[0:14]foreign inshallah we are going to be concluding the commentary on the
[0:36]sermon which is sermon number three and and it is the sermon
[0:46]that means talks about talks about the caliphate and he describes how
[0:51]it was taken away from how he was the most qualified how
[0:54]it was taken away from him and the sapha and then abu
[0:59]bakr passed it on to omar and then umar passed it on
[1:02]to uthman through the system of the six men six men voting
[1:07]and then we mentioned how he he was talking about the corruption
[1:14]that was taking place during the time of uthman and then of
[1:18]man he brought it down upon himself until the muslims killed him
[1:21]then the muslims they came running alive of course then several groups
[1:32]emerged and they blamed the murder of uthman on imam because he
[1:38]because the khilafah came to him after uthman so they were pointing
[1:44]the fingers saying imam ali alayhi salaam he was the one who
[1:50]basically tried to get uthman killed and and he was responsible for
[1:56]the murder of uthman when amir al-mu'min had nothing to do with
[2:03]it in fact he tried to save the life of utman even
[2:05]though he doesn't agree with uthman even though uthman did many things
[2:09]that brought his own demise amir and mohammed tried to save his
[2:14]life so inshallah we'll talk about this and i want to go
[2:17]a little bit in detail on what did uthman do why did
[2:22]the muslims kill him and who was responsible in in the murder
[2:31]of uthman so that later on we will understand how emir was
[2:34]oppressed once again when they blamed him for the murder of uthman
[2:42]so after 20 years of being patient after 20 years of not
[2:48]having a position even though he was the closest person to rasulullah
[2:52]even though he was the first muslim he was even though he
[2:57]was the first defender of islam had no role whatsoever during the
[3:03]khilafah of abu bakr which was for two years and then the
[3:07]which was for 10 years and then the khilafah of uthman which
[3:13]was for 12 years so 24 years was not given an official
[3:17]position yes of course amir minin because he was worried about islam
[3:21]he was worried about the muslim community about the quran so he
[3:24]would teach and he would he would guide them when they would
[3:29]come and they would ask him questions but other than that was
[3:33]not given any specific role so after the 24 years now the
[3:41]muslims they come running begging him to take the position of leadership
[3:46]so what happened why was uthman killed uthman was killed emiliano he
[3:54]said earlier we were saying he said because of his own because
[3:58]of what he caused his own downfall and the people the corruption
[4:19]became very widespread he brought his family umayyah the umayyads and he
[4:24]was giving them money here and there the people of medina who
[4:29]many of them were sahaba of rasulullah they're the companions of the
[4:34]prophet and the people of the major cities you have kufa kufa
[4:38]was a major city in and basra is in the south of
[4:42]kufa is right now very close to najaf so these were the
[4:46]two major cities in iraq and they were called the two cities
[4:52]that time baghdad did not exist karbala did not exist all of
[4:57]these places they weren't developed so you had kufa and you had
[5:00]basra which were cities and the people of these cities they were
[5:07]very upset with what was going on so they come and they
[5:12]want to protest so they go they do umrah they say we're
[5:15]doing umrah we're going from these cities oh you also had uh
[5:19]the people from he also had people from egypt coming as well
[5:24]so they go to mecca to do the umrah and then instead
[5:28]of going back home instead of going back to their own cities
[5:31]they come to medina which is which is about you know for
[5:35]about it's like a three four hour drive right now from uh
[5:41]from mecca to medina so it's a it's a ten day probably
[5:45]a ten day camel ride between medina they come and then they
[5:53]gather around the house of uthman and they tell him what's all
[5:56]this oppression what's all of this corruption and we want our rights
[6:03]of course the it didn't escalate very you know it took a
[6:06]very long time over those 12 years it took about 12 years
[6:12]for the muslims to lose their patience with uthman you know uthman
[6:15]as soon as he came to power he started breaking the rules
[6:19]of islam and the customs that the previous had placed before him
[6:24]even though they were the like abu bakr and omar it wasn't
[6:29]their rightful position but they didn't live an extravagant lifestyle uthman on
[6:33]the other hand the khilafah did not belong to him just like
[6:36]abu bakr and umar but he lived a very extravagant lifestyle where
[6:39]he made many of the muslims very upset and angry with him
[6:44]so and he began to break many rules for example when omar
[6:48]was killed umar was killed by a persian his name is abu
[6:56]luna and he killed he killed amar and he escaped so his
[7:00]son his son he goes and he kills two innocent persians he's
[7:09]looking for abu luna he doesn't find him he comes and he
[7:12]kills two innocent persians so when emiliano he found out he said
[7:16]he needs to be held accountable uthman had just taken power he
[7:20]said his father was just killed we don't want to cause another
[7:22]problem leave him amir moment said that if power comes to me
[7:25]one day i'm going to hold him responsible because he killed two
