[3:14]life continuing with our discussion about imam ali IBN ABI talib salawatullahi
[3:22]wa salamu alayh last night we said we said that one of
[3:25]the reasons why we want to follow Imam Ali o Navy pilot
[3:28]alayhis-salam is because he is a personality that demonstrated the pinnacle of
[3:36]success when it comes to achieving the purpose of life and that
[3:40]is achieving the pleasure of allah subhanahu wata'ala as we discussed in
[3:46]surat a Toba tonight insha Allah will shed light on a different
[3:52]aspect of why do we need to follow Imam Ali of nabi
[3:58]of allah salawatullahi wa salaam are they in the 21st century the
[4:04]ayat I just read from Surat at dar al in San discuss
[4:16]an incident that happened during the time of the Prophet peace be
[4:20]upon him and his divine family where one day imam al hasan
[4:24]an imam and hussain ali him as salaam became ill and hence
[4:30]fatima to Zara and Imam Ali RA him as Salaam made another
[4:33]a vow if Allah were to cure them then they would fast
[4:41]for three consecutive days Allah subhana WA Ta'ala gave imam al hassan
[4:46]an imam hussain ali mussalam a quick recovery so Imam Ali and
[4:52]Fatima Tassajara ellingham a salam fulfilled their Neda fulfilled their vow so
[4:56]they fasted for three consecutive days as they planned to fast imam
[5:04]al hasan and imam al-hussein alayhim as-salam said we will join you
[5:09]in the fast even though they were very young still but they
[5:12]said we are going too fast as a family so they decided
[5:19]to fast as a family on the first day after fasting a
[5:23]long day at about the time of a fog they hear a
[5:29]knock on the door they opened the door and they find a
[5:36]poor person a destitute requesting some help asking for some food so
[5:40]they take all the food that they had for a fog and
[5:44]they give it to this poor person and they break their fast
[5:53]with a drink of water the second day again they fast and
[5:57]at the time of a fog they hear a knock on the
[6:04]door this time they open the door and they find an orphan
[6:11]who's asking for some food again they take all that food that
[6:14]they had and they give it to the orphan and they break
[6:20]their fast with a drink of water the third day at the
[6:23]time of a fog after fasting long days and for two consecutive
[6:31]days they have not had food to eat again at the time
[6:34]of a fog someone knocks the door and this time it's a
[6:40]prisoner who says I don't have any food to eat can you
[6:43]please give me some food and so they give him food again
[6:49]and they break they're far only with drinks of water imagine fasting
[6:55]three consecutive days and breaking your power fast only with drinks of
[7:02]water for three consecutive days so they became tired the prophet sallallahu
[7:07]alayhi wa al came to visit them and he saw them in
[7:13]this state where they were tired they were fatigued and he cried
[7:17]for seeing them in the state allah subhana wa ta'ala then revealed
[7:25]the surah surah tada valence an and praise of what elevate alayhim
[7:31]wa sallam and sacrificing their food to help the needy to help
[7:37]the orphan to help those who are in need of help one
[7:44]thing that is interesting here as they were helping the poor and
[7:49]the needy they never said anything but their intention was that we
[7:54]want to help you for the sake of the pleasure of allah
[7:59]subhanahu wata'ala nor do we want or thank you or do we
[8:02]expect any reward from you that was their intention they help purely
[8:08]for the sake of helping not necessarily to be recognized not necessarily
[8:14]to be known or mentioned Allah subhana WA Ta'ala took this intentioned
[8:20]in this new year and he put it in the Quran when
[8:26]he says in naman / mo calmly wa jalla la novia minkum
[8:28]Jezza and voila Sakura we feed you purely for the sake of
[8:37]Allah we don't want a reward from you nor even a word
[8:40]of gratitude this is the intention of Ahlul Bayt alayhi wa sallam
[8:50]that spirit of giving carried through when Imam Ali o venerable bali
[8:54]bah-li his salon became the ha'la'tha of the muslims he realized that
[9:02]there were people who were impoverished there were people who are living
[9:09]under the poverty line there were people who were homeless and so
[9:15]he developed a strategy to combat poverty to combat homelessness given the
[9:24]time of course we will not be able to discuss his strategy
[9:27]at length but we'll set some lights on some of the points
[9:30]that he did before I commenced on his strategies a couple years
[9:42]ago I was reading in the papers about the g7 nation which
[9:45]are the biggest kind of industrial nations in the world the developed
[9:49]countries in the world and they meet on an annual basis and
[9:55]they develop targets a couple of years ago a target that was
[9:58]developed which was interesting it was to eradicate poverty by the year
[10:07]2030 eradicate global poverty by the year 2030 so this was a
[10:13]target that was set and the newspaper started discussing it when I
[10:19]read the news the first thing that came to my mind is
[10:24]how it's easy to set a target but what is the strategy
[10:36]a strategy was not mentioned today there are approximately approximately 1 billion
[10:42]people who are living under the poverty line globally 1 billion people
