and I
[47:53]will give you food drink and shelter when you're in a court
[47:56]of law they will deal with you the way you are okay
[48:00]now that has a pretty strong statement to make when it comes
[48:04]here every single said this okay um these are du I seek
[48:15]Refuge from you from the evil suggestions of Shan whenever you get
[48:18]bad thoughts this is a good Ayah you could actually say just
[48:23]97 2397 even if you know the the number of the AY
[48:25]the Earth they will say a day or maybe part of a
[48:37]day so the life of the world is not what we think
[48:39]it is keep account of it we didn't even think it was
[48:46]long and they were buil you lived only a little if only
[48:52]you knew how short the life of the world was and then
[48:55]finally he he says you haven't been created in vain there's a
[48:58]beautiful um Hadith of the Prophet which says that if the god
[49:05]that created the heavens and the earth and the stars and the
[49:08]Seas and the Sun and everything else when he created you and
[49:14]me he created you and me because he thought we were important
[49:17]in that big jigsaw puzzle without us that jigo puzzle would not
[49:23]be complete so there's nobody who can say that I'm not useful
[49:25]so he says we have not created in you in vain and
[49:29]you will be returned to us at the time you're supposed to
[49:31]be returned and finally if you forget everything else about this Surah
[49:42]this is the last Ayah this is just a basic um going
[49:49]through each a very quickly however what I'd like you to keep
[49:54]in mind is number one is Surah number 23 number one number
[50:04]two is a noun so you know it starts off with definitely
[50:07]no doubt about it it's a done deal that those who are
[50:12]M are successful then you go through a tick box now I've
[50:15]put down 12 you've got in your in your books you've got
[50:19]six and then you've got another seven but I've put two together
[50:21]so let's go through those again that's a tick box okay you've
[50:24]got them written down there now number one they are in awe
[50:28]by the way I picked that out from near my desk I
[50:32]keep it near me so I can see it all the time
[50:36]they keep away from unbeneficial activity something that's not benefiting them they
[50:41]don't go down down that road they do zaka they give zaka
[50:44]as well but they do zaka they're constantly correcting themselves for there
[50:48]is a decency in them they have a decency they they are
[50:53]mindful of their behavior their intimate Behavior they're trustworthy they protect their
[51:00]Salah they're God conscious they believe in his signs they don't associate
[51:05]with him they are they are charitable and they're rised towards good
[51:10]deeds and finally they're certain to their return to their creator so
[51:14]these are the the the tick boxes what I what you and
[51:19]I don't want to go is the two qualities one to deny
[51:22]Divine guidance and two to deny a accountability so deny coming back
[51:30]again or deny the those are the two things you and I
[51:32]don't want when I say deny Divine guidance in these are people
[51:38]who mocked the prophet these are people who mocked the Quran so
[51:42]I'm going to go a little bit of a step further I'm
[51:46]a ker I say this all the time and I love being
[51:50]a ker but I have a trait in me and my trait
[51:55]is and and I could read Quran from one page to the
[51:57]other and it wouldn't bother me at all and I'd think I'm
[52:01]doing a good deed I don't know about you but when somebody
[52:03]dies we pick up the Quran if you look around the room
[52:08]you have a small room we have massive rooms right you look
[52:11]around the room very few people's lips even move yet Quran has
[52:17]to be read as an audible whisper so that you hear what
[52:20]you are listening to and you're able to understand it if I
[52:26]don't understand a book which says this book no doubt in it
[52:30]is a guide for those who are God conscious then I am
[52:32]definitely not doing something right I am mocking the book okay quote
[52:38]me if you want I'm 65 it doesn't bother me at all
[52:43]what does bother me is that the book is supposed to be
[52:45]understood it really needs to be understood so again think about it
[52:52]close your eyes Surah number 23 it's a maky Surah there's a
[52:56]lot of things that are repeated but the only thing you can
[53:00]then go into each Ayah we went very quickly into it that
[53:02]it gives you tick boxes it gives you 12 or 13 qualities
[53:06]of who a mmin is it tells you those who don't believe
[53:08]are those who deny resurrection and those who deny Divine guidance and
