[30:15]this is how uncomfortable just kidding anyd [Music] [Music] muham Sall Al
[31:04][Music] [Music] to hasten the reappearance of our awaited IM I request
[31:28]recite three salawat with the loudest of our voices respected brothers and
[31:50]sisters in Islam the verses that we started with tonight are verses
[31:57]number 24 to verse 36 in Surah the verses highlight a very
[32:02]important if not the most important stage in the life of and
[32:09]if one might reflect back on the life of The Messengers one
[32:13]would notice that the Revelation or the process of the Revelation when
[32:16]it comes to the messengers of Allah goes through many stages and
[32:20]indeed some of these stages are considered as stages of elevating in
[32:24]the process of dawa so you would find that in many the
[32:28]lives of the Prophet that the first stage begins with the Revelation
[32:30]and the da amongst the family just like with the prophet sallallahu
[32:34]alaih wasallam and then in many cases that stage of the Revelation
[32:40]goes through a process where Allah subhana wa T commands the messenger
[32:45]or the prophet to expand his da and go public in his
[32:47]dawa and that is considered indeed a very crucial stage in the
[32:52]life of every messenger you find that when you reflect back to
[32:56]the stories of The Messengers mentioned in the Holy Quran and even
[33:00]the the story of our Prophet sallallahu alaih wasallam you find that
[33:04]the most challenging part of their life is when they go public
[33:06]in da and that is something even on a social perspective I'll
[33:09]tell you why see the scholars they differentiate between the concept of
[33:13]being a and a mus meaning what meaning everybody in society loves
[33:20]a is that if you were to reflect back on the lives
[33:24]of The Messengers and even our messenger sallallahu alaihi Al wasallam you
[33:27]find that there're always being looked up upon in amongst their communities
[33:31]right is that they were considered to be people of righteousness they
[33:35]were considered to be honorable people many of them came from noble
[33:40]families hence the society gave them a lot of respect they noted
[33:42]the fact that they are considered Sol a good person Even in
[33:47]our times and days you find that everybody loves a mmin is
[33:49]that we love the mmin right is that we come to the
[33:53]m they say mashallah this person is a mmin as soon as
[33:56]that meaning a righteous person decides to spread Salah meaning what decides
[34:02]to go public in his Salah and wants to preach righteousness to
[34:08]society that's when they get attacked in fact that's the difference between
[34:12]a which is a righteous and then a mus which is a
[34:14]reformer and therefore you would notice that a reformer gets attacked all
[34:19]the time and that's what happens with our Messengers and mainly our
[34:23]Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam you know what that when you reflect back
[34:25]on the life of the Prophet sallallahu alaih Ali wasallam before or
[34:28]da he was referred to as or isn't it meaning he was
[34:36]the truthful and the trustworthy as soon as he decided to go
[34:40]public in his da and spread that and wanted to spread the
[34:44]concept of truthfulness among society and am and trustworthiness that's when he
[34:51]became whatab isn't it you find that one of the main attacks
[34:54]on the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam is that he's a magician is
[34:56]that that he was even not only in the prophet but even
[35:00]later on in the lives for example if you look into the
[35:05]history of mu sufyan one of the things that he would attack
[35:07]is saying what mainly on the Battle of s he would say
[35:11]that this is indeed from the magic of bani hash meaning what
[35:14]you find that the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam was looked up upon
[35:17]like he was given that respect before the concept of du before
[35:21]going public in dawa that as soon as he wanted to go
[35:23]public in dawa he gets attacked and that's Lally what happens in
[35:29]society going back to mus alam's life this is exactly what happened
[35:31]with him is that that was a challenge for him to Embark
[35:34]upon there was a new stage in the Journey of the life
[35:38]of Na mus alisam and thereupon when Allah subhah wa taala decided
[35:41]to reveal to na mus alisam saying what meaning go to because
[35:50]he transgressed he exceeded all limits and notice that the first person
[35:55]that Allah subhana wa tala wanted mus Alam to start with in
[35:57]terms of the doing da to is who is the head of
[36:01]kufur isn't it is that what go to the leader why because
[36:06]Allah subhana wa tala understands or wants us to draw wants to
[36:08]draw our attention to a very important reality that if you are
[36:11]able to transform and have an effect and a positive effect on
[36:16]the king of the society on the president of a certain country
[36:19]then indeed you will have an effect on the full country isn't
[36:23]it is that the whole society will change why because societies and
[36:27]communities are affected by who by their leaders so that's why Allah
[36:30]subh tells them in the Quran in the verses before meaning go
[36:35]to why because he has transgressed but then and then Allah subhana
[36:39]T continues by giving the commands to mus Alam as to what
[36:45]he's supposed to do na mus in return does what he does
[36:48]Dua and what does that tell us so first mus was commanded
[36:53]to do da isn't it the word Dua meaning many of us
[36:56]when we think about Dua right we notice that what is the
[37:01]definition of Dua Dua is literally calling upon Allah subh T isn't
[37:04]it it's actually supplicating to Allah subhana tala yet Dua where does
[37:09]it come from it comes from the word da when you hear
[37:11]the word da you would think that it's literally preach preaching isn't
[37:14]it is that many of us is that you call this person
[37:18]is a meaning a person who preaches a preacher right I remember
[37:22]not too long ago I was lecturing in muharam in fact in
[37:24]deborn and then I remember I was somewhere present and someone approached
[37:27]me and they said said um are you a priest I said
[37:31]what kind of but a different type of priest where do you
[37:33]even at the hotel sometimes when I'm taking down the elevator I
[37:36]got a family that gets into the elevator with me and they
[37:38]say my God hello father say yeah hello my son may Allah
[37:44]bless you too Jesus loves us all that's yeah anyways live the
[37:49]role nevertheless you find that you know for example there someone that's
[37:54]considered a meaning a preacher a person that preaches isn't it so
[37:58]you find that preaching comes from da and Dua literally originates from
[38:02]the word da when I say da many of us think that
[38:04]you're preaching to others isn't it and therefore Allah subhana derived the
[38:10]word Dua from da meaning just like I'm supposed to preach to
[38:13]others before I do so then I'm supposed to do Dua and
[38:17]then embark on the Journey of Da and that's literally the beauty
[38:19]in this verse in the Holy Quran and that's the focal point
[38:21]in this verse is that when Allah subhanahu wa tala said to
[38:25]that you should go to right away what does he do he
[38:31]supplicates to Allah subhah what does he say says and he said
[38:37]oh Allah expand my chest right why because I'm going to meaning
[38:42]dealing with is not easy dealing in fact in the process of
[38:47]Da being a preacher in general is obviously not easy you have
[38:50]to handle so many things yes some people sometimes call you at
[38:55]2 a.m.
