[0:00]foreign [Music] I want you to interpret my speech tonight as an
[0:26]advertisement for the book for the American crust in fact this is
[0:35]exactly was the reason for my hesitation to accept the invitation to
[0:41]begin with when my dear sister and my dear daughter malach asked
[0:46]me to speak and to uh basically have this presentation because I
[0:54]was a little bit afraid that this could be interpreted that I
[1:00]am promoting this book so I just accepted the invitation from the
[1:08]book club out of respect and out of love and appreciation to
[1:15]our youth and to our English speaking brothers and sisters and again
[1:21]I would like to emphasize that I'm not here to promote the
[1:29]book rather just to share some ideas and some thoughts on how
[1:33]this book came about so in 2004 Wall Street Journal wrote an
[1:44]article about me and two other religious leaders a Jew and a
[1:51]Christian and they had the a profile on me and on them
[1:55]few days later I received an invitation a letter actually from a
[2:02]guy named Will Murphy who happened to be the vice president of
[2:08]a giant Publishing House in America and I'm sure most of you
[2:15]have heard their name it is called Random House Random House is
[2:18]one of the biggest publishing companies in the United States they have
[2:24]published Memoirs of U.S president and many other books you can go
[2:32]to there basically a website and look at the many books and
[2:35]the variety of books they have published over years will morphe ask
[2:41]me if I would like to write a book on Islam and
[2:45]random house is willing to publish that book at that time I
[2:52]had no plan to write a book but the idea was very
[3:01]enticing and I thought especially we're talking now it is still in
[3:07]the aftermath of 9 11 attacks and this country was still uh
[3:17]reeling from the aftermath of that attack there was so much Intrigue
[3:22]about Islam in America at that time many people were asking about
[3:27]what this religion is who are those people and is it true
[3:34]that Islam believes in violence so to go a little bit earlier
[3:40]right after the attacks in September 11 2001 when those attacks took
[3:49]place I dedicated a lot of my time for public speaking engagement
[3:52]particularly on Islam to non-muslim audiences my journey took me to so
[4:01]many churches around the country whether in the state of Michigan or
[4:07]even beyond the state of Michigan and sometime overseas so I spoke
[4:13]in more than literally more than 300 churches universities and colleges right
[4:21]after 9 11 mainly to non-muslim audience explaining what Islam is and
[4:29]it was a very interesting experience when you talk to non-muslims this
[4:35]is my my impression this has been my impression that when you
[4:43]talk to American the public the first thing that crosses your mind
[4:50]that those people who may not know much about our religion but
[4:58]they don't hate our religion they could be confused many of them
[5:06]are confused over our religion and have some misconceptions in their mind
[5:12]on Islam but really they don't know much about Islam the main
[5:18]source the main source for their information on Islam I can tell
[5:24]you this is true for 99 .99 of Americans in America their
[5:31]main source of information on Islam is either Fox News or one
[5:39]of other you know channels operating in the United States run by
[5:46]sometime non-muslims and sometimes by anti-muslims so when I started speaking to
[5:56]non-muslims I found a very receptive congregation when I say receptive I
[6:03]don't mean they came and stood in line converting to Islam saying
[6:11]no but at least their perception of Islam after I spoke to
[6:17]them dramatically changed dramatically I can say 180 degree from a hostile
[6:24]one to a very friendly one and you know my dear brothers
[6:32]and sisters I always say this to my Muslim brothers and sisters
[6:35]in order for us to introduce Islam to non-muslims we really don't
[6:42]need to praise Islam we don't need to beautify Islam we don't
[6:48]need to put makeup for Islam Islam needs no maker Islam means
[6:56]no beautification Islam means no plastic surgery all you need to do
[7:03]is to speak the truth and dispel misconceptions exists in the mind
[7:10]of American people on about Islam and obviously the snow this requires
[7:14]some you know a background you should have a background an Islamic
[7:20]educational background that can Empower you to speak to non-muslims about various
[7:31]subjects so after every time I spoke I dedicated some time depending
[7:38]on the occasion the place between half an hour to sometimes two
[7:43]three hours for a q a receiving and fielding's questions from non-muslim
[7:51]audience and sometimes your I was struck on some of those questions
[7:59]I received for example just let me give an example some people
