[0:50]sharing some of the verses where allah covers this topic this very

[0:53]important topic but it's a very important topic for us to get

[0:58]to embrace and then inshallah benefit with this so if I were

[1:01]going another way of approaching this same topic would be to look

[1:04]at it as those promises of God and the Quran for the

[1:09]believers there are many beautiful beautiful promises of a loss of Hannah

[1:13]who wa ta'ala for the meaning and manat with of course three

[1:16]conditions that you and i have to meet the three conditions that

[1:21]we have to have in order to receive these promises of allah

[1:24]subhanahu wata'ala and then after that God's promises are wonderful those three

[1:28]conditions just so we understand what those are are the following number

[1:32]one in order to be considered men and a believer according to

[1:38]the Quran we have to have intellectual conviction that Islam is the

[1:44]truth it's not a religion that I'm following because of my forefathers

[1:48]or anybody else I personally am convinced this is Islam this is

[1:52]the truth number two in order to be considered Mormon is that

[1:59]different than other faiths it's not going to be a religion where

[2:02]my Iman or my faith is only in my heart the Quran

[2:08]specifies and teaches us that if you are molten in Islam that

[2:11]Iman is going to demonstrate it so in our actions number three

[2:17]is also very very important again many places in the Quran stressed

[3:44]issues sometimes their children are not doing what they would like sometimes

[3:48]their spouse sometimes relatives that might be one challenge it might be

[3:53]a personal challenge sometimes someone is a mormon or mock me now

[3:58]maybe not in this community but it happens somebody's even a dealing

[4:02]with something as like addiction maybe a personal struggle that a person

[4:06]is going through sometimes it might be financial issues you'd be surprised

[4:10]in Charla all of you are going very well financially sometimes for

[4:13]what meaning and manat the struggles they're going through they can't even

[4:18]explain to you and i sometimes people are going through financial issues

[4:22]sometimes there's a lawsuit they look on the other side of the

[4:25]equation on the other side of the table the end seems so

[4:28]powerful those who are after them are so strong but again Allah

[4:31]believes in me I can do it I'm up to the task

[4:34]it might be long term health issues sometimes remote men are what

[4:41]Mina is dealing with our disease long-term sickness been dealing with this

[4:46]for a long time they've gotten tired even the doctors have said

[4:49]you're not going to make it but as a believer I'm supposed

[4:52]to keep fighting to believe in God's promises to keep pushing and

[4:57]looking so it doesn't matter what the challenge is it might even

[5:01]be something which is on the social or political issue let's say

[5:05]we're gonna I'm gonna share the verse of Quran with you but

[5:08]the promises of God are true let's say right now is in

[5:10]Bahrain in Bahrain what kind of a struggle are they going through

[5:20]Yemen imagine if we write but the promises of Allah the Quran

[5:23]it doesn't matter what the challenge is it doesn't matter how many

[5:26]the enemy our God sees you as a champion a giant killer

[5:31]you have what it takes let me share one of the verses

[5:36]of the Quran about this so this one is surah baqara surah

[5:39]2 and verse number 2 286 by the way this promise of

[5:45]God has been repeated many times in the Quran so this is

[5:47]just one of the verses one of those promises of God for

[5:51]the Mortman and wahed menna this one is lair you caliph allahu

[5:56]nafsan illa wus aha' God doesn't place a burden on any soul

[6:03]greater than his or her ability God has unwavering confidence if I've

[6:10]given you God Allah speaking if I've given you the tests other

[6:15]people might say this person should give up there's no way they're

[6:19]gonna win but God says no you cuddle if Allah who Neff

[6:27]we can bear we're up to the task we're up to the

[6:33]task so how Allah looks at what's important for us is what

[7:13]Islam has been promised to be victorious as long as we promise

[7:19]to be victorious question when is it that Islam is externally victorious

[7:31]sometimes we see that Karbala happens and the Imam is slaughtered his

[7:35]family are taken as prisoners other times you see that the Imam

[7:39]is victorious like Imam Ali he's able to establish Islamic government like

[7:44]Rasul Allah like various anbiya when is it that Islam externally because

[7:48]Islam is always victorious but when is it that externally Islam is

[7:55]victorious it goes back to the followers whenever the followers are strong

[7:58]Islam is externally victorious but back to the verse to again not

[8:02]lose our topic god has confidence in you he sees you as

[8:07]a champion a game changer so look at this one this is

[8:09]Sura 8 and verse number 62 Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala says this

