[20:57]Allah [Music] m [Music] muhamed muhamad Salam alikum brothers and sisters in
[22:18]Islam I borrowed this from this introduction uh I hope you enjoying
[22:29]uh these nights I uh person personally do I um learned from
[22:34]these last 13 or 12 uh tap sessions that if you take
[22:41]that extra step when you're reading Quran and you spend a little
[22:45]bit time and effort um diving deep into the meanings and the
[22:50]reflections of the uh aat uh you would find reading Quran more
[22:58]enjoyable personally I for example I've been reading Surah for years um
[23:03]I read it maybe hundreds of times today I was reading it
[23:08]and uh I felt a different feeling I felt like I'm enjoying
[23:11]it because I I learned a lot from the last few sessions
[23:17]and now I'm not only reading I'm reflecting so um it's it's
[23:22]really beautiful and it shows how how much um say and say
[23:27]and and every and all the scholars who uh do lectures here
[23:33]how much time and effort they put and um they make it
[23:36]look simple especially when they look at an Ayah here and try
[23:41]to explain the Ayah and then they go 50 page to another
[23:43]Surah and they get you something from that Surah that explains the
[23:47]Ayah so Subhan Allah how the Quran is is amazing but we
[23:52]need to reflect and we need to understand it so um of
[23:56]course thank you uh she and we're looking forward for inshallah say
[23:59]to come back and continue this and this is a great opportunity
[24:02]for all of us um to learn and this is also an
[24:08]opportunity for you to again support us and support this majalis because
[24:11]you know uh without your support we cannot um continue we cannot
[24:15]get a good speakers when say Salah is not here otherwise you
[24:20]have to stick with me doing lectures and of course you don't
[24:22]want this so uh um yeah your support is very uh helpful
[24:29]please we need to fill up that sheet right there with uh
[24:32]remaining nice if you did not support us yet she will be
[24:46]here for a QA uh session for uh another 30 minutes or
[24:53]so after the lecture also tomorrow our youth the brothers only have
[24:57]a and praying so um if you or your kids did not
[25:08]sign up yet please make sure they do and without further Ado
[25:13]I would like to welcome Sam with muham kept on calling me
[25:51]say but changed his mind at the last time you can go
[25:56]on I'm just kidding I don't have that privilege yet who knows
[26:27]inshallah [Music] alhamdulillah muham to hasten the reappear of our awaited IM
[27:31]I request we recite three salawat with the loudest of our voices
[27:50]respected brothers and sisters in Islam the verse that we start Ed
[28:01]with tonight is verse number 125 inah Surah number 16 according to
[28:05]the unanimous opinion of the commentators of the Holy Quran this verse
[28:11]highlights the fundamental ethical commands in order for one to follow if
[28:16]one is in the process of dawa as one is in the
[28:20]process of preaching towards the religion of Allah subhanahu wa taala the
[28:25]verse clearly indicates certain instructions that should we follow if we are
[28:29]to be embarking on a journey of preaching others preaching to others
[28:33]and inviting them to the path of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala the
[28:37]verse says invite others to the path of your lord and if
[28:43]I'm not mistaken remember that the first night we began the series
[28:46]of those lectures we began an opening night with the concept of
[28:52]Dua in the religion of Islam and the reason is because many
[28:55]of the stories that we dissected throughout the previous nights they contained
[29:00]a form of Dua done such as the Dua performed by the
[29:06]companions of the cave towards Allah subhanahu waala or such as the
[29:11]da performed from Al towards and if there's anything that we learned
[29:16]from those stories is the fact that there is a method of
[29:21]Da to be followed to every time and every place and that
[29:24]method has to be different and according and it has to match
[29:29]the minds of the people as we know for example if we
[29:31]were to reflect on the words of IM when he was in
[29:36]the court of yaid mua what did he say he said yazid
[29:40]let me speak to those people with words that will please Allah
[29:44]and will make those listeners gain thawab meaning what meaning I will
[29:48]speak on a level that those people will gain the thawab from
[29:51]listening as a result of listening to my words and at the
[29:54]same time the words would be pleasing Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and we
[29:58]also gave an example on how in his Dua towards Allah subhah
[30:03]waala he said oh Allah expand my chest and the main Dua
[30:13]that he asked Allah subhah wa tala is what is that make
[30:18]my speech more clear and we explained that very well we said
[30:20]that since he was the he's the person that speaks to Allah
[30:27]subhana tala he's used to a certain level of speech hence when
[30:29]he wanted to preach to and the people around he had to
[30:35]use a different method of of speech in order for them to
[30:37]understand them because it's so hard to be used to speaking on
[30:41]a level of having a dialogue with Allah subhana wa tala and
