[0:14]muhammad we are continuing the commentary on one of the most important
[0:34]sermons of emir and that is the sermon the controversial sermon and
[0:45]the famous sermon by the name of al-khutbah and in the sermon
[0:53]talks about the khilafah and he talks about his role with regards
[0:58]to the qadhafi and how three times the qadhafi was taken away
[1:04]from him even though he was appointed by rasulullah even though he
[1:09]was the most qualified individual to take on the position of means
[1:16]leadership so we explained in the first two sessions that how the
[1:24]first one came and he took the khilafah from emirate and then
[1:30]he passed it on to the second the first abu bakr took
[1:36]it and then he passed it on to um and then described
[1:41]how much carnage and how much you know difficulties and challenges and
[1:47]problems emerged as a result of those two and then he says
[1:54]but i was patient abu bakr ruled for two years and then
[1:58]came and he ruled for 10 years so now you have 12
[2:03]years now in this part we're going to talk about how the
[2:10]the khilafah was once again taken from and uthman was appointed as
[2:19]the khalifa and he ruled for 12 years so now amir al-mu'min
[2:24]the khilafah finally came to him after 24 years after the death
[2:30]of rasulallah finally the khanafa comes to him i'm going to just
[2:36]read the the top the part from the sermon and then we
[2:41]will explain it he says [Music] he describes how the khilafah was
[3:48]taken away from him in this part in this segment of first
[3:54]the sativa and we all know we explained what the sativa was
[4:07]you have the the muslim community in madina is two groups you
[4:13]have the muhajireen and the ansar are those who migrated from mecca
[4:18]to madina they are the muhajiren because they did hijrah they migrated
[4:20]and then you have the ansar the helpers so the ansar they
[4:25]were gathered in the sativa because they they were seeing they were
[4:29]feeling that something was going to happen they were gathering they were
[4:35]feeling that there's going to be a group of people that are
[4:37]going to rebel against imam so they were saying if someone's going
[4:40]to take power it has to be us while they're sitting there
[4:45]and they're just talking no one is giving bay no one is
[4:48]doing anything they're just discussing amongst themselves you have three individuals and
[4:54]a third by the name of abu baidal he they go and
[5:05]there suddenly omar he says the khalifa the the khalifa of rasulallah
[5:14]they were divided amongst one one one another the os they come
[5:19]and they side with abu bakr and then that's it the the
[5:23]then they start forcing the the maya to be given to abu
[5:29]bakr and then after that they go and they attack the house
[5:32]of fatima to zara to take out amir and mu'mineen and to
[5:34]force the khilafah and to silence any opposition that there may be
[5:40]against the khilafah of abu bakr then after two years after two
[5:45]years of abu bakr ruling abu bakr is on his deathbed he
[5:53]appoints ahmad now remember they said that the rasool allah does not
[5:56]appoint no one has the right to appoint it this is a
[6:00]matter that has to be with the muslims but anyways rules for
[6:06]10 years now at the end of his life he was assassinated
[6:12]a man by the name of abu lullah he came and he
[6:15]stabbed he stabbed um [Music] became injured and then after that he
[6:27]thought of a plan to choose the next khalifa after him so
[6:32]you see that each time there was a different method of choosing
[6:37]the khalifa first it was the satifa a group of people and
[6:40]it was a very a big mess and these are not according
[6:43]to our words these are according to the words of um he
[6:47]says the the the way of choosing the khalifa and the sativa
[6:51]was a fitnah it was a fitna that allah protected us from
[6:59]its shatter from its evils and then later on abu bakr he
[7:07]appoints and then now um he thinks of a genius way of
[7:12]appointing the next khalifa but you will see that this was such
[7:19]a sloppy way and such a rigged way and it doesn't even
[7:25]make sense it doesn't even make sense and the way the third
[7:31]khalifa was chosen talks about this he says i know what to
[7:40]do we're going to pick six men from the sahaba of rasulallah
[7:46]he says after i die after i die i want these six
[7:53]men to gather in a room to gather in a place and
[7:55]i want them to decide who the next khalifa is amongst amongst