[8:04]say Imam I have a question let's go ahead there are two
[8:10]religions in the Middle East yes one Islam and one Muslim what's
[8:18]the difference between them I have heard this a question many many
[8:21]many many many times many people think that Muslim and Islam are
[8:28]two different things simple as that people in this country they cannot
[8:36]even most people many people cannot differentiate between What Muslim means what
[8:46]Islam means they don't know it is similar to Christianity and Christian
[8:50]so and many other questions similar to that I remember in so
[8:59]this is between two parentheses uh when after the collapse of Saddam
[9:10]in 2003 there was a prominent picture was being projected at every
[9:17]TV station it shows an Iraqi guy holding his slipper has a
[9:25]flip-flop hitting the picture of Saddam Hussein do you remember that picture
[9:30]some of you may not recall but those who are a little
[9:32]bit older they remember that this picture was featured prominently in the
[9:40]American Media an Iraqi Guy having his sandals and hitting saddam's picture
[9:47]with his sandals so next day I received a call from a
[9:52]priest or a pastor I'm not sure right now in Texas and
[9:58]he asked me Imam I saw this in the media yesterday in
[10:03]CNN in Iraqi man hitting the picture of Saddam Hussein with his
[10:09]sandals what does that mean said well it means you know discussed
[10:14]he is disgusted with Saddam Hussein he is fed up with Saddam
[10:22]Hussein and his regime and this is how he expresses his anger
[10:26]at Saddam Hussein right so the pastor asked me Imam is that
[10:32]in the Quran is it in the Quran that every time you
[10:35]want to express anger at someone you take your sandal and you
[10:40]had the their picture see that's how simple some people are in
[10:45]this country thinking that everything Muslims do from A to Z from
[10:50]a drinking tea to drinking coffee to eating fattoush and taboola to
[10:57]basically going somewhere and Outing it's all should be in the Quran
[11:05]that's the perception that exists in the mind of many Americans so
[11:10]I would answer those questions so when this guy I go back
[11:17]to Will Murphy when he suggested that I write a book on
[11:19]Islam and they would publish it for me I said you know
[11:25]what the best thing I need to do is probably to write
[11:29]a book on Islam that it is not an abstract book speaking
[11:36]in general terms rather something more captivating that keeps the readers interested
[11:45]in reading the book you when you give a book on Islam
[11:53]on Christianity on Judaism any other religion and it is in its
[12:01]academic style an abstract format it could be boring right it could
[12:07]be boring but when you insert a human stories personal stories you
[12:16]put a human touch on it and then first the reading becomes
[12:22]more interesting and it resonates more in the mind of the readers
[12:28]so I thought the best thing I would do is to write
[12:33]my own memoir and through my own Memoir I connect everything to
[12:37]Islam for example when I speak about my hometown karbala where I
[12:42]was born I would talk about the significance of karbala what is
[12:46]karbala what does it mean to Muslims particularly to Shia Muslims why
[12:51]it is a revealed City who is Imam Hussain who is buried
[12:58]and I talk in details about Imam Hussein alaihissalam and his Revolution
[13:02]when I talked about my own marriage I spoke about marriage in
[13:08]Islam and the the marriage of prophet Muhammad to say the Khadijah
[13:12]when I talked about my migration from Iraq to outside Iraq I
[13:20]spoke about the migration of prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina and
[13:26]so on so forth so I ended that book this way by
[13:32]talking about my own life my memoir and then in the end
[13:36]I attached a another chapter an additional chapter on the most frequently
[13:46]asked questions on Islam through my experience through my handling so many
[13:52]questions I was receiving from non-muslim audience I picked 20 questions you
[13:57]know when you go to a church or sunnygogue and you listen
[14:02]to so many questions don't forget that many of those questions are
[14:07]redundant the same question you hear today you will hear it tomorrow
[14:11]at another place for example this was one of the most common
[14:15]questions does Islam respect women and if so why she was hijab
[14:21]another question does Islam hate Jews and Christians if so why so
[14:28]I picked one tea questions and I called them the most frequently
[14:33]asked questions on Islam and I answered them so for some Muslim
[14:41]Students at colleges universities people like you talking to non-muslims having a
[14:46]conversation with them once that subject comes up you have something handy
[14:51]you have something available to answer the book was published in 2007
[14:57]it was reprinted two or three years later and uh it got