[38:57]they say people do even on a parking spot some people take
[39:00]the notion ofar and I mean people I mean My People Lebanese
[39:02]masallah we love to doar and not only this we are experts
[39:08]on the Holy Quran and so that why do we call the
[39:12]M to do fine so we call the M to do oh
[39:15]what which verse M okay which verse so why are do you
[39:17]know the of the Quran am I speaking to say on the
[39:20]phone no of course not no no no please tell me the
[39:22]verse M okay sh I tell you the verse and then when
[39:25]you tell them the verse they say but I look at it
[39:28]differently Subhan we look at everything differently we are experts on everything
[39:31]we love to just always opinionate that's the thing so what you
[39:35]know it's really hard sometimes so teaches us saying what says Allah
[39:40]expand my my chest with ease why because I'm dealing with a
[39:48]person like focus on this Subhan Allah the beautiful expression in the
[39:52]Holy Quran when Allah subhah wa tal tells me something in the
[39:55]Holy Quran as specific as this is why is it Allah subhana
[40:00]T paying so much attention to details something so you might think
[40:03]that is insignificant but he wants to draw our attention to one
[40:07]thing is that look at the Dua of saying so then do
[40:13]what and make my task easy because dealing with a person I
[40:19]am going to a person that controls an Empire such as isn't
[40:24]it so make my task easy isn't it meaning what and Grant
[40:33]me Clarity of speech here many people unfortunately think that musam used
[40:38]to stutter meaning that he had this issue is that he would
[40:41]not he was not able to be clear in his speech yet
[40:45]the commentators of the Holy Quran they say something really interesting in
[40:49]this regard mainly the followers of theit school of thought I want
[40:52]you to focus on this they say what they say when it
[40:54]comes to this to this uh Dua of mus Al am saying
[41:00]grant me Clarity in my speech Clarity so the others can understand
[41:09]me why see because the language of the is a very eloquent
[41:11]language isn't it theia are used to speaking to who to Allah
[41:15]subhanahu wa ta'ala they're used to hearing what they're used to hearing
[41:21]the revelation of Allah subhanahu wa taala and therefore you would notice
[41:25]that in the verses in Surah tah the very s that mentioning
[41:27]the verse in the verses before such verses verse number 18 Allah
[41:31]subhanahu wa taala says to musam what oh what is this in
[41:41]your right hand oh Moses why would Allah subhana ask alham as
[41:44]what's in his right hand isn't it clear to Allah what's in
[41:48]the right hand of Na mus doesn't Allah subhana T know what
[41:50]is in the right hand of Na mus of course he does
[41:54]yet Allah is is setting for us an example of how should
[41:57]we perform Dua and approach Allah subhanahu wa taala from a love
[42:03]perspective and that's why say he comes and says what that this
[42:08]is a reflection of a speech between a lover and the Beloved
[42:11]is that when you're talking to the Beloved on the phone what
[42:15]do you do you try to extend the conversation as much as
[42:17]you can isn't it mashallah those guys they really nodded their heads
[42:20]alhamdulillah wonderful okay that's how you know the secrets I'm just kidding
[42:24]anyways so basically what you do is that what you do you
[42:28]try to extend the conversation as much as you can when you're
[42:30]speaking to you extend the conversation and that's why you find that
[42:33]there was an extension of that conversation Allah subhana waa asking mus
[42:39]what what does he reply he doesn't say to Allah subhah waala
[42:43]that this is only my staff no he said this is my
[42:48]staff I lean on it could you imagine that he starts giving
[42:52]details it's as if what doesn't Allah subhana know these things no
[42:55]of course he does but then he's just prolonging the conversation with
[42:59]the Beloved why so he can hear the words of Allah subhanahu
[43:03]wa ta'ala and this is basically a a clear indication for us
[43:06]is that when we're doing Dua it is important that when we
[43:12]prolong the Dua we are enjoying the concept of Dua towards Allah
[43:15]subhah wa tala mainly during the month of Ramadan so basically when
[43:18]he says Allah subhana says what sorry when he tells Allah it's
[43:26]my staff I lean on it and what and I actually got
[43:32]branches with that staff so I can for my own sheep and
[43:34]then what he even goes more further and he says and I
[43:38]also has have other uses for it it's just trying to extend
[43:43]the conversation between him and Allah subhana tala so going having that
[43:48]said having that said when he asks Allah subhanahu waala means what
[43:56]it means a knot and comes from the word meaning just a
[44:01]TI the KN isn't it and that's why sometimes when we hear
[44:04]a speech we say that this is right in our Lang we
[44:08]say it isn't it just try praying five times a day and
[44:10]they call you if you right come on who which other community
[44:19]in the world believes in this there's an hour for you and
[44:21]an hour for your lord it's like as if Allah gets gets
[44:24]gets a break one hour of the day seriously nevertheless I'm just
[44:27]kidding by the way on the other hand you find that what
[44:29]what is meaning what it's complicated when you hear a very eloquent
[44:37]speech what do you say it's complicated isn't it so the speech
[44:40]the power of speech of Na musam is absolutely eloquent it is
[44:44]divine hence he asked Allah subhanahu wa tala saying what and then
[44:51]make my the clarity provide me the clarity of my Speech cuz
[44:54]I'm addressing who I'm addressing people who are drench in materialism such
[45:01]as and his people the language that they understand is not the
[45:04]language of the Divine they understand the language of materialism that the
