[0:09]bismillah r-rahman r-rahim al-hamdu lillahi rabbil alameen wa sallahu wa salam o
[0:18]allah sayidina wa mawlana I will awesome in Mustafar Mohammad Hamid from
[0:26]Allah elevated by a beam of paranal math so mean lastima the
[0:33]Fiat in la lraa Dean Rui were wahala mineral feeder rubbish Arles
[0:38]Audrey we are certainly a Marie what looked at a mainly sunny
[0:41]yes Tahoe Olli so first of all residence this is a great
[0:47]pleasure to finally be here and I apologize for being late I
[0:49]really hate it when other people are late and especially when it's
[0:54]blamed on muslim tank so I'm half an hour late so I'm
[0:57]bad example but Salah next time the topic tonight in sha Allah
[1:04]will be about Islamic a flock and self building now many of
[1:07]us have heard before the words being thrown around words like Arif
[1:13]on words like self building self purification test Kia and all these
[1:18]are very very important especially with the goal that you and I
[1:21]have in mind what we're trying to do brothers and sisters is
[1:24]to prepare ourselves for the return of the Imam of the time
[1:29]we want to be those people who are deserving of his presence
[1:32]and we know that means we have to dig deep inside we
[1:37]have to recognize sometimes mistakes sometimes we have to change certain behaviors
[1:41]in order to become worthy of our Imam so what we're going
[1:45]to be doing in this brief talk with me to cover some
[1:52]fundamental concepts and hopefully to clarify certain misconceptions so that our self
[1:56]building will be on the right track we'll be moving in the
[2:01]correct direction and hopefully what's said and what's heard tonight is something
[2:06]that's pleasing to the Imam of the time but first please send
[2:09]us Allah what Allah Muhammad were all in common I'd like to
[2:19]start off with a story there was a group of people quran
[2:26]mentions these individuals were very concerned about self building being pure staying
[2:30]away from sin getting close to God but these people made a
[2:38]fundamental error what did these people do wrong we want to find
[2:41]out what they did wrong and then sha Allah move in the
[2:45]right direction what they did was in order to be pure in
[2:46]order to be holy in order to prepare themselves to receives God's
[2:53]blessings they thought the solution was to withdraw from society to leave
[3:00]society people what they're doing and so many sins Hiba backbiting Muharram
[3:05]Muharram will stop ourselves from all of that we'll go off into
[3:10]the hills these individuals these are some monks from a Christian background
[3:14]and the Quran tells us their story and it tells us that
[3:20]they invented this concept of being a monk of withdrawing themselves from
[3:25]society the Quran surah 57 and verse number 27 Allah says this
[3:30]are all the village min ash-shaytaan-i'r rajeem what a Hibernia abbot olha
[3:34]when it came to being a monk the monastic lifestyle withdrawing from
[3:40]society there ohhohh it was a bid it was an innovation market
[3:46]up now Holly him we did not God says we did not
[3:51]write that for them we did not ordain that for them that
[3:54]wasn't part of their mission in Islam brothers and sisters taqwa is
[4:04]very different taqwa is not a means of escaping we don't get
[4:07]to escape as Muslims as Muslims we have a responsibility being an
[4:12]informed Muslim and aware Muslim working for the Imam of the time
[4:16]means that definitely we have a responsibility and there is no escaping
[4:19]that there is known for the proper Muslim the real Muslim I
[4:24]want to save myself from sim so let me stay away from
[4:28]those people who are committing sins and then I'll be safe no
[4:31]actually it's a little different so I want you to give you
[4:36]an example I'll give you two examples let's say there was an
[4:39]area which was contaminated people had some sort of a contagious disease
[4:43]there was a plague right there was a plate and some of
[4:48]the individuals when they heard about that they said well look let's
[4:50]stay away from that we don't want to get caught up in
[4:52]that we don't want to get the disease maybe we'll die we'll
[4:56]stay away from that that's one set of people there's another set
[4:59]of people who go and put on a hazmat suit right they
[5:03]have protection they'll go in there they see other people are suffering
[5:07]or struggling or dying they're in the plague they put on their
[5:09]suit they rush in there and they start rescuing those people were
[5:13]suffering the way Islam wants us to think about Papua is that
[5:19]way top WA is that armor that gear that we put on