[53:11]then it gives you a Dua for forgiveness at the end because
[53:15]it tells you we can always go back there's no such thing
[53:20]as I am lost with Allah you can always go back and
[53:22]get to the right place are we good you're good with okay
[53:26]you've got six sections here you can go through them later on
[53:30]and have a look okay right next one Surah zumar phenomenal Surah
[53:38]difficult but phenomenal 75 ayat Surah number 139 like I said the
[53:45]reason why you and I are here is because we want to
[53:46]be and we want to zoom to jna okay the Ayah talks
[53:51]about zooming to to jahanam as well so let's talk about jna
[53:57]and we'll go there so let's go to 39 okay so if
[54:06]you look at s to and you've got them in your books
[54:10]by the way you should have it [Music] somewhere so Zoomer is
[54:22]actually categorization so there's categories that's what Zoomer actually means so if
[54:24]somebody says what does Zumer mean I know we've put it down
[54:30]as companions but it's a category of people Zumer also is like
[54:33]a checklist like M Minon it gives you these checklists of people
[54:38]of what is right and what is wrong and it it intermingles
[54:39]both of them that's why you'll see that the two sections we've
[54:42]got section two and section six it's sort of half half because
[54:47]it sort of mix them mixes them together so there are six
[54:50]sections to this Surah okay so categorization and it you want want
[54:57]to zoom to jna Companions of jna and it's also known as
[55:00]comes in ayat 20 G actually means pen houses you know in
[55:06]Gujarati and U we say gura like up there right G actually
[55:09]means a penthouse so it's known as because it's a high living
[55:16]place in jna everybody wants to live in a um in an
[55:19]apartment that is high up and then they want to see they
[55:23]want a swimming pool up there and they want I don't know
[55:25]whatever you want it's all there so that's a 20 Z the
[55:30]Zumer is known as that as well we've divided it into like
[55:34]like you've got here six sections okay so let's go over it
[55:37]very quickly so we know what it's all about here we go
[55:41]um again it's a contrast just like Sur is Zuma refers to
[55:48]categories as you know that I've put gur there as well let's
[55:52]go over it so if you look at the first section and
[55:56]the first section is Ayah 1 to4 it is focusing on sincerity
[56:03]in worship okay so I'm going to go very quickly over it
[56:06]this is a book and it says the book it's a it's
[56:17]a sentence you hear all the time about so m is basically
[56:25]telling me that there are two ways of looking at any I
[56:28]that you and I do there is a physical methodology of looking
[56:33]at it which is the physical face of it and then there
[56:35]is an interior of that Sal of that of that particular um
[56:40]uh worship as well so Salah will have an exterior and Salah
[56:44]will have an interior about as well this is talking about sincerity
[56:49]in both again I repeat there cannot be a sincerity in anything
[56:51]you and I do if you and I don't understand it so
[56:55]there has to be a level of understanding um there we go
[57:02]now he says Allah for him is a Dean that is that's
[57:16]got in it that's not done because what somebody else is saying
[57:21]that's not done because of what's happening around me it's done because
[57:25]it comes right from inside okay I won't go into the whole
[57:27]thing because I need to get to where I want to again
[57:30]he talks about those who say Allah took a son to him
[57:35]so that basically takes you Ayah 1 to4 now you will look
[57:37]at the different sections about what he's talking about good and bad
[57:41]now he says he created the Heaven and the Earth in truth
[57:46]make the night cover the day you will see so many references
[57:48]to the Heaven and the earth and the night and the day
[57:53]but always when you want to understand an Ayah look at the
[57:56]that go with it can you see that tells me he's Mighty
[58:06]tells me that he forgives again and again and again there are
[58:12]four names of Allah and I gave you a sheet as well
[58:13]which had as husna on it there are four names of Allah
[58:17]that refer to forgiveness and a you've got it up there right
[58:25]14 is GA 34 is gaur 80 is and AFU is 82
[58:33]okay so here when you look at it he's telling you that
[58:38]just like the day and the night alternate when you do something
[58:41]wrong and you do right and wrong and right and you ask
[58:46]for forgiveness again and again I am always here to forgive you
