[0:00]haha [Applause] [Music] [Music] as well the term accountability is defined as

[0:30]the obligation to explain justify and take responsibility for one's actions it's

[0:37]an important concept that is relevant to every aspect of our individual

[0:43]and Collective lives as students as parents as spouses as employees as

[0:51]Executives as Community leaders as politicians were always expected to account for

[0:59]our actions to explain why we do things and it's an important

[1:05]part of our everyday life similarly when it comes to our religious

[1:10]and spiritual obligations accountability is an important concept we know that God

[1:17]created us he placed us on this Earth and there will come

[1:22]a time where God will hold us to account for our time

[1:25]on this Earth thus the belief in accountability the day of accountability

[1:31]or the day of judgment is integral to our belief system it

[1:36]ensures that we understand our obligations in this life and that we

[1:43]are prepared to answer and to justify for our time in this

[1:49]life it's important also our religious teachings tell us that in addition

[1:55]to this idea of accountability by God that it's important for us

[1:58]to engage in self-accountability the famous Hadith says hold yourselves to account

[2:11]before you are held to account and weigh your Deeds weigh yourselves

[2:15]before they are weighed we are encouraged to constantly engage in self-accountability

[2:23]this life is a life of action a life in which we

[2:30]work and not necessarily our held to account the Hadith says alioma

[2:37]today or this life is a time of action and no accountability

[2:42]and the next life is a time of accountability with no opportunity

[2:47]for action so we're encouraged to engage in self-accountability sometimes we may

[2:54]find ourselves asking where do I stand with God is God accepting

[3:00]my acts of worship does my record of Good Deeds outweigh my

[3:04]record of bad Deeds sometimes we may find ourselves asking and wondering

[3:11]well one efficient way to guarantee our understanding of where we stand

[3:17]is to engage in self-accountability nurse to hold ourselves to account and

[3:22]we are encouraged to do so on a daily basis that way

[3:28]we know exactly where we stand self-accountability may not be something that

[3:33]many of us are very comfortable with we may not be happy

[3:38]with the results of our self-accountability but if we engage in this

[3:43]process of self-accountability we have a very clear picture of where we

[3:48]stand we're able to realize where our strengths are and where our

[3:52]weaknesses are I read a story once about a young man who

[3:56]worked as a landscaper this young man walked into a shop one

[4:00]day and asked the shop owner if he could use his telephone

[4:03]the shop owner agreed so the man went and he picked up

[4:07]the phone and he dialed the number on the other end of

[4:11]the line a woman picked up the phone the young man asked

[4:16]the woman if she needed a landscaper for her home the woman

[4:20]replied that she had already employed a landscaper the young man told

[4:26]her that he would be willing to do all of the work

[4:30]that her landscaper does but for half of the price the woman

[4:35]respectfully declined and she said you know I'm already happy with the

[4:38]work that's being done the young man insisted he told her he

[4:43]offered that he would do even more work again the woman respectfully

[4:49]declined she told him that she was very comfortable with her current

[4:55]landscaper finally the young man thanked her and he hung up the

[5:00]phone the shopkeeper was watching this whole thing and he was amazed

[5:04]at this young man he turned to him and he said you

[5:07]know you seem like you're a very diligent young man you're a

[5:10]hard worker I would be happy to offer you a job to

[5:13]work with me here in the shop the young man he smiled

[5:18]and he respectfully declined and he explained to the shopkeeper that he

[5:24]was already employed as a landscaper in fact he worked for the

[5:27]woman whom he called but that he was just calling in order

[5:33]to verify his own work to make sure that he was on

[5:35]the right track and it sounded like he was doing a great

[5:40]job self-accountability is important dear friends it allows us to have a

[5:45]very clear picture of where we are and where we need to

[5:48]be and this is why we are encouraged to engage in daily

[5:51]self-accountability to take stock of ourselves every day spend some time in

[5:58]the morning in the evening and ask yourself what did I do

[6:03]today where am I with regards to my actions to where I

[6:06]am and where I need to be and through self-accountability we can

[6:10]have a better picture of our strengths and weaknesses what we're doing

[6:16]well and what we need to work on in this way if

[6:20]we engage in self-accountability then we will be amongst those whom the

[6:26]Quran describes as having him that on the day of judgment they

[6:34]shall have no fear and nothing to worry about I pray that

[6:36]God gives us all the capacity the capability to engage in Daily

[6:41]self-accountability and to continue to progress further was [Music]