[30:44]then trying to preach to the people and therefore you notice that
[30:48]musam what did he do before he performed da he did Dua
[30:53]and we said that Dua comes from the word da the difference
[30:55]is what when we are doing Dua we are basically doing dawa
[31:03]to ourselves and then we do da isn't it dawa for others
[31:06]but first it has to come from Dua and therefore Allah subh
[31:10]said in the verse what he did not say he said invite
[31:17]others to the path of your lord meaning that that path is
[31:24]the path that you have already acquired you have already done da
[31:27]to yourself and found your lord who is the one responsible about
[31:31]nurturing and upbringing and thereupon when you're inviting others you're inviting to
[31:37]the path of your lord not the path of Allah and this
[31:39]puts a very heavy responsibility upon us when we are inviting others
[31:43]we look into the stories of The Messengers and the prophets of
[31:46]Allah that they use different methods of dawa indeed throughout their lives
[31:52]some of them had to even immigrate to a different people and
[31:54]how many of us for example sometimes we found that migration was
[31:58]a solution for us to protect our a or our Dean isn't
[32:02]it you find that the same thing that was the Sunnah of
[32:04]the prophets and The Messengers of Allah subhana waala our Prophet sallallahu
[32:08]alaihi Ali wasallam had to immigrate after living for 10 years in
[32:12]quray preaching to the people of quray and only a few followed
[32:18]his message yet when he went to Medina the people of Medina
[32:20]were ready to adopt the religion of Islam he found that there
[32:25]is a foundation of a people that were willing to embrace the
[32:28]dawa that he had and thereupon even the prophet sallallahu alaih Al
[32:33]wasallam taught us how to actually perform dawa you find that in
[32:37]qur wasallam did not Implement any laws within those 10 years of
[32:44]Da in qur yet the laws and the legislative Shar or the
[32:47]legislative part of Dean the Shar was revealed when upon the prophets
[32:51]migration to Medina and that really teaches us different methods of dawa
[32:57]so therefore if we ref reflect back on the story of the
[32:59]companions of the cave we notice that they tried to do da
[33:03]when Allah subhana T expressed that in the verse by saying and
[33:07]when they aroused and they said that our Lord is Allah yet
[33:12]when they could not F find a solid foundation for their Daw
[33:18]what did they do they took immigration they took a journey towards
[33:21]Allah subhanahu wa taala where even a cave was a safer Haven
[33:24]for them yet on the way what they did is what after
[33:28]preaching to a people who were civilized who were the people of
[33:31]Ephesus indeed as we mentioned before people who were civilized and advanced
[33:35]as a society yet they did not Embrace their dawa yet on
[33:40]their way a Shepherd was able to embrace their dawa and even
[33:42]join them on their Journey not only this Allah subhana wa tala
[33:48]highlights the fact that even a dog was naturally inclined to follow
[33:52]them and thereupon protect them so sometimes the effects of the words
[33:56]that you might have will not be Ive on a certain listener
[34:01]but on others yet therefore we are supposed to follow certain instructions
[34:04]when it comes to Da and what I would like to do
[34:06]tonight since we are speaking about the whole journey of that Allah
[34:13]subhana T spoke of in the Holy Quran is literally a journey
[34:18]of Da was given certain abilities as we highlighted last night in
[34:23]our lecture and thereupon he was given a task and that task
[34:26]was for him to roam around the Earth Earth conquer the Earth
[34:30]in particular and spread the message of Allah subhana wa tala Spread
[34:36]spread monotheism and be able to save other nations through spreading a
[34:40]just Islamic or a just religious system in this regard so the
[34:44]process so the the Journey of is none but a journey of
[34:48]Da of dawa of who towards Allah subhah wa taala after what
[34:52]after what we saw that possessed certain attributes in himself in order
[34:58]for him to be given that task and therefore when the questionaires
[35:00]came to Al wasallam to ask him about the story of they
[35:05]said to him tell us about a just ruler who roamed the
[35:10]Earth and conquered the Earth and he was neither a messenger nor
[35:13]a prophet of Allah subhah wa tala if anything we should understand
[35:16]from the opening of the verses of when Allah subhana says and
[35:24]they question you concerning one of the commentators of the Holy Quran
[35:31]makes a beautiful point in this regard he says that it is
[35:36]agreed upon upon the commentators of the Holy Quran and the historians
[35:38]that was neither a prophet nor a messenger of Allah subhanahu wa
[35:42]taala yet he was also a he was a true righteous worshipper
[35:48]just like Allah subh referred to as isn't it and therefore when
[35:55]Allah subhana says Muhammad say I will re relate to you an
[36:01]account of him what does that tell me that tells me that
[36:06]the ABD was on such a highgrade value that his biography is
[36:10]mentioned from Allah subhanahu wa taala isn't that interesting is that the
[36:15]fact that he was just a normal human being he was neither