[7:28]innocent people so this was one then he began to do things
[7:34]where the sahaba began to turn against him yasser he was delivering
[7:38]a letter which the people from the cities from kufa from other
[7:41]places they had given him to deliver objecting to some of the
[7:44]ways of man was ruling he began to be amar ammar is
[7:49]one of the early muslims his f his parents yasir and sumaya
[7:53]were the first martyrs in islam the first killed in the battle
[7:59]fighting against malawia on the it was on the side of amir
[8:03]muhammadin and he was always a devout follower of a buddha another
[8:08]devout follower of amir muhammadin he was he died during the time
[8:13]of uthman and he was sentenced to go and live between mecca
[8:18]and medina in the desert abdullah in masrood one of the memorizers
[8:23]of the quran he very praised very much praises with the sunnis
[8:27]and she has us as well you know a lot of them
[8:30]don't have an issue with him abdullah in masood he was beat
[8:33]up by the order of uthman and his name was taken off
[8:38]from the list of those who receive a monthly or weekly stipend
[8:42]and salary so the sahaba they turned against uthman and we mentioned
[8:47]where even aisha the wife of the prophet she had a very
[8:54]big role she was saying hadith rasool allah and he turned against
[9:00]her as well because he saw that she was going too far
[9:03]and she's and she saw that he wasn't giving her the freedom
[9:06]that she had she's the daughter of abu bakr and ahmad also
[9:09]gave her gave her a lot of freedom to go out and
[9:12]speak and say rasulullah did this rasulallah said that uthman was not
[9:15]very comfortable with that so they had animosity with one another and
[9:20]in a hadith she came out and when uthman was under siege
[9:25]she basically instigated and she took out the shirts of rasulallah from
[9:30]his house and she said this the shirt of rasulullah has not
[9:35]decayed while uthman has turned against the sunnah of rasulallah and in
[9:41]another statement she says this old man kill him he has done
[9:51]kufur referring to athman and of course she said this and while
[9:54]uthman was under siege she went and she she left medina and
[9:59]she went to makkah she went to makkah she was i want
[10:01]to perform umrah so she didn't really save his life now hold
[10:06]on to this thought no you know this is very important because
[10:10]later on later on she was one of those who blamed the
[10:13]amir and minion for the murder of uthman even though amira moment
[10:17]had nothing to do with it so now keep in mind they
[10:20]she says you know he has turned against the sunnah of the
[10:24]prophets she leaves him she doesn't show any support remember we said
[10:31]zubair he was the one who voted for amir al-mu'min because he's
[10:34]kind of related to emir nominee was not he didn't like amir
[10:39]muhammad but they both they both turned against uthman even though al
[10:44]had voted for uthman they vote they both uh turned against uthman
[10:48]and this is also very important because they used because she's the
[10:54]wife of the prophets and in the battle of german in the
[10:58]first civil war which was which came several months after emir moving
[11:02]to power and they go to basra and there's a war that
[11:05]is fought against on one side and on the other side and
[11:10]his companions so this is also they also conspired against uthman now
[11:17]the protesters what what was going on why did they why did
[11:23]they protest against and what how did they protest against uthman the
[11:27]protesters from kufa basra in egypt they marched to medina so they
[11:35]were they were protesting so imam ali he comes to uthman and
[11:38]he tells him listen you are the khalifa right now you have
[11:40]the position of the and you know what i know and you're
[11:44]not in it you know everything i don't need to come and
[11:47]tell you do this and do that you've been with the prophet
[11:51]you know you know the issues and the events and you are
[11:54]breaking the rules you are breaking the norms and you are making
[11:57]them upset so why are you listening to us to marwan marwan
[12:03]was his son-in-law he was remember we said there was a man
[12:09]who used to make fun of the prophets and hakem the prophet
[12:12]expelled him abu bakr did not bring him back umar did not
[12:16]bring him back as soon as uthman came he brought him back
[12:18]and the son of al-haqam marwan married of man's daughter so marwan
[12:27]he had a very big role in the government and the khalafa
[12:32]of uthman and it was because of the actions of marwan that
[12:34]many people were turning against uthman he was giving him the green
[12:38]light he was allowing him to do whatever he wants in a
[12:41]sermon he tells him don't let marwan lead you don't let marwan
[12:45]control you and see what they want and give them some of
[12:48]the their orders you've been taking money and giving it to benny
[12:51]omaya here and there these people they're suffering they need money so
[12:56]um he says yes i accept he goes out and he tells
[13:00]them i will give you whatever you want the protesters they go
[13:04]back the protesters they want to go back on their way back
[13:09]to basra they see the camel that came out of the palace
[13:13]of uthman and they see a rider a messenger who came out
[13:17]of the palace of uthman and they see a letter he's carrying