[45:08]language that I will be preaching to them is something that they
[45:11]are absolutely not used to hence I want to grant me what
[45:16]Clarity from my speech and then he goes on by saying what
[45:19]and then appoint for me a minister from my own people the
[45:25]word wiir focus on this the word wiir comes from Wizard wizer
[45:27]is a burden there's even a reference in the Holy Quran of
[45:32]wizer meaning what a burden that you might carry something that really
[45:37]pushes you down something that is absolutely heavy in weight for you
[45:41]to carry thereupon the word wiir comes from what wizard meaning the
[45:45]person that carries the heavy burden hence you find that Allah subhana
[45:51]T says what is that he refers to to Har as the
[45:52]minister the of so basically and then har my brother and then
[46:02]he continues and inshallah we'll get to that later on within the
[46:04]speech but the the main point that I would like to open
[46:08]up the speech with is that notice how focused on the concept
[46:13]of Dua before doing dawa to Allah subhanahu wa tala thereupon the
[46:16]clear clear message in this verse is that in order for us
[46:22]to do da da and in order for us to preach and
[46:23]go out in public and call others what do we have to
[46:27]do Dua notice that the other proof that comes from the Holy
[46:31]Quran and that's the beauty of it and inshallah this is what
[46:33]I would like to focus on within those 15 nights if I
[46:37]do last year fasting nevertheless if insh 15 nights that I will
[46:40]be at your service while I'm being at your service in I
[46:43]would really like to focus on the Holy Quran and one of
[46:44]the most miraculous things of the Quran is what is that Quran
[46:50]explains Quran when we open the verse in chapter 16 verse number
[46:54]sorry Surah 16 yes verse number 126 125 you find Allah says
[47:05]what call to the path of your lord call to the way
[47:10]of your lord others through wisdom and good moral good moral lessons
[47:14]and argue with them in the best possible manner you find that
[47:17]in this verse what does Allah say call to the path of
[47:21]your lord call others to the path of your Lord why didn't
[47:22]he say call others to the path of Allah he said the
[47:28]path of your Lord because the word in Arabic comes from meaning
[47:32]the one who nurtured you the one who raised you the one
[47:39]who provided for you he's your susten and thereupon Allah is saying
[47:42]call others to the path of your lord meaning what is that
[47:44]your lord meaning that you have already achieved the level that to
[47:48]have a connection and a relationship with Allah subhana wa tal he
[47:52]considered your lord your your lord and there therefore we say be
[47:58]very careful when you're calling others to the path of Islam because
[48:01]whatever you're going to portray for them they're going to look at
[48:08]the religion from your end and this is where it comes with
[48:10]the whole notion of raising a child is that many of us
[48:12]sometimes we complain about children that they don't listen to us we
[48:18]are doing Daw to them we try to speak to them but
[48:20]they don't listen to us but how often have we done dawa
[48:24]to ourselves in order for them us to be the reflection of
[48:27]the de that they want them to follow isn't it is that
[48:31]we want them to follow be on the righteous path hence we
[48:35]were supposed to BU ourselves in the beginning right why because Allah
[48:39]says that call others to the path of your lord the child
[48:40]is going to look up to the parents and he's going to
[48:44]look at Allah subhana he's going to learn his Lord or her
[48:47]Lord Through The Eyes Of Who of her or his own parents
[48:51]in this regard and thereupon what I would like to do tonight
[48:54]inshallah is to further dissect the whole idea of Dua and understanding
[48:59]the concept of Dua the purpose behind Dua since we are in
[49:04]the month of Dua and let this be the opening for the
[49:06]following lectures that shall come within the next 15 nights what I
[49:11]would like to do within the 15 nights is my main theme
[49:13]is to focus on the narratives of Surah the cave you find
[49:17]that Surah the cave contain three main narratives in it and this
[49:21]is why I started with the whole notion of Dua and da
[49:24]because the main focal point that those three narrative revolve around is
[49:30]the whole concept of Da and Dua to Allah subhanahu wa tala
[49:33]so what I would like to do as I said earlier I
[49:36]would like to further dissect this topic inshallah depending on the following
[49:40]points the first one is that we always speak about Dua and
[49:44]we always want to push for Dua and we always want to
[49:46]preach for Dua we call other people to do Dua mainly in
[49:52]those nights of Shah Ramadan but how do we do Dua is
[49:54]there a method that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala teaches us in order
[49:57]for us to do Dua that's the first point the second point
[50:01]is that what are the conditions that are required in order for
[50:05]us to get a response in Dua as many of us sometimes
[50:09]wonder is that I am praying supplicating to Allah subhana tala that
[50:13]why is it I don't get the result That I Want from
[50:18]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and the third Point what I would like
[50:20]to do tonight is that why is it that sometimes we do
[50:25]not have the energy to perform Dua and supplicate to our Lord
[50:28]why is it that we don't have the mental state to sit
[50:33]throughout for example Dua K or for example Dua or for example
[50:38]Dua AB Hamza and why is it that when those very nights
[50:44]come and they arrive and we fast and we expect from the
[50:47]community nevertheless even from our own children to sit down and do
[50:50]to the Dua why is it that we or them have a
[50:56]hard time sometimes sitting down through the Dua and five is that