[36:16]a prophet nor a messenger because we find that the biography of
[36:21]The Messengers and the prophets of Allah are documented in the Holy
[36:25]Quran yet Allah considers on such a high rank that he himself
[36:28]narrates his biography in the Holy Quran why because we did mention
[36:32]before that the story of the is not mentioned in any other
[36:36]verse in the Holy Quran except in Surah alah isn't it so
[36:39]the fact that Allah subhana T distinguishes the so much so that
[36:44]he actually mentions him in the Quran that his biography is derived
[36:48]from where from the Quran itself from the words of Allah himself
[36:52]and one commentator makes a beautiful point in this regard he says
[36:55]let your biography be a biography that pleases Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[37:03]so when people narrate it and speak of you you keep that
[37:06]Vick after a long life inshallah that your VI matches the sorry
[37:11]matches the what Allah subhanahu wa taala pleases from a human being
[37:16]and therefore Allah says meaning I Muhammad will narrate the story of
[37:22]because he was such a on a high rank such on a
[37:26]high status to the point that I his creator will tell you
[37:31]about him and therefore if we focus on the story of we
[37:34]find that it's a it's a story filled with and had to
[37:40]preach to many different nations and use different methods of Da so
[37:44]what I would like to do tonight is to further dissect the
[37:49]story of beginning with the Journey of depending on the following points
[37:53]the first one inshallah tonight will be what kind of mindset should
[38:01]one carry in the process of Da depending on the verse that
[38:04]we started with and the second that let's reflect back on the
[38:09]methods of Da that the verse mentions the one that we started
[38:12]with inah Al and the third Point inshallah Let's reflect on the
[38:18]verses of the first journey of and examine his methods of Da
[38:22]in this regard and before I proceed I would like you to
[38:25]provide me with a loud salawat Allah subhana said invite others to
[38:39]the path of your lord when he says your lord meaning that
[38:42]the mindset that we should carry in the process of Da should
[38:46]be a mindset of nurturing and upbringing because we said that the
[38:50]Lord is the Lord of nurturing and upbringing meaning what meaning that
[38:54]our mindset should also be of an elevating one therefore you find
[39:02]that through preaching the religion of Islam it is important to focus
[39:05]on the fact that a human being is supposed to elevate is
[39:08]supposed to always improve it is supposed to always strive to become
[39:12]better isn't it so the mindset that we should have it should
[39:17]be of the same process secondly is that since Allah subhana T
[39:20]said invite others to the path of path of your lord Lordi
[39:24]meaning the one who raises right and the process of upraising requires
[39:30]what requires a lot of patience in this regard isn't it see
[39:35]when you're raising a child you are patient over the child because
[39:37]they have to go through a process of elevation they're slowly escalating
[39:42]and therefore our process in terms of preaching towards others should be
[39:47]of the same exact manner is that we should be patient and
[39:51]we should be able to provide information that would be useful to
[39:55]them at a certain stage and then go higher in a second
[40:01]stage has a beautiful narration in this regard he says he says
[40:11]this religion is indeed very thick therefore enter that religion gradually and
[40:15]this is important for us to understand in this regard meaning what
[40:18]is that whether be it us or even others that we are
[40:23]inviting towards the religion of Allah subhana wa tala make sure that
[40:26]to provide them with with what is just sufficient for them in
[40:32]this regard many people that are converts to the religion of Islam
[40:35]we cannot come and present them everything at once why because they
[40:39]might Rebel they are not people who are nurtured upon the fact
[40:44]of understanding many of the laws see there's a reason for example
[40:47]why a they have for example different laws for the West they're
[40:50]a bit more lenient in this regard why because the lifestyle is
[40:54]absolutely different than the East for example example where the society is
[40:59]mostly an Islamic Society so therefore that when we invite others we
[41:05]should have that mindset we should first reach to a point that
[41:07]Allah subhana wa tala is our Lord and understand that whatever we're
[41:11]preaching to others we are inviting them to our path for example
[41:18]he had reached a level where he was given an imama a
[41:21]rulership just like we said last night about in of IM that
[41:25]they are the likeness of and therefore they had to use a
[41:28]certain method he was given that task to use that method in
[41:34]this regard he was provided with means to all things of Allah
[41:37]as Allah expressed in the Holy Quran when he says meaning that
[41:44]we provided him means for all things meaning what all things meaning
[41:48]different things he is able to act according to the time and
[41:54]the place and this is absolutely important in the process of Da