[13:21]a letter and they intercept him they see that they're going to
[13:25]basra and this camel writer is also going to muslim so they
[13:28]go and they catch him they see he has a letter which
[13:33]is signed by the seal of uthman it says and it's an
[13:36]order to the governor of basra telling him as soon as these
[13:40]people come these were protesters as soon as they come you crucify
[13:42]them you killed them and you crucified them so now these protesters
[13:49]they saw that uthman came out and he said yes i'm going
[13:51]to apologize and i'm you know i'm going to change things but
[13:54]then at the same time there's a there's a letter coming out
[13:58]and telling the governor in basra so as soon as they enter
[14:02]basa they're going to be held they're going to be arrested so
[14:05]what do they do they turn around and they go back to
[14:09]atma now the siege around the house of uthman begins and it
[14:14]goes goes for over 40 days they tell him who was this
[14:19]letter from he says the camel is my camel the seal is
[14:23]my camel but the handwriting is not my handwriting it was the
[14:25]handwriting of marwan they tell him okay hand us over marwan he
[14:28]tried to get us killed handed us over marwan he says no
[14:33]he keeps marwan so the siege continues then one day during those
[14:39]those 40 days one of the one of the muslims one of
[14:44]the sahaba the azerbaijan was was one of those who was holding
[14:48]the siege against in the house of uthman he was shot by
[14:53]an arrow coming out of the house of uthman so the muslims
[14:59]now they become more angry and they tell him give us the
[15:01]one who killed him he says no i will not hand him
[15:07]over so they they basically attack the house of uthman and utman
[15:13]is killed in the process and this mob kills uthman of course
[15:20]he tried to protect the life he tried to send imam and
[15:27]hasan to go and protect the life of uthman but it was
[15:28]a mop and they were very angry and uthman was not was
[15:31]not listening he was not doing anything to to do anything to
[15:36]calm down the anger except there was more anger and there was
[15:41]more rage so eventually at man was killed and the murder and
[15:46]the assassination of uthman it cast a dark shadow over the khilafah
[15:50]of the next one who came and that was so now what
[15:55]was the role of the muslims in the assassination of uthman first
[15:59]of all imam ali alayhi salam had nothing to do with it
[16:02]he tried to intervene he even sent imam al-hasan hussain to go
[16:07]and protect the house of uthman now not out of not because
[16:11]uthman was innocent and not because of love for uthman but amir
[16:17]al-mu'min knows that if uthman is killed while he's in power then
[16:21]this is going to cause a fitna that's not going to stop
[16:24]it's going to cause bloodshed it's going to cause a lot of
[16:27]bloodshed and it did cause bloodshed the battle of dramat and the
[16:31]battle of suffering and the battle of nagaland were caused by the
[16:34]murder of uthman so it did cause bloodshed tried to stop that
[16:38]so emil and what meaning he goes to uthman he tries to
[16:40]give him advice but they don't listen he doesn't listen he tries
[16:44]to calm down the protesters they don't listen until things get out
[16:47]of control and it's not like was in control of what was
[16:52]going on if he was in control the khalafa would not have
[16:55]been taken away from him during during the time of abu bakr
[17:00]um uh he was very much respected but during their anger they
[17:06]would not listen to him as we will see later on when
[17:08]in the in these struggles that he had to deal with his
[17:12]own people while he was khalifah they would not listen to him
[17:15]so amir mohammed did not instigate he had nothing to do with
[17:19]inciting the the fitna against uthman now of course there are some
[17:25]people that tried to blame the murder and assassination of uthman on
[17:32]amir those in the battle of german and those in the battle
[17:37]of uh safein tried and until today some people they come and
[17:40]they say ali ibn mit ali had a role and it was
[17:43]the those first shias that had a role in in the murder
[17:48]of uthman when amir al-mu'min and though and his followers had nothing
[17:52]to do with the murder of uthman even though they did not
[17:56]regard uthman as someone who was qualified and someone who was leading
[17:59]the khilafah in in a correct way they fueled the angry mob
[18:06]some of them perhaps talhan zubair they had the active role in
[18:09]the murder and assassination of uthman was the governor of damascus appointed
[18:17]during the time of during the time of umar he was appointed
[18:20]and then uthman came to power and because the relatives mahweh became
[18:25]a lot stronger uthman sent a letter to mahawya in damascus that
[18:30]send your army come and save me i'm under siege so he
[18:36]comes with 12 000 soldiers from damascus but instead of allowing them
[18:42]to enter he keeps them at the border of medina he doesn't
[18:45]allow them to enter and he goes in himself man sees him
[18:50]he tells him why don't you bring the soldiers he tells him
[18:53]i know exactly why you didn't bring the soldiers because you are
[18:56]going to be the biggest beneficiary if i am killed then that's
[19:00]going to give muhammad the excuse to continue fighting amir moment and
[19:06]reject the khilafah of america so a man was killed and for