[8:12]about people who you and I would consider ordinary mock me and

[8:17]mock me not Allah says in the Quran all mm in a

[8:19]shape and energyne who well leve God's describing himself who well leve

[8:26]God is the one I had akka he supported you rasulallah he

[8:29]supported you how did he support rasulallah with two things he says

[8:33]been a three he divine help from allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala what else

[9:17]this is surah 9 and verse number 61 where God says this

[9:27]believes in allah you may know bilder or you may know lil

[9:34]mo meaning he trusts the believers you notice the serie of our

[9:37]prophet was this he would delegate everything was it all on the

[9:40]shoulders rasulallah he would delegate and he would delegate to the youth

[9:43]to the youth he would divert an important task you'd be surprised

[9:48]so in Islam Allah a little bait they see you strong capable

[9:54]you're up to the task no matter what the task is so

[10:00]what's going to be important for us is again relearning Islam and

[10:03]changing our understanding to make sure that we're in line with the

[10:07]teachings of Ahlul Bayt alayhim as-salam question why is it that we

[10:11]don't feel like champions sometimes sometimes we don't we don't believe in

[10:15]ourselves in that way as God's saying that we I see myself

[10:21]as that champion sometimes we actually feel weak we feel overwhelmed we

[10:25]feel like this is gonna break us a test that we're going

[10:31]in the answer is gonna be we're gonna try and address this

[10:34]on different levels sometimes it's the people who are around us sometimes

[10:38]those who are around us the words they use when they're talking

[10:42]about us are not words that inspire us it might be our

[10:48]family it might be our friends our circle the people who were

[10:51]around do they speak words of faith to us do they tell

[10:55]us that God said let you cut off allow enough son-in-law ISA

[11:00]or sometimes they don't think you and I are going to amount

[11:02]to much they don't have big expectations for us you're in nobody

[11:06]who are you I'll give you an example remember the story of

[11:14]Nabi Dawood Naveed Abu David now be told in the Quran he's

[11:17]described as being a giant killer he's gonna be the one who

[11:19]takes on Jah loot but don't you know in our hadeeth when

[11:25]he Muhammad I was describing the situation he says that even I'm

[11:29]paraphrasing the words I'm gonna tell you the hadith or part of

[11:35]the hadith the family of nabi Dawood they didn't think he was

[11:38]a giant killer they weren't very impressed with him probably if you

[11:42]had told them that he's the one who's gonna be the one

[11:46]who takes on jean-luc goliath they would probably laughed at you him

[11:50]let me give you i'll have a hadith this the hadith says

[11:55]that actually they left him behind they took the other brothers are

[11:57]gonna go and take on jean-luc goliath this monster wouldn't make him

[12:01]on they said we'll leave Dawood behind he's the youngest he can

[12:04]take care of the sheep the family saw him as a shepherd

[12:09]assembly Psalm he's small he's a little guy it's mentioned the hadith

[12:12]he was short they didn't think well they didn't see the potential

[12:15]in him but that's not important what's important is God sees that

[12:33]hadith so sometimes what happens is the circle we're surrounded by the

[12:37]people who are with us might not be those who speak those

[12:39]words of faith to us in any case I'm gonna give another

[12:44]reason why sometimes believers don't have that confidence that they should in

[12:46]themselves and trust in Allah the way that they should but if

[12:52]we don't learn this principle sometimes what happens is you and I

[12:57]will miss out on God's best a loss of Hana who wa

[13:04]taala has decreed his decree though we learn from a hadith part

[13:09]of it is contingent to our will some people receive God's best

[13:14]some people because of their own negligence stop them selves from receiving

[13:22]God's best I'll give you a hadith and after that the encouragement

[13:25]from ahlul bayt so what happens is sometimes you and I we

[13:32]get good opportunities come our way good opportunities change chances for us

[13:37]to do something special to change our lives for the better to

[13:41]do something for Islam in the Muslims what happens sometimes this lack

[13:46]of confidence and belief that God sees me as being strong this

[13:52]takes over the person stops themselves from receiving a las best I'll

[13:55]give you one hadith the hadith is from the first day mama

[13:57]says this I'll hire a Yama or risk being shy when I'm

[14:05]not supposed to do not thinking God's gonna come through for me

[14:10]not believing allows promises shrinking back from opportunities yum now or is