[41:57]you find that am for example if we were to compare the
[41:59]both both Journeys you find that Al used a different method with
[42:05]the method of what of performing an act which might be shocking
[42:11]and we said that on the surface the actions of alam might
[42:14]not be in coordinance with the legislation law of the of NAB
[42:21]musa's religion isn't it that on the surface it's not yet Al
[42:25]used that method but with who though with na mus Alam why
[42:28]because mus Alam is on a level of Rah he is a
[42:32]messenger of Allah subhana tala and he should understand that there are
[42:35]interpretations of actions but not every action has to be taken apparent
[42:41]isn't it and that's why for example when he created a hole
[42:44]in the ship what he wanted to teach musam is that yes
[42:49]that is considered the damage in the ship but that damage is
[42:52]what will save them from a further damage isn't it which was
[42:58]the king that was seizing every single ship that was good right
[43:01]so therefore he created that damage if you were to compare his
[43:05]actions to the actions of the his actions were more apparent because
[43:09]the type of Nations that he went to are nations that suffered
[43:15]from certain issues due to the fact that they are were away
[43:18]from the ethical commands of Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala right and thereupon those
[43:24]issues required certain mean e e e e wisdom wisdom basically meaning
[45:53]the direct acts and the direct commands that have no room to
[45:58]be altered or even interpreted and therefore they have to be direct
[46:02]commands and this is what we learned from the story of alam
[46:04]what did we say remember we said it is not necessarily that
[46:09]one of them was right and the other was wrong but one
[46:13]of them was acting upon the apparent the legislative Authority that he
[46:17]has which is because remember what we said the from is that
[46:22]Al Al said to mus that you have been given a task
[46:28]that I cannot handle and I have been given a task that
[46:33]you cannot handle meaning you have the Rah I have that imama
[46:35]to act upon what the interpretation and you have the Rah to
[46:38]act upon the apparent so the first method that we should use
[46:44]is that method of wisdom but that doesn't mean this is the
[46:46]only method or this is the first method that we should always
[46:52]act upon no it's an option the verse gives us options and
[46:55]it is for us to possess a certain level of intellect in
[47:00]order for us to act upon that options so the first one
[47:02]is what wisdom meaning direct commands and this could be with people
[47:07]for example who are academics right people who possess a certain level
[47:13]of intellect educational level for example that they are able to handle
[47:18]the theories that might be confusing to others at times and that
[47:22]is that first method the second method the second method is good
[47:31]instruction which is what may Allah bless his soul he has a
[47:35]beautiful book in this regard it's called guiding the Youth of the
[47:40]modern generation and he dissects this verse in depth and he comes
[47:42]to the second point where he says good advice he said this
[47:48]is the most effective type and the most effective method in the
[47:53]process of Da why because is literally happens through setting par Parables
[47:59]through narrating stories so through setting an example having role models to
[48:04]emulate in this regard and you will find that the Quran repeatedly
[48:07]used this method from the beginning to an end always set a
[48:12]parable and we said that the whole point of dissecting the narratives
[48:14]ofah Al is in order for us to learn the morals from
[48:16]them apply many of them in our life and relate them to
[48:21]our awaited IM because if there's any reason for our existence that
[48:25]we should be looking forward to to is simply being in the
[48:31]presence of the awaited IM isn't it so therefore you find that
[48:37]Allah subh said setting Parables is absolutely important in this regard and
[48:44]in what way and a very soft way as Allah subhana himself
[48:47]Expresses in Surah T verse number 44 notice that when Allah subhah
[48:52]commands to go to and speak to him what does he tell
[48:57]him tells him speak to him in a soft Manner and that's
[49:02]who that's himself you know try to focus on his emotional perspective
[49:11]speak to him in a soft manner preach to him set for
[49:13]him examples and Parables why so he may remember or take good
[49:21]advice and if not at least fear and that's why you find
[49:25]that the Quran from the beginning to an end speak speaks about
[49:27]the reward and the punishment in many cases isn't it you find
[49:32]that the Quran sets us an example of a reward and at
[49:33]the same time sets an example of what punishment here there's an
[49:38]interesting narration in this regard it is said that one time a
[49:41]man came from the bedwin side of Arabia and he entered the
[49:45]Medina and he looked at the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he said
[49:48]oh I am anabi I'm a bedin I live in the outskirts
[49:52]of Medina in one of the tribes and I heard about your
[49:53]religion and I came to learn Islam s alh wasallam looked at