[19:10]three days they did not even allow anyone to bury the body
[19:16]of uthman until amir and manin he ordered them he ordered them
[19:19]even though he you know even if you don't agree with someone
[19:23]if a person is a muslim they have to be buried so
[19:27]amir men ordered them to bury him they go and they bury
[19:32]him outside of the walls of bakken right now there's if you
[19:35]go to medina you see there's the cemetery which the muslims are
[19:39]buried in now at that time the cemetery was a lot smaller
[19:41]than what it was right now there used to be a wall
[19:46]they come and they they bury uthman outside on the other side
[19:49]of the wall outside of the muslim part of the cemetery so
[19:55]later on once comes to power many years later he comes and
[19:57]he brings down that wall to include uthman in the muslim cemetery
[20:01]so today when you go you see you have to go walk
[20:04]very far not where the imams are you have to go walk
[20:06]very far and they'll tell you this is the grave of uthman
[20:09]but initially that was outside of the muslim cemetery and this was
[20:13]by the act of the muslims and the sahaba themselves the companions
[20:17]the companions of allah they buried uthman outside of the muslim cemetery
[20:23]now five days after the murder of uthman for five days there
[20:30]was no khalifa for the muslims they don't know what to do
[20:32]the khalifa has just been killed the his house was burned he
[20:37]was killed and it was a very messy you know way that
[20:42]he was killed so what do they do they don't know where
[20:45]to go to take the leadership so once they nominated the name
[21:00]of amir al-mu'min the muslims came rushing to the house of amir
[21:03]and muhammadin and they began to beg him to take power so
[21:08]they come they begin to beg him what does he say he
[21:14]says because if i take leadership there are going to be very
[21:31]difficult times ahead of us and you will not be able to
[21:38]handle the decisions that i make your hearts and your minds and
[21:42]your faith is not strong enough to handle it now is not
[21:45]saying i don't want leadership he's not saying i am not qualified
[21:49]for the leadership he's asking them are you qualified for me to
[21:53]lead because you need to be qualified right now some people say
[22:02]why isn't there i'm coming is he not ready no the imam
[22:05]is ready the imam has been born ready the question is are
[22:09]we ready or are we not ready we're probably not ready that's
[22:12]why the imam is being delayed that's why all of the imams
[22:16]did not rebel that's why the majority of the imams did not
[22:20]take positions of power why because their people were not ready so
[22:22]imam he's telling them go find someone else because i don't think
[22:28]you are qualified i don't think you are going to be able
[22:30]to accept me and accept the principles that i stand for he
[22:35]tells them if i rule i will rule them if i take
[22:40]power and leadership i will take it the way rasulullah did and
[22:43]this is why later on when they saw imam ali they saw
[22:47]imam ali praying in basra after the battle of jamal they saw
[22:52]immediate praying some of those sahaba companions of the prophets they remembered
[22:57]they saw they saw imam ali praying they said now we remember
[23:00]this is how rasulullah used to pray what does this mean this
[23:05]means that those who came after rasulallah they diverted the ummah why
[23:10]is there so many differences right now today muslims are praying like
[23:13]this or like that why if all the sahaba they saw the
[23:17]the prophet pray why why do we have so much differences because
[23:20]some of them they changed amir mohammed says i'm going to take
[23:24]things back to the way so at that time at the moment
[23:29]at the heat of the moment the majority of the muslims and
[23:33]this was probably the biggest majority that chose one of the khalifas
[23:38]because abu bakr was chosen in the sativa by a handful of
[23:42]people and then martial law was put in place and then people
[23:44]were forced to give baya to abu bakr just as amir al-mu'min
[23:48]was forced to they brought his hand and they put it in
[23:50]the hands of uh in the hands of abu bakr after the
[23:52]house of fatima was attacked and many of the muslims were forced
[23:57]to give baya um the the umar was not even chosen by
[24:02]the muslims they he was appointed by abu bakr uthman that six-member
[24:08]way that we talked about now this time the muslims they come
[24:12]rushing to tell him you have to take power so they come
[24:19]and they basically describes which we will read right now they begin
[24:24]to push me in telling him you have to take the power
[24:27]so the majority of of the muslims they come to emil mummy
[24:32]and then they ask him to take the leadership there were some
[24:35]that refused to give bay atta one of those members of the
[24:41]six remember we said one one of them was the father of
[24:45]um he refused and what's ironic is that many years later after
[24:58]the martyrdom of imam and hussain there was a rebellion in mecca
[25:02]and madina so al hajjaj bin yusuf that one of the one
[25:07]of the tyrants of the umawis he comes and he kills abdullah
[25:11]the son of zubair who had who had basically established a caliphate
[25:16]in mecca and abdullah ibn umar is an old man now he
[25:20]has not given bay he did not give bay to emira but
[25:24]now who has come killing people chopping off heads he comes abdullahi