[10:50]in the United States alone you have approximately 30 million people living
[10:58]under the poverty line what that means is that people who don't
[11:06]have food for the dinner and this has a huge impact on
[11:09]the education on the children it's a vicious cycle which keeps on
[11:12]continuing I don't think there is a single mayor of the developed
[11:22]world in a major city who can stand up and say I
[11:24]don't have any homeless people in my city addressing homelessness is an
[11:36]issue addressing poverty is an issue and globally people are trying to
[11:45]address these issues well one reason why we need to study the
[11:47]life of Imam Ali ibn ABI Taleb alehissalaam in the 21st century
[11:53]and why it is so important and so relevant is because we
[11:56]have a living model of a system that is not fictional real
[12:01]that governed many parts of the world yet eradicated poverty and Radek
[12:11]ated homelessness so it's worthwhile for us to study the system and
[12:16]try to understand how it worked what did he do and try
[12:20]to implement some of these strategies in this day and age one
[12:27]thing that Imam Ali of Navy pilot alehissalaam did is social welfare
[12:34]or social assistance to everyone in the Islamic state of his day
[12:44]under his rule and by the way when we talk about the
[12:47]leadership of Imam Ali alehissalaam we are talking approximately of his Halawa
[12:56]him leading 30 or so countries of today's world map you're talking
[13:02]about Egypt all the way to Iran including Afghanistan and that part
[13:09]of the world the only region that was not under his rule
[13:16]from this whole area was Damascus Bela - um today's Syria that
[13:21]was the only region that was not under his rule that was
[13:27]under the rule of how we have Navy Sofia but the rest
[13:29]all these countries the Gulf countries of today Yemen Egypt you go
[13:37]to Iran Iraq etc etc all those dates all those countries where
[13:43]under his leadership so to have such a large piece of land
[13:48]to govern with so many people and not to have any people
[13:54]who are impoverished that is indeed an accomplishment one thing the imam
[14:01]salam ala hele did is the social assistance first of all whatever
[14:06]he used to get to receive in terms of the wealth of
[14:10]the state taxes for example in Islam we have taxes there in
[14:16]different forms than the points of zakat and the forms of homes
[14:23]and some other forms as well those taxes when they used to
[14:26]come the imam salam ala la used to distribute these taxes back
[14:33]to the people in a fair manner where people were just equally
[14:38]nobody was given more than what he or she deserves one day
[14:46]his own sister omaha knee comes with her maid they come to
[14:51]him and he takes some of the money gives his sister and
[14:58]takes some money and gives to the maid as they walk outside
[15:00]his sister looks at the maid and asks her how much did
[15:05]he give you so the maid opens her hand and says well
[15:07]this is how much he gave me the sister looks at her
[15:11]hand and she says my lord that's exactly how much he gave
[15:20]me as well you are my maid she goes back to him
[15:22]this is his own sister the sister of the khalifa and he
[15:27]just to give things you know in a perspective you're talking about
[15:31]the president's sister well we see what his daughter is doing these
[15:41]days but nonetheless so she walks in and she tells him yeah
[15:45]Ali I am your sister that's one thing I'm the Haditha sister
[15:50]second I'm an Arab my maid is not even an Arab three
[15:58]are from Beni Hashem and she's not even from Beni Hashem I
[16:06]have all these merits which means I should get more I deserve
[16:13]more than her he picks up piece of the sand in both
[16:20]of his hands and he opens them and he says do you
[16:23]see a difference between the sand this and she says no he
[16:28]says there are there's no difference between an Arab and a non
[16:34]Arab except when it comes to what piety taqwa the fear of
[16:41]Allah the love of allah subhana wa ta'ala and that will be
[16:44]judged by Allah subhana WA Ta'ala God knows you may have an
[16:51]Arab who is extremely pious extremely fearful of God obeys the commands
[16:54]of Allah you may have a nun Arab who's extremely pious and
[16:58]fearful of Allah and follows the command of Allah it doesn't matter
[17:02]and they will be both equal in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu
[17:08]WA Ta'ala it's not about being an Arab or non Arab it
[17:13]was not until that one T youth century when people eradicated racism
[17:18]at least on paper but we still see what is happening in
[17:21]Ferguson we see what happens in Orlando we see what happens in
[17:29]other parts of this country it still exists but it was not
[17:33]until the 20th century that at least on paper it was banned
[17:35]imam ali salam wa ala banded 14 centuries ago in practice not
[17:43]in theory he says there is no difference you get whatever you
[17:47]made gets and that's it and this was something that made people
[17:52]upset people like his own cousin az-zubair Abner I'm the son of
[18:01]Sofia the prophet's aunt an imam ali's aunt zou bale and others
[18:06]other companion paula became very upset that why is a leonid ilyich