[8:00]these six men that he nominates who are these fans [Music] he
[8:34]says they have to gather in a room and during they have
[8:39]three days to pick the khalifa during those three days sahib sahib
[8:44]he's going to be the sitting the set in khalifa for those
[8:49]three days now he says if they disagree if you have three
[8:54]on one side and three on the other side then support should
[8:58]be given and my opinion in his opinion is with the group
[9:04]the khalifa should be with the group that sides with he comes
[9:10]and he says the support should be given so it's already rigged
[9:15]it's not even it's six individuals and then the side with an
[9:21]auf is the side that basically should be supported and if anyone
[9:25]disagrees with the opinion of then there are 50 men who should
[9:33]be outside and they will kill whoever goes against this verdict so
[9:39]this is a way of choosing a khalifa and remember the khalifa
[9:45]is someone who is the divine representative of allah someone who explains
[9:49]the quran someone who teaches us what islam is someone who should
[9:55]be following in the footsteps of rasulallah this is the way that
[10:00]supposedly he's going to be chosen three you have six people out
[10:03]of the muslims and then the side with abdul rahman bin auf
[10:06]is the side that is supported and if anyone goes against it
[10:09]they're going to be killed now there are several issues with this
[10:13]the first issue is that amir al-msra they were illegitimate to begin
[10:24]with how can abu bakr come and choose omar when his kalafa
[10:27]was illegitimate it wasn't by the order of allah and it wasn't
[10:30]by the order of rasulallah and according to um it was a
[10:38]mess so he came and he appointed he appointed amma and now
[10:43]omar who was unlawfully the khalifa according to amir mu'min through what
[10:49]he's trying to say is now he comes and he brings this
[10:56]mess and the reason why it was such a mess some scholars
[10:59]and some they say that omar he came and he thought of
[11:03]this plan because umar was actually intoxicated omar was hallucinating during the
[11:07]time of his death they say and this is a hadith from
[11:11]bukhari hadith he says that when omar was stabbed so they came
[11:18]and they brought him some milk some eben they brought him some
[11:23]milk and he began to drink from it and it became it
[11:26]began to come out of his sides and began to come out
[11:32]of his sides so he tells them bring me nabiv bring me
[11:36]nabeed what's nabeed nabeed is wine he says bring me some wine
[11:41]and he began to drink wine in his last moments and during
[11:46]his last you know however long he he remained after he was
[11:49]stabbed he was drinking wine and this is in a hadith that
[11:53]is narrated by bukhari i looked it up today so and the
[12:00]irony here when someone drinks wine when someone drinks alcohol what happens
[12:05]to them they become intoxicated they become drunk the irony is that
[12:10]he was intoxicated because he was drinking wine and he comes and
[12:16]he makes this weird way of choosing the khalifa this weird way
[12:20]of choosing the leader you have six man the whoever does not
[12:24]agree with the the minority they should be killed and you know
[12:27]this weird way that has we've never heard of rasulullah never did
[12:31]anything like that rasulullah never said anything like that it's not in
[12:34]the quran in fact though the khilafah is in need appointed by
[12:42]allah there's nothing about being appointed by god no one not not
[12:46]there's not a mention of someone being appointed by allah he is
[12:51]intoxicated and he's telling people this is how you choose the third
[12:53]khalifa and the irony is that also bukhari says that when rasool
[13:00]allah was on his deathbed rasool allah tells them bring me a
[13:09]pen and a shoulder they used to write on the shoulder of
[13:14]the lamb he says something that you shall never go astray after
[13:26]it meaning give me i want to write my will you know
[13:30]what did omar he says he says the man is hallucinating leave
[13:41]him leave him he doesn't need to write right now he's not
[13:45]even in his right mind this is how they talk about rasulallah
[13:49]but now if for example someone comes and says you know uh
[13:56]had drunk wine according to bukhari some they say how can you
[14:01]talk about um that way so is it okay for someone to
[14:04]talk about rasulullah is our our we worry more about others than
[14:11]we worry about rasulallah anyways so then so now you know he's