[50:59]how do we achieve Dua from from a practical form meaning how
[51:06]do you achieve Dua in the Practical form why because you see
[51:09]the scholars of Ethics separate the concept of I they say that
[51:11]there are two types of I the first one is the traditional
[51:16]type of I the way to perform I and the second one
[51:22]is the spirit of I and what Allah subhana wants us to
[51:25]do is that move from the traditional and the method of I
[51:30]to be able to apply the spirit of I and that is
[51:32]exactly the Practical form of Dua and before I proceed further I
[51:37]would like it to provide me with a loud salawat that was
[51:44]a lazy salawat please a louder one please as we said the
[51:54]first point is that how do we supplicate to Allah subhanahu wa
[51:56]tala the scholars of Ethics in the religion of Islam the school
[52:01]of thought have mentioned lots of ethical commands from which I chose
[52:06]some that were mentioned by aah B may Allah bless his soul
[52:10]asah B that person who was considered a a person with a
[52:16]person of spirituality of insight when it comes to Dua he mentions
[52:20]four of them inshallah and this is what I would like to
[52:24]speak about um when it comes to the first point the first
[52:26]one is is to initiate our supplication by praising Allah subhanahu wa
[52:30]tala you notice that there are suras in the Holy Quran that
[52:34]begin with the opening of what alhamdulillah isn't it Allah subhana T
[52:40]glorifies himself by himself if you were to reflect on the narrations
[52:44]the sermons of the bit the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam and the
[52:48]imams was there any sermon that did not begin with the with
[52:53]glorifying Allah subhah wa tala every sermon began by saying what alhamdulillah
[52:58]isn't it you find IM out to this point in the sermon
[53:01]of aam aam after being taken as a captive the shackles are
[53:07]in the hands of IM to the point that it is narrated
[53:12]that abam once entered abam the famous companion that we recite the
[53:16]Dua of one time entered upon IM he saw IM crying and
[53:22]then Abu Hamza looked at him and he said oh IM this
[53:27]is not the first time you someone martys from banii Hashim this
[53:30]is something that you are rooted upon you are rooted upon the
[53:33]concept of sacrifice and fact sacrifice and martyrdom is considered a trend
[53:40]in the in the tribe of B Hashim IM Z replied to
[53:42]abam thinging AB Hamza do you think I'm mourning over the martyrdom
[53:46]of my father Hussein no but then and then the the narration
[53:51]continues IM he tapped on his thighs three times saying aam Asam
[53:54]aam so could you imagine the pain in the heart of IM
[54:00]Z unreflecting upon what happened in aam and could you only imagine
[54:04]that IM Z at that point in the court of Yaz mua
[54:06]having the shackles in his hands being lashed beaten taken on that
[54:14]Journey stands in the court of yazid muaah and then delivers a
[54:17]sermon and he opens up the sermon by saying what alhamd could
[54:30]you imagine by saying what alhamd what does that tell me see
[54:34]how many of us in a state of anger sometimes when we're
[54:36]not in Bliss as we wish to be end up blaming Allah
[54:41]subhana tala rather than glorifying Allah subhanahu wa taala how many of
[54:45]us sometimes end up rebelling against the state that we're in and
[54:49]rather than reflecting on the bounties and the blessings that we might
[54:51]have and others don't and deprived upon but we tend to do
[54:55]what we have the state of anger it's almost as if we
[55:00]forget to glorify Allah subhanahu wa tala isn't it so notice that
[55:03]the even in the most amount of hardships that they're facing they
[55:08]always begin by what by praising Allah subhanahu wa tala and thereupon
[55:13]when you approach Dua always praise Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when you
[55:17]want something from someone what do you do you start praising them
[55:20]isn't it that when a child wants something from their parents right
[55:23]they start praising them they're telling them how wonderful they are how
[55:26]excellent they are and then they need to appoint what they they
[55:30]want something isn't it like how many of us sometimes would walk
[55:32]up to them to your mother and you start complimenting even get
[55:34]her a flower sometimes they tell her I'm going to get you
[55:37]this and then right away she cuts you off and tells you
[55:40]what do you want right because they know that eventually you're praising
[55:42]to get to a conclusion you want something in return so when
[55:46]you begin by doing Dua to Allah subh what you're supposed to
[55:50]do that depend on ham and reflect back as as I said
[55:52]that even in a state of hardship always have that notion of
[55:57]H isn't it you f was known to always glorify Allah subhanahu
[56:08]wa taala to the point that it is the Shan that complained
[56:13]to Allah and he said a only glorifies you and thanks you
[56:16]simply just simply for what just simply because you provided him with
[56:23]any everything Alam was a wealthy man he's a wealthy me messenger
[56:25]of Allah he had many children masallah he had Farms he had
[56:29]flocks of sheeps and so forth and thereupon he was known to
[56:34]always say alhamdulillah and Allah subhanahu waala what did he do he
[56:40]beell a hardship of and he lost everything and he kept on
[56:43]glorifying Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and he never stopped on glorifying Allah
[56:46]subhah wa tala so sometimes even in a deep state of hardship
[56:51]always reflect on the bounties that Allah subhana T has provided you
[56:54]reflect in Surah Al Fat you find that inah Al we recite
[57:00]every day it comes to the part where we say isn't it
[57:05]guide us to the righteous path whichat but which righteous path then
[57:09]we pinpoint which satat meaning okay please Allah guide us to the