[5:24]that body armor that suit that we put on that enables us
[5:26]to go into the area where other people are suffering and to
[5:31]save those individuals to rescue those individuals right so God's expectation from
[5:35]us we're talking about self building having taqwa acquiring those wonderful traits
[5:40]preparing for the Imam of the time it never means there's escape
[5:44]rather taqwa is that armor so then now that we've talked about
[5:51]toc1 this way do we define taqwa as armor something that prepares
[5:53]the mountain men or mom enough to be able to go into
[5:57]an area and rescue other believers it's easy to see why that
[6:01]kind of taqwa in the Quran it's a preliminary for victory I'm
[6:05]going to show the verse of the Quran when you look at
[6:09]the verses of the Quran instead of the idea of the moat
[6:13]men being someone who withdraws themselves so terrified of the outside world
[6:16]I have to stay away from these people otherwise they'll bring me
[6:20]into hell the movement is strong it's a positive concept the believer
[6:23]is strong arms himself or herself goes in and rescues others as
[6:28]supposed to those believers who lose their identity they forget their values
[6:34]forget their religion they live a two a double-faced or a two-faced
[6:40]life one lifestyle inside the community one lifestyle at the sinner and
[6:45]then on the streets you wouldn't even recognize that movement in the
[6:50]workplace sometimes it happens I know notice sometimes for some individuals there
[6:55]I'm from dear boy there's a lot of money and I'm hamdulillah
[6:59]over there in Dearborn for some individuals they're not used to someone
[7:04]who's african-american being Muslim or being Shia so I come into the
[7:07]store or the gas station or place I say so I wanna
[7:15]make up they're so shocked hi good they're so used to that
[7:19]lifestyle with others right now you see when they see a Walkman
[7:24]of course so we don't want to be like that now let's
[7:25]look at the verse of the Quran what does the Quran say
[7:29]about chocolate says surah 2 verse number 189 what the coal law
[7:33]have taqwa of Allah the God wary why Lana come to flip
[7:40]hoon maybe you'll be successful maybe you'll prosper so taqwa the proper
[7:47]positive outlet ports taqwa is a mocker Dharma and a preliminary for
[7:54]victory now what are we afraid of the Quran also tells us
[7:57]that why is it that the movement would be so careful his
[8:00]self or herself why would they be so careful well what's out
[8:04]there what happens if I don't have taqwa the Quran tells us
[8:10]what tapenade and letty or a dead little carefully prepare yourselves or
[8:15]beware guard yourselves from that fire which has prepared been prepared for
[8:21]those who reject faith so the believer of the moment or what
[8:25]Mina wants to be very careful about that another concept now a
[8:28]fundamental concept a very important for self building if the we lay
[8:35]down the basis properly the building that will be erected on that
[8:38]basis is going to be proper the self building that comes out
[8:40]after that correct understanding is definitely gonna be better than self building
[8:45]that comes with flawed fundamental concepts I want to talk about a
[8:52]Miskin action that exists and brother sister Sharla you and I will
[8:57]we'll look at these verses and see if we see any difference
[9:00]between the Quranic perspective what we see in the verses of the
[9:04]Quran as a fir as opposed to the superficial understanding that many
[9:11]may have there's a verse of Quran this one surah 3 verse
[9:15]number 1 d2 132 and look at how God speaks to us
[9:23]how God addressed us he says la ilaha arti Allah o Allah
[9:28]obey Allah what are assume and obey the messenger la tour Harun
[9:34]happily you will be shown mercy maybe you'll be shown mercy obey
[9:42]Allah and the messenger maybe you'll be shown mercy now before we
[9:46]get into this part of the earth and the direct relationship between
[9:49]this and the coming of the Imam and that self purification let's
[9:53]look at this verse of for a second but I'd like to
[9:55]ask questions brothers and sisters the time when we build our faith
[10:02]when our Iman actually increases is when we go over the verses
[10:04]of the Quran but not just read over the verses of the
[10:10]Quran rather you and I ponder you and I this is a
[10:12]lama Tabata by aloud mercy on him Ayatollah Muharram shirazi Allah of
[10:16]Mercia so many of our great allama MOFA sitting they've done great
[10:21]work I'm not negating that alhamdulillah read that but if you and
[10:25]I want to grow our faith then you and I have to