[18:10]giving us the same as everyone else and this was one of
[18:16]the reason that they raged they would they waged a war against
[18:19]him um and um nebula Valley in Salaam the Battle of German
[18:23]they sought the help of one of the prophet's wives Oh mommy
[18:27]Nina Aisha and they requested her to join their camp and they
[18:33]raised an army to go fight against Imam Ali ibn ABI Talib
[18:35]alehissalaam because some people just could not handle being treated fairly that's
[18:44]something that people sometimes dislike it steps on people it's toys toes
[18:51]to treat them fairly people like a caste system sometimes they don't
[18:56]like that to be treated fairly you know they say sometimes in
[19:01]English the truth hurts people sometimes cannot handle it and they don't
[19:07]like it but even though it's led to a war the Battle
[19:14]of German people told Imam Ali alehissalaam yeah Ameer al-mumineen there are
[19:20]some people like pal ha like zubayr like Marija and Shan these
[19:27]people want some power you give them the power just until you
[19:31]can really set yourself you know get your Halawa up and running
[19:35]get your state up and running and then you can do whatever
[19:41]you want with these people for now it's okay give them what
[19:43]they want Imam Ali Ali salam says and then what am I
[19:50]going to answer to allah subhanahu wata'ala I give them what they
[19:56]want if any person gets oppressed because of Malawi as oppression who
[20:01]is going to be responsible then I will be held responsible before
[20:06]Allah subhana WA Ta'ala he I cannot accept that and that led
[20:10]to another battle the bad loss of Fein where Maui of Navi
[20:16]Sophia and waged the war but see this is where Hawk and
[20:18]battle truth and falsehood and a person has to be on the
[20:27]truth side even though it might upset some people but at least
[20:31]one knows that he is doing what is right Imams own brother
[20:38]a Dean comes to him and this is mentioned in natural Bulava
[20:43]imam ali ali salam says i saw my own brother appeal coming
[20:48]to me with his children who are the children of peel was
[20:53]one of them is Muslim even a teen the ambassador of Imam
[20:57]al-hussein alehissalaam who was killed in Kufa that's one of them Muslim
[21:02]I saw my own brother appeal coming to me with his children
[21:06]and I saw them full of dust they don't look very good
[21:15]an appeal is telling me Ali give me some more money from
[21:19]the Muslims Treasury increase my salary now why was appeal poor here's
[21:26]a question we just said that there are no poor people so
[21:30]what happens well appeal used to be generous generosity is a good
[21:34]thing but not overspending appeal used to overspend used to give and
[21:42]give until maybe halfway through the month he runs out but that's
[21:46]not even at his fault so he came come he comes once
[21:51]to imam ali alehissalaam and tells him yeah Amir al-mumineen you give
[21:56]me something as well man Ali Ali has sallam said you want
[22:01]money from the Muslims Treasury said yes he says how about if
[22:05]you and I you know now it's gonna get dark pretty soon
[22:07]how about if you and I when it gets dark go out
[22:12]and steal from some shop and I'll steal some money from you
[22:15]and then for you and give it to you is what you're
[22:17]talking about you want to make us become thieves at the end
[22:22]of our lives he says well isn't that what you're asking me
[22:24]to do at least when you steal from a shop you're stealing
[22:29]from one person you're telling me to steal money from the Muslims
[22:35]Treasury so we're stealing from all Muslims a kid had no answer
[22:40]he then insisted on imam ali ali assalaam so then imam ali
[22:45]salaam at that time appeal had lost his eyesight because of old
[22:51]age Imam Ali Salim Ali then took a metal rod heated it
[22:53]up in the fire and said I they'll hold this now a
[22:58]kid could not see he had lost his eyesight so when he
[23:00]held it he immediately he got burned so he merely cried and
[23:04]said I need what are you doing said what happened a pain
[23:10]was that painful is it of course it's a fire he said
[23:13]the our tale your crying from a fire that I prepared to
[23:18]teach you a lesson and you don't want me to worry about
[23:20]the fire that Allah subhana WA Ta'ala has prepared to punish those
[23:27]who steal from the people's money I'm so happy I can give
[23:30]you anything do you see this great example where his own siblings
[23:35]come to him for money and they don't get anything except what
[23:42]they deserve it's not because he is the son-in-law of the leader
[23:46]or she is the daughter of the leader or she's so-and-so of
[23:51]the leader then she gets you know special rights or because he's
[23:57]a friend of the leader and he is a cousin of the
[23:59]leader and he's a son of the leader then mashallah the wolf
[24:06]gets divided amongst the family well at whose expense it's at those
[24:10]who become impoverished it's at the expense of those 30 million people
[24:14]who don't have any thing to eat for dinner so that was
[24:22]one strategy of the Imam Salaam Valley social assistance and fair distribution
[24:27]of wealth there is a noble laureate who won the Nobel Prize
[24:39]for Peace in 2006 in 2006 a man by the name of
[24:42]dr.