[58:51]okay next one then he talks about creation he created do with
[58:56]triple Darkness all all of us know about the amniotic sack and
[59:00]the womb and all the rest of it so he's talking about
[59:04]creation there and then he says one of the names of Allah
[59:12]is if you cover up the truth about him it's not going
[59:17]to make any difference to him he's and then he says when
[59:25]the human being is Afflicted with something that is difficult you will
[59:30]see he will call Allah again and again and again and the
[59:36]moment these difficulty is averted he forgets all the amals that were
[59:40]there yes no okay fine ay n so now he's giving you
[59:47]a comparison he says here he talks about the person who calls
[59:52]Allah only when he's in difficulty now he contrasts it to a
[59:57]person who the one who is consistent with his duas who is
[60:06]consistent with his s and hisam and he's always worried about the
[60:11]and he always wants the rahma of his R and most of
[60:16]the time in every mjus or many mjes you will hear this
[60:23]Ayah I don't know whether you've heard it before but you will
[60:28]hear it in many mauses are those who know equal to those
[60:30]who don't know sadly people like me will not quote the whole
[60:36]Ayah because the whole Ayah is telling me are those who are
[60:39]sure about the equal to those who are not sure about the
[60:46]the knowledge here is about the AK by the way okay now
[60:48]he says that's the order he gives you and me just be
[60:58]God conscious that's all you need if you know you're being watched
[61:03]um I'm not sure about you but if you know you're being
[61:09]recorded like I am right now you're very mindful about what you
[61:13]say and then when you're not being recorded what do you do
[61:17]is it the same behavior or not again I will give you
[61:20]a story which will make you understand this ay about tawa there
[61:23]was a man who used to go to the mosque every morning
[61:26]to pray Salah and one morning it was raining outside so when
[61:30]he went to pray there wasn't anybody there except himself so he
[61:34]prayed Salat f as soon as he finished he heard a noise
[61:38]and he thought somebody had walked in so he read his Dua
[61:42]really slowly loudly and slowly and using a lot of time when
[61:47]he looked back it was a dog who had walked in to
[61:49]get Shelter From The Rain okay so when I do something I
[61:54]got to know he's watching me all the time time okay we
[62:00]talked about that's what the prophet said he was told to do
[62:06]and I have been told that I have to submit this is
[62:11]the prophet talking by the way okay even if I the prophet
[62:21]said even I fear the day of okay I serve I'm always
[62:28]sincere this is talking about you and me to be like that
[62:30]now here it says he says the losers on the day of
[62:43]are those who will not only divert themselves to loss but their
[62:51]families as well okay example I sat on the dinner table and
[62:55]I start talking about someone my family has not got a choice
[62:59]but to hear the stuff that I say so I'm dragging them
[63:02]down with me this is what happens I don't even want to
[63:09]say it because it scares me it doesn't even say a agitation
[63:16]of fire it says different shades I don't know where coverings come
[63:19]from but is different shades of fire depending on what I said
[63:27]or what I do and then he says those who keep away
[63:30]from T I'd like to just go over that meaning for a
[63:35]minute most of the time as um we've taken this translation from
[63:41]a known translation but please don't read Idol as something that you
[63:46]see that has no life in it that is known as Sonam
[63:53]you know that yes okay go back to story so there's this
[63:55]guy who is sitting in front of a statue called Sonam and
[64:00]he says yam yaam yaam and as his eyes closed he says
[64:04]and Allah says and Prophet M says Allah I wasn't calling you
[64:09]that was a mistake and Allah says even if somebody call me
[64:14]by mistake with summ I will answer that's just a byproduct has
[64:21]two qualities okay has to be living and a must have author
[64:25]authority over you I repeat again is not something inanimate Sonam is
[64:34]inanimate is somebody that has to be living it has to be
[64:39]able to communicate with you and it has to have authority on
[64:41]you so Allah says they're quite difficult to keep away from but
[64:47]if you keep away from them then you have good news to
[64:52]those who believe okay um let's go back okay so they don't
[65:02]listen to the but they listen to the Quran they're the ones