[15:06]some reviews from many many good reviews mainly one of them in
[15:14]New York Times New York Times wrote a I would say a
[15:20]good review even though it was critical of the book at certain
[15:24]parts of the book but in general I thought it was a
[15:29]positive uh the article if you have any question on the book
[15:37]or not necessary on the book on the most frequently asked questions
[15:41]on Islam please go ahead Ahmed I would ask if you can
[16:04]read them and I will answer do you have do we have
[16:06]another microphone or that's the only microphone okay so let's share the
[16:10]microphone the first question is how is the process of writing slash
[16:21]narrating a book versus the process of putting together a lecture uh
[16:31]there is a huge difference between writing a book and preparing for
[16:39]a lecture because I am a lecturer as well so basically for
[16:42]writing a lecture a lecture is if you want to call it
[16:50]a book it's a small book very small book that doesn't go
[16:56]beyond probably 20 maximum 30 pages but now you're talking about a
[17:04]book of almost 300 pages and remember in in your book just
[17:11]like in your lecture you have to have a uniting idea that
[17:15]goes through the entire book and it's re-emphasized through the the uh
[17:22]through the book but in the lecture you don't have such a
[17:26]long long topic to speak about you have a topic that's worth
[17:32]of probably maximum one hour speaking so definitely definitely preparing for a
[17:38]lecture is less challenging than preparing and writing a book this one
[17:49]says what do you love most about living as a Muslim in
[17:53]America freedom freedom I love the freedom we enjoy in this country
[18:01]when I tell you freedom I'm 58 years old I have visited
[18:08]so many countries I lived in so many countries and I can
[18:14]tell you from a personal experience that Muslims in this country by
[18:23]far enjoy a freedom that they do not enjoy at any other
[18:29]country including Muslim countries and I'm talking about their even religious freedoms
[18:35]religious freedoms you know in one street here in America you see
[18:41]a church mosque synagogue all lined up and they each goes to
[18:47]their own worshiper place with no hassle this is a rare view
[18:53]in the world where you see everybody whether you're Christians Muslim Jews
[19:03]Hindu they go to their places of worship and they don't fight
[19:07]now I'm talking to you Muslims and Hindus are fighting in India
[19:10]there is a big fight between Muslims and Hindus in India the
[19:16]government the extremist government of India is denying Muslims their basic right
[19:22]some Muslim woman don't have the right to wear hijab inside colleges
[19:29]and University campuses in India simply because they are Muslim in France
[19:37]France always brags about being the mother of the French Revolution and
[19:46]the country in which they boast themselves about human rights and personal
[19:55]freedom in France Muslim woman cannot wear hijab when they go to
[20:05]public schools and universities it's such a mockery that they call themselves
[20:10]a free country and they Mark any Muslim country that does not
[20:14]promote personal freedom yet they don't allow Muslim women to wear hijab
[20:22]in public places you end up in jail in France you end
[20:30]up in jail if you were in a cop but here in
[20:35]America alhamdulillah we have this Freedom that we practice our religion of
[20:41]Freedom freely you all see that during Ashura Ramadan at every single
[20:47]event we enjoy this immense Freedom that Muslims share and enjoy in
[20:57]this country and this is a big name from Allah this is
[21:01]a big blessing from Allah that we are free at the practicing
[21:07]our religion you know I have colleagues imams and olama and who
[21:13]live and at many Muslim countries they tell me say it we
[21:18]Envy you for the freedom you have at the Friday prayer I
[21:22]say how they tell me we listen to your Friday at almost
[21:27]every week I criticize either our government or another government they say
[21:32]this is something you can do in America but we can't do
[21:35]at the Middle East some speakers if they make a little criticism
[21:40]of their own governments they end up in jail but alhamdulillah we
[21:45]do have this freedom in this country and you need to appreciate
[21:49]and take advantage of it I wanna I know I took longer
[21:55]but I remember in 1999 September 1999 end of September exactly like
[22:01]around this time how many years ago 23 years ago I was
[22:08]invited to the White House for a breakfast I remember it was
[22:11]during the time of President Clinton and after the breakfast there was
[22:19]a conversation going on between him and religious leaders so I told
[22:25]him Muslims in this country do not that was remember that was
[22:31]before 9 11.