[10:30]refer to God's book ourselves and ponder and think about the verses
[10:34]yes we get help from the tough Asir but growing the faith
[10:37]means you and I that personal relationship looking at the Quran and
[10:40]pondering question in this particular verse it said obey Allah and or
[10:49]assume maybe you'll be shown mercy happily you'll be shown mercy question
[10:55]why would God mention obey Allah and the Rasul is there any
[11:01]difference between obedience to Allah and obedience to Russell is it redundant
[11:06]for God to say that did it slip God's mind and God
[11:10]was all we just put that in there or is there a
[11:12]reason there's definitely a reason what happens now let's see how how
[11:19]many of us can see how this verse verse will apply to
[11:22]right now making claims is easy making claims is easy if God
[11:32]only say obey me obey Allah how many people could be claiming
[11:36]to obey God even those who are fighting against God how many
[11:45]times have you heard politicians even has become more popular recently to
[11:49]talk about their personal relationship with God is it just a question
[11:55]is it possible for someone to call themselves a servant of God
[11:59]even say that I'm doing God's work and be fighting against God
[12:05]going against God stopping the message of God from spreading when we
[12:10]look back at history you and I will see that this isn't
[12:14]a new phenomenon if you remember in the time when our prophet
[12:21]muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam when he began his mission there were
[12:28]people who had big claims who were fighting the prophet of god
[12:31]going against the prophet it's trying actively to stop the message of
[12:36]islam from going forward and they had big claims about their relationship
[12:43]to God I'm talking about at that time the time of the
[12:46]Prophet the leaders of Christianity the leaders of Judaism if you remember
[12:50]at those times they had predicted the Prophet was going to come
[12:53]what did they used to say about themselves the people who were
[12:58]actively fighting against the Prophet stopping the prophets mission the Quran says
[13:02]this about them well harlot Aliyah who'd wanna surah Nana Abner Allah
[13:09]waha ba all these people said at that time they said that
[13:13]we are the sons we're the children of God we're God's children
[13:19]and his beloved ones and at the same time they're actively fighting
[13:23]the Prophet so it's quite possible we see somebody going over this
[13:28]is the Prophet saying that he's Abdullah he's a servant of God
[13:31]this is claiming something I'm God son I'm God's chip one of
[13:36]God's children somebody making that claim and fighting against the Prophet that's
[13:41]completely possible so God needed to make it clear there needed to
[13:44]be aware of clarity for those who want to follow God want
[13:48]to be able to distinguish between the truth those people who say
[13:52]they're obeying God how do we know if they're really obeying God
[13:56]if they obey the messenger obey Allah and obey the messenger if
[14:01]somebody's doing both of those in yet that we could say yes
[14:05]this person's on the right path but if I'm disrespecting disobeying fighting
[14:10]against the representative of God then those claims are completely worthless now
[14:16]I want to mention something else too first into solo what please
[14:29]now is everybody tired you're still alive okay well hamdulillah now I
[14:37]want to share something brothers and sisters instead of us just thinking
[14:42]about a lesson that we would personally learn from these verses in
[14:46]order to do self building in order to prepare the return of
[14:50]the Imam instead of doing that let's think about ourselves as an
[14:55]Ummah right we're a nation yes we the followers of the Apple
[14:59]obeyed in this corner of the world we're trying to prepare ourselves
[15:04]do what was necessary for the Imam to return we know the
[15:06]Imam is looking at us individually right we know that but we
[15:12]also see ourselves as being part of Allah we're a nation of
[15:15]believers were all following the Prophet imagine what would happen to a
[15:20]nation if the teachings the core teachings of that nation were misconstrued
[15:26]and wrong I want to give you an example we're gonna for
[15:31]the same verse we will learn a big lesson from the verse
[15:34]let's look at the verse again what did the verse say yit
[15:43]o la Warr Rasul Toraja moon obey Allah and the messenger maybe
[15:48]la allakum happily you'll be shown mercy if you do this if