[24:43]Muhammad Yunus from Bangladesh won the Nobel Prize for Peace he writes
[24:50]in one of his books he says poverty that we see in
[24:58]the world today is not because we don't have enough resources so
[25:04]then what is the problem he says because we don't have a
[25:08]fair distribution of resources what do you mean he says and listen
[25:12]to this statistic 94% of the world's wealth is in the hands
[25:23]of 40% of the world's population I repeat ninety-four percent of the
[25:33]world's wealth is in the hands of 40% of the world's population
[25:41]the remaining 6% is divided by sixty percent let me put that
[25:45]in perspective for you suppose you have a room here with a
[25:51]hundred people okay and you have a pipe that you can evenly
[25:54]slice into hundred slices logic dictates that you have hundred slices hundred
[26:01]people in the room therefore each person gets how many slice one
[26:05]slice correct and that will feed each and every person in the
[26:11]room and keep them happy that's what logic dictates however what is
[26:19]happening in reality is you divide the people in the room into
[26:28]two groups you have forty on one side and sixty on the
[26:31]other side so it's not even an even distribution 40 on one
[26:36]side 60 on the other side then you take 94 slices of
[26:40]the pie and you give them to the 40 say there you
[26:46]go that's yours you have six more slices left to feed 60
[26:53]people what do you think will happen fighting war people will become
[27:02]impoverished problems that's what we're observing today and in the world it's
[27:09]interesting even if you ask a ten-year-old here in the crowd he
[27:18]will tell you each person gets one slice but the adults who
[27:22]are running the world that's not how they see it 94% goes
[27:30]to 40% that's why we have some individuals who you know interestingly
[27:36]state that our world today is running not by saying people but
[27:42]rather on insanity because which sane person would see a person dying
[27:46]in front of them and not give them any food so you
[27:51]see the even distribution of wealth and when we talk about even
[27:55]distribution of wealth by the way I want to clarify something we're
[27:58]not talking about a socialist government or a communist government that says
[28:04]you cannot have wealthy people that's not what thought what we're saying
[28:08]no you can have people who are businessmen or businesswomen you can
[28:12]have the wealthy class but that wealthy class needs to pay its
[28:16]dues needs to pay its taxes that's why imam ali IBN ABI
[28:22]talib alayhi salam says in natural balada innallaha Subhanahu forever fear my
[28:27]Lilith Nia a poet Elphaba famosa Ffion illa bima mutia be here's
[28:34]an eon wa la ilaha illa Homa and alack he says Allah
[28:37]subhana WA Ta'ala has dictated that the poor the poor share of
[28:45]the wealth is in the hands of the rich so you don't
[28:48]find a poor person suffering because unless there is a rich man
[28:56]who what did not pay did not pay don't we have a
[28:59]president who takes pride and not paying taxes for the past 18
[29:04]years and he says that's being smart he found the loopholes in
[29:09]the system which allows him not to pay any taxes another billionaire
[29:13]in this country it was found that his secretary who makes about
[29:18]$36,000 a year or $40,000 a year pays more taxes than he
[29:28]does as a billionaire you think that's fair well then there's no
[29:33]surprise you have 30 million people suffering and you have those billionaires
[29:37]who found the loopholes in the system and they don't pay taxes
[29:41]well that's what happens imam ali of navi a pile of alehissalaam
[29:48]Chlo those loopholes on people he told everyone you must pay your
[29:53]fair share and then when they pay the fair share instead of
[29:56]him taking it for himself or giving it to his siblings and
[30:01]his cousins and his family members he was actually giving it back
[30:05]to the people who most needed that's another important aspect so one
[30:10]is you close the loopholes that allow the rich to become richer
[30:15]second when you take taxes you divide them well 3 Imam Ali
[30:24]ibn ABI Taleb alehissalaam fought corruption he would not allow he would
[30:31]not allow some of his leaders some of his governors to run
[30:37]a business just because I'm the governor or I'm the mayor or
[30:42]I'm the leader then I can get things done my way he
[30:48]would not allow that one of his governors he had a governor
[30:51]on Basra in the city of Basra in Iraq today a man
[30:57]by the name of Earth man even for knife one of the
[31:01]wealthy people in the city of Basra sets up a dinner and
[31:07]he invites only the rich it's a dinner for the elites that's
[31:14]it and he invites the governor of Basra who's the governor or
[31:17]Imam Ali of Nebulon Valley Salaam he put him there but man
[31:20]even her nave earth man being the governor attends the dinner Imam