[14:18]injured he's hallucinating he's drinking nabith and now he thinks of this
[14:28]marvelous idea it's a basically today some people they come and they
[14:32]say the the prophets should not appoint the leader because the leadership
[14:38]is it goes back to the muslims they choose just as the
[14:43]muslims they chose abu bakr even though in the sacrifice there was
[14:45]just a handful of muslims and umar was not chosen through the
[14:50]surah and uthman what kind of ashura was it surah means counsel
[14:57]meaning democracy let the muslims choose so if it's if it's muslims
[15:02]have the right to choose then why is it that only these
[15:07]six men why is it that only these six men today in
[15:11]the view of the majority sunni muslims they say that that the
[15:16]um the muslims the the sahaba they're all they're all the theory
[15:22]is that they're all good men they're all good individuals they don't
[15:25]do anything haram so why did ahmad abner only choose six of
[15:31]these men why did he not choose all of the other sahaba
[15:34]are there some sahaba that are better than other sahaba i don't
[15:38]know that's what we say we the shias we say that there
[15:42]were some sahaba that deserve and they're worthy of us following them
[15:47]and appreciating them and learning from them and there were others who
[15:50]were hypocrites there were others who were sinners there were others who
[15:53]did wrong but they come and they say no no you talk
[15:55]bad about the sahaba so why is it that um you only
[15:59]chose six and he didn't choose all of the other sahaba this
[16:02]is one question another why is it is the deciding factor what's
[16:09]you know what's so significant about abdul rahman ibn awf yes was
[16:14]one of the wealthiest of the sahaba he was one of the
[16:22]wealthiest of the sahaba of rasulullah about those who were the first
[16:34]to join the religion of islam those who sacrificed the most those
[16:36]who did the most of course if you want to measure with
[16:39]that then of course it would be and then the other issue
[16:45]why should the minority be killed if for example the i am
[16:50]in the minority group and i did not agree with the others
[16:52]why is it that my blood becomes have i committed a crime
[16:57]have i done anything wrong we have the freedom of expression we
[17:00]have the freedom to say no i don't want this person i'm
[17:02]not happy with this person why is it that someone who's in
[17:06]the minority if they don't agree they should be killed allah tells
[17:10]us if someone has killed someone then yes there's capital punishment in
[17:13]islam if someone did something wrong oppression they did something that is
[17:19]involved killing other people then they're killed but if someone has a
[17:23]an opinion that doesn't go with the you know the popular opinion
[17:28]does this mean that this person has to be killed here once
[17:31]again this was the ruling so here according to the words of
[17:36]this part of the sermon he says that the system other than
[17:41]all of these things it's only six why abdullah why should the
[17:47]minority be killed and all of these other issues he comes and
[17:51]he tries to point out that the system that they placed him
[17:54]a part of with the five others was a rigged system was
[17:59]a messed up system and it was set up in a way
[18:05]where the khilafah would would never go to ali now someone might
[18:08]come and say okay here are six let them come and choose
[18:12]no but it wasn't just like that the six individuals that were
[18:16]chosen they were individuals that had biases against so there was a
[18:24]guarantee that imam ali was not going to be chosen how so
[18:36]his mother his mother was from benihashem so he is related so
[18:44]the only person who will side with imam ali is related to
[18:50]imam ali from his mother's side and in fact on the day
[18:55]of on the day of the house the the day of the
[18:56]attack of the house of fatima to zara he drew his sword
[19:01]he drew his sword and he was ready to fight for the
[19:05]sake of and he was he was you know he was standing
[19:11]in defense now later on he was killed in the battle of
[19:17]german fighting against imam allah as we will point out later and
[19:22]there's other reasons that came in the way but as uber he
[19:25]he was with imam ali and he sided with imam ali and
[19:30]on the day of satisfy he was with imam ali but you
[19:32]have 24 years you have about 24 years things change and imam