[15:52]you obey maybe you'll be shown mercy how different is this to
[16:02]the superficial concept of mercy of God the nation let's not just
[16:06]you and I right as a nation Muslims as a nation how
[16:12]different is this concept to the concept of the Quranic concept when
[16:16]it comes to God how many people do you and I know
[16:21]you and I know people who want the Imam to return who
[16:24]loves the Imam who love God love Quran but their approach towards
[16:28]religion approach towards God approach towards the mercy of God is like
[16:34]this what I'm about to describe if you ask them they say
[16:37]that I don't have many good deeds I may not have any
[16:43]good deeds I definitely I can say that I'm a sinner I'm
[16:45]violating a las laws I'm not doing what God says but you
[16:50]know what on the bottom of my heart I still have one
[16:55]hope what's your hope if you're not obeying God I'm hopeful for
[17:00]a loss mercy Allah has mercy I am hopeful for the Apple
[17:03]babe they will do shafa'a for me now look at that concept
[17:12]and how different that is to the Quranic concept the Quranic concept
[17:15]and God is a straight-shooter the Quran doesn't pull any punches God
[17:21]says do your responsibilities maybe you'll be shown mercy the other approaches
[17:27]I don't do what my duties are I'm committing this sin I'm
[17:30]doing this harm I'm doing that Quran but I've got a hope
[17:35]that God will ever see of me the opposite of the Quran
[17:37]now think about that let's say there was a whole nation like
[17:45]that and there their approach towards life was this we're sitting back
[17:49]we're waiting for God to do miracles we're waiting for the Imam
[17:52]to come the Imam will change the world for us but what
[17:55]do you do oh I don't do any of my responsibilities I
[17:57]don't do my job I violate what the Imam says I disobey
[18:05]his commands but I've got hope inshallah a lazy nation imagine that
[18:10]too the other concept there is people do each and every one
[18:15]of their let's say the nation of the Prophet was like that
[18:19]doing their responsibilities working pushing trying whatever God said all of his
[18:26]commands trying and then hoping for mercy for sure God will bless
[18:29]that nation right now it'll bless that nation but the nation where
[18:32]they don't do their responsibilities and they sit back and expect God
[18:36]to come from the heavens and he'll know it doesn't work like
[18:42]that I read a story once and Charlotte's not a true story
[18:45]they said once this guy went to the doctor he was very
[18:52]ill serious symptoms he went to the doctor with his wife came
[18:54]to the doctor and the doctor ran a series of tests on
[18:59]this young man and after he finished all of the tests the
[19:02]man stepped out of the room and his wife was talking to
[19:07]the doctor she said doc give it to me straight what needs
[19:11]to happen what's going on he said your husband's very very sick
[19:19]he's very very sick unless you're prepared to take serious measures your
[19:24]husband's not going to live she said whatever whatever it takes doctor
[19:28]just tell me what my husband needs I'll make sure it happens
[19:31]okay if you want to make sure your husband lives you have
[19:36]to follow these instructions to the teeth whatever it takes said that
[19:39]every day you need to tell your husband how much you care
[19:45]about him and you love him every day you need to cook
[19:47]him three meals a day wait on him hand and foot make
[19:52]sure he never gets any stress if he ever gets angry you
[19:54]apologize first whatever it takes she left the doctor's office and her
[20:02]husband came to I said so honey what did the doctor say
[20:08]she said you're gonna die I mean it's if you were willing
[20:10]to take the steps that Islam says right obey Allah and the
[20:17]Prophet maybe you'll be shown mercy that is a powerful concept a
[20:20]nation like that doing their responsibilities pushing every one of their responsibilities
[20:26]and then sitting and saying yes open doors for me right make
[20:30]the impossible happen for God will bless that kind of a nation
[20:33]and that group of people now something else when it comes to
[20:39]self building again we're laying down those proper foundations so that the
[20:43]self building that comes afterwards will be correct brothers and sisters and
[20:47]they explain something else that's a very serious part of Islam and
[20:51]it's one of those essentials for self building one of those building
[20:56]blocks brothers and sisters you and I when it comes to Islam
[21:00]we don't get to pick and choose we don't get to have