[31:27]Ali of nabi of allah allah salam hears about it he writes
[31:33]a letter and he sends it to him he says how dare
[31:40]you attend a dinner that is only made for the rich when
[31:42]you as a governor are representing the rich and the poor you're
[31:46]not only the governor for the rich you're the governor for everyone
[31:50]else he says learn from my example look at I eat dry
[32:01]bread that's what I have for food in terms of clothes I
[32:08]only have one pair of clothes that's it and sometimes it used
[32:15]to get tour and he would stitch it and he's the Khalifah
[32:20]learn from my example Halawa in le cun lima a momen imam
[32:29]yak teddy bear why Estadio be Noel may allah wa ni'ma maqam
[32:34]paddocks affirm in dunya Hobart my woman taught me he before say
[32:40]Allah when in knock'em latest that the owner allowed Alec out of
[32:44]the owner allowed Alec Guney be water and watched he heard where
[32:50]I fit in was a dad says I only eat a couple
[32:52]of pieces of bread for the whole day I only have a
[32:56]couple of pieces of clothing that i wear and that's it I
[32:58]don't have a closet full of clothes that's about to explode that's
[33:05]it learn from your leadership that's how the leadership lived the leadership
[33:11]did not live in a huge tower where the security of that
[33:14]tower costs the taxpayers millions and millions of dollars every year to
[33:20]pay for why should taxpayers pay for the taxes out of their
[33:23]own pockets for the security of a tower so that the wife
[33:28]of the leader can be protected when the leader himself masha'Allah he's
[33:36]a billionaire why can't he invest out of his own money well
[33:41]when the taxpayers are paying out of their own pocket millions if
[33:49]not billions of dollar just for security unnecessarily then of course you'll
[33:56]have 30 million people suffering from poverty if these millions of dollars
[34:01]were spent on people then that would eradicate their poverty so there's
[34:06]corruption there is corruption that is happening Imam Ali fought against corruption
[34:14]another thing that Imam Ali bin Abi Talib did salam ala hele
[34:22]was he did not invest or I should say waste money in
[34:25]areas that were not necessary do you know what is your defense
[34:33]budget every year how much do you guys spend on military every
[34:36]year how much did the United States is the leader it's the
[34:41]leader in spendings every year on military how much do you guys
[34:47]know now 500 billion dollars a year 500 billion a year that's
[34:56]half a trillion half a trillion last year or in 2015 I
[35:04]should say in 2015 there is an institute called the Stockholm Institute
[35:08]for International Peace Research it's an NGO you know that just deals
[35:14]with military spending for peace etc etc you know they came up
[35:19]with a very interesting report you guys can look it up online
[35:21]you know they're available online the Stockholm Institute for peace for International
[35:27]Peace Research in 2015 the world spent globally 1.7 trillion dollars on
[35:40]war 1.7 trillion dollars were spent on war globally and why was
[35:53]this money spent to achieve peace doesn't that sound ironic spending 1.7
[35:59]billion or trillion sorry on war to achieve peace what this Institute's
[36:05]and I'll read you some of the statistics or some of the
[36:10]quotes the Institute suggests that if we take out of this 1.7
[36:21]trillion dollars if we take 12% we can enhance the whole telecommunication
[36:30]system of the world if we take an additional 13% we can
[36:37]eradicate poverty and hunger imagine 1.7 trillion all in all you know
[36:43]I won't give you all the statistics but if anyone is interested
[36:46]I have them here all in all if we take approximately 40
[36:54]to 50 percent of that 1.7 trillion dollars if we take 40%
[37:00]off and rather invest them on health education agriculture telecommunications and so
[37:09]on so forth we can eradicate most of the world's problems 40
[37:16]to 50 percent can you imagine this if you can provide people
[37:24]with food to eat if you provide them with water to drink
[37:32]you know there are some parts in Africa and I actually visited
[37:35]some of these parts of myself there are parts of Africa where
[37:43]people have to walk literally five miles to 20 miles in some
[37:48]areas to get access to clean water you know when you open
[37:55]the tap and that running water comes be grateful to Allah say
[38:00]l-hamdu lillahi rabbil alameen you have a luxury that some people in
[38:03]the world would love to have would dream of having that they
[38:08]can open a tap and clean water would be running that's a
[38:12]luxury but we don't appreciate it imagine walking every day at least
[38:22]five miles five miles every day walking just to go get water
[38:25]and then you have to walk five miles back carrying that water