[25:30]and ahmad comes to him in the middle of the night and
[25:33]he tells him i want to give you baya because i heard
[25:35]rasool allah say the one who dies without giving bay'a to their
[25:38]leader dies the death of the pagans so he comes and he
[25:43]tells him here's my feet my hands are busy eating right now
[25:45]he abdullah ibn umar gibbs bay at the feet of al hajjaj
[25:50]but he refused another later on coming on to the about 20
[26:02]years later or more close to the martyrdom of imam hussain and
[26:08]norman was the governor of in kufa he was very close to
[26:11]the umayyads he was very loyal to them so they come they
[26:16]give him that power and not man even bashir he does doesn't
[26:19]give back he doesn't give allegiance to mean he goes and he
[26:24]takes this blood-stained shirt of uthman and the finger of uthman that
[26:28]was cut off in the fighting he takes them and he goes
[26:31]all the way to damascus to cry in front of everyone that
[26:36]uthman has been killed and this fuels the anger against imam ali
[26:39]who had nothing to do with it but we will explain how
[26:42]that was something that was used against imam so but the majority
[26:47]of the muslims in madina they give bay to emir is the
[26:51]most qualified person he was chosen by the prophet but he was
[26:55]the most knowledgeable he has the history of jihad he's the purest
[26:57]he's the most principle principled one so now amir and mohammad in
[27:03]his sermon after he's saying after he says that was killed because
[27:08]of his actions and then he says he says at that moment
[27:29]after the murder of us man nothing took me by surprise but
[27:34]the crowd of people rushing to me meaning was not even looking
[27:38]for power he was surprised by that he saw the people coming
[27:44]and rushing to him and then he says advance towards me from
[27:47]every side the people like the mane of the hyena so much
[27:52]so that hassan and hussain were getting crushed and both the ends
[27:58]of my shoulder garment were torn they collected around me like a
[28:03]herd of sheep and goats so basically amir mohammadin he's trying to
[28:07]say that first of all i was surprised that because for 24
[28:13]years but no no one wanted to give bay atta they kept
[28:22]he's describing people surrounding him like the main of the hyena the
[28:27]hyena mane is very thick so he says he says this is
[28:34]to describe how this is the eloquence of emily moon to describe
[28:37]how many people were all gathered and crowded he says they gathered
[28:42]around me like the like the hyena and of course here it
[28:46]shows that had seen hyenas and he's because at that time you
[28:52]travel in the desert so you would see them so he says
[29:09]the life of their father and trying to you know hold back
[29:14]the crowd he says even if they were pushed and they were
[29:17]the grandchildren of rasulallah they were getting crushed and even my my
[29:25]uh garments my shoulder garment was torn meaning they began to basically
[29:30]pull on the clothes of them telling him we have no one
[29:34]else other than you they collected around me like a herd of
[29:37]sheep and goats meaning they all gathered around amir mummy so now
[29:43]amir and mommy he's describing how the muslims they came and they
[29:48]all gave bay'a and it was basically the first time that the
[29:55]muslims are all giving allegiance to and this has not happened before
[29:58]even though today some people they say the khalifa must be democratically
[30:01]chosen but it wasn't democratically chosen in the first three this was
[30:05]the first time that you have a large group of people coming
[30:08]and begging imam i need to take power first he tells them
[30:15]no then they beg him so then he accepts so he says
[30:19]when i took up the reins of government he says when i
[30:32]took up the reins of government now he talks about the three
[30:38]groups that rebelled against the naked and the marathi and the castle
[30:43]three groups of people who rasulullah told amir that they will rebel
[30:51]against him and he instructed him to fight them so he says
[30:56]after i came to power naked one group of people they were
[31:03]the naked who are the it means when you give allegiance and
[31:10]you take back the allegiance that's called nectar so these are a
[31:15]group of people that gave allegiance and they know who amir al-malin
[31:20]is it's not like a group of people who do not know
[31:22]they know who the prophet is they know the quran and they
[31:26]know everything but they despite all of that they rebelled against who
[31:30]are they this is a description the nakethine this is a term
[31:37]to describe those who fought against in the first civil war in
[31:41]islam the battle of jaman the battle of the camel and that
[31:46]was because she was riding a camel she she came out in
[31:48]the middle of the battlefield and the muslims have to protect the
[31:51]life of the wife of the prophet so that put the lives
[31:56]of thousands of muslims at risk and she goes to basra and
[32:01]she's riding a camel so the name of the battle is the
[32:05]battle of the camel and that was led by ayasha and talhah
[32:09]and zubair some of those people who were very close to rasulullah
[32:18]is related to the prophet he's the cousin of amir mu'min the
[32:23]cousin of the prophet from his mother's side and was also one
[32:26]of them one of those who were muslims and they were with