[57:12]righteous path the path of Those whom you blessed see if you
[57:20]were to reflect on those who Allah blessed who are they the
[57:23]messengers the prophets the ah bit The Companions show me one good
[57:32]blessing if you were to think about it in our perspective what
[57:35]is the blessing in their life every single part of their life
[57:42]was considered what a hardship every single part of the life was
[57:47]considered a difficulty yet always say to Allah subhana that's considered a
[57:53]blessing so even the difficulties that they went through so when I
[57:56]say to Allah I certainly mean IM Hussein what's the blessing in
[58:02]it but of course in the eyes of Allah subh in the
[58:06]eyes of and the eyes of the that is considered a blessing
[58:09]difficulties are considered a blessing from Allah subhah many of us sometimes
[58:16]do not reflect on our difficulties that even in the state of
[58:19]hardship that that is considered a blessing from Allah subh that's why
[58:23]when we say and that's why many youth when they ask me
[58:25]a question is that you know if I will take the path
[58:29]of religiosity is it going to are things going to be easier
[58:30]no they're not there's a reality there's absolutely a reality that we
[58:36]need to live and we need to even change the way we
[58:38]preach things because no it's not many sisters come up to me
[58:43]and they say well if I wear hijab that this no it's
[58:44]not it's actually going to be harder but that's the beauty of
[58:48]it why if I were to ask every person sitting in this
[58:52]room is that who's your idol even if you don't want to
[58:57]give me your Idols of being of the or the or so
[58:58]forth the that even if it was in a materialistic world you
[59:02]tell me that it was this athlete right or for example that
[59:06]celebrity show me what is the blessing in their life or show
[59:12]me which one of them made it that did not have difficulties
[59:14]in their life they all came from difficulties they all came from
[59:17]hardships from the best of soccer players are the ones who came
[59:24]from poverty isn't it that they suffered so much in fact if
[59:26]you reflect many of those soccer players or basketball players they all
[59:30]way came from poverty so it is a pass of diff sometimes
[59:33]that difficulty is a blessing that you never know what Allah subhah
[59:38]wa tala has hidden for you in the future so that's the
[59:40]first thing is that always glorify Allah subhana wa tala be in
[59:45]a state of sh and in a state of ham the second
[59:46]step is what is that when we are when we are to
[59:51]begin our Dua after glorifying Allah subhana tala we are supposed to
[59:55]open up our supplication with theah see why the only on Muhammad
[60:06]Muhammad because if there's anything that we need to relate to in
[60:09]this world it is simply because of the isn't it and if
[60:16]there's anything that we need to work for and achieve it is
[60:19]simply to get to isn't it or else if we were to
[60:27]focus on that I'm indeed I'm leaving amongst you the two heavy
[60:36]weighty things the book of Allah and they will never separate then
[60:41]indeed that's the biggest proof of the existence of so when I
[60:47]am beginning my supplication and Dua putting in my head that all
[60:51]what I'm trying to do is to reach that everything I want
[60:55]to do is in the eye of my are to please my
[61:01]IM what I'm doing what I'm performing in my daily life is
[61:07]indeed just to reach to the level to be one of the
[61:10]followers of the IM hence I begin my supplication and I open
[61:14]my supplication and I close it with what with uh praying and
[61:19]sending the Muhammad Ali Muhammad and that's the second step the third
[61:24]one is that we should recognize and admit our sins and show
[61:27]remorse to Allah subhana tala and this is something related to Ego
[61:31]I want you to pay very well attention to you see many
[61:33]of us sometimes when we come and we approach Dua is that
[61:38]we approach Dua in a state as if we are doing a
[61:40]favor to Allah subhanahu wa tala it's as if we're the ones
[61:44]that we should be very happy that the at the fact that
[61:47]we are sitting down and we we are performing Dua towards Allah
[61:50]subhanahu wa tala but in reality the whole notion of Dua is
[61:53]what is to Simply kill that ego in US human beings we
[61:59]really suffer from that love of me that ego in many cases
[62:05]Allah subhana wa tala puts Dua for you why so you can
[62:07]wipe out that ego that regardless how Grand you are that when
[62:11]you come in between the hands of Allah subhah wa ta'ala you
[62:16]come so little you become so insignificant between the hands of Allah
[62:21]subhanahu waala focus on the what does he say he says is
[62:30]that the the Creator became so Grand and so great in their
[62:36]eyes so anything but Allah became so little in their eyes and
[62:44]thereupon they consider theel absolutely little in the presence of Allah subhanahu
[62:49]wa tala focus on the story of M when the prophet sallallahu
[62:52]alaihi wasallam as inah reached to the utmost highest level of s
[62:56]Allah compliments The Prophet by saying what the sight did not go
[63:07]astray and when the prophet was asked he said I was in
[63:09]a state of sujud that I could not even lift my head
[63:13]up from the presence of the Majesty of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[63:16]and thereupon it is important to understand and find yourself so little
[63:20]in the presence of Allah subhana tala in a state of Dua
[63:26]let go of that ego totally let it go you need to
[63:31]defeat this ego in order for you to reach up high towards
[63:34]understanding the whole concept of Dua and thereupon as I said Dua
[63:38]was something made for us to do is simply so we can
[63:43]let go of our pride and come to Allah subhah wa tala
[63:48]so little and the fourth step according to a is to cry