[38:27]jug with you then will you have energy to learn to go
[38:36]to school to educate to each No so then what happens well
[38:43]a person remains ignorant yep you know communities remain impoverished what happens
[38:47]you have individuals who have some political agendas who can come and
[38:51]preach these communities whatever they want give them some bread give them
[38:58]some water and give them a gun and they can direct them
[39:01]in any way they want but if we can actually build water
[39:07]wells if we can get the sanitation up and running eradicate the
[39:12]poverty build hospitals you know five hundred billion dollars on military budget
[39:18]every year that spent only in this country alone how many hospitals
[39:24]can that build I've spoken to some health professionals they say approximately
[39:30]it costs approximately anywhere from one to two billion dollars to build
[39:35]a hospital one to two billion dollars to build a state-of-the-art hospital
[39:41]this includes the equipment's the beds etc etc so let's say two
[39:46]billion dollars five hundred billion dollars how many hospitals can you build
[39:51]can you do the math how many I sent masha'Allah we have
[39:58]some really good people in math I'm proud of you guys Americans
[40:00]you know pretty good job maybe you guys should teach your government
[40:05]how to do the math 250 hospitals can be built and then
[40:12]you have people who don't have health insurance you know something guys
[40:17]you guys are the only country in the world a developed country
[40:20]in the world that does not have universal health insurance you're the
[40:26]only developed country in the world people in Canada make fun of
[40:29]you guys you know with all due respect because we do have
[40:30]universal health insurance there was a an article once written by one
[40:39]of the leading Canadian newspapers which was making fun unfortunately in a
[40:44]very sad way you know it's stating the facts but in the
[40:49]United States it is legal to go and buy guns they're sold
[40:53]on the streets but when someone takes that gun and shoots people
[40:59]like happens you know almost unfortunately on a monthly basis just today
[41:03]there were some shootings unfortunately to some congressmen which were very unfortunate
[41:07]you know incidents that happens there were some sometimes sometimes there were
[41:11]shootings at schools where children get killed at universities at movie theaters
[41:17]at religious institutions I mean that happens unfortunately on a regular basis
[41:23]it's very sad so this Canadian journalist is saying that in this
[41:30]country in the United States it's interesting you can go buy guns
[41:33]there legally to be they're legally sold on the streets but when
[41:39]someone takes that gun and shoots someone else and that person doesn't
[41:44]die he ends up in the hospital he gets treated who pays
[41:48]the bill he will be given the bill he has to pay
[42:00]for it he's a victim he was just shot but because he
[42:07]doesn't have health insurance now that the hospital treated him and sometimes
[42:12]this could be costly expenses gunshots surgeries treatments etc they'll be slapped
[42:19]with a bill of $100,000 approximately give or take and they have
[42:22]to pay for it does that make any sense to you guys
[42:29]well that's the country you live in and hence you have poverty
[42:33]you have people who unfortunately are not getting the treatments that they
[42:39]deserve that they need it's a great country don't take me wrong
[42:43]the American people are very nice people they're very supportive very generous
[42:48]and that's why in many of these occasions when some things like
[42:52]this happen you have the general people the general public coming and
[42:58]donating to help out isn't but the government needs to also figure
[43:03]out where to invest on it spendings invest on education invest on
[43:10]health invest on eradicating poverty and things will be corrected you see
[43:15]how a mom I'll even have you thought of alia salaam managed
[43:18]to eradicate poverty because he fought against that whole system he made
[43:26]sure that there were no loopholes where people can avoid their taxes
[43:29]you have to pay taxes if you're wealthy you have to pay
[43:32]your taxes that's one - once he receives these taxes he made
[43:41]sure that they're invested back on people he did not invest five
[43:45]hundred billion dollars on military spending that was not necessary his army
[43:53]consisted of ordinary men people who used to be Baker's barbers farmers
[44:01]builders that was army but when the time comes for them to
[44:05]fight they pick up the sword and they go to fight once
[44:09]the war was over they go back to doing their business you
[44:15]don't need a huge capital to invest on a military because the
[44:19]military comes from the ordinary people only when they were fighting that's