[14:16]God has something special but I had to walk through the door

[14:20]I had to trust him I had to believe that yes through

[14:23]Allah I can do this I don't I stop myself from receiving

[14:29]a Las best so the hadith of Ahlul Bayt they tell us

[14:31]that these opportunities pass like clouds so take advantage of good opportunities

[14:39]they come your way don't be afraid step into it receive Allah's

[14:43]best the prompt the problem with some of us inshallah this isn't

[14:49]us but a reminder for us is for some of us believing

[14:52]God's promises is a challenge some people don't believe God's promises the

[14:58]same way that they believe things that are tangible when they hear

[15:02]a verse of Quran it's not that real for the person but

[15:05]this is a sign actually of true faith hadith it says this

[15:10]lie yes - cool Iman orbed in nobody's faith is real nobody's

[15:15]faith is saw dead until the hadith continues they trust more what's

[15:20]in God's hands than what's in their own to believe God that

[15:28]much the promises of a lot of those are true even more

[15:30]real than what I can see what Stan job so what happens

[15:35]so sometimes you and I Allah has his best in store for

[15:40]us that he'd like to give us but we need to believe

[15:42]his promises we need to walk through the door we need to

[15:48]see ourselves as God sees ourselves sees us so no one who

[15:51]do is make it practical for ourselves how do we learn to

[15:57]become strong to have that can-do mentality I'm up to the task

[15:59]God can do miracles through me what am I supposed to do

[16:03]one of them that I want to share with brothers and sisters

[16:10]is this for us to learn the power of our own words

[16:12]the power of our words the things you and I repeat to

[16:19]ourselves sometimes when we're going through bôla' what are the words that

[16:23]we choose to tell ourselves the promises of God is that what

[16:26]we say I'm going through difficulty other people are crumbling I've seen

[16:30]my family was stuck in this similar situation for instance do I

[16:34]tell myself now you caliph alone enough son Allah what is that

[16:40]what I say to myself or sometimes do I speak words of

[16:45]defeat to myself I told myself this is gonna break me this

[16:47]is gonna stop me I can't make it remember something you may

[16:53]have heard already from Imam Khomeini he says victory and defeat start

[17:01]inside before they manifest themselves outside first the person says I can't