[49:58]Abdullah Mas the companion who was known to be one of the
[50:00]best reciters of the Holy Quran and he said yeah Abdullah teach
[50:02]him the Quran right isn't it and which tells me what for
[50:07]example is that when people want to come and learn about Islam
[50:09]the best thing to use is the Quran the Quran is our
[50:13]manual the Quran is our curriculum as Muslims isn't it so he
[50:16]find that what happened is that Abdullah Mas sat him down and
[50:20]he began reciting the Quran and then he reached to the verse
[50:23]that says whomsoever does an atom's worth of act will see it
[50:36]just an atom's worth of act will see a good a good
[50:41]action a good deed will see it and whomsoever does an atom's
[50:52]worth of an evil deed will also see it thei the B
[50:54]looked at abdah and he said enough that's it that's enough for
[51:00]me abdah wanted to continue wasallam said leave him so the man
[51:06]left when he left said by Allah that that bedin left this
[51:12]Masid as a fak he's a jurist why because he understood totally
[51:18]absorbed the content of the verse and that's why you find for
[51:21]example in the of the Quran for example you open every Surah
[51:26]it says if you read this have to read the Surah on
[51:27]that night and if you recite the Surah so and so will
[51:31]happen for example in Surah the cave if you recite Surah the
[51:33]cave every Thursday night you will be protected from the deception of
[51:38]the Dalal but what does that mean though does that mean only
[51:41]the recitation of it no applying the content of the verses in
[51:43]the suras so every Surah that we recite we are supposed to
[51:49]what reflect on those verses and learn those morals from those verses
[51:52]and thereupon get the result indeed and that's why I said if
[51:56]I'm not mistaken even the first or the second night is that
[51:59]many of us approach these nights as the nights of doing a
[52:03]lot of what we want to do is just we want to
[52:04]finish when in reality the Quran wants you to focus and reflect
[52:10]sometimes just reciting one Surah with proper reflection and um reflecting upon
[52:16]it the meanings of it the morals of it applying it to
[52:18]our life is more worthy than actually finishing all the Amal that
[52:23]we want to finish in this regard why because we're learning the
[52:27]moral lesson just like that but doing in this regard so sometimes
[52:30]good advice is the best perfect method according to and many other
[52:36]uh scholars in this regard setting an example because that would that
[52:42]would play on the emotional perspective of people you would soften the
[52:46]hearts in disregard as Allah subhana T said to mus Alam to
[52:49]the tone that he should use with and second and the third
[52:56]one is what says what meaning that sometimes you might be confronted
[53:00]with a rebuttal to what you're preaching but therefore you should always
[53:05]be aware of the ethical perspective in such a way that when
[53:08]you argue with them Allah didn't just say and argue with them
[53:13]he said no argue with them in the best possible manner meaning
[53:15]what number one I should not give up on the spot if
[53:20]I am confronted I should educate myself enough to be able to
[53:24]reply to such rebuttal even if it takes me time by the
[53:25]way there's nothing wrong with sometimes taking a time or saying I
[53:31]do not know if we learn anything from Surah the cave we
[53:33]said what that the reason of the revelation of the Surah of
[53:36]the cave is that those three mush came to the prophet sallallahu
[53:39]alaihi wasallam and they asked them the questions do you know what
[53:42]happened some commentators of the Holy Quran suggest that the prophet received
[53:47]the answer 40 Days Later 40 Days Later Surah alah was revealed
[53:56]that the prophet himself felt that felt in this regard that the
[54:00]people of qur Might begin disbelieving in him disbelieving in him even
[54:06]more and thereon he asked Jam he said oh what took you
[54:10]so long so why did it take you so long to reveal
[54:14]to me the answers he said we descend upon the command of
[54:15]Allah subhah wa tala not upon the desire and the wish of
[54:19]the people so which teaches me what is that sometimes that I
[54:22]shouldn't right away give up no no no I should create a
[54:24]dialogue an argument but a positive one not an argument where two
[54:29]people are just you know bickering back and forth and it becomes
[54:32]quarreling it doesn't even become a healthy dialogue isn't it so it
[54:36]should be a healthy dialogue I should create that's number one number
[54:38]two argue with them with the best possible manner meaning the way
[54:43]I need to answer back I would I should always be aware
[54:46]of the ethical perspective of the dean so argue with them in
[54:51]the best possible Manner and many of the people sometimes are not
[54:54]on the level to even accept the truth and could happen just
[54:57]like exactly what happened with far is that after musam presented him
[55:03]with the proofs far comes back with an answer of what you're
[55:05]a magician we spoke with that about that if I'm not mistaken
[55:09]in one night when we spoke about the notion of labeling is
[55:10]that it's so easy to just to label someone isn't it mallah