[44:22]when the state would have to take care of their families and
[44:25]their children so he made sure that the money is invested back
[44:34]on the people 3 he fought corruption 4 he made sure that
[44:38]the investments are made wisely no favors these are at the bank
[44:48]the ways that Imam Ali ibn ABI Talib Ali Salim managed to
[44:53]fight poverty I wish there would be some people who would actually
[44:57]invest time in studying a PhD thesis about the system of Imam
[45:03]Ali ibn ABI Taleb and eradicating poverty and presenting it to the
[45:09]World Health Organization to the United Nations to the World Economic Forum
[45:14]and presenting them with these ideas here there you go these are
[45:22]plausible solutions as how we can fight against poverty if you reduce
[45:27]poverty then that would automatically reduce terrorism because then you have a
[45:33]lot more educated people you have me people with better knowledge better
[45:38]understanding and hence that would or you know automatically lead to a
[45:42]peaceful world all that was taught to us by him on a
[45:47]leave Navi Atlanta Valley and Sela but unfortunately we don't appreciate it
[45:53]and we never invested enough time to study it so if we
[45:57]follow the system of Imam Ali of navigated we can eradicate world
[46:01]poverty we can bring justice we can bring peace and then there
[46:09]will be left this minority group who will always want to cause
[46:13]problems and instead of spending 1.7 trillion dollars on war we may
[46:17]have to spend a fraction of that amount just to control that
[46:24]little fraction group then you will increase the education you'll help the
[46:30]people sustain the people one day he was walking on the streets
[46:34]of Kufa he finds a beggar someone who's begging on the street
[46:37]his question was what is this they told him yeah Imam Ali
[46:46]Amir al-mumineen he is a Christian man he's not a Muslim he
[46:49]used to work but now that he's grown older you know he
[46:51]doesn't have a job so that's why he's begging on the street
[46:55]he says you guys worked with him when he was young and
[46:58]had the energy and now that he's older you let him beg
[47:03]on the streets that doesn't happen in my state and he turns
[47:05]to his Minister of Finance we may call that Secretary of Finance
[47:11]and he tells them you immediately find him a house and you
[47:16]assign him the monthly salary that will suffice him and his family
[47:22]and notice imam ali ali salem did not ask who is this
[47:24]that was the answer he was given he is a christian man
[47:28]but he didn't ask who is this his question was what is
[47:33]this in other words what is this phenomena why do I see
[47:39]a beggar on the street that is something strange that is not
[47:43]something common it's something unique which suggests there were no beggars at
[47:47]the time of Imam Ali of Mahakali no people who are in
[47:52]poverty and when he notices something that looked different it was not
[47:57]something used you know he was used to so he immediately dealt
[48:06]with it he dealt with people justly fairly kindly mercifully and one
[48:11]group of people that he really looked after we're the orphans orphans
[48:17]they don't have a father to look after them that's why my
[48:21]brothers and sisters if you guys can sponsor orphans go ahead and
[48:26]do so the time of edentia light is coming pretty soon many
[48:30]of us alhamdulillah we're blessed with parents who can buy us some
[48:34]gifts on the time of aid they present us with some presents
[48:38]and we celebrate with them but there are millions of children out
[48:41]there unfortunately have lost their parents or have lost their father and
[48:45]they don't have anyone to bring them nice clothings they see people
[48:50]celebrating but they don't have which is very painful god forbid but
[48:57]try to put yourself in their shoes imagine you see other people
[49:01]there wearing nice clothes or celebrating and you can't afford it and
[49:04]you're still wearing your old clothes if you can help send them
[49:10]a basket Eid present eight gifts try to sponsor them even when
[49:18]he was on his deathbed he told imam al hassan and imam
[49:23]hussain ali him as salam Allah Allah will I Tom take care
[49:25]of the orphans and this message was not fully mom has an
[49:29]imam is it them suppose was for us mom has an imam
[49:31]husain IM salaam they don't need to be reminded to take care
[49:34]of the orphans we do so when he was truck salam ala
[49:45]hele by the sword of abdul hamid animaljam and he was brought
[49:51]to his house the orphans of the city of Kufa learned that
[50:04]their protector their helper their supporter has been hurt so they gather
[50:12]around his house they gather around his door and they start crying
[50:17]where is our Father that's what they used to call him father
[50:21]because he was like a father figure to them he would come