[22:30]they don't have a problem with finding food on their table in
[22:38]this country but our big challenge in this country is being stereotyped
[22:42]by the bias media the president replied by I agree with you
[22:49]I know that and he complemented Islam he praised Islam that's not
[22:57]my point my point is this is what then he said he
[22:59]says why don't you Muslims take advantage of freedom available in America
[23:05]and teach Americans about your religion you guys have no excuse we
[23:09]always say Americans don't know anything about Islam yeah that's true but
[23:14]what is our role to educate them they don't know much about
[23:20]Islam what's about us why don't we educate them don't we have
[23:23]the freedom to educate them anybody stopping us from educating Americans on
[23:28]Islam anybody would tell us no stop talking about Islam No the
[23:34]law allows you to preach and to teach your religion freely without
[23:40]the government or anybody interfering in your business so if most if
[23:46]non-muslims in America remain and educated on our religion part of it
[23:52]it's our fault yes part of it because of having hostile media
[23:58]but part of it is because we don't have the courage we
[24:03]don't have the courage to teach Americans about our the first time
[24:08]I visited Dearborn in February 1993 I was at a friend's house
[24:13]in East durable it was 7 A.M or 8 A.M in the
[24:21]morning when the door was knocked and I was by myself and
[24:22]at that time I would not even speak English and a guy
[24:27]knock on the door I opened the door he wanted to come
[24:32]in and talk to me about he sacked called Jehovah Witness Jehovah
[24:40]Witness or Witnesses at that time I would not speak English I
[24:45]told him I'm sorry I don't speak English plus the host of
[24:50]the house is not here so I meant not to be able
[24:54]to allow you to come in he says what language you speak
[24:55]I said Arabic he said fine he got a pamphlet from his
[25:01]own basically back he had with him in Arabic speaking about Jehovah
[25:12]Witnesses he would not relent he would not leave me alone till
[25:16]he make sure I got something from him hoping that he would
[25:19]turn me convert me to Jehovah Witness imagine how bold they are
[25:26]do we do this are we willing to go and knock at
[25:31]and Christian Jewish homes giving them a small book on Islam tell
[25:35]them okay and if they don't speak our language we give them
[25:38]books according to their own language do we have this audacity no
[25:43]many of us the first thing they do when they come to
[25:47]this country what do they do what do they do what do
[25:51]they do they change their name Hamed becomes Mike Ali becomes Alex
[25:57]they are even ashamed of their Islamic names and this is the
[26:03]problem that when we are afraid when we are afraid to teach
[26:12]our religion and if a free country like this country then we
[26:16]should not to blame others yes Ahmed this question kind of elaborates
[26:23]more on what you're talking about it says in your book you
[26:26]mentioned many encounters with political figures what are the struggles with these
[26:31]encounters look the book about my encounters with many political figures but
[26:39]I would like to emphasize one one thing I'm not a politician
[26:47]I'm not politician I'm just a religious figure and the reason I
[26:55]met with those figures political figures and the reason I traveled to
[27:03]Washington is because I was invited and because I'm invited I thought
[27:08]it is a could be a golden opportunity for me to speak
[27:15]to those politicians on Islam now I'm not naive I'm not going
[27:24]to think by 10 minutes of conversation with this politician or that
[27:30]politician will turn them into becoming Muslims no I'm not that naive
[27:41]I'm not delusional but what I know is this that when you
[27:44]have a conversation one and one with someone you got to leave
[27:51]some impact on that person and there's no way that person will
[28:00]not be somehow influenced why because they are human beings this is
[28:05]the nature of us being of human beings we are filled with
[28:11]emotions and feelings and when you talk to me and you talk
[28:14]to him in a nice way you may change a perception I
[28:19]had in my mind about you so in all these events I
[28:26]when I met with political leaders I was trying to accomplish one
