[7:28]they push you towards another way and you find that there is
[7:33]this conflict because we have to admit it we live in a
[7:40]predominantly non-muslim society and not that it's a bad thing but there
[7:44]are many things that are taught in schools that are outside in
[7:48]society where it not only shows a challenge to you as a
[7:56]religious person when you're practicing your religion for example it's prayer time
[8:01]and you want to pray you find it difficult where are you
[8:03]gonna pray you know that it's your it's not going to be
[8:07]easy to find a place to pray a place to practice your
[8:11]religion or for example for the sisters who practice her job for
[8:15]the sisters who practice the modesty they find it difficult because you
[8:19]know you're living in a society where the majority of the people
[8:21]are not practicing and for the men also there are many challenges

[10:44]movie you go outside to the schools so the universities you see
[10:48]there's this constant attack and misconceptions against the religion understand if someone
[10:51]doesn't have a strong foundation they're going to change very easy this
[10:55]is why it's very important to build a foundation and the way
[11:00]to build the foundation is through a mosque through activities through engaging
[11:05]with the Muslim youth second try to create an environment for yourself
[11:10]an environment that will protect you when the environment up when others
[11:15]they try to change you you have a group of people to
[11:17]resort to a group of friends colleagues people that you can turn
[11:25]to that will help you in times of struggle so we see
[11:28]that there are challenges to religion there are those straightforward challenges to
[11:33]religion the attacks against religion and then you find some other types
[11:37]of challenges that are subtle challenges they're not very they're not very
[11:42]clear out there but there are challenges that change our perception on
[11:48]life you know for example today anyone that goes to a university
[11:53]here anyone that goes to school here they will see that simple

[12:22]they tell you no there's no such a thing as gender you
[12:23]could do whatever you want to do you could be whatever you
[12:28]want to be now you could be whatever you want to be
[12:32]in your own head but you can't come and force other people

[19:45]be accepted once you leave the house right is this true or

[20:16]of her class she's very qualified when it comes to her intellect
[20:19]when it comes to her you know intellectual capabilities but you see
[20:24]that there's this glass ceiling and even here in the United States
[20:28]even in some of the most you know open-minded societies you find
[20:34]that this exists here in the United States women don't have positions
[20:38]of power this is why we have we had just a few
[20:42]months ago the me two movements what was that about one aspect

[21:30]do so much there's an industry there's a billion dollar or billions
[21:34]of dollars that are invested in how a woman should look now
[21:40]of course the men also have this but it's not as much
[21:43]the the stress you know the pressure is on the woman much
[21:50]more and you find sometimes it's not the men that are placing
[21:53]the pressure on the woman that's true and you know a lot
[21:57]of it comes from the men other times it's the woman that
[22:00]are placing pressure on women you know there's a woman they come
[22:04]and they say you know I can't go out over here why
[22:06]because there's this woman they're going to look at me you know
[22:10]I have to put on this makeup I have to wear this
[22:12]dress I have to do this and that and the pressure comes
[22:17]from women so you see that these expectations these wrong expectations they
[22:21]made us oppress one another for example the woman they have expectations
[22:25]from women men have expectations from men which end up you know
[22:32]shifting our focus from what we should actually work on what we
[22:35]should actually strive on to better ourselves to enhance ourselves and we
[22:38]focus on the superficial things how I'm looking wearing these type of
[22:44]things that will you know generally go away these type of things
[22:47]that are not that important and you find that even within the
[22:55]Muslim communities you find that there is this type of impact you
[22:59]know even those who were a job or even those men who
[23:03]you know they have the beard it has to be very nice

[23:49]of the gun gun violence every day in the United States you
[23:53]have a shooting Hollywood is doing this second Hollywood advocates sexual exploitation
[24:01]it advocates you know the sexual ization of men and women but
[24:06]more you know it focuses more on women and you find that
[24:12]this machine this monster that was created by Hollywood of course it's
[24:16]not only Hollywood everyone has that you know everyone has that desire
[24:20]within them but when that desire is there and you're watching them
[24:23]you know you're watching so many movies that are showing these issues
[24:26]showing these it's going to you know it's going to basically pour
[24:33]fuel on the fire it's going to make it much worse Hollywood
[24:36]created this monster and you see that this monster started eating from
[24:40]within how many men in Hollywood just last year they lost their
[24:45]jobs they lost their positions because of the monster that they created
[24:49]the directors the directors who were directing movies that sexually exploit women
[24:54]you find that it was these very directors that were abusing the
[24:58]woman that were working for them an actress who is you know
[25:01]we see her as so she acts in a movie where she
[25:06]is so respectable she's so powerful but in order to get that
[25:10]position she has to be abused by the director or you find
[25:14]you know the gymnasts they go and their doctors the one who
[25:18]is abusing them so you see this promotion of sexuality this promotion
[25:23]of you know belittling the female and making sure that the female
[25:28]she has to dress in a way she has to speak in
[25:31]a way she has to talk in a way that's the only
[25:34]way that she's going to be the expectations of women the expectations
[25:47]of men the expectations of women what does Islam say now of
[25:53]course before we go into Islam says this doesn't mean that all
[25:58]Muslims are perfect you know you find Muslims sometimes they are the
[26:02]ones who end up a pressing woman and they are the ones
[26:08]who end up a pressing man and they fall they fall victim
[26:10]to these gender norms or they they create their own gender norms
[26:13]you know every culture every society has their own problems now when
[26:17]I say Islam I don't mean what Muslims are doing there are
[26:21]many Muslims that are doing a lot of things that are wrong
[26:23]things that are not Islamic so don't come and tell me you

[26:30]country how we begin practicing the religion of Islam the way we're
[26:45]supposed to that's the day that we free ourselves from the burdens
[26:48]and the chains of society and this is what all sort of

[35:44]recommended to groom yourself it's very recommended to look as best as

[37:00]the creation of allah subhanaw taala and Allah has the beauty and
[37:04]he is the creation he is the creator of beauty everything that
[37:08]is created is beautiful maybe my eyes do not see something as
[37:11]beautiful but in the eyes of Allah that is a creation of
[37:16]Allah and that is beauty so Allah subhana Allah judge us by
[37:21]our appearances but society does that there was a man during the
[37:24]life of rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa ala this man by the name