[63:50]and mourn and show absolute remorse regretting you see there's there's a
[63:56]misconception sometimes that we have in our societies is that we come
[64:01]to a person oh we try to preach and we try to
[64:02]make religion so attractive and he say Do not regret anything it's
[64:07]okay learn no that's actually wrong a person will never be able
[64:11]to improve except that they regret but there's a difference between regretting
[64:15]and between living and between living in regret if you do not
[64:18]regret the past or you do not regret the sins that one
[64:23]has committed if one does not regret the sins that they have
[64:25]committed then indeed they might be tempted to go back to that
[64:30]sin because the shatan excels in one thing by the way the
[64:32]shatan excels in a stage of showing you what of showing you
[64:38]that you are so um or sorry you are so drenched in
[64:40]sin to the point that you should not go back and repent
[64:44]to Allah subhana T whereas Allah subhana T tells you regardless whatever
[64:47]you do always come back to me but reflect on what you
[64:51]have done before and regrets there's nothing wrong with that so regretting
[64:55]the crying you know shedding those tears showing Allah subhana wa tala
[64:59]that you are an absolute regret hence you came to him so
[65:01]he can be the one saving you I'm sure many of you
[65:05]here went to Hajj may Allah subhana T grant us all the
[65:09]blessing and the honor of going to Hajj but when you sit
[65:10]on that mount arafa and you recite Dua and you cry towards
[65:15]Allah subhana T the first thing that you are advised to do
[65:17]is what is that let your heart go speak to Allah just
[65:22]say everything that you want and by the way many of the
[65:24]people sometimes they come they ask what is the best to do
[65:28]in Zar for instance when I step into the shrine of IM
[65:30]Hussein or when I step into the shrine of IM Ali or
[65:35]IM may Allah Grant you Z is that what is the best
[65:39]to do some of the they come and say the best is
[65:43]to let that heart go speak to that Imam like he is
[65:44]your father and you are that little child and you have pain
[65:49]in your heart just let that heart go let it go in
[65:54]the presence of your mum Im so that was the first point
[65:56]that I wanted to cover the second one is that what are
[66:01]the conditions in order for our and our Dua to be accepted
[66:03]there are many conditions I'm going to choose a few inshallah simply
[66:06]for the time the first condition which is the far and the
[66:11]most important one is understanding and trying to attain a level of
[66:16]acknowledging and having towards Allah subhana tala when you haveif towards Allah
[66:21]subhanahu wa ta'ala you will be able to attain the utmost level
[66:25]of performing your Dua hence as was prolonging the conversation with Allah
[66:32]subhanahu wa'ta'ala then you as a human being sitting in a state
[66:37]of Dua would also want to prolong the conversation with Allah subhana
[66:42]wa tala when you either doing be it Sal Salat believe it
[66:44]or not is a form of Dua one of the things that
[66:48]you study in is that if you open the of every he
[66:52]tells you Salat is a Dua the only difference is that it's
[66:55]a physical form of Dua but in reality Salat is what is
[66:59]Dua isn't it so then you will prolong and take your time
[67:03]with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala because why you have attained the level
[67:10]of towards Allah now you understand Allah subhana waa hence he will
[67:13]take your time with Allah subh and that's why the Hadith says
[67:18]what one who acknowledges himself one who understands himself and ones who
[67:24]gets one who gets get to a point where he knows himself
[67:28]then indeed he shall acknowledge his Lord and focus again on the
[67:31]word his Lord not his Lord if a person was to be
[67:38]drowning and then they supplicated to Allah subhana wa tala to save
[67:41]them and they miraculously were saved they're going to thank Allah subhanahu
[67:45]wa tala but who their lord the Lord which Lord though the
[67:49]one who saved them from drowning so build the relationship build a
[67:53]personal relationship with Allah especially in these very nights so that he
[67:57]will be your own Savior and then you refer to him as
[68:00]your lord focus on the story of yfam when came on to
[68:07]Y what did he say first of all say God forbid he
[68:15]said God forbid indeed he is my Lord he raised me very
[68:21]well he gave me a good drank meaning he reflected on why
[68:26]because YF Alam acknowledged himself he acknowledged his rank which is the
[68:32]rank of NAA hence he said what so the rank of NAA
[68:38]and thereupon he said what indeed he is my Lord he raised
[68:41]me very well he gave me good he gave me that rank
[68:45]OFA right and understand reflect upon yourself is that you have the
[68:50]rank of being a follower of the and that's such a great
[68:54]rank a rank of being one of the people who are awaiting
[68:57]IM what a great honorable rank in this regard and thereupon we
[69:04]would say that this is the first condition the second condition is
[69:07]is that when we supplicate to Allah subhana tala we supplicate to
[69:11]him sincerely is that we come with a sound and Pure Heart
[69:17]empty from all psychological diseases no one can be able to sit
[69:22]down take it into consideration be it in Salat or be it
[69:26]in reciting the Quran because many of us we just want to
[69:28]finish the Quran in sh Ramadan we want to do of the
[69:31]Quran in sh Ramadan but many of us don't realize that sometimes
[69:34]when you sit down doing either Dua or of the Quran believe
[69:39]it or not if you get to one verse that changes something
[69:44]in you then that's your and that is exactly take it from
[69:49]me by the way I know many people don't like to listen
[69:51]to this believe or not not talking about you many people come