[28:30]thing and one thing only to make them better understand Islam and
[28:38]the Muslim Community that was my goal to put them at ease
[28:46]that Muslims are not do not hate America yeah we have a
[28:49]problem with the foreign policy of this country with the biased foreign
[28:55]policy of the United States but in the end American Muslims are
[29:01]loyal citizens they are as patriotic as other people in this country
[29:10]and therefore the politicians have to view them equally like any other
[29:16]citizen in this country and should not disincriminate against Muslims and sometimes
[29:22]it worked sometimes it didn't work sometime it led into a big
[29:26]conversation and I remember one time we met with at that time
[29:34]he was the Attorney General U.S attorney general called John Ashcroft during
[29:40]the time of uh George W bush he asked me about Alucard
[29:49]and I explained to him that Al-Qaeda does not represent Islam those
[29:56]people do not speak for Islam the vast majority of Muslims are
[30:03]peace loving people and Al-Qaeda does not speak for them in another
[30:08]word Al-Qaeda and it is violent Doctrine has nothing to do with
[30:15]us as mainstream Muslims it is a French group that speaks for
[30:21]itself the man looked so puzzled he said really but I thought
[30:24]this is what Muslims believe I said what do you believe he
[30:28]said I thought Muslims believe that it is okay to come to
[30:33]kill non-muslims said really is that what you think he says yes
[30:36]I thought your religion Islam teaches its followers that it is okay
[30:44]to come to kill non-muslims and imagine this is an attorney general
[30:49]he who has so much power in this country and he has
[30:58]so much influence on shaping the policy of this country but yet
[31:04]he doesn't know much about Islam what was your motivation and greatest
[31:13]challenge in writing this book my main motivation as I mentioned earlier
[31:24]is to offer American readers a tool an easy tool for them
[31:33]to understand Islam another source of learning about Islam and I'm sure
[31:39]the book will not change everybody's perspective on Islam but at least
[31:44]it may change some people's perspective especially if they are not so
[31:49]biased and they don't read the book with biased lenses they put
[31:57]their biases aside and read the book objectively I'm sure they it
[32:01]will definitely change I need to repeat that the main goal the
[32:05]main target of this book is not Muslims it is non-muslims the
[32:12]book was targeting non-muslim readers so that was the idea is to
[32:22]introduce Islam in simple words very simple words and it through uh
[32:29]I would say engaging Style on personal level introducing Islam to non-muslim
[32:39]readers would you add anything else to the book almost 20 years
[32:46]later if you wrote it today definitely there are many things I
[32:54]can add to the book because now the more you live in
[33:04]this country the more you get to know the the psyche of
[33:06]American people and how they think and how they view our religion
[33:14]there are many many uh things you can add but I believe
[33:17]the book you know when you're writing a book it is just
[33:22]like watching a movie the more we shouldn't exceed two hours if
[33:27]it goes for three four hours it's not going to be a
[33:32]movie anymore so a book should not exceed two three hundred Pages
[33:36]if it goes beyond in that it could be a troublesome and
[33:43]cumbersome for people to to read so I think the if I
[33:50]would reprint the book I would not make major changes in the
[33:53]book probably some little editing but I leave the book as is
[34:02]this one asks how many books have you wrote how many books
[34:09]I have written so I have written two books in English uh
[34:16]the American acroscent and everyday Muslim guide book but I have written
[34:24]some four or five other books in in Arabic as well so
[34:28]the rest of these questions are kind of just uh Islamic questions
[34:35]outside of the book is that all right okay this one asks
[34:37]when is it really the best time to listen to Quran honestly
[34:44]there is no specific time for you there is no best time
[34:51]for you to listen to the Quran anytime anytime you listen to
[34:55]the Quran it's good I tell some friends who asked me do
[35:03]I have to have wudu no you don't have to have wudu