[32:29]the prophet from you know early on but so you would expect
[32:34]that they would be those who would know who amir menin is
[32:39]and they would not fight amir and but they turned back against
[32:43]amir moment why did they aisha she went to while while the
[32:49]house of uthman was under siege she leaves after she says kill
[32:54]not he has he has done kofor in the shirt of the
[32:57]prophet she goes to mecca she hears that man was killed she
[33:02]stays in mecca then zubair they come to her she had hatred
[33:06]for amir al-mu'min from day one she even says if you read
[33:11]some of her some of her words she says i was jealous
[33:13]of ali i was jealous of fatima zara and i didn't really
[33:17]i wasn't comfortable that was so close to the prophet she tried
[33:24]to get her father and hafsah tried to get her father umar
[33:26]to be closer to the prophet and was the closest to rasulallah
[33:31]anyone so she didn't like me from day one and we see
[33:35]this we see this you know it's not a secret she waged
[33:39]the war against amir al-mu'min and even later on later on when
[33:44]she heard that amir muhammadin was killed many years later when amir
[33:49]moment was killed while he was praying she said a poem basically
[33:55]saying praise be to the one who tells me that ani abn
[33:58]abu talib was killed and she was very happy and delighted to
[34:02]hear that so was something that was you know very obvious it
[34:13]wasn't it wasn't a secret she didn't allow imam hassan to be
[34:17]buried next to the prophet and she ordered for the body of
[34:21]imam hassan to be shot with arrows and therefore imam and hassan
[34:25]the grandson the first grandson of the prophet was buried in batiya
[34:27]not next to the prophet while abu bakr and umar abu bakr
[34:31]was the father of asha and umar who is the father of
[34:37]habsa they were buried next to the prophets so this is they
[34:42]know imam ali is a good person even though also had issues
[34:47]but they had ambitions worldly ambitions zubair wanted to be the governor
[34:58]of iraq and al-hawan wanted to be the governor of yemen so
[35:02]as soon as the khilafah comes to amir al-mu'mineen they go to
[35:06]the bait and man to the muslim treasury and they have porters
[35:11]with them hamalin you know those people that carry things so they
[35:14]come and they tell them y'all come we're going to be carrying
[35:16]a lot of goods out of the muslim treasury because this is
[35:20]how uthman used to treat the people who were loyal to him
[35:24]so they thought that he was going to do the same thing
[35:27]so they go and they see the person who's running the treasury
[35:30]amir moment was not there at that time instead of giving them
[35:35]bags of gold he gives them three dinars and he gives the
[35:39]reporters the people who are supposed to carry he also gives them
[35:42]3d nubs because they're muslim so they said what's going on he
[35:46]said this is the order of i'm not supposed to differentiate between
[35:51]people we're not supposed to be creating classes so later on they
[35:56]come and they see and he's sitting in the in in a
[36:00]place where there's the where in the muslim treasury there's a candle
[36:03]now this candle it does not belong to me it belongs to
[36:07]all of the muslims it belongs to the muslim treasure the candle
[36:10]is lit they come and they tell amy we have some we
[36:15]have something to talk to you about he tells them is it
[36:18]a private matter or is it a person or is it a
[36:20]public matter they tell him no it's a private matter so when
[36:23]he when when they tell him it's a private matter he goes
[36:27]and he blows out the candle why because the candle belongs to
[36:31]all muslims you want to talk to me privately i'm not going
[36:33]to use a candle that belongs to all of the muslims and
[36:36]this is the justice of so once they saw that even with
[36:42]a candle he's not he's not you know letting go of his
[36:45]principles they wanted to ask him each one to give them leadership
[36:51]of the iraq and yemen means not like that so what do
[36:56]they tell him they tell him we want to go to amra
[36:59]he tells them you want to you want to betray and then
[37:15]he lets them go they go they go to mecca and then
[37:19]from there they go to basra and that leads to the battle
[37:22]of jamal so this is one group he says one group which
[37:31]basically broke away another group another group turned disobedient what does that
[37:39]mean they say this group of people they they left the religion
[37:44]the same way the arrow leaves the boat so this is referring
[37:52]to see there's a skip in the order it was the battle
[37:54]of jamal and then the battle of suffering and then the battle
[37:58]of now the marathi they are the they are those people who
[38:04]after the battle of safin they said [Music] and we don't want
[38:14]to have anything to do with them and they forced imam ali
[38:18]to basically surrender the war and then once he surrendered they tell
[38:21]him how could you surrender like that so they turned against and
[38:28]they basically left religion they are those people who basically they are
[38:33]the like better than thou they they they they saw themselves holier
[38:38]than amir and and they began to declare and give light and
[38:42]say this person deserves to live and this person does not deserve
[38:46]to live who does that remind you of right now this reminds