[21:09]our favorite parts of Islam user-friendly Islam vegetarian Islam rather every one
[21:17]of the larger bot is necessary I want to mention a verse
[21:26]the verse talks about the true lot men you and I were
[21:29]preparing for the 12th Imam it doesn't make sense for us to
[21:32]fool ourselves what is a movement like what does God want from
[21:37]us this is Quran nails now hadith the Quran explains what the
[21:41]true meaning are like and if you look at this verse later
[21:45]you look at the arabic of this verse you'll see that god
[21:47]swears by himself to start the verse off normally a lot but
[21:53]he swears by the sun or the moon right in this verse
[21:59]god swears by himself he says follow water a bit know by
[22:03]your lord what does he say he explains a concept the true
[22:08]want many and i'm read the part of the verse for you
[22:12]what are there's a true moment like I want to do south
[22:14]building I want to get ready for the Imam of the time
[22:16]I want to do my mission I want the Imam to return
[22:19]I'm doing my responsibility even in this country he says this is
[22:24]a condition what's the true momin life the true Mormon or Mormon
[22:29]is like this whenever there's a dispute between the believers right there's
[22:33]a problem that comes up you and I have an issue we
[22:38]don't like something we're unhappy there's a spute they call it mushara
[22:42]whenever there's a dispute amongst these believers they refer to the profit
[22:47]they make him the judge they have a higher authority we're gonna
[22:52]go to Islam whatever it slump says on this issue we'll make
[22:58]him the judge and then whatever the Prophet decides we accept then
[23:03]but it's more than that we're gonna be true what my name
[23:06]what's more than that what is the Quran say this is the
[23:10]tough part brothers and sisters see how many of us are mumineen
[23:13]after we read this verse from so for 65 so for for
[23:19]65 thumb my god says from large a do fee and foo
[23:26]see him Hara Jemima a date after they've gone to you prophet
[23:29]and they've made you the judge and you've decided you've given a
[23:34]decree you said Islam says Liss at that time from Malaya to
[23:39]doofy enthusiam Hara Jemima are they in themselves in their souls they
[23:45]don't find the slightest dissent the Prophet said this this is Islam
[23:51]God decided that's it what about if I'm unhappy a little bit
[23:57]in the bottom of my heart I'm unhappy it says thumb large
[24:01]I do fear and force am paradigm in Makkah date while you
[24:05]sell em OH Taslima they submit a thorough submitting if somebody has
[24:15]any part of Islam that they have a problem waste difficulty dealing
[24:19]with I don't like that Allah said and sometime it--be in the
[24:25]heart the person might build a practicing moment I want me to
[24:28]they'd never say that out loud but deep inside their heart they've
[24:30]got a little bit of a problem for low water up at
[24:34]the beginning of the verse there are not many until this there's
[24:38]not even this Slater the creator of the world spoke God spoke
[24:48]after there so next this is a game with self building very
[24:53]important for self ability brothers and sisters I want to share a
[24:58]verse with you but first there's a concept that I want to
[25:02]make sure that's clear for myself and clear for all of you
[25:04]in Islam you and I we're taught that we're the best of
[25:12]allows creation we also each one of us each one of you
[25:18]has an individual skill set right you have something unique that you
[25:22]offer to the cause to the mission there's also a sense in
[25:25]all of us that I'd like to be the best I'd like
[25:30]to compete if we've heard this is now I want to make
[25:35]a clarification tells us don't ever compete just relax take it easy
[25:43]don't push yourselves don't discover all of your talents don't go as
[25:51]far as you can that's not what religion says that's not religion
[25:54]says I want to share a verse of Quran again and then
[25:58]after that let's listen let's think about what it is that God
[26:01]said but first Allah what Allah Mohammed were all in from man
[26:08]let's not forget where we are in the discussion either we started
[26:12]off self building how do we use that taqwa in order to
[26:16]do that obedience and then expecting blessings of Allah there are results
[26:21]for taqwa which I'm gonna mention in this verse and also the
[26:26]idea of competition ambition spiritual ambition and pushing and applying ourselves let's
[26:33]look at this verse though this verse is surah 3 and it's
[26:36]verse number 133 Allah says in the Quran Wasser a roll a