[19:38]allah his son grew older and he shifted and he made his
[19:52]father be against imam and we will inshallah explain this in the
[19:58]upcoming sessions so the only one who sides with imam ali is
[20:02]and then you have on the other side you have uthman ibn
[20:08]afan who's from beni now the umayyads they have major issues against
[20:17]bani hashem abu sufyan is from there are several individuals from bani
[20:24]umayya that hated imam ali and hated rasulullah they could not stand
[20:32]imam ali probably they had more hatred to imam ali than even
[20:37]rasulullah why because it was the sword of imam ali that was
[20:40]dripping with their blood and the battle of badr in the battle
[20:44]of the battle of in in the battles of khandak and other
[20:47]battles it was imam ali alaihissalam who was the sword of rasulullah
[20:52]so some they hated and despised him they they literally they hated
[21:01]me in a way he's related to abdul rahman ibn haaf [Music]
[21:28]his son was the general of the army that fought and killed
[21:33]imam and hussain alaihis so you have umar the son of sad
[21:40]and this man saddam he was one of those men who also
[21:45]had hatred for imam ali salaam and he never voted he never
[21:51]sided with imam ali salaam so sad he is also in the
[21:58]sixth so you have uthman he's definitely benny umayyah he despises amir
[22:04]al-mu'min and then you have abdul-rahman alf the third individual he is
[22:13]married to uthman's sister he's married to uthman's sister so obviously at
[22:19]that time these relationships and marriage these are going to strengthen ties
[22:24]so he's definitely going to be voting for uthman and then the
[22:31]fourth individual is from the same tribe as abu bakr the tribe
[22:39]of tame quraysh the the tribe of quraish there were several tribes
[22:42]you have the tribe of bani hashem for example and you also
[22:50]have the tribe of tame tame is the tribe of abu bakr
[22:53]is from the same tribe as abu bakr and after abu bakr
[22:57]was chosen as the khalifa there were some issues between bani hashem
[23:04]and between tam the tribe of hashem and the tribe of thing
[23:07]so he had issues against benihaja and obviously that means he's not
[23:15]going to pick someone from any hashem because those days it was
[23:17]all about tribes even if someone was qualified i'm not going to
[23:21]choose someone over my tribe and since they gave my man a
[23:26]difficult time then i'm not going to choose anyone from them so
[23:29]you have a rigged system against imam ali you have uthman who's
[23:38]from you have from tim you have abdul rahman ibn awf who's
[23:41]married to the sister of of uh uthman and you have who
[23:49]said who also has hatred for imam ali alayhi salaam and saddam
[23:54]and abi he says i give my vote to abdul rahmani whoever
[23:58]abdul rahman ibn af chooses then my vote is also with him
[24:02]so the only one who sides so what ended up happening now
[24:12]some they come and they say that was appointed by omar but
[24:17]was not even present that he wasn't even there so either if
[24:22]he was there he definitely voted for uthman or he would have
[24:27]voted for uthman so it was a guaran guaranteed for uthman but
[24:31]even if he's not there you have in another way it's it's
[24:39]rigged towards uthman so the only one who would vote for him
[24:42]and all the others they would side with uthman because either of
[24:48]family issues or because of their own hatred so what ended up
[24:54]happening was that um when they gathered in the room after burying
[25:00]um they came and they gathered in the room and they had
[25:03]50 men standing with swords outside the room they gathered in the
[25:10]room immediately he knows it's not going to come to him there
[25:13]are others that have higher rank and higher chances of receiving it
[25:19]so right away he says i give my vote to uthman so
[25:21]utman has one vote now he says he knows he's not going
[25:28]to receive it so he says i give my vote to ali
[25:31]ibn so now uthman has one vote ali ibn has one vote
[25:37]now he said i'm not going to vote he said my vote
[25:43]is the same vote as so he says whatever abdul rahman bin
[25:53]auf chooses i'm going to agree with so now the issue comes
[25:55]down to abdul rahman bin auf that was it voted for one
[26:01]as zubair voted for one and if according to the opinion there
[26:05]are difference of opinions some say that was not there if he
[26:09]was not there then saddam and abhi wakasa's vote would fill in