[38:49]you and reminds us of the terrorists today they might be reading
[38:54]quran they might be praying they might be fasting they might act
[38:56]all holy but they are their mentality is very twisted and they
[39:01]don't know from the quran other than the meanings that they seek
[39:06]to derive from these people the they used to pray and worship
[39:09]and some of them had the whole quran memorized but they fought
[39:16]against and one of them the one of them he ended up
[39:21]killing him was one of those people who used to teach the
[39:26]quran he used to teach he used to teach the kids and
[39:30]other people how to read the quran he goes and he kills
[39:33]me and he strikes him while imam ali is praying so amir
[39:40]moment says when i stood for the power who are these people
[39:56]this means standing up for what's right establishing justice but what they
[40:01]did was this and their battle took place after the battle of
[40:07]gemma and this was by mahawya and his people what were they
[40:11]doing malawia was very smart and he was sitting in damascus and
[40:16]he would cry and he would say he killed the khalifa and
[40:19]we have to and he would bring out the shirts of uthman
[40:22]every once in a while the blood stained shirt of uthman and
[40:25]the muslims would begin crying the athman was killed by ali and
[40:30]that would make the people in sham and damascus very angry and
[40:34]he mobilized them to fight against imam ali islam in the where
[40:38]over 40 000 muslims were killed so why are they called because
[40:44]means to establish justice so they thought they were establishing justice by
[40:48]seeking vengeance for the murder of uthman but they were actually fighting
[40:53]who had nothing to do with the murder of ahmad and we
[40:58]said those who actually had something to do with the murder of
[41:03]uthman they were those who waged the war one of them was
[41:05]he didn't he didn't defend uthman he wasn't there to show support
[41:09]to uthman so these are the three groups of people these are
[41:18]the three group of people the emerald one of the uh one
[41:25]of the scholars who has written a book by the name of
[41:30]almost his name is why don't they mention because they they know
[41:47]that if they mention it this isn't going to go well with
[41:51]their politics with their viewpoints so they don't mention a lot of
[41:54]these hadith and praise of the albeit and praise of but al
[41:59]hackman what he did is he wrote a book it's called meaning
[42:06]that i'm going he says i'm going to use the same formula
[42:10]that bukhari used and muslim used but i'm going to add the
[42:17]hadith that they did not add so there were hadith that because
[42:23]each narrator of hadith scholar who compiles they have a formula for
[42:25]example this person i'm not going to narrate from him this person
[42:29]i will narrate this person i do not narrate they have strict
[42:32]conditions why when to accept the hadith and when to not accept
[42:34]it this is why bukhari is one of the most strict he
[42:37]does not me he does not mention a lot of these hadith
[42:42]he came and he used the same formula that bukhari and muslim
[42:48]used but he added a hadith narrations that they left out because
[42:50]of their own personal biases one of those was this hadith where
[42:56]he mentions ordered rasool allah excuse me rasool allah ordered to fight
[43:19]the naked he tells him if the khilafah does come to you
[43:24]you have to fight those who turn against the kanatha they are
[43:29]the nakethine and you invite those who are the casateen those who
[43:32]think they're establishing justice but they're not like mohawk and his goons
[43:35]and his people and third walmart and those who leave the religion
[43:41]like the khawarij so basically this hadith which is narrated in sunni
[43:48]books this legitimizes the battle of amelia now notice rasulullah did not
[43:53]order amir meaning to fight before the khalafa was given to him
[43:57]that's why a lot of people they come and they say why
[43:59]didn't amir and mohammed fight during those 24 years when his house
[44:03]was attacked when fatima was you know her house was attacked and
[44:10]when ahmad and abu bakr and uthman came to power why didn't
[44:12]fight because was ordered to be patient at that time and he
[44:17]says i was ordered to be patient and i was patient as
[44:24]if there's a thorn in my eye and there's something blocking my
[44:29]airway but now after the power it does come to a moment
[44:32]rasulullah has given amir in a direct order so now we go
[44:50]back to the sermon he says he says as soon as power
[44:53]falam and then he says as if they have not heard the
[45:12]word of allah saying that they abode in the hereafter we assign
[45:15]it for those who intend not to exalt themselves in the earth
[45:19]nor to make mischief therein and the end is best for the
[45:23]pious ones meaning that the akhira is the real life so then
[45:27]he says bella yes they did hear it yes by allah they
[45:40]had heard it and understood it but the world appeared glittering in
[45:44]their eyes and its embellishments seduce them meaning they knew it i
[45:49]was the one who deserved the kanafa but the first ones they
[45:53]turned against me during the time of abu bakr um and then
[45:56]once the khilafah came to me the battle of german the battle
[45:59]of the battle of safin and then the battle of narawan so
[46:02]several groups of people all turned against and this is why it