[55:14]we do it in our society all the time we do it
[55:15]in our community all the time we label people if they come
[55:18]with a different belief or a different perspective of things sometimes on
[55:21]the spot we label them so we shouldn't do that is that
[55:26]it is important to create a dialogue right but a dialogue that
[55:31]is derived from ethics and at the same time has a conclusion
[55:34]right because there's some people in society that are referred to as
[55:39]ask holes you know what an askhole is an askhole is the
[55:44]friend that constantly asks you for advice yet goes in that and
[55:46]does the exact opposite of it we all have that friend we
[55:52]all have that one friend he comes and always cries and asks
[55:54]for advice okay you give them the advice you find that they
[55:58]go and do the exact opposite of it many people Unfortunately they
[56:00]just need emotional support it is referred to as what emotional support
[56:04]when in reality what you need to look for is Solutions you
[56:06]need to find Solutions right not just emotional support or else what
[56:12]it will just become arguing and then it would lead to what
[56:14]it might lead to it might lead to namima isn't it gossip
[56:19]when in reality Allah subh teaches us to always strive towards to
[56:22]find a solution and try to set a goal in this regard
[56:26]so that's the third one and this is what I wanted to
[56:30]cover the third and final Point let us reflect back now after
[56:33]we understood these methods of Da and this will really help us
[56:37]into dissecting the story of as he himself had to use certain
[56:43]means in terms of doing Daw for those Nations that he traveled
[56:49]to Allah subhana says in the Holy Quran when he reach the
[56:58]place where the sun sets so the first journey of the was
[57:01]towards West now some historians here they say what they say basically
[57:07]the fact that he traveled West which means that the point of
[57:11]his journey the beginning point of his journey was from the East
[57:15]and this will help us a lot in identifying the identity of
[57:18]the because as we said earlier it was a topic of dispute
[57:23]until now even many of them they considered the Persona of the
[57:26]for example some people suggest that he was Alexander of Macedonia the
[57:29]Greeks would love it if you would say that you know and
[57:33]they hate it if someone else Pro proves the opposite when in
[57:36]reality there's a recent re research that proves the exact opposite some
[57:39]say no he was actually from Alexandria right yet these stations that
[57:43]we will stop upon inshallah within the following nights I will identify
[57:52]the identity of in this regard so Allah subh says says what
[57:55]when he reached the place where the sun sets so he reached
[58:02]a place where the sun sets meaning the farthest spot of the
[58:06]West in the world where is it there's many opinions in this
[58:13]regard some say that it was ismir the outskirts of turkey some
[58:19]say no that it was actually what is referred to as the
[58:22]Kazar Empire what the Caucasian Empire right so Caucasian people for example
[58:28]they come from the white people for instance they say were're Caucasians
[58:32]they come from the Caucasian Empire Kazar Empire right which is might
[58:36]be referred to as Eastern Europe nowadays right and many other opinions
[58:40]at this regard but what really concerns me for tonight is to
[58:44]say that when Allah says he says what he found it setting
[58:49]over a warm sea so here Allah is telling me that reached
[58:55]to a point the far hardest point in the west of west
[59:00]of the um of the earth and then what he saw it's
[59:02]as if that the sun was setting in a spring of stagnant
[59:07]water like a warm sea there's an ethical point I would like
[59:11]to make in this regard because as we said we're mentioning these
[59:16]stories for the reason of moral lessons not just to identify the
[59:18]names and the places and that's it one comment one one one
[59:22]commentator of the Holy Quran makes a beautiful ethical point in this
[59:28]regard regard what does he say he says Focus how Allah subh
[59:31]said that he found it setting over a warm sea he didn't
[59:35]say he went when he reached the place where the sun sets
[59:37]it was setting over a warm sea no no he said that
[59:42]when he would see the sun setting it's as if the sun
[59:47]was setting in a warm sea they say what say just like
[59:52]the eyes of were imagining as if the sun was setting in
[59:54]a warm sea just like for example right now if you're traveling
[59:57]or if you're watching the sunset some people love to do it
[60:01]romantic people they want to just watch the sunset on a on
[60:02]the shore isn't it they want to sit on the sure that's
[60:06]an accomplishment okay fine on the other hand you find what that
[60:08]it was setting in a like it's as if that the whole
[60:12]body that star that large star is setting under or behind the
[60:17]sea isn't it you find that here he makes a beautiful point
[60:20]he said the same way that this was a result of a
[60:25]suspicion of his eyesight meaning the reality is the sun does not
[60:27]set inside the warm sea doesn't it it doesn't right but the
[60:33]Earth is rotating unless you're a flat earther now there's flat earthers