[65:09]who follow the best from it and they're the ones whom we
[65:12]guide so going back to the quality of one who is a
[65:19]m or one who will be a Zoomer who will Zoom to
[65:24]jna is one who listens to the Quran and not to the
[65:27]I could give lots of examples but I'm sure you're all intelligent
[65:33]enough to know what I'm saying okay all right then he says
[65:36]now he goes back but can you save the person who's listening
[65:46]to you can't you can't pull them out they're not going to
[65:50]listen to you they're going to be in agitation all the while
[65:52]then he goes back again and he says those who are this
[65:55]is the AY I'm talking about can you see that so those
[66:04]who listen to the communication of their Rob which is the Quran
[66:08]and they don't listen to they will have these pen houses there
[66:11]will be Rivers flowing there and Allah always keeps his promises okay
[66:19]Ayah 21 he talks about the Earth and he says look even
[66:26]even when things are broken which you see in Autumn they will
[66:29]come back and he says up it is a sign for people
[66:37]who think if you and I thought about the changing seasons we
[66:40]would know what Allah is capable of okay now he goes back
[66:47]again he says um is like when you come home I don't
[66:58]know about you but you and I may go on holidays and
[67:02]when we go on holidays we could stay in the best hotels
[67:07]of the world or we could go in the best places of
[67:08]the world where it doesn't rain like this it's not gray like
[67:13]this and there's a lot of sun yet when you come home
[67:17]and it could be a Hut you're coming to you say I
[67:19]have come home that is Shah so he says these people when
[67:28]they hear anything about the Quran when they hear anything about Islam
[67:33]when they hear anything about Allah they feel at home that's how
[67:39]they feel there is a light in there is a light in
[67:41]their heart every time they hear something like that there are people
[67:44]will tell you um reading Quran gives me a bit of abuk
[67:49]you know what abuk means right I just feel a bit agitated
[67:51]because I don't know what I'm reading and there'll be people who
[67:56]say say it gives me a lot of Peace So it's entirely
[67:57]up to you how you feel about that he says if their
[68:02]hards a heart they will not feel at home with this at
[68:05]all again he says he gives an example of those who are
[68:18]worried about and then those who are not and then he tells
[68:24]what they do they rejected prophets and the punishment comes from where
[68:28]they didn't even think about Allah T gives them disgrace in the
[68:33]life of the world and the punishment of the Hereafter is greater
[68:37]he says if only they knew now he says in this Quran
[68:41]and again you listen to this in many moales he says in
[68:44]this Quran we have given you examples of every sort of human
[68:48]being so if you and I want to have a look at
[68:51]this we have to look at the Quran or look at me
[68:52]if I want to look at me there is a reflection of
[68:56]me somewhere there give you an example every day you recite fa
[68:59]right and inah Fa you say then there's an answer from Allah
[69:13]so I said guide me on the right path he said go
[69:18]on the path of Those whom I have blessed not those on
[69:22]whom there is anger and not those who are lost so I
[69:24]ask him who is lost who is the person on whom there
[69:28]is anger and who is the person who is blessed and he
[69:33]says read the rest of my Quran so if you read the
[69:35]Quran you will find somewhere where your example will be there your
[69:39]and mine will be there and I say your talking about me
[69:40]too so my example will be there and I'll be able to
[69:45]follow it that's what the saah is trying to say now this
[69:49]gives you qualities of the Quran the Quran is in Arabic the
[69:54]imin it is not difficult it is not complicated and it will
[70:01]show you how to be God conscious everybody says the Quran is
[70:06]difficult I'll refer you back to your map right at the top
[70:10]Surah we did this before right he says we have made the
[70:16]Quran easy for anyone who is willing to put in a tiny
[70:20]bit of effort a really tiny bit of effort that's all that
[70:25]is required then he gives you an example Quran is full of
[70:28]examples by the way so when I read this he said oh
[70:32]my goodness what is he talking about he gives you the example
[70:39]of a slave a slave who has multiple Masters and then he
[70:43]says there is a slave who is owned only by one man
[70:47]and he says think about it if I had different Masters say
[70:58]for example you worked in a company where there were I don't