[35:07]can I listen to the Quran or even read the Quran while
[35:13]I am laying in my bed yeah you can do that it's
[35:17]not Tara anytime you feel like it read the Quran and listen
[35:25]to the Quran I give you a little tip how many of
[35:29]you have cars you drive your own cars how many of you
[35:33]raise your hand please okay almost half of you I'm sure while
[35:42]driving especially you drive in America sometime it takes you an hour
[35:47]to get your destination what do you do when you are driving
[35:51]and doing nothing what do you do I want to hear some
[35:55]answers yes you listen to the Quran this is one way you
[36:09]read the Quran you don't need to always open the Quran and
[36:13]read the Quran you may not have that time the luxury of
[36:18]having the time to read the Quran one way to do that
[36:23]is play the Quran and read with the recital read with the
[36:28]recital of the Quran you don't want to read yourself fine listen
[36:36]you don't understand Arabic listen to it in English there are many
[36:41]uh an hour citations that combines between Arabic and English listen to
[36:49]it in English so every time you're driving you have nothing to
[36:56]do your drive will take you 30 minutes 50 minutes listen to
[37:01]the Quran take advantage of time listen to some lectures now most
[37:08]of you have access to Wi-Fi through your phone plans just like
[37:16]I have right I have Wi-Fi anywhere I go in the US
[37:19]because of my phone plan so while you're driving go to YouTube
[37:26]and listen to an English lecture by hajasanin rajabali by someone take
[37:35]advantage of time don't let time passes without you doing something if
[37:41]you take advantage of the time you spend while you're arriving at
[37:48]your driving you will realize after one year that you could have
[37:52]utilized hours hours hours many hours you could have finished five books
[37:58]re-listening to Five Books while you're driving so one way to listen
[38:06]to the Quran is when you're driving but to ask me what
[38:12]is the best time there is no best time anytime you have
[38:14]the mold to read the Quran it is a good time there's
[38:23]a few more how long do we have how do you help
[38:33]a relative get closer to religion if the dad is not allowing
[38:39]them to seek knowledge and wear hijab one way is by praying
[38:46]for that parent that Allah heal them and guide but I would
[38:59]say if my parents tell me not to wear hijab with all
[39:03]due respect to my parents I'm not obligated to listen to them
[39:08]Allah clearly states in the Quran that when your parents are struggling
[39:18]with you to push you towards a deviant path don't listen to
[39:21]them but be nice to them so if my parents are asking
[39:28]me not to our hijab I don't have to listen to them
[39:31]when my parents tell me not to go and listen to an
[39:36]Islamic lecture I don't have to listen to them I don't have
[39:40]to listen to them do you hear me you don't have to
[39:44]listen to them you still can go and listen to the lecture
[39:48]why because Allah respects your parents as long as they respect Allah
[39:57]if my parents have no respect for Allah Allah has no respect
[40:03]for them therefore he doesn't give them any right over me my
[40:06]parents have right over me as long as they are exercising their
[40:12]rights correctly but the minute they abuse their right their Abu they
[40:18]abuse their their role as a parent I don't have to listen
[40:26]to them I do what I think I need to do when
[40:28]I want to pray I don't need to ask more my prayer
[40:31]for my parents permission because a prayer is Raju hijab learning and
[40:41]getting my self-educated in Islam is wajib no one can stop me
[40:47]from learning on my religion however there are two ways to do
[40:54]that a defiant way an aggressive way or I can do it
[40:59]in a nice way with my parents I'm not inviting anybody to
[41:01]fight with their parents at all but do it nicely do it
[41:07]with respect what are some advice that you can give for give
[41:15]for people trying to get married in the West well they have
[41:22]to listen to a three hour lecture then uh uh but uh
[41:27]if you ask me one tip of advice I would say don't
[41:37]Focus on anything materialistic don't worry about how big your house will
[41:45]be after marriage how many rooms it has don't Focus too much