[60:36]that have different theories really interesting some of them but they're just
[60:39]fun to kind of just read but not really believe in unfortunately
[60:42]on the other hand you find what that just like the sun
[60:47]sets in a warm sea and because the deceiving eyesight makes you
[60:50]believe that the Sun is setting that way right the same thing
[60:53]with the human naps it says the human soul is the same
[60:59]way see many of us might be so great in the eyes
[61:03]of society yet as a result of one sin or one mistake
[61:05]we might also set to a point that the eyes of the
[61:12]society might look at the hour that grand personality that grand Persona
[61:15]it just went on a downfall in this regard and that's why
[61:21]you find that the religion of Islam says what it gives us
[61:23]so many numerous stories be it in the history of Islamic lature
[61:28]or even in the Quran and we said before that the Quran
[61:30]is always concerned about how people end not how they begin because
[61:34]many Great personas mentioned in the Quran or even in Islamic narrations
[61:41]that they had a great status in society yet because of one
[61:44]position that they took that status was absolutely ruined in the eyes
[61:48]of society remember when we gave an example of om IM Hussein
[61:53]looked at him and he said clearly he said your father is
[61:56]considered a companion he's considered a companion at least keep up his
[62:00]good reputation the least you would do is not perform this act
[62:05]and stand in front of me on the land of carala and
[62:07]Take A Part in killing me shedding my blood just to keep
[62:10]up the reputation of your own father in the eyes of society
[62:12]at the least and that's absolutely important to understand is that sometimes
[62:17]understand that when your actions are public you will be judged in
[62:20]society whether you like it or not sometimes you have this misconception
[62:25]in our minds that oh Only God can judge me no no
[62:26]Only God can judge you on the day of right it's not
[62:29]a Hadith I don't know where we bring it from unless you
[62:32]consider Tupak Shakur as a narrator of Hadith but it doesn't exist
[62:37]this way no it's not a Hadith no no not only God
[62:40]can judge you I can be breaking the law in public right
[62:42]now and if I get pulled over by a cop he tells
[62:45]me I tell him oh Only God can judge me no there's
[62:49]a legislative law at the end of the day there's a law
[62:51]enforcement on the and this is by the way this what we
[62:54]will come to understand more clearly in the methods of of Da
[62:57]of because many of us many of us might come from a
[63:01]mindset that think what is that yeah you can apply Justice with
[63:03]just with um good advice no not necessarily you do need law
[63:07]enforcement to be able to apply Justice a criminal has to be
[63:13]punished the religion of Islam yes it motivates and it encourages forgiveness
[63:18]but after what after you acquire your H the religion of Islam
[63:23]wants you to acquire your H in the proper methods and then
[63:28]you forgive you don't just forgive we do not believe that whoever
[63:31]slaps you on the right you turn the left no no there's
[63:33]no Lord in the religion of Islam that believes in this you
[63:37]acquire your H and when you acquire your H you will be
[63:42]able to achieve Justice on Earth isn't it and that's why we
[63:44]compared it to the times of IM many of us will not
[63:47]be able to handle the justice of IM why because the the
[63:52]rights have to be returned in order for you to move on
[63:57]in your life how many people carry with them trauma simply because
[64:00]they did not acquire their H they felt that they're still oppressed
[64:03]they felt that they you know what I have not yet acquired
[64:07]my H and therefore you end up carrying trauma with you right
[64:10]how many of us sometimes how many people step into a relationship
[64:13]carrying such trauma with them simply because they did not acquire their
[64:20]H and therefore they Unfortunately they might fail in certain relationships I
[64:24]myself have said it before and I say it again that that's
[64:26]why personally I'm against what we refer to as International marriage you
[64:30]know International marriage is what is that a person who's born and
[64:32]raised here goes back home and picks a spouse right and many
[64:38]parents sometimes are guilty of this yeah some parents have this Rebel
[64:41]Son it's that you know what he's not acting very well it's
[64:46]okay what do we say in Lebanese right just marry him off
[64:52]marry him off he'll be he'll become good e e um reflect
[66:26]my profession the best place to work is the castle of f
[66:30]cuz who's the most person that owns horses obviously is f he
[66:33]has a military and that military requires horses he went and he
[66:39]acquired a job at the castle of f many people of the
[66:40]Israelites said to him they said you know that you're working for
[66:45]the Tyrant why because the Quran says that was persecuting the Israelites
[66:51]at that point and you know that we are waiting the Savior
[66:54]who is na mus he said I myself am very knowledgeable about
[66:59]the signs of the appearance of that savior it's like many of