[69:56]and say oh no M no we have to do the yes
[69:59]are important but it depends though if a person sits down and
[70:02]doing Dua and he find one part that changes you keep on
[70:05]repeating this part even if you do it all night even if
[70:09]you do it all night in because that is a revelation from
[70:14]Allah subhana it's an inspiration from Allah subhana wa taala and say
[70:19]sometimes one verse can make a difference in your life if you
[70:22]apply the content of it sure it is is must to do
[70:26]of the Holy Quran in sh Ramadan it is must to read
[70:30]as many verses of the Holy Quran it is must to do
[70:32]many Salat in the Holy Quran and performance Salah this and Salah
[70:37]that sure but if there is one thing that you are able
[70:38]to perfect in this month then do it if there is one
[70:44]waj that you are able to perfect in this month then do
[70:48]it if you are able to make one waj a trend and
[70:49]a habit in this holy month then do it one verse one
[70:53]verse can be more than sufficient as long as you apply the
[70:59]content of this verse one Surah if you apply the content of
[71:01]the Surah can be more than sufficient in this holy month so
[71:05]therefore come to Allah subhana with a sound heart it's impossible to
[71:08]stand on Salat when this heart is actually thinking about everything else
[71:12]when this heart and when this mind are full of psychological diseases
[71:16]there's Envy there's hate there's so forth then it is impossible to
[71:24]focus and thereupon come to Allah subhana t with a sound heart
[71:27]and that's Allah what Allah subhana refers in the Holy Quran as
[71:32]and this is extremely important the the third one inshallah that I
[71:39]would like to finish with in this point in this regard is
[71:43]that when you supplicate always do it in a plural form see
[71:48]many of us sometimes we stand and we ask for private things
[71:54]for personal things we tend to think about themselves when it comes
[72:02]to describing his mother what does he say he says I have
[72:05]never seen in my life such as like my mother FAA never
[72:11]seen a person worshiping Allah subhana tala better than my mother FAA
[72:15]and she never stood in Dua be it in her Sal or
[72:20]in any other Dua except that she put forth the rest of
[72:26]the Muslim before she does Dua to herself right mentions an interesting
[72:34]story he says he talks the story he mentions the story from
[72:38]uh M Muhammad Hussein he's one of the scholars and then he
[72:45]said that he was present in the shrine of Imam Hussein Alam
[72:48]and a person walked into the shrine and then he raised his
[72:50]hand in Dua and he said Allah give me and then believe
[73:00]it or not he began making fun of him he began mocking
[73:04]him he started saying me me me like oh you're just focusing
[73:06]and then he looked at him and he said why don't you
[73:11]challenge Allah meaning what so Allah is generous so challenge your lord
[73:16]pray for others say oh Allah Allah I give us in a
[73:23]plural form so that Allah subhanahu Wa ta'ala Would TR back to
[73:26]you and tell you if you think you are generous then you
[73:29]can never be generous than me and this way Allah will give
[73:31]you and give others in this regard so that's something play pray
[73:38]in the plural form and never ask in Dua for something Haram
[73:41]many people sometimes not asking Dua and something Haram Believe It or
[73:46]Not unfortunately some people have this misunderstanding of what is the whole
[73:49]notion of R from Allah subhana tala or they even ask Allah
[73:52]subh oh I don't know I just oh Allah please make me
[73:56]one the lottery ticket or I'm not saying whether that's a different
[73:58]discussion I don't want to get into that halalam that's a different
[74:01]story but generally speaking I'm talking well Allah subh want you give
[74:04]me something that pleases Allah do Dua for something that pleases Allah
[74:08]believe it or not I remember one time I used to give
[74:12]a a you know a class for a group of guys and
[74:16]this group of guys many of them were far away from religion
[74:18]so I remember one time I was sitting amongst them and I
[74:22]was talking to them about the importance of understanding that to do
[74:25]on Allah when it comes to is that where does it come
[74:29]from comes from Allah so one of them looked at me and
[74:32]he said molana I absolutely believe that R comes from Allah subhana
[74:36]I experienced this handson I said oh alhamdulillah mashallah cuz you know
[74:39]I know he has a little bit of a background maybe not
[74:42]too religious I said that's Wonder wonderful he said yeah there was
[74:45]a point in time where you know that there's there's an area
[74:47]in west of Canada called Fort MCM Mar where many Canadians had
[74:50]to go there for work but it's really rough conditions to work
[74:53]but you get paid a lot long story short he said I
[74:56]was there and then I was in between jobs and I lost
[74:58]all my money and I didn't have a lot of money to
[75:01]pay even for my rent so I really did Dua for Allah
[75:05]subhana to provide me with something at least to just pay my
[75:07]rent or even get something he said then I went downstairs and
[75:11]I just took a walk I decided that I wanted to take
[75:13]a walk I just wanted to change the atmosphere a little I
[75:16]said okay and I said all of a sudden I stepped on
[75:17]something when I stepped on something I picked it up and it
[75:21]was a bag I opened it and it was full of weed
[75:26]alhamdulillah said what wait a second can you rewind the tape a
[75:28]little like what are we talking about here he said yes M
[75:31]it was full of weed and I sold it and I made
[75:32]money and I paid a big portion of my rent I said
[75:36]allaham what you want me to tell you you know this is
[75:40]and your definition said what he said yeah you were just talking
[75:43]about M I said yes no that's not that's a test from