[26:14]the votes of talhah so anyways it would still work out against
[26:19]but according to some they say that no al how was there
[26:24]he voted for uthman zubair voted for imam ali and then you
[26:28]have abdul rahman bin auf he came to emira he tells him
[26:35]he tells him i will vote for you but he knows that
[26:42]is a man of principles he knows that is a man who
[26:47]sticks with his values and his principles and he's not going to
[26:52]compromise so he gave him a difficult situation a difficult circumstance where
[26:56]amir nina would have to say no he tells him i would
[26:58]vote for you but if i vote for you you would have
[27:03]to follow the sunnah you have to follow the teachings of the
[27:05]quran and you have to follow the sunnah of rasulallah and the
[27:10]sunnah of the shaykh you have to follow the tradition if they
[27:14]said this is you have to follow it they said this is
[27:19]haram you have to follow it and as we know he changed
[27:22]many things many things for example he took it out of the
[27:27]adam he made the muslims start praying salat talawi he made the
[27:30]muslims fold their hands while they're praying several things so he tells
[27:33]me if i vote for you you would have to follow what
[27:37]god said the prophets and um he says no i will if
[27:46]i'm a leader i will follow the quran and the sunnah of
[27:49]rasulullah and maya and my understanding of islam so right away he
[27:54]tells him okay then i'm going to go to uthman if i
[27:58]give you will you follow the prophet and the shaykh abu bakr
[28:03]and he tells him yes of course i will it gives him
[28:06]his hand and he gives them allegiance now voted for uthman and
[28:23]they were forced to concede and they were forced to accept the
[28:28]results because you have 50 sword men that are outside that are
[28:31]going to kill them and what's the point of coming and standing
[28:33]and being in the minority when you're not even going to get
[28:39]anything so now abu bakr had ruled for two years uh ammar
[28:42]ruled for 10 years and uthman ruled for 12 years he is
[28:51]sitting without a position and he is the khalifa of rasulallah for
[28:55]24 years so now we will read from we will explain this
[29:06]he says i was patient during the whole time despite the length
[29:11]of period and stiffness of trial meaning during the time of abu
[29:15]bakr and omar and then he says until he was going to
[29:24]die he died but he put the matter of the khilafah in
[29:29]a group and regarded me to be one of them meaning he
[29:33]came and he put me in a group and he said yeah
[29:37]you're with this group what is trying to say first he's trying
[29:40]to say that i was never a part of the deciding group
[29:44]because the the the the committee was rigged and set up to
[29:51]be against me so i i never had a choice i never
[29:53]had a voice from the beginning he came and it was it
[29:57]looked like amir al-mu'min was a part of the sixth and he
[29:58]had a chance of being the khalifa but he never had a
[30:02]chance from the beginning and he tells ibn abbas he tells them
[30:06]they put me in a group that you know that for sure
[30:10]i'm never going to be elected i'm never going to be selected
[30:13]imagine you have a board and you have 10 people that are
[30:18]that have one view and one person who has a different view
[30:21]obviously his word is never going to count his word is never
[30:25]going to no one's going to accept his word because he's put
[30:30]in a minority he is in a minority so he says he
[30:33]claimed that i was one of them but i was never one
[30:38]of them other scholars they understand this at a different way he
[30:44]says he regarded me to be one of them meaning he came
[30:46]and he placed me at the level of these individuals when i'm
[30:49]not even at their level i was appointed by god on the
[30:54]day of gadir i was appointed by rasool allah they come and
[30:56]they put me with these men who one of them ran away
[31:00]in the war in the battle one of them each one had
[31:02]their own issues each one had their own problems they come and
[31:05]they put me i was the first muslim i was the one
[31:08]who was with rasulullah i was raised they come and they put
[31:14]me with them i'm not even at their level and then he
[31:19][Music] says he says but good heavens what had i to do
[31:38]with this consultation this surah where was any doubt about me with
[31:44]regard to the first of them that i was now considered akin