[71:02]know five directors two directors forget about five two and both directors
[71:06]you were their CFO or you were their whatever you were both
[71:09]directors gave you different instructions one said I want this now and
[71:14]the other one said I want this now you're confused you don't
[71:18]know who to follow because both have equal Authority who do you
[71:22]follow so when one says why didn't you do for you said
[71:25]but he said I should this why did you follow him and
[71:27]why didn't you follow me am I less important than him so
[71:30]on and so forth that's the example he's giving you so he
[71:32]says just think about it if you have one that you follow
[71:37]then you don't have to worry about anybody else so the idea
[71:39]to me and you here is Zummer that you and I have
[71:46]one Master One Allah everybody else comes after him okay all right
[71:54]you will die you will definitely die nobody's going to stay alive
[72:01]forever and you will go back to him and you will go
[72:08]back on the day of and you will say well this was
[72:11]my master but these people told me about things to do as
[72:13]well um I'm not sure about you but many times in life
[72:18]we tend to take people as our masters so more worried about
[72:24]what will get said than what Allah says this is what he's
[72:26]trying to say you will contend with them and you'll say why
[72:30]did you do this sorry where am I there we go um
[72:33]for who is more unjust than one who gives who lies about
[72:38]Allah being his master the only one who is God conscious is
[72:47]the one who accepts the truth they will have whatever they wish
[72:54]they are this is and Allah will do away this is the
[72:59]beautiful part of this Ayah which says there is nobody anywhere here
[73:15]who will say that I don't want Allah to take away that
[73:17]which is wrong with me he says the moment you do that
[73:24]the moment you do that as in the truth of him being
[73:29]your master not only will he give you what you want he
[73:33]will take away that which you did that wasn't right Ayah 36
[73:38]am I not enough for you he says why are you scared
[73:48]of people other than him if you follow the guidance of the
[73:58]Quran there is nobody who can take you away from it sorry
[74:01]this is this goes over each other and if you were to
[74:06]ask them again we go to what we saw in M if
[74:09]you ask them who created the heavens and the Earth they will
[74:12]say Allah now maybe you know this Ayah can you see that
[74:20]last bit there maybe you say were killed you say that that's
[74:27]when you're really frightened when you're really stuck in life you say
[74:31]that they say Allah is sufficient for me he goes back and
[74:33]forth to each person by the way he says I am Amil
[74:38]I am a worker too I work really hard so you can't
[74:41]just say that things are going to come easy to me you're
[74:43]going to have to work hard too then it goes back to
[74:49]those who are being uh who are being punished or disgraced and
[74:52]then you come to to this part where he says we revealed
[74:58]to you this book for the truth so you will be able
[75:00]to see the truth and follow the right way I repeat again
[75:05]this book is something that you and I need to really get
[75:08]to know not just par and and so aah 41 tells you
[75:13]that now we come to Ayah um section three and section three
[75:18]is only one Ayah okay I'm going to go over this a
[75:20]little bit so we understand it he says Allah Allah takes away
[75:32]anus your breath when you die and even during your sleep he
[75:44]takes you away so there's two types of breath there's a physical
[75:47]breath your nus is known as breath there's a physical breathing and
[75:51]there's a breathing of the NS when you and I die both
[75:57]the physical and the breathing of the nvs is taken away for
[75:59]that moment of time when we go to sleep the breathing of
[76:03]the NS is taken away if you think for a minute do
[76:05]you know where you are when you're sleeping no you don't and
[76:12]that's what he's saying he's saying sleep and death are sisters and
[76:16]he says he takes your souls to him every time you go
[76:22]to sleep and then if he thinks that he wants to send
[76:24]it back he will send it back so there's a going back
[76:29]and forth of the Soul until a given time that is why
[76:32]every morning when you wake up you're supposed to say thank you
[76:39]for life that is why every time you go to sleep you're
[76:43]supposed to say this is from the Dua of which you read
[76:47]in um I think you read on the 23rd of Ramadan du