[67:01]us sometimes are concerned only about the signs of the reappearance of
[67:03]IM Zan so what he did is that he went and he
[67:08]took the job and he said and when na mus re when
[67:11]na mus um is Bor would be born when the Savior would
[67:13]be born I'll definitely join his message where was he working the
[67:20]castle of far where was musam raised in the castle of far
[67:23]so he also had Direct access to the savior he was was
[67:27]able to acknowledge the Savior but then in his mind he said
[67:31]I'll just continue my job and then when na Musa decides to
[67:37]begin his Uprising I will join him do you understand the notion
[67:39]of delay that is happening here now compare this to ourselves when
[67:44]it comes to IM many of us think that the notion of
[67:48]reappearance is what is that no I can just continue practicing my
[67:53]life the way I am continue acquiring the habits that I'm used
[67:56]to and then when im Zan comes what will happen is just
[68:00]it will be a miracle right away I will transform and I
[68:02]will rise to the level of being one of the companion of
[68:05]IM or even enjoying the Bliss of living in the government of
[68:09]the Divine government of IM that man that man who was a
[68:15]horse groom he began training the horses of you see when you
[68:18]train a horse you train a horse to follow the leader isn't
[68:24]it right compare this to our NS the same thing with your
[68:27]naps when you nurture that naps and make it get used to
[68:35]certain habits and certain practices then The NPS controls your body that
[68:41]even your Civic your physical motion will be a follower to the
[68:44]naps and that naps could be either a naps that leads you
[68:49]towards good like Allah subh says he inspired it it's good and
[69:00]it's evil successful is the one who purifies it isn't it so
[69:03]Allah here what he did is that he nurtur so he uh
[69:08]raised the horses of or he trained the horses of far and
[69:11]then mus Alam left the castle of and traveled to where to
[69:17]Medan he said well upon the reappearance of Na mus I will
[69:20]definitely leave my job and join him musam returned confronted and he
[69:25]would still delay at the end he thought that the right time
[69:30]for him to escape and join NAB Musa was when was na
[69:35]mus Alam decided to flee with the 12 tribes of Israel but
[69:37]in reality the horses that he trained were trained to follow who
[69:40]the leader and thereupon he drowned with the military of and the
[69:46]same thing that happens with your nafs preparing your NS to be
[69:54]led by IM have to work on its virtue and thereupon it's
[69:59]so hard to let go of the habits of those desires that
[70:03]we have we fed that NS all the time off all these
[70:06]years it's not going to be a miracle when the IM reappears
[70:10]isn't it and that's why remember when we spoke about y ABD
[70:15]the day of exchange where people in the camp of Imam Mahi
[70:18]will join the camp of sufyani why because the the idea the
[70:22]system of the sufyani matches and fulfills their carnal desires and there
[70:26]will be people in the camp of of suani that would join
[70:33]the camp of Im so here said what and by it he
[70:43]found a people right so there were people living there at the
[70:46]farthest point of the sun some narration suggest that those people well
[70:50]definitely they were definitely polytheists they did not have a religion and
[70:55]and they were not aware of the concept of the Oneness of
[71:02]Allah subhana and therefore their life was not totally Advanced to the
[71:06]point that some suggest that even the way they dressed was not
[71:08]civilized the way that they lived was not civilized what they eight
[71:13]was not even in a civilized manner so Allah here says what
[71:15]um and he found a people so there was a nation we
[71:22]said said to him it's either you will either punish them or
[71:35]treat them with kindness here reached to his first destination that was
[71:42]his first task to accomplish after acquiring that power after being provided
[71:46]with all the means he said to Allah subh said we said
[71:53]he gave him an option meaning what meaning had reached a status
[71:59]that the means he was provided from uh with from Allah subah
[72:05]wa tala made him eligible to the fact that Allah subhana T
[72:10]leaves the decision up to him and that is a just ruler
[72:15]you up to him you decide what you want to do you
[72:19]will either punish them or treat them with kindness so you have
[72:27]two options and therefore here there is a beautiful explanation about what
[72:33]really happened in this regard and I think we should leave this
[72:38]to the tomorrow night inshallah because we took a lot from the
[72:41]time but I wanted to make this introduction of the journey and
[72:43]then we shall find out what did in this regard which option
[72:48]did he take and how was he able to excel in this
[72:52]regard using the means of Allah subhanahu wa tala and I know
[72:54]that we have a Q&A so hopefully inshallah we'll leave the floor
[72:57]up to the Q&A um hopefully they will be related to this
[73:03]topic or any other topic as the brother said that uh he
[73:05]prepared a lot of hard questions in this regard but the burger
[73:08]is not for me I guess and we end with the following
[73:10]Dua inshallah