[31:48]to these ones but i remained low when they were low and
[31:51]flew high when they flew high meaning he's trying to say what
[31:56]kind of a rigged shura consultation is this you can't even compare
[32:07]me with the first of them meaning abu bakr meaning abu bakr
[32:11]was not even supposed to i can't even compe be compared with
[32:17]abu bakr that now they put me with this group so now
[32:19]abu bakr comes and then umar comes and then now they put
[32:22]me in a group of six yeah we're going to do you
[32:25]a favor we're putting you in this group of six people maybe
[32:27]you get you get elected maybe you get selected but then he
[32:32]says however i flew low when they flew low and i flew
[32:43]high when they flew high what is he talking about he's talking
[32:45]about the birds have you seen the birds sometimes a flock of
[32:50]birds they fly together and they come down and they go up
[32:52]together basically amir and mommy is trying to say for the purpose
[32:57]of unity i played along with the silly game of theirs so
[33:00]that no one could come and say later on oh we could
[33:03]have yeah we were gonna choose but he refused to be a
[33:08]part of the six so therefore we um yeah we're excused that
[33:13]we didn't choose he made sure that no one has an excuse
[33:18]because he offered himself he offered his help and then they went
[33:24]against him for the third time in the first time abu bakr
[33:28]and then and then now uthman has been chosen but he says
[33:33]i came and i played along so that later on oh first
[33:36]for the purpose of unity so that no one comes and says
[33:38]breaking the unity of the muslims and second so that no one
[33:43]could come and say oh yeah i would have put ali but
[33:45]he was not even in that group if he was in that
[33:51]group then he would have been elected he says one of them
[34:08]turned against me one of the six one of them turned against
[34:12]me because of his hatred and the other got inclined the other
[34:16]way due to his in-law relationships and this thing and that thing
[34:21]so what is amir al-mu'min saying he says one of them had
[34:29]hatred for ali now this could have been either either of the
[34:35]two s who had known hatred for ahmedabad he never gave bay
[34:42]ah or and son as uh his son is so that's one
[34:48]who had hatred and the second it could also apply to who
[34:54]did not like he was with tame and because there was issue
[35:01]we mentioned there was issue between benihashim and tame he right away
[35:05]he chose uthman and as soon as the khilafah came to amir
[35:08]al-mu'min we will explain later he leaves and he goes to mecca
[35:14]and then from there he goes to basra and he is one
[35:16]of those who wage a war against not even he had hatred
[35:20]for amir and mohammed so the hate fasaga he's talking about one
[35:25]of them so if we were to say that was not even
[35:28]there in mecca according to some view then then that means you
[35:32]would be talking about saddam and if he was there then it
[35:36]would apply to talhah because he gave his vote to abdullah he
[35:41]says whatever chooses then i will side with this person and then
[35:46]he says and the second one he voted for his brother-in-law for
[35:53]his in-law who is that that was who's married to uthman's sister
[35:59]so he's married to uthman's sister of course he's going to come
[36:04]and choose uthman because of the family and marriage relationships and then
[36:10]he says meaning and this thing and that thing basically some silly
[36:17]petty things it means here some they come and they understand this
[36:25]that abdullah so what does he do he comes and he votes
[36:33]for him he tells him you know what i'm a rich man
[36:37]i'm going to vote for my brother-in-law scratch his back he scratches
[36:41]my back the same way abu bakr and um they scratched each
[36:43]other's back and sativa and in sativa um he comes and he
[36:48]he's the first to give bay to abu bakr and then on
[36:50]his deathbed so he says we're going to do the same thing
[36:53]i i point i vote for him now he's going to vote
[36:59]for me if i vote for ali is a man of principles
[37:02]a man of values is not going to come and vote for
[37:07]me he's going to go and deal with it in a different
[37:10]way but i could make a you know a deal with uthman
[37:16]so this is what he had in mind and this is what
[37:18]is referring to but subhanallah he gave his vote to uthman he
[37:35]tells him he tells him may there be animosity between you that