[76:55]oh Allah if you're going to end my term with this sleep
[77:00]then end it with a complete eraser of my sins I repeat
[77:05]again I think we did some cards for that matter as well
[77:09]so here he says this is thing for people to reflect do
[77:13]you know where you are when you die do you know where
[77:14]you are when you sleep he says I take you back to
[77:19]me right section four so if you look at your section four
[77:24]those who deny um who think they're self-sufficient so they deny they
[77:30]deny accountability completely now why do they deny accountability because they take
[77:37]other people besides Allah as those who will help them through so
[77:42]their their other connections are more important than Allah is that's number
[77:47]one he says his is the interet intercession alone then he says
[77:53]these people When you mention majalis or Quran or Salah or anything
[77:58]to them about Allah their hearts shrink but if you talk to
[78:06]them about sports or politics or movies or they are joyful you
[78:09]tell them about a and say oh God not again really but
[78:14]the moment you talk about something else their hearts are joyful so
[78:19]now he's giving examples of who they are than he says do
[78:23]you know who I am I am the originator of the Heaven
[78:27]and the earth and the knower of the seen and the Unseen
[78:29]and I will judge um I continually say one judge position taken
[78:34]when it's free we will all apply but at the moment he's
[78:38]got this position then he talks about those who are unjust he
[78:40]says you want to see their behaviors he said if they are
[78:48]confronted with a difficulty you will see that if they owned two
[78:52]times the Earth that means they have two times the Treasures of
[79:01]the earth even for the slightest difficulty they will exchange both of
[79:06]those they will even give up you and me if we were
[79:11]their relations or we were related to them in exchange for their
[79:14]freedom are you good okay so that's one quality they have hold
[79:21]on and then he says and it'll be plain to them the
[79:29]evil that they've done when harm comes and we take the harm
[79:36]away this is the second quality when we take the harm away
[79:38]they say God didn't take it away we did this ourselves from
[79:44]our knowledge I give you an example last year I spent a
[79:45]great deal of time in hospital because one of my relations had
[79:51]a particular type of cancer where she um was intubated so she's
[79:56]intubated for about six to six to 8 weeks now because I've
[79:58]been talking about her it it's all come back so one particular
[80:06]night I remember this particular um oncologist he said you have to
[80:14]prepare the family for um for the worst because there's no movement
[80:18]she's incubated the there's no brain activity all the rest of it
[80:27]I'm just giving an example of this so I said I can't
[80:29]do that because my husband had always taught me that when somebody
[80:35]has even a moment of life in them that is worth a
[80:37]lot so she was still just she's still in the in in
[80:41]in the ventilator and the ventilator wasn't breathing 900% it was about
[80:44]60% so there was still some life in her and I remember
[80:50]standing there with him and he said but I have rational ity
[80:53]I have rational medical um how should I put it knowledge and
[81:01]therefore I know that there's not much left here and I said
[81:08]I have irrationality which is my belief that she will get up
[81:15]so he said I was delusional anyway as the days went forward
[81:20]she did get up in fact she's gone for zarat now okay
[81:24]so as far as I'm concerned here and he was right in
[81:31]his own way but he dedicated everything to knowledge there is daah
[81:38]and Dua so these people here will say if something is if
[81:42]something is taken away that it's only knowledge that made it possible
[81:50]while you and I will say da and Dua are you are
[81:52]you with me yes okay just trying to make this a bit
[81:57]clear that one of the qualities is they will not look at
[82:02]the faith side at all okay however there was another oncologist who
[82:05]was a who was one of our people who actually believed that
[82:08]Dua would work anyway that's a different story Al together so um
[82:19]people before that have said this as well that it's only our
[82:24]knowledge that works and he said it didn't work for them at
[82:26]all just look at history and it will tell you it talks
[82:30]about those who were unjust and how evil befell them they didn't
[82:34]believe in any um anything at all now this is what the