[50:25]to them as I mentioned last night in one of the stories
[50:28]where he would come and feed them himself with his own hands
[50:33]he would play with them he would take care of them he
[50:36]would feed them he would look after them so they felt that
[50:40]he is just like their father so they gathered around his house
[50:45]crying where is our father mom and Hassan Salameh here they came
[50:50]out he sees all these orphans gathered around his house and he
[50:58]cries and he says go pray for Amir one minion salam ala
[51:01]ali go make dua that may Allah cure him he's in pain
[51:08]the sword of Abdul Rahman emulsion that struck Imam Ali ibn ABI
[51:13]Talib was kept poisoned with a very severe poison so Imam al
[51:21]hassan an imam al-hussein alayhim as-salam bring a doctor and they tell
[51:29]him can you examine our father Ameer al-mumineen salam ala hele the
[51:36]doctor takes a specific vein from the kidney of a sheep he
[51:46]takes this vein and he inserts it into the wound of amirul
[51:50]mumineen alehissalaam and he picks it up he looks at it and
[51:58]he starts crying they tell him what is the matter he turns
[52:01]to Imam Ali Ali has Salaam and he says yeah I mean
[52:06]era had a duck what I'll say was say attack for another
[52:11]but AHA the lion was Allah Allah omer asik says yeah Ameer
[52:17]al-mumineen make your will whatever you wish to say to your family
[52:21]go ahead and say it bid your farewell to them the poison
[52:28]has gone too deep into your body you're not going to survive
[52:31]this one when imam al has sent an imam and her saying
[52:38]heard this they started crying and when the doctor left zeyneb alaihe
[52:41]salam came into the room along with his with her sister o
[52:46]Mical Foom and they both started weeping I wa abbot ah a
[52:51]wali uh who will look after us my father who will look
[52:57]after the children who will look after the orphans he looked at
[53:02]them and he says my dear children do not cry I'm going
[53:09]to a better place I'm going to join your grandfather rasulullah sallallahu
[53:18]alayhi wa da fatima alayhim as-salam I've invested all these years in
[53:24]pain I lived in pain but now I'm gonna go to Jenna
[53:26]insha Allah I'm going to paradise where I'll be relaxing one of
[53:35]the Companions of Imam Ali o be a pile of alehissalaam while
[53:38]sitting behind the door when he hear the cries he also started
[53:45]crying imam al hassan came out and said why are you sitting
[53:47]here he said O son of rasulallah salallahu alaihe wa ala please
[53:51]forgive me but I could not leave until I see my master
[53:57]I mean minion salam ala ala he says okay let me make
[53:59]way for you imam al hassan goes inside a little while later
[54:03]comes out and says come in he go then he sees imam
[54:08]ali IBN ABI talib he says I saw his face so pale
[54:12]so yellow I told him yeah Ameer al-mumineen can I see your
[54:16]wound I said yes he showed me his wound he said yeah
[54:22]Ameer al-mumineen inshallah you'll survive this one you fought in major battles
[54:27]you're like the hero of every war that you fought in this
[54:33]is just a minor wound he said no it's not he said
[54:37]soon I'll be leaving you and I'll be joining my beloved rasulallah
[54:42]salallahu alayhe wa ala i'm going from this world so the companion
[54:48]started crying the children started crying then he left in a little
[54:54]while later as imam ali IBN ABI talib was on his deathbed
[54:58]Zainab alehissalaam waxen she says yeah Ameer al-mumineen I want to ask
[55:08]you a question but I know you're in a difficult state right
[55:12]now he says go ahead my beloved daughter what question do you
[55:16]want to ask she said I heard the wife of a soul
[55:22]allah sallallahu alayhi wa ala omo Amon saying a tradition that she
[55:26]heard from rasulallah salallahu alaihe wa al the minute he heard this
[55:33]he cried he said what did you hear her saying what did
[55:36]she hear from rasulallah salallahu alayhi wa la she said i heard
[55:39]her saying that she heard rasulallah salallahu alaihe wa anna says that
[55:48]on the day of ashura imam al-hussein will be all alone in
[55:53]Caravela and he will be killed in Karbala I uh is that
[55:58]true my father I want to ask you is that true Amana
[56:00]me want me to cried and he said yes mind my beloved
[56:06]daughter zeyneb that is true your brother Hussein one day will be

[56:13]Hassan will not be there no one will be with him but
[56:18]you will be with him zeyneb she said I'm gonna be with
[56:24]him he said yes Yas a you will be with him then
[56:25]what's going to happen to me I'm evil minion then cried even
[56:30]further and he said yeah as a nub you will become a
[56:32]prisoner for bunny umeå Hussain will be killed your brother Abbas will
[56:39]be killed you will be all alone with no helper and no
[56:45]supporter and no protector except allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala she said what else