[41:52]on how luxury your car is don't Focus on things that really
[42:01]have essence meaning when you are trying to establish a family don't
[42:10]be fooled by anything that will not have a real impact on
[42:17]your marriage but focus on the way she talks her manner does
[42:23]she pray or not does she held from a good family or
[42:28]not and vice versa when you are approached by a guy don't
[42:35]be fooled with how many languages he speaks with how much money
[42:40]he has with how many uh bachelor degree he hangs on his
[42:49]his wall rather on his on his mannerism is he a good
[42:52]person or not is he a selfish person or not if he
[42:57]is an arrogant person or not always focus on those values don't
[43:04]be deceived by Things Are not so relevant I said the other
[43:12]day in my Arabic lecture during the arbain and we will take
[43:15]one more questions and we will conclude I said one of the
[43:22]epidemics of our time one of the Epic I'm not joking one
[43:28]of the epidemics of our time is something called Instagram you know
[43:34]why you know why because people many people go to Instagram on
[43:39]my friend's account what do I see beautiful picture look look at
[43:45]the picture they took at uh at the beach in Hawaii wow
[43:51]how nice and you go in your mind thinking that those people
[43:57]are leading the most perfect life but in fact they could be
[44:04]the most miserable people trust me this is a very deceiving device
[44:11]deceiving device you may think that those people are enjoying their honeymoon
[44:18]trust me after this picture was taken many of them were fighting
[44:22]with each other don't be deceived what people put up there ever
[44:30]it's a font many people disguise the real life under those phony
[44:41]pictures they put on Instagram happiness happiness does not come from Instagram
[44:49]to be happy in your life is not with how many people
[44:54]you have on Instagram if you have 50 million followers on Instagram
[44:58]this is no guarantee that you will have a happy life but
[45:04]if you are content with what Allah has given you I assure
[45:06]you you will be happy even if you don't have 50 million
[45:12]people following you on Instagram or on Twitter one more question and
[45:16]we conclude how can we give dawa an appropriate manner my dear
[45:26]brothers and sisters the best way to do dawa to invite non-muslims
[45:35]to Islam is by behaving as a Muslim as simple as that
[45:39]the grandson of the Prophet says invite people to Islam not necessarily
[45:50]through your tongue through your own personal conduct and for Islam is
[45:59]to act as a Muslim as a true Muslim be honest be
[46:05]trustworthy be humble do exactly what the prophet would do you know
[46:12]how Christians say what if Christians was uh Jesus was there what
[46:19]he would do what the prophet does if he were in Europe
[46:23]situation you know the prophet attracted millions of people through what through
[46:31]what through the clock through his demeanor through his humility very simple
[46:39]when he goes to the market and he sees a woman struggling
[46:45]to carry her load an elderly woman struggling to carry her load
[46:53]and he would approach her and he would offer his help to
[46:57]take her load remember this is the messenger of Allah offering a
[47:01]pagan a pagan a female pagan to take her Lord to her
[47:10]house simply because she's an elderly woman when she goes when she
[47:14]gets to her house she turns to the prophet and she says
[47:16]look my son there is no way for me to pay you
[47:23]off but I want to pay you off with giving you one
[47:27]small advice he says yes yes ma'am go ahead and tell me
[47:30]she says there is a guy a magician in our town named
[47:38]Muhammad just make sure he doesn't play with your mind Prophet Muhammad
[47:44]Smiles at her and he says have you met Muhammad he says
[47:49]no I have not I heard about Muhammad he says yeah foreign
[48:01]by being humble by being nice by being kind by being kind
[48:09]you will attract people to your religion thank you so much for
[48:13]listening my dear brothers and sisters I hope I have not wasted
[48:17]your time and please forgive me for any shortcoming thank you for
[48:23]giving me this opportunity to share some thoughts about American Crescent I
[48:28]pray that Allah lead your way and guide us all to the
[48:36]right path thank you so much one more time