[26:42]low ferritin Arabic home Sara o means to rush hasten as if
[26:50]we're racing you and I are out running one another were racing
[26:54]racing towards what la Movida tomb ela math error term Arab become
[26:58]out race or hasten out run run tour run all of you
[27:05]run towards forgiveness from your Lord what Jonathan and a paradise a
[27:12]garden although Hassan Iowa to wile out the expanse of that paradise
[27:16]that God's describing is that of the heavens and the earth or
[27:24]at that little tepee this has been prepared and set aside for
[27:28]those people who have talked walk so now let's look at the
[27:31]common concept then let's go to where we are supposed to be
[27:36]what we find is that people do compete in this world we
[27:41]know people sometimes in the workplace sometimes friends family members people who
[27:45]compete over little things in this world they were willing to stab
[27:51]one another in the back sometimes for career I want to make
[27:53]more money I want to buy that dream house I need to
[27:58]get this car right there competing I want to have this amount
[28:01]of money I want right there competing outdoing I was in Iran
[28:05]they used to have a concept they would call it kitchen honish
[28:07]me they would look at one another you're doing this I'm gonna
[28:09]do this you did I'm gonna do better than you right so
[28:13]that competition that spirit of competition is there but what what is
[28:17]Islam say as long as teaching us brothers and sisters that you
[28:23]and I our value is much more than this material world let's
[28:27]look at this as a way of how to attach ourselves or
[28:32]detach ourselves from the dunya what we learn from the quran is
[28:36]that we are the best of allah's creation the best of allows
[28:40]creation after god himself on the totem pole who xanax us when
[28:47]god describes our describe the creation he says that what he that
[28:51]he created us be a day with his two hands God doesn't
[28:56]have hacks right when he says with his two hands he means
[28:58]that so much importance he's placed on our creation that's just one
[29:03]of the verses so we're the best of Allah's creation what does
[29:07]that mean for us then if we want to have taqwa settling
[29:14]for this world competing for a piece of land a house a
[29:17]car this is beneath us we were created with this hadith Qudsi
[29:23]God says Abdi my service he says Halak till I hear only
[29:30]Agilent I made everything that's in this world for you God says
[29:34]Abdi my servant selected a Shia ugly ugly I made everything in
[29:40]this world for you well Caleb took her Lee actually I made
[29:44]you for me you're for me you're supposed to be for God
[29:51]himself so to be competing over something so happy here so tiny
[29:55]so useless so insignificant as the dunya that's the mistake not that
[30:00]God has taken away that spirit of competition the spirit of competition
[30:06]is supposed to be there but being competing to be godly out
[30:11]doing one another for the mercy of Allah chances to serve trying
[30:15]to be one of the 333 13 the best of the commands
[30:20]of the Imam that's where we're supposed to be that's where that
[30:22]that spirit of competition that's where it's supposed to be so we're
[30:27]supposed to be out racing and outdoing one another when it comes
[30:29]to that now I want to mention one last point though that
[30:34]I feel is really important for this whole discussion on self building
[30:36]and that is we said if we look at the verse of
[30:41]Quran right it said sorry or oh so we're competing with one
[30:42]another we're out running one another trying to do what for what
[30:49]it says Allah Tamara be cool for the mercy of your Lord
[30:52]right out doing one another for the mercy of your Lord trying
[30:58]to go to God himself question what is matt farah puts forgiveness
[31:02]what's what is God's expectation from us and again let's look at
[31:08]this understanding and let's look at the Quranic understanding many people when
[31:13]it comes to mercy God having mercy God showing mercy Allah our
[31:19]tomorrow I mean they have a misconception what's the misconception they do
[31:25]nothing when they're thinking about God and forgiveness they kind of think
[31:28]how you and I let's say we do something wrong I do
[31:30]something wrong to you let's say God forbid I come over I
[31:34]swear at you I mistreat you I take some of something that
[31:37]doesn't belong to me from you then when I want to ask
[31:41]for forgiveness I come over to you and I tell you that
[31:43]brother or sister you know I did the Heba I act with