[82:39]prophet said he would not exchange for the world and everything in
[82:42]it if you forget everything about today this is one a you
[82:46]cannot forget him so those people relied only on their knowledge these
[82:58]people when they were in trouble when they felt they had wasted
[83:01]time when they had wasted their souls when things were difficult Allah
[83:05]tell they they turned to Allah and they say we've got nothing
[83:12]we're really bad we've done really bad he says don't you dare
[83:19]despair in the mercy of Allah there is nobody who's too far
[83:23]gone with Allah there is nobody who has done so much wrong
[83:28]that they cannot be saved with Allah therefore the prophet said this
[83:31]Ayah if you gave me the Treasures of the world and the
[83:37]heavens I would not exchange it for that Allah forgives all sins
[83:48]and I told you that the last whenever you have the as
[83:52]they tell you the AY is about I told you which is
[83:57]number 14 is where Allah forgives again and again and again is
[84:01]that sin which you have deep inside your soul but you cannot
[84:07]even tell anyone and it really hurts you he will forgive he
[84:11]says therefore um by extension I cannot judge about anybody else I
[84:19]cannot say but she did this and he did this therefore uh
[84:21]there you know unsavable there's nothing like that so I repeat again
[84:35]that's why you and I are told whenever you have free time
[84:40]and I free time all the time and then he says means
[84:47]again and again and again and again turn to your R just
[84:52]go back again again and again and again he's the only one
[84:54]who will not time and time just go back to him submit
[85:00]to him before you are punished at that time you won't be
[85:08]helped so even at the point of death if you remember to
[85:12]say but that will only come if there's a habit of saying
[85:17]it again and again and again then he says become follow what
[85:24]has been sent to you as the best from your Rob or
[85:28]that which is the most excellent and implemented in other words it's
[85:33]talking about the Quran and you won't even perceive it you follow
[85:38]the Quran it's never going to happen to you so that's basically
[85:43]53 to 55 which takes you to section five we now come
[85:46]to the last section it's a bit of a it's a bit
[85:51]of a scary section okay so we're going to look at a
[85:56]56 these are people who took everything as a joke so means
[86:10]a joke we all know of people who can make a joke
[86:14]out of anything so these people took Life as a joke okay
[86:19]so he says they never took life seriously and look at their
[86:23]excuse they said you know what if God had guided me then
[86:28]I would have been a mut this is the predestination lot nothing
[86:31]to do with me you know there a Swahili saying where you
[86:36]when you told told people why they drink they say not our
[86:39]fault God made us drink okay so here he's saying there excuses
[86:45]that if God guided me i' be okay and then they changed
[86:50]their mind so when they see the punishment now which is in
[86:53]front of them they say now let me change my mind now
[86:58]they say just send me back and I will do something good
[87:04]so this sort of alludes to the fact that this may be
[87:08]talking about at the point of death he says no our signs
[87:14]came to you our book came to you you rejected it and
[87:20]you were really proud you said I don't believe in it any
[87:22]of this nonsense and on the day of judgment you will see
[87:27]them and always when in the Quran you say you see black
[87:32]does not mean black is in color of skin if you take
[87:37]colors if you if you kids do this all the time on
[87:41]a circle they draw different colors and then they pull the string
[87:45]and it becomes white lots of colors lead to White a lack
[87:48]of color leads to Black so they have no color in their
[87:53]lives at all nothing they have nothing that can color another person's
[87:56]life that's why he says a person in the Quran that is
[88:02]referred to as as their face will be blackened means that they
[88:07]were so selfish they could see nothing but themselves they wouldn't be
[88:12]able to bring color into anybody else's life and they were very
[88:17]arrogant obviously and that's why jahanam is made for them and then
[88:21]he goes back he says those who are evil will not touch
[88:27]them they will never be sad as well and then he talks
[88:34]about him being the creator of everything he has the Treasures of
[88:41]the heavens and the Earth nobody else has them those who don't
[88:45]believe in it are in um are in loss and he says