[75:47]Allah subhana tala that's a from thean buddy you know I mean
[75:52]that's not from Allah subhana tala so well so basically when we
[75:56]do supplicate to Allah we ask for something that pleases Allah pleases
[75:59]Allah subh not something that does not please Allah subhana and that's
[76:03]how we get to what we want and there upon you find
[76:08]that Allah subhana always teaches us to have a purpose see focus
[76:10]on this point even in I Islam always wants you to have
[76:17]a purpose and a goal in life in everything you see when
[76:21]you don't have a purpose you won't achieve what you want I'll
[76:24]give you an example how many people people come and say well
[76:25]I'm going to start going to the gym right yeah tomorrow I'm
[76:29]going to start going to the gym you know next Monday I'm
[76:31]going to start going to the right you know next month no
[76:35]no after Shah Ramadan you know after Mam Mam because I'm going
[76:38]to St but they never do I'll tell you why see there's
[76:41]an interesting theory in this regard I'm sorry I'm going to take
[76:43]a bit of your time but I really want to cover this
[76:45]topic so we can understand the following topics that might come and
[76:48]you see I'll tell you why you see it's one thing to
[76:53]have to be motivated and it's a whole other thing to have
[76:56]the intention and that's why Islam does not believe in motivation only
[77:00]you know this whole notion of motivational speeches and motivational videos and
[77:05]life coaches and whatnot and all that on Instagram and mallah many
[77:10]of them are making so much money but to be honest with
[77:12]you it's all empty why because I can sit down here and
[77:16]motivate you to do something all the way up till the morning
[77:18]but if you do not have the intention to reach to something
[77:24]then it is impossible for you to reach it it's absolutely impossible
[77:28]you can be motivated sure and you can go hit the gym
[77:33]or any anything else for instance or in or and so forth
[77:34]you can do it the first night the second night the third
[77:38]night but then after what it just deteriorates why because he never
[77:42]had an intention I remember one time meeting a really interesting personal
[77:46]trainer he said the I'm I'm the least amount of personal trainer
[77:48]that that has clients I don't have enough clients even though he's
[77:51]phenomenal I said why he said because that's the first thing I
[77:56]tell my clients is that what is the type of body that
[77:57]you want to get to they say I don't know well if
[77:59]you don't know I'm not going to train you cuz you'll never
[78:02]get there I'm just going to be taking your money so the
[78:04]same thing with I so Allah subhana T wants you to pinpoint
[78:10]a purpose even in your Dua have a purpose in life always
[78:12]set goals in life and try to get to them so it's
[78:16]interesting if you were to reflect on the life of or for
[78:17]example on Messi Messi which is obviously the best footballer to ever
[78:21]exist in history I'm sorry you don't believe that okay then do
[78:26]Toba this is the best nights for you to do Toba by
[78:28]the way anyways alhamdulillah so yeah you need to do Toba if
[78:34]you don't believe that definitely the best footballer to ever exist in
[78:36]history once he was asked is that why don't you fall down
[78:40]in the D area because if he was to fall down in
[78:41]the D area like his beloved Cristiano Ronaldo if he were to
[78:44]fall down in the D area believe it or not he would
[78:48]always get a penalty now what Messi said is that no I
[78:50]look at the gold right in front of me and to me
[78:52]I just want to get to it I'm not going to let
[78:55]anything distract me and believe it or not the same thing when
[78:56]it comes to all Islam wants you to always have a purpose
[79:00]wants you to set a goal and get to it if you're
[79:01]not going to have a purpose even from a very young age
[79:05]always set a purpose then you won't achieve anything or you won't
[79:08]achieve it in the way that you want to achieve it or
[79:12]what you want the right results even in Dua and this the
[79:14]biggest proof is the Quran when the verses that we started with
[79:22]said and then after that what why why did ask for all
[79:27]this if you were to read inah when so he pinpointed the
[79:36]purpose is that I'm asking you for all these things why so
[79:38]we can glorify you greatly what does that mean it doesn't mean
[79:42]that he wants to sit down and say Subhan Allah Subhan Allah
[79:47]no what wants from this is to literally say oh Allah so
[79:51]we can spread Justice on this Earth we can transform that Coptic
[79:54]Society to be a society of what of Believers and Ms in
[79:59]Allah subh tala and there thereupon we would do and a practical
[80:02]form not only Subhan Allah Subhan Allah you have a choice you
[80:07]can sit down and do Subhan Allah all you want or you
[80:10]can glorify Allah subhanahu wa taala in your own actions your own
[80:13]actions are glorification of Allah everything that you commit is go and
[80:20]we can remember you greatly remember with what not only with words
[80:24]and saying oh allahar alhamdulillah and so forth no but even in
[80:30]our own action which is considered the Practical form of so thereupon
[80:34]it is important to pinpoint a purpose I took much of your
[80:37]time inshallah I will leave a point till uh tomorrow night inshallah
[80:42]as we would also I'm still introducing the whole notion of our
[80:45]topic for the following 15 nights inshallah when I'm here at your
[80:49]service thank you for very much and uh for having me for
[80:53]tonight and uh look forward forward to seeing you within the following
[80:56]nights we raise our hands in Dua and say thank you again
[81:32]for coming and in we resume the program tomorrow at 9:30 sharp
[81:36]with uh we'll start with Dua and we'll continue with after that
[81:42]thank you shw thank you everyone