[37:41]this animosity will not be resolved because he thought he was my
[37:44]buddy i'm gonna vote for him later on he's gonna vote for
[37:47]me imam ali says there's going to be animosity between you two
[37:50]and this is exactly what happened there was animosity between abdul rahman
[37:55]bin auf that they did not speak to each other after that
[38:01]day until uthman was killed and one of those who instigated against
[38:05]uthman was himself they were related he's his brother-in-law but they began
[38:12]to hate each other and abdul-rahman alf did not ever speak to
[38:15]uthman and he instigated until uthman was killed because he chose him
[38:21]for the sake of this dunya while he knew that imam ali
[38:25]was the one who was more worthy they all knew imam ali
[38:28]was more worthy even um they asked him when he picked those
[38:33]six they tell him why did you pick these six he says
[38:35]because these i know that rasulallah was satisfied with them so then
[38:39]he calls them one by one and he begins to give his
[38:43]honest opinion regarding every single one of them he says as for
[38:46]you you're angry when you're when you're one of them uh zubair
[38:49]he says when you're when you're when you're calm you're a man
[38:52]but when you're angry you become this and that each one he
[38:58]gave them he said about about uthman he said this man if
[39:00]he comes to power he's going to bring his whole family his
[39:02]whole relatives and this is exactly what happened he said he's the
[39:08]one who will rule justly and rightfully but he didn't select him
[39:12]even though he knew that he would be the one who would
[39:15]rule rightfully he says till the third man of these people meaning
[39:30]uthman because the first was so the third man of these people
[39:37]stood up with having breasts between his dung and father so here
[39:41]he says meaning he has his chest up what is this a
[39:49]sign of if someone's walking and they have their chest up meaning
[39:51]someone who's arrogant someone who's very proud someone who does not take
[39:56]opinions someone who does not listen to other people someone who does
[40:01]not listen to advisers he says he came and he had his
[40:05]his chest high bain nephew is the extreme extreme of the animal
[40:17]the manure they call that nephel and the aleph is the food
[40:22]of the cattle so basically he's trying to say that he was
[40:24]so arrogant it's it's an eloquent way of i'm saying that he
[40:28]was so proud that he made such a messy situation and the
[40:33]excrement were all mixed together you know they say someone they messed
[40:37]up they they made they made such a mess that i don't
[40:41]want to use the foul language but you know the the expression
[40:44]when someone you know makes such a mess and the the blank
[40:48]hits the fan basically that's what menin is he was so proud
[40:59]between between the food of the cattle and between his own excrement
[41:03]meaning it was it was such a mess so then he begins
[41:09]to describe what did uthman begin to do he says and with
[41:32]him his children of his grandfather meaning the umayyads some ask how
[41:38]did many umayya come to power umayya when in the year 60
[41:43]after hijra they killed imam and hussain the war was declared the
[41:47]battle of suffering against where thousands of muslims were killed how did
[41:50]many umayya become so empowered it was because of uthman he came
[41:55]and he brought bani umayya into power so he says and with
[42:01]him the children of his grandfather umayyah also stood up swallowing up
[42:04]allah's wealth like a camel devouring the foliage of spring till his
[42:10]rope broke his actions finished him and his glute and he brought
[42:15]him down prostrate so basically he says we know the history of
[42:23]benjamin it's not a secret that bene umayya waged the war the
[42:25]battle of badr in the battle of the battle of against rasulullah
[42:30]and later on later on the last the after after the opening
[42:37]of mecca they come and they join islam and abu sufyan and
[42:40]this man from bani umayya they come and they join and some
[42:45]of them they were kicked out of my kicked out of madina
[42:48]for example one of them he used to walk behind the prophet
[42:56]making fun of him making faces so rasulallah kicked him out and
[43:02]he sent him he excommunicated him and he sent him to which
[43:07]is a place that has better weather than medina he sent him
[43:12]over there he says go and stay there don't come here.