[31:48]you forgive me I i wronged you i I didn't observe the
[31:55]respect that you should have had right forgive me so question is
[31:59]that what it's like with God he just go over these you
[32:07]know I've done wrong and or another example I owe taxes for
[32:10]instance I've done some crime it's up right so what I'll do
[32:16]go over apologize say a few words please forgive me and then
[32:20]that'll be it we'll call it a deal shake hands it's over
[32:26]is that how it works with God is that it is the
[32:31]way forgiveness macrophylla from your Lord that's mentioned in the Quran is
[32:35]that is it at that simple we just go over we tell
[32:38]God I'm sorry hamdulillah he said it is it is it like
[32:46]that I do - awesome I go to the arm obey I
[32:52]share Cheers humming dun dun was it something very different I want
[32:56]to share a verse now write again clarity so we know which
[33:01]direction we're moving in so we can do that self ability so
[33:03]God we learn from the verses of the Quran that Allah doesn't
[33:10]carry grudges allah subhanahu wa ta'ala doesn't carry grudges it's not the
[33:15]case that if you did a mistake you erred in your ways
[33:19]you were off of the path even for years that after that
[33:21]that's it the door is closed you can't go back to God
[33:27]that's not the way he is Allah is the most merciful it's
[33:30]the most mercy I but question who does God forgive though we're
[33:38]talking about Allah's mercy the massif era who does Allah forgive I
[33:43]lost mentions in the Quran what happens is in Islam there's a
[33:48]lot of emphasis on Islam being practical a lot of emphasis on
[33:55]our efforts the same way we're talking about a lot of mercy
[33:58]on us after we do all of our duties then we expect
[34:02]alas hope maybe God will have mercy if I've done the same
[34:05]principles over here too when I expect God's mercy it's not enough
[34:11]to just go over and just tell God well I'm sorry I've
[34:13]got to make up for what I've done I've got to have
[34:18]that heartfelt regret and I've got to make up for what I've
[34:20]got so I'll give you an example I was driving your to
[34:25]Toledo all right I'm in Dearborn or dr1 Heights right let's say
[34:30]halfway midway point I stop the car I stop the car I
[34:38]get out and I'm on the side of the road okay let
[34:42]me stop for a second when we commit sin let me make
[34:44]sure this example makes sense when we commit sin what does that
[34:50]mean the same way that we harm our physical bodies we can
[34:53]harm our physical body we can cut something to get right we
[35:00]can damage ourselves sin masya is harming our souls it's a womb
[35:05]to the soul it's stopping our soul our rule from going to
[35:11]allah subhanho wa taala from completing itself from leaving the the purpose
[35:15]of creation I've stopped myself right instead of me achieving my mission
[35:19]I stopped myself I've harmed myself I've done warm to myself in
[35:22]the verses of the Quran so now back to my example my
[35:27]purpose was to come here to look Toledo driving as fast as
[35:29]I can if I stopped on the side of the road and
[35:33]just say God I've done wrong will that get me to Toledo
[35:38]if I stop on the side of the road right sin stops
[35:42]us we're not getting to allah subhanho wa taala what do I
[35:45]have to do I have to get back in the car and
[35:48]make up for that lost time start moving in that direction then
[35:51]right so the same thing when it comes to sin God forbid
[35:59]or mistakes God does forgive right part of it is expressing those
[36:02]words having regret but then after that is action verse now this
[36:06]is from surah Taha and it's verse number 82 this is what
[36:12]God says he says what nd loves a far only man table
[36:17]so in what in the far so God says definitely I forgive
[36:20]I'm a far not free I'm very forgiving but forgiving for who
[36:27]Leeman table the person who makes koba koba means to turn back
[36:30]I'm doing an action I'm changing my direction right I'm getting back
[36:36]in that car I'm going towards God Lehmann turbo wah our mana
[36:41]and believes his faith why I'm Allah Salih Han and does good
[36:47]deeds right for my dad out and then after that is guided
[36:49]so if you look at it the verses again a very powerful
[36:54]verse dynamic the move is a nation forward towards allah subhanho wa
[36:58]taala God says I'm forgiving how far but for who the person
[37:01]who makes Toba turns back believes does good deeds and then after
[37:06]that is guided we acts that Allah accept what was said and
[37:12]heard in his way Salaam Hamid were early