[17:05]I'm not capable I'm not strong then outside they collapse the words

[17:10]we say are very very important so remembering that is important now

[17:15]I want to share a story with you that's not true it's

[17:20]not true what happens is once there was a guy who went

[17:22]to borrow a horse from somebody the guy said yeah you can

[17:26]borrow my horse he said there's one secret when it comes to

[17:28]my horse though he said what's the secret he said with my

[17:34]horse if you wanted to start running you have to say thank

[17:38]God and if you wanted to stop you have to say Amen

[17:43]okay so that seems pretty easy and he started writing and he

[17:49]said thank God and the horse started moving and then he said

[17:51]thank God again in the horse that it brought running then he

[17:53]said thanks out of him now the horse is charging he's enjoying

[17:57]it hamdulillah he's moving quickly and then he starts running and he

[18:00]comes running right up to the edge of a cliff and then

[18:02]he forgets what he's supposed to say to make the horse stop

[18:04]so he sang whoa stop and horses charging going up to the

[18:08]edge then finally remembers at the last second he says Amen and

[18:12]horse stops right on the edge of the cliff and he leans

[18:14]back and he says thank God the power of our words saying

[18:22]the right things telling ourselves the right things how important is it

[18:27]remember according to the ayat of the Quran I already have the

[18:31]talent to come through in my difficulty I already have the creativity

[18:35]for God my past isn't a problem my gender is not a

[18:44]problem my social economic status none of that none that stops God

[18:47]no matter what the test is God said Larry could laugh alone

[18:50]enough son it was ha ha I'm up to it I can

[18:55]do it the idea is to realign realign my thinking with the

[19:00]words of God now I want to give you you as a

[19:04]principle so there's a story we have mentioned in a hadith it's

[19:47]those if this then that answers the first part and I'm paraphrasing

[19:50]the words of the hadith were this the Arabic of it later

[19:55]on I'm gonna share so we learn the principle he told them

[19:58]a lie he said it depends if Allah makes it my choice

[20:05]choice to be the ha'la'tha of Allah in the earth then I

[20:09]want to be safe from this I don't want to take that

[20:12]responsibility imagine on your multi yama you have to answer for being

[20:18]the halifa of allah and the earth he says i don't want

[20:21]that responsibility but he said but if god makes it watch upon

[20:27]me then definitely i'm going to do it the Angels want to

[20:29]know what why would you do what what's the difference look at

[20:31]the Arabic of it for any Allah truly I know this is

[23:21]one of those tests is the duniya itself dunya is da rule

[23:27]or the dunya forces one of the test is a dunya number

[23:29]two he says that we all have enough each and every one

[23:34]of us we do have enough so you have an ego that's

[23:37]a challenge it makes it hard to obey Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala

[23:39]number three it leads Shaitaan Shaitaan is an enemy whispering getting us

[23:46]to do the wrong things he says but all three of those

[23:49]enemies they're not as strong as the last enemy who's the last

[23:54]enemy the last enemy is more dangerous than any of those who's

[23:59]the last enemy other people other people see you and I we

[24:03]could handle the dunya we could handle a please we could even

[24:09]handle our nafs but other people are scary imagine you and I

[24:14]were living in Iraq let's say we were living in Iraq at

[24:19]the time of Saddam Hussein and you and I've heard stories about

[24:21]Saddam Hussein we don't know what it was like to actually live

[24:24]under that man some of the stories my teachers would tell me

[24:28]when I was back in the house and studying you won't believe

[24:32]it you're like that can't be like that terrible so now under

[24:36]the rule of Saddam imagine if you and I had to believe

[24:39]God's promises faller to home don't fear them well hopeful me only

[24:48]fear me in kuntum mu'minin' it's hard when you're looking at saddam

[24:52]you're looking at it I've seen what it's like to be in

[24:56]a government it's not easy to be brave under those circumstances but

[24:59]you and I are supposed to be brave we're supposed to say

[25:02]more real than what I can see are God's promises so other

[25:10]people their real challenge the thing is you and I we have

[25:13]to learn to make sure that we make sure other people aren't

[25:17]afraid and we don't make them afraid Shaitaan makes people afraid you

[25:25]give you a verse of Quran this is surah 3 and verse

[25:27]number 175 God says this in the Quran in namma there Nokomis

[25:36]Shaitaan truly that is Shaitaan what is Shaitaan job you hope will

[26:06]uh-uh he makes us only are afraid so what does God want

[26:18]kuntum mu'minin' only fear me fear God I control the people I'm

[26:27]a tree without my permission why would you worry about the puppet

[26:38]I said fears contagious to the extent that in our hadeeth were

[26:43]told don't even get advice from a coward somebody else is afraid

[26:49]they don't believe the last promises because they're a coward because they're

[26:52]scared it's gonna affect their judgment they'll make me scared Hadi is

[28:03]he would peck like a chicken he would eat like a chicken

[28:05]he would even walk like a chicken and then one day this

[28:08]eagle was sitting there in the chicken coop and he looked overhead

[28:10]and he saw an eagle soaring and something inside him told him

[28:14]I can do more than this I don't have to spend my

[28:17]life as a chicken I want to be an eagle he told

[28:20]his chicken buddies and his chicken buddies were like you and eagle

[28:24]we're chickens you can't do it you stay here he told her

[28:30]I want to fly I want to soar like the evil did

[28:35]they said you soar just you stay here where it's safe so

[29:18]next one important step for us brothers and sisters is to recognize

[29:22]the difference between two what : reliance on allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and

[29:29]Western confidence in the West they also talk about confidence is that

[29:33]the same thing is what we're talking about in Islam when they're

[29:36]telling us to be confident is it the same thing what's the

[29:40]difference what's the difference between Western self-confidence and to what Paul relying

[29:44]on oneself with the permission of Allah what we're gonna find out

[29:51]brothers and sisters that in Islam it's about God not about you

[29:54]it's about relying on him and what he can do and being

[30:01]that vessel through which Allah allows things to happen believing that God

[30:06]can do it through me God can do through me God God