[43:14]uthman when he comes he brings him back and the son of
[43:21]this man is marwan he marries the daughter of uthman and he
[43:25]becomes the man who's leading and ruling the affairs of the muslim
[43:31]government so uthman comes to power as soon as he comes he
[43:35]begins to give his relatives money here and there this one you
[43:38]get the zakat that comes from africa this one you get this
[43:42]you get a hundred thousand here and there he started giving them
[43:45]abu sufyan abu sufyan the one who was fighting the prophet in
[43:51]bedroom he was blind the day uthman was selected he gathers many
[43:54]umayya and then he begins to tell them and this is narrated
[43:59]by masrodi and tabari he begins to tell them khilafah between you
[44:22]pass it like a ball is passed between kids you know how
[44:27]how you pass it one to another you could keep it you
[44:30]could you could keep it with your with yourselves he says and
[44:46]there's no heaven and there's no nar and there's no hell and
[44:58]let it be with your children with your kids let it be
[45:01]an issue of inheritance and this is what exactly happened after uthman
[45:08]was killed marawi declared himself the khalifa the son of abu sufyan
[45:11]and then he passed it on to yazid and then yazid killed
[45:16]imam and hussain and then marwan kept on going for 80 years
[45:21]for 80 years or 90 years until um they lost their power
[45:26]it kept going and going and going they killed so many of
[45:29]the imams imam al-bakr was the last of the imams to be
[45:31]killed by benue so so many crimes were committed because many umayya
[45:39]were allowed to come to power and it was because of those
[45:42]individuals who brought them to power so uthman began there was so
[45:49]much corruption now not only this is not what a person is
[45:52]saying these are according to the sahaba the muslims of the time
[45:57]they rebelled against the corruption of uthman see when abu bakr and
[46:03]umar were where the power they they kept the at least within
[46:08]its boundaries yes they did they did certain things which were deviations
[46:12]they changed the laws of god but at least they didn't you
[46:16]know come and live such a a a lifestyle where they're they're
[46:21]so comfortable and they're doing this and that they still they still
[46:23]you know kept the outer outer image of a khalifa even though
[46:29]deep inside they did a lot of changes but man no he
[46:32]didn't care uthman he started bringing his family he started persecuting the
[46:38]muslims he started persecuting him he sent a buddha to die all
[46:42]alone was beat up but by the orders of uthman and many
[46:48]many so many acts of corruption took place and a lot of
[46:52]money corruption a lot of it that had to do with money
[46:54]so now you have muslims from basra muslims from kufa muslims from
[46:59]egypt they come and they rebel against uthman until they kill uthman
[47:05]they kill him the khalifa the third khalifa of rasulallah today the
[47:11]muslims they killed him because they saw he was so corrupt and
[47:15]after killing him they refused to bury him in the muslim cemetery
[47:20]they buried him on the other side of the of the and
[47:24]they refused to bury him in the muslim cemetery later on once
[47:26]ma'awe came to power he brought down the wall of the cemetery
[47:29]and he expanded the cemetery so that uthman would be inside the
[47:35]cemetery once they kill him and he says he says exactly why
[47:41]he was killed he says he says he says they came and
[47:48]they took he says he brought bani umayya and they came and
[47:51]they started eating devouring the full foil it foliage of the spring
[47:56]you know in the spring when when the when the trees and
[48:00]the fruits they first start growing you're not supposed to touch them
[48:02]you're supposed to wait for for them to grow and then you
[48:05]come and you pick the plants he says as soon as it's
[48:10]growing they came and they started eating like the camel eats whatever
[48:14]it grows in the spring which you're not supposed to touch at
[48:17]that time you're supposed to wait meaning they didn't leave anything for
[48:18]the muslims until his own actions finished him and he caused his
[48:29]own demise and it was his stomach his greed that brought him
[48:38]down prostrating and falling to the ground so the muslims killed him
[48:43]now of course later on later on you have two battles that
[48:46]are waged against imam ali the battle of uh the battle of
[48:49]uh jammeh and the battle of safin they were waged against amir
[48:54]and million with the excuse that something to do with the murder
[48:57]of uthman even though amir muhammed tried to save the life of
[49:01]uthman but he had nothing to do with it then once they
[49:04]killed him then comes i don't want to go too much longer
[49:10]i'm going to um continue the next part in the next session
[49:13]inshallah where we will conclude foreign