[46:06]was very oppressed because everyone and they were all muslims they're not
[46:12]aliens they're not people that came from you know outside the muslim
[46:15]land no they're all muslim people that had heard the prophet that
[46:18]had read the quran they knew very well but they turned against
[46:21]and then tells them this is the difference they fell in love
[46:26]for this dunya but i did not and that was the difference
[46:29]between imam ali and the others so here emir says behold by
[47:10]him who split the grain to grow and created living beings meaning
[47:15]by allah if people had not come to me and supporters had
[47:20]not exhausted the arguments meaning they if they had not begged me
[47:24]and if there had been no pledge of allah with the learned
[47:29]to to the effect that they should not accept relucta reluctantly in
[47:34]the gluteny of the oppressors meaning that the the scholars those who
[47:39]know they have a duty by god that they have to defend
[47:43]the oppressed he says and the hunger of the oppressed i would
[47:47]have cast the rope of the caliphate on its own shoulders meaning
[47:51]if people would not were not running and begging me to it
[47:54]and if um if they if they did not come to me
[48:02]come to me and they tried in any way to force me
[48:05]to take the kelafa and if if it wasn't because god has
[48:07]made it obligatory to defend the truth i don't even want what
[48:11]is this i would have thrown the rope of the caliphate on
[48:16]its own shoulders and this is a metaphor to when you throw
[48:19]the rope of the camel or the horse on its shoulders meaning
[48:22]you go whichever way you want i don't care so and then
[48:26]he says and would have given the last one the same treatment
[48:30]as to the first one meaning the same way i was patient
[48:33]when it came to abu bakr taking the khilafah i would have
[48:37]been patient and i wouldn't have even wanted and then he says
[48:41]then you would have seen that in my views this world of
[48:51]yours is no better than the sneezing of a goat does the
[49:00]sneeze of a goat have any value there's no value whatsoever amir
[49:04]menin says this leadership all of this i don't even care about
[49:11]it it doesn't even have the value of a sneezing of a
[49:14]hor a sneezing of a goat in another hadith after one of
[49:18]the battles there were many of the tribe leaders they're coming to
[49:21]congratulate amir mohammadin abbas he saw imam ali sitting in the tent
[49:26]fixing his sandals the sandals were made out of you know the
[49:30]bark from the tree he says he saw i'm fixing his sandals
[49:34]so ibn abbasi tells him you're sitting on the ground fixing your
[49:39]sandals give it to someone else and there are these tribe leaders
[49:44]heads of tribes they want to congratulate you dignitaries he tells them
[49:46]you see these sandals how much are they worth tell them they're
[49:50]not worth anything it says this and this leadership is not even
[49:53]worth these sandals for me except that i have to stand and
[49:57]defend the oppressed and stand for the truth so imam ali and
[50:00]none of the imams they were never after power and this whole
[50:04]this part of it summarizes this whole sermon saying this khalafa was
[50:09]this and i separated myself from it and then this one took
[50:11]it and this one took it and this one took and then
[50:14]when they came to me then this group rebelled in that group
[50:18]but then if i don't have to stand for justice if it's
[50:21]not for standing for the truth and defending justice i don't even
[50:25]care about leadership so amir moment here he says he says this
[50:38]is was talking a man comes and interrupts the imam and he
[50:47]gives him gives him a letter he's the khalifa he's the leader
[50:49]he begins to look at the letter he was basically interrupted tell
[51:06]us tell us what's in your heart where where you left off
[51:20]he tells him he tells it what minion tells him oh eben
[51:25]abbas this was like the form of a camel which gushes out
[51:28]but then it subsided meaning that i said what i have to
[51:32]say and that's it i'm not going to go further i said
[51:37]what i had to say and this is why it's called we
[51:39]mentioned in the first in the first discussion why it's mentioned he
[51:47]says for allah that he never grieved over any utterance as he
[52:01]did over this one the last one where amir murmuring stopped because
[52:04]a woman could not finish it as he wished to i mean
[52:07]basically was interrupted and he stopped so this is the end of
[52:15]the year it's about the khilafah and his view on the khilafah
[52:18]it shows that he he he's viewing it as he's the most
[52:21]qualified but it was taken away from him and he remained patient
[52:25]patience was not easy and then it was taken away another time
[52:29]to an unqualified person who caused mischief and then it was passed
[52:37]on again in a very very messed up way in the the
[52:39]six-person council and then that other uthman came and caused so much
[52:44]mischief for the muslims they killed him and then once the khilafah
[52:48]came to amir al-mu'min nakathim gassadin they all rebelled against amir mu'mineen
[52:54]and then he says to them if it was not for upholding
[52:59]the truth i would not even have cared about the khilafah and
[53:02]you see that this khalafa is not even worth the sneezing of
[53:07]a goat this is the view of the caliphate in the eyes
[53:09]of amir al-mu alhamdulillah
